So long time no see huh? How long has it been now, a few years or so? Time moves so quickly the older you get, I swear! I do apologize that it's taken so long but I have great news! I've almost finished writing season one of Prime. I just have less than a fourth of one chapter, and then the final chapter to finish writing. I'd planned on waiting to post this until I finished but I just got so excited and wanted to give you guys some hope that this will finish up season one.

Now whether I move on to season two or not has yet to be decided. I really want to complete all my work in progress here. This one currently has my attention and that's why I want to finish the season. Then I'll be focusing on other projects. I hope in the meantime this gives you a mostly satisfying ending! I have big things ahead!

So please enjoy the new chapter, finally, and always remember that I own none of this. You know, except Jessica lol.

Chapter Twenty-One:

Standing outside of Prime's office at six in the morning wasn't typically part of my everyday routine. Yet here I was, frozen just a few feet from the door with my heart pounding in my chest. The act of talking to Optimus wasn't what had me hesitating; it was the thought of divulging more personal information, even if the one being informed was technically my boss. Well, one of them anyways.

With a deep breath, I knocked on the door and waited for the affirmative to enter. It came almost right away, so I pushed open the door and walked inside. Optimus was sitting at his desk, a data pad in his servos. He watched me enter with a curious smile. "Jessica, I wasn't expecting to see you. How may I help you?" He asked while gesturing to his desk for me to join him.

I took a running start and easily jumped onto the top of his desk. Then I walked to the middle of it before speaking. "Hey Optimus, sorry to barge in so early in the morning. I had some things I needed to discuss with you that are pretty important. I wanted to catch you while you were alone."

He tilted his head curiously. "Is everything all right?"

"Nothing is necessarily wrong." I admitted with a slight smile. "I finally have answers to what's happening to me, beyond just being the Allspark that is. I mean, being the Allspark is a big reason why it's happening but that's only part of it." I paused, realizing that I was rambling. "Sorry. Heh. It's kind of a long story."

I took yet another deep breath and told Optimus of everything I'd learned from the Allspark last week. He listened with rapt attention, looking equal parts intrigued and worried. He looked the most concerned when I got to the part where my chest would have to be cut open in order to get my newly grown spark out and into my new body. When I finished, Optimus hummed thoughtfully. "Thank you for telling me this. How are you feeling about this new development? I imagine it took you by surprise. Are you okay with becoming a Cybertronian?"

"Yes, I am. It was a bit of a shock, and it took some time to get used to. That's why it took me so long to tell anyone. But honestly, it feels right. You guys are truly my family. I've never felt more cared about and loved than I have since joining Team Prime. I've always had trouble fitting in as a human and maybe that's because I was never meant to be one. I'm an Autobot through and through, to actually become a Cybertronian is an honor." My heart felt full as I told Optimus my thoughts. I meant every single word I said. "And being the Allspark, it's indescribable. I have the opportunity to save my family and their home world, a world I hope to see one day and be a part of. This is where I was meant to be."

Optimus smiled warmly at me. "I am happy to hear it, Specialist Jessica. I've no doubt in my mind that you belong within our ranks, as both Autobot and Cybertronian. I am honored to have you on my team. Now then." He clasped his hands together. "Captain Lennox should be here soon, it's his move-in day after all. Are you alright to help him get settled and then perhaps your guardian and the twins could begin his training as well?"

I was absolutely giddy at the thought. "Oh yes, I can't wait to begin! Lennox is in for a treat, but I know he can handle it. He'll be an asset to the team for sure." I grinned before saluting Optimus. "I'll see you later sir."

With that, I turned around and jumped off the desk. Then I made my way to the front of the silo to wait for Lennox's arrival. No one was up but Ratchet, who was at the computer as usual. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. I made my way over to say good morning. He turned around at the sound of my approaching footsteps, smiling when he saw it was me.

"Good morning Ratch." I greeted, climbing into his hand when he offered it. He brought me up to his shoulder, allowing me to sit there while he worked. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and scrolled mindlessly through social media. Moments like this were always nice. I liked being able to just hang out with Ratchet in comfortable silence. We didn't feel the need to fill the void with mindless chatter, We were just happy to be in each other's company.

It was a little before seven when Lennox finally got here. His truck was loaded up with all his belongings he would need to move into the base. Ratchet lowered me back into the floor so that I could skip over to him. "Lennox, I'm so glad you're here." I grinned, offering him my hand to shake.

He accepted with his own smile. "I'm glad to be here. I'm really looking forward to training with you guys. I love a good challenge and I just know this will be one."

"You have no idea." I snickered.

A loud honk interrupted us before more could be said. It was Cliff and Arcee returning from their night out. A part of me wondered if they completed the bond while they were out. It really wasn't any of my business though so I wasn't going to just ask. Either way, I was happy for my guardian. He and Arcee belonged together.

They both transformed upon entering the control room from the entrance tunnels. Cliff walked over to Lennox and I, nodding at the former in greeting and offering myself his hand. I climbed into it and hugged his face when he brought me up. "How are you doing this morning, partner? Did you sleep alright?" He asked me.

I smiled in reassurance. "Yes sir."

"Good."

"I was just about to help Lennox move into his new room." I said, gesturing towards the other human. Then my face got really serious. "Then I was thinking about moving back into my old room." He looked at me shocked when I said that. I'd been staying with him in his room ever since I returned from the Decepticon warship. He opened his mouth to say something but I held up a hand to stop him. "I know you'd be okay with me staying with you as long as I needed to but I'm okay Cliff and honestly, I'm ready to have my own space again. Don't get me wrong, I love staying with you but it's time."

He didn't look entirely convinced, but he nodded. "If that's what you want, then that's what we'll do. Just remember that you're always welcome."

"I know. Now come on! It's move in time!" I clapped my hands excitedly. Cliff lowered me back down and then activated his holoform to help. Between the three of us, it only took a couple trips.

While the other three humans who occasionally stayed the night stayed in the same area as I, Lennox had his own wing. The four of us had our own rooms with a common living room area and bathroom. Lennox also had a private sector with a bathroom, but no common area. Our rooms were technically meant to house several rolls of military bunk bed. Technically you could fit five in each room. There was a five bedroom as well that no one used so technically our rooms would have normally housed about 50 soldiers. Instead it was just three teenagers and me. We each had a queen size bed, dresser, and a desk with a computer. There were other nicknacks in each room that made it our own as well.

Lennox had his own private bedroom, like a higher up would. Which was kind of funny since technically I was a higher rank than him. But I'd much rather be nearer to my friends anyways. When they did stay the night, we would gather in our living room area and watch movies until late into the night. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with them.

When we got Lennox settled into his room, he helped me move the few belongings I had in Cliff's room back into my own. Cliff even helped Lennox hang up the canvas of the painting Sunstreaker had made me for my birthday. It was honestly nice being back in my old room and I hoped I would be okay tonight when sleeping in there alone.

After all that was completed, it was nearly ten o'clock in the morning. "Alright, I say we take a quick break to get a light breakfast and then head to the training room." I said after the last box of stuff was unpacked.

"Sounds good to me." Lennox nodded, looking grateful at the thought of getting some food. Cliff also agreed, looking forward to getting some Energon. His holoform disappeared, no doubt he planned on meeting us in the kitchen. I led Lennox out of my room and towards the food.

I decided on a simple parfait, not wanting to eat much before training. Lennox followed my example. We took a seat at the dining table, chatting back and forth as we ate. He asked me what to expect while training with the Autobots. "The main thing you gotta remember is speed and agility are necessary to stay alive. I run at the very least ten miles a day, more if I feel up to it. Stretching is also very important, I do yoga every morning. You'd be surprised at some of the positions you'll put yourself in to avoid getting captured or shot or stepped on. You can't be afraid to throw your body around. I have an easier time at it thanks to the Allspark. You'll have a bit more trouble but that's why we're doing this. We want to see what a regular human can do against a Cybertronian and how we can help them prepare and fight them. You're basically a guinea pig." I winked at him playfully.

"Honestly, I'm okay with that." Lennox chucked. "If being a guinea pig means I get to do something as huge and important as this, then I'm all in."

"That's what we like to hear!"

We finished up breakfast rather quickly after that and made our way to the training room. Neither the twins or Cliff were in there yet so Lennox and I started on our warm up stretches. After that, we both decided to run for a bit on the treadmill. I was curious to see how long he could go and at what speed. I set mine for something low, leaving me barely at a jog, whereas Lennox went all out. I couldn't see his speed but by the way he was running, I knew it was set high.

After about thirty minutes, I was quite impressed. He'd barely seemed to be sweating and he showed no signs of fatigue. It was obvious that he spent a lot of time running, which was a bonus. It made me curious as to what his usual training routine was.

Cliffjumper finally arrived as we were finishing up our run, the twins trailing behind him. He gave me a curious look when he realized I was running so slow but I just winked at him. Lennox and I hopped off the treadmill and joined the bots on the other side of the gym. This area was more open, allowing for us to practice fighting hand to hand- or servos if you wanted to get more technical.

"I'm glad to see you guys have already started." Cliff smirked when we arrived in front of him. "Welcome to your first training session with the Autobots, Captain Lennox. I'll warn you now that it won't be easy. The three of us will push you further than you've ever been pushed before. The Decepticons still show you no mercy, they will squish you without a second thought. Our job is to teach you how to avoid them and how to take them down. I figured a demonstration would be the best way to start. Jessica, if you wouldn't mind." He gestured to join him.

I smirked and winked at Lennox. "Time to show you why I was chosen to help lead the team." Perhaps I was bragging a bit but I was looking forward to showing off in front of the other human soldier. Not even the kids have seen me in action so this was kind of a big deal in my opinion.

Cliff wasn't impressed with my bragging but he said nothing. Instead he instantly attacked before I was ready. I twisted my body out of the way, barely managing to avoid his grasp. "Rude." I huffed but Cliff just laughed as he came after me once more.

That was basically how the next several minutes went by. He would come at me, and I would avoid him. My senses were dialed up as high as possible and I could almost sense him before he touched me. I was hyper aware of every move he made. Even when he pulled out his sword and brought it down on me while my back was turned, I still managed to easily avoid its touch.

I finally decided to go on the defensive and, after rolling away to avoid yet another jab, I turned and ran at him, first sliding underneath him to get behind and then twisting my body around to jump high and kick him in the back. Cliff grunted in surprise, falling forwards onto his knees.

My eyes flickered over to Lennox with a smug grin on my face. He wasn't looking at me though. That's when a golden first wrapped around my waist, pulling me up high into the air. I gasped in surprise and tried to push out of its grip, but was unable to. Sunstreaker held on tightly. I glared at him annoyed, I hadn't expected him to join the fight but I should've. My mentors liked to play dirty sometimes.

"You should always be paying attention to your surroundings Jessica, even if you think you won the battle." Sideswipe reminded me, causing me to roll my eyes. I knew that, I just lost myself in the feeling of victory in front of someone new. I got cocky and paid the price.

Cliff stood back up and chuckled at the sight of me clasped in Sunstreakers fist. "Gotta say I'm surprised you got captured. Usually you're pretty good at avoiding us." My guardian remarked.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah, Jessica isn't omnipotent after all. Can you put me down, Sunny." I pouted, pushing weakly at his digits.

"Don't call me that." He grumbled but did as I asked, depositing me right next to Lennox, who was looking rather impressed.

"Wow, that was some fighting." He whistled. "Though I don't have your strength or flexibility so we might have to find a different strategy for me."

Cliffjumper nodded, looking thoughtful. "I figured as much. I believe Jessica has already told you that the main thing you need to learn is how to dodge and avoid getting snatched up or squished by a con. She has extra abilities due to the Allspark that helps her. For you, it'll be different but I'm sure we can figure something out. For now, I want to do a quick fight with you just to test what abilities you do have and what we need to improve on. Don't worry, I promise not to actually hit you." He promised with a smirk.

Lennox looked a little unsure but he nodded his assent. Then he took my place from earlier and prepared himself to face off with the red Autobot. I watched curiously, wondering just how well this would go. When they began, Lennox was a little shaky at first, no doubt intimidated by Cliff's size. But my mentor kept to his word and never actually hit the other soldier. Soon enough, Lennox grew more confident and was having an easier time actually avoiding the coming blows.

After a few minutes, Cliff finally called the fight, looking impressed by the skills Lennox showed. "Alright I think I have a good idea on how to best train you. The twins and I will work up a training regimen for tomorrow. I say we call it for the day though. Great job. I'm looking forward to training with you more Captain Lennox." My guardian informed him.

"Thank you." Lennox replied gratefully. After that, we split off to hit the showers. Both Lennox and I were covered in sweat after such an intense training session.

After getting myself cleaned off and changed, I made my way to the front of the silo. Lennox joined me on the walk back, looking refreshed after his own shower. We talked a little bit on the way, both remarking on how excited we were to do more training together and seeing what our mentors had in store for us.

I was also growing curious about Lennox's history. I didn't know too much about him except that he was in the special forces. If we were going to be living and training together, I wanted to get to know him more. "So Lennox, tell me about yourself. Got any family out there wondering what you're up to?"

Lennox smiled and seemed to get lost in his memories for a moment. "Both my parents are still around. I call them almost everyday. They don't know where I'm stationed or anything but I know they're proud of me." He rubbed the back of his head then, cheeks growing slightly red. "I also have a girlfriend, Sarah. She and I are high school sweethearts and, despite the fact that I've barely been home since I left six years ago, she's still waiting for me. I'm lucky to have her."

"Aww that's so sweet!" I practically squealed. "You have to tell me all about her! What does she look like, what's her personality, how did you guys get together? I need to know everything."

Lennox chuckled at my excitement. "Sarah is great, really. She's one of the sweetest, helpful and most compassionate people I've ever met. She's beautiful both inside and out. I love her blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes. She's just a little taller than me. In school. She was a cheerleader and I played football. I guess you could say it was a little cliche how we met and got together but I love our story. She's always supported me, even when I told her I planned on joining the marines straight out of school." By the way he explained everything about her, I could tell he was deeply in love with her. It was honestly just too cute and I was so happy for him.

"It must be so hard being away from her." I remarked with a sad smile. At least I got to see the mech I loved everyday, even if our relationship was a complicated mess. I couldn't imagine going months or even years without seeing Ratchet. My heart broke just a little bit for Lennox.

"It can be, yeah. We FaceTime often though and that helps." Lennox looked thoughtful for a moment. "I'm actually thinking about proposing to her the next time I visit home. I have the ring picked out and everything. I was waiting until I knew I'd have more time at home but since I joined this new program, I'm not sure how often that'll be. But I know I want to marry her and I want her to know that as well."

"That's so sweet. I'm happy for you. I hope everything goes well for you. Love is a precious gift, you're lucky to have it." I told him, my heart clenching in my chest. I had love too but I held my own self back from fully embracing it due to my past trauma. I hoped one day Ratchet and I could be as happy as Lennox seemed to be.

"I recognize that look in your eyes. You love someone too, but you can't be with them for some reason. Why's that?" Lennox asked, mildly concerned but still curious.

I tried not to flinch at the question and stopped walking. We were near the front now and I honestly didn't want this conversation to be overheard, despite the fact that everyone here knew everything. A part of me was surprised he didn't know anything at all. Surely one of the kids would've let something slip. Honestly anyone who's been in the same room as Ratchet and I could see the yearning we had for one another.

"It's a very complicated situation. You know a little about my past, how I spent some time in a mental institution?" He nodded his confirmation. "Well that really messed me up. I'm not good at letting people in and, even when I do, my body tends to go into fight or flight and I push them away. I never really had friends before I joined up with Team Prime. Meeting them was a blessing but it hasn't been easy. You're right, I am in love. I love Ratchet."

He looked only slightly surprised, but I think that's just because he didn't figure it out. Looking back, I'm sure he realized it was quite obvious. "And Ratchet loves me too. But our relationship has been on the rocks more times than it hasn't been, it seems like. He actually didn't talk to me for a period of time because I lied to him about some pretty serious things and he felt betrayed when he learned about them. I can't blame him there.

"Then you know I got captured by the Decepticons. When I came back, my parents were killed shortly after by Starscream. After that, I basically just shut down and built a wall around my heart. Or, I guess it was more of a reinforcement. I told Ratchet we could never be together. At the time I told him and myself it was because I was the Allspark. But eventually I realized it was me holding myself back because I was and still am so afraid of getting hurt again. I'm working through it because I want to be with him. I'm learning how to love myself and others. It's just been a process."

Lennox was quiet for a minute after I spilled my guts to him. "I'm sorry you had such a difficult upbringing. I can't imagine how alone you must have felt growing up."

My throat tightened and tears threatened to fall but I held them back. "It was lonely." I choked out. "It wasn't until we moved here and I met the Autobots that I truly began to feel loved. They gave me a home and welcomed me into their family with open arms. I'll forever be grateful to them for that. Things have been complicated for sure, but despite all my mess ups, they still want me here. I know they'll never abandon me like my birth family did. It's because of them that I'm finally healing."

Lennox offered me a hug, the first one we shared since meeting, and I accepted it gratefully. When I pulled away, I cleared my throat. "I hope one day the team welcomes me the way they have for you." He told me with a grin in an attempt to cheer me up.

"Please, you're a part of Team Prime now! We got your back." I assured him. We continued walking then, our mood light once more. We arrived at the front joking and laughing together.

My eyes swept around the room upon entering. Only Miko, Bulkhead and Ratchet were there. The latter two were watching what looked like a monster truck rally on the TV while Ratch was at his usual spot by the monitors. He'd spotted us the moment we entered the room and I was nearly taken aback by the flash of something that briefly shone in his optics. Was it jealousy?

The thought made me more giddy than I had the right to be.

I decided to join Miko and Bulkhead; Lennox followed behind me. No doubt he felt a bit awkward in his new home, it would take some time to get used to being here. I just hoped everyone made him feel welcome.

"Jessica! What's up girl, come watch some monster truck smashing with us!" Miko called when she spotted me. I joined her on the couch, Lennox pulled up a chair beside me. We cheered as two trucks collided.

Ratchet huffed behind us. "I don't know how you can watch that filth. Pitting two vehicles against each other like that, for the pleasure of human spectacle! It's a blood sport." He grumbled when Miko tried to get him to join us.

"Yeah!" Miko and Bulk exclaimed, high fiving one another.

Ratchet turned away, clearly irritated. "You could be helping Optimus in the field right now, you know. Instead of wasting your time watching television."

"Aw, Optimus doesn't need my help searching for the educational thingamabob." Bulkhead waved the thought away. Apparently Optimus, Arcee and Bee had gone out to check on a prehistoric signal that popped up on Earth. I guess it was a big deal because they were sent out a long time ago, pre-dating the Autobot/Decepticon rivalry. For it to be here on Earth was honestly insane. Out of all the places in the universe it could have ended up at, how did it end up here?

Ratchet went into a tangent about the importance of the Cybertronian data cylinder but I tuned him out. When he got going, his lectures could sometimes last for hours. I got enough of those during our lessons. Lennox, however, looked very interested. He seemed to be holding on to Ratchets every word, something the medic noticed and seemed very pleased about.

Miko and Bulkhead just looked put out, especially when Ratchet turned off the TV in order to maintain their attention. I just chuckled at their disdain and tried to pay attention as much as I could. It was honestly a little interesting. However, the more Ratchet ramped up, the more uninterested Miko and Bulk became. Finally Miko groaned out loud. "T.M.I dude!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms in exaggeration.

"Turn it back, I want to see the hoedown showdown!" Bulkhead agreed.

Before Ratchet could even respond, Optimus' voice came from the monitor. "Ratchet! Decepticon ambush. The cylinder is at risk! We require back up."

Bulkhead and Miko exchanged looks. "Back up is what I'm built for." The latter spoke, standing up straight and preparing to enter the groundbridge. The twins and Cliff arrived at that time, preparing to follow him as well. I wished I could go too but I knew it was too dangerous since there were Decepticons present.

"Go bend some fenders Bulk!" Miko cheered as he took off through the groundbridge. I waved goodbye to Cliff and the twins as they followed close behind him.

Lennox watched them go with a kind of longing in his eyes. He looked ready to run into battle. I wondered what kind of war he'd seen in his military career. "Don't worry, there will be plenty of fighting for us in the future. We just need to get you trained up and prepared for facing a con." I told him lightly, bumping his shoulder.

He smiled shyly, looking embarrassed at getting caught out. "I know. It's weird how you miss the bullets though, as crazy as that sounds. Being in battle is terrifying but the adrenaline sure is a rush." He confessed, rubbing the back of his neck.

I nodded in understanding. "I get it. After my first real fight I went with the Autobots, I was high on adrenaline. For the first time in my life, I actually felt powerful. That's a feeling I'll never forget."

It really wasn't either. Kicking Starscream's aft after he captured me, had me tortured, and then murdered my parents was a great relief. I honestly looked forward to facing him again someday and hopefully kicking his aft once more. A small part of me yearned to snuff out his spark.

That part scared me a little, to be honest.

"I've got an important job for you too, Miko." Ratchet was telling the younger girl. I looked over curiously and nearly laughed out loud when he handed her a mop. She did not look pleased. After he walked away, I turned back to Lennox to say some more words when I noticed a familiar mischievous grin cross Mikos face. She then took off down the stairs and through the groundbridge faster than I could comprehend.

"Scrap! Miko!" I called after her, irritated. Ratchet heard me yell and looked over to see what the fuss was about. "She just ran through the groundbridge. Alert the others." I told him.

He frowned, clearly as annoyed as I was by Mikos insolence but did as I said and called the others. However they were all engaged in battle and unable to get to her. That's when the monitor dinged with a phone call and Mikos voice came across the speaker. "Ratchet come in!"

Lennox and I joined Ratch at the end of the platform, leaning against the bars. "Miko, what the hell! Why do you always run to places you're not supposed to run to?" I lectured annoyed.

"There's no time for lectures, Jessica! I'm here with the data thingy and need a bridge right away!" She replied.

Ratchet grumbled to himself before telling her he was reopening the portal to arrival coordinates. Miko then asked if he could open it any closer. Ratch asked her to provide coordinates, and then that he needed precise coordinates when she said about 50 yards.

"Do you think Lennox and I should go try to help her?" I asked Ratch, feeling conflicted. He didn't look entirely convinced either but after a moment he nodded.

"Just be quick, and be careful." He urged me.

Lennox and I exchanged looks before we took off through the open groundbridge. When we reached the otherside, there was fighting all around us. My eyes swept the area until they finally fell on Miko. I grabbed Lennox's arm and directed him towards her. We quickly ran over and ducked behind the cylinder with her. "I don't know If we'll be able to move this thing. It looks heavy." I informed them with a worried frown.

"We have to try!" Miko practically shouted. I rolled my eyes and nodded and the three of us attempted to push it. It didn't budge though. "Maybe if we take a running start at it?"

Lennox and I nodded in agreement. We ran several feet back and then, together, we ran at the cylinder and kicked it simultaneously . However, the moment we touched it, it activated, glowing a bright blue color and humming loudly. It burst open, bouncing in the air and buzzing even louder. "Scrap!" I gasped and we braced ourselves for whatever it was about to do.

I heard Bulkhead yell Mikos name before there was a loud thud. I looked up in time to see a red beam of light shoot from the cylinder and into Bulkheads noggin. "Bulk!" Miko shouted and ran over to him.

Lennox and I climbed to our feet and started to walk over as well. However I froze in terror when a familiar Decepticon appeared in front of us. "You really took one for the team, Bulkhead." Knock Out gloated as he picked up the data cylinder. He turned his gaze on me and my heart stopped in my chest. "Well if it isn't Jessica. Megatron would be very happy to see you." He chuckled darkly and reached down to grab me.

I tried to move but my legs wouldn't work. I couldn't get any part of me to respond as I looked into the optics of my torturer. I couldn't even breathe. Echoes of my scream rang in my head, getting louder and louder.

Someone suddenly tackled me, bringing me out of my stupor. We hit the ground hard, barely missing Knock Outs grasp. "Shit." I groaned before pushing myself back up to stand. It was Lennox who had saved me.

"Are you alright?" He asked worriedly. I just nodded before grabbing his arm and pulling him away from Knock Out, who was reaching for me once more.

"Come back here Fleshling, I only wish to take you to Megatron." He called after us, laughing maniacally. We didn't turn back though as we raced for the groundbridge.

We nearly made it when I suddenly swooped up. I screamed, thinking it was Knock Out who had me. "It's okay,it's just me." The sound of my guardian's voice soothed me. I tried not to cry in relief. We made it to the otherside with no further problems and I was happy to see the inside of the silo.

I was transferred from Cliff to Ratchet almost immediately. He scanned me, frowning when he realized my heart rate was through the roof. "Jessica are you ok-" I burst into tears before he could finish. He looked over at Cliff confused. My guardian told him that Knock Out had been there and that caused him to stiffen. "Bulkhead, head to the medical bay. I'll be there shortly to examine you." He said before turning around and walking out of the control room. He took me to his own room.

When we got there, he set me down on his berth before materializing his holoform. I instantly threw myself into his arms. He held me tightly as I cried into his chest.

It was the first time I had seen Knock Out since I was aboard the Decepticon warship. I felt like I did all those months ago, weak, useless, and a burden. The memories of my torture played through my mind like a movie, only the scenes never stopped. They continued to play over and over again. I felt trapped.

The only thing that kept me from completely diving into the deep end was Ratchet's arms wrapped around me and the sound of his soothing voice whispering that he was there for me. I buried my face deep into his neck, breathing in the scent of his holoform, trying to rid myself of the memories that haunted me. I was no longer there, I was safe with my family and with the mech that I loved.

"I completely froze, Ratch." I choked out. "All those months of training, but the second I saw him it was like all of that disappeared. I couldn't move. He would've grabbed me if Lennox hadn't knocked me out of the way. Why did I do that?"

Ratchet ran his hand through my hair. "You weren't prepared to see him, sweetspark. Knock Out did some horrible things to you, things that no person should ever have to experience. Your reaction to him was completely normal. In fact, I would've been surprised if you acted any differently."

I pushed away from him slightly. My vision was slightly blurry from tears. "I can't afford to do that though. It could have cost us everything if I'd been captured. What should I do? How do I prevent myself from freezing the next time I see him in battle?"

"It's not that simple. I can't guarantee you won't freeze up the next time you see him, or the time after that. We all heal from trauma in different ways. This is something you have to learn how to work through. I'll be there to help you, of course. What you truly need is therapy, but there's no way to do that considering this is all classified." He sighed in frustration. "I wish there was more I could do to help you."

"You already do so much for me." I assured him, leaning my head back down onto his chest. "Just hold me for a while?"

"Of course. However long you need me to." He promised me, kissing the top of my head.

I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up, I was still in Ratchet's room but he wasn't there. He'd wrapped me up in a blanket though. I felt a little stiff as I sat up. Their berths were more like concrete slabs so it wasn't the most comfortable sleeping place. Still, there was a certain comfort about being in Ratchet's room. He didn't have much, but still, just knowing it was his was enough.

I stood up and jumped off the edge. Then I made my way back to the front of the silo. When I got there, I was surprised to see Bulkhead was painting what looked like strange equations onto metal slabs. Miko was sitting on the second floor landing. She was trying to get his attention but he was just muttering to himself.

Lennox was sitting beside her, flipping through a book with a worried frown on his face. Once Bulk finished with what he was writing, Arcee and Bee grabbed the slab and took it over to Ratchet. Another laid beneath it. Miko tried to get him to take a break then, but Bulk ignored her and immediately went back to work.

I climbed the steps and joined Lennox. "What the heck is going on here?" I asked him, gesturing to Bulkhead.

"Jess!" He smiled, looking relieved to see me. The sound of my name caught the others' attention and they turned towards the two of us. "I'm glad to see you up again, I was worried."

"Yeah sorry about that." I grimaced, crossing my arms over my chest. "Seeing Knock Out kinda threw me off. He, uh, he-" I took a deep breath. "He was the one who tortured me when I was kidnapped by the Decepticons. Seeing him just brought back all those terrible memories and I just kinda froze. I'm glad I didn't go into a flashback at least. But thank you for saving me."

"Of course." He squeezed my forearm in reassurance. "I understand and I'm sorry you had to face him again. I can't imagine how you're feeling."

I scoffed, feeling slightly irritated. Not at Lennox of course, but at myself. "I'm feeling a lot of things, but mostly I'm angry. It's not fair that that asshole has so much power over me. I'm the Allspark, for Primus sake. I have to be stronger than him."

"And you will be." Ratchet chimed in, kneeling in front of us. "It just takes time."

Time wasn't a luxury one had when they were constantly being hunted. I thought about saying as much but didn't. He was right of course, healing wasn't a linear process. I just wished that I was past all my trauma and able to stand up for myself and my team mates.

Ratchet turned back to his computer monitor when it dinged. Lennox and I rushed up the stairs and over to where he stood to see what the results of whatever it was he had popped up. Optimus had also joined him and they both looked at the results with worried frowns. "This is Bulkheads neural net as you saw it earlier." Ratchet was saying when the computer beeped again. "This scan was recorded just minutes ago. It is as I feared. The data seems to be actively and aggressively rewriting Bulkheads neural net. I had hoped he was purging the data but he seems to be merely transcribing it as it-" his voice falters a bit.

"Consumes his mind." Optimus finished gravely.

"From all indications, by the time Bulkhead completes the formula, his own thoughts, his memories will be wiped clean."

"But if we stop him, goodbye synthetic Energon." Arcee commented sadly.

"You assume we possess a means of stopping him. I don't exactly have instant access to the wisdom of the ancients." Ratchet responded. Lennox and I exchanged grave looks. This didn't sound good at all.

"I will not allow another one of our own to be sacrificed, no matter the cost." Optimus told them, his voice strong with conviction.

"The living data transmitted itself from the cylinder, perhaps we could somehow coax it back inside." Ratchet informed us thoughtfully. I wondered though how we'd get the thing back from the Decepticons. Arcee must have as well because she asked that exact question.

"Megatron will bring it to us." Optimus replied.

They began to play their form of attack. Since I knew there was no way I'd be able to join them, I decided to rejoin Miko and Bulkhead. Lennox elected to stay behind and listen to the bots plan.

I arrived in time to hear Miko strike a loud cord on her guitar. The sound was ear splitting and I couldn't help covering my ears at the noise. Even Bulkhead reacted negatively, dropping the mop he was using as a paintbrush and covering his head with his servos. "Ah! What is that?" He cried out.

"Metal!" Miko replied matter of factly. "You love this song."

"I'm trying to concentrate." Bulkhead told her annoyed. I reached Mikos side and frowned at him in concern. Usually he was all about Mikos music. If he was acting like this, who knew how far the living data is his mind had spread. Miko was more annoyed though and informed him that he was starting to sound just like Ratchet. "Who?"

Miko was shocked when he said that. She took off then, running straight to Ratchet. The others had now vacated the base, off on their mission to retrieve the data cylinder. "Ratch, I think Bulks losing his mind." Miko was saying when I caught up. The look on Ratchet's face though showed that he already knew, and Miko instantly picked up on that.

Ratchet sighed and told her they hadn't wanted to frighten her. Then he tried to assure her that Optimus was on the case. She reminded him that Optimus wasn't his doctor, Ratchet was, and she needed to know that, when he finished the formula, would he still be the same Bulkhead.

Unfortunately Ratchet couldn't answer her.

Miko and I returned to Bulkhead's side. Lennox joined us a few minutes later. I asked him where he had gone after the bots left. He told me he'd gone to grab some water and do some thinking.

Bulkhead was still writing down formulas. Miko tried to get him to remember different memories from his past but Bulk seemed uninterested. He even seemed to have forgotten Wheeljack, his best buddy. She was getting more and more frustrated and asked him if he even knew who she was. For a second, it seemed like he did remember her, but then he was lost in the formula once more. Ratchet appeared then and took the finished slab, encouraging him to keep them coming though I could see the worried looks in his optics.

Miko seemed lost in thought for a moment before she suddenly turned around and started up the groundbridge. "Miko, what are you doing?" I asked her, worried.

"Showing Bulkhead who he really is." She replied before yanking the mop out of his hand and racing towards the opened portal. "Come on, you want to finish your formula, don't you." Miko taunted Bulk to get him to follow her.

"Shit." I growled when he took off after her. I jumped up and ran, knowing that Miko would need back up. Lennox was close behind me. We ended up at a monster track rally arena. We spotted them almost immediately, Miko was trying to tell him stories in an effort to remind him of his love for the sport that took place in their current destination.

"Come on, Lennox, let's do a quick perimeter check." I suggested in order to give them more privacy. We split up, me heading out into the parking lot while Lennox swept the inside of the arena. I didn't see anyone and went to head back inside, but I didn't have to. Bulkhead, who was painting furiously on the walls of the arena, appeared in the parking lot with Miko trailing behind him. I couldn't see what she was saying, but it looked pretty emotional. I jogged over, but before I could reach them, disaster struck.

Right in front of me, two Decepticons rolled up and transformed. They weren't facing me, their attention solely on Bulkhead and Miko, but I instantly knew who it was. My blood ran cold at the sight of a certain red Decepticon.

Miko met my eyes briefly and I could see the panic in hers, but she remained strong. "Follow me right now or these guys are gonna steal the formula!" I heard her shout. The two of them took off, Bulkhead transforming as they disappeared into the dark parking lot. I quickly ducked inbetween some trucks and took off in the direction they had gone. I just hoped that Lennox was okay.

I hadn't made it more than five rolls down when I heard the thudding of Cybertronian footsteps. I froze, feeling my heart jump to my throat. Quickly I squatted down and crawled under the nearest truck. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." The taunting voice of my nightmares called out, almost whimsically. I could feel the rising panic as the footsteps got closer and closer. Then I heard what sounded like the creak of a truck being lifted before slamming back down. He was checking under them!

Afraid I'd be captured again, my panicked brain tried to figure out a solution. It was then that I realized I could climb onto the cab and, if done so right, I could hold on and stay out of sight if my hiding spot was lifted. I did so quickly, ignoring the jamming of car parts stabbing into my arms, legs, and rib cage. The truck nearest to me lifted suddenly before slamming down with a loud bang. I held my breath, bracing for my turn.

The truck tilted upwards and I strained to hold on. It wasn't easy and the force of gravity did all it could to make me lose balance and expose my position. Still, I refused to give up. When the truck slammed down, I felt the breath whoosh from my body on impact, nearly losing my grip. My head slammed into the underside of the truck, causing a brief flash of pain. I knew I'd have a nasty headache but at least I wasn't discovered.

I waited a few more seconds to make sure Knock Out had moved out before I let my grip lessen and unsteadily fell to the ground. A wave of dizziness hit me, but I shook it off. Now wasn't the time. I crawled out from underneath the truck and, when I went to stand, I felt something thud against my chest. That reminded me of the necklace Ratchet gave me and that made me want to hit myself in the head for being so stupid! I pushed the bottom before carefully inching to the front of the truck and peeking around. I couldn't see any moving objects so I figured it was safe enough to keep going.

Carefully running in between vehicles, I rushed past row after row hoping to come across the one that held Bulkhead and Miko. I also hoped Lennox was around here somewhere. Though it turns out I needn't be worried about him. We nearly collided as I passed between vehicles and he was coming through a row.

"Lennox! Thank Primus you're okay. Have you seen the other two?" I asked him in a whisper.

"Negative. When we ran into the two Cons earlier, they didn't spot me when Miko and Bulk took off. I figured I'd wait a minute then follow after them as sort of an element of surprise. Unfortunately I lost them pretty quickly." Lennox explained, his face pinched tight with worry for our other friends.

"Don't worry, we'll find them." I assured him fiercely. "I've also alerted the others to our location via my necklace. Ratchet knows if I use it, then there's an emergency. We just have to wait for the others to appear."

He nodded in understanding. "Then let's go find our friends. We can hold off the cons until reinforcements arrive once we have them secured."

I agreed with him and we quickly took off once more.

It only took another five or so rolls for us to run into Miko. From there, we practically ran into Breakdown. We tried to back away from his view when we realized we'd messed up, but unfortunately he'd already seen us. "Shit!" I squeaked when he picked up a monster truck and threw it directly at us. I grabbed Miko's wrist and pulled her hard out of the way. The trucks slammed into the ground with a loud bang, sending chunks of metal and stone everywhere.

"Breakdown, forget the humans. Games are only fun to play when you're winning." Knock Out said, looking at some kind of tracker on his wrist. They took off then, heading straight for the direction we had yet to go. We exchanged looks before taking off after them. Bulkhead transformed when they approached, spouting off more of the formula as he began painting Knock Out. "You painted my paint job! Prepare for surgery!" He growled, extending his claws in anger.

I skidded to a stop several feet away, my mind instantly transporting to that day, when I received my own surgery from Knock Out. Everything around me faded away as I felt the slice of his blade, tearing apart muscle and tendons as it cut through my flesh until he reached the bone of my leg. My breathing became heavy as I saw that wretched wretch appear in his hands, jamming into the open wound and breaking my bones.

Everything around me seemed to tilt on an axis and black spots filled my vision. Someone was shouting my name but they sounded so far away. My vision tunneled, the sound of blood rushed in my ear and it took all I had not to collapse. Then someone grabbed my arm and I nearly screamed in terror.

It took me half a second to realize though that it wasn't the cold metallic feel of a Decepticon, but the softness and warmth of a human hand. Lennox stood in front of me and he tried to help me breathe though the attack I was currently experiencing. It took me a moment to truly focus on him but as soon as I did, I was able to follow his example and slow my breathing.

My vision cleared and the rising panic slowly ebbed away, though my heart never stopped racing. I was brought back to the present in time to see the red beam of data jettison into the sky from Bulks head. "What did I miss?" I asked coarsely and Lennox smiled in relief that I was back. We ran over to Mikos side by Bulks head. He was passed out. Knock Out scanned him then

"Dead battery." He growled at the results. "Megatron will peel our paint for losing that data." The two cons turned their attention to the three of us, Breakdown saying that they were going to peel us instead. That's when the Decepticons medic's eyes found mine "Jessica." He sneered. "It looks like we'll just have to take the Allspark back to Megatron instead. That might save our hides." Knock Out finished and they drew their weapons.

We took a step back. However I took a deep breath and stepped forward once more to stand in front of Miko. As terrified as I was at that moment, I knew it had to protect her no matter what. They seemed pleased by this however.

Knock Out went to reach for me but I was prepared this time. I jumped up before he could grab me, launching myself from his closed fists, and slammed my leg into his chest. He cried out in surprise when he was flung backwards several feet and landed on his aft. I landed back down in a perfect crouch and sneered at him. "I'm not an easy target this time around, dickhead."

Both cons were surprised by my attack but that didn't stop them long. Knock Out stood back up and came at me again while Breakdown turned his attention to the other two. "Lennox, protect Miko." I ordered and he nodded before taking hold of Mikos arm and they ran off from the threat, hiding amongst the vehicles once more. I stood my ground, prepared to face Knock Out. I wasn't about to let my fears get the best of me now.

He flew at me, scratching and clawing the air in an attempt to incapacitate me. I dodged each attack with ease, jumping and spinning through the air with grace. It was almost fun, reminding me of the training sessions I had with Cliff and the twins. Only this time, it was real.

I could tell Knock Out was getting more and more frustrated the longer the battle persisted. I knew I just needed to hang on a little longer, the Autobots would be there soon.

Sure enough, the sound of a ground bridge opening sounded near us. I was relieved when everyone but Ratchet and First Aid came running through. Cliffjumper immediately spotted me and took off faster than the others to get to my side. Knock Out immediately transformed and peeled away, Breakdown not far behind him.

Cliff reached my side and picked me up. "Seriously?" Was all he said, sounding unimpressed. I just shrugged helplessly. I had no words to defend myself with this time.

Miko was now crying loudly beside Bulk, catching the attention of the others. Together, they lifted him up and we all returned to base. He was taken straight to the medical bay to be looked over. Exhaustion clung deep in my bones, but I had to know what was going on with Bulk.

"The data has been fully expelled, but Bulkhead remains completely unresponsive." Ratchet was explaining to everyone.

Miko lifted her head up from where she'd been resting it on her knees. "Because the energy took Bulkhead's mind with it, heavenward, lost to the stars." She sniffed. "It's my fault you'll never know the rest of the formula. And it's my fault Bulkheads gone forever."

"Miko, you're quick thinking prevented the formula from falling into Decepticon hands." Optimus informed her. Arcee added that if anyone would have backed that play, it was Bulkhead.

Ratchet continued by telling her it was simply too early To know the extent of his condition. "Something as simple as a familiar sight or smell, perhaps even a sound, could trigger Bulkheads awakening."

I instantly recognized Mikos idea look. She hopped up and grabbed her guitar and amp to hook up. Then she loudly played the same chord from earlier, the one she said was Bulkhead's favorite song. We all waited to see if that would succeed in waking him up. At first, it didn't seem like it had. But after several seconds, his optics lit up. The monitor began buzzing and he let out a groan. Miko leaned forward hopefully, calling out his name.

The mech in question fully came online then, sitting up and mimicking the cord she just played. "I love that song!" He cheered as he played an air guitar. His eyes looked around the room before landing on his charges. "Miko?" He asked and they both exchanged smiles.

Thank goodness he was okay.

After everyone greeted Bulkhead, we all split off. Lennox decided it was time for bed. He'd certainly had a long day, going into two battles with the cons in such a short amount of time. Bulkhead left to take Miko home. Everyone else went off to do their own thing.

Cliff set me down finally. He and Ratchet both looked concerned. "Are you okay, Jessica? We know you faced off against Knock Out again." Cliff asked once the room cleared.

I tried really hard not to cringe but by the looks they gave me, I knew I hadn't succeeded. "I wasn't okay at first. Seeing and hearing him out there brought back so many painful memories. I nearly slipped into a flashback and I for sure had a panic attack. Thankfully Lennox was there. He helped guide me through it and get my breathing calmed back down. After that I was able to face him and even managed to knock him on his aft." I hummed thoughtfully to myself. "I don't think it'll ever be easy seeing him, but I feel like I'll be able to handle it better now. I got to take back some of my power today when I fought him. It wasn't easy, but I did it for me."

Ratchet smiled proudly at me. "I knew you could. I've no doubt you can do anything if you put your mind to it."

"Heh, thanks Ratch." I returned his smile, cheeks warming from his praise. "Now then, I'm literally so tired that I could collapse right here and now. It's been a very long day, so I'm going to head to bed."

They wished me a goodnight and I left the control room to head to my bedroom. Today really had been an emotional day and a part of me worried about how I would sleep that night in my own room. But I was also confident that I could do it. And even if I couldn't, at least I had an incredible support system to help me through anything.

Boom, mic drop! So not a lot of plot was progressed in this chapter but that's okay because the next chapter will be crazy with plot! I've been looking forward to it for so long. I have known about that chapter since the moment the idea for this story was conceived. And let me tell you, I have run through several scenarios in my head, trying to find the best possible way to write the next chapter. And honestly, I am proud of what I have. Now it does need some heavy editing. I also want to finish chapter twenty-four and write twenty-five, which will be the final episode of the season. Just give me a week, potentially two if it gives me trouble. It will not be three years, I promise. I am going to finish the season, damn it. And I am so close!

Until the next chapter my lovelies!
