Chaoscontrol85: I had a feeling that was the reason. I also wrote Naomasa that way because I kind of share the same emotions with this whole thing. Also, I was going to pair Fumikage with Jiro, but I wanted to do something that either no one or not many people have done. I also think that Hagakure's fun to write.
The two green-haired teens were sitting on a bench, watching the children play. It was somewhat nostalgic, reminding them of when they revealed their feelings for one another.
"So, uh, what did you want to talk about?" Izuku asked. Even though she wanted to talk with him, Tsu hasn't spoken a word since the two sat down. It was stressing him out to no end.
"I want to talk about us. Our relationship to be exact, ribbit," Tsu said bluntly. Izuku felt his heart drop into his stomach. This is what he was dreading when she said she wanted to talk. He doesn't want their relationship to end because he doesn't know how they'll continue to be friends after everything they've been through.
"W-Was it something that I d-did or…?" Izuku trailed off, not being able to find the right words.
"Oh, no no no, it's not that, definitely not that!" Tsu quickly clarified. Izuku was glad that their relationship wasn't ending but now he was confused about what this whole conversation was about.
"Then what do you want to talk about?"
Tsu took a few seconds to ponder what she wanted to say. She didn't want to have another misunderstanding because she wasn't clear about what she said.
"I want to make our relationship more official, ribbit."
"What do you mean?"
"We've been dating for almost 10 months and haven't done the typical dating stuff. We haven't held hands, we aren't used to hugging each other, and we don't even call each other boyfriend or girlfriend!" Tsu pointed out.
Izuku couldn't argue with her. He looked back on their relationship and couldn't pinpoint a time when they did anything that she listed. It was no one's fault, they just preferred to do stuff that made them comfortable even if it meant not doing the typical romantic stuff.
"Then what should we do?"
"First, we should start calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend. I also think we should start holding hands in public…" The couple, both red in the face, turned away from each other. Even though she wanted it, Tsu doesn't think she'll be able to go through with it. Sure, they have been dating for almost 10 months, and hand-holding is something they should've already been doing but a part of her was screaming at her that they were moving too fast. "You know, maybe we don't have to, RIBBIT!"
Without thinking, Izuku grabbed hold of her hand. He was still facing away from her to hide his embarrassment, but Tsu could feel that he was enjoying the moment. The two stayed like this for a few minutes, not saying a word to ruin the moment. It was embarrassing at first but as time went on they learned to enjoy themselves.
"T-This isn't s-so bad," Izuku spoke up to break the silence.
"Y-Yeah, we can be l-like other couples, ribbit," Tsu said in agreement. She was glad that there weren't many people in the park because she didn't know how she could handle the embarrassment if someone they knew saw them.
"D-Do you want to see if we could catch up with Fumikage?" Izuku asked.
"YES!" Tsu instantly agreed.
The couple stood up from the bench but they didn't release their interlocking hands. They continued to hold hands until they reached the park's exit. They both agreed they weren't ready to hold hands in front of large groups of people. Though, when they released their hold, Tsu could feel the world around her getting colder.
Izuku pulled out his phone and looked up ice cream parlors nearby. He only found one so the two set off for the parlor. It didn't take long for the couple to reach the parlor, and they even saw their friend through the window. When they saw him they had to suppress their laughter.
Fumikage was sitting stiffly as Hagakure was keeping her sundae away from Dark Shadow. Tsu wanted to take a picture of the scene but Fumikage noticed them before she could take out her phone. Now caught, the couple joined up with their friend.
"You seem to be having fun, ribbit," Tsu commented as she and Izuku sat down. Fumikage was too embarrassed to speak, but the good news was that Hagakure was there to talk for him.
"It would be a lot better if Fumi's quirk wasn't trying to steal my ice cream!" Hagakure grunted as she kept her sweet treat away from the shadow quirk. "Why don't you have some of Fumi's!?"
"His tasted like coconuts and yours looks delicious!" Dark Shadow answered as he tried to steal a bite from Hagakure's food.
Izuku and Tsu looked at Fumikage's bowl and the ice cream inside it was black. It was only two scoops and had no toppings. The two looked at their raven-headed friend with arched eyebrows and he knew what his two friends were going to ask.
"The taste varies from different parlors. Sometimes it'll taste like vanilla and other times it'll be coconut," Fumikage mumbled out his answer. Izuku and Tsu nodded, accepting his answer as they watched Hagakure try her best at playing keep away from the sentient quirk.
"Uh, Fumi, could you please do something about your quirk!?" Hagakure asked the quirk holder. Fumikage gained his composure enough to give Dark Shadow a stern look, one that a father would give to a disobedient child. Dark Shadow wanted to argue but Fumikage gave his quirk another stern look causing it to droop its head and return inside Fumikage.
"Thank you," Hagakure said as she dove into her frozen treat.
"So, how did your talk go?" Fumikage asked the couple while the invisible girl was busy eating.
"It went well, and we decided to make things more official," Izuku told his friend. Fumikage appeared to not fully understand what his friend was talking about, but Hagakure did. Even though she was invisible, the trio could easily tell that the girl had stars in her eyes by the way her clothes were squirming in her seat.
"You mean…!"
"We decided to officially become boyfriend and girlfriend," Tsu revealed with a nod. Hagakure squealed and gave Tsu a big hug. As this was happening, Dark Shadow discreetly emerged from Fumikage and started eating Hagakure's ice cream.
"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thank you, but could you let go of me? Can't breathe," Tsu told Hagakure who released her hold with an embarrassed chuckle.
"Sorry, but can you blame me, you're in an official relationship!" Hagakure was then hit with a sudden realization. "Oh my gosh, are you two on a date right now!? I'm so sorry, me and Fumi could leave if you want–!"
"Oh, no no no, we just wanted to see what you guys were doing, ribbit," Tsu quickly answered the invisible girl. She then looked at the clock that was above the doorway and saw how late it was getting. "And I need to be getting home soon to take care of my brother and sister."
"And I need to get back home to clean and do my homework," Izuku added while standing up. Seeing that he was done with his ice cream and that his friends would be leaving, Fumikage decided to join them.
"Ok then, but the four of us should get together someday and do something fun!" Hagakure suggested when the trio was setting up to leave. The three friends nodded in agreement and Hagakure managed to portray that she was happy.
The trio started to leave but didn't even make out the door when they heard a loud gasp behind them. They saw Hagakure an upset Hagakure holding up an empty bowl.
"Who ate my ice cream!?"
It did take long for Fumikage to figure out who did it when he heard Dark Shadow snickering in his head.
"Hers really was delicious!"
Izuku and Fumikage left the station and started their walk home. Ever since the first day of school, the two boys decided the few minutes it takes for them to get from the station to their homes was the perfect time to tell each other about their day. To say that Izuku was horrified by what his friend told him would be an understatement.
"I can't believe he would do that, even when All Might told him not to," Izuku said in disbelief. When they were younger, Bakugo would always fight him over anything from food, animals, cartoons, and even heroes, but the one thing that they would always agree on was that All Might was the best hero in the world. Bakugo was almost as obsessed with the number one hero as he was when they were younger.
"It was terrifying to watch him act with such authority when he sent Bakugo to the principal. He didn't even lose his smile once!" Dark Shadow came out and nodded in agreement to what his host said as Fumikage shivered. "I know his ire wasn't directed toward me but I felt so much shame for something I didn't do."
"What do you think will happen to him?" Dark Shadow asked, causing the two boys to ponder the explosive boy's punishment.
"He has to be expelled, right? What he did was attempted murder and if it wasn't for Tsu, Hagakure and I would be dead!"
"I don't think that'll happen," Izuku said, which caused him to receive some confused looks from his friend. He knows that Bakugo should be expelled for what he did, but he knows that he won't for several reasons. "His quirk is too powerful for them to expel him and he ranked second in the entrance exam so they know how powerful he is, but I think there's more to it. I think UA will try to rehabilitate him."
"Huh?"
"If you were in his shoes and you were just expelled from your dream school you would become vengeful, right? He already showed that he had no qualms about taking someone's life and UA knows this. So instead of creating a future villain for them to deal with, I think UA will try to make him the best hero he could be," Izuku explained.
"I guess, but wouldn't it be more like a reward for him then?" Fumikage countered. He completely understood his friend's logic and he would rather have Bakugo as an ally than an adversary. Still, it wouldn't sit right with him if Bakugo doesn't face some sort of serious punishment, especially after he tried to kill him and Hagakure.
"I never said he wouldn't be punished, he'll most likely have some limitations during his first year," Izuku said and he could see that his friend was still upset about the whole situation. "Or maybe he will get expelled, we're just assuming what could happen, but you shouldn't get worked up about it. Just worry about what you can control."
"I guess you're right," Fumikage conceded. He'll most likely be upset over the outcome, but it's out of his control. Whatever UA decides to do with Bakugo he'll just accept it and move on. "But I don't know if Hagakure would feel the same."
"If she sees that you're fine with it then she'll come around, right… Fumi?" Izuku teased. Fumikage's eyes shot wide open as his face turned beet red. Both Izuku and Dark Shadow were laughing at his reaction as he tried to think of a comeback.
"I, uh, I d-don't know what you're uh talking about!" Fumikage managed to stammer out. Izuku stopped laughing and gave his friend a supportive pat on the back.
"You'll know one day."
Fumikage sighed after biting into his tuna sandwich. His day didn't start well after he had to maneuver through a crowd of reporters asking about All Might. It wouldn't have been so bad if they left him alone after answering one of their questions, but he ended up opening the floodgates because they all thought he was the one with all the answers, and they wouldn't stop shoving their microphones and cameras in his face even after telling them he didn't know anything else. He was glad that he decided to be an underground hero before applying to UA because he doesn't know how he would've been able to handle the press without causing some type of scandal.
Then there was Homeroom. It started normally with everyone doing their own thing like talking, reading, or sleeping. Then Mr. Aizawa came in and that's when everything went downhill.
He first critiqued everyone about their battle simulations. Mr. Aizawa told him that he was too reliant on Dark Shadow and that it would benefit him to at least learn basic hand-to-hand combat. He then told Tsu that she was too much of a follower and that she never argued Bakugo's plan. Fumikage saw on his friend's face that their teacher was far off on his evaluation but she didn't say anything because she didn't want to deal with any negative consequences for doing so.
Then Mr. Aizawa dropped the biggest bombshell after critiquing everyone, he brought Bakugo into the entire class. There was an uproar but Mr. Aizawa quickly silenced the whole class with a glare.
"By the principal's orders, Bakugo will remain in the Hero Course under some heavy restrictions. He will be under constant supervision, he is prohibited from using his quirk outside of hero training, he is allowed to take part in the hero lessons under certain limitations, and he has to take part in mandatory after-school counseling until the school counselor says that it's safe to remove his restrictions," Fumikage remembered Mr. Aizawa telling them.
Fumikage looked across the cafeteria and saw Bakugo sitting at a table away from everyone else. He was scowling at his food as a giant dog man was staring down at him.
"Don't stare at him! I don't want him to start something, ribbit," Tsu told him while lightly bonking him on the head.
"Yeah, I really don't want him to come over here," Hagakure said with a hint of worry in her voice. Even though she had a hard time showing it, Fumikage could tell that she was a little scared of Bakugo being allowed in their class and he understood why he did try to kill them. Fumikage then reminded himself of what Izuku told him, if Hagakure saw that he was fine with it then she'll calm down.
"Hey, so uh, who did guys vote for in the election?" Fumikage not so subtly changed the subject.
After the whole Bakugo debacle, Mr. Aizawa said they had to decide on class representatives and a majority of the class declared that they should be the class rep. It was on the verge of being utter chaos until Iida suggested they do a vote. It was, for the most part, a good idea, but they'd only had classes with each other for two days which wasn't enough time to build trust with anyone. Still, they all agreed to do an election and Iida even allowed them to vote for themselves if they wanted.
Fumikage didn't want to be one of the class representatives because of the extra work that would entail with the title. It was somewhat easy for him to vote for someone because he believed there were only three people in the class that were best suited for the position. He decided on voting for Iida, mainly because he was the one who came up with the idea of holding an election and Dark Shadow said that he looked the part. After the votes were counted, a majority of the class had one vote while Yaoyorozu had two and Iida had three, making both of them their class reps.
"I voted for Iida because I could sense him wanting everyone to vote for him when we were voting, ribbit," Tsu revealed and Fumikage nodded to silently tell everyone that he also voted for Iida.
"I wanted to vote for Iida as well, but I had to vote for Yaoyorozu. She just has that big sister vibe to her, you know?" Hagakure tried her best to explain her reasoning behind her vote. Both Fumikage and Tsu nodded along to what the invisible girl said while Shinso just rolled his eyes.
"I don't think it matters who you voted for, it's not like you're the one who got elected. But I am surprised I got one vote," Shinso quietly muttered to himself before he started eating.
"You didn't vote for yourself!?" Shinso almost choked on his food from the sudden question from the invisible girl. "I thought that the ones who got one vote voted for themselves."
"No, I didn't. I didn't want the extra attention, and it's not like anyone would vote for me after the first day of school," Shinso said sadly.
"Well, do you know who would vote for you?" Tsu asked to raise her friend's spirits.
Shinso leaned back as he thought about who would vote for him. No one came to mind because he still got some off-handed glares from a majority of his classmates and the ones who didn't, told him they voted for someone else. Maybe it's a good thing he doesn't know who voted for him if it's for some prank because at least then he could pretend that someone outside of his little group didn't despise him.
"No one that I would kno—!" A loud ringing pierced throughout the school, gaining everyone's attention.
"WARNING: LEVEL 3 SECURITY BREACH! All students, please evacuate the building in an orderly fashion!"
Pure pandemonium broke out in the lunchroom. Everyone shot up from their seats and bolted to the nearest exit. The four were confused by what was happening but that didn't stop them from being forced out of their seats and being carried away by a wave of panicking students. They were all forced out into the hallway, and even though they moved quite some distance from their table, none of them believed they moved their legs once.
"What's happening!" Fumikage managed to hear Hagakure's voice over the panicking students.
He tried to look for her but he quickly realized that he was separated from his friends. He saw Tsu being pushed in one direction while Shinso was being pulled the other way, too far away for him to reach out to them. He couldn't see Hagakure but he could still hear her voice over the crowd, and she was close.
'Dark Shadow, look for Hagakure!" Fumikage ordered and his quirk emerged from his body and rose above the crowd. The shadow quirk surveyed the scene and managed to point out a pair of floating clothes struggling against the current of panicking students. Dark Shadow relayed the information back to Fumikage and the teen quickly asked his quirk to help him reach the invisible girl.
It was a huge struggle trying to force his way through the sea of students, even with the help of Dark Shadow. Every time he tried to slither through the crowd he ended up being pushed in a different direction or elbowed in the back of his head. It was a huge pain but he persevered and managed to get within arm's length of Hagakure.
"Hagakure!"
"Fumi!?"
"Quick, grab my hand!" Fumikage extended his hand out to Hagakure. When he felt Hagakure grab onto him, he pulled her through the crowd and into him.
"Hold onto me," he told her and she instantly latched onto his arm.
"Where are the others?"
"We got separated! We'll have to meet up with them when we get outside," Fumikage answered as he started to push through the crowd.
All of a sudden, he saw Iida fly through the air and slam against the wall above the exit.
"EVERYONE LISTEN TO ME! You need to calm down, it's just the press, nothing serious! We are all UA students, yet we didn't act like it! We should all calmly make our way to the exit and wait for further instruction from either the teachers or faculty!"
After Iida's speech, things went smoothly. No one was arguing or pushing anyone out of the way. It was so much calmer than it was a few minutes ago, and Fumikage felt proud that he voted for the right person to be the class rep.
"...and that's pretty much what happened. We stood outside for a few minutes before the teachers told us to go back to class."
"That's crazy," Jack Rabbit said in disbelief. He already heard what happened from his friend but it was still shocking to hear it from a different perspective. "Do you know how the press managed to break in?"
"Meh, probably someone used their quirk to destroy the door," Echo then chuckled softly. "I know that All Might is the number 1 hero, but breaking and entering onto private property filled with heroes just to interview the guy is a whole new level of ballsiness. Kinda have to respect them in a way."
Jack Rabbit chuckled as well as he gazed up at the night sky. It was a peaceful night with nothing out of the ordinary. He used to dislike nights like these, but after a while, he got used to the serenity of not having to worry about criminals.
He looked over the ledge of the building he was on to see what was happening down below. Everything appeared to be normal, he didn't see anything that would cause some concern. Maybe it was just one of those nights.
He was ready to call it a night when he noticed a group of suspicious-looking people walking into an alleyway across the street. Part of him said that it was most likely nothing but his gut was telling him to at least check it out, and since his gut never led him astray he chose the latter. With one quick motion, Jack Rabbit used his grappling hook to swing across the street.
Now that he was closer to his targets, he positioned himself in a way that kept him hidden but also kept them in earshot and his sightline. He waited until the group did anything just in case he made the wrong assumption about the group.
"Are you sure about this? You could just be leading us into a trap."
"Relax, I got a tip from someone saying that this guy is legit. Heard that they have a plan that will turn the heroing world on its head," a guy who Jack Rabbit assumed was the leader said with confidence.
With his questions answered, Jack Rabbit knew that this group was up to no good. He couldn't spring into action just yet, he first needed to hear the plan so he could help tip off the heroes.
"And how can we trust this guy?"
"You remember hearing about what happened at UA and how all those reporters got in? Turns out, it was this guy's associate who caused the whole thing!"
It took everything in Jack Rabbit's power to not cause any noise.
"You heard that, Echo?" Jack Rabbit whispered.
"Yeah, I should've assumed that someone from the press wouldn't have waited too long to use their quirk to break into the school."
Suddenly, a portal opened up in front of the group, and out stepped a well-dressed mist figure.
"Good evening, and sorry for the wait, I had a few other stops to get to first before coming here," the mist figure apologized with a bow.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, can we get on with why we're here!" The leader of the group demanded. The mist figure looked a little annoyed but kept his emotions in check.
"I understand, you're all a busy group so I'll make things quick. Today, my associate was able to obtain a UA planner which allowed us to learn the locations of the teachers of the current week," the mist figure revealed which caused a few members of the group to roll their eyes.
"And this concerns us how?"
"Tomorrow, a class will be receiving a special lesson from All Might himself, on a separate part of the school campus, away from all the pro heroes," the mist figure added devilishly. "My associate wants your help in–!"
"Hold it! Hold it! Hold it for one second! Now, we might not be the smartest people around but we know we're street-level thugs and there ain't no way a street-level thug could take out All Might!" Jack Rabbit heard a female thug argue which caused the mist figure to chuckle.
"Oh, you won't be going up against All Might, my associate and I already have a plan for that. What you all will be doing is taking care of the children," the mist figure said which piqued the group's interest. The mist figure chuckled again as he made a new portal. "If you're on board, go to the abandoned warehouse that is the furthest from Takoba Municipal Beach."
The mist figure left and the group cheered as they were hyping themselves for what was going to happen tomorrow. Jack Rabbit couldn't move. He was scared, not for All Might, but for his friends. He knew that whatever the mist figure and his associate threw at All Might he would be able to return tenfold, but he doesn't know how his friends would be able to handle a villain attack if it was their class.
He knew that they could defend themselves but from what the mist figure said, it sounded like he was building an army. He didn't know how long it would take until they were overpowered.
"...Jack! Jack! JACK!" Echo's screams broke him out of his trance. He took a few deep breaths and lightly slapped his face to calm down.
"Y-Yeah?"
"Are you feeling ok?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. Just needed a few seconds to breathe."
"So, what are you going to do?" Echo asked rhetorically. In the months that she had known about him, she knew what he was going to do.
"I'm going to stop them!" Jack Rabbit said with nothing but pure determination before deflating a little. "But I don't know how I'm going to be able to skip school tomorrow. It's not like I can tell Miss Azumi about what's happening."
"Don't worry, you just need to buy these things before you get home and she'll demand you skip out on school," Echo devilishly chuckled which caused Jack Rabbit to worry.
Sorry for taking so long to get this out I was caught up in playing a game called OMORI. It's a fun game and I'd suggest you guys should check it out. Anyway, I'm telling you this because I decided to write a story about it and I hope you'll read it.
