Part 11: Troy's gift

December 21, 2014; Mercedes-Benz Superdome...

Talon rolled his wheel-chair down the halls of the Superdome with Alto and Troy walking beside him as he looked around, Troy volunteering for patrol of the game between their two teams today. More of the gauze was unwrapped from Talon's body, stitches covered just in case. Not to mention unlike the Saint's Rusher, Talon wasn't wearing his team's uniform, wearing warm baggy cloths as to not irritate the stitches.

Talon: Thanks again for asking the others if it was alright to see my team before the Holidays.

Alto: Well the boys wanted to see you in person for a while, think this is the perfect time to do it.

Talon: I agree but...why are we here early? The game doesn't start till 1:00.

Troy: *smiles* You'll see.

Talon, though confused, nodded as they continued down. Alto couldn't help but see Talon shiver, but it wasn't from the cold.

Alto: You, going to be okay wheeling? Your shiver every time you touch the wheelchair.

Talon: *small smile* Yeah, just need to get use to my hands showing. Been wearing my gloves all my life 24/7, so my hands are sensitive. Freefall said with some time that sensitivity should lessen, but it might be a year or two.

Troy: Understandable, you gotta get use to having your hands in the open and feeling objects outside the gloves. *smile warms* Still, it must be nice not having to wear them all the time.

Talon: *smiles grows* Oh no argument, I've never been so calm not wearing my gloves.

They reach the door to the visitor's locker room, Troy opening the door as Talon wheeled in the dark room.

Talon: By the way where is my team-

The lights flicked on-

..

SURPRISE!

Talon eyes widen seeing all members so his team smiling and cheering, the visitor locker room decorated for the winter holidays...and Talon couldn't help but smile with tears.

Talon: How did you-

Arthur Blank: Alto told us you got the okay, so we wanted to make sure everyone in the franchise was here. *walks over;kneels down* Your looking better buddy.

Talon: -sniffs- *wipes eyes* T-Thanks, Freefall has been doing checks up on me. Oh man I'm so happy to see you all here and..*looks away abit* Sorry for scaring you all there, especially you and Matt with uh..well, THAT.

Matt Ryan: *walks over* We're just happy you healthy and alive, but next time don't hide something that major from us.

Talon: I won't, promise.

A rumbling sound was heard, Talon sheepishly blushing as he nervously chuckled.

Talon: Forgot about breakfast-

Troy: Good, cause the team brought somethings over.

Talon turned his head seeing the table with food on it, eyes widening recognizing some of them.

Josh Wilson: *chuckling* Paschal did a long distance deliver for this occasion, heard your story and wanted to surprise you.

Arthur Blank: *smiling* I did promise to get you all the peach cobblers to your heart's desire. This is just part one.

Talon: *hungry* I am really glad I missed breakfast.

With that the team laughed as Talon rapidly wheeled his way over with them.

.

.

Hours later...

Troy couldn't help but smile the whole time Talon talked with his team and ate with them, his smile growing every time he ate a cobbler or drinking tea. Troy and Alto had left him alone to catch up with the Falcons, as the Guardian had one more thing he needed to to. He went down to Talon's office, setting the wrapped present on the coach.

Troy: Hope you like it Tals.

With that he left the office to prepare for his duty at the game.

..

Talon: Thanks again for helping me down here guys.

Arthur and Matt smiled as they wheeled Talon inside, the game just an hour away. Talon wanted to grab some paper work he was working on before, everything happened.

Matt Ryan: Of course, that was a really fun little party there. Never seen someone down so many cobblers with a fork and knif-*curious* Hey, look.

All three looked to see a wrapped present on the coach. Talon wheeled over, seeing the present was red with a white ribbon placed on the side.

Talon: A present?

Arthur Blank: *walks over with Matt* Must be for you *points to the tag, has your name on it.

Talon, curiosity growing, took the present from it's spot and placing it on his lap. He shivered at the sensation of his hands feeling the wrapping, gentle tearing the paper off. Matt and Arthur helped with the unwrapping, freeing the box from the paper.

Matt Ryan: You alright Talon?

Talon: Just surprised at the feeling, still need to get use to having hands showing and not having thick gloves on...I, will admit i do miss having gloves on. Kinda was my staple, *grabs the lid* but those were destroyed with all that blood *lifts it* So i-

Talon quietly gasp dropping the lid fast, Arthur and Matt looked in and whistled.

Arthur Blank and Matt Ryan: *interest* Nice.

Inside were a pair of black gloved, lined with red and white. All three noticed that the gloved had the ability to be fully gloved or fingerless, as Talon lifted one up.

He could feel the fabric in his hands; soft and light, yet durable and strong. He could feel every detail that was laid on the glove.

Talon: *awe*...Who-who gave me these?

It was there he saw a note in the center, cautiously lifting it up and opening it.

Talon: *reading* "Dear Talon; While I have no idea what happened that caused you to have such a serious surgery, I know it's going to be a bit before your one hundred percent. So, with Peck's help, these bad boys were made. I had a feeling you would feel a bit off not having those gloves on, but you would also want them to be more out in the open. So they have the ability to be either fully gloved or fingerless. Hope you like them".

Talon smile grew as he had a feeling on who was the one who delivered Stamp

Talon: Heh, think I don't need to worry about that anymore.

.

.

Alto was looking around the field of the Falcon Rusher, worry on his face.

Alto: Talon where are you the game's going to st-

?: HEY ALTO!

Alto turned in relief, that relief turned to interest seeing Talon wheeling over wearing new gloves on his hands beaming.

Alto: *interest* Hey, nice gloves there Tals. Where'd you get them?

Talon: Thanks, and you can thank a certain fan of yours.

Both looked up to see Troy patrolling the area. Troy turned and saw the two Rusher, waving to them as a smile was hidden behind the armor. Both Rusherz smiled and waved back.

Alto: Kid's got a good eye for detail, looks great on you.

Freefall was looking at a screen, going over every single detail.

?: FREEFALL...Games *lifts his head up* right up here.

Freefall: Huh?

Pete was next to Freefall as the Seahawk Rusher returned to reality blinking.

Freefall: O-oh yeah, sorry about that coach. Still worried about Talon.

Pete Carroll: Understandable, not everyday you go though an experience like that. But you gotta take it easy too.

Freefall sighed as he closed the screen nodding.

Freefall: Yeah, your right. Last thing i want is to get sick. Thanks Coach.

Pete smiled as he sat next to Freefall, the game on hold to review a call.

Pete Carroll: Of course, you and the others had a roller coaster of a year. Hopefully for the next season it won't be as eventful, except for the fiftieth Super Bowl.

Freefall chuckled nodding.

Freefall: Oh yeah, next's year a big one. Can't believe it's going to be that long since the Great Merger, so much has happened since then.

Pete Carroll brought Freefall in a one arm hug, his smile growing.

Pete Carroll: And there be plenty more memories to come Freefall, we're be right with you all every step of the way.

Freefall smiled warmly as the review finished as the teams went back on the field, Pete putting his headsets on as he got up.

Pete Carroll: Well then, let's focus on the present right now. These games won't play themselves.

Freefall: *jumps up* RIGHT!

With that they went to the team ready to play the game once more.

Evening; HOK...

Stampede: *on call* Yeah game wasn't the best today Mr. Pegula...*chuckles* sorry, Terry, but I will say you and Kim have been taking your roles as owners fast; Especially with uh...*bits his lip* what happened with Talon.

Stampede had gotten home after a lose against the Raider, however his mind was focus on helping the new owners of his teams adjust to the 'Rush Zone Life'.

He and the others were pleasantly surprised on how fast they adapted to all the events, especially since none of them knew at the time the two who helped in the search for Liberty back in May would win ownership.

Stampede: *on call* Talon? He's doing better since that day, stitches are starting to fade too. This was his first day back watching the games in person, so everything is going good so far.

Stampede smiled, Talon wheeling over fast grinning.

Stampede: *on call* Alright, talk to you two later you have a good Holiday...Bye! *Hangs up*.

Talon: *joy* STAMPS HEY STAMPS LOOK!

Stampede turned, surprised to see the new gloves on Talon's hand.

Stampede: *interest* Hey, nice gloves Talon. Where'd you get them?

Talon: Troy surprised me with them before the game. *looks at them;beaming* Their so cool! Can be fingerless or fully gloved too, so I can wear them throughout the season!

Stampede smile grew as Talon looked at the gloves, his smile growing as Freefall went over.

Freefall: Troy gave you them? *Talon nodded;smiles* I was wondering what he was doing with Peck. Looks great on you Talon.

Stampede: Yeah, and it has a neat style and design as well.

Talon: *joy* Thanks!

?: WHOA TALON! You got new threads!

Talon turned seeing Freedom, Soar, Cyclops and Spot coming over; wheeling over to them.

Spot: Whoa, nice gloves Tals!

Talon: *joy* Thanks, Troy did the design and Peck made it reality.

Cyclops: Man, this is defiantly his finest work here.

Soar: I bet everyone at the game really like the new treads.

Talon: They did, will say this helped with the whole stitches situation here; Was a great distraction too. Still, I'm going to wear these bad boys often no questions about it.

Freedom: *warmly smiles* I like that idea, they suit you Talon.

Talon smile grew as Stampede and Freefall watched on in smiles. It was a amazing surprise that Talon was able to get new gloves that not only would help him with his recovery, but also something to make his own staple.

And the fact Talon was smiling more and more...that was a gift of it's own right.

To Be Continued...
