Chapter 27: Heavy, Fast, Metal
Flying Mini Battery, Morning Hours
Inside the brand new Flying Mini Battery, Badniks patrolled the area with mechanical precision, their movements synchronized with the rhythm of the ship's humming engines. Their patrol was suddenly broken when they noticed a red biplane soaring through the skies. Their metallic eyes glowed as they armed themselves, ready to engage—but before they could react, a streak of blue tore through the air. In a blur of motion, he smashed into the squad of robots with the force of a wrecking ball, leaving shattered circuits and torn metal in his wake.
Sonic landed with a mischievous grin, dusting off his gloved. Meanwhile, Tails circled the Tornado around, swooping low as he expertly guided the plane into a group of Badniks. The propellers tore through them like paper, sending pieces of metal flying. With a quick maneuver, Tails parked the Tornado on the deck of the ship and leapt out, landing next to Sonic. Both friends high-fived each other.
"Easy," Sonic smirked, flicking a thumb towards the wreckage they left behind.
Tails smiled. "You never miss a beat, do you?"
As the two made their way toward the center of the airship, the metallic clank of their footsteps echoed through the corridors. The duo moved with confidence, dodging traps and smashing through more Badniks as they came.
"This is so nostalgic, don't you think?" Sonic grinned as he spun into another group of Cluckers.
Tails chuckled. "Yeah, but everything feels... compacted." He curled into a ball and spun into an oncoming Clucker, reducing it to scrap metal. "It's like they crammed everything into a smaller space this time."
Sonic laughed. "Just makes it easier to get to the control room and trash the place!"
They continued their onslaught, taking down wave after wave of Badniks with effortless ease. But Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched. Deep within the control room, a shadowy figure sat at the helm, monitoring their every move on a wall of screens. Their posture was tense, his hands clenching the armrests of their chair as they glared at the footage.
On the screen, Sonic was a whirlwind of motion, leaving chaos in his wake as he tore through the ship's defenses. The sight made the figure's hands tighten further, their gloved fingers digging into the fabric of the chair as the image of their enemy moved across the monitors.
To their side Metal Sonic stood, his crimson eyes locked on the same screen, reflecting the image of his organic counterpart with eerie intensity. Every movement Sonic made seemed to spark something deep within his circuits—something more than simple programming.
Sonic, he spat, his eyes narrowing with burning hatred. To see this inferior copy, this impostor, filled him with nothing but seething rage.
"Metal Sonic…" the shadowy figure finally spoke, their voice calm but laced with underlying tension. "I know your hatred for Sonic is even greater than mine, but you must remember—our creator's orders come first. After your mission, that's when you'll have your chance. Until then, you will wait."
Metal Sonic's glowing red eyes flickered in response. His gaze didn't leave the screen, watching Sonic and Tails move ever closer to their location. His entire frame seemed to tremble with barely contained rage, but with a sharp turn, he marched out of the room without a word. The shadowy figure watched him go as they turned back to the monitors. Their expression, however, remained unreadable.
Zao Luxury Ship
Meanwhile, aboard Zao's Luxury Ship, chaos reigned. The once pristine deck had become a battlefield. Lilac, Carol, and Milla fought their way through wave after wave of Eggman's Badniks, each one more determined than the last.
Lilac dashed through the hordes of Cluckers. With a swift twist, she launched into a powerful Dragon Boost, sending the group of robots crashing into the walls of the ship as Lilac landed gracefully, her boots skidding on the deck.
"Seriously, what's with Eggman and making his robots look so goofy?" Carol called out, her voice a mixture of exasperation and amusement. She darted forward and with a flurry of precise kicks, she tore through a squad of Technosqueeks.
"We need to ask Sonic and Tails when they come back!" Lilac replied, her tone light despite the intensity of the battle. She landed beside Carol, the two of them standing back-to-back as another wave of Badniks approached.
Milla summoned a glowing green cube in her hands. "Oh, they're so cute, but so mean!" she exclaimed, launching the cube into a cluster of Badniks. The cube detonated on impact, sending the robots flying in all directions.
Meanwhile Torque fired off a precise shot from his blaster, taking down an incoming cannonball in mid-air. "Keep it up, everyone! We're almost through!"
As they fought on, the endless waves of robots began to wane. The once relentless barrage of cannon fire slowed, and the number of attacking Badniks decreased noticeably. The group looked skyward to see the ship's cannons faltering and the sparks of broken machinery raining down.
"Did... Did we just take out all the robots?" Lilac asked, her voice tinged with disbelief as she watched the final few birds fly away from their robotic prisons. Their happy chirps filled the air.
Torque, scanning the sky with his eyes, finally smiled. "Not only that, but I think Sonic and Tails managed to disable the cannons!" He let out a triumphant laugh, the tension finally easing from his shoulders.
"I knew we could trust them," Lilac thought with a smile, feeling the relief of victory wash over her. They had done it.
Milla, caught up in the moment, jumped up and down with excitement. But then, something caught her eye. Out of the corner of her vision, she noticed a blue figure falling from below the Mini Battery. It hurtled through the sky before adjusting its trajectory and shooting straight toward them with alarming speed.
"Hey… What's that?" Milla asked, her voice filled with innocent curiosity. She pointed toward the figure, her expression shifting from joy to confusion.
The others turned to look, their faces quickly reflecting Milla's concern as they heard the roar of an approaching engine. The object cut through the morning sky like a bullet, glinting blue in the sunlight.
Torque squinted, trying to make out the shape. "I'm not really—" Before he could finish his sentence, the figure shot towards him with blinding speed. All Torque could see in that moment were two glowing red eyes, filled with hatred, and then—darkness.
Flying Mini Battery
Inside the enemy ship, Sonic cleared the last of the Badnik defenses fell before them, reduced to piles of scrap metal as Tails fingers danced over the control panel, deactivating the ship's primary weapons. With one last tap, the system powered down.
"Cannons disabled!" Tails announced, a note of triumph in his voice, the dim glow of the screen reflecting in his wide, excited eyes.
Sonic flashed a grin and held up a hand for a high-five. "Robot hordes gone and wiped!" he declared. Tails met his hand with a loud slap.
"That was a breeze. Time?" Sonic leaned in, already knowing the answer but wanting to hear it aloud.
Tails calculated the time on his head, a broad smile spreading across his face. "According to my calculations... a whopping five minutes! A new record!"
Sonic winked, his grin growing even wider. "I am that good! Now let's wrap this up and hit the control room."
Without wasting another second, they dashed off towards the heart of the airship, as they closed in on their final destination.
The door to the control room slid open with a mechanical hiss, revealing a large, darkened chamber, the only light coming from the faint glow of monitors lining the walls. The temperature was noticeably cooler, almost unnerving, as if the very air carried a hidden threat.
"Did Eggman forget to pay the electricity bill?" Sonic quipped as he cautiously stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room. Every shadow seemed to shift, and his instincts told him there was something—or someone—lurking just out of sight.
Tails moved toward the main control panel with equal caution. "Well… for a battery… uh… I got nothing," he admitted, his focus quickly shifting to the system's data as he began scrolling through it. He worked quickly, searching for a way to completely shut down the ship.
But something caught his attention.
"Huh? What are these files?" Tails murmured, furrowing his brow as strange sets of data flashed across the screen.
In the shadowed corners of the room, a figure began to stir.
Sonic, leaning against a nearby wall, looked utterly bored. He tapped his foot against the floor idly, waiting for something—anything—to happen. "Yo, Tails, isn't there supposed to be a boss here or something?"
Tails, still focused on the screen, absentmindedly replied, "Uh-huh… Shade Cores…" His eyes narrowed as he scanned more of the data. The deeper he dove, the more confusing and alarming the information became.
Sonic glanced around the dark room. "Like, a huge robot piloted by Eggman?"
"Yeah... Project ML...?" Tails mumbled again, hardly paying attention as he tried to make sense of the strange files.
Sonic's impatience grew. "So... where is it?"
"Angel…" Tails let out a loud gasp, his eyes widening in shock. "S-Sonic, look at these files!"
Before Sonic could respond, his keen senses kicked in. Two glowing red dots pierced the darkness, its form imposing and powerful, a large staff raised high in the air. Sonic barely had time to react.
"Tails! Look out!" Sonic's voice cut through the tension as he darted forward, yanking Tails out of the way just as the figure slammed its staff into the floor. The impact created a massive shockwave, splintering the metallic floor beneath them. The force sent pieces of debris flying, and both Sonic and Tails tumbled to the side, barely avoiding the attack.
Sonic quickly pulled Tails to safety, eyes locking onto the figure before them.
The lights in the control room flickered on, revealing their attacker. Standing before them was a towering Egg-Robo clad in gleaming golden armor, with a long, flowing red cape draped over its shoulders. Its shoulder pads were massive and angular, the gleaming metal polished to an intimidating shine. The robot's face was encased in a smooth, helmet-like mask, devoid of expression except for its eyes—glowing red orbs that radiated cold malice. In its hand, it held a scepter topped with a large crystal orb, crackling with energy that glowed with a malevolent purple light.
This was Heavy King, the leader of the Hard-Boiled Heavies.
"Sonic the Hedgehog... Miles Prower," Heavy King's voice boomed, cold and disdainful as he addressed the two heroes by their full names. His tone was dripping with condescension, as though their very presence offended him.
Tails's heart raced. "Heavy King!" he exclaimed, the surprise and dread clear in his voice.
Sonic, however, maintained his cocky demeanor, though his eyes were sharp and alert. "Man, what a surprise to see you here, Kingy," Sonic said "Usually, we'd be fighting the other two Heavies before facing you, but I guess you decided to skip some steps, huh?"
Heavy King's red eyes narrowed, clearly unamused by Sonic's quips. "In a way..." he began, his voice low and measured, though it barely concealed his contempt. "Master Robotnik has given us one last chance. This time, I will not fail." He raised his staff high, and purple electricity crackled around the crystal atop it.
"Uh-huh, okay," Sonic said, keeping his confidence. "Let's end this quick. Got diplomacy and stuff to do." He cracked his knuckles and settled into a ready stance, every muscle primed for action.
Tails stepped forward, his voice steady. "I just read the files. Brevon and Eggman are not getting away with this."
Heavy King chuckled, a low and menacing sound that reverberated through the room. "Ah, yes, Lord Brevon is quite the power-hungry man, even more so than myself. But enough talk, little fox. Let's begin our rematch, shall we?" His eyes gleamed with dark intent as he gripped his scepter tighter. "While your friends are being... distracted."
Sonic and Tails exchanged a quick glance, confusion flashing across their faces. "And why is that?" Tails asked, his tone wary. They had disabled the cannons—what else could possibly be happening?
Heavy King's eyes gleamed "Because your pathetic friends are fending off… against you." as he pointed the tip of his staff at Sonic. "Or more correctly, your 'improved' self." A dark chuckle escaped his metal throat, clearly enjoying the moment of realization dawning on their faces.
Sonic's eyes widened. "Metal..." he whispered, the name escaping his lips like a curse. His mind raced—if Metal Sonic was out there, fighting the girls and Torque, they might be in serious danger. "Tails! Help the girls and Torque! I got this!" Sonic knew that Metal Sonic was no joke, and if Metal was battling people who had never faced him before, things could go south fast.
But before Tails could move, Heavy King slammed his staff into the ground with a deafening clang. The control room doors sealed shut behind them with a resounding finality, trapping them inside. "No… you will not!" Heavy King roared, his voice dripping with venom. "I have craved this revenge for far too long, hedgehog. I will not let you ruin it!"
Purple electricity surged from the staff, bolts of energy arcing through the air. Sonic and Tails dove to either side as the blasts exploded against the metallic floor, sending sparks and shards of metal flying in all directions. The air crackled with the residual charge, the hairs on their arms standing on end from the electric discharge.
Sonic rolled to his feet. " Then we better finish this quick!" Sonic shouted, his voice echoing off the steel walls of the control room as they prepared for the incoming fight.
Over Shang Tu Island - Zao Luxury Ship
"What just happened?"
The girls muttered, their voices filled with disbelief. The world had turned chaotic in an instant. One moment, everything seemed manageable, and the next, a blue streak slammed into Torque, sending him crashing against the ship's quarters. The impact was devastating, creating a gaping hole in the side of the ship, leaving Torque unconscious and slumped against the wreckage. Gyro, chirped in panic, frantically trying to wake him up, but Torque remained motionless.
Dust and debris filled the air, and the three girls stood frozen, their eyes wide as the shadowy figure emerged from the settling dust. Slowly, its outline became clearer, a menacing shape reflecting the morning light with a cold, metallic gleam.
"S-Sonic…" Milla stammered, stepping back, her small body trembling as fear and confusion gripped her heart, but as the figure came fully into view, the reality hit them all like a cold wave.
The figure wasn't Sonic. It was a robot.
The towering figure stepped into the light, his sleek, metallic body gleaming with a predatory glint. His black sclera contrasted sharply against his glowing red eyes, radiating malice and pure, unfiltered hatred. His turbine, embedded in his chest, spun ominously. And unlike Sonic's vibrant, expressive face, Metal Sonic had no mouth, no smile—just a lifeless mask that made his presence even more terrifying. His very existence seemed to suck the warmth out of the air.
Metal Sonic's internal systems whirred to life, his vision overlaying information as he scanned his surroundings. The trio in front of him stood as prey.
ANALYZING…
His gaze locked onto each of them.
CAROL TEA: WILDCAT.
Metal Sonic's red eyes flickered with disinterest. Carol stood frozen, her face a mixture of shock and fear, fists clenched as she tried to steel herself for the inevitable fight.
But Metal Sonic disregarded her entirely. His mission had more critical targets and she certainly wasn't one of them. He moved on to the next.
UNKNOWN NAME: BASSET HOUND.
Unknown? That surprised him. How could his vast database, containing records of nearly every inhabitant of the Archipelago, have no data on this individual? Milla, who was still trembling at the sight of him, was not registered. Was she not significant enough for Dr. Robotnik to consider? No, it didn't matter, she wasn't a priority.
His optics honed in on the third girl.
SASH LILAC: WATER DRAGON.
There she was, another anomaly. His database contained only limited information about her species. What intrigued him was why his creator placed such importance on her. Yet, it didn't matter. His mission was clear: he needed a sample from her. Whether it was a strand of hair, a scale, her blood… or her head.
Lilac felt the weight of his gaze, like a predator sizing up its prey. Her body trembled, but her eyes held steady. "Y-you're Metal Sonic, aren't you? The one Sonic fought in Little Planet?" she asked, her voice quivering. She remembered what Sonic had told her—about his adventure on Little Planet.
Little Planet.
The mention of it stirred something dark inside Metal Sonic, an echo of a buried memory. His first battle against his loathsome copy. His first defeat. The shame and bitterness of that loss. His glowing eyes narrowed, and an intense hatred flickered within.
What are you going to say, dragon?
"Yeah! Sonic told us about you!" Lilac continued as she stepped forward. "You're just another robot that Eggman created—nothing but a cheap copy!" Her voice gained strength, her defiance flaring up as she prepared for the fight.
Metal Sonic's posture stiffened. Cheap copy. The words echoed in his mind like a poisonous taunt. She had no idea the rage those words ignited in him. His eyes flared red as the turbine in his chest revved up, whirring faster.
Her head it is.
Without warning, Metal Sonic's engines roared to life, his body becoming a blur as he dashed toward Lilac with deadly intent.
"Cyclone!" Lilac shouted, reacting instinctively. She spun her hair like a whip, striking Metal Sonic with enough force to send him staggering back. The impact of her attack was powerful, but Metal Sonic's body barely faltered. He skidded back only slightly, his eyes gleaming with malice as he recalibrated.
Lilac's heart raced. Her attack hadn't slowed him down at all. She barely had time to react before Metal Sonic lunged at her again, his movements blindingly fast. She dodged, her body twisting as she barely avoided his razor-sharp claws, and retaliated with a swift kick to his head. The metallic clang echoed across the ship's deck as her foot connected with his head.
MINOR DAMAGE DETECTED.
Metal Sonic reeled back slightly, surprised that her simple kick had left any impression at all. He now understood why the Doctor wanted her sample—she was more formidable than expected. But that didn't mean anything to him. His mission would be accomplished regardless.
Metal Sonic squared up again, preparing for the next attack, but Carol, finally snapping out of her daze, leapt into action.
"Hey, scrap metal! There are more players here!" Carol shouted, claws extended as she launched herself at Metal Sonic.
She aimed a powerful slash at his chest, but Metal Sonic dodged with ease, his movements precise and fluid. Carol followed up with a flurry of kicks, but Metal has had enough of distractions. As her leg swung toward him, Metal Sonic caught it mid-strike, his grip like a vice.
"H-he's as fast as Sonic!" Carol gasped, her voice tinged with disbelief. Her words turned into a scream of pain as Metal Sonic dug his claws into her leg, his grip tightening as he drove her to the ground.
Do not interfere, trash. His cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind as he slammed her into the floor with brutal force. The impact knocked the wind from her lungs, leaving her gasping in pain. Without a second thought, Metal spun, throwing her with deadly precision against the ship's rails. Carol hit the barrier with a bone-rattling impact, her body slumping as she lay incapacitated. Metal sighed in pity, wishing that she had felled overboard.
"Carol, no!" Lilac screamed, her voice filled with horror as she saw her best friend clutching her leg in agony.
Fueled by desperation, Lilac launched herself at Metal Sonic with her Dragon Boost, her body blurring as she sped toward him. But Metal Sonic, now fully understanding her speed, sidestepped her attack. His eyes gleamed with newfound interest. She could match his speed—almost. The Doctor had been right to target her.
For the next few moments, Lilac and Metal Sonic were locked in a brutal exchange of blows. Lilac used her agility and speed to strike at Metal Sonic with her hair and fists, dodging his vicious clawed attacks with narrow precision. Her strikes were powerful, and for the first time, Metal Sonic had to carefully analyze her every move, calculating the best counterattack.
Metal retaliated with brutal precision, each swipe of his claws designed to tear her apart, but Lilac continued to evade, the air between them thick with tension as they fought hand to hand. The clashing sounds of metal and hair filled the air, each impact sending shockwaves through the ship.
Meanwhile, Milla had rushed to Carol's side. She grabbed some life petals that she had stored earlier, gently rubbing them onto Carol's wounded leg. The petals glowed faintly, their healing properties slowly taking effect. Carol, wincing in pain, cursed herself under her breath. "I… I can't believe I let that happen," she muttered, her voice strained as Milla worked to heal her.
Metal Sonic managed to land a devastating kick on Lilac, sending her flying several meters away. She hit the ground hard, skidding to a halt, clutching her stomach in pain.
Metal Sonic straightened up, a smug, silent satisfaction radiating from him. He wiggled a metallic finger in mockery, daring her to try again. Lilac growled, her rage building, and launched herself into another Dragon Boost, determined to end this.
Predictable, Metal Sonic thought,
ACTIVATING BLACK SHIELD
A shimmering black barrier surrounded him just as Lilac's Dragon Boost struck. She collided with the shield, her momentum stopped dead by the impenetrable barrier.
"Sonic doesn't have that!" Lilac gasped, her eyes wide with shock.
Before she could recover, Metal Sonic seized her twin tails, yanking her back with brutal force. He slammed her into the floor with a sickening thud, the impact sending tremors through the ship. Sonic doesn't have that because that copy is inferior Metal Sonic thought coldly, his eyes flaring red with hatred.
He lifted her again and slammed her down once more. And again. And again. Each time, Lilac's cries of pain grew louder. Metal Sonic showed no mercy, each slam more brutal than the last, as though he was trying to crush not just her body, but her spirit. The deck beneath her cracked with each impact, the ship itself groaning under the force of the relentless blows.
"Lilac!" Milla screamed, her heart pounding with terror. Carol, still clutching her leg, urged the life petals to heal faster, her voice hoarse with frustration. "Come on, come on… heal already!" she whispered, her eyes never leaving the horrifying scene in front of her.
Satisfied for the moment, Metal Sonic lifted Lilac's limp body one final time. Her face was pale, her breaths ragged, but her eyes still burned with defiance. With a cold precision, Metal Sonic kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying across the deck like a broken ragdoll. She tumbled to a stop, clutching her stomach and struggling to rise, her entire body trembling.
As Metal Sonic loomed over her, he calculated his next move. His gaze flickered with a curious thought: as a water dragon, would she be more vulnerable to electricity? It was worth testing.
ACTIVATING OVERCHARGED.
With that thought, Metal Sonic's form crackled with intense yellow electricity. Arcs of power surged along his metallic frame, lighting up the air with dangerous energy. He locked his gaze on Lilac, fully intent on delivering the final, devastating blow.
Lilac watched, her vision blurred by pain, as electricity crackled and surged from Metal Sonic's body. The bolts of power lashed out, striking the surface of the ship. She gritted her teeth, trying to push herself up, but the overwhelming pain made it nearly impossible.
From across the deck, Carol and Milla watched in horror as Metal Sonic prepared to strike.
"LILAC!" Carol screamed, her voice raw with fear and anger. But before Metal Sonic could deliver the killing blow, a voice rang out, strong and filled with resolve.
"NO!" Milla's voice echoed through the chaos. In a sudden, brave leap, the young basset threw herself between Metal Sonic and Lilac. Her tiny frame stood tall, her eyes wide with determination, even as her body trembled with fear.
Metal Sonic hesitated, his sensors briefly registering confusion at the small figure now standing in his path.
"I won't let you!" Milla cried out, her voice trembling but unwavering. She summoned a glowing green cube, the energy crackling as it formed into a shield that shimmered with a radiant green light. Metal Sonic's eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation. This creature, insignificant compared to the others, was placing herself in his way? Futile.
His engines roared as he charged forward, electricity crackling around him. His intention was clear: he would obliterate her along with that pathetic shield.
But as he slammed into the shield, something unexpected happened. The impact didn't shatter the green barrier as he had anticipated. Instead, it held strong, sending a shock through Metal Sonic's systems.
?! Metal Sonic's sensors alerted him to the unusual strength of the shield. How could such a small, fragile creature create something so powerful? His systems glitched momentarily, the force of the collision causing unexpected feedback.
Lilac, struggling to rise, watched in awe as Milla stood her ground, her small body radiating with an inner strength that none of them had seen before. The shield shimmered brighter, resisting Metal Sonic's overwhelming force.
"I. Won't. Let. You!" Milla repeated, her voice filled with an unshakable resolve. She pushed back against Metal Sonic with all her might, the energy of her shield pulsing brighter and brighter.
Metal Sonic, staggered by the sheer will of the young pup, began to slide back, his charge dissipating. Before he could fully recalibrate, Milla dismissed her shield and summoned another green cube in her hands. With a fierce shout, she hurled the cube forward, creating a massive burst of green energy that exploded on impact.
The force of the blast sent Metal Sonic stumbling, his metal feet skidding across the deck as he struggled to regain control.
MAJOR DAMAGE DETECTED. INITIATING AUTO REPAIRS.
His internal systems struggled to compensate for the unexpected damage. This dog—this child—had somehow inflicted significant harm. His optics locked onto Milla, now seeing her not just as an obstacle but as a genuine threat. His rage intensified.
As his systems recalibrated, something else caught Metal Sonic's attention. His scanners detected a powerful energy source nearby. He analyzed it quickly, and the result shocked him.
YELLOW CHAOS EMERALD LOCATED.
A Chaos Emerald! This entire time, they had a Chaos Emerald in their possession?! He had been so focused on his original mission to retrieve a sample from Lilac that he hadn't noticed. Now, the priorities shifted.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: COLLECT THE DRAGON SAMPLE.
OVERRIDE…
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: RETRIEVE THE CHAOS EMERALD.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: COLLECT THE DRAGON SAMPLE.
With his new directive set, Metal Sonic's engines roared to life once more. His gaze, now fixed on Milla. She had become more than just an obstacle—she was the key to his mission. He would not fail.
"M-Milla," Lilac croaked, her voice weak from the pain, but her eyes were filled with concern. Milla turned, giving her a brave smile, her eyes shining with a mixture of fear and fierce determination.
"Don't worry, Lilac. I won't let him hurt us," Milla reassured her, gripping the green cube tightly in her small hands. She stood firm, ready to protect her friends, no matter the cost.
Metal Sonic's internal systems hummed as he analyzed the situation, recalculating his approach. He viewed Milla's bravery with cold disdain.
You delay the inevitable, soon one by one, you will all become a black mark on the floor.
With a burst of speed, Metal Sonic charged toward Milla, his metallic form shimmering with energy as the air around him crackled. The tension in the air was palpable as the two forces prepared to collide.
Milla, her heart pounding in her chest, summoned another green cube, her hands glowing with the intense energy of her power. She knew she wasn't as strong as Carol or fast as Lilac, but she had something else—something that would protect her friends no matter what.
The two forces met with a deafening crash. A green light exploded from Milla's cube as she slammed it into Metal Sonic's charge, the entire ship trembled under the force of the clash, the air vibrating with the power of their collision.
And for a moment, everything was bathed in a brilliant green flash.
