"I thought my heart had learned its lesson

It feels so good when you start out

My head is screaming "Get a grip girl"

Unless you're dying to cry your heart out"

Sam woke up feeling rested and relaxed after a long time. Her bed was fluffy and warm, and a soft light illuminating the room.

In the back of her mind, she felt like she should be worried about something, but she couldn't remember exactly what it was.

- I can't believe I went even to Antártica and you were simply in Harvard. - Abe said while still holding her.

- Well, - she answered embarrassed - I've changed my name.

- Yes, I've noticed.

She then remembered his arms around her and how good had it felt. She remembered falling sleep in his arms and he carrying her to bed.

They ate breakfast together and soon the tow guy ring the bell.

- So, it's all good. - she had said, after her car was good to go. - He charged the battery and it should be enough to get to campus. Thanks for having me.

She turned to leave, but Abe stopped her by the hand.

- Would you come back?

- I... I don't know...

- Please. We can just spend time together. I... really miss you. I know you have a boyfriend. We can just be friends like before.

Sam tried to hold back tears, but his hands were getting to her. She wanted nothing else than be surrounded by his embrace.

- Abraham that's not it. It's just that. I took me a long time to get over... all of it. And know I'm well past it. And, I don't know if I can come back to it.

Abe looked at her understanding but heart broken.

- Besides, I'm so busy at the university, the term is ending.

- Just... - he shook a little. - promise you won't disappear on me again.

She swallowed hard.

- I won't. You know where to find me. You have my phone number.

He nodded and let her go. She didn't look back, afraid she would run back to him.

Later that day, her friends came over and after getting a good hour of scolding for leaving her in Connecticut, they talk about all of it.

- Don't be stupid, S! You never got over him and it seems that he never got over you as well. - Blake said.

Sam thought about it. The problem was that they aren't even back together and her heart was already missing him. If she could have it her way, she would drive all the way back and spend the whole night making love to him.

- I still don't understand why are you holding back. - Emma uttered.

- I don't want to jump back into all that mess. That only leads to heartache.

- Don't be so dramatic. Just live, Sam. Life is too short to spend with your heart locked in your chest. The greatest love stories of all times involved some heartache.

- Wow. I didn't know you were such a romantic, Emma!

- I'm not. I just think we should never waste the chance to spend time with those we love.

- I guess, you're right. It's just, when I look back, the pain is what I remember most. And the good times just make me feel like a fool. In love.

- Well, if you don't want be a fool, you're not ready to fall in love.

- Gosh. You're guys are so poetic today. It's creeping me. - Sam stated.

- Well. Maybe I'm falling in love myself. - Blake added.

They spent a couple of hours catching up. And when Sam went to bed she felt a couple of pounds lighter.

When she picked up her phone, she had left it charging, she saw a message that made her heart pound.

"Watching you leave me today was the hardest thing"

She held her phone to her chest a moment before answering.

"Should I come back?"

"Yes, right now. I miss you terribly, dear."

"Well, I would but I have my pjs on already."

"Would you come, though?"

"If you invite me."

"Do I even need to?"

"Of course! It is your house."

"Ok. Would you come spend a day with me?"

"Can't. Busy right now."

He took a couple of seconds to answer. She was typing her apology, saying she was just kidding when her phone vibrated.

"When can you come?"

"Spring break? Things are really busy here now. Lots of papers to finish."

"hahaha I forgot you're a scholar now. Spring break would be perfect."

"Ok, then. I'm sleepy. Good night."

"Good night, love"

And that what she should be worried about.
