Through busy streets and sparkling lights, two shapes remain still in bracing, facing each other despite the tide of people coming and going, the honks and music bristling through.

"Come on, Kei," Takeru asks with a nod. "Be an adult for once."

She stays silently sulking.

"We can get anything else, within reason."

Groans and furrowing brows, but nothing else.

"It's never gonna work out."

"Not with that attitude…"

"Please, use your head! We have to be responsible with our purchases too."

"Fuck you. I never ask for anything and the one time I do, this is your answer?!"

"Kei, we can't bring a real life-sized skeleton into the base!"

"Oh, but you could arrange a Christmas party last year?"

"All we did was put décor, and we lucked out. We can't take this with us or we're getting suspended!"

"Fine…" she pouts, turning away. "Then let's get the bats, ghosts and spiders."

"THOSE ARE EVEN BIGGER!"

"But I only want to have a spooky party… I always tag along with your ideas. You'd crush your partner's dreams like this?" she pleads, sniffing and squeaking.

"I'm only saying we-"

"You scared?"

"I- You- Fine, dammit! We can put them up in my room, so only buy one of each."

"Thank you. Love you, Takeru," Kei smiles and swoops him up, suddenly hugging the air out of his lungs. "Wanna buy some vampire teeth for… our roleplaying?"

"Kei, there's kids on the street."

"And maybe in my tummy, too."

"Wait, what the fu-"

"I'll go get the decorations, you go get the food," and with that, she skips into a shop. Before turning back with a mild frown. "And don't forget the colorants for the sauce."

"…God-fucking-dammit," Takeru facepalms to hide the sudden blush, and avoid the giggles of those around. "Class Rep is gonna kill us both for real this time…"
