Chapter 1: A New Beginning - Meal Start

*Nemo*

In the universe of Toriko, Earth is not just a planet; it is a vibrant and dynamic world teeming with life that has evolved in extraordinary ways. The narrative of this Earth diverges significantly from our own, primarily due to the introduction of Gourmet Cells—unique biological entities that fundamentally alter the ecosystem, leading to the emergence of a "Super Earth" the size of Jupiter. This transformation is marked by an explosion of food-based flora and fauna, creating a rich tapestry of life centered around culinary delights.

The concept of Gourmet Cells is central to understanding the evolution of Toriko's Earth. These cells are specialized biological units that enhance the physical capabilities and sensory perceptions of living organisms. Their arrival on Earth can be traced back to ancient times when they were introduced through various means—possibly through meteorite impacts or other cosmic phenomena.

Once these Gourmet Cells integrated into the existing biological framework, they began to influence the genetic makeup of both plants and animals. This led to a rapid evolution where species adapted to become more flavorful, nutritious, and often larger than their predecessors. For instance, fruits became more succulent and vibrant in color, while animals developed unique characteristics that made them not only edible but also highly sought after for their taste and texture.

Plants evolved into various forms that were not only visually stunning but also packed with flavors and nutrients. Examples include trees that bear multiple types of fruit simultaneously or flowers that produce honey-like nectar.

Animals adapted in ways that made them integral to the culinary landscape. Creatures like the "Gourmet Beast" emerged—massive beasts with exquisite meat quality or unique abilities tied to their flavor profiles (e.g., fish that can swim in both water and air).

As humans began to interact with this new world, they developed a culture deeply rooted in gastronomy. The pursuit of rare ingredients became an adventure akin to hunting or exploration, leading to the rise of "Gourmet Hunters" who seek out these extraordinary foods.

Year 484 of the Gourmet Age

Centuries ago, in a world where Quirks defined the extraordinary, Danjuro Tobita was known as the Gentle Criminal—a name that echoed through the streets of Musutafu. Once a hopeful aspiring hero, circumstances twisted his fate, driving him into the shadows of villainy. His heart yearned for recognition and love, but instead, he found himself entangled in a web of mischief and chaos alongside his beloved Minami.

It was during one fateful night that destiny intervened. In an unexpected encounter with Doctor Nobunara Oda—a brilliant mind from I-Island—and his enigmatic companion Nemo Garaki, known as the Black Dragon Hero: Abyss, Danjuro's life took a dramatic turn. They offered him a chance at redemption; an opportunity to rise from the ashes of his past and become a true hero. With Minami by his side, they embraced this new path, transforming their lives forever.

As Oda and Garaki worked tirelessly to save the world from impending doom, Danjuro and Minami flourished in their newfound roles. They became symbols of hope and resilience, gathering allies along the way—scientist Melissa Shield, reformed villain Himiko Toga, and former hero Kaina Tsutsumi joined their ranks. Together they forged a family filled with love and laughter amidst their heroic endeavors. Even transcending dimensions and saving another world from destruction.

Decades passed in the world of magic and their culinary skills became as vital as combat prowess. The aroma of exquisite dishes wafted through their home as they celebrated victories both big and small. But adventure called once more when an enticing Quest emerged—an invitation to explore another Earth brimming with culinary delights that promised to tantalize their senses.

With hearts full of excitement and dreams anew, Danjuro and Minami gathered their items for what would be yet another chapter in their extraordinary journey—a quest not just for food but for experiences that would bind them closer together than ever before.

"Herb Boar! Run!"

Herb Boar

Type: Mammal

Capture Level: 5

Diet: Herbivore (opportunistic)

Habitat: Herbal Springs Forest

An Herb Boar is unique fusion of wild boar and aromatic herbs, boasts a robust and muscular physique reminiscent of a wild boar. Its body is covered in coarse, dark brown fur interspersed with vibrant green patches that resemble the leaves of fennel, oregano, sage, rosemary, and thyme. The beast has a broad head with pronounced tusks that glisten like polished ivory. Its eyes are large and expressive, reflecting an intelligent gleam, surrounded by a crown of delicate herb-like fronds that sway gently as it moves. The ears are pointed and tufted with soft green foliage. The body is stocky and powerful, built for endurance and strength. The legs are thick and sturdy, ending in wide hooves that leave deep impressions in the ground.

Most important to those that hunt it is its marbled meat tastes of the finest pork mixed with the perfect number of herbs for a transcendent taste.

Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina don't care about the zoological facts of the beasts. Instead, they care about protecting the innocent people from the rampaging animals that have broken from their shipment containers.

Danjuro's quirk [Elasticity] allows the user to bestow the property of elasticity to anything he touches. By making objects elastic, Danjuro can manipulate them to his advantage. He uses this quirk to bounce off the walls and ground to achieve amazing speed and get people out of the way.

Minami's original quirk is [Love], allowing her to enhance the abilities of the one she loves by confessing her feelings to that person. Due to enhancements, her power is always semi-active helping her husband, Danjuro. She was once a dwarf, who lacked the physical ability to save people herself, but Doctor Oda solved that problem. After capturing a terrorist named Kiruka Hasaki, she was not only given the hair manipulation quirk [Slice], but also the same physical characteristics of Kiruka. It improved her and Danjuro's intimate relationship.

Kaina Tsutsumi, once known as Lady Nagant, has a quirk that turns her into a living sniper rifle. It's an extremely lethal power that the Hero Public Safety Commission exploited, having her murder anyone that didn't follow the HPSC's rules from criminals plotting terrorist attacks to corrupt heroes. A career that ended when she couldn't stand the killing anymore. While Kaina's original Quirk remains as lethal as ever, she has gained many other skills in the world of Earth Land, including wind magic which she uses to rescue people from the rampage of the boars.

Finally, Kaina fires a bullet that curves around obstacles and hits a chain, causing a shipping container to land between the boars and a crowd of people. The charging boars turn away from the crowd as falling object not only scares them, but the metallic sound hurt their sensitive ears.

An attack from Minami with her glowing scarlet hair causes the boars to turn into an alley with a dead end. The glowing crimson hair needles can pierce metal with ease at full power, but she only uses enough force to sting the boars through their thick skin and thick fur.

Danjuro then uses a magical skill that he acquired from a [Universal Gift] and that he mastered in the magical fantasy world of Earth Land. He channels his magic into his hands, while bouncing off the "elastic" walls of the alley. As he touches each of the 300-kilogram (660 pound) boars, they collapse to the ground unconscious. He doesn't shout out the name of the attack, because after a century of experience it's no longer needed.

Danjuro then lands next to Kaina and Minami on a roof. They are not alone, as there is an IGO Agent with a clipboard.

The male low-level IGO agent stands at an average height of about 5'8", with a slightly stocky build that suggests he spends long hours sitting at a desk rather than engaging in physical activity. His posture is often slouched from long hours of paperwork, giving him a somewhat unassuming presence.

He has a round face with soft features, including full cheeks and a small chin. His skin is fair, showing signs of fatigue with dark circles under his eyes from late nights spent organizing shipments and managing documents. He sports short, messy brown hair that appears unkempt, often sticking out in various directions as if he has run his hands through it in frustration.

His attire consists of a simple white button-up shirt that is slightly wrinkled, paired with dark gray trousers that have seen better days. He wears a navy-blue vest over his shirt, which is practical for carrying pens and notepads but lacks any flair or style. Comfortable black shoes complete his outfit, suitable for the long hours spent on his feet while moving between offices and storage areas.

Other than his clipboard, he carries a worn leather satchel filled with important documents and tools necessary for his job. A pair of reading glasses often hangs around his neck on a cord, ready to be used when reviewing fine print or detailed reports.

"Kakushin Shokudo – IGO Food Safety Inspector"

The full name can be interpreted as "Innovative Dining Hall" or "Reform Dining Hall.", so I'm guessing his parents wanted him to be someone a little more impressive or at least a job that involves creativity instead of following a phonebook size book of rules.

"Thank you for helping us resolve that incident. Apparently one of the inexperienced handlers fed the boars some herbs not native to the Herb Forest and it had an adverse reaction. The senior handlers and Hunters will soon arrive to return the boars to containment." say Kakushin Shokudo – IGO Food Safety Inspector, sounding very official and nonsense. "May I see your IGO identification for the records."

"We don't possess one yet. We are very new to this land." says Danjuro, careful not to mention he, his wife, and friend are from another world, "Do you know where we can acquire certification?"

Kakushin raises one eyebrow like her Leonard Nimoy in his most famous role, then pulls out papers and a card from his satchel and gives into to Danjuro.

"Why does it take so long for senior Gourmet Hunters to get their protege certified?" says Kakushin with some frustration, "Even President Ichiryu whose been with IGO since its founding took an absurd time to register his sons!"

After a few minutes, Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina are allowed to leave and get distance between them and the bureaucrat.

"What is this all about?" asks Minami, looking at the paperwork.

"Minami, let me tell you why the International Gourmet Organization, or IGO, is so crucial. You see, we live in what we call the Gourmet Age—a time that blossomed about 500 years ago after the catastrophic Gourmet War. That war was a dark chapter in our history, lasting a century and leaving devastation in its wake as people fought fiercely over scarce food resources. The loss of life and destruction created an urgent need for peace and stability.

It was during this tumultuous period that Acacia, revered as the 'Gourmet God,' emerged as a beacon of hope. His vision and influence were instrumental in bringing about this new era. With peace established, he helped form organizations like the IGO to ensure that gourmet ingredients are managed and promoted across nations. Ichiryu, the first adopted son and disciple of Acacia, became the president of IGO, guiding this world toward a future where food is not just sustenance but a source of culture and prosperity. This organization plays a vital role in maintaining harmony and fostering culinary innovation worldwide."

"You know a lot about this place, love."

"I had to learn. The second Oda learned I was going to this world, he told me everything he knew about Toriko."

"Toriko?"

"Do you remember how Kakushin mentioned President Ichiryu's adopted sons – the Four Heavenly Kings? The four of them are Toriko, Coco, Sunny and Zebra. The manga and anime mostly Toriko and his friendship with a chef named Kamasu."

"What powers do they have?" asks Minami. Despite it being centuries, she was still born on a world obsessed with superpowers called Quirks. As children in school, the first thing asked to any newcomer is "What's your Quirk?" and your answer usually determines your social standing in the class. Even with Doctor Oda turning the system on its head before leaving and milking everyone for their cash, she still has the habit.

"Toriko manipulates gourmet energy into attacked based around tools like knives, forks, and nails, while having an amazing sense of smell. Coco is a poison manipulator who can even create solidified armor and weapons from poison, as well as see into the non-visible spectra for fortunetelling and 'Death Prediction'. Zebra can manipulate sound waves using his voice, while also being able to filter out sound from miles and miles away and use echolocation. Sunny manipulates his hair like you do, Minami, while also possessing a sense of touch so-refined he can tell everything there is to know about a person with one of his 'feelers'."

"I remember Sunny! He was that guy obsessed with his appearance on the Chat!" says Minami, suddenly remembering the rainbow haired pretty boy.

One of the many skills acquired through the [Universal Gifts] of The Gamer System was [Universal Chat] - Multiversal Chat group that allows the user to communicate with a multiversal group of people that belong to a certain archetype – the first archetype unlocked being [Hair Manipulation]. The reason she didn't remember him is because it's been decades since she talked to that man.

"This world's version of Sunny is 8 years old and the events of the show don't happen for another sixteen years." says Danjuro noting the current date on the paperwork.

"So, what do we do now?"

"Now we study up and take the certification tests."

"Won't being from another world cause problems?"

"I wouldn't be so sure. Brunch is a 'Tengu' born somewhere in the Gourmet World and that place is practically an extraterrestrial world despite it being attached what's left of Earth like a giant tumor."

The International Gourmet Organization (IGO)

The International Gourmet Organization, commonly referred to as the IGO, is a pivotal institution within the universe of Toriko. Established during the Gourmet Age, the IGO serves multiple critical functions that are essential for maintaining order and safety in a world where food is not only a source of sustenance but also a powerful and often dangerous commodity.

Purpose and Functions of the IGO

Maintaining Order in the Gourmet Age: The IGO plays a crucial role in regulating various aspects of gourmet life. This includes overseeing food production, distribution, and consumption to ensure that these activities do not lead to chaos or exploitation. Given that many ingredients can be perilous—ranging from dangerous beasts to toxic plants—the organization's oversight helps mitigate risks associated with gourmet hunting and gathering.

Defending Civilians: One of the primary responsibilities of the IGO is to protect civilians from threats posed by dangerous animals and gourmet criminals. In a world where some creatures possess extraordinary abilities or where individuals may misuse gourmet powers for nefarious purposes, the IGO acts as a shield for ordinary people. This protective function is vital in ensuring public safety and fostering trust in gourmet practices.

Administration of the Eight Gourmet Laws: The IGO enforces the Eight Gourmet Laws, which are fundamental regulations governing various aspects of gourmet activities. These laws cover everything from ethical hunting practices to guidelines on how to handle rare ingredients responsibly. By enforcing these laws, the IGO aims to promote sustainable practices within the culinary community while preventing abuse or over-exploitation of resources.

Food-Related Legislation: Beyond just the Eight Gourmet Laws, the IGO is responsible for creating and enforcing additional food-related laws that address emerging issues within the culinary landscape. This includes regulations on food safety, quality control standards for ingredients, and protocols for dealing with gourmet criminals who may threaten both people and ecosystems.

International Cooperation: As an international body, the IGO fosters cooperation among different nations regarding culinary practices and safety measures. It facilitates communication between countries about best practices in gourmet hunting and cooking techniques while also sharing information about potential threats posed by certain ingredients or creatures.

Research and Development: The organization also invests in research related to new ingredients, cooking methods, and health impacts associated with various foods. By promoting scientific inquiry into gastronomy, the IGO seeks to enhance culinary knowledge while ensuring that innovations do not compromise safety or ethical standards.

Training and Certification Programs: To uphold high standards within the culinary community, the IGO offers training programs for chefs, hunters, and other professionals involved in food preparation and distribution. These programs ensure that individuals are well-versed in both culinary skills and safety protocols necessary for navigating challenges inherent in their professions.

Crisis Management: In instances where there are significant threats—such as outbreaks of dangerous creatures or incidents involving rogue chefs—the IGO coordinates responses to manage these crises effectively. This includes mobilizing resources quickly to address emergencies while minimizing harm to civilians.

Public Awareness Campaigns: The organization engages in public education initiatives aimed at raising awareness about safe eating practices, responsible ingredient sourcing, and understanding gourmet ethics among consumers.

The International Gourmet Organization (IGO) certification process is designed to regulate and certify chefs and hunters in the Gourmet Age. However, this system has notable flaws that impact its effectiveness.

The background checks conducted during the application process are minimal. The primary criterion for applicants is that they must not have a criminal record or connections to known criminals. This leniency allows a wide range of individuals to apply, including those who may lack substantial culinary or hunting experience.

One significant shortcoming of the IGO certification process is the lack of thorough evaluation regarding an applicant's past experiences or their associations with recognized chefs and hunters. Only those who are certified IGO Hunters and Cooks at higher levels are scrutinized more closely, which means that many applicants can enter the system without proven expertise.

As the demands of the Gourmet Age rise, there is an urgent need for individuals capable of gathering rare ingredients and preparing gourmet meals. This pressure leads to a situation where even those with lower ratings—1- to 3-star chefs—are accepted into the IGO. Consequently, while there are exceptional talents within the organization, a significant portion consists of less experienced individuals who may not meet high culinary standards.

In the context of Danjuro and Minami's world, Japan's educational system is characterized by its strong emphasis on academic achievement. This focus has led to high performance in international assessments; however, it has also drawn criticism for being overly rigid. The written tests administered by the IGO (International Gourmet Organization) reflect this trend, often prioritizing rote memorization over creative thinking.

What is the primary role of a Gourmet Hunter?

What was the name of Acacia's followers?

What is the name of the Current IGO President?

Name one of the most dangerous creatures a Gourmet Hunter might encounter.

Name Five Mammal Beasts with a Capture Level of 15.

Name a Dragon Beast above Capture Level 30 and its Habitat.

Name Five Restricted Ingredients and the reasons.

What should a Hunter do if they encounter a Gourmet World Beast?

After two hours and a hundred questions later, Danjuro and Minami leave the testing area looking very confident. While Danjuro and Minami emerge from the testing area with confidence, a stark contrast can be seen in other candidates who appear overwhelmed by the pressure of the exam.

Brutus "The Boulder" McGraw. Standing at an imposing 7 feet tall with muscles that ripple like boulders, Brutus is known for his brute strength and fearsome reputation in the world of food and fights. His massive hands trembled as he clutched his pencil, and beads of sweat dripped down his forehead. His face contorted in a mix of confusion and frustration as he stared blankly at a question about gourmet ingredients that seems to have no end. You can almost hear him internally shouting, "I CAN'T TAKE THIS SHIT ANYMORE! IT'S TOO MUCH! AHHHHH!"

Professor Elara Voss. A renowned intellectual in the field of gourmet biology, Professor Voss has an air of sophistication with her sleek glasses and meticulously styled hair. She's often seen lecturing on rare ingredients and their properties. She wanted to become a Gourmet Hunter so she could explore more dangerous areas to continue her research. Despite her academic prowess, she sat hunched over her desk, frantically flipping through pages of notes while muttering to herself about chemical compositions. Her usually composed demeanor was shattered.

Rex "The Beast" Kuroda. Rex is a hulking figure covered in tattoos depicting various gourmet beasts his family has hunted throughout history. His grandfather even claimed to be a friend of Acacia and joined a Hunt. His reputation as a fierce hunter precedes him. However, right now he's pacing back and forth like a caged animal, his brow furrowed deeply in concentration as he tries to remember obscure facts about gourmet creatures that seem to elude him during the test. His fists clench tightly as if ready to unleash his frustration on anyone nearby.

In this moment of collective distress, Danjuro, an unaccredited Tea Master known for his unique approach to herbal infusions, stood at one end of the corridor. He had been observing his fellow candidates with a keen eye, noting how stress had begun to take its toll on them. With a gentle smile that radiated warmth and calmness, he decided it was time to share something special—his very own herbal tea.

The Aroma Awakens

With deliberate care, Danjuro reached into his satchel and pulled out a small flask adorned with intricate designs that hinted at its contents. As he unscrewed the cap, an enchanting aroma began to waft through the air—a blend of chamomile, mint, and a hint of citrus that danced playfully in the hallway. The scent was not just pleasant; it was transformative.

One by one, candidates paused mid-conversation or training exercise as they caught wind of this heavenly fragrance. Their furrowed brows softened; shoulders that had been tense began to relax. It was as if a spell had been cast upon them—a spell woven from nature's finest herbs and Danjuro's transcendent skill as a tea master.

As the scent enveloped them like a warm embrace, candidates instinctively gravitated toward Danjuro. Some approached him cautiously while others rushed forward with eager expressions. They were drawn not only by curiosity but by an innate understanding that this moment could be pivotal in their journey as Hunters.

"Here," Danjuro said softly as he poured small cups of tea from his flask into delicate porcelain vessels he had brought along. "Take a sip; let it cleanse your spirit." His voice was soothing—a balm for frayed nerves.

The first candidate took a tentative sip and closed her eyes as if she were savoring a rare delicacy. A wave of tranquility washed over her features; she felt lighter somehow—as if burdens she hadn't realized she was carrying were lifted away. One by one, others followed suit; soon laughter replaced anxiety as stories were shared over steaming cups of herbal tea.

Danjuro watched with satisfaction as camaraderie blossomed among candidates who had previously viewed each other as rivals. The simple act of sharing tea transformed what could have been an isolating experience into one filled with connection and support.

"I never knew something so simple could feel so profound," murmured another candidate after finishing his cup. "It's like I can think clearly again."

Danjuro smiled knowingly; he understood that true mastery lay not just in crafting exquisite flavors but in creating experiences that resonated deeply within individuals. His herbal tea was more than just a beverage—it was an elixir for stress and uncertainty.

Suddenly, there is a loud banging and the group collectively and calmly turn to look at the noise. Many IGO Hunter Candidates stare in disbelief at the arrival of Zhang Yaochen - the man who was born with the name meaning "Zhang, the one who brings healing in the morning".

The man is known to the IGO as the True Tea Master, a very arrogant, but well-won title. He owns the best Gourmet Tea house in the world, his own brand of teas and beverages, and even an herbal beauty care line.

The True Tea Master, an elderly genius chef, exudes an aura of mystique and wisdom. He stands at around 5'8" with a slender yet wiry build, reminiscent of a master alchemist from a Xianxia novel. His silver hair is long and unkempt, with strands falling to his shoulders like wisps of smoke. A wispy white beard, flecked with hints of silver, frames his gaunt face, giving him an otherworldly appearance.

His eyes, a piercing shade of indigo, seem to bore into the souls of those around him, as if searching for the secrets of the universe. Deep wrinkles etch his forehead, a testament to years of intense focus and dedication to his craft. A prominent nose, slightly hooked at the tip, adds to his mystical aura.

The True Tea Master wears a long, flowing white robe with intricate, swirling patterns embroidered on the hem and cuffs. The robe is cinched at the waist by a worn, leather belt adorned with small, gleaming silver vials and pouches, hinting at his mastery of potions and elixirs. A matching white hat, resembling a wizard's pointed cap, sits atop his head, completing his enigmatic appearance.

"Excuse me young man, where did you get that amazing tea?" says Zhang looking intensely into Danjuro's eyes.

"I gathered the ingredients and brewed it myself." says Danjuro, finding it strange to be called a young man. He hasn't been called that in over century, but he still looks like he did back on his home world at age 28. Zhang looks 70 years old, but he could be seven times that considering the age-slowing ability of the Gourmet Cells. "Would you like a cup?"

"Yes, please."

As Zhang Yaochen, the True Tea Master, raises the delicate porcelain cup to his lips, he inhales the fragrant steam wafting from the herbal tea. The aroma is rich and complex, a blend of earthy undertones and floral notes that seem to dance in the air around him. With a gentle sip, he allows the warm liquid to flow over his tongue, where it bursts into an explosion of flavors—sweetness mingled with a hint of bitterness, reminiscent of ancient forests and sunlit meadows.

The moment the tea enters his system, Zhang feels a surge of energy coursing through his Gourmet Cells. It's as if each sip unlocks hidden reserves within him, awakening dormant vitality that had long been overshadowed by age. The rejuvenating properties of the tea work their magic; he can feel his muscles tightening and strengthening as if they are being sculpted anew. His senses sharpen, and clarity floods his mind like sunlight breaking through clouds.

Though his appearance remains unchanged—his silver hair still flowing like wisps of smoke and his beard untouched by time—the essence of youth begins to radiate from him. He feels lighter, more agile; it's as if years have been peeled away from his existence with each sip. The world around him seems brighter and more vibrant, infused with possibilities that were once obscured by the weight of age.

In this moment, Zhang Yaochen transcends mere physicality; he embodies the spirit of culinary mastery intertwined with life itself. The tea not only nourishes his body but also rekindles a fire within—a reminder that true strength lies not just in youth but in wisdom cultivated over time.

Zhang Yaochen smiles with the serenity of the Buddha and thanks the heavens for bringing Danjuro to him. He reaches out and places his hand on Danjuro's shoulder.

"My dear Danjuro, as I sit here, savoring the warmth of this herbal tea, I am reminded of the delicate balance between youth and wisdom. In my years, I have learned that true strength is not merely a matter of physical prowess but rather the depth of understanding and the richness of experience that one accumulates over time.'

'You possess a spark within you—a passion for culinary arts that resonates with my own spirit. It is rare to find someone who embodies both ambition and humility, qualities that are essential for a true master. Therefore, I wish to extend an offer to you, one that transcends mere apprenticeship.'

'I would like to take you under my wing, not just as a student but as a son. Together, we shall explore the profound mysteries of tea and cuisine. You will learn not only the techniques but also the philosophies that govern our craft. In this journey, we will forge a bond stronger than blood—a connection rooted in shared knowledge and mutual respect.'

'Let us embark on this path together, where I can guide you through the intricate dance of flavors and aromas. With each cup we brew and every dish we create, we will honor the legacy of those who came before us while paving the way for future generations.'

'So, what say you, young one? Will you accept this invitation to become my apprentice and son?"

Danjuro stares at the old master with shock. In truth this isn't the first time he's experienced this.

His Tea mastery started when he opened a [Universal Gift] and received [Brewing Master – SSR]. In that moment he received memories of alternate lifetimes. In one alternate world, he was a chef working at the royal palace of Tian continent, a world straight out of the Xianxia (martial hero) novels. His counterpart would have died if he failed to prepare the Ginsing Fruit Tree leaves. Not just him, but his entire village – every man, woman, child, animal, and pet. He succeeded and was given the Imperial Princess Min (Minami's counterpart), gold, and a floating island.

There were more memories of attaining higher mastery and reaching new levels of cultivation. His counterpart even calmed a raging dragon with his tea and served the tea to the Gods themselves. Those memories hadn't unlocked until decades later when his [Brewing Mastery] ranked up.

*Nemo*

Danjuro accepted the apprenticeship/adoption by Zhang Yaochen. He did so for multiple reasons.

Zhang Yaochen has incredibly passionate about his heart and his words touched his soul. Zhang is more passionate about Brewing mastery than he was about become a Pro-Hero in own home world.

When he does become famous, having a high tier IGO Certified chef listed as his master would smooth out any investigations into his past. IGO also has a tendency to protect their own elite.

Zhan knows more about Tea in this world of Gourmet Cells than Danjuro, despite Danjuro's [Brewery Mastery] skill.

Finally, his Gamer gave him a quest to acquire a master and evolved into the [Culinary Gamer] as one of the rewards. The other reward was [Gourmet Cell Infusion].

There are two primary methods through which humans, particularly Gourmet Hunters, can acquire Gourmet Cells:

Ingestion is the safer method for acquiring Gourmet Cells. It involves consuming food items or pills that contain these cells. When a person ingests these cells, they begin to adapt and conform to their body over time. However, this method is slow and may not always result in successful adaptation; in some cases, individuals may not experience any enhancements at all.

Injection method involves directly injecting Gourmet Cells into the body using a syringe. While this approach is faster and can lead to rapid adaptation of the cells within the individual's system, it carries significant risks. If the injected cells fail to adapt properly, they can invade and mutate the host's body, potentially resulting in monstrous transformations or even death. This method has been used by various characters in Toriko who sought immediate power boosts from their Gourmet Cells.

Danjuro holds up the injector and cartridge containing the Gourmet Cells - a golden liquid with luminous highlights that flow in a double helix.

"It's a special injector that completely painless, but doesn't look like a normal jet injector either." notes Kaina about the gun-shaped medical device. "It's also marked with a symbol and the English words Cognito Inc. Biomedical."

[Gourmet Cell Infusion]

Item

The Gourmet Cell Infusion is a groundbreaking enhancement designed for individuals seeking to maximize their potential through the integration of advanced Gourmet Cells. These cells are not only superior in quality compared to standard Gourmet Cells but also engineered for rapid adaptation, allowing the host to achieve "Perfect" compatibility with their biological systems almost instantaneously.

Developed by Doctor Genus, this infusion leverages a Universal Gift that was previously acquired and tailored specifically for a variant humanoid species found on a Garden world. This adaptation process takes into account the unique physiological traits of metahuman variants, ensuring that the infusion can be effectively utilized across diverse genetic backgrounds.

Upon administration, the infused individual experiences heightened physical abilities, enhanced sensory perception, and accelerated healing processes. The efficiency of these modified Gourmet Cells allows for quicker assimilation and transformation within the body, leading to remarkable feats of strength and agility. Moreover, users may unlock latent abilities tied to their specific genetic makeup, resulting in a unique blend of powers that can vary significantly from one individual to another.

In addition to physical enhancements, the infusion also promotes an increased affinity for gourmet ingredients and culinary techniques, enabling users to harness the full potential. of their gastronomic skills. This makes them not only formidable in combat but also exceptional chefs capable of creating dishes that can further amplify their abilities or provide significant benefits to allies.

[Doses: 03]

"Three doses. Gamer is not subtle is it." says Minami, looking carefully at the symbol, "Nemo and Oda told us about this company, It's the one founded by Oda's counterpart, the super genius who solved the universe's problems."

"I was concerned about getting injections since we don't know how they would react with our meta-abilities, but The Gamer wouldn't kill us if it considers us useful,"

[Universal Gifts] are supposed to be completely random, but due to some sort of outside influence they follow a theme. Quest rewards are similar to [Universal Gifts, but are not random. Instead, the rewards are almost always vital to future quests, side-quests, and development on the world.

Danjuro loads the easy-use injector, deactivates the safety, places the tip where the idiot-proof machine indicates, and pulls the trigger. Kaina and Minami watch as golden glow spreads from the injection point following the circulatory system, before the fading as the cells completely diffuse into the body. Danjuro feels a warmth and energy surging through his body, and he can also feel his Quirk reacting.

Gourmet Energy, also known as Appetite Energy, is a fundamental force within the universe of Toriko, representing the essence of taste, desire for food, and the life force that sustains all living beings. This energy is deeply intertwined with the concept of Gourmet Cells, which are physical manifestations of savoriness and the source of life and ingredients in this universe.

Danjuro picks up a random book from his desk and it becomes like elastic rubber in his hand, bouncing and rippling in hand while producing ripples of gold light.

"It kind of reminds me of Trigger." says Danjuro.

"Only it's safe, legal, and permanent." adds Kaina.

Many Quirk (power) boosters existed in his home world. Most of them being highly addictive drugs with significant health risks used by criminals with Trigger being the most well-known. Doctor Nobunara Oda changed how Quirks worked before he left for Earth Land, making it so powers can now be bought and sold, and those illegal boosters no longer work. An entire drug market collapsed into nothing by one man.

Minami injects herself and the effect on her is more visually spectacular. Her hair glows with fiery red patterns that go from her scalp to the tips of each hair, emitting motts of light. Her hair flows like a sea anemone in the turbulent tides of the deep ocean. She is also emitting a reddish-pink aura that is strengthening Danjuro. Her quirks [Love] and [Slice] sing to her as her body reaches new heights of stamina and efficiency.

Kaina is the last to inject herself and looks a little nervous since her Quirk turns her into living sniper rifle. Thankfully, only her long, pink-streaked indigo hair moves and glows. Her quirk [Rifle] not only allows her to turn her arm into a rifle, but her hair forms the epoxy-like special bullets.

The three then go to sleep.

In the world of MHA-Earth, while there are over 3,000 varieties of tea globally, they can be broadly categorized into six main types. In the world of Toriko, there are over 26,000 varieties of Tea; due in part to Toriko's Earth having a 220,000 km circumference, making it closer in size to Jupiter. Like MHA-Earth, teas in the world of Toriko can be broadly categorized into six main types – White Tea, Green Tea, Yellow Tea, Oolong Tea, Black Tea, and Dark Tea (or Post-Fermented Tea)

In addition to these six main types, there are also numerous sub-varieties and blends within each category, as well as herbal infusions (often referred to as herbal teas), which do not come from the Camellia sinensis plant.

Herbal teas, often referred to as tisanes, encompass a vast variety of blends and flavors derived from different plants, flowers, fruits, and herbs. Unlike traditional teas that come from the Camellia sinensis plant, herbal teas can be made from an extensive range of botanical ingredients.

On this world, infused with the Gourmet matter and energy, biodiversity is several times greater than Danjuro's birth world. The sheer number of plants, flowers, fruits, and herbs alone is overwhelming to the man.

"Welcome, aspiring tea gatherers! Today marks the beginning of your journey into the intricate world of tea. As you stand before me, know that the path ahead is not merely about gathering ingredients; it is a test of your understanding, respect for nature, and skill in identifying the finest elements that contribute to the art of tea-making.

There are six main types of Camellia tea: Green, Black, White, Oolong, Yellow, and Pu-erh. Each type has its unique characteristics and requires specific conditions to thrive. You must familiarize yourself with these varieties and their preferred environments.

In addition to Camellia tea, you will also explore five main types of Herbal tea. These herbs offer a diverse range of flavors and health benefits but require careful selection from their natural habitats.

As your first test, I challenge you to venture into the wild areas I have marked on this map. Your mission is to gather ingredients for one type of Camellia tea and one type of Herbal tea. Remember: these ingredients must be sourced from their natural environments—no shortcuts through markets or biotopes allowed!

Moreover, ensure that the locations you choose have a minimum capture level of 5. This level indicates a rich biodiversity where plants flourish naturally; it is essential for ensuring that what you gather is both potent and authentic.

This task will not only test your knowledge but also your ability to connect with nature. Pay attention to the ecosystem around you; observe how each plant interacts with its environment. The essence of true tea lies in this harmony between nature and nurture.

Now go forth! Embrace this challenge with an open heart and keen senses. Your journey begins now!"

Zhang sure likes to make big speeches, thinks Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina at the same time.

Black Tea: Fully oxidized leaves that produce a dark, robust flavor and a deep amber color.

Nestled between towering cliffs and dense forests, Shade Valley is a secluded haven characterized by its lush greenery and vibrant flora. The valley is fed by a series of crystal-clear streams that meander through the landscape, providing an abundant water supply that sustains a diverse range of plant life. The mild temperatures throughout the year create an ideal microclimate for various species, making it a hotspot for botanists and herbologists alike.

The valley is home to numerous unique plants, some of which are rare or even endemic to the region. Colorful wildflowers bloom in abundance during spring, while medicinal herbs thrive in shaded areas. The rich biodiversity attracts not only researchers but also ingredient hunters seeking rare culinary components. Birds and small mammals can often be seen darting through the underbrush, adding to the valley's vibrant ecosystem.

The field where the evergreen shrub exists is a very open and the plant itself looks like an oversize version of Camellia sinensis (tea plant). There are thousands of cultivars of this plant, but this valley is where the original was found and is still found. Other plants growing with the shrubs generate a scent that repels insects, but there are many large herbivores that feed on the Shade Tea Plant.

The problem is where herbivores gather, so do predators.

Black Tea Tiger

Type: Mammal

Capture Level: 5

Diet: Carnivore (pure)

Habitat: Shade Valley

The Black Tea Tiger is a formidable apex predator that roams the lush landscapes of Shade Valley. This beast is characterized by its sleek, muscular build and striking black fur, which is adorned with subtle golden stripes reminiscent of tea leaves. Its eyes are a piercing amber, providing exceptional night vision, allowing it to hunt effectively in low-light conditions.

This tiger possesses powerful limbs equipped with retractable claws, enabling it to climb trees and navigate the rugged terrain of the valley with ease. Its keen sense of smell and acute hearing make it an adept hunter, capable of stalking herbivores that graze on the abundant flora. The Black Tea Tiger's diet primarily consists of large herbivores such as deer and wild boar, but it is also known to be opportunistic, occasionally scavenging when necessary.

The Black Tea Tiger is currently attacking Danjuro and beast is angry that the strange silver-haired ape that smells strongly of tea bounces around like Rubber Rabbit. It's fangs and claws glow in the moon's light.

Danjuro is trying to avoid the tiger, which is at least twice the size of a Siberian Tiger from Earth. Finally, Danjuro touches the tiger and massive tiger beast falls to the ground unconscious.

"Our magic might be weaker in this world, but it can still be effective."

The silver-haired former villain then goes over the shade tea plant and retrieves some leaves. As he holds the leaves in his gloved hands, they reflect shades of red in the moonlight.

"The Shadow Brew is crafted from fully oxidized leaves that shimmer with an iridescent sheen, reflecting hues of deep crimson and midnight black. The leaves are harvested under a full moon, believed to absorb lunar energy. When steeped, the tea produces a dark, robust flavor reminiscent of rich chocolate and smoky undertones. Its deep amber color glows like molten gold in sunlight." says Danjuro remembering his books, "This tea is can enhance stamina and mental clarity, providing drinkers with heightened reflexes and focus during intense battles or challenges. It also possesses properties that can temporarily boost physical strength, making it a favorite among Hunters."

Green Tea: Minimally oxidized leaves that retain their green color and have a fresh, vegetal taste.

Green Hills is a picturesque and serene location characterized by its rolling emerald hills, which are blanketed with lush grass, vibrant shrubs, and an array of flowering plants. The landscape is particularly enchanting in the early morning when the dew glistens on the foliage, creating a magical atmosphere that captivates anyone who visits.

The diverse plant life in Green Hills includes wildflowers that bloom in various colors throughout the seasons, adding splashes of color to the verdant scenery. The shrubs provide shelter for smaller wildlife and contribute to the rich biodiversity of the area. Trees dotting the hillsides offer shade and enhance the natural beauty of this idyllic setting.

At the heart of Green Hills lies a large, unusually deep lake with crystal clear water that reflects the sky like a mirror. This lake serves as a vital resource for both flora and fauna in the region. Its pristine waters are home to various aquatic species, making it an attractive spot for fishing or simply enjoying nature's tranquility.

Despite its beauty, Green Hills is not without its challenges. The native Green Hill Monkeys pose a significant threat to potential inhabitants due to their aggressive behavior. These primates are known for their territorial nature and can be quite hostile towards intruders, making it essential for anyone considering building a home in this paradise to take precautions against these formidable creatures.

Green Hill Monkey

(x20)

Type: Mammal

Capture Level: 8

Diet: Omnivore

Habitat: Green Hills

The Green Hill Monkeys look like Mandrill (Mandrillus Sphinx), but way bigger. Even the juvenile in back is the size of an Adult Mandrill of 77 lbs. (35 kg). The monkeys are angry that three unknown primates entered their territory, but they are cautious because they have no fear which means they are confident in their abilities.

The Leader of the Monkeys is a large male with a scar over his face which has earned him the unimaginative name "Green Scar" from the nature conservatists. His dark green fur also has a gray streak on his head, which lessens his natural camouflage ability. Green Scar watches as the silver haired Danjuro pulls out take out a container. The very intelligent monkeys are tool users and even make their own clay pottery to store food and water.

Danjuro then offers a cup of tea to Green Scar. The Boss Monkey is curious as his subordinate monkeys also do the same, Green Hills Monkeys will offer containers of food and water to either their superiors or their mates, and the Monkeys can tell by smell the silver-haired male human is mated to the red-haired female human.

As Green Scar cautiously brings the cup to his lips, a wave of curiosity washes over him. The aroma wafts through the air, rich and inviting, awakening his senses. With a tentative sip, he feels the warmth spread through his body, igniting a spark of exhilaration.

The moment the tea touches his tongue, an explosion of flavors dances across his palate—earthy undertones mingling with hints of sweetness and a refreshing zest that invigorates him. His eyes widen in surprise as he savors the complexity; it's unlike anything he has ever tasted before.

With each subsequent sip, Green Scar's initial curiosity transforms into sheer delight. He lets out a low grunt of approval, his scarred face breaking into an expression of blissful astonishment. The other monkeys watch in awe as their leader revels in this extraordinary experience, their own excitement palpable as they anticipate their turn to taste this remarkable brew.

Finally, setting down the cup with reverence, Green Scar looks at Danjuro with newfound respect. He realizes that this human is not just any visitor; he is a bearer of gourmet treasures that could elevate their existence beyond mere survival. In that moment, Green Scar understands that this tea is not just a drink—it's an experience that transcends the ordinary.

It was on that day, Green Hill Monkey civilization advanced. While they understood the concept of "dried leaves in water makes water taste different", this was the day tea brewing became known to them.

"The Verdant Essence is made from minimally oxidized leaves that retain their vibrant green color, resembling emeralds glistening in the morning dew. The leaves are hand-picked at dawn when they are most potent, exuding a fresh, vegetal aroma reminiscent of springtime gardens. When brewed, the tea reveals a bright jade hue and offers a crisp taste with hints of sweet grass and delicate floral notes." say Danjuro holding a cup of Verdant Essence, while the monkeys enjoy their own cups. "Known for its rejuvenating properties, this tea revitalizes the body and mind. It enhances metabolism and promotes longevity while providing an aura of tranquility that calms even the most tumultuous spirits."

Danjuro feels a strange sensation, which he realizes are his Gourmet Cells reacting. He felt a small sensation when he drank Shadow Brew, but this sensation is stronger. He wonders if he will feel something even stronger sooner.

Oolong Tea: Partially oxidized leaves that fall between black and green tea in terms of oxidation levels, offering a wide range of flavors.

The Twilight Cavern is steeped in mystery and lore, originating from the exploits of a legendary Gourmet Ingredient Hunter known only as Eldrin. Over 150 years ago, Eldrin discovered this hidden realm while traversing uncharted territories in search of rare ingredients that could enhance culinary creations and promote health. The cavern was unlike any other; it was bathed in a soft, ethereal glow from bioluminescent moss that thrived in its damp environment, while unique crystal formations refracted light in mesmerizing patterns.

Eldrin's discovery was not merely about the ingredients but also about their profound effects on both physical and mental well-being. The cavern housed ingredients that could heal ailments, boost vitality, and even enhance cognitive functions. However, Eldrin understood the significance of his find and chose to keep its location a closely guarded secret. He referred to the method of accessing the cavern as the Key of the Twilight, a cryptic phrase that hinted at a deeper understanding or ritual necessary to enter this enchanted space.

Upon Eldrin's death, the knowledge of how to access the Twilight Cavern died with him. Despite numerous attempts by other hunters and chefs to uncover its secrets over the decades, none succeeded. The once sought-after Twilight Ingredients vanished from markets, leading to a decline in their use and an increase in myths surrounding them. As time passed, stories of Eldrin's adventures became folklore, inspiring many but revealing little about the actual location or means to access it.

Today, the Twilight Cavern remains an elusive legend within culinary circles—a tantalizing whisper of what once was—awaiting someone worthy enough to rediscover its secrets and unlock the Key of the Twilight.

Danjuro following the instructions of the Gamer has located the entrance with his wife and friend, and is currently trying to solve a 150-year-old puzzle.

An old fisherman nearby is just smiling as he fishes.

"Yer wastin' yer time, fancy tea hunter. Me great-great-great-grandfather claimed he knew Eldrin. He even said the entrance to the Twilight Cavern was located here, but afther Eldin died, generations of me family wasted their money tryin' to find it again. Now we're just poor fishermen." he says with an Irish accent.

"Excuse me, but what's your name?" asks Kaina, "You probably overheard our names are Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina."

"Jack The Sixth (Jack VI), descendant of Jack Ó Iascair Mór"

Danjuro's eyebrow goes up at the name – Jack the Great Fisherman was a Gourmet Hunter famous for catching gourmet fish, even in the Gourmet world. He's even famous for catching a 22-meter-long Warner Shark (Capture Level 53) without any equipment. Taking out the Grim Reaper of the Sea without any weapons is impressive.

Suddenly, Minami makes an excited noise and closes a biography book. It's titled "Eldrin Gourmandis – Legend or Luck by Cassandra Flavors. It's a newer re-print of a very old book complete with the bookstore sticker.

"I think people are looking at it wrong." says Minami, "They talk about Eldrin like he was a secret disciple of Acacia, but according his biography he just possessed immense Food Luck. He caught the Ragout Rabbit and the Great Kakariko Chicken on accident. He found eleven herbs and spices when he fell down a cliff! He stumbled onto many ingredients by accident. If he found the entrance here, he didn't perform some ritual and special technique. He either did something by accident or it was natural phenomenon."

"Ah, now that I think about it, me great-great-great-grandfather Jack did call Eldrin a lucky little bastard," says the old fisherman, his voice thick with the lilt of the Irish coast. "Jack the First, he was, y'know? A right character, he was. Wrote in his journal 'bout the day he first laid eyes on young Eldrin. The lad had just gone and overturned his pot of soup—can ye imagine? Cryin' like a wee babe he was, tears streamin' down his face like rain on a stormy day."

The fisherman chuckles softly, shaking his head as if to clear away the memory of that fateful encounter. "Old Jack felt a pang of sympathy for the poor boy. There he was, all alone and blubberin', with naught but a mess of soup to show for it. So, what does Jack do? He gives him his fish! A fine catch it was too—fresh from the sea and glistenin' in the sun."

He leans back against the weathered wood of his boat, eyes twinkling with mischief as he continues. "Now here's where it gets interestin'. The very next day after that meetin', wouldn't ye know it—a portal to a secret realm opened up right before their eyes! Aye, that's how fate works sometimes. One moment yer spillin' soup and feelin' sorry fer yerself, and the next yer standin' at th' threshold of adventure!"

Minami smiles and says "Let's start cooking."

A few hours later, Danjuro and Minami have created a large pot of Bouillabaisse - a variety of fish, shellfish, and aromatic vegetables simmered in a broth flavored with herbs, spices, and saffron. The combination of ingredients varies widely depending on local catches and personal recipes, making each bowl unique. Jack has kind enough to help gather some of the ingredients and to feed his own curiosity.

"The recipe was recorded in his biography. The Bouillabaisse recipe was created by chef Marguerite Cuisinier, Eldrin's mother. He ate it on the anniversary of his mother's death to help him remember her. That date is one day before the Twilight Cavern was found." says Minami

"Ah sure, no wonder the poor fella lost it when it was spilled." says Jack, grimacing and thinking about his own late mother.

Taking a big bowl of Bouillabaisse, Minami walks to the end of a finger of gray rock reaching out into the ocean. She is careful to avoid slipping on the wet rocks littered with seaweed and kelp. The smell of the ocean brine contrasts with the aromatic soup heavy with herbs, spices, and saffron. Minami raises the bowl as if offering the soup to the sea and a wind blows. She then drops the bowl into the ocean. The waters foam as thousands of fish devours every trace of the soup dispersing in the sea water.

Then Gourmet Hunters then watch carefully as they see a faint golden energy spread across the surface of the water, flowing into the rocks and converging at single point.

The next day at twilight, it happens; the portal to the secret realm known as the Twilight Cavern opens.

"How?" asks Jack.

"This area is often underwater and when a lot of gourmet energy gets close to the gate, it opens just enough to allow the water to flow into the cavern. The sea water rich in sea flora and fauna feds the cavern and allows life to grow in that isolated space." says Minami, "The Bouillabaisse being eaten by the fish creates a surge of refined energy that confuses the mechanism causing it to open when the tide is low."

As one steps into the Twilight Caverns, they are immediately enveloped by a surreal ambiance created by the bioluminescent moss that carpets the cavern floor and clings to the damp walls. This moss emits a soft, pulsating light that ranges from deep blues to vibrant greens, casting an otherworldly glow throughout the space. The light is not harsh but rather soothing, reminiscent of moonlight filtering through a dense forest canopy. This natural luminescence serves not only as a source of illumination but also as a vital component of the cavern's ecosystem, providing energy for various organisms that thrive in this unique environment.

Towering above the ground are unique crystal formations that jut out from the cavern walls and ceiling like nature's own sculptures. These crystals vary in size and shape; some are slender and sharp, while others are broad and rounded. Their surfaces glisten with moisture, reflecting the bioluminescent light in dazzling patterns that dance across the cavern's surfaces. When water drips from stalactites above, it creates a symphony of sound as it strikes these crystalline structures, producing melodic chimes that resonate throughout the caverns. The interplay between light and sound creates an immersive experience for anyone who ventures into this hidden world.

The gate functions as both an entrance and an ecological filter; it regulates the flow of seawater from the ocean into the caverns while ensuring that only specific flora and fauna can pass through. This mechanism allows for a continuous exchange of nutrients between the ocean and cavern ecosystems, fostering biodiversity within this secluded habitat.

Inside Twilight Caverns lies an intricate web of life adapted to its unique conditions. Various species of plants have evolved to thrive in low-light environments; some exhibit iridescent qualities similar to their mossy counterparts while others possess thick leaves designed to capture moisture from the air. Among these plants are carnivorous species that have developed specialized mechanisms to trap insects drawn in by the glowing allure of their surroundings.

The fauna within these caverns is equally fascinating. Creatures such as luminescent fish glide gracefully through underground streams fed by ocean water, their bodies shimmering like living jewels against the dark backdrop of rock and crystal. Insects with translucent wings flit about, leaving trails of sparkling dust in their wake as they navigate through this enchanting realm. Larger predators may lurk in shadowy corners, relying on stealth and acute senses honed over generations spent in darkness.

"Tea Leaves?" says Jack looking at oddly shaded leaves in Danjuro's gloved hands.

"Twilight Harmony. A rare Oolong that hasn't been seen by the world in 150 years." says Minami.

"Twilight Harmony features partially oxidized leaves that exhibit a gradient of colors from deep green to burnt orange. These leaves are rolled into tight pearls that unfurl beautifully when steeped. The aroma is complex—floral notes mingle with roasted nuts and honeyed sweetness. The resulting brew has a warm amber glow that invites indulgence." says Danjuro remembering what was written, "This tea balances yin and yang energies within the body, promoting harmony in both physical health and emotional well-being. It aids digestion and enhances skin vitality while offering protection against stress-related ailments."

"Ah, that sounds like that Food Honor stuff, does it now? I never did quite grasp the whole notion of it, to be honest. Just heard folks chattin' about it here and there, but it's all a bit lost on me. What's the big deal with it anyway? Seems like a right fancy concept for a bit of grub, if ye ask me!" says Jack.

Food Honor, also known as Food Etiquette, is a philosophical and customary practice in the world of Toriko that emphasizes gratitude for ingredients and a disciplined approach to eating. It teaches practitioners to appreciate the bounty of life by consuming food in a manner that enhances its flavor and potential.

"A man told us to always be grateful for the food you have." says Kaina, spooking Jack. He didn't know the purple haired beauty was capable of talking. She hasn't said a word since they met.

White Tea: Made from young buds and leaves that are minimally processed, resulting in a delicate flavor profile.

Misty Peaks is a group of towering mountains shrouded in thick mist that not only create an ethereal landscape but also influence the growth of unique flora. It's so special, that natives speak of Tea Spirits - Ethereal beings or spirits that inhabit these misty areas, nurturing the tea plants and enhancing their flavor through mystical means. The high altitude contributes to a unique terroir, where the air quality, temperature fluctuations, and humidity levels create distinct flavor profiles in the tea.

Other than producing the highest grade of White Tea - Big White (Da Bai), the area is also famous for other unique ingredients.

Cloud Mist Dew - Cloud Mist Dew is a rare and ethereal substance collected from the highest peaks during specific lunar phases, which imbues Dai Bai tea with an unparalleled sweetness and aroma. This dew forms under unique climatic conditions, where the cool mountain air meets the warmth of the sun during these lunar events, creating a delicate balance that allows the dew to crystallize on the leaves of Cloud Mist plants. The collection process is perilous, as climbers must navigate treacherous terrain inhabited by small mammalian beasts known for their burrowing habits. These creatures play a crucial role in the ecosystem; their digging not only aerates the soil but also allows the roots of Cloud Mist plants to expand and thrive. Their excrement serves as a natural fertilizer, enriching the surrounding flora. Due to their vital contribution to maintaining this delicate environment, these beasts are protected by law, making it illegal to harm them.

Mountain Blossom Nectar - Mountain Blossom Nectar is an exquisite nectar derived from rare flowers that bloom exclusively in this region, adding floral notes that elevate Dai Bai tea's flavor profile. The flowers flourish in harsh mountainous conditions, thriving where few other plants can survive. Their blossoms are vibrant and fragrant, attracting Rock Bees—large insect-like creatures resembling apple-size honeybees. These bees are not only formidable due to their size but also possess a unique ability to spray a corrosive venom capable of eroding rock formations. This venomous defense mechanism allows them to create complex nests within mountains, consisting of interconnecting tunnels that serve both as homes and honey production sites. The honey produced by Rock Bees is exceptionally rare due to its challenging harvesting process and the dangers posed by these bees. As such, Mountain Blossom Nectar is highly sought after for its distinct flavor and aromatic qualities, making it a prized addition to gourmet teas.

Spirit-infused Leaves - Spirit-infused leaves are a unique and mystical ingredient found within the world of Toriko. These tea leaves are not just ordinary foliage; they have absorbed the ethereal energy from surrounding spirits, which imbues them with extraordinary properties. The infusion process occurs in areas rich with spiritual presence, such as ancient forests or sacred groves, where the natural energies are potent.

The health benefits of spirit-infused leaves are remarkable. They are believed to enhance physical vitality, boost immunity, and promote mental clarity. Consumers often report heightened senses and an overall sense of well-being after consuming tea brewed from these leaves. Additionally, the flavor profile is said to be unparalleled—offering a complex blend of earthy tones with hints of sweetness and umami that can elevate any tea experience.

Despite their promising attributes, the existence and effects of spirit-infused leaves have not yet been confirmed by IGO food scientists. This uncertainty adds an element of intrigue and mystery to these ingredients, making them highly sought after by gourmet chefs and adventurous eaters alike. The potential for culinary innovation is vast, as chefs experiment with these leaves to create dishes that not only tantalize the palate but also provide profound health benefits.

The Misty Monks are a unique group of Buddhistic practitioners residing in the serene valleys near the Misty Peaks. Their lifestyle is deeply intertwined with the natural environment, as they believe in the existence of spirits that inhabit the mountains. This belief system drives their commitment to protecting both the land and its inhabitants.

The monks practice a specialized form of martial arts that harnesses Gourmet energy, which is derived from the natural resources and life forms surrounding them. This martial art not only serves as a means of self-defense but also as a way to connect with the spiritual essence of their environment. Through rigorous training, they develop heightened senses and abilities that allow them to interact harmoniously with nature.

One of their primary responsibilities is caring for creatures injured by environmental hazards, particularly those caused by Misty Moles, known for causing falls, and Rock Bees, which can inflict harm through their acidic sprays. The monks have developed effective healing techniques that utilize local herbs and their understanding of Gourmet energy to treat these injuries, ensuring that both animals and humans can coexist peacefully in this mountainous region.

In addition to their healing practices, the Misty Monks work closely with Mountain Rangers, who are part of the IGO law enforcement. Together, they maintain order in the valley, ensuring that no one disrupts the delicate balance between nature and civilization. This partnership allows them to address any threats posed by poachers or other external forces that may endanger both wildlife and local communities.

As Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina watch in awe, the scene unfolds like a cinematic masterpiece. The monks, their bodies honed from years of rigorous training, move with fluid grace. Each monk is lean and muscular, their bald heads glistening under the sun as they execute precise martial arts techniques. Clad in saffron robes that flutter like banners in the wind, they form a protective barrier around the injured Gourmet hunters. Their expressions are serene yet fierce, embodying a deep commitment to their cause. With each strike and block, they demonstrate not only physical prowess but also an unwavering spirit of unity.

On the opposing side stand the Food Bandits—rough and ragged figures whose appearances tell tales of desperation and greed. Dressed in mismatched clothing that speaks to their haphazard lifestyle, these criminals bear scars from past skirmishes and carry makeshift weapons cobbled together from whatever they could scavenge. Their faces are hardened by life on the fringes of society; some wear masks or bandanas to conceal their identities while others sport wild hairstyles that add to their menacing presence. They snarl and jeer at the monks, emboldened by their numbers but clearly outmatched in skill.

The tension in the air is palpable as the monks counter every attack with precision and discipline. A monk leaps into the air, executing a spinning kick that sends one bandit sprawling to the ground while another monk uses a swift palm strike to deflect an incoming blow aimed at a nearby hunter. The Gourmet hunters watch with wide eyes, torn between fear for their safety and admiration for the monks' bravery.

Danjuro whispers to Minami and Kaina, "It's like we've stepped into a martial arts movie! Look at how they fight!" Minami nods in disbelief while Kaina can hardly contain her excitement as she leans forward to catch every detail of this extraordinary battle unfolding before them.

As the chaos of battle raged below, the air was thick with tension. The monks, clad in their traditional robes, moved with a grace that belied their strength, countering the bandits' crude but relentless assaults. Each clash of fists and weapons echoed through the forest, but it was Kaina who stood apart from the fray, her keen eyes scanning for any sign of danger.

Suddenly, her gaze locked onto a shadowy figure perched high in a tree—a bandit assassin poised to strike. Time seemed to slow as Kaina felt the familiar surge of energy coursing through her veins. With a swift motion, she activated her Quirk, transforming her arm into its sleek rifle form. The transformation was seamless; it was as if she had been born for this moment.

Kaina reached back and plucked a loch of her indigo hair, weaving it into a bullet with practiced ease. The hair shimmered in the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, imbued with her unique power. She took aim, focusing intently on the assassin's position. The world around her faded away as she steadied her breath.

With a single fluid movement, she pulled the trigger. The bullet shot forth like lightning—an ethereal indigo streak that defied human perception. In an instant, it collided with another bullet fired by the assassin aimed directly at the head monk. A resounding crack echoed through the clearing as Kaina's shot snipped the deadly projectile from existence mid-air.

The fighting paused; both monks and bandits turned their heads in disbelief at what they had just witnessed—a feat that seemed impossible to comprehend. Gasps filled the air as they processed Kaina's extraordinary skill.

Without missing a beat, Kaina recalibrated her aim and fired again. This time, her indigo bullet struck true against the assassin's rifle with devastating precision. The weapon shattered into splinters that rained down like confetti as the bandit lost his grip and tumbled from his hiding place in the tree.

He landed hard on the ground below with a thud that reverberated through the clearing. Silence enveloped them all for a heartbeat before chaos erupted anew—this time fueled by fear and confusion rather than bravado.

Kaina stood tall amidst it all, rifle arm still poised and ready for whatever came next. Her heart raced not just from adrenaline but also from an unyielding resolve to protect those who could not defend themselves against such treachery.

"Time to stop being spectators."

As Danjuro descended from his vantage point, the air crackled with anticipation. The bandits, emboldened by their numbers, were caught off guard by the sudden shift in momentum. With a confident grin, Danjuro activated his [Elasticity] Quirk, propelling himself forward with incredible speed and agility. His body stretched and contorted as he bounced off the rocky terrain, each movement fluid and precise.

The bandits barely had time to react as Danjuro landed among them like a whirlwind of chaos. His combat training kicked in; he targeted the nearest bandit with a swift jab to the chest. The impact sent the thug sprawling backward, unconscious before he hit the ground. The monks watched in awe as Danjuro's mastery of his quirk allowed him to dodge incoming attacks effortlessly while delivering precise strikes that incapacitated one bandit after another.

With each bounce and stretch, Danjuro seemed to defy gravity itself. He utilized his surroundings—springing off boulders and trees—to gain height and leverage over his foes. A bandit swung a crude weapon at him, but Danjuro ducked low and countered with an upward kick that sent the attacker crashing into his comrades. The sight was almost comical; it was as if they were being taken down by an invisible force rather than a single hero.

As the last of the bandits fell into a deep slumber, courtesy of Danjuro's gentle yet effective touch, the monks erupted in cheers. They had witnessed not just a fight but a display of skill that transcended mere physical prowess—it was artistry in motion.

"Amazing. You must be an experienced Hunter."

"Actually, I only became a Hunter recently."

"..."

"I had a lot of previous training."

There is a thumping sound and everyone awake turns to see Minami walking out of the temple dragging one of the IGO Rangers, one of the least impressive ones with a gaunt face and dressed in the bright orange mountain jacket.

Minami stood tall, her expression a mix of anger and determination as she dragged Meldrick Sowbane into the temple courtyard. The sun filtered through the ancient trees, casting dappled shadows on the ground, but there was no warmth in her demeanor. The head monk, an elderly man with a long white beard and wise eyes, stepped forward, concern etched on his face.

"What is happening, Mrs. Tobita? Why have you captured Ranger Sowbane?" he asked, his voice steady yet filled with curiosity.

"Meldrick Sowbane," she replied sharply, emphasizing each syllable as if it were a dagger aimed at him. "He was once an IGO counselor with a promising career, but he was a man with many vices." Her gaze hardened as she continued. "A couple of years ago, an illegal brothel was busted and one of the girls was the missing daughter of a high-ranking IGO official—a girl that doctors determined was pregnant by her primary customer."

Sowbane stirred uncomfortably at her words, his bound hands fidgeting against the ropes. He looked up at Minami with a mixture of defiance and fear. "How was I supposed to know how old she was?" he protested weakly, trying to justify his actions as if they could absolve him of guilt.

Minami's glare intensified; it felt like fire against his skin. "You were supposed to be a protector of the innocent," she snapped back. "Instead, you exploited them for your own gain."

The head monk raised an eyebrow at Sowbane's feeble excuse. "Ignorance is no defense when lives are at stake," he said solemnly. The atmosphere thickened with tension as Minami took a step closer to Sowbane, her voice lowering to a fierce whisper.

"You think this is just about you? This is about every life you've ruined in your pursuit of pleasure and power." She gestured around them—the temple grounds were sacred spaces meant for healing and reflection, not for harboring those who would harm others.

Sowbane's bravado began to crumble under Minami's unwavering stare. He shifted uncomfortably again and opened his mouth to speak but faltered as he saw the resolve in her eyes.

"Your past has caught up with you," Minami declared firmly. "And now it's time for justice."

The young monk furrowed his brow, trying to piece together the chaotic web of connections. "But why would Sowbane risk everything by associating with someone like Kurogane? Isn't he just digging his own grave?"

Minami shook her head, her expression serious. "Sowbane is desperate. He's been living on borrowed time ever since he escaped prison. The more he gets involved in the underworld, the harder it became for him to back out. Kurogane offered him a way to make a fortune—by exploiting those restricted plants at Misty Peaks."

"But what about the monks and rangers?" another monk pressed, his voice rising with concern. "They're innocent in all of this!"

"Exactly," Minami replied, her eyes narrowing. "That's why Kurogane was willing to go so far as to eliminate anyone who stood in their way. To him, they're just collateral damage in a much larger game of greed and power."

"So, Sowbane was not just a pawn; he was complicit?" another monk asked incredulously.

"More than that," Minami said firmly. "He's an accomplice who thinks he can control the situation. He believed that if he played his cards right, he would come out on top without facing any consequences."

The young monk sighed heavily, realizing the depth of Sowbane's betrayal. "And if we didn't stop them?"

"Then Misty Peaks could have become a hub for illegal drug production," Minami warned grimly. "And Sowbane would be free to continue hiding behind layers of deceit."

"Where is Rokko Kurogane?" asks the head monk.

"If he was smart, he would be running for his life away from the mountain and making plans to hide using his underworld connections." says Danjuro

"Come Face Me!" yells the rough voice of Kurogane from the front gate.

"But angry bandit leaders don't often make rational choices." finishes Danjuro with a sweat drop.

Rokko Kurogane is a towering figure, standing at approximately 6'4" with a broad, muscular build that speaks to his years as an IGO Gourmet Ingredient Hunter. His physique is well-defined, showcasing bulging biceps and a powerful chest, indicative of his strength and combat prowess.

His skin is weathered and tanned from years spent in the harsh environments of the Misty Peaks mountains, giving him a rugged appearance. Rokko sports a thick, unkempt beard that frames his strong jawline, adding to his intimidating presence. His hair is long and wild, often tied back in a loose ponytail, with strands falling haphazardly around his face.

His eyes are sharp and piercing, a deep shade of brown that reflects both cunning intelligence and a hint of danger. He typically wears practical clothing suited for survival in the wilderness—heavy leather armor adorned with various pockets for carrying stolen goods and ingredients. Scars crisscross his arms and hands, each telling a story of past battles and close encounters.

The head monk, embodying a tranquil wisdom, gazes at Kurogane with an unwavering calmness. "Kurogane," he begins, his voice steady and measured, "you find yourself in a precarious situation, vastly outnumbered and facing formidable odds. What strategy do you envision to navigate this challenge?"

"Strategy. Talent and resources," says Kurogane as his skin turns completely black.

As Gourmet Cells develop in Hunters and Chefs, they develop superhuman abilities based on their physical and mental characteristics. These abilities range from controlling one's hair, generating poison, manipulating bones, manipulate sound, and various others. Kurogane's talent is body hardening, he can transform his skin into black steel which not only makes them more durable than tank, but enhances the strength of his blows.

Kurogane then consumes the contents of a small vial he had hidden on him

As Kurogane consumes the vial, a surge of energy courses through his body, igniting the latent power within his Gourmet Cells. The transformation is not merely physical; it embodies a profound shift in his very essence. His muscles swell with newfound strength, and his bones crack and reform to accommodate his larger frame. The black steel skin becomes even more pronounced, glistening ominously as it reflects light like polished armor.

His facial features morph into a more monstrous visage, with elongated canines protruding from his mouth and fierce, glowing eyes that radiate an intimidating aura. The sharp claws that extend from his fingers are not just weapons; they symbolize the raw ferocity he now possesses. This transformation enhances not only his physical capabilities but also amplifies his predatory instincts, making him a formidable opponent on the battlefield.

With each heartbeat, Kurogane feels an intoxicating rush of power coursing through him, heightening his senses and sharpening his reflexes. He becomes acutely aware of every movement around him, allowing him to anticipate attacks and counter them with brutal efficiency. The combination of enhanced durability and strength makes him nearly unstoppable, turning him into a living weapon driven by primal instincts.

As he embraces this new form, Kurogane's mind teeters on the edge between control and chaos. The thrill of power tempts him to unleash devastation upon those who oppose him.

To the monks, Kurogane has transformed into a demon, but only the head monk and the Gourmet Hunters Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina know what kind of demon.

Monster Trolls are a race of monstrous beings born from the "appetite" of Gourmet Cells and exist to carry out their will. Appetite Demons, also known as Gourmet Cell Demons or Appetite Monsters, are a unique type of Monster Troll spirits who are born out of the Gourmet Cells' appetite and chose a living host with Gourmet Cells to inhabit. This is different, as instead of being an aura of intimidation that grows into its own being, this man's body is mutating into physical manifestation – Demonification.

Kurogane's roar reverberated through the air, a primal sound that echoed off the ancient stone walls of the monastery. His eyes burned with a feral intensity as he charged at the monks, each step shaking the ground beneath him. The young monk, filled with courage and desperation, stepped forward to shield his elder. But Kurogane's monstrous strength was overwhelming; with a single backhanded swipe, he sent the boy crashing into the wall, creating a thunderous impact that resonated like a cannon blast.

As dust settled around the crater where the young monk lay motionless, panic surged among the remaining monks. They exchanged worried glances, their hearts heavy with dread for their fallen comrade. The head monk remained calm amidst chaos, his demeanor embodying years of discipline and wisdom.

"Your journey ends here, monk!" Kurogane bellowed again, his voice dripping with malice as he unleashed a devastating punch aimed directly at the head monk's skull. However, in an astonishing display of agility and skill, the elder monk sidestepped gracefully. With fluid precision reminiscent of water flowing around stones in a stream, he redirected Kurogane's momentum using Aikido principles.

The monstrous figure of Kurogane was sent hurtling backward as if struck by an unseen force. He crashed into another wall but quickly regained his footing, rage boiling within him. "You think you can stop me?" he snarled, launching himself once more at his opponent with bone-shattering ferocity.

Yet again, the head monk danced away from danger. Each attack from Kurogane was met with deft movements; he twisted and turned like smoke in the wind. With every strike that missed its mark, Kurogane grew more frustrated and reckless. The elder monk seized these moments to counterattack—each movement precise and calculated—using Kurogane's own strength against him.

"I am on a path with no end," he stated calmly amidst the chaos as he executed a perfect throw that sent Kurogane sprawling across the courtyard floor. The monks watched in awe; they had never seen such mastery over combat before. It was not just physical prowess but also mental clarity—the head monk embodied peace even in this storm of violence.

Kurogane roared again in defiance as he rose to his feet once more.

The battle raged on between brute force and refined technique; each clash echoed through time itself—a struggle not just for survival but for enlightenment against darkness.

Kurogane getting desperate decides to cheat again and pulls out a red pill from his pocket, holding it awkwardly with his claws. He then pops it in his mouth before the monk can knock it away.

As the red pill dissolved in Kurogane's throat, a surge of dark energy coursed through his veins, igniting a transformation that was both awe-inspiring and terrifying. His body convulsed as muscles expanded and reshaped further, the sound of cracking bones echoing in the stillness of the temple. The old monk, sensing the impending danger, steadied himself, but Kurogane's metamorphosis was relentless.

With each pulse of power, Kurogane's claws elongated into razor-sharp talons, glistening ominously under the dim light. His fangs grew longer and more menacing, capable of rending flesh with ease. Horns erupted from his skull like jagged mountains piercing the sky, while spikes of black metal sprouted along his spine, giving him an intimidating silhouette that loomed over the monk.

Yet amidst this overwhelming transformation lay a critical flaw—Kurogane's newfound form was unwieldy. The additional limbs flailed awkwardly as he attempted to harness their potential. Each movement felt foreign; coordination eluded him as he grappled with six arms instead of two. He swung wildly at the monk, who deftly dodged and weaved through the chaotic strikes.

The monk remained calm despite the chaos surrounding him. He had faced many formidable foes in his lifetime be they Human or Ingredient, but never one quite like this. Kurogane's ferocity was palpable; however, it was tempered by his lack of control. The monk seized this moment to counterattack, using Kurogane's own momentum against him.

As Kurogane lunged forward with a powerful swipe from one set of arms, he stumbled slightly—a miscalculation that sent him off balance. The monk capitalized on this opening and delivered a swift kick to Kurogane's knee joint. The impact reverberated through Kurogane's body as he crashed to one knee, struggling to regain his footing.

The old monk, a figure of serene wisdom and unparalleled skill, stood resolute in the courtyard, his presence radiating an aura of calm authority. With a swift and deliberate motion, he delivered a strike to Kurogane's chest—a seemingly simple gesture that belied its true power. The impact was not merely physical; it resonated through the air like the tolling of a heavenly bell struck by a war hammer, echoing with an otherworldly resonance that sent shivers down the spines of onlookers. Kurogane, known for his monstrous form as Asura-Kurogane, with six powerful arms and skin forged from black steel, was no ordinary opponent. Yet, despite his formidable stature and strength, he was propelled backward across the courtyard as if weightless, his body tumbling through the air in a display of raw force that defied logic. Dust swirled around him as he landed with a thunderous crash, leaving behind an indelible mark of the monk's mastery—a reminder that true strength lies not just in brute force but in the precision and intent behind each movement.

Kurogane can't feel pain in his mutated form, but he does struggle to pull yet another pill from his clothing. The observers don't know if the shaking is due to internal damage caused by the fight and side effects of the powerful drugs that changed his body.

"Don't do it, Kurogane." says the old master, "You have reached your limit and I don't want to witness your death. Surrender and receive aid, don't spoil the grounds with your demise."

Kurogane doesn't listen. He swallows the pill and his aura of gourmet energy grows both stronger and more erratic.

As Kurogane's body convulses violently, the monks stand frozen, their eyes wide with disbelief. The air thickens with an acrid stench as the black steel skin begins to crack and splinter, revealing the grotesque transformation occurring beneath. Each fissure in his flesh oozes a dark ichor that bubbles and hisses, as if the very essence of his being is rebelling against him.

Suddenly, with a sickening pop, monstrous black tumors burst forth from Kurogane's body. They writhe and pulsate like living entities, each one adorned with jagged mouths lined with glistening black metal teeth. The monks can only watch in horror as these grotesque masses begin to gnaw at Kurogane's own flesh. His screams echo through the temple, a haunting melody of agony that sends chills down their spines.

The tumors feast ravenously, tearing into his arms and legs with insatiable hunger. Kurogane's cries grow more frantic as he realizes he is being consumed from within. The monks can see the despair in his eyes; they are not just witnessing a physical transformation but a tragic betrayal of his own Gourmet Cells—cells that were meant to elevate him now turned into instruments of his demise.

As the last remnants of Kurogane are devoured by the voracious tumors, they swell and expand until they can no longer sustain themselves. With one final shuddering gasp, Kurogane collapses to the ground, leaving behind only a dark stain on the floor where he once stood—a chilling reminder of how ambition can lead to one's downfall when unchecked by wisdom or restraint.

Silence envelops the temple as the monks process what has just transpired. The horror of witnessing such a gruesome demise weigh heavily on their hearts. They realize that this was not merely an end but a cautionary tale about the dangers of power without control—a lesson etched forever in their memories.

"Listen closely, my young disciples. What we have witnessed today is not merely the end of a man, but a profound lesson etched into the very fabric of our existence. Bandit King Kurogane sought power through shortcuts, believing that he could manipulate his Gourmet Cells with vile substances. But in doing so, he betrayed the essence of what it means to be a true gourmet.'

'Gourmet Cells are not mere tools for strength; they are living entities that thrive on the richness of experience and the purity of nature's bounty. They yearn for the flavors of life—each meal savored; each moment cherished. Kurogane's path was one of greed and desperation, and in his quest for instant gratification, he lost sight of the beauty that surrounds us.'

'Remember this: every dish you prepare and every ingredient you choose carries with it a story—a connection to the earth, to those who cultivate it, and to those who share it with you. When you consume food mindfully, you honor not just your body but also the lives that contributed to your nourishment.'

'Let Kurogane's demise serve as a stark reminder: there are no shortcuts in life worth taking. The journey is what enriches us; it is where we find joy and wisdom. Embrace each flavor, each texture, and allow your Gourmet Cells to flourish through genuine experiences rather than artificial enhancements.'

'So, I implore you—live your life fully! Seek out wonderful foods that inspire you! Engage with nature and its gifts! Respect life in all its forms! For in doing so, you will not only nourish yourselves but also honor those who came before us and those who will follow."

Danjuro and Minami both feel something resonate within them at the old monk's words.

The white tea Celestial Whisper is made from young buds and tender leaves picked at dawn before they open fully. These silvery-white buds are covered in fine hairs that sparkle like stardust under light. The infusion yields a pale golden hue with an ethereal fragrance reminiscent of blooming jasmine and soft peach blossoms.

Revered for its anti-aging properties, this tea promotes cellular regeneration and boosts immunity against diseases. It also enhances mental clarity while instilling a sense of peace—a perfect companion for meditation or reflection.

Danjuro sips the white tea prepared in the traditional method and thinks of the old monk's words. His contemplation is only interrupted when one of the buttons on his shirt bursts off, his body growing more muscular.

If Nemo was travelling with him, he would say Danjuro now looks a young Escanor, the Lion Sin of Pride from the Seven Deadly Sins (at early dawn and with white hair).

Pu-erh Tea (Dark Tea): A fermented tea that is aged for several years, known for its earthy flavor and unique processing method.

Yunnan

A couple weeks later

This area is celebrated not only for its rich biodiversity but also for its unique terroir, which includes high altitudes, abundant rainfall, and diverse soil types. This region is often considered the heartland of pu-erh production. The climate here is tropical, with lush vegetation that supports ancient tea trees (known as "Da Ye" or large leaf varietals). Xishuangbanna's rich cultural heritage also plays a role in traditional processing methods passed down through generations.

Older tea trees, often referred to as "wild arbor" trees, are highly prized because they have deeper root systems that absorb more nutrients and minerals from the soil. Trees that are over 60 years old are especially sought after for their complex flavors.

Camellia sinensis var. assamica typically grows as a small tree rather than a bush, reaching heights of 10 to 15 meters (35 to 50 feet) if left unpruned. This growth habit is characterized by a distinct trunk and a branching system that allows it to spread out more than its counterpart, var. Sinensis. The Gourmet version of those same trees are much taller at 30 to 45 meters (129 to 148 feet) with even larger leaves,

Pound Panda

Capture Level: 15

Diet: Omnivorous

Habitat: Yunnan

The Pound Panda is a remarkable evolution of the Giant Panda, embodying the essence of gourmet beasts in the Toriko universe. These creatures are significantly larger and stronger than their mundane counterparts, allowing them to consume vast quantities of the nutrient-rich Gourmet Bamboo, which boasts a far superior nutritional profile compared to ordinary bamboo. This enhanced diet contributes to their impressive physical attributes, including increased muscle mass and agility.

Unlike typical pandas known for their lethargy, Pound Pandas exhibit heightened energy levels and an active lifestyle, making them formidable foragers and hunters within their ecosystem. Their powerful jaws and specialized digestive systems enable them to process large amounts of food efficiently, maximizing nutrient absorption. Additionally, their thick fur provides insulation against harsh environments, while their keen senses aid in locating gourmet food sources. Overall, the Pound Panda represents a pinnacle of evolutionary adaptation in the world of gourmet beasts.

In the dense, verdant expanse of the forest, where the towering bamboo swayed gently in the breeze, chaos erupted as three Gourmet Hunters found themselves in a precarious situation. The air was thick with tension as they sprinted through the underbrush, their hearts pounding in their chests.

"Run! RUN!" yelled one of them, his voice laced with panic. The trio dashed forward, glancing back only to see a massive female Pound Panda barreling towards them. This was no ordinary bear; at 640 kg (1,411 lbs.), she was a formidable force of nature, her bulk reminiscent of a well-fed Polar Bear. Her fur bristled with fury as she chased after the slowest of the group—a young man who had tripped over his own feet in his frantic attempt to escape.

It was clear that these three had done something incredibly foolish to provoke such an enormous creature. Perhaps they had wandered too close to her cubs or disturbed her feeding grounds; whatever the reason, it was evident that their recklessness had put them in grave danger. As they stumbled backward against a sturdy tree trunk, fear etched on their faces, they realized that their lives hung by a thread.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost for these hapless hunters, Kaina emerged from the shadows of the bamboo forest. With her indigo hair flowing dramatically behind her as if caught in an ethereal wind, she exuded an aura of calm amidst the chaos. Kaina was known for her exceptional skills and quick thinking—traits that set her apart from others.

Without hesitation, Kaina assessed the situation and quickly drew one of her special non-lethal bullets from her arsenal. These bullets were designed not just for incapacitating foes but also for minimizing harm to wildlife—a testament to her respect for nature even in dire circumstances. She aimed carefully at the charging Pound Panda and fired.

The bullet zipped through the air with precision, weaving effortlessly around the thick bamboo stalks before striking its target just moments before disaster would have struck. The impact startled the massive bear; she paused mid-charge and let out a confused grunt as a wave of drowsiness washed over her. Within seconds, she collapsed onto the forest floor in a deep slumber.

As silence enveloped the area following this unexpected turn of events, Kaina approached the three Gourmet Hunters who were still frozen in shock against the tree trunk. Their eyes widened as they took in both Kaina's presence and the sight of the now-sleeping panda.

"What did you three do?" Kaina asked sternly but with an undertone of concern mixed with curiosity.

The trio exchanged guilty glances before one finally stammered out an explanation about how they thought it would be amusing to tease what they believed was just another bear cub playing hide-and-seek among the bamboo shoots—completely unaware that they had encroached upon a mother's territory.

Kaina sighed deeply; while their actions were undeniably foolish, there was no denying that they were just young adventurers seeking thrills without fully understanding their consequences. "You could have been seriously hurt," she admonished gently but firmly. The three nearly won a Darwin Award together, so she led them away from the mama bear's territory.

Glitter Monkeys

Capture Level: 5

Diet: Herbivorous (opportunistic)

Habitat: Yunnan

The Glitter Monkey, a gourmet evolution of the Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, exhibits remarkable physical and behavioral traits. Adult males, typically over seven years old, boast robust bodies adorned with luxurious golden guard hairs that shimmer in sunlight. Their distinctive medium brown crests contrast beautifully with the deep brown hues on their backs, crowns, napes, arms, and outer thighs. The vibrancy of their fur is directly linked to their health and diet; well-nourished individuals display an even more radiant coat.

These monkeys possess heightened intelligence and agility, enabling them to expertly navigate the treetops in search of rare fruits that are essential for their gourmet diet. Their foraging skills are complemented by a keen sense of awareness and problem-solving abilities, allowing them to outmaneuver predators and access hard-to-reach food sources. As social creatures, Glitter Monkeys often forage in groups, utilizing teamwork to maximize their foraging efficiency while maintaining a playful demeanor that enhances their social bonds.

In the lush, vibrant forest of Yunnan, where the trees tower like ancient sentinels and the air is thick with the scent of exotic flora, Minami found herself wandering through a world teeming with life. The sun filtered through the canopy, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor as she moved gracefully, her long crimson hair trailing behind her like a comet's tail. Suddenly, her serene exploration was interrupted by a series of distressed calls echoing through the trees—a sound that tugged at her heartstrings.

Following the cries, Minami navigated through dense underbrush until she reached the edge of a river. Her eyes widened in alarm as she spotted a baby Glitter Monkey, its tiny body precariously floating on a piece of driftwood. The current was strong, and just ahead loomed a waterfall—an imminent danger for the helpless creature. On the riverbank, its mother swung anxiously from branch to branch, her eyes wide with panic as she searched for any sign of hope.

As their gazes met, Minami could see an almost human-like pleading in the mother monkey's eyes—a desperate call for help that resonated deeply within her. This moment ignited something within Minami; it was not just about saving an animal but connecting with another being in distress.

With determination surging through her veins, Minami activated her Quirk, enhanced by Gourmet Cells that coursed through her body. Her hair glowed brilliantly, shimmering like spun fire as it began to lengthen and transform into tentacle-like appendages. Each strand became imbued with strength and agility as she prepared to leap into action.

In one fluid motion, she propelled herself forward with incredible speed—her hair extending outward to create a bridge across the rushing water. As she soared over the river, time seemed to slow; every detail sharpened—the glistening surface of the water below and the frantic movements of both mother and child were etched into her mind.

Minami reached out just in time to grasp the baby Glitter Monkey securely in her arms. The little creature squeaked in surprise but quickly settled against her warmth as they continued their flight toward safety. With expert control over her hair manipulation, Minami landed gracefully among the branches of a nearby tree.

There was no time to waste; she gently handed the baby monkey back to its mother. The moment their eyes met again was electric—the mother's relief washed over them both like sunlight breaking through clouds after a storm. A chorus of joyful chattering erupted from the troupe of Glitter Monkeys surrounding them; they danced around Minami in celebration, their vibrant colors sparkling in gratitude.

As a token of their appreciation, one particularly bold monkey approached Minami with an offering—a dozen rare fruits known only to this part of Yunnan. These fruits shimmered with iridescent hues and exuded an intoxicating aroma that promised unparalleled flavor experiences—delicacies worthy of any gourmet feast.

Minami accepted their gift with humility and joy, knowing that this encounter had forged an unbreakable bond between herself and these magnificent creatures. She felt enriched not only by their gratitude but also by having played a role in preserving life amidst nature's delicate balance.

Yunnan Azure Snake

Capture Level: 7

Diet: Carnivore (Opportunistic)

The Yunnan Azure Snake, a gourmet evolution of the Yunnan Blue-Snake, showcases an extraordinary adaptation in both size and strength. This magnificent creature typically boasts a vibrant blue or bluish-green body adorned with dark patterns or stripes, enhancing its striking appearance. Unlike its mundane counterpart, which measures between 4 to 6 feet (1.2 to 1.8 meters), the gourmet version reaches impressive lengths of 12 to 18 feet (~3.7 to 5.5 meters).

The evolution of Gourmet Cells has significantly augmented the snake's constricting abilities, allowing it to rival even the formidable Anaconda in terms of crushing power. This enhanced strength not only aids in subduing prey but also serves as a defense mechanism against potential threats in its environment. The Yunnan Azure Snake embodies the pinnacle of gourmet evolution, merging beauty with lethal efficiency.

In the heart of a lush, vibrant forest, where the air was thick with the scent of wild herbs and the sounds of nature intertwined in a symphony of life, Danjuro found himself on an unexpected adventure. The silver-haired Gourmet Hunter had been traversing this verdant landscape in search of rare ingredients when he stumbled upon a scene that made him pause—a young man sprawled beneath a sprawling tree, blissfully unaware of the danger lurking nearby.

This young Gourmet Hunter, whose name was yet to be revealed, had succumbed to the allure of relaxation. With his senses dulled by smoke and slumber, he lay there like a careless child, oblivious to the world around him. His limbs were tangled in the coils of a Yunnan Azure Snake—a creature known for its striking blue scales and lethal grip. At five meters long, it was not just any snake; it was a formidable predator that could easily crush its prey before delivering a fatal bite.

Danjuro's sharp eyes caught sight of the serpent as it tightened its hold on the foolish hunter. The sight sent a jolt through him; instinct kicked in as he assessed the situation. He shook his head in disbelief at how someone could be so reckless. "What kind of Gourmet Hunter takes a nap under a tree without being aware of their surroundings?" he muttered under his breath.

Without hesitation, Danjuro reached into his satchel and pulled out an herb known for its calming properties—an essential tool for any seasoned hunter who understood both flora and fauna. He crushed the leaves between his fingers, releasing their potent aroma into the air. The scent wafted towards the snake, who paused mid-coil, its forked tongue flicking out to taste the air.

As fear gripped it momentarily at Danjuro's sudden presence, curiosity soon took over. The Yunnan Azure Snake began to relax as it inhaled deeply, drawn in by the soothing fragrance emanating from Danjuro's hand. "Easy now," Danjuro spoke softly but firmly, maintaining eye contact with the creature while slowly inching closer.

The snake's body began to loosen its grip around the hapless hunter as it became entranced by the herb's calming effects. With each passing second, Danjuro seized this opportunity; he approached cautiously yet confidently until he was close enough to reach out and grasp one of the young man's arms.

"Wake up!" he commanded gently but urgently as he shook him lightly. The young man stirred groggily, blinking against dappled sunlight filtering through leaves above him. His eyes widened in confusion as they landed on Danjuro and then darted down to see what had ensnared him.

Realization dawned quickly—he was wrapped tightly within coils that were beginning to loosen thanks to Danjuro's quick thinking. Panic surged through him as he scrambled to comprehend his predicament while still feeling lethargic from whatever substances clouded his mind.

With deft movements honed by years of experience dealing with both dangerous creatures and reckless hunters alike, Danjuro pulled firmly but carefully on his arm while coaxing him free from the snake's embrace. "Hold still! I've got you!" he urged as they both tumbled backward onto soft grass just beyond reach of those deadly coils.

Once clear from immediate danger, Danjuro stood protectively over them both while keeping an eye on the now docile snake that seemed more interested in savoring its newfound aromatic delight than pursuing further aggression.

The young man blinked up at Danjuro with wide eyes filled with gratitude mixed with embarrassment—his earlier bravado replaced by sheepishness as reality set back in. "I… I didn't mean to…" he stammered awkwardly.

Danjuro sighed deeply but couldn't help but smirk slightly at this absurdity before him—a seasoned hunter saving another who had clearly lost touch with common sense amidst indulgence. "Next time," he said dryly yet playfully, "maybe try napping somewhere less dangerous."

Water Dragon Turtle

Capture Level: 8

Diet: Omnivore (Opportunistic)

The Water Dragon Turtle, or Aqua Draconis Tortuga, represents a fascinating Gourmet evolution of the Chinese Soft-Shelled Turtle. This creature boasts a soft, leathery shell that enhances its agility and speed in aquatic environments, distinguishing it from typical turtles with hard scutes. Its olive-colored carapace, often adorned with dark blotches, provides effective camouflage in murky waters.

In terms of size, while the mundane counterparts have females reaching up to 33 cm (13 inches) and males around 27 cm (11 inches), the Gourmet evolution significantly increases in size, ranging from 51 to 75 cm (20 to 30 inches). A remarkable feature of the Water Dragon Turtle is its ability to expel pressurized jets of water from its mouth, akin to mythical sea dragons. This unique adaptation not only aids in defense but also enhances its hunting capabilities. Additionally, it can slightly alter its form to optimize speed while swimming, making it an efficient predator in its gourmet habitat.

As Kaina approached the river, the sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden hue over the landscape. The air was thick with humidity, and the sweet scent of blooming aquatic plants wafted through the breeze. The river itself sparkled like a thousand diamonds scattered across its surface, but beneath that beauty lurked danger—an unseen world teeming with life.

In the center of this picturesque scene stood a young Gourmet Hunter, his presence both commanding and graceful. He was around sixteen years old, with a lean yet muscular physique that spoke of rigorous training and discipline. His long braid of black hair swayed gently with each movement, framing his sharp features and focused expression. Clad in a simple yet functional outfit that allowed for maximum mobility, he embodied the spirit of a martial artist dedicated to honing his skills.

The young hunter balanced precariously on a series of bamboo poles arranged above the water's surface, their natural flexibility adding an element of challenge to his training. With each breath he took, he centered himself, eyes narrowed in concentration as he prepared for what lay ahead. Suddenly, without warning, jets of water erupted from below—the Water Dragon Turtles had sensed his presence.

These magnificent creatures were not just ordinary turtles; they were Gourmet versions known for their ferocity and cunning. Their shells glistened under the sunlight like polished armor, while their powerful limbs propelled them swiftly through the water. Each turtle was capable of launching surprise attacks with precision and speed that could catch even seasoned hunters off guard.

Kaina watched in awe as the young hunter deftly dodged the torrents of water shooting up from beneath him. He moved with an elegance that seemed almost choreographed—twisting his body to evade one jet while simultaneously preparing to leap over another. The sound of splashing water filled the air as he executed flips and spins, showcasing not only his agility but also his deep understanding of timing and distance.

With every successful dodge, Kaina felt a surge of admiration for this young warrior. It was clear that he had spent countless hours perfecting his craft amidst these treacherous waters—a testament to both his determination and skill as a Gourmet Hunter. Yet there was something more profound at play; it was evident that this training was not merely about survival but also about respect for nature's power.

As Kaina continued to observe from a safe distance, he couldn't help but feel inspired by this display of resilience and focus. The young hunter's movements told a story—a narrative woven from threads of struggle against formidable foes and an unwavering commitment to mastering one's abilities in harmony with nature.

As the last echoes of the water dragon turtles faded into the distance, Kaina found herself captivated by the boy's determination. The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden hue over the training ground, where droplets of water glistened like diamonds on the grass. She leaned against a nearby tree, her heart racing with anticipation as she observed him prepare for his next technique.

The boy stood firm, his feet planted shoulder-width apart—a stance that spoke of both stability and readiness. Kaina could see the muscles in his legs tense slightly, grounding him as he focused intently on what lay ahead. With deliberate precision, he brought his hands together at his side, cupping them gently but firmly around waist height. This was no ordinary gesture; it was a ritual that signified the gathering of energy.

Kaina recalled snippets from her readings about Gourmet Energy—an ethereal force that could be harnessed and manipulated by those who understood its intricacies. As she watched him close his eyes momentarily, she sensed a shift in the air around him. He began to concentrate deeply, channeling his gourmet energy into that small space between his hands.

A watery blue light flickered to life between his palms, pulsating rhythmically as if it were a living entity responding to his will. Kaina felt her breath hitch in her throat; this was more than just training—it was an art form. The boy's brow furrowed in concentration as he visualized every detail of what he intended to unleash.

"Ka-me-ha-me-" His voice rang out with clarity and conviction, echoing through the tranquil surroundings like a battle cry.

With a sudden burst of energy, he thrust his cupped hands forward in one fluid motion. The air crackled with anticipation as he released a charged beam of gourmet energy mixed with water—a dazzling display of power and finesse.

"HA!" The sound reverberated off the trees as the beam shot forth like a comet streaking across the sky, illuminating everything in its path with an intense blue glow.

WTF!

Kaina is very familiar with the Dragon Ball Franchise thanks to Nemo, but she never saw one in real life.

Modular Cabin Site, Yunnan

A day later.

Minami, a perceptive and resourceful girl, had been following the tantalizing aroma of roasted meat wafting through the air. Her keen senses, honed from years of training in her world, led her to an unexpected and disturbing scene that would test her resolve and ingenuity.

As she approached the source of the smell, she found herself in a dimly lit room filled with the oppressive scent of charred flesh and spices. The atmosphere was thick with tension, contrasting sharply with the mouthwatering aroma that initially drew her in. At the center of this grotesque tableau sat an obese man known as The Glutton, indulging himself at a lavishly set table. His appearance was striking; he bore a resemblance to a caricature of North Korean leadership—dark eyes glinting with greed, pale skin stretched over his corpulent frame, and black hair styled into an exaggerated pompadour that seemed almost mocking against the backdrop of his gluttonous feast.

On the table before him lay not just one but fifteen expertly roasted Yunnan Hill Partridges—each one meticulously prepared yet now reduced to mere remnants of their former glory. The sight was both appalling and surreal; it spoke volumes about The Glutton's insatiable appetite and disregard for life itself. Nearby stood a chef—a native of Yunnan—his face etched with despair as he worked tirelessly over a makeshift grill. An explosive collar clamped tightly around his neck served as a grim reminder of his captivity; it was clear he was forced into this horrific situation against his will.

The chef's family was not far from him; they were held hostage by armed guards who loomed menacingly nearby, their weapons at the ready. Minami could see the fear in their eyes—the chef's wife and children were similarly adorned with explosive collars, each one representing a life hanging by a thread under The Glutton's tyrannical rule.

Despite the chaos surrounding her, Minami remained calm and collected. She understood that rushing in without a plan would only lead to disaster—not just for herself but for the innocent lives caught in this nightmare. Her mind raced as she formulated a strategy to rescue the chef and his family while neutralizing The Glutton's threat.

First step is to gather Information. Minami took note of her surroundings—the layout of the room, positions of guards, and any potential escape routes. Thankfully, she doesn't have to just us her normal senses, as she can use her extended prehensile hair as sensors. She observed that while The Glutton was engrossed in his meal, two guards were stationed near him while another two kept watches over the chef's family.

Minami knew that if she could create a distraction powerful enough to draw attention away from both The Glutton and the guards, it might provide her an opportunity to rescue the chef's family. With stealthy precision, she maneuvered closer to the generator using her hair to keep watch over the guards' positions. As she approached, she could hear its mechanical whirring intensifying—a sign that it was running hot.

In one swift motion, Minami detached a coolant line from the generator. Instantly, steam hissed out like an angry serpent escaping its confines. The indicators on the control panel flickered into alarming shades of red as warning lights began to flash erratically. A loud alarm blared through the room, piercing through The Glutton's gluttonous feasting and causing him to pause mid-bite.

The guards sprang into action; their attention diverted from their posts as they rushed toward the source of the commotion—the generator now sputtering ominously and threatening to overheat. Minami seized this moment; she could see fear creeping into their eyes as they shouted orders at each other amidst rising chaos.

In the dimly lit confines of the makeshift prison, a palpable tension hung in the air. Shadows flickered across the walls as Minami crouched low, her heart racing with anticipation. She had spent countless hours studying the agricultural practices of this world, particularly the use of large beasts in farming. The collars designed to keep these creatures in check were a marvel of engineering—shock collars that would activate if their wearers strayed too far from designated areas. However, it was the sinister twist that criminals had added to these devices that now fueled her resolve.

Minami's unique quirk, [Hair Manipulation] , allowed her to extend and control her hair with precision akin to that of a master thief. As she surveyed the room filled with hostages—each one shackled by those explosive collars—she felt a surge of determination. These people were not just victims; they were lives waiting to be reclaimed from the clutches of cruelty.

With practiced stealth, she began her work. Her hair slithered like serpents through the air, each strand becoming an extension of her will. She focused intently on the first collar, feeling for the locking mechanism hidden beneath its metallic surface. The guard stationed nearby was oblivious to her presence, engrossed in his own thoughts as he leaned against the wall.

The first click echoed softly in Minami's ears—a sound so satisfying yet so dangerous. She continued her delicate operation, moving swiftly from one collar to another. With each successful unlock, she felt a rush of adrenaline; three clicks resonated simultaneously as she deftly manipulated her hair into position.

Suddenly, a rustle broke through the silence—the guard turned around just as Minami completed her task. His eyes widened in disbelief as he took in the sight before him: a woman with flaming red hair swirling around her like a vibrant sea anemone, adorned with floating metal collars that glinted ominously in the low light.

Before he could utter a word or reach for his weapon, Minami seized the moment. With a swift motion, she commanded her hair to lash out at him like whips made of steel. The metal collars struck him across his face with surprising force—a combination of surprise and pain rendered him momentarily stunned.

"Not so tough now, are you?" Minami taunted playfully as she danced around him gracefully, using her hair not just as tools but also as weapons against oppression.

The guard staggered back, disoriented and bewildered by this unexpected turn of events. He had underestimated not only Minami's skills but also her resolve to free those who had been unjustly imprisoned.

As chaos erupted within the small chamber—the hostages gasping in shock and hope—Minami prepared for what came next. She knew this was only the beginning; freeing them was just one part of a larger plan to dismantle this cruel system once and for all.

As the scene unfolds, the atmosphere is thick with tension and anticipation. The Glutton, a notorious mob boss known for his insatiable appetite for power and chaos, strides back into the makeshift prison area with his remaining guards. Their confidence is palpable; they expect to find their captives subdued and compliant. However, what greets them is a shocking tableau of defeat.

The guard, who had been tasked with keeping watch over the hostages, stands in disarray—his uniform torn and stained, bruises and cuts marring his face like a grotesque canvas. He is barely able to stand, leaning against a wall for support as he gasps for breath. The freed hostages, including the Chef himself are gathered together under the protective embrace of Minami, the striking heroine with hair that flows like liquid scarlet.

Minami's presence radiates strength and determination. Her living scarlet hair dances around her like tendrils of flame, ready to unleash its fury upon those who threaten who she protects. As she locks eyes with the Glutton and his guards, an unspoken challenge hangs in the air. They raise their weapons defiantly but are met with an unexpected counterattack.

With a swift motion of her hands, Minami manipulates her hair to grab hold of the fuel tanks from the Chef's grill. In one fluid movement, she hurls these tanks towards the criminals while simultaneously snatching up the explosive collars that had once been shackled around the necks of the captives.

The moment is electric; time seems to slow as Minami unleashes a barrage of scarlet needles from her hair. Each needle finds its mark in the fuel tanks mid-air, igniting them in a spectacular explosion that would make even Michael Bay envious. The blast sends shockwaves through the cabin as flames erupt in a fiery display of chaos and destruction.

The Glutton's expression shifts from arrogance to sheer horror as he realizes too late that he has underestimated this formidable woman. The explosion engulfs him in flames and debris; he is propelled backward through a fabricated wall made of modular panels designed for quick assembly but ill-equipped to withstand such force.

As if choreographed by fate itself, Glutton crashes through this flimsy barrier and lands unceremoniously in a puddle—a grotesque mix of mud, feathers from nearby avian creatures, entrails likely discarded from previous meals or perhaps victims of his ruthless reign, and bird droppings that add an extra layer of humiliation to his already disastrous fall from grace.

In this moment of black comedy—the kind that elicits laughter even amidst chaos—the once-feared mob boss lies defeated and covered in filth. His grand ambitions reduced to nothing more than a punchline as he sputters amidst the muck.

Aurora Dragon Carp

Capture Level: 3

Diet: Omnivorous

The Aurora Dragon Carp, a Gourmet Beast from the Yunnan region, showcases extraordinary adaptations that elevate its status within the culinary and ecological realms. Its iridescent scales not only serve aesthetic purposes during mating rituals but also reflect its evolutionary prowess, allowing it to communicate visually with potential mates through intricate light patterns. This bioluminescence is a hallmark of its Gourmet Cell evolution, enhancing its allure in the aquatic environment.

In addition to its striking appearance, the Aurora Dragon Carp possesses unique defensive mechanisms. When threatened, it can release a jet of sparkling water that temporarily blinds predators, providing a crucial escape opportunity. This behavior highlights its adaptability and survival instincts in a habitat increasingly challenged by invasive species.

As a keystone species, the Aurora Dragon Carp plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance by consuming algae and detritus, thus contributing to water quality. Its presence is essential for sustaining the health of Yunnan's aquatic ecosystems, making it both a fascinating creature and an important environmental asset

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden hue over the serene lake nestled within the lush Yunnan region. The gentle lapping of water against the shore harmonized with the rustling leaves of nearby trees, creating a symphony of nature that enveloped Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina as they sat on the edge of the dock. Each character was comfortably settled, their fishing poles resting lazily beside them, while an assortment of snacks and drinks lay spread out like a feast fit for gourmet adventurers.

Danjuro, ever the culinary enthusiast, had prepared his signature iced tea recipe—a refreshing blend infused with hints of mint and citrus that sparkled in the sunlight. The aroma wafted through the air, mingling delightfully with the earthy scent of fresh herbs and spices from their recent ingredient-harvesting escapades. Minami nibbled on crispy rice crackers topped with a delicate layer of seaweed, her eyes sparkling with contentment as she savored each bite. Kaina leaned back against a wooden post, taking sips from a thermos filled with homemade fruit juice that burst with flavor.

Suddenly, their peaceful afternoon was interrupted by an exuberant shout from nearby. They turned to see another Gourmet Ingredient Hunter struggling to maintain his grip on an enormous Aurora Dragon Carp. The fish shimmered like a living jewel under the sunlight, its scales reflecting vibrant colors as it thrashed about energetically. Jets of sparkling water erupted from its gills like miniature fountains, creating a dazzling display that caught everyone's attention.

The hunter wore dark sunglasses to shield his eyes from both the sun and the dazzling spectacle before him. Instead of using traditional fishing methods, he had ingeniously employed a loop of silk cord around the fish's tail—a technique that showcased not only his skill but also his understanding of these elusive creatures' behavior. With every tug and pull, he demonstrated remarkable finesse; it was clear he had spent years honing this craft.

He is a strikingly athletic man, standing at 171 cm (5'7") with captivating yellow-green eyes that glimmer with determination. His dark olive skin complements his short, tousled hair, which features vibrant yellowish-green strands intertwined with teal highlights, giving him a unique and eye-catching appearance. Dressed in an all-black ensemble—a fitted shirt, sleek pants, and sturdy boots—he exudes an air of mystery and confidence. The only splash of color comes from his forest green hooded coat that drapes effortlessly over his frame, hinting at a playful yet adventurous spirit. Around his neck hangs a simple yet meaningful necklace, symbolizing his connection to nature and the culinary world.

"Sorry to surprise you, but I've been training my silk lines." says the man, as he manipulates a cord of silk like an extension of his own body, "I'm upholding a legacy."

"Legacy?" asks Kaina, looking curious at the man, causing the man to blush at her beauty.

"My Great-Great-Great-Grandfather was a Gourmet Hunter and so has every generation since then. My family specializes in thread manipulation techniques, they range from simple trap makers to garottes and slicing wires." says the young man, holding up his silk cord, "My Great-Great-Great-Grandfather' weapon Cross Tail was made of the body hair of a Gourmet Beast that lived deep in the Gourmet World, high among the clouds. My weapon was made using a single cocoon from my friend."

Camouflaged on his shoulder is a large Saint Silk Moth Larva the size of a man's fist, Normally, a giant caterpillar would be gross, but this one is surprisingly cute and very chubby. It's same green as the man's coat with yellow-green and teal markings.

Saint Silk Moth

Capture Level: 1*

Diet: Herbivore.

The Saint Silk Moth, an evolution of the Yunnan Silk Moth, exemplifies the extraordinary capabilities of Gourmet Cells. These enhanced moths exhibit significant size increases and silk production efficiency, making them a vital asset in gourmet cuisine and textile industries. Their lifecycle mirrors that of traditional silk moths, but with unique adaptations; they can enter a state of imperfect cryptobiosis when exposed to boiling temperatures, allowing them to survive the silk harvesting process longer than their non-evolved counterparts.

In addition to their primary role in silk production, the pupae are a culinary delicacy, often prepared in various dishes that enrich local diets. The larvae that have undergone multiple resets in cocoon production are particularly prized for their flavor, showcasing how Gourmet Cells not only enhance physical attributes but also elevate gastronomic value. This dual-purpose nature of the Saint Silk Moth highlights its significance within both ecological and culinary contexts.

As Kaina listened intently, her serious demeanor softened slightly. "That's quite a legacy you carry," she replied, her voice steady but with a hint of intrigue. "Thread manipulation sounds like an art form in itself. What inspired you to follow in your ancestors' footsteps?"

The young man's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "It's all about connection! Each thread tells a story, and I want to weave my own into our family history. Plus, there's something exhilarating about mastering a skill that has been passed down through generations." He twirled the silk cord around his fingers, demonstrating its flexibility and strength.

Kaina nodded thoughtfully, appreciating his passion. "But it must come with challenges. The Gourmet World is not forgiving. Have you faced any difficulties in your training?"

"Absolutely!" he exclaimed; his optimism unwavering. "There were times when I struggled to control the silk or when I faced opponents who underestimated me because of my age. But every setback is just another opportunity to learn and grow stronger! That's what keeps me going."

Kaina raised an eyebrow, impressed by his resilience. "You have a unique perspective for someone so young. Discipline is key in any training regimen; how do you balance that with your optimistic outlook?"

He chuckled lightly, scratching the back of his head. "I think they go hand-in-hand! Discipline helps me stay focused on my goals, while optimism fuels my motivation to push through tough times. It's like weaving—each thread needs to be strong and purposeful to create something beautiful."

Kaina smiled faintly at his analogy, feeling a sense of camaraderie despite their differences in age and experience. "Perhaps we could learn from each other then," she suggested, her tone shifting slightly as she considered the potential for collaboration.

"Definitely!" he replied eagerly, his excitement palpable. "We could combine your skills with my techniques! Imagine what we could create together!"

"Oh! How rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself – My name is Liam Weaver and this is my partner Xiǎo Sī (Little Silk)"

This unique combination of business acumen and combat prowess has positioned them as influential figures in both the culinary and political landscapes.

As the heir to this illustrious lineage, Liam possesses exceptional education and training. His business skills are reportedly superior even to those of his grandfather, who currently oversees the family's textile empire. This intelligence makes it an invaluable ally in various situations, as it can strategize and assist in combat scenarios.

Measuring an impressive 900 meters in length, Xiǎo Sī produces a thread that is both durable and imbued with paralytic toxins. The Cross Tail V weapon crafted from this thread showcases its lethal potential while also serving as a symbol of their bond.

Despite its formidable abilities, Xiǎo Sī possesses a gluttonous nature, often seeking out food and indulging in culinary delights. This trait adds a layer of charm to its character, making it endearing to Liam and those around them.

Xiǎo Sī's loyalty to Liam Weaver is unwavering. It acts as both protector and companion, showcasing a deep bond forged through shared experiences and challenges faced together.

Phantom Flower Forest

A Week Later.

Flower-based Herbal Teas: These include teas made from flowers such as chamomile, hibiscus, lavender, and rose hips.

The Phantom Flower Forest is a mystical and enchanting expanse that stretches over several miles, characterized by its diverse array of flowering plants. This forest is not just a visual spectacle; it serves as a crucial ecosystem that supports various forms of life, both common and rare. The unique climate and geography of the area contribute to the growth of an extraordinary variety of flora, making it a prime location for botanists, chefs, and adventurers alike.

Within the Phantom Flower Forest, one can find thousands of plant species ranging from the ubiquitous wildflowers that blanket the forest floor to towering trees adorned with vibrant blossoms. The forest is particularly famous for its ultra-rare plants, some of which bloom only under specific conditions or during certain lunar phases. These rare blooms are often sought after for their culinary or medicinal properties, leading many to refer to them as "phantasmal" due to their elusive nature.

Common Species: The forest is home to numerous common flowering plants such as daisies, violets, and buttercups that create a colorful tapestry across the landscape. These plants thrive in abundance and provide essential nutrients for local wildlife.

Rare Species: Among the rarities are flowers like the Lunar Blossom, which only opens on full moon nights, emitting a soft glow that attracts nocturnal pollinators. Another notable example is the Elysian Orchid, known for its exquisite fragrance and healing properties; it blooms once every five years in a hidden glade deep within the forest.

Ultra-Rare Species: The most coveted plants include the Phantom Petal, said to grant temporary superhuman abilities when consumed but only appears during specific celestial alignments. Additionally, there's the legendary Celestial Bloom, rumored to be able to heal any ailment but has been spotted only a handful of times throughout history.

As such, this place is considered the holy land for flower-based herbal teas.

"Today's target is the Rose Hip Crystal Bush."

The Rose Hip Crystal Bush is a captivating flora found within the enchanting Phantom Flower Forest, a mystical region in the Human World of Toriko. This bush stands out due to its striking appearance, with glistening rose hips resembling tiny rubies nestled among its thorny branches. The vibrant hues of pink and gold flowers bloom in clusters, creating a stunning contrast against the dark green leaves that feature serrated edges, enhancing their regal look.

This unique aroma not only attracts wildlife but also contributes to the bush's allure among herbalists and adventurers seeking rare ingredients. The tea brewed from the rose hips is renowned for its rich flavor profile, offering a delightful blend of sweetness and tartness, while being packed with essential nutrients that promote health and vitality.

In addition to its aesthetic and culinary value, the Rose Hip Crystal Bush holds significant cultural importance within the Phantom Flower Forest. It is often associated with various local legends and is believed to possess magical properties that can enhance one's abilities or grant temporary boosts in strength when consumed in specific rituals.

The plant itself is easy to harvest, not even requiring a special preparation method, but it's hard to reach due to one Gourmet Beast. A serpentine draconic beast composed of flora and nearly fifty meters long!

Crystal Rose Dragon

Type: Plant Beast

Capture Level: 50*

Diet: Omnivorous.

Habitat: Phantom Flower Forest

The Crystal Rose Dragon is a formidable mutation of the Black Rose Dragon (Plant Beast, CL 25), exhibiting traits that elevate it to a super-predator status within its ecosystem. This creature's appearance is striking; it resembles an immense wyvern with a body composed of thorny vines and black roots serving as legs. Its torso is covered in thick leaves that mimic scales, while its wings are adorned with vibrant flower petals instead of traditional leathery skin or feathers.

Attacks

Physical Attacks

The Crystal Rose Dragon can utilize its elastic body for powerful physical strikes, making it a dangerous opponent in close combat. It weighs over 70,000 kg (77.16 US tons)

Binding Roots

It possesses the ability to ensnare and immobilize prey using its serpentine roots, effectively capturing any creature that ventures too close.

Toxic Barrage

From its wings, it can launch barrages of toxic thorns, which can inflict severe damage and poison on impact.

Corrosive Breath Attack

The dragon can exhale a dense cloud of plant toxins that not only incapacitate foes but can also corrode materials, turning armor into goo.

Concentrated Spray

By concentrating its gaseous breath, the Crystal Rose Dragon can unleash a corrosive spray capable of disintegrating organic and inorganic matter alike.

As a super-predator, the Crystal Rose Dragon poses a significant threat not only to other creatures within the Phantom Flower Forest but also disrupts the balance of its own habitat. Its predatory nature leads to ecological issues among local fauna and may contribute to the decline of certain plant species due to its voracious appetite.

Danjuro has both [Elasticity] and [Sleep Inducement] powers, but neither are effective against the Crystal Rose Dragon. The CRD's body is also elastic plant fibers and despite acting like a vicious draconic beast the plant beast doesn't have a nervous system or require sleep cycles.

Minami's Quirks are [Love] and [Slice]. The former allows her the boost Danjuro's power and the later allows her to attack with prehensile hair harder than steel. The former only allows them to survive longer, while the later inflicts some damage. Damage which is quickly regenerated by the Level 50 plant. She can't get closer to slice up the beast due to its thorns.

Kaina can hit any target with her [Rifle], but finding a good target on a plant is a difficult task. Plants don't have vital organs located in static structures and they don't have nervous systems that can severed to trigger shutdowns. It's like trying to mow down a rose bush with rifle shots.

The serrated edges of its foliage glinted menacingly in the dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy above. The scent of crystal rose wafted through the air, intoxicating yet foreboding. Danjuro realizes the Crystal Rose Dragon is a hybridization of the Black Rose Dragon and the very plant they came looking for – Crystal Rose Hip Bush.

Danjuro, known for his keen intellect and resourcefulness in battle, quickly assessed their situation. He had always carried a flask of hot water with him—a necessity for brewing his gourmet teas but now a vital tool in their fight. Recognizing that the unique properties of the Crystal Rose Dragon could be exploited, he formulated a plan to immobilize it.

With determination etched on his face, Danjuro uncapped his flask and channeled his energy into it. As he sprayed a targeted section of the creature with steaming hot water, he watched in awe as the plant's outer layers began to crystallize instantly upon contact. The once vibrant green leaves turned into a hard, glass-like surface that shimmered under the light. This transformation rendered that section of the beast immobile, effectively neutralizing part of its threat.

Seizing this opportunity, Kaina stepped forward with her weapon always at the ready. Her eyes narrowed as she took aim at the newly crystallized section of the dragon. With a steady hand and unwavering focus, she fired an explosive piercing bullet that struck true. The impact resonated through the air as shards of crystal flew in all directions; it was a devastating blow that shattered not only the immobilized section but also sent shockwaves through the entire creature.

The Crystal Rose Dragon let out an anguished roar as it staggered backward from Kaina's attack. Its massive form swayed dangerously before beginning to topple over. The ground trembled beneath them as its weight shifted; Danjuro and Kaina exchanged glances filled with determination—this was their moment.

As Minami prepared to act, her hair began to move like serpents unleashed from their confines. With her unique ability to manipulate her hair into razor-sharp tendrils, she launched herself toward the falling beast. Her hair sliced through several vines that were thrashing wildly in response to its injury; each cut was precise and deliberate.

"Now!" she shouted to her comrades as she continued her assault on any remaining appendages that threatened their safety. Her hair danced around her like an extension of herself—each strand cutting cleanly through foliage and vine alike until they lay severed on the forest floor.

With too much water lost from its body due to Danjuro's initial attack and subsequent damage from Kaina's explosive bullet and Minami's slicing maneuvers, the Crystal Rose Dragon began to weaken significantly. It struggled against gravity but ultimately succumbed to its injuries; with one final shuddering breath, it collapsed onto the ground with a resounding thud.

Dust and debris flew up around them as they stood victorious over their fallen foe. The once-mighty creature lay still—its vibrant colors dulled by defeat—and Danjuro felt a mix of triumph and respect for such a magnificent being even in death.

As they caught their breath amidst what remained of their adversary, they knew this victory would not only bolster their reputation but also provide them with valuable resources for future endeavors in their quest for gourmet ingredients.

"I'm getting hungry." says Minami, her red hair now looking very limp.

"I could go for a bite to eat." says Danjuro next to his wife.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the Phantom Flower Forest, an unusual cacophony erupted from within its depths. The Gourmet Ingredient Hunters, seasoned in their quests for rare and exquisite flavors, paused in their tracks, their senses heightened by the sudden symphony of rustling leaves and animal calls. Initially alarmed, they exchanged wary glances, unsure of what to expect from this unexpected disturbance.

Suddenly, from the dense underbrush emerged a parade of enchanting creatures that seemed almost too whimsical to be real. Majestic deer with antlers resembling crystalline branches stepped gracefully into view. Their coats shimmered like dew-kissed petals in the fading light, reflecting a spectrum of colors that danced across their forms. Each step they took was deliberate and serene, as if they were aware of their role as guardians of this magical realm.

Following closely behind were rabbits adorned in vibrant green fur; their oversized ears shaped like delicate leaves swaying gently with each hop. These creatures exuded an aura of innocence and playfulness, darting about with an energy that belied their gentle appearance. Their presence brought a sense of calm to the hunters who had initially felt threatened by the sounds echoing through the forest.

Amongst this charming assembly were small rodents no larger than a squirrel, sporting tails that resembled thorny plants. They scurried about energetically, weaving between the legs of larger animals as if engaged in a playful game. Their tiny bodies were agile and quick, darting back and forth while occasionally pausing to observe the unfolding scene with curious eyes.

Then came a large boar whose back was adorned with vibrant flowers cascading down its sides like a living tapestry. Its tusks appeared polished and wooden, giving it an air of majesty despite its size. The boar moved confidently through the throng of animals, embodying strength and resilience amidst such delicate beauty.

Towering above them all were giant stag beetles with iridescent black exoskeletons that gleamed ominously in the twilight. Their presence added an element of intrigue; these formidable insects were both awe-inspiring and slightly intimidating as they navigated through the gathering crowd. Alongside them flitted rainbow-colored beetles boasting gold-edged shells that sparkled like jewels against the backdrop of foliage.

As if orchestrated by some unseen force, these creatures converged upon a singular focal point—the corpse of the Crystal Rose Dragon sprawled across a clearing where vibrant flora once thrived unchallenged. This super-predator plant beast had long posed a threat to all life within Phantom Flower Forest; its draconic poison breath had left many inhabitants trembling in fear.

Now rendered lifeless by whatever fate had befallen it—perhaps at the hands of other powerful beings or due to its own hubris—the dragon's body lay before them as both an end and a beginning. The critters and bugs wasted no time; instinctively drawn to this bountiful feast laid out before them, they began to devour parts of this colossal creature with fervor.

The majestic deer approached first, delicately nibbling at tendrils that once held toxic power but now lay dormant and harmless. As they feasted on what remained edible—its petals rich in nutrients—they seemed to absorb not just sustenance but also strength from vanquishing such a formidable foe.

The green-furred rabbits joined in next; their large ears perked up as they munched on softer parts of the dragon's body—its floral adornments providing nourishment while simultaneously enriching their own vibrant coats with hues reminiscent of springtime blooms.

Meanwhile, those small rodents scuttled around energetically collecting morsels for themselves and perhaps for others hidden away in burrows nearby. They worked tirelessly together—a community effort—to ensure nothing went to waste while avoiding any remnants still laced with corrosive toxins.

Even as larger animals indulged themselves freely on less hazardous portions of flesh and flower alike, caution prevailed among them regarding certain areas—the thicker roots embedded deep within the earth remained untouched due to their lingering toxicity. It was clear that nature's wisdom guided these creatures; they knew instinctively which parts could nourish them without endangering their lives further.

As night fell over Phantom Flower Forest enveloped in shadows illuminated only by bioluminescent flora glowing softly around them—the atmosphere shifted from one filled with tension to one brimming with harmony once more. The army of cute animals continued feasting together under starlit skies—a testament not only to survival but also resilience against adversity faced collectively throughout generations past.

In witnessing this extraordinary spectacle unfold before them—the Gourmet Ingredient Hunters found themselves captivated not merely by culinary pursuits but rather by something deeper: an intricate web woven through life itself where every creature played its part within nature's grand design—an ecosystem thriving despite challenges faced along its path toward balance restored after chaos had reigned supreme for far too long.

Sage Retreat

A week later.

"Zhang Yaochen, the True Tea Master, had many friends among Gourmet Ingredient Hunters and the IGO. His closest friend, before his unfortunate demise was a man named Sage Walker. The Sage Retreat was founded by him."

Sage Walker is a prominent figure in the world of gourmet ingredient hunting, known not only for his exceptional skills in locating rare and exquisite ingredients but also for his deep commitment to environmental conservation. His life's work has been characterized by a harmonious blend of culinary exploration and ecological stewardship. As a gourmet ingredient hunter, he traversed diverse ecosystems, from lush forests to arid deserts, always with an eye toward sustainability. His adventures often led him to discover unique ingredients that could elevate the culinary arts while simultaneously advocating for their preservation.

Throughout his career, Sage formed alliances with ecologists, environmentalists, naturalists, and nature activists. These collaborations were pivotal in promoting sustainable practices within the gourmet hunting community. Together with the International Gourmet Organization (IGO), they worked tirelessly to ensure that future generations would inherit a world rich in biodiversity and natural beauty. Sage's efforts included conducting workshops on sustainable harvesting techniques and participating in conservation projects aimed at restoring habitats affected by human activity.

His relationships with these groups were not merely professional; they were rooted in shared values of respect for nature and a desire to educate others about the importance of preserving ecosystems. Sage often organized events where he would share his knowledge about various species, their roles in the ecosystem, and how they could be sustainably utilized without causing harm.

Despite his many contributions to conservation, Sage Walker's career was not without controversy. One significant point of contention arose from his involvement in the extermination of an invasive species that threatened local ecosystems. While this action was deemed necessary by many experts to protect native flora and fauna, it drew criticism from some who viewed it as an extreme measure that could have unforeseen consequences (or they just didn't understand what "invasive species" meant).

Additionally, Sage's support for zoos sparked debate among animal rights activists. Although he believed that well-managed zoos could play a role in education and conservation efforts—especially concerning endangered species—his endorsement was met with skepticism by those who felt that captivity was inherently detrimental to animals' well-being (despite many species today only still existing due to zoo conservation).

In addition to his work as a gourmet ingredient hunter and environmental advocate, Sage Walker was also an accomplished musician. He used music as a platform to promote messages of peace, love, and naturism—a lifestyle philosophy emphasizing living harmoniously with nature. Through his songs, he encouraged listeners to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and foster a sense of responsibility toward its preservation.

His music often featured themes related to nature—celebrating its wonders while urging people to protect it against degradation. This artistic expression resonated deeply with audiences who saw him not just as an environmentalist but also as a cultural icon reminiscent of 1960s counterculture figures like hippy gurus who advocated for peace and communal living.

"How did Sage Walker die?" asks Danjuro, while trying not to stare at his beautiful wife's exquisite form.

"According to the biography..." says Minami holding up an overpriced e-book reader and feeling like a red-haired Godiva in her current condition. "... Exhaustion Dehydration. He died of an *intimate* marathon with his seven wives."

"A note to keep Hydrated."

"I understand True Tea Master Zhang and Guru Sage Walker were friends, but what does that have to do with the test? All the other places were wild areas with minimum levels of 5, so why are we at a Nudist Colony!?" yells Kaina. She doesn't like standing around showing the world that Indigo with pink streaks is her natural hair color.

Sage Retreat is an idyllic environmentalist nudist colony that embodies the principles of sustainability and natural living. Nestled in a serene location, it features eco-friendly houses constructed from sustainable materials, harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

The retreat boasts expansive lush gardens filled with native flora, promoting biodiversity and providing habitats for local wildlife. These gardens are designed to be both beautiful and functional, featuring edible plants and herbs that reflect Sage Walker's passion for nature and conservation.

Surrounding the retreat are pristine white sandy beaches that lead to a stunning turquoise lagoon. This picturesque setting offers residents and visitors a tranquil space to relax, swim, and connect with nature while embracing naturism in a respectful and inclusive community.

Sage Retreat promotes peace, love, and respect for the environment. It serves as a sanctuary for those who share Sage Walker's vision of preserving nature's beauty for future generations. The community engages in various eco-friendly practices such as organic gardening, renewable energy use, and educational workshops on environmental conservation.

"The objective for this part of the Quest is Sage Whispering Sagebrush." says Danjuro pointing to a plant growing on the hills of the retreat.

The majestic shrub has silvery-green leaves shaped like elongated ovals, which rustle softly even when there is no wind—hence its name! Its purple blooms rise above the foliage like tiny lanterns illuminating the night sky.

"The tea produced from this sage offers earthy notes with hints of wisdom and clarity." says Danjuro, "Sage himself rescued this plant from extinction due to human overharvesting and an invasive species – Cracker Cricket."

Cracker Cricket was one of the invasive species that Sage Walker nearly wiped out. Their original habitat no longer existed due to ecological disaster and then they invaded several forests, nearly devouring them like locust swarms. According to older Gourmet Ingredient Hunters and Chefs, the Cracker Crickets didn't even taste very good – stale cracker with bland meat for the most part.

"So why do we have to be naked?"

"Retreat Rules. It used to be clothing optional, but some jerk snuck in Biscuit Bugs in his clothing, trying to ruin this place. The guy's father was a developer who wanted to build a luxury resort!"

In the Sage Retreat, the rule requiring participants to be naked stems from a past incident involving the introduction of Biscuit Bugs, an invasive species that poses a significant threat to the local ecosystem. These bugs, which are known for their sweet biscuit-like taste, were smuggled into the retreat by a visitor who attempted to bypass regulations by hiding them in his clothing. The presence of Biscuit Bugs could have led to severe ecological consequences, jeopardizing both the native flora and fauna as well as the integrity of the nature reserve.

"He suffered what they call a Flaming Honey Dip."

To prevent such incidents from occurring again, the retreat's management decided to enforce a strict no-clothing policy. This measure ensures that no one can hide harmful organisms or substances within their garments, thereby protecting the sanctuary from potential threats. The decision was made even more pressing after the incident resulted in punitive action against the individual responsible; he was covered in honey—a substance that attracts various insects—and thrown onto a nest of Flaming Hot Ants. These ants are not only known for aggressiveness and painful stings, but for their extreme spiciness. An edible gourmet option, often compared to ghost peppers due to their heat level."

"Many of the old chefs like to send their students to this retreat."

"Why?"

"One of the worst things to happen to chefs is becoming distracted during a critical moment. While a courageous chef will overcome fear through will or effort, it's much harder to overcome more pleasant distraction. A month at a nudist retreat makes a person desensitized to human flesh. The goal is making nudity as interesting as white bread."

This unconventional method serves a dual purpose: it aims to enhance focus by reducing distractions while also fostering an environment where chefs can explore their creativity without being hindered by societal norms regarding nudity and body image. It challenges traditional notions about professionalism and decorum in culinary settings.

It also makes Kaina wonder why chefs would need to desensitized against people showing skin.

Darkwood Forest

Two weeks later.

Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina stood at a safe distance, their eyes wide with disbelief as they surveyed the chaotic scene before them. The air was thick with an intoxicating aroma that wafted from the giant plant beast, its dark green leaves shimmering under the dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy above. The plant towered over five meters tall, its base nearly three meters wide, creating an imposing figure that seemed to pulse with life.

This cone-shaped monstrosity was not just a mere plant; it was a carnivorous entity that had ensnared half a dozen gourmet ingredient hunters in its grasp. The roots of the plant had erupted from the ground like serpentine tentacles, wrapping around the hunters with an unyielding grip. These dark roots were not only physically restraining them but were also releasing some kind of chemical agent that appeared to be breaking down their protective clothing—an alarming feat for garments certified by the International Gourmet Organization (IGO).

As Danjuro squinted to get a better look, he noticed how the fibers of their outfits were fraying and dissolving at an alarming rate. The hunters struggled against their bindings, but instead of focusing on escape or calling for help, they seemed entranced by the very essence of the plant itself. Their faces flushed with confusion and desire as they emitted strange noises—half moans and half gasps—that echoed eerily in the otherwise tranquil forest.

The six hunters—a mix of men and women—were caught in a bizarre state of euphoria induced by the golden sap oozing from the plant's core. This sap glistened like liquid gold, dripping slowly onto the forest floor while simultaneously drawing out primal instincts from those ensnared within its grasp. It was as if they were under some sort of spell; rather than fighting back against their predicament, they began to touch one another in ways that suggested a loss of rational thought.

Danjuro exchanged worried glances with Minami and Kaina. "We need to do something," he urged quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "They're losing themselves to whatever this thing is doing."

Euphoria Death Vine

Type: Plant Beast

Capture Level: 20*

Diet: Carnivorous

Habitat: Darkwood Forest

Overview
The Euphoria Death Vine, scientifically known as Euphormortis Liana, is a formidable plant beast classified as special grade with a capture level of 20*. Found primarily in the shadowy depths of Darkwood Forest, this carnivorous plant has evolved unique adaptations to ensnare and consume its prey.

Behavior and Mechanism

The Euphoria Death Vine emits an intoxicating scent that irresistibly attracts various mammalian creatures. This olfactory lure is not only a survival mechanism but also serves commercial purposes, being highly sought after for use in luxury perfumes. Once an unsuspecting animal approaches, the vine's specialized roots spring forth from the ground, binding the prey tightly.

Upon capture, the roots release a potent psychoactive fluid that induces overwhelming feelings of euphoria in the victim. This fluid acts as both an aphrodisiac and a sedative, making it highly valuable in biomedical research and agriculture. However, due to its powerful effects, it is classified as a controlled substance. Criminal organizations have exploited this property to manufacture narcotic Euphoria powder, further complicating its status.

Ecological Impact
The enzymes secreted by the Euphoria Death Vine's roots are particularly destructive; they not only dissolve human clothing but also eliminate competition by killing rival plants in the vicinity. This aggressive behavior allows the Euphoria Death Vine to dominate its habitat within Darkwood Forest.

Taste Profile
In terms of culinary potential, while most would be hesitant to sample such a dangerous plant beast directly due to its lethal properties, those brave enough to taste the psychoactive fluid describe it as having a sweet yet slightly bitter flavor profile with hints of floral notes reminiscent of exotic fruits. The experience is said to be euphoric but comes with significant risks due to its narcotic nature.

Danjuro thinks he needs to adjust the settings on his [Analyse] because as he levels up, he gets more and more detailed information. While it's nice to have a lot of information when facing a dangerous beast, he doesn't have time to read a giant Almanac entry.

The forest had been ravaged by frequent fires, leaving behind charred remnants of once-magnificent trees. Yet, amidst this destruction, certain plants had adapted remarkably well to their harsh environment.

Kaina's keen eyes scanned the area, searching for any signs of movement from the carnivorous vine plant that had ensnared several unfortunate souls. Its tendrils writhed like serpents, eager to ensnare anything that ventured too close. "We don't want to get caught ourselves," she said firmly, her voice steady despite the gravity of their situation. "A long-range attack would be best."

Minami nodded in agreement; her brow furrowed in concentration. "You mentioned Darkwood Forest has suffered frequent forest fires," she began, recalling her research on the area. "But higher quality ingredients have adapted to survive these conditions. How did this particular plant manage to endure?"

"I read the IGO listing for the Forest," Minami continued, her voice gaining confidence as she recalled pertinent details. "This type of plant retracts into itself when threatened and allows fire to consume its exterior layers. Even in the strongest blaze, its core remains unharmed."

Kaina's eyes widened slightly at this revelation; it was a clever survival mechanism that made direct confrontation with such a plant perilous.

With a determined look on her face, Kaina transformed her arm into a sleek rifle designed specifically for precision and power. She deftly loaded a special incendiary round into the chamber—this was no ordinary ammunition; it was crafted with care to burn only the target without igniting surrounding vegetation.

"This round is special," Kaina explained as she adjusted her stance for optimal aim. "It's designed not just to incinerate but also to minimize collateral damage." Her reputation as one of the greatest snipers in the world wasn't unfounded; she had proven herself time and again during rigorous tests that showcased her skill and control over such powerful weaponry.

Kaina took a deep breath, focusing on her target—a particularly thick tendril that seemed to pulse with malevolent energy as it held its prey captive. "I'll take out that main vine," she said decisively. "Once it's down, we can work on freeing those trapped."

Minami positioned herself behind Kaina, readying her own Quirk should things go awry. "Just be careful," she cautioned softly but firmly. "If you miss or if it doesn't go down immediately… we need an escape plan."

"Trust me," Kaina replied confidently as she steadied her aim through the scope of her rifle. The world around them faded away as all distractions were filtered out—there was only Kaina and her target now.

With a swift pull of the trigger, a sharp crack echoed through Darkwood Forest as Kaina unleashed her incendiary round towards the writhing mass of vines. The projectile flew true and struck its mark with explosive force, igniting upon impact while sparing everything else around it from flames.

As smoke billowed from where the vine had been hit, Kaina watched intently for any signs of movement from within—the moment would determine whether they could save those trapped or if they needed to retreat quickly.

The plant makes a high-pitched hissing as gas is released from its body, the plant equivalent to an animal's cry of alarm. The plant beast retracts its roots and vines, letting go of its drugged prey. The towering plant sinks into the ground until less than half a meter is above ground, the hole filling with muddy water for further fire protection.

Danjuro and Minami act quickly grabbing the six hunters on the ground and pulling them to safety before the plant can realize there isn't a forest fire and that's it's been had.

A few hours later.

The trio has found the campsite of the amorous six and tossed the barely conscious Hunters into the tents, while calling for a medical evacuation for them. Thanks to the Gamer Analyse, they can tell the six are actually three romantic couples. A married couple, an engaged couple, and the dating couple, which is why there were three tents containing both male and female items. They could leave the couple to be intimate for a few days, but while they would enjoy themselves, they wouldn't remember to use protection and the group might not be ready to have children. There is also a risk of dehydration.

After the med evac leaves, Danjuro brews some herbal tea with Ginger Fire Root he collected in the forest.

"KYAAAAAAAAH!"

...trouble.

The three as one run to where they heard the cry and find the source.

It's a young native girl with purple eyes, dark brown skin, and long indigo-colored hair with numerous scattered pink streaks. She looks like a young Kaina Tsutsumi, only not as chubby as she was when she innocent and naive enough to believe the lies of the Hero Public Safety Commission. She's dressed in native clothing made from the local fibers of Appetite Archipelago plants and decorated with sea shells from numerous white sandy beaches. Her weapon of choice is a Specialty Hunting Slingshot that looks far more advance the traditionally made slingshots used by the tribe.

She has apparently been using her slingshot against poachers.

Kuroda "Black Bean" Tsubaki

Criminal

Kuroda stands at an imposing 6'4", with a muscular build that speaks to his life as a poacher. His skin has an unusual dark green hue, reminiscent of black beans, which is a result of his Gourmet Cells enhancing his pigmentation. His hair is wild and unkempt, resembling the fronds of seaweed, and is a deep shade of black with streaks of dark purple. Kuroda's most striking feature is his elongated canines that protrude from his mouth like fangs, giving him a predatory appearance. His eyes are a piercing yellow with slit pupils, similar to those of a reptile, which adds to his intimidating presence. He wears tattered cargo pants and a sleeveless vest adorned with various trophies from his hunts, including the scales of rare beasts.

"Young Gourmet Hunters? I don't recognize any of you, so you must be newbies." says Kuroda. He then grows another three inches, his skin color darkening a couple shades, and his muscles growing and stretching his clothing. "Pick your dance partners. The silver haired butler is mine."

Yuki "Ice Queen" Shirogane

Criminal

Black Bean vs Danjuro

In a dense tropical forest, where the sunlight barely penetrates through the thick canopy of leaves, two formidable combatants face off. On one side stands Black Bean, a notorious criminal known for his dark gourmet energy and brute strength. His physique is imposing, with dark green skin that hints at his connection to nature and the culinary world. Opposite him is Danjuro, an elastic hero renowned for his agility and flexibility, equipped with years of experience in hand-to-hand combat.

The fight begins with both fighters engaging in hand-to-hand combat. Black Bean's punches are not only fast but also possess immense power, capable of shattering tree trunks with ease. Each swing of his fist sends shockwaves through the air, creating a thunderous sound that echoes throughout the forest. However, Danjuro's agility allows him to evade these powerful strikes effortlessly. He twists and bends his body in ways that seem almost impossible, dodging Black Bean's attacks while maintaining a calm demeanor.

As the battle progresses, it becomes evident that Danjuro's experience plays a crucial role in this encounter. He reads Black Bean's movements like an open book, predicting his next attack before it even happens. This gives him a significant advantage as he counters with swift jabs and kicks aimed at Black Bean's vulnerable spots.

Despite his initial confidence, Black Bean soon realizes that he is becoming fatigued. The relentless pace set by Danjuro is taking its toll on him. As he catches his breath, he notices something peculiar about Danjuro's movements; they seem to be sapping his energy gradually. It dawns on him that Danjuro is employing some sort of technique designed to weaken him over time.

Determined to turn the tide of battle in his favor, Black Bean decides to unleash one of his signature moves.

"Devouring Fangs!"

With a fierce determination burning in his eyes, Black Bean channels his dark gourmet energy into fang-shaped projections that erupt from his limbs like thorns from a cactus. These spiked appendages give him an intimidating appearance reminiscent of both a pinecone and a cactus—dangerous yet oddly organic.

He launches himself at Danjuro with newfound ferocity, using these spiked limbs to force Danjuro into evasive maneuvers. The air crackles with tension as each thrust of Black Bean's spiked arms creates gusts strong enough to rattle nearby foliage.

In an explosive display of speed and power, Black Bean transforms into a spinning missile—his body covered in sharp projections—as he drills toward Danjuro. The sheer velocity behind this attack makes it difficult for even someone as agile as Danjuro to evade entirely.

Just as it seems that Black Bean has gained the upper hand, Danjuro demonstrates why he is considered one of the best heroes around. With impeccable timing and reflexes honed through years of training, he performs an acrobatic flip just inches away from being struck by the spinning projectile.

However, despite narrowly escaping serious injury, Danjuro feels the rush of wind created by Black Bean's attack as it tears through several trees behind him—leaving them splintered and uprooted in its wake. A piece of debris grazes Danjuro's shirt, tearing it slightly but leaving him unharmed otherwise.

Realizing that he must adapt quickly if he hopes to survive this onslaught, Danjuro uses his elasticity not just defensively but offensively as well. He stretches out one arm towards Black Bean while simultaneously launching himself forward with incredible speed.

As they continue their clash amidst the chaos of fallen trees and flying debris, both fighters begin to exhibit signs of fatigue—Black Bean from exerting so much energy on powerful attacks and Danjuro from constantly evading those strikes while trying to find openings for counterattacks.

Danjuro then employs a strategy based on misdirection; using feints and sudden changes in direction to confuse Black Bean further while looking for an opportunity to strike back effectively without getting caught by those deadly spikes again.

With every moment passing in this intense battle between brute strength and agile finesse, both warriors push their limits—each determined not just to win but also to prove themselves against their formidable opponent.

Ice Queen vs Minami

The battle between Ice Queen Yuki and Minami unfolds in a vibrant jungle, where the air is thick with humidity and the sunlight filters through the dense canopy, creating a kaleidoscope of colors on the forest floor. The tension is palpable as both combatants prepare to unleash their unique powers.

Yuki stands poised, her icy blue eyes glinting with determination. With a swift motion, she gathers moisture from the air, causing tiny ice crystals to swirl around her like a blizzard. In an instant, she launches a barrage of meter-long ice shards at near supersonic speeds. Each shard cuts through the air with a chilling whistle, leaving trails of icy mist that shimmer in the sunlight.

Minami, with her fiery crimson hair flowing like liquid fire, senses the impending attack. She channels her energy into her hair, which crackles and whips through the air faster than sound itself. As the ice shards approach, she deftly maneuvers her hair to intercept them mid-flight. The impact creates a series of explosive bursts as ice shatters into glittering fragments that rain down harmlessly around her.

Not one to be deterred by Minami's counterattack, Yuki shifts tactics. She slams her hands onto the ground, sending ripples of frost spreading outward. The earth responds with jagged ice spikes erupting from beneath Minami's feet like deadly flowers blooming in winter. However, Minami anticipates this move; she leaps gracefully into the canopy above, using her agility to navigate through branches and vines.

From her elevated position, Minami surveys Yuki below and decides to turn the tables. She gathers small twigs and branches around her and channels her hair's power into them, launching them like shuriken towards Yuki. The projectiles zip through the air with precision.

Yuki reacts quickly; she conjures an intricate shield made of thin but incredibly hard ice that glimmers under the sun's rays. The twigs collide against it like raindrops on glass but fail to penetrate its surface. However, Yuki knows that defense alone won't secure victory; she must go on the offensive again.

With a flick of her wrist, Yuki sends out tendrils of ice that snake along the ground toward Minami's position in an attempt to ensnare her in a frozen grip. But Minami is ready—she uses her hair not just for offense but also for mobility; it extends and wraps around nearby branches as she swings herself higher into the trees.

As Yuki prepares another assault by forming massive icicles overhead aimed directly at Minami's last known position, Minami executes a daring maneuver: she dives straight down from above while spinning gracefully in mid-air. Her hair whips outwards like a tornado as she descends rapidly towards Yuki.

In this moment of chaos and beauty combined, Minami unleashes a double punch enhanced by her hair's kinetic energy just as she lands beside Yuki. The force is tremendous—Yuki is caught off guard and sent flying across the clearing with such velocity that she crashes through several of her own ice spikes before coming to rest against a tree trunk.

Spicy & Savory vs Kaina.

In the heart of a lush tropical forest, where the vibrant greens are punctuated by bursts of color from exotic flowers and the air is thick with humidity, Kaina finds herself facing off against two formidable villains: Spicy and Savory. The tension in the air is palpable as the sun filters through the dense canopy above, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Savory notices Kaina's eyes narrowing at his knives.

"Melk signature Knives. These babies were carved from the fangs of Gourmet Beast with a Capture Level of a 1,000. They used to belong to a BBQ chef until I carved her up and her Hunter husband. They can slice through any armor and turn people into meals." says Savory proudly, showcasing his sadism and madness.

As Spicy unleashes a fiery blast, his glowing burn-like markings pulsate with energy, creating an almost mesmerizing display of flames that dance around him. The heat radiates outward, causing leaves to curl and smoke to rise. However, Kaina remains calm amidst the chaos. She focuses her breathing, drawing upon her wind manipulation abilities to create a barrier of swirling air around her. With a graceful motion akin to a dancer's pirouette, she disperses the fire blast into harmless embers that rain down like fireflies.

Seizing the moment of distraction caused by Spicy's attack, Savory lunges forward with his knives glinting menacingly in the filtered sunlight. His movements are a blur; he embodies raw speed and ferocity as he aims for Kaina with precision strikes that could cleave through stone. Yet Kaina anticipates his approach. Utilizing her wind manipulation not just defensively but offensively, she creates gusts that alter her trajectory mid-dodge.

As Savory slashes at her with blinding speed, Kaina sidesteps gracefully, allowing his blades to slice through empty air while simultaneously redirecting some of that wind pressure back at him. This unexpected counter sends Savory stumbling slightly off-balance—a rare misstep for such a skilled combatant.

In the heart of the tropical forest, Kaina harnesses the essence of her surroundings, moving with fluid grace as if she were a leaf dancing in the wind. As Spicy unleashes a torrent of flames and Savory moves so fast it looks like he hurls a flurry of knives, Kaina remains unfazed, her focus unwavering.

With a swift pivot, she channels the principles of Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm), a martial art known for its circular movements and evasive footwork. As she steps forward, her body flows like water, evading the fiery onslaught while simultaneously positioning herself strategically against her foes.

Kaina executes a series of rapid spins and palm strikes that create an invisible barrier around her. Each movement is precise and deliberate; she draws upon the energy of the earth beneath her feet to enhance her agility. In one fluid motion, she redirects Spicy's flames back towards him by using a palm strike that sends shockwaves through the air. The flames engulf him as he is propelled backward, his own fire consuming him in an ironic twist.

Simultaneously, Kaina anticipates Savory's next move. With another graceful turn, she extends her arm in a sweeping arc that disrupts Savory's balance. The force generated from this motion knocks Savory's knives out of his hands, sending them spiraling harmlessly into the underbrush.

The culmination of this attack leaves Spicy disoriented and scorched by his own flames while Savory stands weaponless and vulnerable. Kaina stands poised amidst the chaos, embodying both serenity and strength.

Sweet Tooth vs Village Girl

"What's your name, sweetie?"

"Kiania Lani" says the girl with a slight accent. Her name "Beloved Heaven" or "Heavenly Beloved.", but with her glare she's ready to unleash Hell on Sweet Tooth.

"Ah, Kiania! What a delightful little morsel you are! Just look at you—so full of life and sweetness, like the ripest fruit hanging from the branches above us. You know, I have a penchant for all things sugary and scrumptious, but there's something about children that makes my heart flutter with glee. Perhaps it's their innocence or their untainted joy in this dreary world. But enough about me; let's talk about you!'

'You see, I'm on a quest—a quest for the sweetest treasures this world has to offer. And right now, my dear Kiania, you are at the top of my list! But don't fret; I'm not here to gobble you up… yet. No, no! That would be far too easy and oh-so-boring! Instead, I'm offering you a chance—a sweet deal if you will."

Sweet Tooth is making her offer when Kiania tosses a Blazemelon at her.

Blazemelon

Type: Plant

Capture Level: 1-10*

Diet: Photosynthesis.

Habitat: 400 Fruit Forest

The Blazemelon is a striking dark red fruit found in the lush 400 Fruit Forest. This unique plant boasts a sweet, juicy pulp that undergoes fermentation, producing a highly flammable alcoholic substance. Local inhabitants skillfully utilize the fermented contents for both fuel and crafting special adult beverages. However, caution is paramount; as the melon ages, gases accumulate within, increasing the risk of explosive bursts if mishandled. The Blazemelon's vibrant color and potent properties make it a fascinating yet dangerous addition to the forest's diverse ecosystem.

Sweet Tooth catches the Blazemelon with ease using her ability to create a substance resembling cotton candy with the properties of gum and rubber. It's like a game to her and she holds up the Blazemelon with a child-like smile, but then she notices a fiery dart shot from Kiania Lani's slingshot. The dart pierces the melon and there is a fiery explosion. Hana "Sweet Tooth" Mochizuki's fiery form is sent flying into the woods, leaving a trail fire, ash, and pink fabric.

Kiania Lani's eyes don't leave Sweet Tooth's form. She's not risking the Huntress faking being defeated.

With a fierce determination burning in his eyes, Danjuro Tobita channels all his energy into one final strike. "Plus Ultra!" he shouts, his voice echoing with the weight of his resolve. He launches himself off the ground, utilizing his Quirk to create an elastic rebound that propels him upward like a coiled spring.

As he ascends, time seems to slow. The world around him blurs, and all that exists is the target before him—Black Bean, the poacher whose reign of terror is about to end. With precision and power, Danjuro executes an uppercut reminiscent of the legendary Shoryuken from Street Fighter. His fist glows with kinetic energy as it connects with Black Bean's chin.

The impact is explosive; a shockwave reverberates through the air as Danjuro's punch tears through Black Bean's defenses. The force sends a spray of blood and shattered teeth flying in every direction, painting the ground crimson. Kuroda's body crumples under the sheer brutality of the blow, collapsing to the earth like a marionette with its strings cut.

As he lies motionless on the ground, there's a haunting stillness in the aftermath—a testament to Danjuro's strength and resolve. The villain is left unconscious, possibly facing severe spinal damage from the devastating uppercut that marked the end of his criminal career.

A few meters away, Yuki watches as the ice around her shatters as her ice manipulating powers fail her. Yuki stares at Minami with many bloody injuries including red hairs piercing her body like needles. She then reaches her limit and falls unconscious defeated.

A few meters away, the knife master Jiro and fire master Riku are both broken and unconscious on the ground near Kaina. Riku looks like burnt chicken nugget, while Jiro looks like someone used him as a punching bag.

A few meters away, Kiania Lani looks down at Hana who is still smoking and unconscious on the ground.

For several months, these skilled hunters have been on a quest to locate and procure various forms of tea, a task set forth by the enigmatic True Tea Master Zhang. This mission is not merely about gathering ingredients; it serves as a rigorous test of their abilities, resilience, and moral compass.

Throughout their journey, Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina have encountered numerous challenges that extend beyond mere culinary exploration. They have faced off against poachers and criminals who threaten both the delicate ecosystems they traverse and the lives of innocent beings—both human and animal alike. Their latest confrontation took place on 400 Fruit Island, a locale known for its rich biodiversity but also for harboring nefarious activities.

The aftermath of this intense battle was marked by an unusual influx of authorities from both local police forces and the International Gourmet Organization (IGO). These officials were drawn to the island not only because of the criminal activities that had unfolded but also due to the remarkable feats displayed by the Gourmet Hunters. During their debriefing sessions with law enforcement, Danjuro noticed an intriguing individual among them—a detective endowed with a unique Quirk that allowed him to discern truth from deception. Despite this potential threat to their honesty, Danjuro, Minami, and Kaina remained unfazed; they understood that sometimes reality can be more bizarre than fiction itself.

As investigations progressed, it became evident that the poachers they had apprehended were part of a larger syndicate responsible for multiple crimes across various regions. With substantial evidence gathered during their encounters on 400 Fruit Island, these criminals were destined for lengthy prison sentences. The trio's efforts not only contributed to justice being served but also highlighted their growing reputation as formidable protectors within this culinary landscape.

Kiania Lani's history was also revealed to Kaina, Danjuro, and Minami.

Kiania Lani is a character deeply rooted in the rich lore of the 400 Fruit Forest, an island known for its unique biodiversity and culinary treasures. Her story intertwines with themes of cultural heritage, strength, and the complexities of tribal politics. Born into a world where her lineage as the daughter of a chef carries significant weight, Kiania's life has been marked by both privilege and adversity.

Years before Kiania's birth, a renowned Gourmet Hunter, known as a Bishoku-ya, arrived on the island. This individual was not merely a seeker of rare ingredients but also an explorer eager to understand the local customs and culinary practices. His time spent with Kiania's tribe allowed him to forge deep connections with its people, particularly with Kiania's mother, who was celebrated for her exceptional cooking skills. Their romance blossomed amidst shared meals and cultural exchanges, leading to Kiania's conception.

However, this union was fraught with complications. The tribe had longstanding traditions that dictated marriage alliances between tribes to maintain peace and power dynamics. Kiania's mother was expected to marry the son of another tribe's leader—a union that would strengthen ties between their peoples. When it became clear that she had chosen love over duty, tensions escalated within the community.

As political pressures mounted, Kiania's father faced backlash from his own people for defying tradition. The situation culminated in a violent coup led by those loyal to the old ways; they forced him off the island under threat of death. This betrayal left Kiania's mother alone to raise her daughter in an environment that increasingly ostracized them both.

Kiania was born under tragic circumstances—her mother died during childbirth due to complications exacerbated by societal neglect and lack of medical resources on the island. From her earliest days, she bore the stigma of being an unwanted child; her very existence was a reminder of her mother's defiance against tribal norms.

As Kiania grew older, it became apparent that she possessed extraordinary abilities attributed to her high concentration of Gourmet Cells—more than any other child on the island. These cells granted her enhanced physical attributes: greater size, strength, speed, and agility compared to her peers. While these traits could have been seen as gifts or advantages in hunting and gathering food from their lush surroundings, they instead instilled fear among her fellow tribespeople.

Her unique capabilities made her an outcast rather than a leader or protector; many viewed her as a potential threat rather than an asset. The fear intensified when news reached them about the annihilation of their rival tribe at the hands of a criminal associated with Gourmet Corp—a group notorious for exploiting gourmet ingredients through violence and treachery.

In light of this tragedy, Kiania found herself increasingly isolated from her community. The elders began whispering about prophecies foretelling doom brought upon by those who wielded too much power without wisdom or restraint. As whispers turned into open hostility, she learned to navigate life as both an outsider within her own home and as someone burdened by expectations she never asked for.

Despite this isolation, Kiania developed resilience through self-reliance and determination. She honed her skills in cooking—transforming what could have been mere survival into art—and began exploring deeper connections with nature around her. Her affinity for food not only served as sustenance but also became a means for healing both herself and others who were willing to accept her back into their fold.

After hearing her life story, Kaina decide to the adopt the girl, taking her to be a Gourmet Hunter in the outside world far from the island.

The current Chef of the 400 Fruit Forest Island also agreed, after screaming in terror and nearly fainting when he saw Kaina. Apparently, Meleana – Kiania's late mother – and Kaina looked almost identical with the exception of Meleana's darker native skin and her hair lacking Kaina's pink highlights. The Chef was terrified that Meleana had risen from the grave to get revenge for her daughter's treatment. Apparently, Meleana was also skilled with firearms, which the very angry pregnant woman demonstrated before Kiania's birth.

Spice-based Herbal Teas: This includes teas that incorporate spices such as cinnamon or cardamom.

Spice Road

1 Month Later

The Gourmet Spice Road is a sprawling network that weaves through the diverse landscapes of Toriko's Earth, serving as both a vital artery for trade and a migratory path for gourmet beasts. This road is not merely a physical route; it embodies the essence of culinary adventure and peril, where every twist and turn offers new opportunities and threats.

The road traverses various terrains, from lush forests filled with exotic flora to arid deserts where survival hinges on resourcefulness. Each region along the Gourmet Spice Road boasts unique ecosystems that support an array of gourmet beasts—creatures whose very existence is intertwined with the culinary arts. For instance, in the verdant valleys, one might encounter the elusive Gourmet Fruit Bat, known for its sweet nectar that enhances dishes beyond imagination. Conversely, in the rocky highlands, hunters may face off against the formidable Ironhide Boar, whose tough exterior makes it a prized catch but also a dangerous adversary.

As merchants traverse this road, they encounter a tapestry of cultures. Towns and villages dotting the landscape are inhabited by diverse groups of people—each with their own culinary traditions and specialties. The locals often serve as guides or informants to travelers, sharing secrets about hidden ingredients or safe passages through treacherous areas. Festivals celebrating local harvests attract traders from far and wide, creating vibrant marketplaces brimming with spices, rare ingredients, and gourmet delicacies.

The flora along the Gourmet Spice Road is as varied as its fauna. Towering spice trees produce aromatic bark that can be harvested for cooking or medicinal purposes. Fields of vibrant herbs sway in the breeze, each possessing unique properties that can enhance flavors or provide health benefits. However, these natural wonders come with risks; some plants are carnivorous or toxic if consumed improperly.

The fauna includes not only gourmet beasts but also predatory creatures that pose threats to unwary travelers. The presence of these predators creates an environment where caution is paramount; even seasoned merchants must remain vigilant against ambushes from creatures like the Shadowfang Tiger, known for its stealth and speed.

Danjuro is looking down at container and he and his friends ride in the back of a truck. It contains the last Ingredient for Zhang's test. Bright orange cinnamon sticks.

"Koritsa tleyushchaya kora derevo?"

Danjuro raises his head at the Russian words.

"Cinnamon Ember Bark Tree? Ah, yes, I know it. Not much demand for that, da? Only those fancy tea drinkers care about it, so I think Zhang is the one interested. Most Hunters, they fail his tests, you know? It's tough business out here." asks another Gourmet Hunter. He's a very tall, very muscular, and slightly overweight Gourmet Hunter with shoulder-length curly black hair, a thick beard on his weathered face, thick eyebrows, and dark sunglasses protecting his chocolate brown eyes. He's dressed in standard IGO-rated protective clothing meant the for the season and environment of the Spice Road. He also has a pronounced Russian accent.

Russia exists in Toriko's Earth, but it's different because of the Gourmet Age. In Gourmet Russia, Food is for Everyone and Everyone is Fed. Gourmet Russia has many wonderous ingredients like Tsar's Caviar – a rare type of caviar harvested from ancient fish species found only in the depths of Lake Baikal and Frostfire Peppers - peppers grown in volcanic soil near active geysers, offering a fiery kick that can elevate any dish to legendary status.

Cinnamon Ember Bark Tree (Корица Тлеющая Кора Дерево): This tree boasts thick trunks covered in textured bark resembling charred wood; its branches twist upward dramatically while curling inward at tips—creating natural alcoves perfect for resting weary travelers! Bright orange cinnamon sticks hang downwards like ornaments during harvest season; brewing them results in warm spiced teas evoking cozy fireside gatherings!

"Oh, forgive me, I forget my manners! The name is Korolenko. Yes, yes, Korolenko Zakharyevich Koriandrov, da!" says the man sounding very friendly.

"The name is Danjuro Tobita, this is my wife Minami, and our sniper friend Kaina."

"Ah, so why you are staring at the cinnamon sticks, da? You see, my friend, they remind me of home. The warmth, the spice… it brings back memories of babushka's kitchen, yes? I cannot help but admire their beauty. Such a simple thing, yet so full of flavor and history. It is like looking into the soul of winter, no? Tell me, do you not feel the same?"

"Not really. The trip was long, but we got the spice easily enough. We encountered Gourmet beasts and criminals on every other part of the trip. I was wondering why we didn't encounter something different." says Danjuro

"Ah, you should not tempt fate, young man. You complain the world is boring, da? It might take offense, yes, and send something… how you say… interesting your way. Like a spice worm, two-hundred meters long! Very big, yes? You think it is easy to deal with such beast? No, no! Better to appreciate quiet days, my friend." says Korolenko.

"Why did you pick a two-hundred-meter-long spice worm?" asks Minami.

Korolenko points to the colossal worm now chasing them.

Emperor Spice Worm

Type: Worm Beast (variant)

Capture Level: 80

Diet: Omnivorous (extreme)

Habitat: Spice Road

The spice worm is a colossal, serpentine creature that stretches an impressive 200 meters in length. Its body is covered in iridescent scales that shimmer with vibrant colors, reflecting the various spices it consumes. The worm's skin is segmented, allowing for fluid movement as it burrows through the earth and navigates the terrain of the Gourmet Spice Road.

This beast possesses multiple rows of sharp, crystalline teeth designed to shred through tough vegetation and other gourmet beasts. Its eyes are large and multifaceted, providing excellent vision even in low light conditions. The spice worm emits a pungent aroma reminiscent of exotic spices, which can attract other creatures or confuse its prey.

As a Gourmet Beast CL 80, it has heightened senses and remarkable agility despite its size. It can camouflage itself within its surroundings by blending in with the landscape, making it a formidable predator. When threatened or provoked, the spice worm can unleash a cloud of spicy dust from specialized glands along its body, disorienting foes and creating chaos.

In pursuit of the convoy, this spice worm moves with surprising speed for its size, undulating through the ground like a wave while leaving behind a trail of disturbed earth and aromatic spice residue.

Minami punches her husband in the arm for tempting fate.

"Ah, do not worry, my dear Minami! I am Korolenko Zakharyevich Koriandrov, the greatest Gourmet Hunter in all of Russia! This worm? Ha! It is nothing but a spicy snack for me!"

With a fierce grin and a glint in his eye, he continues, "You see, I have trained my whole life for this moment. When I was just small boy, my babushka would say to me, 'Korolenko, you must eat your meat if you want to be strong!' And now look at me—strong like bear!"

As he launches himself into the air, he shouts back to the trio, "I will show this worm what real power tastes like! Prepare your taste buds for the MEAT SAUSAGE!"

The trio have a WTF look on their faces as the Russian tears through the colossal worm like a bullet through an Earthworm.
