Chapter 2: The Impure & The Sealed

The warp needed a moment to complete but it did it's job and took us right to the place Roxy had in mind for us...Which I would've said if we weren't in this massive cave...I looked up at him with a lost look and he jumped back with a wide-eyed expression, sucking in his lips. "(W-what the hell, Rox?! How is it that I've ran of mana this fast?! There's no way getting back and forth like that would happen! He'll think Im a fraud and a coward in no time! I gotta come up with something! Think, Rox! Thin- ;;;;;;)" Roxford was panicking in his head, "Are you out of magic or...?" I was asking, "(Here goes nothing!) *points at me* HAH! That must be it! *stuns me with a surprised face* You must be a Cursed Pure Mage!" he abruptly claims, "Im...Cursed? Since when? ~. ~" I asked, "*spins the other way with fingers to forehead* That remains to me known...*spins back around, pointing to me again* However! With you being Cursed, you've made me use far more mana than necessary to take us to Cryselle's house! Now we have to find for ourselves from this point on until my mana comes back to me!" he tells me, "Hmm. That's pretty bad then. I guess I really am Cursed. Sorry about that" I comply, "*marches in place the other way* No worries. I just have to work up a good sweat, find some food and we're ready to go again. Giving you some basics on using magic wouldn't hurt too! (If only I knew where to go...TTVTT)" he told me, making me follow him. I did find it pretty weird that if I really am Cursed, why didnt he tell me? He knew what'd happen if he used warp magic on me if I am Cursed...But wait! I must be! I absorbed a bit of Tori's magic when we were in bed! Could that be a Cursed thing too? That much makes sense when I put it that way. I guess too that I'll have to have some contact to someone for it it to work, or in this case, interact with someone's magic. That sounds Cursed enough to me.

The paths were somewhat long and dark, with even darker paths we could take but neither of us wanted to. There were some loud growls we could hear from those areas so that didnt help either. Things were going smoothly for us until a few enemies illuminated themselves once we got close enough. "*sees a rotating handle on the side of one of the monsters* What is that...? *sees a shot jet past my face and another shooting at Roxford; turns to him* Roxy! Look ou-! *sees him take it to the face, knocking his head backwards* ROXY!" I shouted in worry, "*drops to one knee, hunches over; raises head revealing a big bloody spot in the middle of brows and forehead* Gynnn! They're really coming for us, are they? *looks behind, seeing a big stack of mold layers with an eye above it [Moldbygg]* Look behind you!" Roxford warns, "! *sees the mold monster and rolls out of the way of it's shots* Why're they attacking? We didnt do anything" I asked, "It's best to just avoid their attacks. Neither of us can use any magic now..*coughs; sees ahead, noticing the two monsters with a round body and a water container with a duckie inside for a head, always rotating it's handle [Woshua], with another Moldbygg behind them* (Damn! This is pretty bad..Can we even dodge all their attacks and not end up too bruised?) *gets shot by three water bullets, hitting both legs, falls* GHHNNN!" he groans loudly, "Roxy, no! Can you still get up and dodge?!" I asked, "Wwwwosh u legs! Wosh u SOUL!" one of the Woshuas said. This cant be happening..Are we really about to be taken out by these things? But this is too soon...I cant die here! "Stop it..." I lowly said, "Wosh?" a Woshua asked, "*a stream of plasmic, baterial shots came from behind me but get neutralized upon touching my white barrier* I SAID STOP IT! O O" I loudly demanded, shooting away the four foes with a dozen light beams from my body, blowing them away into the darkness. "(Wha...What the hell did he...? That was a really strong light magic attack he did! All because he got angry?)" Roxford thought, "Ugh! Like, what was that?!" we heard, "! *looks up, seeeing a big plane with a pink hat hovering above us [TsunderPlane]* W-wait..Dont tell me it just...Talked o O" I react, "Ruuude! You act like you never seen a talking plane before! We have, like, feelings too, yknow! Not that I care, of course!" TsunderPlane told me, "Where would I even find things like you?! *hears her revving her engines* (D-don't tell me she's getting ready to attack! o_o;) *tries to cast out a hand, flexing the arm* Hmmmmm! (Oh no, nothing's coming out! Did I use up all of my magic just now? I know I cant take a hit from a plane like her! o;)" I shouted in my head in panic. The big female plane jets herself into me, however, she was suddenly stopped by a wall of webs. "Uh uh uuuh~" we heard from another female's voice, "*looks ahead, seeing a spider-girl stepping out of the darkness* Muffy! Im so happy to see you ! How'd you know we were gonna be here?" Roxford asked her, "That's Muffet, Rox! Dont embarrass me in front of your friend already! Just look at how weak you look! *looks up at TsunderPlane, tiring herself out in the series of webs above* I saw how weird it was that one of these were flying outside of where it's supposed to be so I followed her. Who knew it'd lead to you" Muffet explained, "T-these webs are really strong! I dont need your help. I can get out of these on my own!" TsunderPlane was insisting, "*sips a cup of tea* You're lucky Im not in a sour mood today or I would've balled you into an 10 inch bunch and sold you off for scraps. So I'll do this much for you" Muffet replied and webbed her big body in a cluster of webs before one-handedly swinging her backwards into the far distance. Wow, I cant believe how strong this Muffet girl is! I bet Roxy wishes he had all his mana back now. "It looks I have to babysit you whenever you go out after all, Rox. You'll never be 'Arcane King' at this rate" Muffet told him, "Shhshhh, he doesnt need to know about- .;" Roxford was saying, "How much have you been lying about at this point? - -" I asked, "He has a nasty habit of doing that. Look at how it almost got him killed. He ran out of mana again, didnt he?" she quickly figured out, "Here, let's...At least get a staff for him before we head home.._ _|||||" Roxford requested of her, who let him lead the way after she rolled her eyes. Why would she put up with him if he gets this weak this fast? Maybe because there aren't any spider boys around? Beats me. Well at least the travel will be really easy now.

Quickly we came across a merchant in the cave, who sells us a few snacks, bought with Roxy's money. Soon after we follow two shirted pups down this path, leading to a bunch more of them as they played around with a platinum staff. "What're the odds? It looks better than that bat you call a cane at your place" Muffet said, "It's a staff too! It's just that...It's just used is all! V;" Roxford told her,"*walks up to them, kneeling* Hey there lil' guys. Mind letting me have that? I could use a staff as neat as this ^u^" I requested, "Mine mine! Temmie will let have with Temmie Flakes!" it said back, "W-whoa, so you talk too? O-ok then. Those shouldn't be hard to- *sees a bag of flakes thrown to them and they rip it open and ate out of it; reaches and picks up the staff* When'd you have a bag like that?" I asked her, "Some of the monsters here like collecting them for some reason, but look, I got a shop to get back to soon, so let's hurry this up" Muffet said, "Y-yes ma'am. Can you warp us now, Roxy?" I asked him, "Yep! Im ready now!" he affirms confidently, clamping his hands together and warpping us out of there to a desired location. The next instant, we were in front of a big wooly house in the middle of a village of a handful of houses. We enter inside and see Roxy's sister, scratching on the wall, carving symbols into each mark.

"[?] Oh! Look who's here. You even got a friend for us!"

"This is a cozy place you have, miss. ouo"

"[Roxford] I brought him here so you can help bring his magic out, Cryselle. He's a Pure Mage."

"[Cryselle] *GASP* He is?! I haven't seen one of those in months!"

"Months? Why is that? Do you not go out much?"

"[Roxford] Other way around, kid. She loves it outside. Just wouldn't wanna waste her mana wastelanding everything."

"[Cryselle] Well I am known as the Arcane Claw after all. Anything out there knows should think twice before messing with me. UwU"

"[Muffet] Everything except me, of course. \\u/"

"[Cryselle] May I remind you that I dont practice my skills at all? Once I do, I'll squash you like the bug you are!"

"[Muffet] You thought you were the Arcane Queen last time you said that to me."

"Roxy didnt look so hot out there when he ran out of magic. I tried protecting us and ran out too."

"[Cryselle] *siiiighs* I always gotta remind him to be careful with his output."

"[Roxford] Yeah they were pretty tough and I got- *looks down at shins, seeing that legs are fully healed* (But I was...Only slightly hit by the light..)"

"He said I was Cursed."

"[Roxford] ! (He actually remember I told him that!?)"

"[Cryselle] Hmmmmm - -...Yeah, you must be an Impure Mage then."

"[Roxford] (Phew..I wasnt too off the mark. I really wasnt sure.)"

"What even are those?"

"[Cryselle] Pure Mages are like White ones, who usually only use healing and holy magic, but Pure ones also use Light magic, strengthening and restoration spells."

"[Roxford] They can also fly and remove curses."

"Huh, they sound incredibly good. Why dont I ever see any?"

"[Cryselle] It can be hard to keep a routine unique to Pure Mages, to keep their purities in tact. Aside from that, they have to be virgins."

"...Oh. "

"[Roxford] Wait, you aren't!? No wonder you're cursed!"

"So ones that aren't virgins are cursed?"

"[Roxford] Well...Only the ones that were Pure Mages.."

"[Cryselle] You could also be inflicted with Curses by an Impure or Dark Mage."

"It's impossible to be a Cursed Pure one then?"

"[Cryselle] Heheh, no one wants to go through those routines to be one. It's practically 5 times the work of a normal one"

"I wanna at least try it."

"[Cryselle] Alriiiiight. I can show you but dont say I didnt warn ya. 3"

"[Roxford] I'll join you two. I can give him some tips here and there. You just focus on giving him your mana after the basics."

"[Muffet] You guys seem to be good from here. Call me when you need me again, Roxy."

"*giggles* I thought I was the only one that called you Roxy. /u\"

"[Roxford] I never said it was ok for you to call me that..Isnt Rox easier to say anyway?!"

"Hmm. I guess it is. _ _"

"[Roxford] Then just say that!"

"[Cryselle] Are you sure he isn't with you...Roxy? TwT"

"[Roxford] Dont even joke about that, sis...=V="

"[Cryselle] Alright, kid. Meet me in the back!" she told me before opening the silding door to the backyard. Her outfit is really white. More white than Roxy's, especially with all that purple he has on his robe with his brown scarf. Maybe she's one of the last Pure Mages, if not she used to be one. Oh yeah if she's called the Arcane Claw, his sis must fight up close with her magic. Im getting the feeling she's pretty bored being here at home, so let's make it exciting for her ouo! Their backyard's pretty spacious, with two trailer vehicles and three glowing, rocky figures that towered over them. That must be alot of...What'd Roxy call it? Mana? Yeah, they must hold lots of mana in them. "So you were gonna tell me about Impure Mages? Are you by chance one yourself, Crysie?" I asked, "...I'll be honest with you. I cant do any magic attacks" Cryselle told me, "H-huh? Why not? /o.o\" I asked, "Im...Cursed too..It's sealed most of my magic powers and...I'd need the help of a Pure Mage to get rid of it. I was hoping you were one but.." Cryselle was explaining, "Oh...Im so sorry to hear that" I replied, "But what I can do is give you my mana. My mana capacity is 20 times bigger than lil' bro over here" she further explained, "Way to rub it in, sis...But she's right. I'll have to begin initial the routine so you can start your training" Roxford told me, "Ok then. What is it exactly?" I asked. They looked at each other with discomfort in their eyes and facial expression. What could this be about? "*is transferred some mana from Cryselle; channels it into hands, harnessing dark power in both palms* Listen closely, kid...This is all part of the process, ok?" Roxy told me with a weighted voice, "That's alright. I just wanna know what's happening here. *sees an energy-skull manifesting in his hands* I-I dont like how that looks. "This...Isn't a curse, is i-" I was trying to ask but Roxy shot the dark blast into my chest, blowing me backwards as I slid on the ground. "*coughs and hacks up a bit of blood from my mouth* Ghn..Gyyaaah..! *sees black marks stretch and move from my chest to my neck* W-what's happening to me? O.o" I asked, "It's a Darkness Curse. You can easily die with it on you. Dont worry too much. It'll let you use your Light magic freely but as you are, it's best to do them near these Relic Towers" Cryselle told me, "*heavily breathes* (Im...Guessing that I'll die with just a few Lght beams on my own..) *goes up to the really tall glowing stack of stones, and my body starts sparkling* Whoooa, I feel so much better! I much have lots of mana now ouo" I comment, "As long as you're close to one you can float. Your mana will drop rapidly but it's a way to see how much capacity you have" she further explained, "To see how much I have...Alright! I'll give it a try!" I replied. I leaped upwards and remained in the air while still sparkling. "*spins and rotates around, doing backflips, and diagonal tilts with my arms out* Heheheh, look at how much freedom I have up here. This is really fun! ^u^" I said, "*whips hair to the left with folded arms* Dont move too much. You'll drop like a rock in no time" Roxford told me, "Huh? *sees him from 70ft away, floating in front of his own Relic Tower* Oh Roxy. You're up here too" I noted, "*puts fingers to forehead* We'll see who can stay airborn the longest" he said. We waited up there for over 30 seconds, seeing who'd drop first. I tried forming a light sphere in my hands but felt myself dropping and disengaged them to remain in the air. Makes me wonder how many there are of these are out there. I didnt see any when we got to Crysie's house. 20 more seconds go by and Roxy was the first of us to continue descending, which was upsetting him and the frustrated look on his face was forcing a giggle from me. As for me, I stayed high up until I dropped after almost a full minute passed, making me touch the ground in no time. "You actually lasted longer up there longer than I thought. Those marks are gone and everything" Crysie points out, "! *looks in my shirt and looks close to my chest* Hey you're right. They're all gone" I confirm, "This means even you have about 10 times the mana capacity as Rox" she also said, "Well look, I just need to do this more often than him! That's all that means! My magic is still way stronger! V;" he shouted, "You may need to be under some other routine, but yes, you'll have to be cursed like that again to get better at using your magic. As an Impure Mage, you'll be able to curse yourself to do this on your own" she explained. Ok, Im starting to get how this comes full circle now. The dark magic attack lets me use my magic and the rocky tower can be used to push my magic to the limit to do more of it. We did this whole process three more times, with the last time having me and Roxy shooting magic blasts at each other. "*shoots two Light beams at him, and he counters them by shooting two big fire and ice blasts, which cancelled mine out upon collision* Who Roxy! That was pretty good!" I compliment, "Heheh, I wasnt lyin' about being the Arcane King. *flicks hair to the side* Soon the amount of mana I can use will be through the roof! U uU" he confidently said, "Can you shoot Light beams too?" I asked, "Hmm? I aint a fan of usin' it, but I'll amke an exception. So you wanna try it against each other?" he asked back, "Of course I do! I'll try my best! ^^" I told him and we proceed to charge up a mass of Light in one hand. We unleashed a huge roaring beam of Light magic from said hand, surprising everyone with widening eyes, including ourselves. "(O O No way...What is this kid...I like it. He has really has alot of potential! OuO) Not bad at all, lil guy. But let's see you handle my full power! oVo" Roxford shouted with some excitement in his voice, making his blast significantly bigger than mine, "Normally I'd do something about this, but fortunately.." Cryselle said under her breath with a smirk, "*sees my blast get swallowed up by his as it gets close to me in no time; starts to see nothing but white as it shined brightly* Heheh..I knew you were an incredible mage, Roxy ^u^" I said before being engulfed by his huge light blast that made the surroundings seemingly disappear in a void of brilliant brightness, blinding us. It took a few moments, but when the attack was finished and color returned to everyone's eyes, I can be seen laid face-first in the dirt. "Heh. You really outdid yourself this time, lil bro. Im glad you found someone like to be your crash test dummy! ^v^" Cryselle comments, making Roxy blush a bit with a smirk, "*raises my head up with a smile* That was great, Roxy! I really didnt see it comning! ^U^" I praised, "*turns away, doing a pose with a hand out nonchilantly* Too kind you two, too kind. Light is just one of my many Arcane talents after all. He showed promise but of course, got a ways to go UuU" Rox said to us, sounding slightly less arrogant than usual, "*hops back to my feet* I also feel great! But why? o3o I thought I got hit by some wicked strong Light magic" I asked, "It's really supposed to be for Pure Mages, but Rox here studied very closely with many different magics that I was teaching him. While Light magic can be damaging, it's also great at healing if fired at someone the caster sees as a friend ouo" she explained. Wooooow, I really had no idea! Now I wanna be a Pure Mage more than ever. It'd be perfect for me! For a moment there too, I had no worries about getting blown away by his beam, no matter how big it was. "I cant hand to him enough for how great your brother is then. I learned so much here. Thanks alot! ^u^ *hears a proud chuckle from both of them* I'd like to stay but I think I gotta go now. I have a certain lady waiting for me. Before I go, I have two questions" I told them, "Alright, whacha got?" Cryselle replied, "I wanna explore down here some more and see what's out there in the overworld too. Would either of you like to travel with me? ^.^" I asked, "Mmmmn. I should've seen this coming...Y'see..Im trying my best to train Rox up so he can do the same for me. There's a certain place near the CORE that appeared once most of my powers were sealed away..I want him to check it out. It may have the way to break my seal" she told me, "Oooooo, that sounds like an adventure to me. I cant wait! Me and him are gonna be the best magic team ever! *is lended the Platinum Staff from Cryselle* Especially with this! Oh and last thing. Where did these rocks come from? I've been wondering if there were more of 'em" I also asked, "Right, those. There's slabs of 'em that've been appearing all over these underground dungeons. They each hold some good mana and are best when collected and stacked. Sis has been gathering alot of 'em before she got sealed" Roxford explained, "Oh I see then. I dunno if I can solve the mystery behind them but I'll see what I can do. She's been having that seal on her for a while, right? Who did it?" I asked some more, "Well..*sees me suddenly warp away* ! Wait! Where the hell'd he go?!" Rox reacted, "I..I think he warped himself back home. (Did he copy Rox's warpping magic?) If so..This kid has more potential than we thought...He'd be perfect for going there with you then. *sees Rox turn back in awe then looked down with a smirk* In case he's elsewhere, look around for him with Muffet" Cryselle told him, making him nod before warpping as well.

I found myself in front of Toriel's door, inside the house. What...Happened to me? Did I just teleport here on my own? It happened so fast. After wondering for a moment, I see Frisk standing in front of me, curious with his head tilted. "*pets him* Heheh, you were missing me while I was gone, weren't you? *sees him hold my wrist with a blush* I thought as much ^.^" I said, "Oh, there you are. I was starting to think you'd never come back / w\" said a warm, familiar voice I was too familiar with, "Hey Tori! Wait til I tell you about what I did today! I learned more than I'd figure this time ouo" I told her, "That sure sounds wonderful, little one. Let me finish dinner and we'll talk it over" Toriel told me, then me and Frisk went to the table. I looked at my staff and he looked at it with me then our eyes met. He must really wanna play with it. To think he saved tons of monsters down here ^^. I dunno about giving this to him. Im sensing some real power from this thing.

"Do you mind telling me what you did while you were out while I finish?"

"Sure thing, Tori! Are you familiar with Pure Mages?"

"Oh them now? I could have been sure they weren't around anymore."

"Roxy and his sis knows alot about them and their magic. They told me about how very rare they are."

"Oh my, this is news to me."

"I was as suprised as you are. I found out that I was one of them too! ouo"

"Oh...I-Is that right? ;"

"(I think she knows why Im not anymore. Heheh..^^;) So we ended up practicing magic. Oh and before all that, Roxy warped us in a cave and we got ambushed by monsters."

"*GASP* I-Im so sorry I wasnt there..Did he save you two?"

"Not really."

"You shouldnt travel with him then. eVe"

"N-now hang on, Tori. I know it sounds really bad, but I was able to blast them away with my Light magic. ^^;"

"Oh were you? It looks like my little child really is a strong mage. UwU"

"*looks at her huge ass swaying as she moved across the oven* (O/O...AHEM) Well I did run out of mana right afterwards."

"My, you really were not prepared for outside. This is why I said not to go too far out."

"We were saved by his girlfriend, who's way stronger than all of us put together. She swung away a big plane monster with her webs. It was incredible! ^o^"

"Ah yes, Muffet was it? I was told by a friend of Frisk's that she gave him a very hard time. w"

"Wow he actually fought against her before? *sees him nodding* You really are a tough lil guy then. I can only imagine."

"*puts the plates of food in front of me and Frisk* He also...Fought against my husband before..That was when he turned up dead.."

"Oh Tori..You didnt have to mention that.."

"Sorry, it's just...It didnt happen that long ago.."

"Who killed him?"

"I'll...I'll tell you when we're alone."

"If you say so..Well anyway, after we were done with practice, Roxy's sis told me how most of her magic powers had been sealed."

"*sits down in a chair with us* Sealed you say? By who?"

"They were about to say it but I guess I warped myself away too soon. One of them told me that this place near the CORE area appeared when it happened. She's been trying to make her brother strong enough to go there."

"Going that far is...Well, very far out. Frisk went there once but I rather that he doesnt do all that traveling again. He's a lover in the first place."

"Yeah I noticed. So I was sorta hoping you'd come with me if I cant find Roxy. ^u^"

"M-me? I-I suppose the child can fend for himself at home..o/o"

"Or we can all travel there! It'd be a field trip! I'll see if Roxy can- OuO"

"P-Please please, I get...Really shy in groups like that../;"

"Alright, just you and me then."

"But going to all those places with all those people is alot for my old heart. I dont want them asking about my responsibilities, where I've been, what I do and- /;;;;"

"Aaaaaaw cmon, Toriii. Pleeeeease? I'll do all the talking for you."

"My sincerest apologies, child...Ever since my husband's been out of my life, I've...Become quite the worrywart. It'd be really embarrasing if I was asked about my relationship with you."

"Well...Yeah..I guess we're sorta like lovers. -/-"

"(...Quite.)"

"I can kinda warp us to different places, but it's something I'd need to practice...Hmmm, aint this a pickle we're in.."

"Speaking of food, be sure you eat up. You mustn't let it get cold."

"Ah that's right. *starts eating the green ham and eggs* Mmm, these are actually pretty good."

"Oh and there's some pie in the oven. I made it special for you this time."

"I'd love some, Tori! ^u^ *sees her get up after a giggle, open the oven, and bend over, showing her gigantic, round ass as she reached* (PHEEEW! PHEEEEW! You can last...YOU CAN LAST../;;)"

"They're all done too! ^w^"

"*tries to look away, upward* T-that's great, Tori. C-cant wait.. /;;;"

"*puts it in front of me* (Someone got very sweaty all of a sudden. Maybe he enjoyed the view that much? TWT) *whispers in my ear* Is someone ready for some of my cream piiiie~?"

"O-of course I am. /u/"

"*whispers some more* What about giving me a cream pie? TWT"

"*knees hit under the table while stiffing up* OUCH- I mean! Yes I'd love to cream pie you- I MEAN! I'd love some! O/O;;;"

"*giggles* (He makes this too easy at time. Like a good child should. -w-)"

"*starts eating the pie as she walks back to her chair* (Ok...She's away..My heart can calm down now..) Mmmm~, this is good too, Tori! What'd you do to it? ouo"

"I borrowed some peacans to make a peacan creampie. It's my first time making it so Im glad you love it. ^w^"

"I'll love anything you put out, Tori. ^.^"

"Oooooh you're just saying that. Someone's really after an old lady's heart. /w/"

"(Honestly..Im after more than just that...Oh but before I forget!) That's right. Do you mind telling why there's so many monsters down here, Tori? I dont see any that look like me. Well Roxy was close but I think I know why."

"I suppose it's time you know more about the world...In the far past, humans and monsters used to go to war with each other for their differenes, before being sealed by a barrier to end the conflict. Us monsters have lived down here since ancient times, and similarly with humans in the overworld. You see...I am the queen of the monsters. Sorry to tell you all this on short notice.."

"N-no need to worry. I think you and Frisk did great in all this. Now things are really peaceful! With some...Troublesome monsters that're still around.."

"While some are considered wildlife, you can still act merciful towards them and they will leave happily eventually."

"I think that's what Roxy was trying to do, but...It didnt go too well."

"It may be difficult, but I advise that you think over how to properly handle them. It'd be wise when you aren't much of a fighter yourself.^w^ *giggles*"

"Yeah I..Honestly am not. What I did just happened like that and..I dont want that to happen again. Not when I ran out fast like that."

"Hmm...I suppose it really is best that I travel with you. So you can figure out what to do against them better."

"Maybe you can help with that too?"

"I can..Try my best. Im home alone alot of the time so I wouldnt be too helpful."

"Really..I guess that makes sense. *finishes eating all the food on the plate and eats half of the pie* Aaaah~, the pie's so good, Tori! I can eat this all day..~q~"

"Is someone getting full over there? *looks over to Frisk, who's slumped over, asleep* (Perfect. -w-) My my, it looks like the child ate too much. ^w^"

"*giggles* I wouldnt wanna end up like him. Though...*yaaaawns* I am getting tired myself..I did do alot for the day."

"Dont be too tired, young one. You still have one last thing to attend to."
