At Maxwell Lord High, Ariel Curry was watching her girlfriend, Sarah Brown swimming in the pool.
"I wish you could join me, Ariel," says Sarah.
"Yeah, but I can't swim," says Ariel.
Sarah then got out of the pool. "So, why do you come here," asks Sarah.
"Two reasons," says Ariel, "one to keep you company and two, because I like seeing you in a swimsuit."
Just as the two were about to kiss, Ariel slips and falls in the water.
"Ariel, are you okay," asks Sarah.
"Don't look," says Ariel.
Sarah is then surprised to see Ariel with a fish's tail.
...
A group of armored warriors arrived in New York... from the water.
"Look for her," one said.
...
Sarah was using a towel to dry Ariel's tail off. "So, why do you have a tail," asks Sarah.
Ariel then sighs. "Okay, here's the thing, the real reason I don't go in the water is so no one would see this. I'm a mermaid."
"Yeah, I can see that," says Sarah.
"I'm... betrothed to this other mermaid named Marina, but I can't stand her. She's selfish, spoiled, rude, and a gold digger."
"Wait, are you rich," asks Sarah.
"Yes. I came to the surface to hide from her and then I fell in love."
"With me," asks Sarah.
"No, with the Lunch Lady," says Ariel, "of course with you."
"I'm dating a mermaid," says Sarah, "I'm dating a mermaid... named... wait."
"My people actually do research on surface media. My parents named me after the character of a certain movie about mermaids."
"Except you didn't need to trade your voice for legs," says Marina.
"That movie got it completely wrong," says Ariel, "merpeople can grow legs if we're dry and turn back to merpeople if we're wet."
"Sort of like Luca," says Sarah.
Ariel and Sarah then heard something and decided to check outside.
"The Black Mantas," says Ariel.
"The what," says Sarah.
"Marina's Dad is a general and the Black Mantas are his soldiers," says Ariel.
"Marina's Dad is the leader of those guys," asks Sarah.
"Yes," says Ariel, "though, the official title of the Black Manta General is Ocean Master."
"Great," says Sarah, "well, we have to get you away from those guys. Let's go."
Ariel and Sarah then ran off.
...
"Marina, we have tracked her to this surface school," says a Black Manta.
"Good," says Marina, "we can't have my bride-to-be keeping her bride-to be-waiting. Find her!"
...
Ariel and Marina were hiding in the janitor's closet.
"Okay, maybe superheroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, and that Batman guy in Japan can help," says Sarah.
"One problem," says Ariel, "we don't have their numbers."
"How much money do you have to make Sea Witch come after you like this," asks Sarah.
"It's... complicated," says Ariel.
A Black Manta then opens the door and is about to grab Ariel, but she then punches the Black Manta through lockers and a wall.
"What was that," asks Sarah.
"I... I don't know," says Ariel, "I've never been that strong before."
"Worry about it later," says Sarah, "let's run!"

Ariel and Sarah were in the cafeteria. A lot of students were looking at them.
"Everyone, don't panic," says Sarah, "BUT THERE ARE FREAKY SEA PEOPLE IN BLACK ARMOR ATTACKING THE SCHOOL!"
No one believed her until the Principal made an announcement. "Everyone, don't panic, BUT THERE ARE FREAKY SEA PEOPLE IN BLACK ARMOR ATTACKING THE SCHOOL!"
"Sorry we didn't believe you," says a cheerleader.
They all then freaked out.
"I'm glad we're in a school where people listen to the principal," says Sarah, "now, let's discuss your strength. You've never been able to do that before?"
"The only mermaid powers I have were changing between tail and legs, being able to breath underwater, and being able to talk to fish," says Ariel.
"You talk to fish," says Sarah.
"There was this octopus who had a crush on me until he found out I was gay," says Ariel.
"Oookaay, wait, octopi aren't fish," says Sarah.
"Right, I meant sea creatures in general," says Ariel.
Some Black Mantas came, and everyone ran out. Sarah and Ariel ran with them and the Black Mantas gave chase.

Ariel and Sarah were outside, but then a special looking Black Manta grabbed Sarah.
"Ocean Master Nerrocen," says Ariel.
"And look who else is here," says Nerrocen.
It was Marina. "Hello, Ariel, my Darling, kiss me." Marina tried to kiss Ariel, but Ariel punched her.
"I would rather kiss a sea slug," says Ariel.
"Well, maybe you'll change your mind once we're married," says Marina.
"Marina, I can never love you," says Ariel, "you're horrible and besides, I love someone else. Sarah."
"Thanks for giving her a reason to want to kill me," says Sarah, "hi, I'm Ariel's girlfriend. Sorry, she's taken, but you're reasonable, right?"
"Daddy, maybe we can kill them both," says Marina.
"Of course, my little Guppy," says Nerrocen.
Nerrocen was about to kill Sarah, but then Ariel grabs him and flips him over her.
"That was a mistake," says Marina.
"I call the Right of Neptune," says Ariel, "if I win, you leave and if you win, I'm yours."
"I am not going to lose you to this shark," says Sarah.
"Deal," says Marina.
Ariel and Marina then fought. As it turns out, they both developed unusual strength. Everyone was watching the fight.
"You can do it, Babe," says Sarah, "the red-haired girl's my girlfriend. The black haired one can go to..."
Eventually, Ariel wins. "Leave," says Ariel.
"I will get you back," says Marina. She then leaves.

Ariel's become the most popular girl in school.
"They're all calling you Aquagirl," says Sarah.
"I don't think I'm gonna get used to the attention," says Ariel.
"Hey, I think your strength was probably being held back by the water pressure and now that you're in the surface, you're super strong."
"It's possible," says Ariel.
"Now, I have to ask. How much money do you have that Marina had to call in an army?"
"Oh, it's simple," says Ariel, "my parents are the rulers of Atlantis."
"Oh... what?"
Ariel then kisses a surprised Sarah and then walks away.
