A few more weeks passed, and honestly, this was not how I imagined my summer would go. Just cleaning out an old house and eavesdropping on order meetings, it was quite boring. What didn't help was having to give really terrible replies to Harry's letters asking for information. It felt horrible leaving him out on the things we were learning, but we didn't dare betray Dumbledore. Mum visited Percy in an attempt to make him see sense, but as soon as she told him she wasn't there to apologise, he slammed the door in her face! The nerve of him, honestly!

Mum also discovered the extendable ears, and it was pretty unlucky how she did so, as a meeting had just started. Crookshanks went up to the kitchen door and wanted to get in, so she started scratching. Mum had literally only just entered the room, so was still right next to the door, and therefore she opened it, and we didn't have enough time to pull the ear back up.

"What the bloody hell is this?!" she said, and looked up to see the direction of the string, and all of us standing on the first landing. She closed the door and walked up the stairs.

"Explain!" she said

Fred was the first to reply.

"I think it's pretty self explanatory to be honest" he said bravely

"Yeah, we want to use these to hear stuff we should be allowed to hear anyway!"" added George

"There are very good reasons why you are not allowed to hear these things!" Mum shouted, "you are too young!"

"We're of age!" Fred said hotly

"You're still in school!" Mum replied "and all the rest of you are no where near of age yet! We're talking about very violent, dark stuff in those meetings! How long have you been using these for?"

"This was the first time" I said, crossing my fingers.

"Yeah" said Fred, catching on, "we only just finished making these. We haven't actually heard anything!"

"The first and last time!". Mum swept the 3 ears we were using into her hand with her wand. "This will be the last anyone sees of these!" and she stormed away and back into the meeting, slamming the door behind her.

"Damn" said Demelza

"Fortunately" George said "we were prepared for this"

He rushed into the twins room and bought out some more of the ears.

"I don't think that's a good idea" said Hermione "what if she sees them again?"

"I'd have to agree to be honest" Demelza said

"Come on!" Amy said "we're all Gryffindors for a reason, remember!"

"Great point" Fred said, and he lowered the ear to begin listening in again.

On August 3rd, we were woken up at about 2am by a loud tapping noise on the bedroom window. It was Hedwig, who was carrying 4 rolls of parchment. We had been forced into going to bed early by Mum and Steve the previous night in a rather strange way, they both looked very worried about something, but refused to tell us what. They also told us in no uncertain terms to not reply to any letters that Harry might send to us.

"Whazzz going on" Amy said groggily, rubbing her eyes as I opened the window to take the letters.

"Think we might be about to find out what last nights weirdness was" I said

Hedwig resisted me taking two of the parchments, and as they were addressed to Ron and Sirius, I let her go. Strangely, she elected to fly through the house to their rooms before returning to ours and perching on one of the shelves.

The letters all said the same thing, which was the following:

"I've just been attacked by Dementors and I might be expelled from Hogwarts. I want to know what's going on and when I'm going to get out of here"

"What the fuck?!" Hermione shouted

"What?" said Demelza and Amy at the same time

"Harry was attacked by Dementors, and might be expelled from Hogwarts!" I said

Lights clicked on in the hall, and in an instant, Ron and Sirius were in our room.

"Did you hear-" Ron began, his letter still in his hand

"Yes, yes, it's fucked!" Amy said

I rounded on Sirius

"You knew about this didn't you?" I said

Sirius reluctantly nodded

"Why on earth didn't you tell us?!" Ron snapped at him

"Yeah, why allow Mum and Steve to force us to bed early, we should know what's happening with Harry!" I added

The twins, Mum, Dad and Steve now arrived.

"What's all this shouting about? All of you back to bed right now, it's a ridiculous time to be making this sort of noise!" Mum said

"Ron, Hermione, Ginny and I all received a letter from Harry just now, talking about the attack last night! I told you they should have been made aware Molly! Then their shock wouldn't have led to us all being woken up in the night!" said Sirius

"We didn't want them doing anything rash!" Dad said

"Oh and you think they won't do anything rash now?" Sirius replied

"What's going on, what attack are we talking about here?" George asked.

"Harry was attacked by dementors last night, and because he used the patronus charm, the ministry want to expel him" said Steve.

"But that's the only defense against dementors, they can't expel him for that!" Fred said

"You know what the Ministry's like now guys, this shouldn't be much of a surprise. It's clear this is part of a move to discredit Harry further" Demelza said

"Discredit him by doing something that could've killed him! What's wrong with them!" I said

"Many things Ginny, and that's why we're going to bring him here in a few days, it's just gone too far now leaving him with the Muggles. It's almost resulted in both he and his cousin being killed! So don't any of you think about doing anything, and I'd advise against replying to Harry, you can all talk to him once he's here!" Mum said "the order have a plan to bring him here safely, please just leave it to us"

"What about him being expelled though?" Ron said

"Thankfully, Dumbledore managed to convince the Ministry to let that be decided by a hearing, which will happen later this month" said Steve.

"There's no way they can convict him, I'm going to do some research just to make sure, but I'm confident they'll have no case against him!" Hermione said.

"That's a great mentality to have Hermione, but for now we all need to sleep. We can discuss it further in the morning if you wish" said Dad
