Chelsea glanced at the clock on the wall of Jackie's classroom, she had about 10 minutes before the students would be arriving for the day. She read over the lesson plans one more time to make sure she understood everything.

"Hi Hanson!" She heard a voice say. She looked up and saw Jackie's former student, Davis standing in front of the table she was sitting at.

"Hi Davis" Chelsea greeted with a smile, wondering what he was doing in Jackie's room instead of his own classroom, and why he was here 10 minutes before school started, in truth she didn't mind one bit, she adored Davis, as did everyone else in the school.

"Are you Stokes today?" He asked his favorite guest teacher.

"I am!" Chelsea answered.

"Is Stokes sick today?" He asked.

"No, I can't remember what she's doing today but I know she's not sick because she asked me to sub for her today a week ago."

"That's good! Did she leave me my soda?" He asked.

"Your what?" Chelsea asked confusedly.

"My soda, every Friday if I've been a good listener I get to come see Stokes before school starts. I get to be her helper until the bell rings, then I have to go to my classroom, and she always buys me a soda for a reward, but I have to put it in my backpack until I get home, I can't drink it at school." Davis explained.

(Davis still missed being in Jackie's class so Jackie and Davis' new teacher had developed a reward system, which not only let Davis still see Jackie once a week, it encouraged good behavior, and it had worked, he's been a great listener for his new teacher, he had earned the reward every single week, he hadn't missed one yet. Secretly Jackie was thrilled, she was obviously thrilled he was doing so well, and she was also thrilled she got to see him every week, she missed him too)

"Oh, well let's look for it, I haven't seen it but let's look." Chelsea answered.

Chelsea looked on the shelves in the room, on Jackie's desk, and in Jackie's mini fridge but there was no soda.

"I'm not finding it Davis." Chelsea told him apologetically, Jackie must have just spaced it.

"You mean I was good all week for nothing?" Davis exclaimed.

Chelsea had to turn around so Davis wouldn't see her chuckle.

"I'll tell you what, you can't get the soda yourself because students aren't allowed in the teacher's lounge, but I'll give you the money and you take the money down to Mrs. Caldwell (the school secretary, as well as Davis' favorite person in the entire school) and she'll get the soda for you. How's that sound?"

"Sounds great to me, thanks woman!" He said happily.

Chelsea chuckled as she grabbed her purse and dug around for 50 cents. She handed him the two quarters and he happily left the room. He came back a few minutes later with his soda in his hand. He put the soda in his backpack and then zipped the backpack back up again.

"Do you have anything you want me to do, Stokes always gives me a job to do." Davis informed the guest teacher.

Chelsea looked around for something for him to do.

"Um, I know what you could do for me, do you see that stack of papers on top of the student's mailboxes?"

The papers were to let the parents of the kids in the school know that there was a fundraiser next week.

"Yep." Davis answered.

"Could you please put one of those in each of the student's mailboxes for me?"

"Sure thing, Hanson." He said as he got to work.

"What should I do with the extras?" He asked as he held the three extra pieces of paper that he had left over after he had finished.

"Just put them on Mrs. Stokes' desk, I'll take them down to the office when I take the kids to lunch today."

He neatly placed the papers on Jackie's desk.

He was just about to ask Chelsea if she had anything else she wanted him to do when the bell rang, indicating he had to go.

"Bye Hanson, I have to go." He said with a frown as he gave her a hug.

"Bye Davis, have a good day, and I'll see you next Thursday and Friday."

"You're going to be our teacher next week for two whole days?" He asked.

"Yep."

Yay!" He said happily.

She smiled at him.

"Is Stokes going to be back on Monday? I love that woman but I'm going to give her a piece of my mind for forgetting my soda."

Don't laugh, don't laugh Chelsea thought silently to herself.

"Yeah, she'll be back on Monday but I'm sure she didn't mean to forget your soda, it was just an accident, don't you think?" Chelsea asked him, trying to save Jackie from getting Davis' rath.

"I know it was an accident, but still, that doesn't help me, does it?" Davis said.

Well sorry Jackie, I tried Chelsea thought to herself amusedly.

Davis then left and went to his own classroom.

Chelsea stood by the door, getting ready to greet Jackie's students as they came in for the day when her phone buzzed on the back table. She had a text message. It was from Jackie.

Chelsea, if Davis comes in the room looking for a soda tell him I am so sorry, I completely forgot. Tell him next week I will buy him two and that I will also let him pick a prize from the prize box. Thanks again for subbing for me today, if you have any questions about anything I'll have my phone so feel free to shoot me a text!

Hi Jackie, no worries, I took care of it, Davis got his soda, but just a word of caution, I'm pretty sure you are going to be in big trouble the next time he sees you so be prepared, I tried to stick up for you but I don't think it helped in the slightest! Enjoy your day off!

Jackie read the text and laughed.

Thank you, Chelsea, in that case I'll only buy him one soda next week, but I will let him pick a prize from the prize box, maybe he'll forgive me easier, fingers crossed!

Even as Jackie typed that she didn't for one second believe that Davis would let her off the hook that easily, oh well, worst case scenario is she'd have a funny Davis story to share with Nick!

The End!
