Ch 9 Some Good News
"Simba please say something," Sarabi said, her voice shaking with emotions. "You're worrying me."
"He's alive," Simba said softly. "But barely. He need medical treatment at once."
"Den it is a good ting dat I am here," Rafiki cried out, suddenly popping up. Simba, Sarabi and Sarafina looked over at the old monkey with surprise.
"How did you..." Simba began.
"I had a feeling dat I would be needed," Rafiki explained as he worked to stop the bleeding in Kopa's side. "And I always listen to dese feelings. Dey have never been wrong before." After what seamed like forever Rafiki was finished. "Der dat should stop de bleeding."
"Is he going to be alright?" Simba asked as he gently picked his in injured son and put him on his back.
"Luckily de bite wounds did not hit any major organs," Rafiki said. "He will have some scars but I do not see any reason dat he will not be fine in a few days."
"Thank the Kings for that," Sarafina breathed.
"And I have some good news," Rafiki said. "De Queen is awake. She has been asking fer you all."
"Thank you Rafiki," Simba said with a smile. "We're heading home right now. There's some serious things that need to be talked about." With that Simba headed back towards Pride Rock with Sarabi and Sarafina right behind him.

A little while later Simba had returned to the nursery cave and to his great joy he saw Nala wide awake and holding Kiara and Kion between her paws. Simba smiled at his mate as he approached her and gently placed the injured Kopa on the ground. "Oh Simba what happened?!" Nala cried out as she saw her injured newborn.
"Zira tried to kill our son," Simba explained to his mate. Just then Rafiki began to work on Kopa more and Simba backed away to give the mandrill some space. The golden King sat beside his mate as they both watched helplessly as Rafiki worked on their newborn son.
"Oh Simba how could this be happening right now?" Nala whispered, laying her head on Simba's shoulder.
"Its my own damn fault," Simba said softly. "I should have banished Zira long ago. She's obviously still Scar's mate after what just happened. I was just the fool that believed she wasn't. And now it may cost our little boy his life." Simba's voice caught in his throat and he tried his hardest not to break down completely.
"Oh my poor darlings," Sarabi said as she and Sarafina went up to their children and pulled them close. "Darling this is not your fault," Sarabi said as she licked Simba's cheek and gave him a loving nuzzle.
"Yes it is Mom," Simba said, his voice muffled by Sarabi's fur. "I should have listened to you and not allowed Scar to live. I should have never gotten involved and taken Nuka away from Zira. I should have..."
"You should have what let Zira kill that poor child?" Nala asked, looking at her mate. "You did the right thing by rescuing Nuka from Zira."
"I took her son away from her Nala," Simba said. "And she decided to repay the favor."
"Simba Zira is obviously crazy," Nala said. "I think this would have happened no matter what we would have done." Simba opened his mouth to say something when Rafiki approached the group, who all looked at him with anticipation.
"De Prince will be just fine," the old monkey said with a smile. "As I was saying before luckily de bite wounds did not damage any internal organs. He will be just fine in a week or so."
"Thank you so much Rafiki," Nala said with a smile as Rafiki gently placed Kopa between her paws.
"And now I will check on de Princess and de oder Prince," Rafiki declared as he examined Kion and Kiara. After a few minutes Rafiki said with a laugh, "Dey are getting stronger everyday."
"As soon as Kopa is healed we'll have a presentation for them," Simba said, smiling down at his children.
"I will be back tomorrow to check on everyone," Rafiki said as he exited the cave.

A week past and Rafiki deemed that all three cubs were strong enough for a presentation. So all the animals were gathered at Pride Rock to see their new Princess and Princes. Since Kopa was born first he would be the heir so he was presented first. Rafiki held the creamy coated Prince high in the sky for all the animals to see. The animals all cheered and bowed down to their future King. After spreading juices on Kopa's head Rafiki turned to Simba, who had Kion in his mouth. Rafiki took Kion from Simba and handed Kopa to the King. He then took Kiara from Nala and held both cubs high for all the animals to see. The animals once again cheered and bowed down to the newborn Prince and Princess. Rafiki then handed Kion back to Simba and Kiara back to Nala, who took their children back inside the cave to rest.

Meanwhile back in the Outlands Zira was furious. The tan coated lioness had learned that Kopa had survived her attack on him. "Damn that Simba to Hell!" Zira roared, slicing a nearby log in half.
"My lady what's the plan?' Cala asked, her head lowered. Cala and Shida had reluctantly brought Kovu and Vitani to Zira in the Outlands. This was only after the other lionesses that were loyal to Zira forced them to. But the two lionesses were secretly glad that Zira's plan had failed. Cala had just found out she was pregnant two days ago and Shida had found out she was pregnant not long after the triplets were born.
"We wait," Zira said, surprising her friends. "Once Kovu is older I will begin his training. And of course once your brats are old enough they'll train along with him."
"Zira I would appreciate it if you didn't call my child a brat," Shida said, glaring slightly at Zira. But Zira paid the light beige lioness no attention as she went over to her sleeping six week old children. Shoving Vitani to the side Zira pulled Kovu close.
"Don't you worry my son," Zira said softly. "Mother will see to it that you get what you deserve. And so will Simba. He will rue the day he crossed me!" With that Zira let out an evil laugh and thought with glee about her revenge on Simba.

The next day Simba was up early watching the sun rise. After the sun rose the golden King decided t get an early start on his rounds so he could spend most of the day with his family. Before he left Simba decided to check on Scar. As he neared the cave where Scar was to his surprise he heard Scar talking with someone. "You had better not be double crossing me," Scar was saying.
"I can assure you Scar there is no double cross here," a voice said. Simba thought he recognized the voice but he couldn't be sure. So he decided to get a better look. Being careful not to make any noise Simba crept closer, hoping to see who was talking with Scar.
"How can I be sure you won't foul things up," Scar was saying.
"Look Scar either you trust me or you don't," the voice said, sounding irritated. "I'm not like those idiot hyenas you foolishly allied yourself with."
"Never bring those idiots up again," Scar growled.
"Whatever Scar," the voice said. "You don't scare me." Simba peered around the corner, trying to see who the traitor was. He could almost get a good look when suddenly someone hit him hard on the back of the head, sending him into a world of black.
