Chapter 9: Meet the Sons

Piccolo had just finished explaining what the Teen wanted to say to Goku without revealing who he was.

Piccolo: We have three years to train until the Androids arrive.

Yamcha: Don't you think it's a little farfetched? Are we really supposed to believe that he cam from the future?

Piccolo: If you don't want to be believe and stay complacent then stay weak. I want to stay alive so I'm going to train until the Androids appear.

Bardock turned to Goku.

Bardock: Huh, you had a point when you said there isn't a dull day on Earth.

Goku: Conflict is universal, unfortunately.

Gohan: Huh...

Gohan looked up to see something.

Gohan: Look up there!

Everyone looked up see the Teen in a machine that was levitating above them. The Teen looked at them all and spoke to himself.

Trunks: I'll be back to help you out in three years, your time, but hopefully, you won't need my help. Mother, Father, I wish you two nothing but the best. The same goes you as well Goku and Gohan. Until we meet again.

Trunks smiled and waved at the heroes before pressing a button on the panel causing the vehicle to teleport away.

Everyone looked up as he teleported away.

Krillin: If what he says is true then I'm going to start training.

Tien: Same.

Vegeta turned to Goku.

Vegeta: Tell me Kakarot, how did you manage to escape the explosion of Namek?

Yamcha spoke up.

Yamcha: Yeah, that's right. Frieza's spaceship was busted up. King Kai said there was no way to escape in time.

Goku: I thought I was done for too. However, I was able to find those five space pods and used one to escape.

Vegeta realized what Goku meant.

Vegeta: Of course, the Pods the Ginyu Force came in!

Goku: Yep, I got in and pressed a few buttons and took off before the planet exploded.

Bardock spoke.

Bardock: And that's when he came to Yardrat. I checked the space pods navigation system and found that the Ginyu Force were originally headed for Yardrat.

Vegeta: I see. Aside from Forced Spirit Fission, what other abilities were you two able to learn?

Goku smiled before speaking.

Goku: I was able to learn a new teleportation technique called Instant Transmission. I learned it from my father and a Yardratian named Pybara.

Gine: Yeah, it's the same technique he used to get to Earth after we agreed to come arrive together. Isn't that right, Bardock?

Gine still had a malevolent aura and stared a hole in the back of Bardock's head. Bardock dared not turning around to face her.

Bardock: G-Gine, let's t-talk about that l-later, p-please.

Gohan decided to speak.

Gohan: Grandma, please go easy on him.

Gine's malevolent aura disappeared and went to hug Gohan.

Gine: Oh okay, I'll take it easy on him.

Bardock sighed a bit in relief.

Piccolo: We'll be fighting the Androids in three years, nine kilometers southwest of South City. We should arrive an hour early, at nine in the morning.

Bulma decided to interject.

Bulma: Wait, why not just use the Dragon Balls and summon Shenron? He can tell us where the creator of the Androids are and we can use that information to stop him.

Vegeta: ABSOLUTELY NOT! THINK OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN AND I WILL KILL YOU!

Everyone was quiet.

Bardock had a deadpanned expression.

Bardock: Are you done shouting like an idiot?

Bulma: The hell is the matter with you?! Didn't you hear?! You're all going to die! Goku, don't you agree that we need to stop him?

Goku: Sorry, I kinda want to fight too. I agree he has to be stopped but he hasn't even made them yet. Besides, a lot can happen in three years.

Bardock smirked.

Bardock: I feel the same way and I'm going to fight too.

Bulma: You Saiyans are a bunch of battle -crazed maniacs! If you die we won't be able to bring you back to life again!

Tien spoke up.

Tien: I'm fighting too Bulma. I want to test what I'm capable of. And if I die honorably in battle, so be it.

Bulma: Fine, do what you guys want. How did I ever get mixed up with you guys?

Vegeta: Kakarot, don't get cocky just because you can transform into a Super Saiyan. Sooner or later, I will be the one to defeat you, I swear it! Don't you dare forget that I am the greatest of Saiyans!

Goku was unfazed and simply smirked.

Goku: Sure.

A vane appeared on Vegeta's head as he was angered by Goku's nonchalant reply and took off.

Tien: We'll be leaving too. See you all in three years.

Chiaotzu: Bye everyone!

The two took off.

Goku: Well then before we start training, I, uh, need to speak with Chi Chi. Mom, Dad, Gohan, let's head home.

Gine smiled.

Gine: I'm ready when you are.

Yamcha: By the way Goku, what about that spaceship over there?

Everyone looked and saw the old Frieza Force Spaceship Bardock and Gine used to escape Planet Vegeta.

Bardock: We don't need it anymore so you can have it.

Bulma was elated to hear that.

Bulma: Really?! Thank you so much!

Bulma immediately ran over to the Space ship and sealed it in a capsule.

Bulma: I can make new spaceships with several improvements.

Bardock: Can she really do that?

Goku: Bulma is really smart, I'm sure she can do it. Now then let's get going. See you later Bulma, and good luck with the healthy baby.

Bulma: Huh?

Goku used instant transmission and teleported with Bardock, Gine, Gohan, and Piccolo.

Yamcha: What did he mean by that?

Bulma: Beats me.

Mount Paozu/Son Family House

Chi Chi was washing dishes to keep herself calm. She saw Gohan put on the Saiyan Armor and fly away to an unknown location.

Chi Chi: Gohan where are you? I hope you come back okay. I can't lose you again.

Soon enough, the front door opened with a familiar voice calling out.

Gohan: Mom, dad is back!

Goku: Hey Chi Chi, I'm back.

Chi Chi turned around and saw Gohan and Goku smiling at her. She immediately ran towards them and hugged them.

Chi Chi: Thank goodness you're both back.

She separated from them before turning to Goku.

Chi Chi: You know you had me worried when you didn't return.

Goku: I'm sorry Chi Chi. But I had a really good reason for that.

Goku turned to the side to show Bardock and Gine.

Goku: Chi Chi these are my parents, Bardock and Gine.

Chi Chi: Your parents?!

Chi Chi was shocked to see Goku's parents and how young they were.

Gine: So you are the young lady who captured our son's heart. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Chi Chi was taken a back. She heard that about what Saiyans were like but it looked like Gine was the complete opposite of that.

Chi Chi: Oh, um, it's an honor to meet you too. I'm Chi Chi.

Gine: I'm Gine and this is my husband Bardock.

Bardock put on a small smile

Bardock: Nice to meet you.

Goku: Mom and Dad will be staying on Earth so they can stay here with us until we can find a place for them to live.

Chi Chi: That's a great idea! I'll get dinner started for all of us.

Gine: Is it okay if I help out?

Chi Chi: It's not a problem, but are you sure you want to help? I mean you must be tired coming to Earth.

Gine: It's not a problem at all. Besides I'd like to talk to you about a few things, mainly about Kakarot.

Chi Chi: Well if you don't mind then who am I to oppose? Let's get going.

Bardock, Goku, and Gohan watched as both Gine and Chi Chi began talking and cooking together.

Bardock: Gine must really love Chi Chi.

Goku: Yep, it looks like they definitely get along.

Gohan: Dad will you tell mom about training for the Androids?

Goku: Of course, I will. Before I do that, I need to do something.

Goku looked over to Gine and Chi Chi.

Goku: Mom, Chi Chi, I need to go talk with someone really quickly but I promise to be back.

Chi Chi: Alright but be back for dinner is done.

Gine: And don't do anything crazy.

Goku: Got it.

Goku turned to Gohan and Bardock.

Goku: You guys make yourselves comfortable. I'll be back.

In an instant, Goku teleported away. Bardock sat on a chair while Gohan stood by him.

Gohan: Hey Grandpa, what was Planet Vegeta like?

Bardock was caught off guard by that question.

Bardock: Huh?

Gohan: Vegeta mentioned Planet Vegeta before and I was curious about it. I couldn't ask Vegeta because well...

Bardock: Because he's Vegeta?

Gohan: Well yes.

Bardock smiled a bit at this and began to explain.

Bardock: I'll tell you what Planet Vegeta was like.

Kami's Lookout

Goku teleported to Kami's Lookout. Already present was Kami, the current guardian of Earth and creator of the Dragon Balls. Beside Kami was attendant Mr. Popo.

Goku: Kami, Mr. Popo, it's been a while.

Mr. Popo: It's good to see you again Goku.

Kami: I see you have come with a question right?

Goku: Yes I do. I want to bring my brother Raditz back to life but he's been dead for over a year. Is there a way to upgrade the Dragon Balls in order to revive him?
