Welcome to Hearthome City
The group, Mira, and her Abra appeared outside a city, via Abra's Teleport.
"Well, everyone, here we are; Hearthome City." said Mira.
"Where my next gym battle is." said Lincoln.
"And my next Pokemon Contest." said Stella.
"Mine too." said Dawn. Mira returns Abra to its pokeball.
"Well, I better get going; thanks again for helping me out of that cave." said Mira.
"No problem, little dudette." said Luna; Mira walks away from the group and into Hearthome City.
"Hey, Lincoln; you think we can train here before going into Hearthome City?" asked Stella. "The Pokemon Contest there is tomorrow and I want to get ready for it."
"Sure, Stella; I want to train for my gym battle here too." replied Lincoln. Stella smiles before kissing Lincoln on the lips, much to the dismay of Dawn. The group spent their time training their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Monferno learned Torment, his Hisuian Zorua got stronger, his Shieldon learned Ancient Power, his Espeon got stronger, his Buizel learned Double Hit, and his Dratini not only got stronger, during her training, she and Buizel, both froze up and started to glow.
"Hey! Buizel and Dratini are evolving!" said Lincoln. Everyone watched as Lincoln's Pokemon started to change; when Buizel was done, he was taller, his snout, arm fins, and head protrusion were longer, his floatation sac was longer and hung from his neck all the way down his belly.
"What is he now?" asked Simon. Lincoln points his pokedex at his newly evolved Buizel to get an answer.
"Floatzel, the Sea Weasel Pokemon, and the evolved form of Buizel. Its flotation sac developed as a result of pursuing aquatic prey. Floatzel carries people as if it were a rubber raft." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Awesome!" said Lincoln. Everyone looked over at Lincoln's Dratini and see that her body was longer, her fin ears now looked like small wings, she had a small horn coming out of her forehead, along with a blue orb under her head, plus two near the end of her tail. Lincoln points his pokedex at his newly evolved Dratini.
"Dragonair, the Dragon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Dratini. If its body takes on an aura, the weather changes instantly. It is said to live in seas and lakes." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Cool!" said Sam.
"She looks magnificient." said Stella.
Stella's Roserade, Corsola, and Eevee got stronger, her Beautifly learned Leech Life, her Combusken learned Aerial Ace, and her Bronzor learned Gyro Ball and Hypnosis. She also came up with combinations for future Pokemon Contests.
Dawn also prepared for the Hearthome Pokemon Contest, coming up with combinations. During the training, Piplup learned Whirlpool, her Sylveon got stronger, her Buneary learned Baton Pass, her Swablu learned Sing, and her Quilava learned Defense Curl and Flame Wheel.
Luna's Graveler learned Stealth Rock, her Grotle learned Mega Drain, her Hisuian Sneasel and Eevee got stronger, her Aipom learned Agility, and her Rotom learned Thunder Wave and Shock Wave. As she continued training her Pokemon, she hears rustling coming from tall grass nearby; she looks to see a light purple, humanoid Pokemon with three, flat protrusions sticking out of its head that looked like it was wearing brown shorts and shoes.
"Hey, what's that Pokemon?" asked Luna, pointing at the Pokemon. Sam takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokemon. It is famous for its eagerness to fight and always nurses injuries from challenging larger foes." said Sam's pokedex.
"I'm gonna catch this little dude." said Luna, pulling out a pokeball. "Okay, Grotle, let's go!" She throws Grotle's pokeball and releases him. The Tyrogue claps its hands and releases a shockwave that hits Grotle, damaging him, and making him flinch.
"I think that was Fake Out." said Lincoln. The Tyrogue begins charging at Grotle.
"Use Withdraw!" said Luna. Grotle pulls his limbs into his shell before Tyrogue rams him, but not dealing much damage. "Now use Razor Leaf!" Grotle's legs pops out of his shell and he releases leaves from the trees on his back that hits Tyrogue, damaging it. A light blue aura surrounds Tyrogue's body.
"What's that Pokemon up to?" asked Simon.
"Don't know; Grotle, use Tackle!" said Luna. Grotle runs at Tyrogue and rams him, knocking it to the ground. Luna takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Tyrogue, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicked. "Rock on! I caught Tyrogue!" Tyrogue's pokeball vanishes; Sam uses her pokedex to look up Tyrogue's information.
"This says your Tyrogue's a dude, he knows Tackle, Helping Hand, Fake Out, and Focus Energy; he has the Guts ability also." said Sam.
Clyde's Gallade got stronger, his Psyduck learned Soak, his Leafeon got stronger, his Ninjask learned Bug Bite, his Shedinja learned Shadow Sneak, and his Absol learned Night Slash.
Sam's Prinplup learned Fury Attack, her Luxio and Eevee got stronger, her Kricketune learned Slash, her Golbat learned Air Cutter, and her Onix learned Sand Tomb.
Simon's Croconaw learned Ice Fang, his Aron learned Protect, his Slugma learned Clear Smog and Ancient Power, his Heracross learned Aerial Ace, and his Gible learned Bulldoze.
After a while, the group decided to head into Hearthome and take a look around. They were amazed by the size of the city.
"This place is as big as Jubilife City." said Lincoln. The group walk through Hearthome to try and find the Pokemon Gym and Contest Hall; they find the gym which looked like a tall house with a statue of a Pokemon that looked like a big purple balloon with four long arms, a cloud-like tuft on its head, and a yellow x-shaped mark on its face.
They also find a building that kind of looked like a cathederal, which Stella looks at while fantasizing about her and Lincoln in front of a similar building as adults, wearing wedding apparel, while their friends and families were cheering, and Rusty was crying like a baby.
They also manage to find the Contest Hall that Stella and Dawn immediately run into to sign up for the Pokemon Contest.
"Hello." the receptionist at the front desk said to Stella and Dawn who just walked up to her. "Are you here to sign up for tomorrow's contest?"
"Yes, ma'am." said Stella and Dawn in unison. The receptionist gives them their entry forms that they fill out and hand back.
"The contest will start tomorrow." said the receptionist. "Be here at 10 'o clock."
"Thank you." said Stella.
The group then go to the Pokemon Center to get their Pokemon treated; Lincoln also takes the time to do a quick swap, exchanging his Shieldon for his Stunky. He then heads back to the Grand Underground and goes into a cavern with sand and rocks in it. He turns on the transdimension communication function on his Poketch to contact his family; seconds later, Lisa answers.
"Yes, brother?" said Lisa.
"Hey, Lisa; I'm sending another Pokemon for Lana." said Lincoln.
"Cool!" Lincoln hears Lana say from the background. Seconds later, a small portal appears; Lincoln tosses Stunky's pokeball through it; the portal disappears seconds later. "All right!"
"Is that a skunk?!" Lincoln hears Lola yell.
"He's called a Stunky." replied Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln!" said Lana.
"It better not sleep in our room, Lana!" yelled Lola.
"Oh, and there's a Pokemon Contest tomorrow in Hearthome City, which is where we're at right now." said Lincoln. "Make sure Stella's parents know."
"Sure, son." said Lynn Sr. After Lincoln ends the call, he was about to leave the cavern when he sees a tan, hippo-like Pokemon with brown patches on its body, walking by. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Hippopotas, the Hippo Pokemon. It enshrouds itself with sand to protect itself from germs. It does not enjoy getting wet." said Lincoln's pokedex. Lincoln pulls out a pokeball.
"Since I don't have one of these, I might as well catch it." said Lincoln. "Buizel, go!" He tosses Buizel's pokeball and releases him; the Hippopotas sees them and faces them. "Okay, Buizel, use Aqua Jet!" Buizel becomes surrounded by water and flies at Hippopotas, ramming it, and dealing super effective damage. Hippopotas runs at Buizel while its teeth glowed white and bites Buizel, damaging him.
"Okay, Buizel, Double Hit!" said Lincoln. Buizel leaps at Hippopotas and hits it twice with its tail, damaging it. Hippopotas digs into the sand and disappears. "Where did it go?" As he and Buizel look around, Hippopotas bursts out of the ground from below Buizel and rams him, knocking him into the air. "Water Gun, Buizel!" He releases a stream of water from his mouth and it hits Hippopotas, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Hippopotas, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicked.
"Yes!" cheered Lincoln. He looks up Hippopotas' information on his pokedex. "This says Hippopotas is a boy, he knows Tackle, Sand Attack, Bite, Yawn, Sand Tomb, Dig, Crunch, and Sandstorm; he has the Sand Stream ability which creates sandstorms when he enters a battle." After returning Buizel to his pokeball, Lincoln exits the cavern and soon returns to Hearthome City.
Back in Royal Woods, Rusty was walking down a sidewalk, twitching, and looking around nervously. Behind a bush, Lana and Stunky were waiting.
"Ready, Stunky?" asked Lana; Stunky nods in response. When Rusty got close to the bush, Stunky jumps in front of him, surprising him and turned his backside towards him.
"I got a bad feeling about this." whimpered Rusty. Stunky sprays a foul-smelling liquid from his backside at Rusty. Later in the Spokes residence, Rusty was furiously scrubbing himself in the bathtub that was filled with tomato juice.
