In the darkest depths of his conscious mind, Ash heard several distant voices that felt strangely familiar.
"Ash!" The first voice sounded like a little boy.
"Ash!" Another voice, this time of a young girl.
"Ash!" An older male voice called out.
And finally, a squeaky voice cried out in the darkness. "Pika!"
Android Z's eyes widened as he gasped and woke up, sitting straight up from Android 18's lap. He was beneath a tree, where she had been watching over him since he defeated Vegeta and collapsed afterwards.
"Well, good morning," 17 said sarcastically, arms crossed as he stood nearby. He chuckled, drawing Z's eyes towards him. "And here we thought you would never wake up."
Z blinked, frowning slightly as his memory felt clouded and fragmented. "You've been out for a few days," 18 explained softly.
"I see..." Z mumbled, his thoughts still swirling with the distant echoes of those voices.
He noticed Android 16 staring up at a bird's nest in the tree branches with a small smile. The sight stirred something within Z, a faint glimmer of a life he couldn't fully recall.
"Those voices," Z murmured to himself, trying to grasp the fleeting memories. "Who are they?"
17 shrugged nonchalantly. "You're awake now, and we have bigger things to worry about than little voices during your temporary shutdown, Z."
Z nodded slowly, though the fragments of his past continued to nag at him. "I guess you're right," he said, though his tone lacked conviction.
Android 18 stood up and brushed off her clothes. "You really did a number on Vegeta," she remarked with a smirk. "Guess the old man wasn't lying about your strength."
Z looked around, noting the absence of the Z-Warriors. "Where are they?"
"Retreated to lick their wounds, I imagine," 17 replied. "We had a bit of fun while you were out, but nothing too serious."
Z stood up, stretching and testing his limbs. He felt stronger, but also more conflicted. The voices in his mind still echoed, faint but persistent.
"We should keep moving," 16 said, finally tearing his gaze away from the birds. "Goku is still out there."
Z nodded, though his mind was still preoccupied with the mysterious voices. "Yes, we need to find Goku."
As they prepared to move on, Z cast one last glance at the tree and the bird's nest, the fragments of his past life tugging at his consciousness.
Meanwhile, in a deep forest, Future Trunks, Gohan, and Bulma were diligently investigating the area after receiving a tip about the presence of another time machine. The dense foliage made the search challenging, but their determination didn't waver. After hours of combing through the thick underbrush, they finally stumbled upon what they were looking for. Hidden beneath a thick layer of moss and vines was a broken-down version of Trunks' time machine. The sight stopped Trunks in his tracks. He couldn't believe his eyes.
"How is this possible?" Trunks muttered, his mind racing with possibilities. He examined the machine closely, noting its severe state of disrepair. The machine looked as though it had been there for a very long time.
As Trunks pondered the implications, Gohan noticed something unusual. Inside the time machine was a strange, empty shell. He carefully reached in and pulled it out, holding it up for the others to see.
"What is this?" Gohan asked, his voice tinged with curiosity and concern.
Bulma stepped closer, scrutinizing the shell with her keen scientist's eye. "It looks like some kind of insect or larva casing," she speculated. "But it's much larger than anything I've seen before."
Trunks' expression darkened as he examined the shell. "This can't be good," he said quietly. "Something came through time in this machine, and whatever it is, it must have been inside this shell."
Gohan looked around the forest, the dense trees and undergrowth suddenly seeming more foreboding. "Do you think it's still out here somewhere?"
Trunks shook his head, uncertainty etched across his face. "I don't know, but we need to find out. If this thing is dangerous, we can't let it roam free."
Bulma nodded in agreement. "I'll take some samples from the machine and the shell. Maybe I can figure out where—or when—this thing came from."
As Bulma started gathering data, Trunks and Gohan stood watch, their senses on high alert. The discovery of the time machine and the strange shell had introduced a new layer of mystery to their already complicated situation. The presence of another traveler from the future—or perhaps the past—meant that their battle against the androids was far from over.
"We need to be prepared for anything," Trunks said, his resolve hardening. "Whatever came through that machine, we'll find it and stop it before it can do any harm."
Gohan nodded. "Let's hope we find it before it finds us."
Meanwhile, the androids soared through the snowy mountainside, searching for 17's ideal ride. Leading the charge, 17 scanned the terrain below, cautiously looking for any sort of vehicle. Flying behind him was 18, frowning with her arms crossed, and Z hovering close by her side. Bringing up the rear, 16 seemed uninterested in 17's plan, focused solely on reaching Goku's location. Over an hour had passed without finding a suitable car, and 18's patience was wearing thin.
"Come on, 17! Have you seen a car yet or what? It's freezing up here!" she snapped.
Without looking back, 17 groaned at his twin's complaints. "You know, 18, instead of whining, how about you help me look?" 18 groaned but didn't reply. Soon after, 17 spotted a pink van with a "Lucky Foods" logo on the back. "Finally, a car, though pink isn't my color," he muttered.
"Who's whining now?" 18 mocked with a smirk.
"Whatever," 17 growled under his breath as he descended towards the van, the others following his lead. Upon landing, the androids approached the van, with 17 inspecting it to ensure it was decent. "I guess this will do," 17 said with a sigh.
"Hey!" A voice called out. The androids turned to see one of the van's employees, a stout man, glaring at them. "What do you hooligans think you're doing? That van belongs to us. Back away or we'll call the cops."
17 chuckled at the man's empty threats. "Listen here. This van belongs to us now." He casually glanced at 16, who understood the signal with a brief nod. 16 effortlessly lifted the van, dumping all the boxes from the back, leaving the two employees in shock. He then set the van back down.
16 and Z entered the back and took their seats, while 18 occupied the passenger side and 17 took the driver's seat. As the engine roared to life, 17 smiled. "Alright. Next stop, Goku's house."
"Not so fast, 17. First, a clothing store," 18 interjected.
17 raised an eyebrow, half-amused. "What for?"
18 glanced over her seat to share a soft exchange with Z before stating, "We can't have our friend here walking around in rags."
17 groaned. "18, really? Can't it wait?"
18 frowned, glaring at her brother with her arms crossed. "Clothes first. Goku later, or else I'm driving," she warned.
"Fine, fine, sheesh, women," 17 muttered.
18 smiled and glanced back at Z. "We'll make sure you look more suitable, Z."
Z blinked for a moment before sighing. 18 was indeed one demanding female.
As the van sped along, the two employees frantically called the authorities, reporting their vehicle stolen by four hooligans. Meanwhile, the androids were enjoying their quiet, albeit awkward, ride until 18 grew bored.
"I'm bored," she whined.
"How about I turn on the radio? There has to be something good on. Maybe they're talking about us?" 17 suggested with a smirk, earning an eye roll from 18.
"Yeah, like, breaking news: four androids stole a pink van. Please help!" she retorted sarcastically. "Oh please."
17 ignored his twin as he turned on the radio. An emergency broadcast was playing, announcing that the military was heading towards Gingertown, which drew the androids' attention. "Wait a minute... Gingertown?" 17 muttered. "We weren't too far from that city. I wonder what's going on. Let's hope whoever it is isn't stealing our thunder," he remarked sarcastically, earning a shrug from 18.
"Like what, another android that the old man hid?" 18 said, half-joking.
17 shrugged but then noticed an approaching police hovercar in the rearview mirror. "Oh great, the cops."
"Hahaha! You're getting a ticket, 17!" 18 mocked, earning another eye roll from her brother.
"Not if I can help it. Hang on, guys!" 17 hit the gas, causing the van to jolt forward and pick up speed. The police hovercar increased its speed as well, easily keeping up with the van.
Inside the van, Z and 16 remained calm, though Z's eyes flickered with mild interest. "Do you think they'll catch us?" he asked.
17 laughed. "Not a chance. These cops are no match for us."
18 glanced back at the police hovercar. "Want me to take care of them?"
"Nah, I've got this," 17 replied confidently, swerving the van through the winding mountain roads.
Despite 17's attempts to evade, the police hovercar stayed right on their tail. The androids exchanged glances, realizing this chase might not be as simple as they thought.
"Alright, fine," 17 grumbled. "You can have your fun, 18."
With a smirk, 18 opened the passenger door and leaned out slightly, aiming a well-placed energy blast at the police hovercar's engine. The blast hit its mark, causing the hovercar to sputter and slow down before coming to a complete stop.
"Nice shot," Z commented, impressed.
18 smirked as she closed the door and settled back into her seat. "Told you I'd take care of it."
17 rolled his eyes and replied with a loud growl, "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
"Now, to the clothing store, if you please," 18 said with a smug smirk.
"Fine, fine, you don't have to tell me twice. Jeez, women..." her brother grumbled as he directed the van towards the nearest clothing store.
Sorry for the long delay but it was a fun chapter, right? :p
