CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: HORRIFYING DISCUSSION
I stormed into the Lobby, the double doors slamming shut behind me. I stopped in my tracks and rest my hands on my legs, looking down at the floor as I began gasping for air. My lungs burned and my throat became dry with each breath I took. I felt exhausted. I wanted to sit down and rest for a little but decided against it. I had to inform Kyle, once he arrived at the Pizzaplex, about what happened.
"Hey, Mihael!" I heard the familiar voice of Kyle call out. I looked to see him heading in my direction.
"Kyle!" I cried out as I began running in his direction. He suddenly stopped in his tracks, looking at me with a strange expression on his face. "Kyle!"
I felt on my hands and knees just about a few feet away from him. I started to gag, feeling like I was going to throw up from all of that running. I was so tired that I wanted to collapse onto the floor and pass out right there. I watched Kyle inch closer to me and got about a foot from me. He offered me his hand, offering to help me stand up. I stared at his hand for a moment before I reached for it. With little effort, he helped me get back on my feet.
"Thanks," I said still gasping for air, though not as harshly.
"No problem," Kyle said before his face became slightly concerned. "Are you okay? You looked as if you were running away from something."
"I wasn't… running away… from anything," I said in-between gasps. "I ran… as fast as… I could… to get here… to inform you about… something very… important."
"Inform me about what?" he asked with a slight hint of concern and curiosity.
"It's about… Roxanne," I said. "Kyle, it happened again. Something is trying… to corrupt her… and we don't know how long… that will be. The worst part… is that if it gains full control of her… she will be under its influence… permanently. On top of that… whatever it is that's trying to take over her knows me. The first time it happened, it said… 'I've been waiting for you, Patel'. I think its desire to kill me has something to do with what happened in the past."
The slight concern on his face turned into horror. His face turned pale white as if the blood was drained completely from his face. Kyle began shaking slightly, which unnerved me slightly. Seeing him acting like this was not a good sign.
"Kyle…" I said cautiously. He seemed to regain himself slightly, but his face was still lacking some color.
"So, it's true…" I heard him whisper. "It's just like what Vanessa warned me about…"
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked. He stiffed but didn't say anything.
"Excuse me, can you say that again?" I asked, this time with slight anger and sternness in my tone. Again, Kyle didn't say anything.
I felt my anger growing at him for not giving me a response. Seeing this made me very suspicious of him. He knew something I currently didn't. Whatever it was, I had a feeling it was something very big. It might even be very important information that would undoubtedly shed light on what was going on.
"Kyle, do you know something important that I need to know?" I asked, suspicion present in my tone. Once again, Kyle didn't say anything. I was fed up with Kyle not giving me answers at this point. "Kyle, say something! Do you know something I don't?!"
I waited impatiently. After a long, and agonizing moment, he snapped out of his trance, the last remaining color returning to his face. He sighed and locked his eyes with mine. I quickly noticed that something was off about his eyes. I couldn't tell what it was.
"Yes, I do know something," he said, sounding defeated. "Mihael, there is something important you need to know. I shall tell you what it is."
"Please?" I demanded, crossing my arms.
"But before I do, I would like to tell you someplace private," he said. "How about we talk about it in my office?"
I thought about it for a moment. Though I did prefer he tell me now, it might be a better idea to talk about it somewhere private. Might be better to talk about it while sitting down rather than stand on my own two feet for God knows how long.
I sighed. "Sure. Lead the way."
He nodded and we began to head in the direction of the office.
We entered the office, which hadn't changed the last two times I'd been here. Closing the door behind me, I was flooded with memories of the times I was in here. It was crazy to think that it has been 6 days since I got the job and 5 days after I locked myself in here moments after my mistake. Mind-boggling to be honest.
Kyle walked over to the desk and sat down in his chair behind it. I walked over to the chair facing the desk and sat down. There was a moment of silence. I waited for him to speak. When he didn't say anything, I finally broke the silence.
"So, tell me everything," I said in a slightly commanding tone.
He sighed. "I will start off by saying that this isn't the first time something like this has happened. The first time it happened was over 10 years ago when there was a breach in the Pizzaplex."
"A breach?" I asked curiously.
Kyle nodded his head. "On the late night of April 29, 2028, Freddy, Chica, Monty, and Roxy were on stage for their last performance of the day. During the performance, however, Freddy suffered a technical malfunction and collapsed on stage. I was there when it happened. It was terrible. Scared a lot of the kids too."
This surprised me. I had no idea something like that happened and it took place on my sister's birthday. I tried to recall such an event but came up with nothing. I was either not paying attention to what was going on in the Atrium or it happened before I returned to the Atrium to inform my dad that my sister went missing.
"Did anything else happen after Freddy malfunctioned?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied, his face becoming very grim. "Shortly after Freddy was taken to Parts and Service and I had the others go back to their rooms, someone came running into the Atrium shouting that their little sister had gone missing. The police were immediately called and all of the guests were ordered to wait outside.
"When the police arrived, they searched intensely for 3 hours for the girl. When they failed to find her, I informed the guests that the Pizzaplex would be closed early and for them to head home. When all of the guests went home, I informed Vanessa, our security guard at the time, about what happened and ordered her to put Freddy in lockdown and for her to keep a sharp eye out for a 12-year-old girl. I went home afterward."
I felt a stabbing pain in my chest area. I clenched my chest tightly with my right hand and squeezed my eyes shut as the events of that terrible moment in my life flashed in my eyes. The feelings of panic and helplessness, the tears that streamed down my face, and my loud screaming and flailing as I tried to break free from my mother, who was restraining me. I hated thinking about or even remembering that day. I still wished it was all a bad dream.
"However, unbeknownst to us all, that girl going missing was only the beginning," Kyle suddenly said. My eyes shot open and I released my grip on my chest.
"What do you mean, Kyle?" I asked, looking him in the eyes.
"What I mean is that terrible things happened that night, which I wouldn't know about until the next morning," Kyle replied. He paused. "When I came back the next morning, Vanessa was waiting for me outside the Pizzaplex. I asked her how the night went and if she found any traces of the girl. She gave me a guilty look and told me to come inside to see. I was confused so I stepped inside.
"The establishment was a mess. Some of the attractions were trashed, many of the walls were cracked or broken, a number of gates were bashed open, and the Atrium looked like it had been hit by a tornado.
"I was shocked at how the place looked. I asked Vanessa to tell me what happened. She explained that a few hours before the security doors closed, a little boy around 8 to 10 years old had broken into the Pizzaplex and hid somewhere. If that wasn't bad enough, just moments before midnight, another boy around 16 to 17 years old had broken into the Pizzaplex by using the vents. She did manage to get the little boy at some point in the night, but he somehow escaped. As for the other one, he proved to be much harder to find.
"I asked her if she had found them. She said that while she wasn't able to find the girl, one of the boys was in Freddy's green room while the other one escaped. She led me to his room where the 16 to 17-year-old boy was lying on the couch unconscious. He had some injuries on certain parts of his body, though they weren't bad enough to where he had to be taken to the hospital."
My head began spinning as the words slowly sank in. It all sounded so strange to me. Why would some random 17-year-old boy break into the Pizzaplex that night moments after… As it slowly came together, what Charlie said to me moments before I woke up echoed in my mind.
"You're the reason why its hold on the entire Pizzaplex was lifted 10 years ago. Along with Freddy, Roxy, and 2 others, you freed Vanessa and the other animatronics from its corruption, weakening the monster enough to where it couldn't take over anyone for a few years."
Everything came crashing down. I didn't want to believe it, but from what Kyle has been telling me, it fits with what Charlie said. That 17-year-old boy found lying on Freddy's couch on the morning of April 30th was me. A strange feeling washed over my head as the realization hit me like a ton of bricks.
"Mihael…" Kyle said softly.
"That boy was me… wasn't it?" I asked weakly, looking Kyle in the eyes.
"Yes," he replied. "I realized it was you the moment I saw you. You were also the one who came running into the Atrium shouting that their sister had gone missing. I immediately called your father, who arrived pretty quickly to get you. You were still out cold by the time he'd arrived. He was relieved to see you were alright but was worried that you were unconscious. Your father scooped you up in his arms and took you home."
My mind became numb, everything feeling like time had come to a stop. I looked down at the floor, stunned. Some part of me wanted to deny everything, wanting to believe that it was all a lie. However, another part of me knew that Kyle was telling the truth. With all that's been going on, was there really any point in trying to deny and believe it to be a lie? No, there really wasn't any point in trying to do so.
As my mind slowly recovered from the numbness, I thought back to everything that has led me to where I am now. How I planned on getting this job to find out what happened to the missing kids, along with my little sister, only for me and Roxanne Wolf to slowly grow closer. Because of me doing things with Roxanne, I kept on forgetting my goal of wanting to solve the mystery of the missing kids and my sister. Now with Roxanne Wolf being slowly corrupted by something pure evil, along with Charlie visiting me and the strange animatronic following me, I realized that I was biting off more than I can chew.
"Mihael…" I looked up from the floor to see Kyle looking at me with a sympathetic expression. "I know it's a lot for you to take in and I deeply apologize for what might be going on in your head."
My eyes closed as my mind fully recovered from the numbness. I felt a rush of doubt flow through me as I realized that the situation has now become something more. While I wanted to find out what happened to the kids that went missing, I began to doubt that I would be able to stop whatever it is that was doing this. I didn't know if I would be able to succeed.
"Mihael?" Kyle said, slight traces of worry present in his tone.
"I can't do it," I whispered softly. There was a brief pause before Kyle broke it.
"What?" he asked, his tone sounding like he was taken aback by what I said. I opened my eyes to see the man looking at me with disbelief.
"I can't do it," I repeated a little louder. "I knew that trying to find out what happened to the missing kids all those years ago wouldn't be easy, which was the reason why I wanted the job, but having to face something from my past is another thing entirely. I was very determined, but now, I doubt I can do it. I've bitten off more than I can chew."
Kyle frowned at me. While I mentally slapped myself for mentioning my reason for wanting the job, I felt pathetic for thinking that I could stop it myself. I had no intentions of bringing anyone with me when it came time to face it. From how it has been corrupting Roxanne and using her to try killing me, it corroborated Charlie's statement about it having a personal grudge against me. It was me it wanted. No one else, meaning that it was my fight alone.
Kyle reached over the desk and rested a hand on my right shoulder. I flinched slightly from the touch. A warm smile formed on his face.
"Mihael, are you thinking that this is something you have to face all alone?" he asked softly. I stared at him for a moment before nodding my head slowly. "Well, you're not."
I felt great horror wash over me. While getting their help sounds so great and all, the thought of them getting hurt or even killed wasn't something I wanted. While I did have to think objectively and not let my emotions get the best of me, I greatly cared a lot for my friends, especially Roxanne. I did appreciate Kyle saying that I wasn't alone, though.
"Kyle, it's me that the bastard wants dead," I said. "It's something I do have to face alone."
"No, it's not," he said. "What's going on concerns you, all of the animatronics here, and the guests that come here. While it does have its sights set on you, it might try to hurt or kill someone. The one responsible for this happens to be the same one that caused the breach in security all those years ago. The animatronics are like family to me, and since you have a strong connection with Roxanne, that makes you a part of the family as well. We're all in this together. You will not do this alone."
I stared at him with wide eyes, stunned by what he said. All of his words slowly sank in. While I felt the need to object, I knew Kyle was right. What was going on concerned everyone here, including any of the guests that come here? It did have its eyes set on me, but that didn't mean I had to face it alone.
A wave of relief washed over me, making me smile. Kyle's warm smile grew slightly at seeing me smile.
"I guess you're right, Kyle," I said softly. "I care about the kids a lot as much as you do, as well as the guests, so it concerns everyone here."
"And I'm glad that you care a lot about the kids," Kyle said as he removed his hand from my shoulder. "To be honest, I'm not surprised about your reasoning for wanting to get this job in the first place. I had a sneaking suspicion when you said that you wanted to become a security guard so as to prevent what happened all those years ago from happening again."
This took me by surprise. I didn't think about how my saying I wanted the job so as to prevent what happened all those years ago would make him suspect my true reasoning for wanting the job. Looks like that was the case.
I thought back to the conversation we had prior. Something clicked in the back of my head. I wanted to know what happened after my father took me home, and how they even found out that Vanessa was the one responsible for the missing kids. While it was said Vanessa was sent to a mental institute for being crazy in the head, I suspect it had to do with something else.
"Hey Kyle, I want to know a few things," I pointed out.
"What is it?" he asked.
"First, what happened after my father took me home? Second, how did anyone find out it was Vanessa who was behind it all? Did she say why she did it?"
There was a pause before Kyle broke it. "After your father took you home, I noticed that Freddy wasn't in the room. I asked Vanessa where he was. She said she didn't know, but she explained why Freddy wasn't in his room. It turns out that before midnight, Freddy was let out of his room, and throughout the night, he guided you and the little boy by giving out instructions on what to do. At some point, Roxy took part in helping you and the boy for the rest of the night.
"I asked her if Roxy and the others were in their green rooms. She said no. She told me that they might be somewhere in the Pizzaplex as she alerted them to their being a little boy hiding somewhere and had ordered them to find him. Afterward, I went out to search for them. It took me a while, but I found both Chica and Monty in the Atrium. I was horrified when I saw them.
"Both Chica and Monty were severely damaged; Chica was missing her beak and voice box while Monty looked like he had the shit beaten out of him. He was missing his legs and his claws. They were lying on the floor, looking as though they were deactivated. I went to find Freddy and Roxy after I had Vanessa take Chica and Monty to Parts and Service to get fixed.
"After a while, I found Freddy in Fazer Blast. However, the poor bear looked like he had been torn into. Like Chica and Monty, Freddy wasn't on, hinting he had deactivated some time after being torn into. After taking Freddy to Parts and Service, I went to search for Roxy."
"Did you find her?" I asked.
"Yes, I did," he replied. "30 minutes before we opened, I found her lying in the center of the track in her Raceway. I went over to see if she was alright where I was met with a nasty surprise."
"Was she damaged?" I asked, dread present in my tone.
"Unfortunately yes," Kyle said remorsefully. "Her right eye was missing, her hair was disheveled and messy, a huge chunk of her chest was exposed, her tail was destroyed with its endoskeleton exposed, and her left leg and arms were scarred with half of her left arm exposing the endoskeleton.
"Like her friends, she was deactivated. I carried Roxy to Parts and Service. When I got there, Vanessa had fully repaired Freddy, Chica, and Monty. They were good as new and functioning. When they saw Roxy's condition, they were rightfully horrified and asked what happened to her. I told them that I didn't have a clue, but she was going to be fixed right away. It took a while, but Vanessa and I returned Roxy to her former glory.
"When she reactivated, she was confused about where she was and asked how she got to Parts and Service. I explained that I found her in the Raceway damaged and deactivated. I asked if she remembered anything from last night. To my shock, she said she couldn't remember anything. I asked the others and it was the same thing. Since I knew Vanessa was here the entire night, I asked her for more details. That's when she dropped a bombshell.
"She told me that she was the one responsible for the missing kids, and allowed 'him' to hack into the animatronics, turning them, except for Freddy, murderous. I was horrified and disgusted. I demanded to know who 'he' was. She was hesitant at first, fearful at best, but she claimed it was someone named William Afton. Vanessa claimed that this William Afton fellow had possessed her some before construction of the Pizzaplex was completed. She insisted that William forced her to try killing both you and the little boy throughout the night.
"At the time, I thought she was crazy, making all of it up. I fired her and called the cops. As she was being taken away, she kept saying that he was waiting and if you ever came back, William will return and finish the job. Once the police took Vanessa away, I informed the public that the Pizzaplex would remain closed until the damages done to it were repaired.
"It took about a month to fix the damages. When repairs were done, we reopened the Pizzaplex. For 10 years, I hired many security guards, but as you know, many of them were fired due to how they treated Roxy and the things they did to her. But that's not all, during that time, I would hear a bone-chilling voice in my head say 'I always come back. I will have my revenge'. I thought I was hearing things in my head so I really didn't give them much thought or connect them to Vanessa's warning.
"10 years had passed since the incident, and I'd forgotten all about Vanessa's warning. On the day you came back to the Pizzaplex, I was in Rockstar Row doing my work. As I was about to leave, I bumped into your friend Peter Brown, who asked if I was the manager. I told him I was. He told me that he had a friend who was looking for a job and was wondering if we were hiring. When I said we were and asked who his friend was, that's when Peter said it was you, giving out your full name.
"I was surprised to hear that you came back. I never thought for the past 10 years you would come back, not after what happened. I was very hesitant to interview you when I remembered Vanessa's warning, but I decided to give you a chance. I told him I would interview you once I had finished my work. Peter was satisfied with my answer, told me that you might be in the Lobby, and he walked away. I went over to the Atrium to check up on the guests shortly after.
"When I was done, I left the Atrium and made it to the Lobby. That's when I found you talking to Peter, telling him that you were planning on finding the manager and asking if we were hiring. From there, you know what happened next."
I stared at him with wide eyes. As the words slowly sank in, it made a lot of sense. It answered how they found out it was Vanessa and why she committed it. However, as I thought about it, questions formed in my mind. Who the heck was William Afton? Was he the one trying to corrupt Roxanne? If so, was he the one Charlie described as the evil that was hiding somewhere in the Pizzaplex?
I thought about it carefully. While there wasn't enough evidence to prove it, Vanessa did admit that it was him who made her do the things she did, even going as far as to warn Kyle about his return 10 years ago. There might be a chance that she was making it up and was crazy in the head.
I thought about the times Roxanne was corrupted. Whenever the wolf mascot spoke, there was a dark edge in her voice, sounding similar to how the voice sounded in my nightmare. As I thought about the first time it happened, the words that came out of her mouth echoed loudly in my head.
"I've been waiting for you… Patel. You won't get away this time. You… will… DIE!"
I felt a shiver go down my spine. That statement corroborated with both Vanessa's warning and Charlie's statement; William was waiting for me to return so that when I came back, he will finish the job. While it did seem like enough, there was one question I wanted the answer to. With everything Kyle told me, I had the right to know.
"Well, now you know everything," Kyle said.
"Not everything," I countered. "There's something I need to know."
"What else do you want to know?" he asked, his tone sounding a bit exhausted.
"Did you find out how Chica, Montgomery, and Roxanne were hacked by this 'William Afton' Vanessa spoke of?" I asked.
Silence filled the room. Kyle stared at me for a moment before he sighed. I waited in anticipation. The intensity of it was making me anxious. He sighed and looked me in the eyes.
"That's the strangest thing, Mihael," he finally said. "After I'd informed the public about closing the Pizzaplex until the damages were taken care of, I checked their programming for any signs of being tampered with. Imagine my surprise when I found no signs of tampering in any of them. Their programming was perfectly normal and looked to be untouched.
"When I found nothing, I checked their memory banks. There were signs that someone, most likely Vanessa, had deleted their memories of the events that took place that night. Roxy, on the other hand, was a very different case.
"When I accessed her memory banks, I discovered that her memories were intact. When I tried to access those memory banks, I found that I couldn't get into them no matter what I did. It looked as though something was preventing me from accessing those memories."
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means that whatever it is that's preventing us from accessing those memories is the sole cause of Roxy's inability to remember anything from that night," he explained. "To this day, no one has been able to access those memories. We still haven't found out the cause of it."
I found this to be very suspicious. I didn't know anything about technology to that degree, but something tells me that it has to do with William. How was the big question? More importantly, if it was William's work, how did he possess Vanessa, and was now doing it to Roxanne? There was something horribly wrong with all of this. This mystery just got a whole lot stranger.
"Speaking of the animatronics, do you know what they're doing?" he asked.
"They're at Parts and Service," I replied. "After it happened again, I told Freddy, Chica, and Montgomery to take Roxanne there and check to see if there was anything that could give us a clue as to how William's doing what he's doing."
A grim expression formed on his face, but he nodded nonetheless. I had a gut feeling that they won't find anything. Alongside it, something was telling me to ask Kyle if he knew anything about a 'Charlotte Emily'. I can take this moment to begin my investigation regarding her. He may not know anything about her, but it was worth a shot.
"Kyle, I have another question to ask you," I said.
"Ask away, Mihael," he said.
I took a deep breath and exhaled. "Do you anything about someone named 'Charlotte Emily'?" I asked. Kyle stared at me, confusion and curiosity present on his face.
"Sorry, I don't anything about a 'Charlotte Emily'," he said while shaking his head. "Why do you ask?"
As I was about to reply, something in the back of my mind told me not to tell him anything. He might think I was crazy if I explained that the ghost of Charlie visited me and warned me about the evil in the Pizzaplex.
However, a part of me urged me to tell Kyle about what I know. I already asked if he heard of Charlie so it's already too late to act like it was nothing. He might become curious and try to find out who she was, which I planned to do when I got home.
I sighed. "It might sound crazy, but I may have been visited by the ghost of Charlie way before your arrival. She told me that there was something evil hiding somewhere in the Pizzaplex and that it was slowly corrupting Roxanne, which if it successfully does, she will be under its control permanently. That's how I know about that. I planned to do some digging about her when I get home. Call me crazy."
He eyes me for a moment. I could only hope that he didn't think I was crazy.
"That explains a lot," he said, nodding his head. "I was thinking about how you knew that on the walk here. I planned on asking you, but you beat me to it. After what's been going on, I don't think you're crazy."
I nodded my head. A wave of disappointment washed over me at Kyle for not knowing anything about Charlie. At the same time, I was grateful that he didn't think I was crazy. If he did, it might've made the situation more complicated.
"Do you have any other questions for me, Mihael?" he asked softly. I thought long and hard about it before 2 questions popped up in my head. They had something to do with things that happened during the interview that I now see as questionable.
"Only two," I replied.
"Ask away," he said.
"It's about the interview," I said. "When I asked why you thought I wouldn't be worthy of the job, you responded quite reluctantly. I might be overthinking it, but it looked like you were going to say something very different before you brought up having a problem with hiring the right security guard. What were you originally planning on telling me that day?
"My second question has something to do with you telling me that I didn't need to have the experience to work as a security guard here. My mother found that to be very suspicious when I told her. Why did you even ask in the first place?"
Kyle went into deep thought. I waited patiently for what he'll do next. If he didn't want to tell me, that was totally okay. I wasn't going to force him to tell me if he felt obligated to not share it with me.
After a moment, he let out a low sigh. "You have no idea how badly I wanted to tell you everything that day, Mihael. When you asked why I thought you wouldn't be worthy of the job, I had planned to mention Vanessa's warning, but since we were doing an interview and we were strangers to each other, I changed plans and told you about my problems on finding the right guard.
"As for you not needing any experience, I was speaking the truth about you not needing any experience. The company doesn't care if you had experience or not. Believe it or not, Vanessa didn't have any experience when she became our first guard and she did well. I asked because since you're 27 years old, I thought that you might have experience working somewhere. I laughed because I found it to be so bizarre when you said that this was your first time applying for a job. I do apologize if I offended you."
He paused. "Mihael, I gave you the job because I wanted to see if Vanessa's warning would come true. It was both very stupid and selfish of me to endanger you like this. I have no right to ask this of you, Mihael, but since you are now involved and already too deep in this, I have no other choice. Before I ask this of you, there's something I want to know, if it's okay with you if I ask." I nodded. He sighed before pausing again. "Do you remember anything from that night?"
I frowned at this. I didn't remember anything that took place that night. Everything that followed after her disappearance was all but a blur. I hated having to give him the bad news, but it was better than lying and saying that I do remember when I don't.
I sighed. "I'm sorry. I don't. Everything became a blur after my sister disappeared."
He frowned. "I see. I'm not sure why you don't remember, but we might find out one day. Maybe not today or tomorrow but in the mere future."
"And I'm going to assume that you plan on asking me to help you stop William Afton," I said. His frown grew at my assumption.
"Yes," he replied. "Again, I have no right to this of you, but now that Roxy is in danger of being permanently corrupted and your life now in danger, I can't just fire and forbid you from coming back. I would be a fool if I did so. Please, help me."
I thought about it. While I was happy about having a job, I felt a rush of anger at the reason for him giving me the job. He was right indeed; he had no right to ask this of me. However, I couldn't just say 'nope, not helping you so go fuck yourself'. It really wouldn't make things any easier or less dangerous. I wanted this job for a reason and by leaving, I would be giving up on my goal to get the closure that I and many other families have desired. That'll be the worst thing I'd ever done.
Plus, I couldn't just leave Roxanne, especially with her being in the danger of being turned into something else against her will. I cared about her way too much to turn my back on her now. If I did, it'll be like leaving her to a fate that would destroy her. That I couldn't allow.
I sighed. I knew what I was going to do. I looked Kyle in the eyes and gave him my best-determined look. While I did find it a little ironic since I was doubtful about my chances of stopping William, Kyle said that it was something that concerned everyone here when I said that I couldn't do it. Now that I have a slight understanding of what we're up against, I was now fully determined to stop William Afton no matter what.
"I'll do it," I declared.
"I'm very thankful," Kyle said. "You said that the animatronics are at Parts and Service, right?" I nodded. "Let's head down there. See if they found anything. Let's go."
We got up from our respective chairs and headed over to the door. Kyle opened the door and walked out. I followed after him, closing the door behind me. As we walked, I hoped that they found something that can help free Roxanne. Anything would be better than nothing.
"Hey, Mihael?" Kyle said. I looked at him. "Do you mind telling me what happened last night?"
"No, I don't mind telling," I said. "After all, you have the right to know."
Kyle nodded, pleased. With that, I began to tell Kyle everything, making sure I didn't leave anything out.
Author's Note:
Here is the seventeenth chapter of Robotic Love! :D
I'm very proud with how this turned out. This was the hardest chapter to write as a lot of background and plot-driven points were going to be revealed in this. I had to read some old chapters so as to not create any inconsistencies. If there are any, let me know and I will fix them.
Also, for new readers and veterans of this story, I updated old chapters with content that I came up with over time. I also added an Author's Note at the beginning of Chapter One explaining why Mihael is the way he is. I sincerely apologize if I scared anyone with Mihael's behavior. I wanted to show, not tell, but that didn't work out. I will do better with this in the future.
That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, all constructive criticism is appreciated and I will see you guys in Chapter Eighteen! :)
Update: Added more to the ending.
