Ch 14 Time Slowly Passes By
Kion closed his eyes and waited for the pain. But instead of pain Kion heard the sounds a roaring followed by the sounds of fighting and cursing. Kion felt a nose press into his said and he heard a familiar voice call his name. Opening his eyes Kion found himself looking into the concerned eyes of Nala. "Mom!" Kion cried out, throwing himself into Nala's chest fur.
"Oh Kion thank goodness you're alright," Nala said as she wrapped her paws around her youngest son and licked his head. Then the Queen noticed the blood that was coming from Kion's chest. "Oh Kion you're bleeding!" Nala cried out, the worry and fear clear in her voice.
"I'm alright Mom," Kion said, his voice coming out very soft. "I..." But Kion's vision was getting blurry and everything was spinning. Kion vaguely heard Nala call his name before everything went to black.

Kion head faint voices all around him. He heard his mother's pleas for him to open his eyes. But as much as Kion wanted to open his eyes he couldn't muster the strength to do so. Kion let out a groan as he snuggled into someone's chest fur. "Kion," came Simba's soft voice. "Son if you can hear me I need you to open you eyes."
"Yeah c'mon bro open your eyes," came Kopa's pleading voice.
"Please Kion," came Kiara's shaky voice. "Please wake up brother. We need you." This did the trick for Kion and he let out another groan as he slowly opened his eyes. After blinking a few times Kion saw the concerned faces of his family staring down at him.
"What," Kion croaked out. "What happened?"
"Oh Kion we've been so worried about you!" Nala cried out, gently nuzzling Kion.
"Yeah bro you've been out for three whole days!" Kopa cried out.
"We thought you were a goner!" Kiara piped up.
"Bunga," Kion said after a minute. "Is Bunga alright? He was with me when Zira attacked."
"Your friend is just fine Kion," Simba said. "He got quite the bump on the head but he'll be just fine."
"Phew that's a relief," Kion said with a sigh.
"Honey why did you leave Pride Rock?" Sarafina asked gently. "You know you weren't supposed to leave just yet."
"Yes Kion that was quite foolish of you," Sarabi chimed in.
"Mom Sarafina now's not the time for this," Simba said firmly. "Kion just woke up. He needs time to clear his head."
"No its alright Dad," Kion said. "I...I know it was really dumb of me to leave Pride Rock. But I...I was so excited about finally making a new friend that I wasn't thinking about anything else. I'm really sorry." Kion lowered his eyes in shame as he was talking.
"Its alright son," Simba said, rubbing Kion's back. "This isn't entirely your fault."
"It isn't?" Kion said, looking at his father with surprise.
"No its not," Simba said. "I should have let you and you siblings explore two weeks ago when you three turned two months old. But I was so afraid that something would happen and I let that fear win. I'm so sorry for that."
"Does that mean we can leave Pride Rock?" Kopa asked, his voice high with excitement.
"Yes," Simba said, looking at Nala, who nodded in agreement. "As soon as Kion is stronger you three will be able to leave Pride Rock."
"Yes!" the triplets cried out, embracing their parents.
"Thanks Mom and Dad!" they said together. Simba and Nala let out chuckles and embraced their children back. The rest of the day was spent planning the day when the triplets would venture out on their own.

Two months past and things were going better at Pride Rock. Kion had recovered from his attack and as promised Simba had allowed his children to venture out on their own. Along the way they had made new friends. Along with Bunga they had met a young cheetah named, Fuli, a young hippo named Beshte and a young egret named Ono. Kiara had also met two more cubs her age named Tiifu and Zuri. Kion and Kopa didn't really like hanging out with the female cubs as they tended to be bossy and snooty around them. "You guys are so annoying," Kopa was saying, rolling his blue eyes.
"You're just jealous," Zuri said, rolling her own blue eyes back at Kopa.
"Jealous?" Kopa repeated, arching an eyebrow at the golden brown cub. "Why the heck would I be jealous?"
"Because Kiara's going to be Queen one day," Tiifu chimed in, narrowing her hazel eyes at Kopa. "And you're not. And once she is me and Zuri will be her ladies in waiting and you'll have to do what we tell you to."
"Boy you guys are dumb," Kopa said with a laugh. "News flash here Tiifu: I'm the heir to the throne not Kiara. I was born first."
"What?!" Zuri and Tiifu cried out, their eyes wide with surprise. Then they turned to Kiara saying, "Why didn't you tell us?"
"Hey its not my fault you two assumed I was the heir," Kiara said with a shrug. "If you would have asked me I would have told you I wasn't the heir." While Kiara, Tiifu and Zuri were having their argument Kion got bored and went to find his other friend. But it wasn't them the golden Prince found. Instead he saw Nuka talking to two other cubs Kion had never seen before. They were smaller than Nuka and one had a tan coat and blue eyes while the other one had a brown coat and green eyes.
"We can't be to long," the boy cub was saying. "Mother will get really mad if she finds out I'm not training."
"Yeah," the female cub chimed in. "And then I'll get the beating for it." She shivered slightly when she said this part.
"You know Vitani," Nuka said. "You and Kovu don't have to go back to Zira. You can always stay here with me. I know my mom and dad would gladly take you both in."
"No," Vitani said, shaking her head. "I can't leave Nguvu He's my best friend." Vitani was referring to Shida's son, Nguvu who was three months old.
"Yeah," Kovu chimed in. "And Hai is my best friend. I can't leave her either." Kovu was referring to Cala's daughter, Hai, who was also three months old.
"Well just know you guys always have a place to go if Mother gets to crazy," Nuka said, smiling at his siblings. Just then the three young lions heard a noise come from the bushes. "Whose there?!" Nuka growled, getting in front of Kovu and Vitani protectively.
"Relax Nuka its just me," Kion said, emerging from the bushes.
"What are ya a spy or somethin'?" Vitani asked, glaring at Kion.
"No," Kion snapped back. "I was bored so I went to take a walk. You guys are Zira and Scar's other kids huh?"
"Yeah," Vitani hissed, still glaring at Kion. "And what of it?"
"Geeze relax will ya?" Kion said, rolling his amber eyes. "I was just asking a question."
"Sorry," Vitani said. "But where I come from you have to be real defensive all the time."
"Sounds rough," Kion said, sympathetically.
"You ain't kidding," Kovu muttered. Kion was about to say more when suddenly Kike and Sasha appeared.
"There you are Kion," Kike said. "Your parents sent me and Sasha to fetch you and take you back home." This was a lie but Kion didn't know this. Kovu and Vitani looked at the sisters with wide eyes and Kike put a paw to her lips.
"Come Kion lets get you home," Sasha said. With that the two sisters left with Kion in tow.
"We've gotta follow them!" Nuka cried out.
"Why?" Kovu asked.
"Because," Nuka said. "If we don't it'll be the death of Kion!"
