The next morning, Max was now on a boat, sailing in the middle of the ocean. "Captain's log: November 5th, 6:45 am. I've taken the Sea Serpent for a trip around the island of Oahu. It is by far the longest VOyage she has yet undertake and it's completion will signal that she's ready for our great journey for Bristol Bay, whose unspoiled walrus habitat will yield an abundance of-" Max's thought was interrupted when some ropes suddenly ripped off, causing a part of the main pole to fall and swing forward towards Max. He ducked away from the pole and the polo hit his steering wheel off into the ocean. "Damn it! Are you kidding me?!" He yelled.

Lucky for Max, he had a speedboat inside his ship. He rode his speedboat to land and arrived at a diner. He walks in and sees it's a pretty busy place in Hawili. He sat down at the nearest stool at a bar and a woman went up to him with a menu. "Ahola, honey. What can I get for you" she asked.

"I guess I'll just get a cup of coffee." Max said.

"You guess?" a woman asked.

"Yeah, I already ate breakfast. I need to kill some time before the Coast Guard gets here to tow my boat." He said.

"What did you eat?" she asked.

"I had a Reese's peanut butter cup and some Gatorade." He said with a smile.

"They're not breakfast, I'll give you spam and eggs." she said before walking away.

Max shrugs his shoulders as he picks up his newspaper and then a huge cook named Pete comes up to him.

"Hey, so you like the peanut butter cups?" Pete asked.

"Yeah…" Max said.

"Want me to put peanut butter cups in your eggs?" Pete asked.

Max looked confused and kinda in disbelief. "No thanks, I'm good." he said.

Pete nodded and then walked away.

Max opens his newspaper and starts reading and then suddenly something was shining in his eyes. He looks up and sees a female with tan-covered skin, a brown nose, a beauty mark, long wavy red hair, thick red eyebrows and a slim and curvy model figure. She was wearing a short-sleeved teal t-shirt, navy blue jean shorts with a black belt that has a round silver buckle, lavender earrings and white flats. She was simply sitting at a booth, about a feet away from Max. She was reading a book while holding a butter knife, not realizing the sun brightness reflecting on the knife to Max. He was in awe as he has never seen a girl that beautiful, compared to the other girls he has been with. He sees the woman from earlier bringing her order of waffles to her table.

"Hey Sue, nice haircut." the red-haired girl said.

"Mahola, Roxanne." Sue says as she smiles as walks away.

At least, Max knows that her name is Roxanne and now all he has to do is to get her to know his name. He now sees Roxanne, cutting up her waffles and starting sculpting with it. At first, he was confused but then when she was done, he saw that she made a volcano out of waffles with coffee inside so that the steam from the coffee could come out of the sculpture, which made Max love her even more because of how creative she was. An older man was sitting across from Max. He looks behind him, at what Max was looking at and then back at Roxanne. "Are you staring at her or me? Because you're starting to freak me out." The man said to Max.

"Settle down and eat your pancakes, would ya?" Max said to the man as he continued looking at Roxanne.

Later that day, Max was kneeling down, helping out a walrus, who was having a baby, using a scanner to search for the baby through the computer. A girl named Stacy was there to help him by holding the computer for him. Max was telling Stacy about the girl he saw. "I think she's a local girl. I wanted to go up to her but I was kinda off my game but man, was she cute, though." he said.

"I thought you liked your bitches from out of state." Stacy said.

"Yeah, that's usually my policy. Make sure I don't get tied down." Max said. "Press the spacebar for me."

Stacy pressed the spacebar on the computer and there was the baby walrus. "There she is. Congratulations, mommy." Max said to the walrus as the walrus went into the pool.

"Sounds to me like someone is afraid of commitment. Let me guess, your highschool sweetheart got drunk at a party and then cheated on you with a whole wrestling team." Stacy with a chuckle.

"Close, it was actually one of my college girlfriends, Tracy. And it wasn't a wrestling team, it was her academic advisor." Max said.

"Oh, so she likes older men." Stacy said.

"Actually, older women. About 50 years older." Max said.

"I hope you shot the stupid tramp!" Stacy said.

"Woah, what's with the "tramp" and "bitches" talking? Are you drunk or something?" Max asked with raised eyebrows.

"I apologize for the nasty talk. I've been kinda grouchy due to the lack of physical interactions." Stacy said.

"Oh."

"Shut up, because here comes a one-time only opportunity." Stacy said before walking close towards Max. "What I will do is go inside your office and become naked." She said with a lovely smile. "Next part is up to you. I may not be as limber as I once was but I make up for it with enthusiasm and willingness to experiment." She said as her smile became more slutly.

Max had a blank look on his face. "Uh, I don't know if you realize but I'm not into guys." Max said before walking away, leaving Stacy in disbelief about that remark.

The next day, Max came back to the diner from yesterday and this time, he sits down at a booth and sees Roxanne, sculpting with her waffles as usual. Pete came up to Max.

"Hey, Peanut Butter cups." Pete greeted Max.

"Hey, Mr. Could-Kill-Me-In-One-Punch." Max said as he shook Pete's hands.

"How are you doing?" Pete asked.

"Great, couldn't get enough of those spam and eggs. How about you fry some up and throw some eggs on it, please?" Max said.

"You got it." Pete said before walking past Roxanne. "Hey, Roxy." he said.

"Hey, Pete." Roxanne said as she was finishing up her castle made of waffles. She put her final piece on the sculpture as a door but it keeps falling off. It seems to Max that she was struggling. He thought of an idea as he grabbed a toothpick and went up to her.

"You know, you could do this…" He grabs the door piece and sticks on the toothpick and then sticks those both onto the sculpture. "It's kind of a hinge." He said as he moved it like a regular door, making squeaking noises while doing it.

Roxanne smiled at the idea. "Now, why didn't I think of that?" She said.

"Well, you're too close to the project. Don't be hard on yourself." Max said.

"Right." Roxanne said. "Sometimes you need an outsider's perspective. Fresh eye never hurts." She said before holding her hand out to Max. "I'm Roxanne."

"Hey, I'm Max Goof." He said as he shook her hand. He stands there, continuing staring at her while she does the same. "Well, I better get back to my seat. Keep up the good work." He said as he started walking back to his booth.

"Wait, I see that you're sitting there alone. Do you wanna come and sit over here?" Roxanne offered.

"Sure, that would be great, if that's alright." Max said with a smile as he sat down across from her at her booth.

"So are you an architect?" Roxanne asked.

"I am not. I'm into fish." Max answered.

"Oh, that's where the smell is coming from." Roxanne said with a smile.

"Yeah…" Max said with a nervous smile as he was kinda embarrassed. "I was feeding a walrus this morning and I thought I got most of it off of me but I guess I didn't." Max said, slightly rubbing his hands together.

"I love the smell." Roxanne said.

"No you don't. Fish don't even like that smell." Max said.

"No, really I do. My dad was a fisherman and he and my brother, Doug, would go out to sea for months at a time. And I miss them so much while they're gone that when they come back, I just hold onto them for five minutes each. And they smell just like your hands, the best smell in the world." Roxanne said with a lovely smile.

Max started smiling as well. "Well, my hands are available for all of your sniffing pleasures anytime you need them." He joked.

Roxanne giggled at his joke and Max chuckled as well. "Wanna?" He offered as he raised his hands to her.

"Okay." Roxanne said before grabbing his hands and smelling his hand and was in awe of the smell of fish.

Few hours later, Max and Roxanne were still sitting at the diner as Max was giving some facts about some of the animals he works with.

"Sea lions are known for their athleticism and dolphins are known for their intelligence and walruses are known for their…um…" Max said as he suddenly stopped himself.

"Tusks?" Roxanne asked.

"Their tusks, yeah. But also their "male parts" can be pretty gigantic."

"Oh." Roxanne said with a chuckle, understanding what he's trying to say.

"Yeah, that's the second biggest thing out of all the mammals." Max said with a smile.

"What's the first?" She asked.

"Uh, I think that guy over there." Max said as he pointed at Pete in the kitchen, chopping a small can of spam with a huge knife.

Roxanne laughed loudly at the joke and then looked back at Max.

"I like your laugh." Max complimented.

"I like that you're making me laugh." She said.

Sue comes up to their booth. "I hate to break this up, but we're setting up for lunch." She said.

"Oh, okay, sorry Sue." Roxanne said as they got up and started heading out of the diner.

"The real cool thing about walruses is that they're mysterious." Max said.

"Mysterious?" Roxanne wondered.

"Yeah, we don't really know what they're like in the wild." He said.

"Don't they just sleep on icebergs and yawn all the time?" She asked.

"Well, all we really see is what they do outside of the water but who knows what they do on the inside, where they spend two-thirds of their lives." Max said.

"Well, maybe they're intimidating the other creatures with their big winkies." Roxanne said.

"That is one theory, yeah." He said.

Both Roxanne and Max shared another chuckle as she looked at her watch.

"Oh, I have to go." Roxanne said.

"Where are you going?" Max asked.

"It's my dad's birthday and every year we go and pick a pineapple. It's a family tradition." Roxanne said softly.

"That sounds nice. Okay, well, I have a great time." Max said.

"Me too." Roxanne said. "Umm, would you like to have breakfast with me again tomorrow, same time? Because I teach art class at 10." Roxanne asked.

"Really?" Max asked. "I wish I could but…yeah I'll be there." Max said with a smile.

"Okay." Roxanne said with a giggle. Max started walking away but she stopped him by grabbing his arm. "Wait…one for the road." She said before sniffing his hand again and then they both shared a laugh as they started walking to their vehicle.

"Oh my gosh…" Max said to himself.

"Oh my gosh…" Roxanne said to herself as she started dancing in joy. A truck next to Roxanne's car drove and there was Max also dancing in joy. When they both turned to each other, they both gasped and immediately stopped dancing.

"Shit…" Max said to himself as he quickly went inside his car. Roxanne also tried her best to stop herself from laughing as she went inside of her car. "I…had a bee on me, it was huge." He said.

"Oh…" Roxanne said, clearly not buying any of it but she didn't care.

A man that watched the whole thing was simply sitting outside. "E nana i kela mau mea ino elua.", which means "look at those two shitheads." He said to himself as he walked away.
