Chapter 2 - Comeback, back to me

'I don't know what I'm feelin', but I believe
I was thinkin' 'bout makin' a comeback
Back to me'

- Have I not killed you before? - Sam spoke into the wind, to the invisible force.

It laughed.

- You're so tiring. I don't have time to play. What do you want?

- What I have always wanted.

The voice materialized behind her, although there was no body to be seen. Suddenly, the whirlwind became stronger and a dark portal opened, spiting dark winged demons.

- Shit.

Sam tried to stop them, pushing them back inside the portal, but some could get away. As she was holding the portal closed and the ferocious demons in the air so they don't fly away. His face materialized in front of her.

- You asshole. Why don't you just leave me alone?

- You think you can't overpower me, little girl? You can take everything from me, break me in pieces, take all my powers, but I'll always come back stronger.

- Little girl? Not your goddess anymore? You hurt me.

- What you took from me. I take back.

While he talked, two big black claws made of pure energy left him and attacked her. One attached hot her chest, clawing into her. The other on her belly, although the energy wasn't really tearing her apart, it felt that way and Samantha screamed. She couldn't hold it anymore. Her powers weakened by the second as he sucked it out as with a straw.

- That's enough. - a powerful voice sounded inside her brain and she noticed that it was her own.

Suddenly, there was a point sound, as if something being unclogged. Sam closed her eyes and the wind stopped. She reached out inside herself and pushed out the thing she kept securely deep inside.

When her eyes opened, they were completely black. The black energy inside her filled up her body, leaking through her pores. And suddenly, everything she was struggling with became easy. Like holding back hundreds of daemons. The energy being pulled out of her, started reversing and pulling back with double the force.

The man screamed now, not her. And a hot, tick liquid ran down her nose. She wasn't scared of her powers anymore. She was utterly in control of the black voice inside her mind. Because it was part of her. It was herself.

Suddenly, everything disappeared. The dark energy flowing in the air was swallowed by her as she opted her mouth. The voices dissipated in the cold night air. A couple of demons escaped her grasp and tried to fly away. As she concentrated to turn them into dust. A couple of gunshots took them down.

Sam turned around, her eyes completely dark. And started at the commotion behind her which she didn't notice before. She had heard she sirens, but she thought it was the police. One of the demons, that fell to the ground, was being blown to pieces by the heavy hand of a huge red guy. The other men around dressed in black suits were looking at her as if she was a ghost. She recognized some one them. But behind them, a blue man stared at her intently. His expression unreadable. As their eyes linked, hers cleared back to their normal color.

- What the fuck, S? - Blake came out running from the diner. - You've scared all the clients away with that shit.

Sam rolled her eyes and ignored him. That's so Blake. To ignore everything around, even flying demons, but his problems.

John Meyers took a step closer to her, lowering his weapon and putting in his coldre. He signaled the other agents to do the same.

- We thought you were dead. - he said in a softly, low voice. - We've been all these years thinking you were dead.

- Well, she is not as you can see. - Blake said getting close, as if the situation was casual. - Contrary of how I'll be tomorrow when my boss find out all the clients left without paying.

- Shut up! - both Sam and Emma screamed.

- Sam? Is really you? - Hellboy stepped closer to her and Emma gasped.

She didn't say anything.
