All the top scientists of Monarch sat around a table to discuss the current affairs. Amongst them was the new head of monarch Walter Ross, a doctor of zoology who had focussed many years, researching the titans. He was a stout black man with short cut hair and a well trimmed suit. He's got the lead role because all the seasoned titan specialists were content with their roll and didn't really want to manage the company
(I heard somewhere that Rick Stanton was head of Monarch but i haven't been able to find a reliable source that backs it up.)
"Interesting theory Mr Stanton," said Dr Ling Chen, "but why would the titans decide to wreak havoc now?"
Stanton, who had just finished explaining his theory on why the titans are acting up readied himself to explain some more.
"It's to do with kong." he said ,"neither monkey or gecko came out on top, so the other titans have lost faith in godzilla as he isn't the true alpha now so weaker titans like snake face think they can overstep their bounds and do whatever they want.."
"So how will this help us solve the titan crisis?" Mark Russell asked ,"governments of the world are screaming at us to help them, people are dying and all we can do is sit here and twiddle your thumbs."
"Hey, my job was to figure out what's going on," Rick replied, "the reason we're here is to discuss what to do about it. If I knew a magical way to solve this i'd just have texted you and whamo! apocalypse solved.''
"Does anyone have any ideas?" Mark asked
"The ORCA," Spoke up Ilene Andrews, "we could try and rebuild the ORCA and use it to try and communicate to the titans."
"No way!" Dr Russle yelled ,"do you not remember what happened last time the orca existed!"
"It could work," Ilene Chen cut in ,"we say that the ORCA was effective."
"Yea!" Mark shouted ,"effective at almost destroying the world."
"And saving it," Andrews added.
"I'm open for suggestions," Rick Stanton said ,"but this seems like the best idea we have. I know you don't like it Dr Russle but we can't let sentiment get in the way of millions of lives."
"So is it decided?" asked Dr Andrews, "will we be using the ORCA?"
Everyone turned and looked expectantly at Dr Ross who was sitting with his hands clasped together
"Tell out engineering division to start work on an ORCA prototype," he decreed ,"and tell them to be fast, lives are on the line here. Is that all?"
"No, actually," said Dr Ling Chen, "we have received a call from the government of Argentina. They have reported sightings of a large black creature, just off their coast, as well as a drastic increase in water acidity resulting in fish death."
Ling Chen picked up a remote and pressed a button on it, causing a TV screen, mounted to one of the walls to turn on and display images of an ominous black form in the water, roughly the size of a humpback whale.
"That certainly doesn't sound like titan behaviour." Walter said ,"it is not like a titan to pollute an environment and murder an ecosystem for no reason. The only titan that has ever acted like that was.."
"Monster 0," Santon said, finishing off the sentence.
"Send a team to check it out," said the boss ,"it's probably just a whale in an ecological disaster."
As the meating wrapped up, Walter tried to believe himself but he knew better, something felt off about the Argentinian creature, mysterious creatures don't just appear and start killing everything.
