CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: OLD LOCATION
The annoying sound of my alarm clock blaring loudly pulled me back to consciousness. I groaned as I shut off the alarm. After a brief moment, I sat up on my bed and stretched to get the blood flowing, letting out a loud yawn as I did. I opened my eyes and surveyed the bedroom. Seeing that everything looked good, I looked at the clock. The time read 7:08 AM.
'Time to start another day,' I thought to myself. I threw the covers off me and hopped out of bed. I walked over to the dresser and put on a light red T-shirt and light gray pajama shorts.
Now dressed for the day, I closed the dresser. I walked out of my bedroom, closing the door behind me. As I walked down the hallway, I picked up the faint sound of chatting. I paused for a moment before continuing down the hallway, wondering what the source was. I entered the living room and looked to see that the TV was on playing some random sitcom.
'Why is the TV on?' I thought to myself.
"Good morning, Rockstar," said a familiar voice. I looked to see Roxanne sitting on the recliner chair with that cute smile on her face.
I smiled. "Good morning, Roxanne."
"Did you sleep well?" she asked.
"Yes, I did," I replied, realizing quickly that I didn't wake up in the middle of the night screaming from nightmares once again. Something came to mind. "Have you been awake all night?"
"Yes, I have," she replied slowly.
"Do you ever sleep?" I asked stupidly.
Roxanne giggled, probably because of how stupid the question was. "No, I don't sleep, though we once went into what we call 'sleep mode'. We used to run on limited power, using charging stations to bring us to full power. If we were low on power, we would enter sleep mode. However, after 5 years, we were all upgraded to run on unlimited power and the charging stations were removed. Something about how using the charging stations continuously made something skyrocket."
I nodded, knowing what she meant. I couldn't blame them. What with all of those lights being on 24/7, their electric bill must be very expensive as it is. Even if they were swimming in probably millions of dollars, even they have to find ways to lessen the amount on the bill.
"So, what have you been doing all night?" I asked.
Her smile grew slightly. "Just spent the night watching TV. I got tired of watching Looney Tunes so I changed from channel to channel to see what else was on. I watched a little bit of some show that had these guys going from one haunted place to another and spending an entire night from dusk until dawn, and another about these 3 men doing some goofy thing. The only problem was that it was all black and white. After a while, I settled with this show. It's called 'The Big Bang Theory'. I've been watching it for 2 hours now."
I looked back at the TV. I immediately recognized the sitcom now. I smiled. The Big Bang Theory happened to my mother's favorite TV show with a total of 12 seasons. Her favorite character was Sheldon Cooper. I thought of Sheldon Cooper as a pretty funny character, especially when he gets all smart. I was pretty sure he was also the most popular character in the whole show.
"It's a good show," I said with the smile on my face. "I can see why it would catch your attention. It's a pretty popular show. If you were to ask anyone if they've heard about it, 99.9% chance they would say that they have."
"That popular?" Roxanne asked, genuinely surprised.
"Yep," I replied, nodding my head. "My mother watches that show from time to time."
"Huh," was all she said. She stared at me for a moment before the wolf seemed to go into deep thought, thinking about something right now.
I watched as a different range of emotions changed the expression on her face. It went from happy, sad, angry, to uncertainty in a matter of a few seconds. I couldn't help but wonder what was going through that head of hers. Whatever it was she was thinking, those thoughts were making her feel that way.
Roxanne sighed before she closed her eyes for a moment. She opened them and looked me in the eyes. She got up from the recliner chair, walking over to me with her hands clamped together. Her tail tucked itself between her legs, her ears lowered. Seeing her like this reminded me of the times she got shy around me.
'I wonder what's making her feel so shy,' I thought to myself.
"Mihael, I want to talk to you about something later tonight," she said finally.
"Okay," I said. "About what?"
"I can't tell you," she said, looking down at the floor. "You'll have to wait until tonight."
"Alrighty then," I said before gesturing to the front door. "I'm going to get the mail."
She looked at me curiously. "Mail?"
"It's something people receive every day, except Sunday," I reply. "The mail can consist of either letters or packages. It won't take me long."
"Okay," she said, satisfied. With that, I walked over to the front door. I opened the door and stepped outside, closing the front door behind me.
I stood on the front porch, taking a deep breath of the fresh morning air. I sighed contently. I always loved the smell of the air in the morning. It had this tranquil feel to it, signaling to all the start of a fresh, brand new day. Honestly, I preferred the morning rather than the afternoon.
I walked over to the mailbox in the front yard and opened it. I retrieved the contents that were stuffed inside of it. I checked the contents; 4 envelopes that were undoubtedly bills.
'The life of an adult,' I thought to myself. I closed the mailbox and walked back to the front door. As I reached for the knob, I braced myself for what would happen next.
"Morning, Mihael!" called out that familiar deep, gruffy voice. I turned to see Peter walking over to me.
"Good morning, Peter," I said as he got about a foot from me. "How are you?"
"Been doing fine," he replied. "Just woke up about 20 minutes ago. Bella woke up 5 minutes ago, confused and wondering how she got into bed. I explained to her what happened last night."
I frowned. Memories of what happened last night came flooding back to me. What could've been a really fun night was ruined because I acted before thinking about the consequences first. It was still pretty stupid of me.
"How did she take it?" I asked.
"She took it rather well," Peter replied. "She's still surprised Roxy was there last night. I told her I planned to have her party on a different date. I haven't figured out what would be the best time."
"Okay," I said.
"Speaking of Roxy, how is she?" he asked.
I shrugged. "She's doing fine. Spent the whole night watching TV. After all, animatronics can't sleep."
"True," he said. Something seemed to click in the man because his eyes widened a little. "Mihael, didn't you say you were going to help find whoever has been trying to hack Roxy yesterday?"
My frown grew slightly. All of the things Kyle and my mother said to me yesterday came flooding back. I learned so much yesterday. I felt my head pound from all the knowledge. Now thinking about it, I didn't know how to feel about it.
Knowing that I was there when the breach took place was really overwhelming. Plus, the fact I couldn't remember it didn't help things either. As for what my mother told me, while I was thankful for her telling me things I didn't know about, I had no idea how to process all of it. All in all, it was mind-blowing.
I sighed. "My mother talked with my boss yesterday and they both agreed that it would be best for me to stay at home to supervise Roxanne. You know, just in case something happens."
"Okay," Peter said, his expression turning slightly concerned. "Are you okay, Mihael? You look overwhelmed."
I stared at him for a moment. I didn't want to tell him about all of the things Kyle and my mother told me yesterday so I had to go with something he would believe.
"A lot's been going on, Peter," I said weakly. "I don't know how to process all of it. It's overwhelming."
"Well, what are you going to do?" he asked. I thought about it.
I thought about the meadow. It has been awhile since I last went there. That was the day I started my first night shift at the Mega Pizzaplex. However, that thought went out the window. While it did sound relaxing, I wasn't in the mood to go visit it.
An idea popped up in my head. Even though I wasn't one to do something like this, it might be better to drive around Hurricane. I heard that something like that was a method people used to help clear their heads. Maybe that might help. It was worth a shot after all.
"I think I'll go drive around town," I said finally. "Hopefully, it might help me clear my head and cope with it all."
Peter nodded. "Okay. Do you want me to supervise Roxy while you're gone?"
I thought about it. Never once have I ever let anyone in my house, other than my mother. I didn't like the idea of anyone, even my own neighbors spending any length of time in my house. However, the idea of leaving Roxanne by herself without anyone keeping an eye on her unnerved me. If I or anyone else wasn't around when something happened, there would be trouble. There's no telling what could take place.
"I don't mind," I said. "However, it'll be better if I talked with Roxanne on that. I don't want to do something without hearing her input first."
"Understandable," he said, nodding his head. "I'll head back home to let Bella know."
"Okay," I said. "When I come back out, I'll let you know what her response is."
He nodded and with that, he headed in the direction of his house. I turned my attention to the door and opened it. I stepped into the house, closing the door behind me.
"I told you it won't take me long, Roxanne," I said as soon as the door closed. The wolf mascot was sitting on the recliner chair still watching TV. She turned her head to face me.
"I never thought it would take you long," she said.
"Sure you didn't," I teased. We chuckled for a moment before we regained our composure. I walked past her, entering the hallway. I walked over to the bedroom door, grabbed the knob, and turned it. I opened the door and stepped inside.
Closing the door behind me, I walked over to my nightstand. I opened it and retrieved the car keys. I jingled them for a moment before I looked back into the drawer. Inside was the money I never spent, my phone charger, and the Faz-Watch.
I mentally facepalmed. Once again, I forgot to mention Kyle about taking the Faz-Watch home. The worst part was that he came to my house to drop off my truck and take the van back to the Mega Pizzaplex. Looking back, Kyle would've said something about it when he was here. The next time I see him, I would ask him about it.
I sighed and closed the drawer. I walked over to the dresser and grabbed a pair of socks. They didn't match as one was black with the other being white. I didn't care. Socks were socks. I put them on and thought about putting on different clothing. To be honest, I was merely going to drive around town. Plus, people have gone to groceries stores wearing only their pajamas many times. With that in mind, I closed the drawer.
I walked over to the computer desk where I retrieved my phone. I pushed the power button. The screen lit up, showing me the time and that I hadn't received any notifications. I checked how much power it had left. It read 20%.
'Of course, I forget to charge the damn thing last night before going to sleep,' I thought to myself. 'It'll have to do, I guess.'
I walked out of the bedroom, closing the door behind me. I entered the living room. Roxanne was still sitting on the recliner chair watching 'The Big Bang Theory'.
"Hey, Roxanne, I have to tell you something," I said. The wolf looked away from the TV, making eye contact with me.
"What is it?" she asked, curiosity clear on her face.
"I'm going to take a drive around Hurricane," I said. "Before I came inside, Peter stopped by to talk. As we talked, all of the things Kyle and my mother told me yesterday went through my mind. A lot has been happening recently, overwhelming, to be honest. I feel as though driving around town will help clear my head. I voiced it to him. He asked if I would like him to supervise you while I'm gone. I thought it would be best to ask you if you're okay with that. I didn't want to do something like that without hearing your input first"
Roxanne Wolf stared at me for a moment before going into deep thought. I waited patiently for her answer. I knew that this could go in any direction. She might say 'yes', she might 'no', she might even ask if she could come along. Whatever her answer would be, I had to be ready for it.
"How long will you be gone?" she asked, slight traces of worry in her tone.
"I don't know," I replied. "Probably for like an hour or two depending on the line of traffic and if the traffic lights will play nice."
"Okay," she said. Her expression brightened a little. "Is it okay if I can come with you?"
I frowned. As much as that sounded like a great idea, it wouldn't be smart. The windows of my truck aren't tinted so if somebody were to look through their windows, they would see her sitting in there with me. While the neighbors reacted nicely to her, I didn't think the rest of Hurricane would react the same way.
I sighed. "Roxanne, it would be best if you stay here."
"Why?" she asked, disappointment in her tone.
"The windows of my truck aren't tinted," I replied. "If somebody were to look, they would see you in the truck with me. People react to things differently so most likely, they wouldn't react the same way the neighbors had last night."
Roxanne looked at the ground, her ears lowering. I felt bad for saying no, but I couldn't take that risk. It was safer for her to stay at the house.
"Okay," she said finally. "I don't mind Peter being here. He's a really nice guy so I don't see why he can't."
Guilt washed over me. I hated seeing her like this, even though it might be her method of getting me to change my mind. Something clicked in my head. While I refused to let her come with me, I could make it up to Roxanne by taking her to the meadow tonight. The meadow was a place only I knew. By taking her there, it would be our own little secret from that point on.
I smiled at the idea. I walked over to her, the wolf still looking down at the ground. I rested my right hand on her shoulder. Roxanne jumped slightly from the contact before looking up at me.
"Roxanne, while I can't take you with me, I know a place we can go to later tonight," I said. Interest sparkled in her eyes.
"What would that place be?" she asked.
"It's located in the woods behind my house," I replied. "I can't tell you what it is, but I will say that it's extremely beautiful. I think you will love the place. So what do you think?"
Roxanne looked down at the ground, going into deep thought again. I waited patiently for her response. I would understand if Roxanne didn't want to go see the meadow later tonight. The thought of her deciding not to sent a stabbing pain in my heart. I would love to share that little secret with her after having the place to myself.
Roxanne looked at me, a smile forming on her face.
"Yeah, I like that," she said.
I nodded, removing my hand off her shoulder. I felt relief washing over me, along with a surge of excitement. Something deep down told me that tonight was going to be great.
"Okay, what time do you want to go?" I asked. Roxanne thought about it for a moment.
"How about like around 9 PM?" she suggested. "I do have something to tell you tonight so going to your little secret place in the woods at 9 would be perfect."
My smile grew slightly at the idea. I remembered that Roxanne said that she wanted to tell me something tonight. In my eyes, this was perfect timing.
"Sounds great," I said. "Well, I'm heading out. I'll let Peter know that you agreed to let him supervise you."
She nodded. With that, I turned and walked over to the front door. I looked at Roxanne to see that cute smile on her face. I looked away and stepped outside, closing the door behind me. I looked ahead to see Peter standing about a foot away from me. I yelped, my heart skipping a beat.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Peter said apologetically. It took me a moment to get a hold of myself.
"It's fine," I said, my heart returning to normal. "What did your wife say about staying here to supervise Roxanne?"
A small smile formed on his face. "She said that was okay. Bella's still surprised by this whole thing."
"I'm sure she is," I agreed.
"So, what did Roxy say about me supervising her?" he asked.
"Roxanne is okay with you supervising her," I replied. "I told her that I would be taking a drive around town. She was disappointed that I refused to let her come with me. I don't want anyone seeing her in the truck with me."
He nodded. "Understandable. How long will you be gone?"
I shrugged. "Depends on how nice the traffic and the lights play."
He laughed. "I know how that feels. Well, have a nice drive."
I nodded. With that, I walked over to my truck while Peter walked into my house. I opened the driver's side door and hopped inside. I closed the door once I was seated. I put the key into the ignition and turned it. The truck came to life.
'Here we go,' I thought to myself as I backed out of the driveway of my house. Once I was out, I began driving down the road that led out of the neighborhood.
I drove down the road with no destination in mind. I had the air conditioning on since it was a hot day outside. A traffic light up ahead turned red, signaling all to pull to a stop. I pulled the truck to a stop, beginning the agonizing waiting game for the light to turn green.
As I waited, I took a look around. There were directions I could go; left, right, or straight ahead. To the left and right were a collection of buildings of various stores; a small barber shop, a clothing store to the left, a jewelry store, and a hair salon to the right. There were more, but I didn't focus on them. Up ahead were more stores of various types.
It always amazed me on how much Hurricane can change as the years pass. Sometimes for the better or for the worse. It always depended on what the future had in mind. The best anyone can do is hope it would be for the best.
I looked to see the light turn green. The cars in front began to move. I began to move as well. I pushed the lever up to turn the right turn signal on. I turned the wheel, forcing the old truck to go right. Once fully turned, the turn signal turned off. I began driving down the road.
I kept my eyes on the road while turning my head left and right to take in the passing buildings on occasion. As I went further down the road, I felt my mind become at ease. I smiled. Looks like my idea was working just great.
Not only that, but I'd never been down this part of town. I always heard that seeing new things was refreshing. They weren't wrong on that. Even after living in this town for my entire life, there were parts that I never went to. Mainly because I didn't see any reason to do so.
I turned my head to the right. I caught something that almost made me stop the truck.
In between two buildings was a road that led to a parking lot smack in the middle of nowhere. At the end of the parking lot was a small rectangular–shaped building, but I couldn't make out what it was. I didn't know why, but I felt the need to go check it out. Something about that parking lot seemed off.
I turned my turn signal on and turned right. I went down the road leading to the parking lot. As I drove closer to the building, my stomach began to feel funny. Even though I wanted to see what the building was, something deep down within me was regretting my poor choice. I ignored it.
I pulled into the parking lot and stomped on the brakes. The truck came to a slow stop. Once it stopped, I turned the ignition off, took the keys out, and stepped out of the truck. Closing the door, I surveyed the building.
It was indeed rectangular-shaped made out of red bricks that were worn and crumbling with age. Two large double doors that led into the building were to the right of the building with two windows on each side. From the looks of it, the building seemed to have been abandoned for years. Above the entrance doors read was a sign with 4 mascot animals that consisted of a bear, a chicken, a rabbit, and a fox. Underneath them were colorful words that read 'Freddy Fazbear's Pizza'.
'What in God's name…' I thought to myself in wonder. 'Is this a previous location the company owned?'
Something in my gut told me so. I had a feeling that the bear was Freddy and the chicken was Chica, though they looked different. This Chica was yellow holding a plate with a pink cupcake in her left hand. This Freddy was light brown holding a microphone in his right hand. The rabbit and the fox didn't look familiar to me, though I had a feeling these, along with Freddy and Chica, were old incarnations of the ones I know.
I walked over to the entrance doors. To my surprise, the entrance doors weren't chained and padlocked. I paused, considering whether I should go inside or not. A part of me was urging me to get back in the truck and drive away. For all I knew, I was trespassing for coming here.
However, another part of me urged to go inside. There had to be a reason as to why this place was abandoned. Plus, since this looked to be an old location, there might be something here that might give me an idea as to what happened. Maybe it might shed some light as to what was going on.
I sighed. 'I might as well check it out. Wouldn't hurt to do so.'
I grabbed the metal bars for each door and pulled. Surprisingly, the doors opened easily. A rush of cold, musty air hit me in the face as the doors swung open. I shivered a little before stepping inside, the doors closing behind me.
As soon as the doors closed, I surveyed my surroundings. To my dismay, the room was dark. If anything, the whole darn place was incredibly dark, aside from small beams of light shining in. I turned on my phone, switching on the flashlight for it. I shined the light throughout the room. My eyes widened slightly.
The room was huge with blue-and-red tiled floors furnished with six tables lined up in three rows. The tables themselves are covered in white tablecloths decorated with confetti patterns. In the middle of the tables, lined up in a row, are different colored party hats, no doubt in case for parties. Chairs lined the tables on both sides. In the far-right corner of the room was what looked to be a show stage with another with purple-starred curtains at the far end. There were small, along with large, holes in the ceiling. The room looked decayed and moldy, possibly from all the weather getting in over the years, along with the passing of time.
'Is this a dining room?' I thought to myself. 'More importantly, what is this place?'
I walked around the room, taking in more of the place. To the left of the room, there were 3 hallways leading to different parts of the building. I couldn't help but wonder what was down those halls. I walked past the tables, making sure I didn't bump into any of the chairs.
I approached the doorway in the middle. It looked to be a hallway with drawings, possibly done by children, littering the left side of the wall. Something in my gut told me not to go down there. I pushed the feeling aside. I began walking down the hall.
As I walked, I surveyed the drawings. Some of them were good, some of them were poorly drawn. Many of them depicted kids with some of the mascots of this pizzeria. Some of them had words like 'My Fun Day at Freddy's' while some didn't. I had to admit; they looked a bit adorable.
I looked to see that I reached the end of the hall. I looked to my right to see a doorway leading into a small room. I stepped inside, surveying the layout of the place.
The room appeared to be a small, compact room with a desk pressed up against the wall. On the desk sat a few electronic monitoring devices, along with a fan. Wires streamed up to the ceiling from the monitoring devices. Drawings done by children littered the wall, just like the hallway behind me. Under the desk was a large speaker. Just like the rest of the building, the small room looked decayed and molding from age.
'This might be the office,' I thought to myself. I looked closely at the desk.
There looked to be four newspaper articles lying on top of each other. They were slightly moldy and wet from the passing of time, as well as the weather. I felt the strong need to read them, though something told me that reading them would be impossible.
I walked over to the desk, looking closely at the one at the top. I was slightly relieved to see that the newspaper looked eligible to read. I picked up the newspaper with my left hand and began to read its contents, shining the light down on it so I could read it.
KIDS VANISH AT LOCAL PIZZERIA -
BODIES NOT FOUND
Two local children were reportedly lured into a back room
during the late hours of operation at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
on the night of June 26th. While video surveillance identified
the man responsible and led to his capture the following morning,
the children themselves were never found and are presumed dead.
Police think that the suspect dressed up as a company
mascot to earn the kid's trust.
It took everything I had within to keep myself from dropping the newspaper. I couldn't believe what I just read. Two local children had disappeared in this place and were never found. Though I was relieved the police arrested the guy, I was horrified about the fact they never found the bodies.
I felt my heart drop. Kids disappeared at the Pizzaplex, just like how the kids disappeared here in this pizzeria. The thing was that it was a man that was responsible for the disappearances at this pizzeria whereas a Vanessa, who was a woman, was responsible for the disappearances at the Pizzaplex.
'Could the man responsible be William Afton?' I thought to myself. 'I'll read the rest. See if anything else happened.'
I put the newspaper back down on the desk and picked up the second newspaper. I began to read its contents. Even though every part of me was begging me to not read it, I pushed that feeling aside and forced myself to read what was the newspaper, feeling the need to know more.
LOCAL PIZZERIA THREATENED WITH
SHUTDOWN OVER SANITATION
Local pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been threatened again
with shutdown by the health department over reports of foul
odor coming from the much-loved animal mascots.
Police were contacted when parents reportedly noticed what
appeared to be blood and mucus around the eyes and mouths
of the mascots. One parent linked them to 'reanimated corpses'.
I felt the urge to throw up upon reading this. To think that this happened was beyond belief. Not only that, but the pizzeria being threatened with shutdown because of their presumed sanitation job made the whole thing 10x worse.
The part that bothered me the most was when parents complained about foul odor coming from the mascots, along with the blood and mucus leaking out from their eyes and mouths. I was pretty sure that wasn't supposed to be a thing when it comes to mascots. It didn't seem possible for that to happen. Unless…
My eyes widened as a wave of horror washed over me. For that to be possible, someone, most likely the man responsible, had stuffed the bodies of the missing kids into the mascots. The thought of that made me sick to my stomach.
'What kind of monster will do such a thing?' I thought to myself in disgust. 'Maybe it was William Afton who did this. There's no one else out there who could've done it.'
I put down the second newspaper and picked up the third newspaper. I began to read.
FIVE CHILDREN NOW REPORTED MISSING.
SUSPECT CONVICTED.
Five children are now linked to the incident at Freddy Fazbear's
Pizza, where a man dressed as a cartoon mascot lured them into a
back room.
While the suspect has been charged, the bodies themselves were
never found.
"It's like they vanished out of thin air," one grieving parent said.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been fighting an uphill battle ever since
to convince families to return to the pizzeria.
"It's a tragedy," one parent said.
I felt anger bubble up inside me. Five children?! It may not have been as bad as the number of kids that went missing at the Mega Pizzeplex, but to know something similar happened God knows when at this place was the most disgusting thing I'd ever learned.
Not only that, but the pizzeria has tried to convince families to come back to the restaurant even after what happened, maybe even the parents who lost their kids. I felt my anger grow at this very thought.
'Are they that stupid?!' I thought angrily. 'Who in their right mind would come back to the very place where mascots are leaking blood and mucus, which would put their health at risk?!'
Keeping the anger at bay, I put the newspaper back down and picked up the last one. I began to read.
LOCAL PIZZERIA SAID TO CLOSE
BY YEAR'S END.
After a long struggle to stay in business after the tragedy that took
place there many years ago, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has announced
that it will close its doors by the end of the year.
Despite a year-long search for a buyer, companies seem
unwilling to be associated with the company.
"These characters will live on. In the hearts of children,
these characters will live on." - CEO
I stared at the newspaper, feelings of anger and hatred flowing through me. While I was relieved the place closed, the fact that 5 innocent children were robbed of their life was awful.
Thinking about that, my eyes went wide as tears built up. My grip on the paper loosened. It fell out of my hands, landing on the floor with a soft thud. My anger skyrocketed as that meant only one thing.
'They… they were murdered,' I thought to myself, the tears now streaming down my face. 'The kids were murdered. My little sister… all of those kids here and at Pizzaplex… murdered! Killed by the same man who's trying to hack Roxanne!'
"No… no…" I repeated, my voice growing louder. "Lisa… my little sister… William Afton… you bastard…"
I didn't want to believe it, but there was no use. What happened 10 years ago was similar to what happened here. Plus, there was the fact that I heard Lisa's voice in my head on the night of the date. That animatronic that I've seen several times already… could it really be… her? Was her soul trapped in that mascot? It couldn't be true… it couldn't…
I felt something powerful snap within me. Rage I've never felt before flowed throughout my body. My body began shaking, my hands clenched into fists. My vision blurred as the tears streamed down my face like a waterful.
"You… You… YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" I screamed in fury at nothing. "HOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHING SO CRUEL?! WHY DID YOU TAKE MY LITTLE SISTER AWAY FROM ME?! SHE DIDN'T DESERVE IT! IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME! GIVE HER BACK! GIVE… HER… BACK!"
Screaming angrily, I raised my right arm and thrust it at one of the monitoring devices. The screen cracked from the blow. I lowered my arm back to my side. I stared at the screen angrily.
A new rush of rage flowed through me. With another cry, I swung my arm harshly. Everything on the desk came flying off its surface. I stared at them before another rush flowed through my body.
I cried out once as I balled my hands into fists. I slammed them on the desk, the furniture shaking slightly from the blow. I began breathing heavily as the rage faded away slowly. I began whimpering as a feeling of grief washed over me. I rested my forehead on my arms, breaking down completely.
Why… why did this have to happen? I couldn't understand why such a monster would do such a thing? What could William Afton benefit from murdering innocent children, even using someone to do their dirty work? It just didn't add up.
I lifted my head up, straightening up my posture as I did. I felt a desire build up within me. It was one I'd felt many times, except it was much stronger than the previous times I felt it.
'I'll make you pay for this, William Afton,' I thought bitterly to myself. 'You will pay for all of the pain and suffering you've caused.' I took a moment to calm myself. 'I better get out of here. There's no need for me to stay here anymore.'
With that, I turned around and walked out back the way I came, no longer wanting to be in this stupid place anymore.
I pulled into the driveway of my house. I turned off the ignition, sitting in my truck for the moment. As I sat in my truck, so many things were going through my mind.
Why the stupid company didn't tear the pizzeria down will forever be a mystery to me, but I was glad that they didn't. If they had, I never would've found out that they owned another location that had a similar incident happen there.
Not only that, but the police even arrested the one responsible for the kids going missing. To make matters worse, since the bodies were never found, I had no doubt in my mind that they were forced to let them go, probably because they didn't have them.
I thought about what one parent said in one of the newspapers. How they vanished out of thin air. That was exactly how the kids at the Pizzaplex disappeared, including my sister. They all vanished out of thin air.
I sighed.
'What a mess this all turned out to be,' I thought to myself. I stepped out of the truck, slamming the door shut. I tried to get what I learned out of my head as I approached the door.
I grabbed hold of the knob, twisting it until I couldn't anymore. I opened the door and stepped inside, closing the door behind me. I surveyed the living room to see Roxanne Wolf still sitting on the recliner chair with Peter sitting beside her on the floor.
They looked in my direction. A smile spread across the wolf's face as she hopped off the chair and walked over to me.
"You're back!" she exclaimed happily, wrapping her arms around me. "How was the drive?"
"It was okay," I replied softly as I returned the hug. I didn't want to tell her what I found. Not yet, anyway. I looked at Peter. "How was she?"
Peter smiled. "She was okay, for the most part. She couldn't stop worrying about you, hoping that you would be okay."
I nodded as we ended the hug. Something told me that there was more. I decided not to push it, in case nothing else happened while I was away. Peter got up and walked over to me. Once he got about a foot away from me, I rested my right hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you for keeping an eye on her," I said gratefully. "I owe you one."
He chuckled. "Don't worry about it. It was the least I can do for you. Have a great rest of your day, Mihael."
I nodded. With that, Peter walked over to the front door. He opened the door and walked out, closing the door behind him.
Author's Note:
Here is the twenty-second chapter of Robotic Love! :D
Were you guys expecting the old location from the first game to make an appearance? This was planned from the very beginning. It looks like Mihael had learned a thing or two about the company's past. Honestly, I'm happy with how this turned out.
Be ready for Chapter Twenty-Three because something big will happen in it. I can't say what, but I'm sure you guys have a general idea of what will happen in the next chapter. ;)
That's all for now. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. All constructive criticism is appreciated, notify me for any inconsistencies, and I will see guys in the next chapter! Only four more to go! :)
