I'm not American, I don't know if Massachusetts would be a good place DJ would be from and also I kinda just realised that all the campers were from Canada but I forgot so pretend they live in America
I might probably add this and another chapter to finish the story off
and I'm a sucker for Gweather so I made Heather hug Gwen
It was edging towards the midst of December and snow had finally started falling weather silently cheered. Although the overbearing sun is gone now, that doesn't mean Gwen still didn't have to take her finals test. It starts just two days after Christmas and she'd been overloading herself in work. It got to the point she was too busy to even leave her apartment.
But finally, she had been able to have a break and that was when she took Ace on their walk. While she was walking Ace, she bumped into a massive figure and she fell over.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I just didn't see you." a person apologised as they offered their hand to help Gwen up. Once he helped her up, he noticed Gwen suspiciously eyeing him as he looked down. Then it hit him. "Gwen?"
Gwen stopped eyeing him, recognising the voice. "DJ? That you?" She joyfully asked. She hadn't spoken to DJ in a long time.
"Yup. It's good to see you again." DJ responded.
DJ and Gwen gave each other a quick hug before Gwen pulled away.
"I thought you didn't live around here... Massachusetts, right?" Gwen inquired. "Couldn't even recognise you at first?"
DJ nodded. "Yeah, still in Massachusetts. Well, I came over to meet up with a couple of buds around here. Is this your dog?" He questioned pointing at the energetic dog, trying to jump onto DJ. He bent down to the dog as he played with the dog. "What's its name?"
"His name is Ace." Gwen responded.
After playing with the dog for a while, DJ stood up and stared down at Gwen. "Well y'know Geoff, he's hosting a Christmas party. It's just the day before and at the same place like last time. If you're down to join I could send you the details. Do I still have your number?" DJ inquired, checking his phone. "Oh yup, I do. So, you wanna come. It'll be fun and a nice reunion for the rest of the cast."
Gwen paused to think. It could be a good break but meeting the cast again? "Um... I'll think about it and let you know. I'm kinda on a time crunch right now so I got to take Ace for a walk before continuing to practise for my finals. So, I've got to go. Bye Deej." Gwen waved as she walked off.
Christmas Eve. There Gwen stood as she awkwardly entered the party. No one had noticed her entrance since everyone was busy partying and reconciling with their old cast friends. The party was more larger due to the fact that Geoff had invited all of the Ridonculous Race cast as well. Most of them. Everyone had driven long hours and some even flew to join the reunion party.
Gwen decided to tag along since she had nothing better to do. Since she couldn't be able to meet her family for Christmas and birthday the next day, she decided to come to the party.
As she was looking around for someone she knew, she couldn't help but see Courtney smiling at her. That was strange... Gwen started fidgeting with her dress at her is she going to do? I shouldn't have come thought but her thoughts were interrupted by someone pulling her in a hug. The most unexpected person to be hugging her.
"It's been like, forever!" Heather stated, hugging Gwen as she darted her eyes at Heather confusedly. Heather pulled away. "What? You act as if you don't miss me."
"No, no, I'm just surprised by your gift of affection, Heather. Never could've expected that." Gwen responded.
Heather flipped her hair behind her shoulders as she smiled. "Well don't expect it on a daily basis. I just haven't seen you in a hot minute."
"Thanks Heather." Gwen responded.
And then Gwen was engulfed in another hug. A way tighter and suffocating one. "Oo girl you came! I'm so glad!" LeShawna squealed, still hugging onto Gwen. Heather snickered as she watched Gwen trying to pull away from the firm hug. LeShawna finally let Gwen down and smiled. "C'mon, let's go to the dance floor!" LeShawna stated, grabbing Heather and Gwen by the arm and dragging them to the dance floor and started 'dancing'. But she quickly stopped noticing the snickers from the other two girls. "What? Jealous you guys can't do the same moves as me?"
"Oh yeah, totally." Heather responded, rolling her eyes. "Because we all know you're the best dancer here."
"I might need some lessons, LeShawna. It's hard trying to keep up with those moves of yours." Gwen teased.
"Ha-ha. Very funny but don't get mad that your lousy moves can't compete withthis." LeShawna retorted and continued dancing.
Heather and Gwen glanced at each other before shrugging and dancing along. It had been a long time since the three girls hung out all together as they reconciled their friendship after All Stars but probably met up once in a blue moon and called on rare occasions. Their dancing was interrupted by Courtney tapping on Gwen's shoulder. Gwen turned around and seemed cautious before finally agreeing to Courtney and telling the other two girls she'll come back soon. Once Gwen and Courtney found a quiet spot, Courtney started.
"I called you over about All Stars." Courtney started. "And look, after some thinking I kind of realised how much of a jerk I was and not only in that one instance of using you. I'm just trying to apologise for all of those things as I've came here to apologise to a bunch of people about it."
Gwen, who seemed a bit stunned cracked a small smile. "It's all good. I also did some pretty messed up things too like stealing Duncan. I'm sorry about that."
"About that... I think back on the podcast it seemed like I liked Duncan but I guess I just didn't let go of the situation. And if you do go back with him, I'll support you. Although I don't think we should speed up our friendship."
"Yeah, we kind of just rushed it back then. And thanks for the support but I'm not going back with Duncan." Gwen responded.
Courtney nodded in agreement, not pressing the Duncan situation. She had a gut feeling they would get together. "So apology forgiven?" Courtney asked, opening her arms out for Gwen. Gwen agreed and hugged back. "It's good to be back to normal." Courtney added.
Gwen nodded, happy that she isn't in 'war' with Courtney anymore. "I guess... Um, I'm meant to go back to Heather and LeShawna so I'll talk to you later, alright? Later!" Gwen waved, walking back to her two friends.
It was half an hour after Gwen had come to the party when Duncan also arrived. As soon as he walked in, he was immediately greeted by Geoff and DJ stumbling over to greet him. Geoff tripped onto Duncan and placed his hands on Duncan's shoulders and beamed at him and said:
"Dude! You made it! What took you so long! Let's go hit the drinks, man!" Geoff yelled, walking off to his in-home bar.
DJ and Duncan watched Geoff tumble over some people at the party as they glanced back at each other. "Guess he's had one too many drinks?" DJ shrugged.
"Come of dudes! Pick up your speed!" Geoff yelled.
Once the other two boys headed over to Geoff who was gulping down his hundredth drink of the night, they joined him, quickly into the rhythm into the dynamics of the trio. As all three were drinking and joking around, they stopped when they saw Harold dancing and a smirk grew on their faces, giving them flashbacks to back in Island. Harold was dancing all the way to the dance floor so the boys followed him and as they stood near the dance floor to plot out their plan. Just like old times.
Duncan looked at the two as he explained the plan. "Alright. Got the plan."
Geoff and DJ nodded as a new idea struck Geoff. "Got it. But we could make it more epic by adding..." Geoff started to explain, excitement bubbled around him.
Meanwhile, Duncan turned around to place his drink on the table next to him. He didn't notice the ground until he heardhername.
"You gotta put more effort into following these moves!" LeShawna called out, dancing her heart out. In front of her was Gwen and Heather who was trying to mimic her moves. "Come on Gwen!"
Immediately, Duncan snapped his head in that direction to see the sight. Gwen had given up following LeShawna and done her little dance. Something about it intrigued Duncan and he watched with a smile on his face. So ignoring Geoff and DJ, Duncan rested his arms on the table and had the most cheesiest, biggest smile on his face. Not even a smug grin; a happy one. He leaned his his head on his hand and admired Gwen. It brought nostalgia to when him and Gwen were dating.
"Duncan?" DJ interrupted, tapping on Duncan's shoulder.
Duncan, who had forgotten about DJ and Geoff's existence fumbled over, knocking over the table and face-planting onto the ground. "Woah dude, what was that about?" Duncan snapped.
"You were staring at the crowd as if you've just fallen in love." Geoff responded.
Still on the floor, Duncan shook his head. He's not in love with Gwen. "I didn't fall in love, dorkus." Duncan retorted, staring back at Gwen. She was still dancing and glanced at Duncan for a moment. And he had this really weird feeling swarming over him and smiled back.
"You're doing it again." Geoff commented.
"Shut up!" Duncan snapped.
DJ nudged Geoff, having a clue of what was going on. Once he nudged her, he leaned in to whisper to Geoff. Not that Duncan would notice since he was admiring Gwen. "Think he's staring at Gwen."
Heather was dancing with her two friends when she heard a giant thud. She looked over to see Duncan staring with a huge smile and having his head in his hands. She had a feeling it was for Gwen. Then, she stared at Geoff and DJ who were looking at Duncan with a perplexed expression.
thought in her head. It was quite obvious who Duncan was admiring.
DJ and Geoff were clearly puzzled, so without drawing attention, Heather discreetly pointed over to Gwen. Gwen and LeShawna were too caught up in their dancing to notice her gestures as Heather pointed emphatically. DJ caught sight of Heather and raised an eyebrow, trying to piece it together. Still confused, Heather pointed at Duncan, then back at Gwen. Finally, the lightbulb went off for DJ, and he understood the message and nudged Geoff to share his new understanding.
A new idea struck Heather as she pulled Gwen away from LeShawna.
"Gwen and I need to be talking about something. Be right back!" Heather stated, dragging Gwen out before LeShawna could utter a word. Heather walked past the three boys as she signalled them to follow her with Duncan. Then, she looked back at Gwen. "Come on Gwennie!"
Meanwhile, Duncan finally broke out of his stance as he slowly stood up. Next thing he knew, he was being pushed by Geoff and DJ.
"Where we going?" Duncan questioned as Geoff and DJ pushed him. "Hey, stop shoving me, man. I can walk on my own."
DJ, who was the only person knowing what was going on just chuckled as he followed close behind Heather. Not close enough for Duncan to notice he's near Heather or Gwen. "Just go with it. You'll understand later."
"Yeah dude." Geoff added, not knowing what DJ was even talking about. He just saw Heather eye DJ and Geoff and assumed DJ would tell him.
Then, Heather halted right in front of the pantry room with Gwen in front of her. She noticed DJ pushing Duncan closer now and Heather opened the pantry room and shoved Gwen in. DJ followed in suit, shoving Duncan in as Heather secured the lock outside of the room.
Heather and DJ high-fived in their success. "Nice going." DJ stated.
"Ohhh, so that's why you were doing that." Geoff stated, finally understanding.
Before they could leave, they heard the door pounding by Gwen. "Not funny, guys! Let us out!" She yelled through the door.
"Yeah, not cool." Duncan added.
Geoff, DJ and Heather smugly grinned at each other. "I think it's time we go now." DJ stated, letting out a couple of chuckles. "Let them settle in."
