Deathwing: I will, don't worry.
Now, on with the story.
Space. Time. Reality.
It's not a linear equation, but a prism of infinite realities. Where a single choice can branch out and create whole worlds, different than the ones you know.
I am the Watcher. I am your guide to these strange new worlds. Follow me and ponder. . .
What if?
What if Asset 87 (The Spinosaurus) was in Jurassic World?
Most of our stories thus far have started around the week Jurassic World has fallen. Whether it be the cause by the Indominus or the Scorpios Rex.
This story has a different beginning and like the one with Toro, we are focusing on a dinosaur, while genetically modified, is not a hybrid.
Five years after the opening of Jurassic World. . .
Isla Sorna, 127 miles from Isla Nublar. . .
12: 45 am.
Four helicopters with the InGen logos flew over the jungle of Isla Sorna in the night. These weren't civilian workers that were intending to come to the island and see dinosaurs despite the governmental restrictions on the island. No, these men and women were mercenaries sent to Site B to capture live dinosaurs and bring them to Jurassic World on Isla Nublar.
In two weeks, they have already captured Ankylosaurus as well as Compsognathus and Stegosaurs. Just enough specimens for the geneticists in Jurassic World, mainly Dr. Henry Wu to clone. They also captured two Ceratasaurus.
This wasn't going to be enough. So they set their sights on the island's Apex Predator. It wasn't any of the Tyrannosaurus Rexes on the island, or an Allosaurus or Arcocanthosaurus or even Giganotosaurs. There was already a Tyrannosaurus in Jurassic World.
No, what they were now hunting was Spinosaurus aeygpticus, dubbed as Asset 87 by InGen scientists who made the spinosaurae without the higher ups knowing about it. The biggest carnivore to roam the prehistoric rivers in northern Africa. At nearly 18 meters, the biggest carnivore that ever lived.
An eleven ton Colossus.
Other than a massive typhoon that forced InGen to abandon Site B, the Spinosaurus was very aggressive due to inhumane endurance experiments and was the main reason to force Ingen to stay away from the island all together. This apex predator grew up to personally hate humans and Tyrannosaurus Rexes on the island as well as make multiple species on the island go extinct. Again.
For almost five weeks now, the Spinosaurus proved to be a more difficult dinosaur to sedate with tranquilizers due to its thick hide. Asset 87's hatred for humans was also made abundantly clear for stopping at nothing to hunt the InGen hunting party once he got wind of the humans on the island and killing almost two thirds of the original hunting party.
This earned a nickname for the Spinosaurus from the survivors.
"I got eyes on the target," says one of the gunmen on the lead helicopter, spotting movement in the canopy below. And catching a glimpse of a familiar sail fin. "Repeat, I got eyes on the Grim Reaper. Heading northeast towards the canyon."
Below the helicopter flock, Grim Reaper ran through the jungle, his green eyes glowing in the darkness with burning hatred, his three long claws curled and clenched as he ran. He growls to himself. "I've enjoyed this little game, you hairless primates but now it's the final match." He looks back at the helicopters. "There's only two ways this ends tonight."
"Either I die or every single one of you dies." he declared. He turns to roar at the helicopters that have been chasing him. "I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win. Are you?"
He looked ahead and for about two miles through the jungle before he broke through the treeline into a grassy meadow and roared at the sleeping herbivores, Corythosaurus and Parasaurophlosus along with Triceratops and Stegosaurus. "Wake up, you plant eating fatasses! Time for your midnight runs!"
"It's the Spinosaurus!" Cried the Corythosaurus as they woke up with a start.
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" shrieked the Parasaurophlosus as they rose to their feet and ran away in terror.
"GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!" shouted the Triceratops as they too ran from the Apex Predator as did the Stegosaurus. "EVERY DINOSAUR FOR THEMSELVES!"
You know what I've noticed in this Multiverse? Most scientists have focused on the intelligence of Velociraptors and other dromeosaurae species. They rarely think about the intelligence of the larger carnivores. Or not at all.
The helicopter pilot leader noticed the stampede occurring. He also realized something else. "Ground team! Move!" he shouts to his headset. "There's a massive stampede heading your way. Evasive manuevers!"
Yes, the Spinosaurus used the chaos of a herbivore stampede to take out a vast part of the InGen ground team. For the survivors?
The Grim Reaper snatched a woman in his jaws and chomped her to shredded meat. He pins a man down with his hand and rakes his claws down the man's back like he was raking leaves. He did it with just enough force so that the man would live to experience the sensation of Asset 87's claws running down his chest again and again for three minutes before he finally stopped screaming.
If that's not enough of an image, think of Deadpool's "By-Bye-Bye" TVA massacre.
It would take nearly five months for the Spinosaurus to be captured by InGen's forces and transported to Isla Nublar. And ten months before Jurassic World had the Grim Reaper on display for the public.
How, you may ask? By having him go fishing instead of huntings using a river that would fill with live fish (Salmon, tuna, bluegill) even feed him a couple of sharks like the Mosasaurus to show the masses.
In a dark alley, running alongside Jurassic World Main Street, Claire Dearing jogged to the massive steel door of a massive paddock with a flare in hand. She held a radio to her face. "Lowery! Lowery! Are you still there?"
Lowery answered the call in the empty control room. "Claire! Hey, where are you?"
"I need you to open Paddocks Nine and Ten!" Claire said urgently.
"Paddock Nine? And Ten? Are you kidding?" Lowery asked after checking the contents of the paddocks.
Claire came to a stop in front of the massive paddock door. She brought her radio up. "Damn it, Lowery, be a man and do something for once in your life."
Damn, she sure sounds like she's been holding that in for a while.
Lowery looked hurt. "Why do you have to make it personal?" Reluctantly, he turned to his keyboard, steeling himself. He typed in the command codes, hesitated, and hit ENTER twice.
Alarms blared, prompting Claire to crack her flare, lighting up the night as the massive steel door rose in front of her. She did her best to control her breathing as she stood still.
BOOM. . . BOOM. . . BOOM. . . BOOM. . .
Footsteps thundered from Paddock Nine. Puddles rippled. The beast in the paddock drew dangerously near.
"Who dares to disturb my slumber?" Rexy growled as she leaned down to look at Claire, or rather to the flare in her hand. "Ah, a flare. Feeding time again?"
As if in response, Claire turned and ran back toward Main Street, holding the shining flare out behind her.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex stomped after her, following the light knowing that it meant food.
Meanwhile, the Indominus Rex reached her long clawed forearm into the merchandise booth, trying to reach Owen Grady and the Mitchell brothers, Zach and Gray. Her claws hooked onto Gray's dork pouch belt but his brother managed to unclip it before she could pull Gray out.
"Damn it," she growls in frustration. "First those six kids, now this one? Why can't I have a Jurassic World kiddie meal?"
Claire ran onto Main Street and threw the lit flare at the Indominus before running to the side and diving for cover. The hybrid turns to her direction and hisses at the massive thermal signature behind her. "What's this?"
SMASH!
Rexy crashed onto Main Street, breaking through a Spinosaurus skeleton display. She then roared at the Indominus. "This is my territory. You are not welcome here."
The Indominus straightened up and roared back at the Old Queen. "Your reign is over, old one. You are a relic. Time for the old guard to be replaced."
Owen looked over to Claire who lay on the ground. She glanced back. Owen then glanced up at the roaring predators.
"That is not your decision to make," Rexy roared back. "Stand down, young one. Now!"
"No! I've gone too far to turn back!" roared the Indominus. "This is my kingdom! My destiny!"
"So be it," Rexy roared and the two predators rushed at each other. Rexy clamped her jaws on the Indominus Rex's neck.
The predators grappled at one another with their jaws before the Indominus began to slash at Rexy's neck and face with her long claws. The Old Queen roared defiantly before she was thrown to the ground by the younger hybrid. She began to roar in pain before she was dragged and slammed her face into the merchandise booth where Owen and the boys were hiding.
Owen pushes the two boys away from the Rex's jaws before Claire screams to him, "RUN!" He looks to the Old Queen as she pushes herself to her feet. "Go! Go!" he shouts, ushering them to run out of the hole.
Rexy tried to snap her jaws at the Indominus before she body slammed onto the merchandise booth, flattening it completely while Owen and the boys ran over to Claire. Rexy lifted her head up and roared weakly in pain. "I'm getting too old for this shit."
The Indominus approached the downed Rex and held her down by the throat. Rexy laid her head down, accepting her defeat. The hybrid placed her other hand on Rexy's head and opened her jaws intending to clamp down on the back of her skull.
"Oi! Two legged Albino Crocodile!" screeched Blue, getting the hybrid's attention. "I'm still alive, motherfucker!"
Just before the blue stripped Velociraptor beta charged, she and the Indominus detected the scent of someone else approaching Main Street.
(Whistle of Death-Puss in Boots: The Last Wish)
BOOM! . . . BOOM! . . . BOOM! . . . BOOM!
The Grim Reaper let out a loud roar just as he was stepping out of the shadows. "Is beating old ladies what the new generation thinks will make them the Apex Predator?"
Fear spread through Owen's being as his face paled. He had heard stories about the Grim Reaper from the surviving ACU troopers. He observed the predator himself and knew it was one of the worst ideas the board ever came up with, maybe moreso than creating the Indominus Rex. He turns to Claire. "This was your idea?"
"He, uh, was supposed to show up at the same time as the T-Rex did," Claire said sheepishly.
"Well, well. If it isn't the Indominus Rex," the Spinosaurus said, looking at the hybrid's reflection in a window across from him before turning to face the Indominus. "In the flesh." he gives her a crocodile smile.
"Uh, Nope." Blue shook her head, stepping away.
"Who are you?" the Indominus Rex asked, stepping away from Rexy.
"It doesn't matter," The Grim Reaper said. "All that matters is that I am your enemy. And I heard about you and your killing spree from a couple of little birdies. So, you want to be the Apex Predator? How about I give you a real challenge."
"Finally, a worthy opponent," growled the hybrid before she roared. "Our battle will be legendary!"
"No, our battle will be forgotten, because no one will remember you." roared the Grim Reaper and then he and the Indominus Rex charged at one another slammed their heads like bulls before the female hybrid moved around the Reaper's long jaws and bit down on the red and gray scaled Saurian's neck and pushed him down as he roared in pain. Thankfully for the Grim Reaper, his thick scales prevented the Indominus Rex's teeth from doing much damage.
Growling, the Grim Reaper forced himself to rise back to his feet as the Indominus held onto his neck. He moved around, almost walking in a circle while roaring, his tail knocking down a fake tree.
Spinosaurus lowered down before throwing his upper body back, shrugging off the Indominus before landing on all fours and snarling at the white Saurian who roared back in response. The red Saurian rises back up and snaps his jaws at the base of the Indominus's tail before slashing his claws at his opponent's leg, leaving three claw marks on her thigh.
The Indominus sidesteps out of the Grim Reaper's next few claw slashes before swinging her tail at the red and gray Saurian's snout before he jumps forward to slam his head into the Indominus Rex's ribs.
The Indominus recoiled from the hit from the blow but quickly maneuvered around Asset 87's jaws and then clamped down on his neck. She then placed her hands on his back and his snout.
"Trying to use my own move against me?" the Grim Reaper growled out. "That would have worked on a Rex, but not me." He then slashed his claws at the Indominus's neck and chest.
The younger hybrid recoils from the attack before responding with her own claw slash. With the claws of a Therinzosaurus, mismatched as they are, the deadly claws leave behind three massive scars on the Spinosaurus.
"Ha! I hardly know any dinosaur that left me scars," the Grim Reaper laughed before grabbing the Indominus's face in his hands and then throwing her to the wall of one of the Jurassic World cafes. The Indominus slides down before swinging her tail to whip in the Grim Reaper's face.
The whip didn't hurt as much as she would have liked. Shrugging off that little sting, the Spinosaurus clamped his jaws on the appendage, dug his claws into the flesh before throwing the Indominus down the street.
Just as the hybrid lifted herself back up, Blue reappeared out of the dark. She jumped up and latched onto the Indominus's back, sinking her claws in.
The hybrid snapped her jaws at the lone Raptor. "That's it. Prepare to join your sisters!" she roared before she was tackled by Rexy, slamming into a concrete building, denting it.
"Let's go!" Blue screeched as she jumped from the Indominus and onto Rexy's back as the Old Queen pulled the hybrid away from the building-
-and into the jaws of the Grim Reaper who then slammed her face first into the building that was behind him before throwing the hybrid across the street-
-Just as Rexy was pulling on her tail and threw her into the wall of another building. Blue jumped onto the Indominus only to be quickly thrown off, across the street and she crashed through the window and slid in front of Owen, Claire and the Mitchell brothers. She ignored the humans and ran back out the broken window.
By the time the four humans ran out of the building, they see Blue running in between the legs of the three large predators and then Rexy shoves the Indominus face first into a tower that was already on fire. The structure collapsed and combusted on the hybrid's face. Rexy then threw the Indominus to the ground.
As she rose up, the Grim Reaper slashed his claws across her left eye. "My eye!" she roared before Blue jumped onto her head and tried to slash at her other eye before she was thrown off by the Indominus shaking her head.
Rexy then bit down on her neck and shoved her onto the lagoon border fence with a thunderous crash. Three metal bars were now stuck in her left shoulder, her left eye was blinded and she was covered in scars and bite marks. But she forced herself to stand defiantly before her three opponents.
Blue, Rexy and the Grim Reaper roared together, united by an unnatural common enemy.
"It doesn't matter if there's three of you!" she growled, lowering into a fighting stance. "I am the Indomitable Queen! I am the Apex Predator and I will take you ALL ON-!"
"You talk too much," the Grim Reaper growled as he ran up and tackled the Indominus off the edge of the lagoon boardwalk and the two fell into the water.
SPLASH!
The Indominus kicked and clawed, but she couldn't escape the grip of the Spinosaurus as he swam deeper into the lagoon with her.
"Welcome to my nightmare," the Grim Reaper growled as he swam in the water like a crocodile.
"Food?" the Mosasaurus asked, swimming toward the two dinosaurs.
The Spinosaurus looked over to the massive marine reptile and growled.
"Understandable, have a good night," the Mosasaurus turned around and moved away from the dinosaurs.
The Grim Reaper swam to the bottom of the lagoon and then held the Indominus down as she struggled in his grip. "Tell me something, Indominus Rex. Do you fear death? Do you fear that dark abyss? All your deeds laid bare? All your sins punished?"
". . . Go to Hell. . . " the Indominus growled weakly. The Spinosaurus placed his claws on her neck.
"Where do you think I come from? Look into my eyes. I want to see you die."
He didn't have to wait long.
The Grim Reaper broke through the surface while the Mosasaurus swam to feast on the Indominus Rex. The Spinosaurus hauled himself to the lagoon stadium stands, scaring away two camp counselors and a certain Carnotaur that were close by.
He shook himself before looking over to Blue and Rexy that looked over to his direction.
Rexy snarled. She was weakened by injuries, but willing to keep fighting. Blue was uncertain if she should fight. The Spinosaurus stared back before letting out a yawn. "That's enough for tonight." he declared. "Rexy, little Raptor. Be seeing you."
Rexy snorted before turning away and lumbered off into the night. Free to roam the island.
Two days later, only six humans remained on the island. They came to Main Street, looking for food and other supplies, including an Emergency Distress Beacon.
Roughly a day later, they would find out that Rexy was free to roam the island from her paddock.
"A T-Rex lair," Darius Bowman says out loud as he and the members of Camp Cretaceous watched Rexy kick dirt onto her pile of rubble and trees. "They found fossils, but she never did this when the Park was open. We're witnessing new behavior."
Just then they heard the roar of the Spinosaurus. "Open up, you stupid piece of shit! Release your fish!"
Scooting over to look into Paddock Ten, the campers saw the Grim Reaper banging his fists onto the steel door at the far wall.
"That door opens up a river filled with like three shit tons of fish," Kenji Kon said, explaining what he had learned from his time at Jurassic World before the Fall of the Park. "The river runs in a loop through the paddock in the walls, allowing the fish to move around."
"And the Spinosaurus wants to fish." Darius muttered. "We'd be witnessing Spino's fishing habits. This is great!"
He notices the other campers giving him looks. "This is terrible," he corrected himself, trying to sound like he wasn't excited. "The two most dangerous predators are living next to Main Street!"
It wasn't as terrible as it seemed. They managed to activate the EDB and open up the fish river for the Grim Reaper to feast on for weeks, but they also made Asset 87 aware of their scent. After finishing all the fish, he would follow their scent before getting distracted with some. . . closely related cousins.
The Grim Reaper looked down at two Baryonxs. One had a dark brown back with a dark yellow underbelly. The other had light brown scales with a bit of yellow.
"Could you help us?" the darker Baryonx asked hesitantly. "Our brother is somewhere on this side of the jungle and my sister here has a Stego thagomizer in her leg."
"Scram kids, don't bother me." growled the Spinosaurus as he walked away. He walked for a bit before he felt his scars stinging in slight pain. He grimaced and made his way to a river that had a bank made out of natural clay. He reached down to grab a handful of the clay and ran it along his scars.
He heard some movement on his left and saw the two Baryonxs approaching him still. The two young spinosaurae-Limbo and Chaos, as Sammy Guiterrez would later name them-crouched down low and crawled to the Spinosaurus like a pair of young crocodilians. A low warning rumbled in the Grim Reaper's chest. "Don't come any nearer," he said plainly, "or I'll keel you both over!"
Limbo and Chaos understood. They both lay as if dead, their noses and hands and bellies flat on the river bank. The Grim Reaper went about treating his scars with mud and clay. When his green eyes returned to the Baryonxs, the two smaller spinosaurae were within three feet of him, squirming flat in the sand and whimpering softly. The Grim Reaper lifted his right hand four inches higher. "Another inch and I'll give you both welts!" he growled.
Limbo wriggled and trembled; he licked his snout, half in fear and half pleading for mercy and in spite of the Spinosaurus' lifted hand he crawled his way another six inches nearer, Chaos following him.
There was a sort of a rattle instead of a growl in the Grim Reaper's throat. His clawed hand lowered ever so slightly. He looked around and about, sniffed the air; he growled. "Now where the devil are these kids' parents?"
Limbo crept close to the Spinosaurus's wounded shoulder. He rose up, and his nose caught the scent of the wound that was barely raw. Gently, his tongue touched it. It was like velvet, that tongue. It was pleasant to feel and the Grim Reaper stood there for many moments, making neither movement nor sound while the two Baryonxs licked his wound. He lowered his clawed hand down completely. He sniffed the smaller spinosaurae of friendship that had come to him. Chaos and Limbo whined. The Spinosaurus growled, more softly now. It was no longer a threat. The heat of his tongue fell once on Limbo's head and once on Chaos's.
"Come on!" he said and walked into the river.
And close to his heels followed the two young Baryonxs.
For the next two days, the Spinosaurus travelled with Limbo and Chaos through the jungle before they heard the cries of the third Baryonx, Grim.
The Grim Reaper and the two Baryonxs walked through the jungle before coming across Brooklynn Colin of the Nublar Six.
"That's new," Brooklynn said, looking up to the Spinosaurus and the two Baryonxs that stood before her.
"I prefer the phrase 'back in fashion,'" the Grim Reaper said before roaring at Brooklynn who ran the way she came.
Brooklynn ran all the way to the dinosaur nursery towards the arguing Darius and Sammy. "Run! Run! Run!" she shouted to the Dino Nerd and Cowgirl of the Nublar Six frantically as she ran past them.
The two saw why she was running. A Spinosaurus and a pair of Baryonxs. Darius and Sammy began to run away from the predators as well, screaming their heads off.
"Just when I think I wouldn't have to see you hairless primates again!" the Grim Reaper roared as he chased after Brooklynn and Darius.
The two children climbed one of the dinosaur holding cages and escaped the jaws of Limbo. However, the Spinosaurus was taller than the cages.
Brooklynn and Darius recoiled and jumped away from the Grim Reaper's jaws and then jumped to the next cage. The Spinosaurus moved to run after them, only to trip over a couple of containers and slide on his belly on the ground.
Darius and Brooklynn then hid between two large crates and the Grim Reaper tried to squeeze his way through but couldn't go any further.
"Damn lovebirds!" he roared in frustration. "Looks like the power of love has granted you protection from my teeth!"
Darius threw some random junk at the Spinosaurus's face before picking up a frying pan and swung it at the Grim Reaper's snout.
CLANG!
The Grim Reaper paused in his roaring and looked down at the African American boy in shock and half offended. "Did you just-?"
"THESE!" CLANG! "AREN'T!" CLANG! "CROCS!" CLANG! "They're sketchers!"
"Reaper! We found our brother!" cried Chaos and Limbo. "He's in a cage! Help!"
The Grim Reaper pulled back to see the third Baryonx with dark blue scales was indeed locked in a cage. He growls to Darius and Brooklynn. "I'll deal with you kids later."
He then stomped over to the caged Grim and began to rip the cage open with his claws.
"Brother! Sister!" Grim shouted to his siblings.
"Brother!" cried Chaos and Limbo.
Grim then paused to look up at the towering Spinosaurus. The Grim Reaper leaned down to look at Grim before letting out the same growl he did to Chaos and Limbo.
"They're like a family," Darius said to Brooklynn and Sammy. "Which makes sense since they're of the same family tree."
The Grim Reaper looked over to them with narrowed eyes and snarled, "This is the part where you run away now."
After letting a Stegosaurus so it could reunite with its own herd, the three teens did exactly that. Spinosaurus wouldn't encounter the Nublar Six again and would instead spend time with Grim, Chaos and Limbo.
He would teach them how to fish like a spinosaurae.
"Okay, we're standing in the water, now what?" Grim asked as he and his siblings stood in knee deep water of a river behind the Grim Reaper who stood in the deeper part of the river.
"Now, we stand still as a rock and not make a noise," the Grim Reaper replied.
"But we're not doing anything!" Chaos protested.
"Exactly," the Spinosaurus rumbled. "It makes the fish forget you're alive and they will swim in close. Now, shh."
The four spinosaurae would catch fish for three hours to fill their stomachs.
And he would also hunt with them.
Late at night, the Grim Reaper would slowly approach a grazing herd of Triceratops on all fours, quietly as possible. Grim, Chaos and Limbo would follow his example, copying his approach, walking on all fours and all.
"Stay in the shadows," the Grim Reaper said to the Baryonxs as they approached closer.
Then he would make his attack. Once separating a Triceratops, he lectures his young proteges. "While the prey is distracted, the three of you attack from the sides and-"
Before he could finish, Rexy charged out of the jungle, grabbed the Triceratops by the neck and brought it down with a killing bite.
"What the-? Hey! That's my kill! I had it where I wanted." the Grim Reaper roared in anger.
Rexy lifted her head up, licking the blood off her lips. "Sure, you had it," she said. "I didn't waste my time talking and went for the kill."
"You only killed it because its attention was on me!" hissed the Spinosaurus. "And what are you doing in my territory?"
"A girl can't get a late night snack?" Whatever happened to the 'ladies first?'" Rexy asked teasingly.
"Chivalry's dead," the Grim Reaper growled.
"Then how about honor among thieves?" Rexy asked next.
Spinosaurus leaned in close to the Old Queen. "There is no honor of stealing someone else's meal."
"Can I say something?" Limbo asked.
Both Rexy and the Grim Reaper looked at him. "No!"
"Okay, good talk," the middle Baryonx lowered his head down. The Grim Reaper felt a bit bad roaring at his protege like that but dismissed it and turned back to Rexy.
The Old Queen was slowly lowering her head while holding eye contact with the Spinosaurus. He shakes his head at her slowly. Rexy opened her jaws ever so slowly and took a bite of the dead Triceratops, eye contact not breaking as she gulped the meat down her gullet.
"Do that again, and you will not live to regret it," growled the Grim Reaper.
Mischief, defiance and something else seemed to glint in Rexy's eyes before she leaned down, bit on the Triceratops and then began to drag it away. "My kill, my meal."
The Spinosaurus was seething in fury as he watches the old Tyrannosaurus Rex dragging the Triceratops away.
"Well, I guess she lives up to the name of Tyrant Lizard," Chaos declared.
"How about we just stick with fishing?" Grim asked. The Grim Reaper turns to give him a withering glare. . . before he exhaled heavily.
"Yeah, sure. Let's go to the coast this time."
Soon, the Grim Reaper would stop seeing the three Baryonxs as his proteges and rather as family. He was happy.
Unfortunately, life would remind him that nothing good lasts forever.
It would have been a normal day of hunting and fishing before the Baryonxs told the Grim Reaper about encountering the human children again. This time they had travelled with another child covered in dirt with a spear and a young Ankylosaurus.
The Spinosaurus had met Ben Pincus and his Bumpy companion a few days prior after he had encountered a burnt Carnotaur named Toro.
"Do you think fighting me with a pointy stick will make you a man?" the Grim Reaper roared to Ben who roared back defiantly. "Well, I will give you this. You will die, braver than most."
And then Bumpy showed up before he could kill the child and sent him sliding down the hill.
"It's over Spinosaurus," Bumpy bellowed as she and Ben stood on top of a boulder that made them equal height with the Grim Reaper. "We have the high ground!"
"You underestimate my power!" the Grim Reaper growled before the Ankylosaurus turned around and tail whipped him in the face. He falls down, knocked out.
Apparently, the Grim Reaper realized. The High Ground is more powerful than I ever could be.
Grim, Chaos and Limbo killed an adult human that chose to fight them with a stick that had a bolt of lightning captured in the tip.
Rest in peace, Hap.
Later that night, the four spinosaurae slept together in a small clearing before the peaceful slumber was disturbed by a loud noise.
BANG!
The Grim Reaper woke up, instantly recognizing the noise. A gun. He looked around. That sounded close. "Reaper?" Grim lifted his head up.
"That was a human invention," the Grim Reaper said to the dark blue Baryonx. "It brings pain and death. It's best you don't-wait, where's Chaos?" he asked upon noticing that he was missing a third of his children.
"Huh? Wha-?" Limbo lifted his head up in confusion. "Chaos? Chaos?"
"Sister?" Grim called out.
The Grim Reaper caught the scent of the missing Baryonx as did her brothers who followed the Spinosaurus into the jungle.
And then they found Chaos on the ground, blood surrounding her head. The Grim Reaper knelt down and nudged the Baryonx with his snout. "Chaos? . . . Chaos?"
The world slowed down as the Spinosaurus's mind flashed back to his life back on Isla Sorna. When he lost his mate to a human with a gun.
Shock, sadness filled his being as Grim and Limbo nudged their dead sister and then it burned into rage and fury. He leaned back and roared to the heavens.
He then charged forward, following the scent of Chaos's killers and smashed his way through the perimeter fence, ignoring the electricity that went through his body and then sprinted at full speed after the human scent.
He ran past Rexy and then chased a whole herd of herbivores back to the watering hole, caught the scent of Chaos's killer on Yaz, Kenji and Sammy and briefly chased them before they got away in the chaos. He roared in fury as the children rode away on Bumpy.
"Reaper!"
The Spinosaurus stopped roaring and looked to see Rexy standing at the edge of the clearing. She gestured with her head into the treeline.
Narrowing his green eyes, the Grim Reaper stomped over to her and then followed the Old Queen into the trees where he found an adult human male hanging upside down from what looked to be his own rope.
"Well, isn't that ironic?" the Grim Reaper chuckled darkly. "I guess the hunter can be trapped." He breathed in deeply as Mitch tried to fire his gun but it was broken to use.
"I just LOVE the smell of FEAR!" he roared in the face of the paling Mitch. "What's the matter, life flashing before your eyes? Good. . . Good. . ." He opened his jaws and clamped down on Mitch, pulled him along with his rope and tossed him to Grim and Limbo. "He's all yours."
He kept on walking as Grim and Limbo tore Mitch in half and swallowed him in one gulp. He sniffed another human scent on the ground and followed it to a man made dock.
He sees Brooklynn and Darius and the boat that was moving away. He looks back down to them. "You wish to leave the island?" he asked. "Very well. I will give you a chance to leave with your friends. I will not sink this ship like the other one. But first, I must fulfill my fatherly duty of revenge for my lost daughter."
He steps over the two children and into the ocean and swims after the boat. He swam around it and slammed his body against it. Once it stopped, he rose up and forced the cockpit open with his claws before ripping off to reveal a terrified Tiffany.
The Grim Reaper lunged forward as she tried to crawl away but he clamped down on her leg with his jaws and pulled her out of the boat. He shakes her back and forth like a dog before carrying her to the shore and dropped her where Grim and Limbo were waiting.
"You killed our sister," Grim growled as he bit down on Tiffany's left arm.
"This is going to hurt you. A lot." Limbo snarled as he bit her other arm while she screamed.
"And we are going to enjoy it. Every. Second. Of. It." The Grim Reaper hissed as he slowly sank his claw into her back bit by bit, making her scream louder. Then ever so slowly, he dragged it down her back.
