Chapter 7:
Martian Manhunter:
Planet: Mars
City: Z'onn Z'orr
Year: 2022
Day: Saturday
Time: 11:00 a.m.
On the planet Mars, there was a war between the White Martians and the Green Martians. A war that killed the Reds, the Yellows, and even the cartoonish Darks. (I called them that to avoid any... awkwardness) There was once peace, with the exception being how the Green Martians treated the White Martians. This led to the White Martians to become a barbarian race. There was on in particular, D'el Sh'okk. He hated the Green Martians and wanted to exterminate them all. But there was a reason for this. He thinks Green Martians killed his family.
"The Green Martians are strong," says T'yllirnn D'rum.
"If only M'aatt M'orzz were here," says Shasheenn N'rorgam.
"He is a traitor who mated with a green martian," says D'el Sh'okk.
"I don't believe that rumor," says Shasheenn N'rorgam, "I still believe they killed him."
"They have doomed our planet for far too long," says D'el.
"Wait," didn't we kill the Reds and the Yellows," asks Ba'ekazz M'emnem.
"He has a point," says B'ynmatt T'lenn.
"Well... yes... but by accident," says D'el, "we were aiming for the greens!"
"There is too much blood," says J'ynn T'hum, "why can't we have peace again?"
"Peace is no longer our way," says D'el.
Then a large ship came.
"Is it the Green Martians," asks Ba'ekazz.
"Why? They've lived here as long as we have," says B'ynmatt.
"He has a point," says Shasheenn.
"Then we are being invaded," says D'el.
...
Aliens were in fact invading Mars. The White Martians fought against them, but it wasn't that easy. D'el then sees the leader and confronts him.
"I am speaking with you telepathically," says D'el, "identity yourself!"
"I am Despero and I am here to invade. Your planet will be a good test before I attack my real target, Earth."
"You will die first," says D'el.
D'el and Despero then fought, but Despero was winning. Despero was then knocking D'el down and was about to kill him...
...
D'el wakes up. "Where am I?"
"Safe." It was a green martian.
"You saved me," asks D'el.
"I did," says the Green.
"Why? This is no disguise. I am a White Martian."
"When a planet is in danger, does it matter what color you are," asks the Green, "we must all join forces."
"So, you can let the invaders kill my people," asks D'el.
"Would you trust me if I looked like you," asks the Green, "because that would be a mere deception. We are all shapeshifters. How do you know we have not been the same kind of martian the whole time, but we just remained in our colors. We are all martians are we not?"
"But your people treated us like garbage," says D'el.
"And for that, I apologize," says the Green, "but your people made the attack."
"Because of you," says D'el.
"You are correct," says the Green, "but right now, we need to save both sides."
"I don't even know your name and you expect me to trust you?"
"Very well. I am J'onn J'onzz. You?"
D'el then reluctantly decides to tell his name. "D'el Sh'okk."
"Then, come with me, D'el," says J'onn.
...
J'onn and D'el then make their way through the attack.
"Where are we going," asks D'el.
"There is a refuge," says J'onn, "a place that will except the both of us."
"Why do you trust me," asks D'el.
"You'll see," says J'onn. J'onn then knocks on the door.
"You realize we can phase through right," asks D'el.
"I prefer not to invade one's privacy," says J'onn, "you never know what they could be doing."
D'el never thought of that before. Then a green martian opens the door. "Hello Brother."
"Sister, we must come in."
They enter and D'el sees... "M'aatt M'orzz!"
"Hello D'el," says M'aatt.
"What are you doing here," asks D'el, "wait... you are a traitor!"
"It is true," says J'onn, "M'aatt is mated with my sister."
"I told Shasheenn you were a traitor," says D'el.
"Shasheenn never accepted that I only saw her as a comrade," says M'aatt, "I feel so sorry for her."
"Our people have hated each other," says J'onn's sister, "but M'aatt and I fell in love. I am J'ann."
"And you are okay with this," asks D'el.
"I was shocked at first," says J'onn, "but over time, M'aatt became like a brother to me. Ironic, because he also killed my actual brother."
"And you mated with him," asks D'el.
"Our brother tried to kill J'onn," says J'ann, "M'aatt was just trying to defend J'onn."
"We must figure out what to do about the aliens," says J'onn, "what do you know about them?"
"Their leader is named Despero," says D'el, "he is merely using Mars as practice for when he invades the Planet Earth."
"Then we must stop Despero so we can save both Mars and Earth," says J'onn.
"We would need a plan," says D'el.
...
J'onn and D'el try to convince the White and Green Martians to join forces, but no one agreed and knowing that the rumor is true, made the White Martians furious.
"That did not go well," says D'el.
"Then it is up to us," says J'onn.
...
D'el and J'onn then snuck onto Despero's ship.
"We may not survive this," says D'el.
"I will die for our people," says J'onn.
"You do say our people a lot," says D'el.
"Our people," says J'onn, "meaning all martians."
"I see," says D'el.
...
J'onn and D'el then enter the command chamber, but then Despero appears in front of them. "It seems we have visitors," says Despero.
"So many planets, why did you choose Mars," asks D'el.
Despero then smiles. "Because this planet and Earth are the only planets in the solar system that have different skin color races." Despero then reveals what the people of Earth look like. "I figured it would be amusing to try this planet because of that."
"You chose to practice with Mars as a joke," asks J'onn.
"Pretty much," says Depsero, "I did try with Earth before, but someone with superpowers destroyed my Metallos."
"And you will fall before us," says D'el.
D'el and J'onn then fight Despero and like before, Despero was winning. D'el refused to give up and this time, he managed to at least, flip Despero. Despero then gets up and blasts D'el. D'el is on the ground and just as Despero is about to kill D'el, J'onn gets in the way.
"Pathetic," says Despero.
"Again, you saved me," says D'el.
"Save our people," says J'onn as he lays there dying.
D'el then attacks Despero. "You seem mad," says Despero, "is he not a green?"
"He is more than that," says D'el, "he is a martian!" D'el now has the upper hand and starts beating Despero, but then Despero presses a button and D'el begins disappearing.
"Looks like you're going to Earth first."
...
D'el finds himself in an unfamiliar location. He is in some kind of city on a strange planet. People looked at him and were frightened by his appearance. D'el then goes into hiding.
...
D'el takes a human form and rents an apartment and uses the name, John Jones. He knows Despero is coming and has sworn vengeance on him.
