Lynn Jr vs Kalani
The group soon arrives in Heahea City; there they try figuring out what they were going to do the rest of the day.
"What now?" asked Lynn.
"I think we can use some fun in the sun." said Lincoln.
"There is a beach nearby." said Mallow.
"Yay!" cheered Shiloh.
"Let's go to the Pokemon Center and get into our swimwear." said Alola Lana.
"That's an idea that I actually like." said Chandler as he leers at Lillie, creeping her out.
Twenty minutes later, the group was on the beach, having some fun. Everyone decides to let their Pokemon out so they can enjoy themselves as well. The Louds also decide to try the sport called Mantine Surfing; with Shiloh and Shelby riding on Mantykes because of their ages. The Louds had trouble doing it at first, but some tips from their Alola friends helped them get the hang of it while Chandler just swam in the water, mainly because he was scared of riding on the fast water Pokemon.
After they all got their fill of fun in the ocean, they all decided to lie on the beach and catch some rays. Right now, Lincoln was rubbing some tanning lotion on Mallow's back when she asked, with his face being completely red; Chandler offered to do the same to Lillie, but she said she was fine, even though she said that because she didn't want his grimey hands touching her.
After Lincoln finished putting tanning lotion on Mallow, he lies on his beach towel between her and Lynn, and closes his eyes to relax; a shadow soon falls over him, making him look up to see a girl with tan skin, long blonde hair that was in a ponytail that looked familiar to him, wearing a white one piece swimsuit, and yellow sandals.
"Alola." said the girl.
"Umm.. Alola." Lincoln replies.
"Mind if I lie down?" asked the girl.
"I'm not the boss of you or this beach, so you don't really need to ask my permission." Lincoln replied.
"Yeah, it's a public beach." said Lynn, making the girl look at Lynn and glare at her.
"What's your deal?" asked Mallow. Lincoln looks at the girl who just looked back at him and winks; he then realizes who the girl was.
"Wait a second; are you Kalani?" asked Lincoln, making Lynn and Mallow glare at the girl.
"What gave it away, cutie?" asked the girl now revealed to be Kalani, making Lincoln blush a bit.
"W-Well, I recognized your ponytail, and pictured you wearing the Hawlucha mask, along with the Hawlucha wing cape and the Hawlucha boots, combined the fact that you... winked at me, and glared at Lynn, I was able to put two and two together." said Lincoln.
"Cute and smart." said Kalani. "So it's okay for me to lie down here?"
"Yeah, but you can't lie next to my bro since both spots are taken." said Lynn with a smirk.
'That's good.' Mallow thinks to herself.
"Oh, I see a good spot." said Kalani. Then, to everyone's shock, she lies right on top of Lincoln and starts nuzzling his cheek, making his face turn red.
"Hey! Get off of Lincoln right now!" yelled Mallow with a face red with jealousy-induced anger.
"But I just got comfortable." said Kalani as she starts kissing Lincoln on the cheek, making a trail of kisses going down to his chin, making Lincoln's blush intensify, and Mallow madder with each one.
"How does he do it?" asked Chandler with jealousy.
Meanwhile, in an alley in Hau'oli City, Rapp was angrily throwing trash cans around, while Zipp and Tupp watch her with fear in their eyes.
"What's wrong with her?" asked Zipp.
"Some hussy is doing something to my cutie! I just know it!" shouts Rapp as she punches a brick wall hard enough to leave cracks in it, making Tupp and Zipp flinch.
Back on Heahea Beach, Lynn has had enough of watching her rival getting too lovey dovey with her brother; she goes over to where Kalani was cuddling her younger brother, wraps her arms around Kalani's waist, and suplexes her into the sand to get her off Lincoln.
'Thank you, Lynn.' Mallow thinks to herself as her face turns back to its normal color.
"Hey!" shouts Kalani. "I wasn't even close to being done with him!"
"That's what you think!" said Lynn as she lunges at Kalani, only for her rival to scoop her up and give her a body slam; Lynn gets up and moves close to Kalani and gets close to her face.
"Get out of my face!" said Kalani.
"Make me!" said Lynn.
"How about a Pokemon battle?!" asked Kalani.
"Fine by me!" said Lynn. "How many Pokemon are we using?!"
"How does three each sound?" asked Kalani.
"You're on!" said Lynn.
"Like how I was on your brother?" asked Kalani with a smirk as she looks at Lincoln and winks at him, making Lincoln blush, and Mallow growl.
"Let's just battle already!" said Lynn.
A minute later, Lynn and Kalani were on opposite ends of the beach while everyone watches from nearby. Kiawe decides to act as the official for the match.
"This is a three on three Pokemon battle between Lynn Loud and Kalani." said Kiawe. "Whichever trainer defeats the other trainer's Pokemon first will be the winner." Lynn and Kalani each pull out a pokeball.
"Hope Loud loses." said Chandler with a grunt, making Shiloh kick him in the shin. "OW!"
"Go, Psyduck!" said Kalani, throwing a pokeball, releasing a yellow, bipedal, platypus-like Pokemon with three strands of black hair on its head. Lincoln pulls his Rotom Phone out of a tote bag and points it at the Pokemon.
"Psyduck, the Duck Pokemon. Using psychokinesis gives it a headache, so it normally passes the time spacing out and doing as little as possible." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That Pokemon looks wimpy just like you, Kalani." said Lynn with a laugh. "Crabrawler, go!" She throws Crabrawler's pokeball and releases her. "Okay, Crabrawler, use Power-Up Punch!" Crabrawler runs at Psyduck while orange energy surrounded her pincer and she hits Psyduck with it, dealing damage; Crabrawler begins surging with energy.
"Psyduck, Zen Headbutt!" said Kalani. Psyduck leaps at Crabrawler while its head glowed blue and it rams it into Crabrawler, dealing super effective damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Screech!" Psyduck lets out a loud yell and releases soundwaves onto Crabrawler, weakening her defense.
"Crabrawler, Rock Smash!" said Lynn. Crabrawler leaps at Psyduck while raising a pincer which glows white; she smashes it onto Psyduck, dealing damage, and weakening its defense.
"Psyduck, Aqua Tail!" said Kalani. Psyduck leaps at Crabrawler while water spiraled around its tail and it strikes Crabrawler with it, dealing damage, and knocking her out.
"Crabrawler's unable to battle. Psyduck is the winner." said Kiawe.
"No way!" exclaimed Lynn.
"Way; that Wave Incense was worth the pokedollars I spent on it." said Kalani.
"Wave what?" asked Lynn.
"It's something that powers up the water type moves of the Pokemon holding it." replied Kalani. Lynn returns Crabrawler to her pokeball.
"Take a break, Crabrawler." said Lynn before she puts the pokeball back on her waist; she pulls another one off and tosses it, releasing her Hawlucha.
"Show her who's boss, Lynn!" said Mallow as she holds Lincoln close to her, making him blush, and Kalani scowl.
"That was my plan from the start." said Lynn. "Okay, Hawlucha; use Wing Attack!" Her Hawlucha flies at Kalani's Psyduck and strikes it with one of his wings, dealing more damage than it normally would have due to its defense being weakened by Crabrawler's Rock Smash.
"Psyduck, use Zen Headbutt!" said Kalani. Her Psyduck's forehead glowed blue as it charges towards Hawlucha.
"Use Detect!" said Lynn. Hawlucha leaps to the side, making Psyduck's attack miss. "Now use Karate Chop!" Hawlucha then swings one of his wing hands down onto Psyduck's head, driving it into the sand, and knocking it out.
"Psyduck is unable to battle. Hawlucha is the winner." said Kiawe.
"Yeah! How'd you like that, chump?" Lynn asked her rival who glares at her. She returns her Psyduck to its pokeball before putting it back on her waist; and without saying anything, she takes another one off her waist and tosses it, releasing a large, silver-colored, boulder-like Pokemon with four arms, two legs, yellow crystals on its body, and a dark gray brow over its eyes.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he holds his Rotom Phone towards Kalani's Pokemon.
"Graveler, the Rock Pokemon, and the evolved form of Geodude. When two Graveler fight each other, it fills the surroundings with flashes of light and sound. People call it the "fireworks of the earth"." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Hawlucha, let's rock this rock!" said Lynn. "Use Karate Chop!" Her Hawlucha charges at the Graveler and swings his wing hand down onto it, dealing super effective damage.
"Graveler, use Thunder Punch!" said Kalani. One of Graveler's hands becomes coated in electricity as it forms a fist with it and punches Hawlucha in the stomach, dealing super effective damage.
"At least Hawlucha's Limber ability makes it so he can't get paralyzed." said Sophocles.
"Hawlucha, use Karate Chop again!" said Lynn, making her Pokemon charge at Kalani's.
"Use Spark!" said Kalani. Her Graveler's body becomes coated in electricity as it charges to counter Hawlucha's attack; the two collide, making an explosion of electricity and dust which forces the spectators to cover their eyes.
"This is intense!" said Lincoln. When the dust clears, Graveler was on top of an unconscious Hawlucha.
"Hawlucha is unable to battle. Graveler is the winner." said Kiawe.
"Ha!" said Chandler. "How'd you like that, Loud?"
"Don't give up, cuz!" said Shane. Lynn returns Hawlucha to his pokeball.
"You rest up now, Hawlucha." said Lynn. She puts Hawlucha's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "I'm counting on you; go, Machop!" She throws Machop's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Machop, use Vital Throw!" Machop runs at Graveler and rams his arm against it; he uses it to throw Graveler onto the sand, dealing super effective damage. "Gotta love that Expert Belt."
"Graveler, Thunder Punch!" said Kalani. Graveler runs at Machop while electricity surrounded one of its hands and it punches Machop with it, dealing damage; he begins to twitch.
"Oh man; Machop's paralyzed." said Lincoln.
"How's that a bad thing?" asked Lynn with a smirk. Machop's eyes glowed red, and a red aura surrounds his body.
"Oh yeah; Machop's Guts ability." said Lincoln.
"Machop, use Low Sweep!" said Lynn. Machop fights through his paralysis and runs at Graveler; he kicks its legs, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Graveler is unable to battle. Machop wins the match." said Kiawe.
"Yeah! Way to go, Machop!" said Lynn. Machop nods and he suddenly begins to glow.
"Machop's evolving!" said Shiloh. Lynn and everyone else watched as Machop begins to grow; when he stopped glowing, he was taller, had big muscles, bluish gray skin, red vertical stripes on his arms, black briefs, and a championship belt around his waist. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at Lynn's newly-evolved Machop.
"Machoke, the Superpower Pokemon and the evolved form of Machop. When it encounters an enemy that's truly mighty, this Pokémon removes the power-save belt from its waist and unleashes its full power." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"All right!" cheered Lynn. "And with Machoke's Guts ability, none of your Pokemon stand a chance against him, Kalani."
"We'll see about that." replied Kalani as she returns Graveler to its pokeball. She then takes her last one off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Hawlucha.
"I was afraid of this." said Lynn as she gets ready for the battle.
"You should be." said Kalani. "Hawlucha, use Wing Attack!" Her Hawlucha flies at Machoke and swings one of its wings at him, dealing super effective damage, and knocking him to the ground; he slowly gets to his feet.
"Use Revenge!" said Lynn. Machoke manages to fight through his paralysis, and an explosion of orange energy erupts from his body hits Hawlucha, making it skid back, but the attack didn't do much damage, and Hawlucha stays on its feet; it brushes its chest before staring back at Machoke.
"I can't believe that Hawlucha is still standing after that!" said Sophocles.
"Hawlucha, use Flying Press!" said Kalani. Her Hawlucha leaps high into the air and comes down, belly first, onto Machoke with such force that it creates a shockwave that makes everyone shield their eyes; when they look back at the battle, Hawlucha was standing over Lynn's, now unconscious, Machoke.
"Machoke is unable to battle. Hawlucha is the winner. The winner of the match is Kalani." said Kiawe.
"Ha! What a loser!" said Chandler, making Shelby stomp down on his foot.
Lynn drops to her knees in shock while everyone runs over to her out of concern.
"You okay, Lynn?" asked Lincoln. Lynn looks over at her family and friends and nods. Meanwhile, Kalani was returning her Hawlucha to its pokeball.
"Well done, Hawlucha." said Kalani. She puts her pokeball back on her waist and walks over to Lynn who was staring back at her.
"Good match, I guess." said Lynn before she hands Kalani half her pokedollars.
"I'll give you credit for having the guts to accept my challenge." said Kalani. "And this is what's gonna happen if we face each other at the Pokemon Battle Royale Tournament in about two months."
"Don't count on that." said Lynn in a bitter voice. As Kalani walks away, she gives Lincoln one more look before blowing him a kiss, making Lincoln blush, Mallow growl, and a loud scream was heard from Melemele Island.
"Well, at least you know what other Pokemon that she has, Lynn." said Lincoln. "Now you can prepare for them."
"At least there's that." said Lynn. "Let's get my Pokemon treated." She returns her Machoke to his pokeball, gets up, and heads towards Heahea City; but not before she punches Chandler in the arm for him calling her a loser.
'I won't lose to Kalani again.' Lynn thinks to herself.
'Kalani better not touch Lincoln again.' Mallow thinks to herself with a frown on her face before she grabs Lincoln's hand, making him blush, and walks towards the city while Chandler watches with jealousy.
"Just you wait, Larry." Chandler says when the others were out of earshot. "I will be the strongest trainer here in Alola, then girls will be flocking to me, especially Lillie." (a/n: Yeah right, Chandler; and Lana Loud bathes on a daily basis.)
Lynn had a match with Kalani that didn't go as well as expected. Will she be ready for her if they meet up at the Pokemon Battle Royale Tournament? What other things will the Louds experience as their Alola adventure continues?
