Once there was a dog

Loyal and bold, his spirit unbound,

He roamed the wild, where no master was found.

A heart free of chains, his work never lame,

Yet the whispers of wolves called his name.

A wolf with a crown, with eyes cold and sly,

Promised power and riches no gold could buy.

But the dog stood firm, his gaze sharp and clear,

For he saw the rabbit, trembling in fear.

The wolf laid a bet, a challenge, a game,

To protect the rabbit, the dog staked his name.

He lost, and his path was no longer his own,

Now bound to the wolf, his heart turned to stone.

Yet within the circle, as shadows pressed tight,

The dog watched the wolf with eyes full of fight.

He'd guard the rabbit, though the darkness might grow,

For the dog knew the wolf's true nature below.
