NEW NOTE (1/31/24): OKAY FOR THE OLDER READERS you don't have to reread this whole chapter but you do have to read the part when MML frees Bunzo and the group have a chat. I've done a massive change there and I recommend you read that.
"HmmghhaaaAHHH!?" I quickly let go of the metal shutter, stepping back as I lightly blew on my hands that were throbbing in pain. "Ow..." I groan looking at the weird two metal shutter door. Like seriously why is there one going up and another going down? Why not just have one and call it a day. "Yep, that's not going to wor- Huggy?"
Huggy grabs both of my hands - crouching down to get a better view - looking over the faint indents from the shutter surrounded by the lightly red discoloration of my skin. I heard a faint low whimper as he saw my hands and gently tried to blow on them too. I could only stare in bewilderment at the sight of a 17' tall toy crouching down trying to help ease the pain in my hand.
"..." A small smile of nostalgic form on my face as I've briefly recall of a time that I had gotten injured during one of our games of tags. Huggy had a massive freak out at the sight of blood coming out of my nose, when I accidentally ran into a door - due to me not paying attention. In his panic he scooped me up holding me tightly to his chest (almost breaking my ribs if I hadn't said something) and quickly search for a worker to help attended to me.
Luckily Doctor Amanda was still there going over paperwork when Huggy broke down her door. Almost giving the poor woman a heart attack. In the mixture of trying to calm herself down and figuring out what Huggy was trying to communicate through his mix's grunts and growls, all the while I'm just dangling in his arms with a blank face wondering when I'll be put down as I was getting a bit dizzy from all the manhandling.
Once Doctor Amanda figures out that Huggy was panicking because I was bleeding. She took me out of his arms - who put up a big fight - and assess the damage. Taking note that it was nothing serious and that I only need a tissue up my nose, she quickly scolded the both of us. One begins that I had snuck out of my room past curfew to play with Huggy and secondly the fact that I was distracting him from his guard duties. Huggy was mainly scolded for playing along and not immediately taking me back to my room.
After that there were more locks place on my door to prevent me from sneaking out to play, though, that didn't stop Kissy from helping me get out from my window and helping me sneak out. Those poor workers were so confused on how I kept getting out of my room.
Looking at Huggy - who is still blowing - I gently pulled my hands out of his grasp causing him to look at me in confusion. "It's okay Huggy, I'm perfectly fine. The pain will fade away in a few moments." He frowned looking down at my hands and back at my eyes a couple of times.
"I'm fine, I swear! It's nothing serious that needs medical attention. Anyway!" I held my hands to my hips as I nodded my head to the shutter "You want to give it a go? You might have better luck then me."
He looked at my hands one last time before letting out a huff, getting up and putting both hands on each shutter and began to push. Watching him trying to open the shutter, I recall us coming down to this room, spotting a door on the left that is locked (what else is new), a giant hole in the wall on the right (how the hell did that happen?) and this metal shutter.
It was partially cracked where one could glimpse to the other side. I was able to make out a cutout board of Bunzo Bunny and a room that I believe is Musical Memory. Of course, my first thought was that we need to head in the big hole in the wall, but I thought we could try and get this shutter open to save the time.
But alas...
Huggy was only able to open it a bit further but not wide enough for either one of us to squeeze through.
"Can't get it to go any wider huh, bud?"
Huggy huff letting go of the shutter, shaking his head and looking at me with a face that read 'Now what'?
"Looks like we are taking a detour. C'mon."
Carefully stepping over part of the wall we made our way further down. Walking down the hall we passed by some chain gated wall that held some barrels behind it; approaching the end of the hall we stumble across another big hole in the ground.
"This is the fourth hole we've come across." I huff examining the hole. Thankfully it's not deep and I can see that it acts like a tunnel. "Hmm..." I hop down the hole, having to crouch down so I don't bump my head against the upper floor. Looking down I can see that it is indeed a tunnel of sorts, I poke my head back out looking up at Huggy.
"So... apparently there is a tunnel down here." I slowly started. Seriously how did this tunnel come to be and who dug it? "And I'm guessing it'll lead us to the Musical room, albeit a different way." I click the power button for the flashlight to get a better view. "Guess that means we are taking a detour."
I crawled a bit further down to give Huggy some room to get in the hole. Once he got in and crouch down a frown on his face as he examines the tunnel. I immediately notice the problem, unlike in the vents the tunnel is much smaller in height. Even for me, who was to crawl on my hands and knees. Huggy could do the same but that'll leave his back rubbing against the roof of the cave and some of them are a bit jagged compared to the ground.
We definitely don't need him to get any more injuries than he already has. I'm still not sure if his wounds will heal up like me. If not and he keeps getting torn apart…I'm not sure I'll have enough threads too stich him back up.
"Oh boy..." I mutter trying to think of a way for Huggy to crawl through. Though at this rate he might have to wait for me, and I know he isn't going to like that idea in the least.
Before I could open my mouth, Huggy seems to have come up with an idea, gesturing me to move back a bit. "You got an idea?" I asked shuffling backwards; he nods as he laid down on his stomach with his elbows prop up. "Oh..." I blink down at him. He seems to be doing something call an army crawl.
"That could work, great thinking Huggy!" He grunted shuffling a bit forward to get the feel of it. "Right..." I turn back around "Let see where this tunnel leads us to..."
"...Man, that was deep." I grunted crawling out of the tunnel into a dark space. Standing up I dusted the dirt off my hands as Huggy crawled himself out getting back up to his full height. "Now where are we?"
Taking the flashlight of the Grab Pack I move it around seeing a control panel in front of us along with a green tape laying on it. "Okay...guess we'll need to find a tv somewhere." I look to the right where I kept hearing a loud beeping noise and seeing something red flashing. When I pointed the flashlight in that direction it showed a lever attach to the wall.
"Huh..." I walked over to it, grabbing hold of the lever "Maybe this turns the power on to the room."
Once the power came back on, I turn off my flashlight, putting it back on the Grab Pack and proceed to look around the room now that it's not pitch black. The first thing that crosses my mind was 'this almost looks like Make-A-Friend' when I was examining all the machines here. One of them just look done with everything and that's a mood, though...I really do wonder if that's how it was supposed to look like and it's not like a living machine and something killed it. I mean they made living toys! Why not make a living machine that can't take a vacation!
"I guess this machine make the hands for the Grab-Pack..." I mused as I took note of the 'Molding Room' and that one of the yellow machines has hand module in it, probably meant to make the shape for the hands. When I look back up to Huggy, a weird sudden thought cross my mind after what happen when I completed using the machine back in Make-A-Friend.
"So, uh..." I began as he looked down at me curiosity "You're not… going to chase me again by any chance, right? Once I get the hand..." He looked at me with confusion and slowly shook his head. "Okay...just wanted to be sure. Don't really need a nightmare fuel 2.0 chase right now." I stated picking up the tape walking over to the tv that was sitting at the far end on the left.
Slipping the tape in I watch - that for once, it's not a some creepy/tragic tape- as a tutorial about the Green Hand, to which I'm guessing I'm going to make, pops on screen. I read the subtitles appearing taking note that this hand can temporarily hold electricity for about 10 seconds, and it can also temporarily power other systems. Which...neat that could come in handy.
Though it appears they are both at the same time. So, I'll need to time it perfectly when I need to get both Huggy and I through a door without it closing on us. Maybe I could have Huggy go first just in case we don't make the time limit? I thought glancing at the power outlet on the wall to the right then to the other one on the left next to the vent. I'll probably test it out first before I make a final judgment on that call.
"Alright...well, guess we are going to be making a green hand, bud." I said walking back over to the control panel looking over at all four buttons, I notice the one of the far rights is flashing red. Underneath it is some kind of water symbol. "Guess this is the one we need to push first."
Pushing it the light automatically turn green and the sounds of plastic balls falling could be heard. Looking up I saw some well...I'm guessing its plastic balls falling into the dead looking machine; once it fills up it seems as if it raised the inside temperatures as the balls metal into some kind of liquid. When it was complete a next red flashing light appeared above with the water symbol that had an arrow pointing down.
"Hmm...I'm guessing this is meant to drain it to the tall machine but uh..." When I look between the tall yellow machine and the blue one, I notice that pipe leading to it is disconnected. If I press the button, it might just spill all the materials out.
"Hey Huggy." I called out to him "Do you think you could fix that pipe over there?" I pointed to the pipe. He looked at it, eyes moving from the pipe to the yellow machine, and I think he came to the same conclusion that I did as he nodded walking over to the pipe and carefully pull it back into its place. "Thanks!"
After that we didn't run into too much trouble, that is until we needed to paint the hands. When I went to press the hand symbol of the machine the painter made a weird sound. "What the..." I walked over to it catching sight of the red words appearing on the screen 'NO PAINT IN MACHINE'.
"Well great...now what?'" I huff scratching my head looking around to see if there was anything we could use. If we don't find the paint needed for the hand, then we're screwed. If push comes to shove, we could just turn around and have Huggy break down that door and see where it leads or try one more time in getting the metal shutter open.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Huggy tapped my shoulder, giving a hum of acknowledgment. I looked up at him as he pointed to something above him. Looking up I saw a conveyor belt along with a catwalk next to it.
"Oh! Think a can of paint could be up there?"
He looks down at me and nods.
"Hmm...question is how am I going to get up there." I mussed "I could ask you to pick me up-" I was cut off by the sounds of lights suddenly turning on, we both look over seeing the lights above where the catwalk is turned on, followed by a loud groaning sound as if something is opening up.
"Huh?" Hopping over the glass case holding the hands, I look over to see a set of stairs going up. I turn to look back at Huggy "I'm going to head on up and check to see if there's any paint, okay?" He nods walking back over to the control panel as I made my way over to the stairs, as I was about to head up, I heard the sounds of the conveyor belt moving.
'Why is it moving' I thought to myself making my way up. My question was soon answered as I made it up to the walkway spotting a can of paint moving along the belt to the paint machine. "Huh...that's why."
I quickly caught up to the paint just as it reaches the machine. "Hey Huggy, I found the paint!" I called out to him as I pick it up sliding it in the hole. "Think you can hit the button?" I heard a grunt of confirmation as the sounds of the machine spurting out the paint reach my ears. "Thanks, I'm coming down now."
When I got to the bottom, I saw Huggy looking down at all of the five hands - all freshly painted and ready to go - sitting out of the glass case. Guess he push the last two buttons. "Thanks for that, Huggy." I said picking up on of the hands examining it.
So, this thing can hold electricity? I thought feeling the texture of the hand, I can quiet make out what the hand is made out of if it can hold electricity even temporary. "I'm not even going to try stressing my brain about it..." I mutter hooking the hand in its place. "Alright that should do! Let's go and test out this hand before we go."
Before I could even walk to the power outlet, Huggy grabbed me by the pack preventing me from moving forward. "Oof!" I let out a grunt when I was forcibly jerked to a stop. I look over my shoulder seeing him letting go the collar of my jacket and holding out a Green Hand.
"...You want me to bring an extra one?" I ask slowly, turning around to face him. He nods pushing his arm out further to where it was basically touching my chest.
I frown "Why would you..." Flashback of Mommy taking my Red Hand away "On second thought... good idea. Never know when one might need a spare!" I grab the hand and putting in my bag.
"Okay." I started as I walked up next to the outlet "I want to test and see if the time is actually ten seconds before we move on, sound good?"
Once I got the 'Ok' from him, I shot the Green Hand to the outlet watching it light up with electricity sparkling around it. I began to count out loud the moment that I shot the hand to the outlet watching as once it hit the ten second mark the sparks had slowly faded away and the hand went back to its normal color.
"Looks like the instruction video was right about it holding it for only ten seconds." I said looking over at the outlet then to the one next to the vent. "Now let's test and see if it's correct about how both are on the same timer."
Repeating what I did before, I hit the hand to the outlet walking up to the door and waited for the five second mark, before shooting the hand to the other outlet. And just as I reach to number 10 the door slammed back down. "Huh...so it is ten seconds in grand total." I glance over at Huggy as I walked back over to the power outlet.
"Hey Huggy, it be better if you go first once I get that door to open." I said, "This way we won't get separated if the door closes between us."
He looked at me then to the door back to me and nodded his head walking over to the vent.
"Okay." I fired the cannon to the outlet and quickly shot it at the one next to the vent as I ran up to it, watching the door slowly open up. The second it started to crack open, Huggy bent down and crawled inside. Once he was a good distance in, I hop on in just in time for the door to close, not even two seconds later. We both look at the closed door before locking eyes on each other.
"Guess there no going back huh?" He nods "Welp lead the way big guy!"
Walking up the ramp Huggy paused, turning his head over his shoulder looking down at me. "What's up?" He carefully maneuvered his body to the left letting me see past him. In front of him is another closed vent and to the right is an open hall.
"Hmm...I see now."
He's definitely asking if he wants us to go forward and break down the door or turn down the open hall. "For now, let's just go down the hall if it leads to nowhere, we'll backtrack and have you bust down the door." He nods before shuffling up a bit more before turning down the hall. Following behind him I watch as he made another sharp turn to the left and as I made to turn too, I spotted a big hole in the wall.
"Huh...guess we don't have to worry about turning around then." I said carefully stepping out of the vent looking around the room. Looks like we made it on the other side I thought upon spotted the gated fence around the corner of the hall. Huggy grunted in agreement before moving up the stairs.
"Whoa...wait up!" I quickly ran after him. Getting to the top of the stairs I immediately notice the strange metal shutter that Huggy and I were trying to open on the left, guess we really did make it to the other side. Walking up next to Huggy, who was standing at the entrance of the other room I look over to the cut out of Bunzo Bunny, spotting a red button.
Curious, I push the button hearing a happy male voice speaks out.
"I know when your birthday issss~! June 28th Huahohoho~!"
I blink...Ookay...though the voice sounds familiar, maybe I heard it from some cartoon show? Shaking my head, I look up at Huggy, who was still staring into the room, "Ready to move on?" He looks at me with a nod. "Alright." I moved on ahead taking note of the small walkway leading to a circular platform with some strange machine just above the platform.
Just as my feet touch the platform a loud sound followed by a startle yelp had me serving on my feet to see that the walkway had drop down to the ground. "Huggy!?" I got on my hands and knees leaning over the edge to see that the sudden drop had knocked Huggy on his back. He slowly got up to a sitting position shaking his head as he carefully got back up to his feet.
"Are you okay?" I called out to him as he looked at the walkway lying on the ground. Huggy had to tilt his head back in order to see me nodding his head before letting out an annoyed huff, which I understand. Huggy stands around 17 feet tall, the platform is much taller than him probably by an extra 7 feet.
While his arms are long, they aren't long enough to reach the edge of the platform, it's possible that I could use the Grab Pack and pull him up. And I also don't want to take the chance of pulling on his right arm in case of accidentally tearing at his stiches, though I could just grab his left arm instead…
Just as I was about to make that suggestion a loud clanging noise caught our ears.

"...!?"
I snapped my head up to the open hole that is above me seeing a yellow and green figure up at the top of the hole.
"What the-!?" I got up to my feet stepping back a bit to get a better view of the figure up top. It was pretty hard to make out, but I believe by the shape and color that is Bunzo Bunny. In his hands are an instrument called cymbals if I recall correctly from my time in high school band club. I squinted my eyes noticing that it appears that his legs are kicking. It's hard to make out...but if I had to guess...he seems...happy?
'… …'
'… … …'
"!" I winced at the sudden sharp pain that went through my head as blurry voice slowly started to come through.
'Red...Blue...'
'Bunzo! Bunzo!'
'Violent...white...'
'Happy Birthday to you~!'
'Now you two, you know that you can't be here.'
'Let's practice our song some more!'
'Practice more! Party more!'
'That's right!'
"..Hmngh!" I groan as the pain slowly started to fade away "Man..." Slowly opening my eyes - seeing my vision slowly starting to focus - I look back up to see Bunzo (whom I defiantly have a relationship with and could some-what explain why he look happy to see me) had stop playing his cymbals but was still kicking his feet a bit and if I focus a bit more, I could faintly hear some kind of noise coming out of him.
Is he trying to talk?
I was brought out of my thought as three big screens surrounding the platform lit up and began to play a tutorial video. "I really wish things would stop interrupting me..." The white screen fizzed out to purple show casing the Playtime Co. logo before showing a platform with a yellow figure standing in front of four different colors.
"Welcome to Musical Memory!" A male voice came through the speakers and a voice that I haven't run into, so I don't know who is giving the instruction of this game. "This Advance Memory and Cognitive recognition test is designed to stimulate several segments of the brain." The screen changed to an up close of the yellow figure head before showing a CAT scan of a human brain with an arrow pointing at certain parts of the head. "Allowing us to see how quickly and efficiently your brain works."
"Ugh...I faintly recall seeing this a kid." I groaned "Can't believe that they show this stuff to children..."
The screen changed to the view of the platform that I'm standing on showing the yellow figure moving to the different color buttons shown on the mini screen before it. 'A sequence of colors will be shown, and you must recreate the exact sequence using buttons around you.' The next scene change was a different angle of the platform showing the figure hitting the buttons and Bunzo coming down the screen. 'Bunzo will slowly lower towards you. When you complete a color pattern correctly, Bunzo will rise back up. When you input a pattern incorrectly, Bunzo will lower towards you faster. If Bunzo reaches you, your test is over. The test will become more difficult as it continues with longer patterns, and quicker succession. That's all. Good luck!' After showing the logo one last time the screen and more went dark, leaving me to quickly go over what I just saw and heard.
A memory game huh. I faintly recall playing this game when I was younger, sadly I can't fully recall how many rounds I need to play. Thankfully games like these I'm pretty good at...to a degree. Too bad a memory jog about the game won't help me out since I'm pretty sure every round and new game the patterns are always different.
"Well...let's just hope that my memory is good, it has been a while since I've played any memory type games."
"Ooohh~!"
SLAM
"!?"
I let out a startle yelp as I quickly turn my body to where the noise and the sound of Mommy Long Legs came from. I quickly spotted her sitting against the glass observant room up above, upside down. Sadly, with it being really dark in the room that I'm in and the lights showing in the room, it cast a dark shadow on the front of her body making it hard to make out her facial expressions.
"Isn't it amazing? Mommy hasn't seen the place up and running in years!" She spoke. Even though I can't make out her face I can tell by the tone that she sounds excited. I suppose one would be excited about seeing it up and running again after it's been shut down for over 10 years. "Mommy can only imagine how excited Bunzo must be. It's been such a long time since the two of you have been able to play! He was quite devastated when he heard you have left. Ooh~, the joy he must be feeling upon seeing you again!"
As I was looking up at Mommy in the observant room listening her talking, I notice a shadow from above slowly forming. Snapping my head up I was quickly startled upon seeing Bunzo slowly coming down from the tunnel. When he lowered a bit down past the hole, I was able to notice a second set of teeth in his mouth.
I couldn't help but frown upon seeing those extra sharp teeth. Did he always have those? My memory is pretty fuzzy regarding Bunzo, however I'm pretty sure that I don't recall seeing those extra sharp teeth in his mouth. His main appearance is the same, yellow fur coat with small tufts of fur on his chest and on the top of his head. He still has his little green party hat that matches with his overalls with suspenders and the buttons; his cheeks have orange circles painted on him as if he were blushing. Surrounding his beady black eyes are green triangular markings similar to a clown.
Everything is the same from what I can faintly recall, and it matches with the poster and cut board we've passed before entering in this room, the only thing different now are the jagged fan teeth surrounding his buck teeth and a row of them at the bottom of his mouth. Despite the extra set of sharp teeth I... don't feel any malice coming from him.
Compared to when I first met Huggy, whom I barely remember much of anything about and at the time I had thought it was just a toy statue not a living breathing toy, so I didn't get a 'feel' around him to tell if he was good or not. And when we came face-to-face in the Make-A-Friend I remember feeling the murderous intent coming from him and I knew if I had let him near me, I would be a goner.
However, after gaining my past memories of him and calling out to who I was any of the intent that I had felt had gone away and now whenever I'm near him I feel safe like I know Huggy will never lay a hand on me.
What I feel around Huggy is the same feeling that I'm getting just by being near Bunzo like I know he has no intention of hurting me. Despite the sharp teeth he has, just by looking into his black eyes and his body language one can tell that he is really happy to see me just like Mommy had said 'the joy he must be feeling upon seeing you again'. Because of that feeling I can feel my body relax a bit knowing that I don't have much to worry about this game.
And it looks like Bunzo agrees with me because what he did next shocked me.
Clanging his cymbals together I watch his mouth began to move form words in a raspy - almost broken - like voice.
"...Li...ly...ba..ck...happy...pl..ay again!"
He can talk!? I blink in shock before recalling hearing a clear voice that is similar to the cut out Bunzo in a brief memory, but that begs the question on why his voice sounds like that? Compared to Mommy and Poppy they both speak just fine and Bunzo sounded just fine in that memory. Did something happen to his voice box?

"Oh! Guess that means Bunzo is ready to play! How exciting~"
I'm snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of Mommy speaking again as I watch Bunzo fly back up to the top of the ceiling. I lower my head looking out of the corner of my eye up to Mommy before looking over at the four colors (Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow) machines that came up. I can faintly hear Bunzo clanging his cymbals as the three screens lit up in a blue color while a voice and words on the screen called out the color.
BLUE
Huffing, I rolled my shoulders a couple of times before putting both hands on the trigger for the Grab-Pack pointing the left hand to the color blue.
Mommy Long Legs...
I fired the blue hand to the color button hearing a 'wow!' coming from the speakers along with the sounds of Bunzo instrument getting fainter as he rose back up.

The feeling that I have around her is different from the others. With Huggy and Bunzo—whom I still don't fully remember—I feel the sense of safety...of being reminded of home. Knowing that I'll be okay with them there.

When I first met Poppy my feelings towards her where more neutral than anything. I didn't feel any ill intent coming from her, but nothing was sparking anything positive around her either. Could it be the fact that I don't have any memories of her despite telling me of the things we did together? I felt some kind of memory trying to coming through as she spoke, but nothing came.
And... well...despite not getting a good or bad read on her I don't think she means me any harm; not to mention before she was capture Poppy was planning on helping us get out of here. So yes, compared to Bunzo and Huggy, I don't feel like I need to be wary around her unlike with Mommy.

"...How long is the first round again?" I huffed, taking aim once again. "At least this round is pretty simple..."
But with Mommy though...
The vibes I get around Mommy is like trying to catch a sock in a tornado. During our first meeting I felt very uncomfortable around her (looking back I think Huggy had picked up that there is something wrong with her as well) she may seem - and it could be real- happy to see me again after all this time. But one look at her eyes you can tell that she is not fully there in the head, and I know that I'll need to keep my guard up around her.

On the other hand, during that weird flashback/reliving a memory moment, Mommy was sane, and my younger self felt comfortable around her. Though her name is Mommy Long Legs, she does give off a motherly feel about her and I knew that I saw her as a mother figure. And when I think about it, before coming here -before even being aware of this place I had always had brief glimpse of what I had thought was my birth mother and I remember thinking that she must have loved the color pink. Now though it all makes sense upon seeing Mommy Long Legs. It wasn't my mother it was someone whom I thought of as a mother.
And yet...going back to when we first met after 10 years there was a small part of me that felt safe around Mommy even though she gave off some bad vibes. If it wasn't for Huggy holding me back...I... honestly don't know what I would have done. Every part of me was screaming to stay away and yet there was something telling me it was okay.
'WOW!'
The sound of cheering and happy music playing as I hit the last button, I look up to see Bunzo being pulled back up as the same voice came out of the speaker.
ROUND TWO
I frowned "I guess there are five rounds before starting the next one..."

Until I can get a better read on Mommy and/or what pieces of memories that come through around her...I'll be treating her as someone to stay clear from as much as possible.

"Let's try this again."

VIOLE(N)T
What.
Did...I hear that last one, right?
I look at the screen seeing it written out in the words of 'violet' and yet I couldn't help but think that I thought it had said violent instead of violet. It could have been a trick of my hearing.
"Hmngh!" I shook my head quickly hitting the other colors before coming to a pause. How the hell am I supposed to hit violet? There is no violet color here! I mean red and blue will make the color purple...so I guess I could go with that?
When I hit the red color the 'Aw' sound came through.
"Fuck!" I cursed in a bit of a panic. Because I had hesitated for a moment Bunzo was pretty far down, but since I missed up his even further down! Almost popping out of the hole.
Even though there is a small part of me that isn't to worry about losing the game...the bigger part is panicking because...
It's not Bunzo, I'm worried about its Mommy.
Bunzo wouldn't care if I win or lose, he just seems happy to see me again. Mommy on the other hand...I shivered feeling her eyes boring into the back of my skull.
"Oh dear, it's seemed you're in a bit of a bind, Lily dear~"
She might kill me if I lose if Bunzo doesn't do the job!
"DamnitDamnit!"
After re-hitting the buttons, I looked back over the four colors again feeling my heart rate go up as the sound of Bunzo cymbals get closer.
Damn it, what am I supposed to do!
*GROWLS*
The sound of Huggy growling had caused me to turn in that direction. And in doing so, showed me the violet color button was behind me.
I felt a small spark of joy upon seeing that color.
"Thanks, Huggy!" I called out hitting the color, silently cheering when hearing the 'wow' voice as Bunzo went back up to the ceiling; and the voice calling out 'Round three'.
The next round starts with the color violet again and now I know I'm not completely hearing things. That voice is defiantly saying 'violent' then violet, but I just can't figure out why.
When I got to the third part of this round the same thing happen again.
OR(AN)GAN(E)
"Again!"
The screen says orange but just like with the color violet, it sounded like it said organ like the human organ not the instrument.
"What the hell..." I mutter under my breath as I turn around looking for the color. Thanks to Huggy help with the last color I now know to look around when something new pops up. "I hope this is some kind of glitch from not being in use after all these years and it's not really saying those words." I really can't recall if that was the case. If I wasn't actively paying attention to the words, I'd probably wouldn't have even noticed much less bat an eye to it. It was probably like that with the other kids too.

"Yeah...I'm defiantly hearing that right."
Continuing on with the next part, at least this time the new color 'white' didn't have any...non-child friendly words.
"But seriously...the first round had five games the second had six...is this one going to have seven?" If this keeps up, I'm not quite sure how long I'll be able to last, the flashes of colors go by quicker each round making it harder to keep up.
ROUND FOUR
"When will this end..." I moaned.
BLUE
I blink...looking at the screen in confusion.
The letter says blue, but the screen is in a turquoise color. Blinking I spun around not seeing any new color stand popping up; looking back at the screen I raise the left canon to the blue color and firing it. Hearing the 'wow' I let out a sigh of relief. "Maybe there's a glitch in the screens...?" Though I highly doubt that's the case. It was probably programmed to be like that to throw the player off.
BLUE
J
I blinked multiple times in confusion. The screen had turned red when it had shouted out blue then went to white when calling out the letter J. Forget the letter what the hell was up with the screen color choices. Now I'm really going to need to focus more on the words then the color of the screens.
"J is not even a color..." I mutter looking around quickly spotting the letter next to the white.

"...Heart?"
At this point the screens are just randomly flashing different colors compared to the actual color word. Is it because they are now throwing in different symbols? As the rounds continue on, I quickly notice that this round mainly consists with symbols then colors. Which makes it a bit hard to remember when the screen changes in different colors then keeping white. And the voice is speaking so fast along with the screen flashing in different colors and symbols that I can barely keep up. If there are more rounds after this...I don't have much hope of actually winning this game.
"...Oh...My...God..." I whispered in disbelief spinning around as a ton more symbols and colors came down from the upper part of the ceiling where Bunzo comes out of.
"I'm sooo fucked..."
What the actual hell is this!
There wasn't much time to give it more thought as the screen lit up, flashing, and announcing different words in colors so fast that I couldn't keep up. On top of that Bunzo is now slowly coming down.

Everything is moving so fast that I can't keep up with what's going on. Do I shoot or not? I don't know what the hell is happening!
"Where...what do I..."
I'm spinning around in a circle trying desperately to keep up with the words flashing across the screen while looking for all the words in symbols laying around the platform; but with my breathing picking up in speed in what I'm guessing is a panic attack followed by Bunzo 'clanging' noise slowly growing louder the further he is coming down, Huggy yelling in the background followed by Mommy's laughter. I can barely register what is going on around me.
"...Hmnghh!" I can feel the tears building up in my eyes as I'm five seconds away from having a break down.

"Hahaha, well now, Mommy wasn't expecting this to happen~!"
"RAAGHH!"
To do...
With that sudden thought I finally collapsed to my knees in despair. "There's just no way..." It's game over. There's no way to beat this round. The voice isn't stopping in its commands, it's just keeps speaking not letting me get the chance to start my turn. I could hit the buttons all I want but it won't work, it'll probably mark it wrong making Bunzo move down faster and with it starting over from the beginning.
My eyes finally fell shut as tears freely flowed out "Huggy...Poppy...I'm sorry..." I'm sorry I wasn't able to grab you before Mommy did. I'm sorry you're in this position unable to help me, only able to watch me play this challenge alone unable to do anything. Poppy, I'm sorry that I won't be able to rescue you a second time and get the code from Mommy.
I'm...
BANG!
"!?"
"My my..."
My eyes snapped open at the sudden loud bang from above. Slowly I move my head up seeing through my blurry vision to see that Bunzo had slammed his hands (that still held the cymbals) and feet to the wall to the tunnel.
"Bun...zo..."
I quickly wipe the tears from my eyes looking back up to clearly see that Bunzo is indeed stopping himself from lowering out of the tunnel. Like Huggy, Bunzo doesn't have eyelids like Poppy and Mommy do, but going by the grimace on his face I'm pretty sure he would have them squeeze shut as he tries to stay put. And for a good reason, as the cymbals in his hands are causing him to slowly slip down; if he didn't have those in the way then he could fully stop himself from moving further down.
Is... he trying to help me?
But wouldn't this count as cheating?
I quickly look over at Mommy seeing her head tilted in a curious manner but was making no movement or saying anything about it. Huggy himself is no longer yelling, much less trying to force a way up here.
"...Lily..."
"!"
I look back up to Bunzo hearing him call out my name despite the loud voice still calling out through the speakers.
"D-Don't...give...up!"
I slowly blink.
"...What...?" I whispered.
Bunzo eyes were looking down at me as he struggles to stay put. He let out a grunt when he slides a bit further down, almost coming out of the tunnel. He looks up, moving his head around as if he is searching for something.
"L-L-Look"
He nods his head in a certain direction.
I look over to see what he was pointing too, and it took me a second to spot it but when I did my breath falter for a moment when I caught sight of a button moving around the platform. It was different from the others; minus the fact it's moving but on it was a triangle with an exclamation point in the center.
Could that be...
I slowly rose back to my feet keeping an eye on the moving button.
It has to be...
"Hi-hit...that...button to s-stop...th-the game!"
An emergency shut down button!
Filled with newfound confidence I wipe away the rest of the tears, taking a shaky deep breath in as I grab hold of the trigger buttons for the Grab-Pack. I glance back up at Bunzo with a smile. "Thanks, Bunzo." I said which I receive a shaky smile in return before he let out a grunt when he could no longer hold himself up. I flinched a bit at the loud 'clang' noise when he hands smack together from the sudden drop.
"S-Sorry...Hu-Hurry..."
"R-Right."
I look around the platform trying to spot that button again - while hearing Bunzo going back to clapping his cymbals - I have only one shot at this. Bunzo is too far down, almost close to touching me with his cymbals, so that if I miss this one shot then the game is over. And like I pervious thought Bunzo won't hurt me if I lose this game, Mommy on the other hand...
"Worry about that later, Lily, right now I need to focus." I told myself, taking aim at one spot counting down the seconds in my head as the button got at a certain distance; I fired the Blue Hand watching it as it smacks into the button. When the hand hit it, it had tilted backwards along with all buttons going back to their places and the screen turning off.
There was only silence in the room. The only sounds to be heard were my panting as I still held the emergency shut down button. Above me I could hear Bunzo let out a deep sigh of relief as I slowly let go of the release button making the hand go back its slot.
It... work.
It shut down the game.
When my breathing got back under control, I let out a deep sigh of relief as I fell back down to the ground with my hand propping me up from behind. Looking up I can see Bunzo slump down in relief as his arms and legs dangle in front of him, his long ears flopped in front of his face almost fully covering his eyes. When we both made eye contact, we gave each other a small smile.
But that smile quickly went away when Mommy spoke.
"Oh, it broke. That's no fun." She spoke in a tone full of disappointment making the two of us to flinch at the tone. I don't know why Bunzo is flinching too. If anything, I'm more concerned about the fact that Bunzo help me in the end and Mommy could see that as cheating. I hope he doesn't get in trouble too because of that, I thought as I carefully got back to my feet looking over a Mommy.
"Mommy must give you an apology, Lily dear. It would seem the game has...glitch...over the years of being inactive." Even though she was apologizing her tone was still speaking in a disappointment as if there was another reason why she is upset. "Mommy must give Bunzo an applause for helping you out, Mommy will overlook this interference just this once. If they interfere again Mommy will be making do on her promise."
I shiver at that response but also relieve to find out she's letting this slide even though it was for one time only. I'm just happy that I can move on and Bunzo isn't in trouble. "With that said for doing such a splendid job before that little mishap, Mommy has decided to give you part of the code for the train."
I watch as her left arm went through something in the ceiling - probably a vent - followed by a yelp and something hitting the platform with a thump. Looking over I saw that Bunzo was disconnected from whatever was holding him up causing him to land on his feet in surprise.
"You okay, Bunzo?"
He looked around for a moment in confusion before looking over at me and nodding his head.
I frowned looking down at him. "I wonder what could have cause you..."
"Look up. Take it."
I was once again cut off by Mommy speaking. Looking up I can see her hand poking out of the tunnel where Bunzo was once hanging from. I could only guess it was Mommy who release him from his hold in order to hand me the paper that is in her grasp.
I move the right cannon to point at Mommy hand and fire it to grab the torn paper. Once it was out of her grasp the hand went back up through the tunnel and out of sight. Quickly looking back over to Mommy I saw her hand coming out from the ceiling putting it back on the window.
"Mommy was hopping the game could last a little longer." She sighs "It's okay though, Mommy knows other ways to play with you." With that she walks out of sight, probably went to where the next game will be held at.
I let out a sigh looking down at Bunzo who look up at me with a smile and this time the fang teeth he had are gone, probably hidden away in his mouth somewhere. I do wonder if those teeth act the same way as Huggy when he is in a defensive mode, coming out when they are ready to attack something. Well, whatever...it's really not that important anyway.
Bunzo tilted his head up at me opening his mouth getting ready to say something but was caught off when I let out a yelp of surprise as my vision went a bit blurry when I was suddenly pick up from behind.
"What the-!?" I look down to see two fuzzy blue arms warped around my torso. "Huggy!" I exclaimed tilting my head up to see him looking down at me, his face filled with relief upon seeing that I'm fine. He lifted me up a bit more, nuzzling his head on top of mine and heard a faint purring sound coming out of him. I huffed, feeling a smile forming on my face as I reach up grabbing his arms and giving them a gentle squeeze. "It's okay Huggy, I'm alright now. Both you and Bunzo made sure of that."
He grumbled squeezing me a bit more before slowly putting me back to the ground, he looked over at me one last time before shifting his eyes to Bunzo, who also looked up at Huggy.
I tilted my head in confusion watching the two of them having a stare down.
I don't really recall if these two had some history together or not but whatever is going on they seem to be having some kind of communication before coming to an agreement when they both nodded their heads.
"Well!" I began clapping my hands together making them to look back at me "I don't know what is going on between you too, but I'm for one am happy that we survived this round thanks to both of your help. And by the way Huggy, how did you get up here?" He huffed lifting up with left arm pointing over in that direction, blinking I look over to my right to see that the walkway had come back up. "Oh, I see." He must have quickly hopped back on when it was coming back up not long after Mommy had left.
"Lily..."
I looked back over to Bunzo as he walked up to me.
"What is it?"
He looked up at me tilting his head to the side before the sound of something clicking was heard. I step back in shock when the cymbals fell off his hands landing on the ground with a loud clanging sound. Wait...those can come off?! I blink watching him reach into his overalls and pulling out a flute.
"Wait...is that..."
'Hey Bunzo, check out what I got. We can now play together and form a band!'
'Really?!'
'Yep. I manage to talk to Doctor Amanda about giving me one, with the promise to not sneak out of my room as much. I don't know much about this instrument, but we'll figure it out.'
'Practice makes perfect, Lily! Bunzo here will help you out! I know how to play all sorts of instruments; I can teach you how to play the flute."
'Haah! Really? That's great to hear! Can't wait to learn it and make our own songs.'
'I'm looking forward to it myself. Now let's start practicing the basic notes.'
'Yes sir!'
'*Chuckles* Mommy is happy to see you two having fun. Just remember Bunzo that it's almost curfew time for the children, so Mommy will come back within an hour to pick Lily up.'
'Of course, /Aw but Mommy~!'
'Now Lily, you promised that Doctor you would try and behave. So at least give it a week or two before you try anything, least you want her to take your instrument away.'
'Fine...'
With the voices still going through my head I slowly reach out carefully taking the flute from his hands. Bunzo step back once I held the flute holding it up close as I examine the instrument. Even though it's been years I can still recall that it looks the same as it did before. The flute was colored in black with musical notes painted around it, though it seems that the paint has faded and chip a bit. Regardless it still seems to be in of good condition.
"Did...you hold onto this...all this time?" I slowly asking looking over at the end of the flute, my thumb rubbing over the inscription carved at the bottom. 'Property of Lily, member of the Bunzo & Lily band!' I couldn't help the small chuckle that escape my mouth upon seeing that.
'If we're forming a band then we need a name!'
'You're right Bunzo! But what should we call ourselves...?'
'Hmm, good question Lily. What indeed.'
'Oh! How about the Bunzo & Lily band!'
It such a weird name and yet it sounded cool to my younger self, Bunzo even gotten a good laugh out of it and play along.
"Yes...M-Mommy gave it to me no-not long after you left."
"She did?" I blink look back over to him.
He nods his head. "A month...after you l-left wo-word spread a-amongst the humans that they had to su-suppress Huggy's me-memory as he kept trying to-to escape the factory to lo-ok for you. Wh-When Mommy overheard th-that convers-s-s-sation...she begins to-to dig around for answers."
What.
I look at Huggy, who was looking up with his head tilted, eyes with a blank look to them as if he's trying to recall that memory. The workers here had to suppress his memory because he kept trying to break out. Now that I think about it, he was there when I was being taking away and he was trying to rescue me but failed when some guards came in to hold him down. It would make sense to do something about it to stop him from making a big scene and could explain why he didn't recognize me on sight unlike the others. The other didn't even know I was forced to leave this place; they could have thought that I was adopted like the other kids...if they were adopted and nothing else happen to them.
Now that I think about it...before I regain part of my memories, I didn't even recall I was being taking from somewhere. All I remember was waking up in a hospital...could it be possible they did the same to me as they did to Huggy? Memories can be a tricky thing but if you can expose someone to the place they have been to before it's possible to trigger something, just like mine are.
And Uncle had flipped if anything of Playtime Co. was brought up in the house to the point it became a taboo in the house. It's possible he was trying to prevent any memories resurfacing in me. And all it took was telling Huggy who I was and the day I was taken to trigger those memories to come back. It's possible that they suppress all memories about me because if it was just that incident Huggy would have wondered where I was, as I did visit him every now and then and begin to dig around himself; and that could have sparked a memory.
Unlike me all my memories of this place were wipe out there have been glimpses here and there growing up but not enough to fully recall and I was told to report to Uncle every time I was reminded of something from the past. My guess was he was probably keeping an eye to see if he needed to resuppress the memories again or not.
God...I have so many questions to ask him. I bet anything he was trying to prevent me from going back as well, but why is the big question.
"So, Mommy began looking around and found the truth to what happen."
"That's right." Bunzo nods and it could be just me...but I believe his voice is slowly going back to normal the more he talks. Which makes me wonder when was the last time he spoke. "We originally thought that yo-you could have been adopted. B-But that made no se-sense as you've already be-been adopted by Ludwig th-the day you were first br-brought he-re."
"How do you know about that?" Did he just straight up ask a worker or found any papers regarding me of when I came here. And if Ludwig had actually adopted me then how did I end up in my uncle's care? I don't remember him being mentioned when I left Playtime, just that I needed to leave.
"The Prototype told me."
"The Pro…totype?"
Him again? His name sure is being mentioned a lot here. I'm starting to wonder if he is more important then I originally thought.
Bunzo nodded his head. "He said you came in not long after Poppy and Huggy came to be."
"Wha-!?"
What does that even mean? I came in when Poppy and Huggy came to be. Is he talking about the living toys? Because the toy version of Poppy was released in 1960 and Huggy Wuggy was released in 1984 a year before I was born. Then what year did the living versions of them came to be? A little after I was born? Wait…when was I place in Playtime?
The sound of static filled my ears as my vision begin to blur.
Red bubbles floating around.
Fake grass and tress surrounding a two story house.
A figure similar to Huggy gently pushing a swing as a child laughs, holding onto the rope and her other hand holding onto a Poppy doll.
'Higher, Huggy!'
"Lily!"
"!" I blink back in surprise snapping out of the sudden vision I had. Looking up to see the concern looks of their faces. I heaved out a breath rubbing my head. "Sorry, just a memory or something flashed in my mind."
"Your memory?" Bunzo asked in confusion.
"…" I stared at him in confusion before suddenly remembering that Bunzo doesn't know about my memory issue. "Oh, right…"
I began to do a quick explanation of everything that has happened to me and what lead me to come back here after all these years. Bunzo nods his head before mentioning.
"S-so, that's what Mommy me-meant by that."
"Huh?" I hummed confused. I…don't recall telling Mommy about that? So how did she know I don't have any memories of my time here? Was it something she found out in her search for me?
Suddenly, Huggy started making a noise as Bunzo look over to him before nodding his head.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"N-n-nothing." Bunzo said "Huggy s-s-suggested that we should probably put a-a hold to this conversation till we get you out of here."
"…" That's the second time Huggy has tried to stop me from asking more questions. Just what is he trying to hide here? It's not like I won't find out sooner or later, so what's the big deal? However, I want to get one more question answer before we leave. "Just one more thing if that's alright?"
Bunzo tilted his head looking over to Huggy as if he was looking for permission to speak. When he nods his head, Bunzo looks back over to me. "What's the question?"
"…It's about, Mommy." I slowly began to speak. "Could…you finish telling me what happen after she found out the truth?"
Bunzo tilted his head to the side. It looks like he was hesitant about finishing his story, but after a moment he let out a sigh and continue where he left off.
"When Mommy learn the truth, she be-became outrage an-an-and kill some workers in the pr-progress..." I remember Poppy mentioning something about that. "She enlisted the help from the ot-other toys to find the truth. Mommy was in your room when she...found the flute along with som-someone else she was looking for."
"Right. I think I recall it was on my dresser before I left."
"She gave it to me not lo-long after th-that! I held onto it si-since then!" He had a big smile on his face as he lightly hops in place as if he was recalling the memory of receiving the item. "It's such a shame to-to what happen to that human, when Mommy finally got a hold of her...oh well...she had it coming anyway..."
A hard shiver went down my spine at the sudden change in his voice. "...Who is this person you're talking about and what did Mommy do to her?"
"The same person who gave you that recorder!"
The person who gave me the recorder…
Wait…
Wasn't that…
"...Amanda." I whisper the name out loud as I recall of a time that I had attended a funeral many years ago. At the time I didn't really know who she was besides being a co-worker to Uncle, and I only saw her a hand full of times at the house, before...she...
"Right...that's he-her name! We-Well in order to get the full information...Mommy interrogated her."
His voice quickly changes into a childish tone filled with malice as the sharp fang teeth came out of his come mouth. And the next words that came out almost made me vomit.
"She wasn't cooperating...so Mommy slowly crushed her unborn ba-baby in... order for her to talk."
"..."
Upon asking Uncle why we were here and what had happened to her baby, I was told she had a miscarriage. But the truth was...
It wasn't a miscarriage.
Because.
Mommy killed the baby in order to get information about my whereabouts.
I...
Think I'm going to be sick...
