Chapter 1:
Superman:
Planet: Earth
City: Metropolis
Year: 2022
Day: Sunday
Time: 10:30 p.m.
Clark Kent was just a janitor working at S.T.A.R. Labs. He was mopping up the mess that was made.
"Working late again Clark," asks Clark's best friend, Lex Luthor.
"I could ask the same of you, Lex," says Clark.
"Clark, you're cut out for more than this whole janitor thing," says Lex, "take me, why I bet there's an alternate universe where I own a big company instead of being just a S.T.A.R. Labs scientist."
"Yeah, you can call it LexCorp," says Clark.
"Say, there's an idea," says Lex, "anyway, I have to get home. You know how Jerry gets."
"Tell him I said hi," says Clark.
And so, Lex leaves to go home to his husband while Clark gets back to work. Then Clark finds the pod S.T.A.R. Labs has been studying for some time...and after all this time...it opened!
"Help...me," says the stranger in the pod.
...
Clark lied the stranger in bed. "Are you okay," asks Clark.
"Yes. My name is Kal-El and I am from Krypton."
"I'm guessing that's not in this solar system," says Clark.
"It's not even in this galaxy," says Kal, "Krypton is much like this planet, but more advanced. We were under attack by a galactic menace, Despero. I had to get away to keep this from him. A dangerous weapon."
"It's just a metal box," says Clark.
"A metal box that could destroy an entire planet," says Kal, "we call it the Doomsday."
"Clever name," says Clark.
"Despero should be sending his forces to try to take it," says Kal, "we are not safe here."
"When will they be coming," asks Clark.
The building is under attack.
"Now," says Kal.
...
Large robots were attacking the building. Clark and Kal came out. "What are those," asks Clark.
"The Metallos," says Kal, "Despero's soldiers." Kal then started flying.
"You can fly," asks Clark.
"It is hard to explain," says Kal, "but arriving on your planet gave me incredible powers."
"That figures," says Clark.
Kal then started fighting the Metallos. He was doing alright, until the Metallos became too much and started overpowering him. Kal then fell to the ground. Just as they were about to blast him, Clark got in the way, sacrificing his own life to save Kal.
...
Clark then wakes up and sees he's in an alley. Kal was there.
"What...what happened," asks Clark.
"You are dying," says Kal.
"You have to stop those things," says Clark.
"There is one thing I must do first," says Kal, "it is the only way I can think of to save you. Just promise me one thing...that you will defeat the Metallos."
"What are you..." Kal then starts to glow and he touches his hand on Clark's shoulder. Kal then disappears and suddenly Clark's feeling better.
"I...I feel great, but where is Kal?" Clark was then floating. "What? Do I... have Kal's powers? Kal...he must've merged us together somehow...he gave up his own life to save mine. He should've just stopped the Metallos himself. Well, Kal, your sacrifice will not be in vain." Clark then flies off.
...
The Metallos continue to cause trouble, but then Clark started hitting them. "This is for Kal-El of Krypton," says Clark.
He then started fighting the Metallos. He had flight, strength, speed, and heat vision, and others. He started breaking the Metallos. There was eventually one left. It tried to leave, but Clark broke it to pieces. The Metallos were defeated.
...
Clark left before anyone could find out. He now has a new job...but he can't let anyone know. However, he is going to need some help.
...
There's a knock on the door. "It's been way more then 30 minutes," says Lex, "that pizza is...free?" Lex sees Clark floating.
"Lex, we need to talk," says Clark.
...
"I always knew you were more than just a janitor," says Lex, "so, how'd you like the suit?"
Clark was wearing a blue jumpsuit with red shoulders, red gloves, and red boots. "Maybe we should add a cape," suggests Clark.
"A cape would be a terrible idea," says Lex.
"And what does the 's' stand for," asks Clark.
"Since you have superpowers, I was thinking we call you Superman," says Lex, "plus I found that symbol on your friend's ship."
"Despero's coming," says Clark, "and I have to stop him in the name of Truth, Justice, and the American Way."
And so, Superman was born.
Next: Batman.
