Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, the triple showdown for the three Elements began. Despite any effort from the Dark Knights, the Elements of Earth, Wind, and Electricity were claimed by Supergirl, Superman, and Martian Manhunter respectively. As the trio of Dark Knights departed to better strategize, the heroes involved knew they needed to rendezvous at the D.E.O. to start training up the newly Elementally charged superheroes. So, what awaits? Read on to discover...
(Our scene resumes in the skies over National City, where Supergirl and Spyro can be seen heading towards a large office building. Upon stepping into the lobby, they meet up with Cynder, Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Flash. Acknowledging each other, they take an elevator down into the basement and soon come face to face with Batwoman, White Canary, Black Lightning, and the rest of the Legends and the Superfriends.)
Martian Manhunter: Everybody, welcome to the Department for Extranormal Operations, or D.E.O. for short.
Sentinel: If you're looking for a place to handle the strange bits of reality, this is the place.
Spyro: A good thing too, because if your elemental misadventures went anything like ours did, we're going to need this place ready.
Martian Manhunter: The training facilities have been fortified since we arrived. They should be able to handle whatever these Elements can throw at them.
Superman: So you became host to an Element too, J'onn?
Supergirl: You both did?
Cynder: (Looking to Spyro) I guess we did have similar misadventures.
Spyro: Let's slow down for a second, and figure out what exactly we're working with. I know Kara here is now host for the Element of Earth, but what about J'onn and Superman?
Cynder: We got to the University and the place looked like it had been torn apart by a tornado. Which only confirmed which Element we were tracking down and Superman has now become host to. The Element of Wind.
Flash: Meanwhile, we found the Element of Electricity in the R&D department of LuthorCorp. And after fighting his alternate brother, J'onn is now it's host.
Lena Luthor: Before we go any further, with your permission, Spyro, I'd like to study this Element of Electricity. It could be useful in developing a new energy source.
Toyman: Good luck with that. There's no mana to fuel the reaction anywhere near here.
Lena Luthor: Now you've got to be kidding me.
Mxyzptlk: No, kid's right.
Lena Luthor: Still, we can probably figure something.
Spyro: Maybe once this madness is over.
Cynder: But for now, we've got training to do. I'll take Superman and show him what I know about Wind.
Spyro: Then I'll take Kara and J'onn under my wings for Earth and Electricity.
Black Lightning: I hate to intrude, but I think I might be of assistance with J'onn here. (Forms a pulse of static electricity between his hands) Manipulating Electricity is sort of my thing.
Spyro: To be honest, I'd be happy to have the help. Volteer taught me a lot about Electricity as an Element, but he talks about two miles every half minute. It'd probably be a good thing to have a second expert behind me. An exchange of methods never hurt.
Black Lightning: Agreed. Any opportunity to learn is usually a good one.
Zari Tomaz: I'll go with Cynder then. Air manipulation is in my wheelhouse.
Cynder: To be honest, Zari, that sounds like a good idea. Like the rest of my Elements, Wind can get tough to explain. It'll be helpful to have someone check my mental notes.
Zari Tomaz: Happy to do what I can.
Spyro: Then it's settled, let's get to training.
Flash: The rest of us will try and locate where the Dark Knights are operating out of in the meantime.
Cynder: Agreed. Now let's get to work. (Looks around) Um... where are the training rooms again? I know we never got the formal tour.
Martian Manhunter: Don't worry, just follow me. It's just down the hall and one floor below us.
Sentinel: Isn't that the lockup?
Martian Manhunter: (Remembers) Right, two floors down. Thanks, Alex.
Sentinel: No problem, Director.
Spyro: Director?
Martian Manhunter: I'm kind of in charge of the D.E.O. At least, this version of it.
Cynder: Nice.
Martian Manhunter: But enough about me, we haven't a moment to lose, I'd bet.
Spyro: Not even remotely. Let's get to work.
(And with that, the group splits up, Spyro, Cynder, Supergirl, Superman, Martian Manhunter, Black Lightning, and Zari Tomaz heading towards the lower levels while Flash takes the rest of the League, the Legends, and the Superfriends to locate the Dark Knights, as our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for now. Next time, the triple training session begins. So, how are our three Leaguers going to take to Element training?
