(A/n: this is what Katherine looks like Katherine Moore by Alexpulido97 on DeviantArt)
A typical day when school is over, and the children come out to play in the empty street of the neighborhood. Most children can get carried away when they play their outdoor games. For example, like kick ball with that one kid who has a kick that can get strong, and everyone has to immediately move out of the way to avoid getting hit. The kid wearing a striped shirt and black shorts kicked the ball moving to the right to a house where a woman was getting out of locking her door almost hit her head and broke her porch light. "Sorry, Ms. Moore!" Said the kid. "Way to go. We need to work on your aim. Again!" Said the girl with red frizzy hair. "Move to a park or an open field." Said the woman going to her car. She looked around and under her car since she moved there have been times kids played on her front yard and around her car. The woman got in honking her horn to tell the kids she is moving into the road which made them scatter. She drove into the middle of town to an unopened restaurant named, Moore Delight. The building is still under renovations and inspections for the usual like mold or rodents that kind of thing. "Katherine." Said a man wearing a dress suit and pants with nice shoes approach her with the clipboard. "What do you have better be good news?" Said Katherine. She looked at him then at the board seeing names and positions of work that she is looking for when they both heard an electrical noise with yells.
"Tarence?!" said Katherine looking at the double doors where a young man walked in with his hair smoking and his face covered in dark smudge coughing out a black smoke "I'm going to go home." said Tarence walking slowly away. "Hospital. Have you gotten the wood samples yet?" said the man. "I'll do that while i go get a new porch light. Grab the resumes from my office to review. Make some samples and get some volunteers." said Katherine walking past him to the back through the kitchen to a locked door unlocking it with her key. She went in going to her desk picking a small stack of papers that were left by her computer and check on her fax machine for anything that was sent before she left the works do their job. Getting to the hardware grabbing a hand basket walking down the electrical aisle looking at the porch lights that are displayed. "Dang it. They're out. Will the Solars do?" Katherine told herself looking at the shelf full of them. "If you want kids to break them or get stolen?" said a voice behind her. "I already got my porch light broken today and amlost got a rubber ball to the face. not the first time since i moved in." said Katherine. She then turned to see a man dressed in all black including his face except his eyes were yellow. "Well, no lights for me. Thanks." said Katherine smiling at him.
She walked over to the customer service for lumber seeing a long line and found another employee was coming to cut the line being the first. "How can i help you?" said the woman looking at her with a smile. "Hi. I'm Katherine Moore. Do you perhaps have my wood samples ready?" said Katherine. "Let me see here." said the woman typing on her computer. "Yes. We have here your request. Let me go grab them from the back. Wait right here. Be back shortly." said the woman. She left the counter looking at the resumes on the counter and hummed on thought pulling out her phone from her purse making a call. "Hi. Is this Cree Lincoln?" said Katherine. "This is she. Who's this?" said a girls voice. "Its Katherine Moore. The manager and owner of Moore Delight. I hope im not bothering you at this time." said Katherine flipping through some other resumes. "Not at all. Is this about the position as the waitress?" said Cree. "Im actually calling to ask for a favor. You already know that th restaurant is under renovations and im looking for some help on making and offering samples. Would you mind helping me out and bring along some friends. Im willing to pay five bucks an hour and bonus for good reviews. Are you interested?" said Katherine. "Of course. how can i help?" said Cree. "Would you mind stopping by at my house in an hour if i get my wood samples. got a pen and paper?" said Katherine then heard some rustling and yelling along with a door slamming.
She then told her address and made another call after Cree agreed to meet her at her home then told the person the same thing she told Cree. "Alright meet and the others there." said Kathrine hanging up. "Excuse me?" said a tiny voice. Katherine looked down seeing a round boy with a beanie, pilot googles, blue shirt and beige pants holding her wallet. "Oh my god. Thank you." said KAtherte checking everything was inside. "Tommy?!" said a voice. "Over here Hoagie." said Tommy waving to an older boy similar to him coming out of the tools nuts and bolts section. "I told you not to wonder off." said Hoagie as an old woman in blue dress scream at them. "Bye lady." said Hoagie taking Tommy's hand dragging him away. "Heres your wood samples." said the woman coming back with her samples. "Thank you." said Katherine taking them putting them in her purse along with her wallet. She walked out to see the man from before loading his car which looked classic and vintage. "1954 Buick Sedan. Haven't seen open since my son crashed it." said Katherine having the man close his trunk to see her. "Yeah. Never wanted leave this sitting in the garage." said the man walking over to look at Katherines view. "You mentioned that you moved in? How long you been here?" said the man. "Not long time passes for me. I just been going home and getting my restaurant ready. I was about to leave to make samples and give them out." said Katherine. "Really. Well, how about i help you with that? Mind if i call you when you got time." said the man. "Of course." said Katherine writing her number down on her notepad and handed it to him. "Katherine Moore. Lovely name for a lovely woman like you. Im Benedict." said the man shaking her hand. "Looking forward to seeing and your friends around Benedict." said Katherine walking to her car. "Same here, Katherine." said Benedict walking her leave.
