Secret Origins - Part 2

All of the windows of the TCRI building started lighting up.

Alex and the Turtles stood on what they later learn is a transmat device as it lit up and they started dematerialising before a blue beam of light shot across space and into another galaxy.

"I must say, the past several weeks have been the most crazy weeks of my entire life up till now. Firstly, we ended up being transported to another galaxy."

Alex, the Turtles and Mona Lisa were all running away from the Spasmosaur in the Tri-Sports Arena on the Triceraton Homeworld.

"Where we encountered proper alien life and civilisations."

Then the blue beam of light entered back into the TCRI building, Alex, the Turtles, Mona and Honeycutt appeared on the transmat, most of them taking off the helmets of the Triceraton spacesuits they wore.

"Yahoo!" Mikey cheered.

Four Utroms flew out of their exo-suits and landed on pads of a large machine.

Splinter, fully well and healthy, turned to his sons.

"Then we found ourselves back on Earth, thanks to these aliens called Utroms, who also healed Master Splinter back to full health."

Rebecca embraced Alex, who was crying.

"And, most shocking, I find out that I have a mother, who was the female Guardian we've met numerous times before."

Alopex and Tiger Claw bowed.

"And the two mutants that were with the Guardians and Utroms are named Alopex and Tiger Claw, who were trained by my mom."

Mortu then took Alex, the Turtles, Splinter, Mona, Honeycutt, Rebecca, Alopex and Tiger Claw to the Oracle Pod Chamber.

Alex, the Turtles and Splinter then entered the six pods, which closed up.

Mortu then pressed buttons on a panel and small devices planted themselves on the heads of the family of six before they closed their eyes.

They then found themselves on the bridge of an Utrom ship, seeing the past version of Mortu among some other Utroms. The ship was also approaching Earth.

"We then ended up connected to the Utroms' Oracle Pod, which allows us to experience high-tech virtual reality and witness the history of the Utroms firsthand."

Mortu then hovered right through Mikey as he stared down a red Utrom held in restraints in a tank, who cackled.

The ship then crashed towards Earth, Mortu trying to pull the ship up, only to have the ship crash on the shore of pre-Feudal era Japan.

"We saw how Mortu and the Utroms were transporting a prisoner, who damaged their ship, resulting in them crashing down on Earth, in pre-Feudal Japan."

Alex, the Turtles and Splinter stood among the Utroms, who were camped by the crashed ship, the three navigators in a tank.

Mortu then activated a hologram that showed a map with a course to the Utrom homeworld. He then looked up at the night sky.

"Now marooned, they had to wait for centuries until Earth's technology was advanced enough for them to build a way to get back home."

A version of Shredder and some of his Foot Ninjas then appeared.

"We even saw the Shredder. Who is clearly the same one we fought against, though my brothers don't want to believe that."

Mikey then walked through the Shredder.

And, much to their confusion and horror, Alex, the Turtles and Splinter had their weapons vanish and now trapped in the virtual reality.

"Uh-oh!" Mikey gulped before getting hit in the chest by the Shredder, being knocked unconscious and landed near some bamboo trees.

"Then the worst possible thing happened. We became part of the story and our weapons have vanished. And the Shredder severely hurt Mikey!"

The Foot Ninjas then surrounded everyone, Alex, Leo, Raph and Donnie ready to fight, while Splinter checked on Mikey.

"Now we have to fight in order to ensure we don't die in both virtual reality and actual reality. Since this is very much like The Matrix."

The ninjas all started closing in on the family of six.

"My son, can you hear me?" Splinter pleaded. "Michelangelo?"

In the Pod Chamber, Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona Lisa were staring at Mikey's vital signs in horror while Mortu, Honeycutt and Rebecca worked on the control panel.

"Guys, Mikey's condition is getting critical!" Mona cried out.

"Can't you just pull them out of the virtual reality system?" Tiger Claw asked Mortu.

"We're trying." Mortu said frantically. "The system is locked up!"

"All of them are not responding. This shouldn't be happening!" Rebecca explained with concern.

"Oh, how could this have gone so horribly wrong?" Honeycutt questioned.

"The only way I can think of is that it was sabotaged!" Alopex snarled angrily and started looking around.

Elsewhere in the chamber, Stockman crawled away, soon going up a wall with his left eye, now a lens, lit up as he chuckled smugly.

Back in the virtual reality, Alex, Leo, Raph and Donnie stared down at the ninjas, getting ready to fight them.

"Steady guys, this is about to get ugly." Leo told his brothers.

"It always gets ugly." Alex snarled, ready to give these ninjas a taste of their own medicine.

"This shouldn't be happening! This is supposed to be virtual reality!" Donnie expressed his concerns as three ninjas surrounded him.

One charged at him, but he stepped aside and kicked him in the side.

"They're not supposed to be able to…" He continued, ducking under another ninja's katana before kicking him in the face to knock him back. "...see us…" He then backflipped, kicking the first ninja's katana out of his hand, which Alex caught, knocking the ninja down as well. "...let alone attack us!"

A ninja tried slicing at Raph with his katana, but grabbed his forearms and then pinned one of them behind his back while holding the arm with the katana.

"Come on, ladies, let's dance!" He dared two other ninjas.

He stepped back while still holding the ninja as the two ninjas approached, their katanas raised over their heads. They's strikes were blocked by Raph until he knocked their katanas out of their hands.

Raph then broke the hand of the ninja he's holding, making them drop their katana, before shocking at the other two ninjas and kicking them all back.

Alex stared down four ninjas that faced him.

They all charged at him and he charged at them, sliding between them, slicing at the legs of two of them before he handsprung and kicked the two in the back of their heads, knocking them down.

He then dealt with the other two in quick succession, slicing their forearms, striking nerve endings that made them drop their katanas and butterfly kicked them, which made them spin in the air until they crashed on the ground.

A ninja threw four shurikens towards Donnie, who spun and jumped to dodge them, making him smile before four sliced bamboo poles hit his head, making him yelp "Ow!" repeatedly.

Then a ninja who wore a different mask from the rest, clearly the one in charge, lowered his katana, which was an order for more of them to attack.

"Leonardo, we must become shadows." Splinter advised Leo, who jumped and kicked away a couple of ninjas.

"Guys, time to disappear!" Leo called out to his brothers. "Raph, get Mikey and head for the bamboo!"

Raph turned to grab Mikey while Alex and Donnie knocked a couple of ninjas away.

Raph then placed Mikey on his shoulders.

"Alex, Don, you're with me!" Leo told the pair as Raph jumped back towards a bush and started running away.

Leo threw a ninja over his shoulder as Donnie kicked another back and Alex swept another off their feet and axe kicked them in the chest, slamming them onto the ground.

Splinter chopped through many bamboo poles with his bare hand and jumped up.

"Leonardo, Donatello, catch!" He called, kicking some of the poles towards his turtle sons.

Leo jumped up and grabbed a pair and Donnie did the same, grabbing a long pole that can stand in for his bo staff.

They landed next to Alex.

Donnie whacked three ninjas away at once.

Alex sliced his katana with such speed he sliced the blades of a couple of ninjas, shocking them, which allowed him to spin kick them in the face, knocking them back.

Leo swung one of the poles, hitting another couple and knocking them back. Then he blocked and knocked back a third all at once. And knocked the katana out of a fourth's grip before whacking them in the face.

The ninja in charge stood in stunned shock that his men were being beaten with ease as more came in from behind him.

But then they all moved back as Shredder appeared, which was noticed by Alex, Leo and Donnie.

"Great, here comes the cheesegrater, himself." Alex snarled, pointing his katana at him.

Three ninjas then appeared with bows, firing arrows at the trio, but Alex was fast enough to slice the arrows in mid-air.

"These guys may not be real, but they mean business." Donnie gulped.

"Let's go!" Leo ordered.

The three jumped over some bamboo poles and into the forest as more arrows were shot, missing them.

Some ninjas cut their way through, but found no sign of the three.

"Send some men to watch the road through the forest. They won't get far." Shredder ordered his men.

His second in command and a few others turned and left while Shredder turned to the rest of his ninjas.

"You others, come with me!" He snarled as he walked past them and they started following him. "I have important business in the village."

Unbeknownst to all of them, Alex, Leo and Donnie watched from above in a tree they were hiding up in.

"You two go find the others and make sure they're okay." Alex told Leo and Donnie. "I'll follow shredhead and see what this important business is."

"Got it." Leo nodded as Alex jumped down from the tree and ran off after the Shredder.

Back in the Pod Chamber, Honeycutt, Rebecca and Mortu were continuing to work on the control panel while Alopex, Tiger Claw and Mona started looking around for where the source of the problems were coming from.

"Why don't we just shut the system down?" Honeycutt suggested.

"It would be the case under normal circumstances, but like Alopex said, it's been sabotaged." Rebecca pointed out, sounding stressed and concerned.

"Meaning that the slightest disruption or energy spike could destroy them." Mortu further explained. "We must disconnect their minds from the memory pods carefully. But it will take time. Let us hope they can survive that long."

"Over here! I found the problem!" Tiger Claw called out and the three ran to where he was.

Within the virtual reality, three blacksmiths were in the middle of carving a sword on the edge of a village.

Suddenly, Shredder appeared and came towards them with his ninjas.

They stopped working and approached the Shredder, one of them carrying something wrapped in a cloth, and all three bowed.

Alex watched all this from high up on a tree branch as the Shredder approached the blacksmiths.

"Swordsmith, is it finished?" Shredder asked.

"Hai, tono-sama." One of the blacksmiths said, standing up with the item wrapped in cloth, walking up to Shredder. "I made the blade, just as you requested."
He then crouched down and unwrapped the cloth, revealing a sword blade.

"The metal is amazing." The blacksmith said before lifting the blade up. "I have never seen its like before."

"Nor will you ever again." Shredder sneered as he took the blade. "Let us just say the metal fell from the heavens." He then pulled out a handle that Alex recognised instantly, making his eyes widen with shock.

Shredder put the blade in the handle, making the Sword of Tengu, which started powering up and freaking out the blacksmiths.

"Just as the ninja said to have descended from goblins, behold the Goblin Sword! The Sword of Tengu!" Shredder declared, holding the sword up, leaving Alex in utter shock and horror to see the creation of this very weapon.

The blacksmiths stood and backed away in fear.

"And now for your payment." Shredder then sneered before firing a blast from the sword, hitting one of the blacksmiths, who crashed into the other two and all of them crashed right through the wall behind them, leaving a large hole.

"The sword is perfect!" Shredder complimented as the sword powered down. "With it, my enemies will not be able to hide! I will find them and destroy them!"
He then laughed evilly as Alex remembered when Shredder bragged about the sword during the fight at Foot headquarters, further backing up his suspicion that this Shredder is indeed the same Shredder they fought against in the present.

Elsewhere, in the bamboo forest, the Turtles and Splinter remained in hiding, Leo keeping watch while Splinter still looked after Mikey, who was still unconscious.

They heard some rustling nearby and looked to see Alex walk out from the bamboo trees.

"How's Mikey?" He asked Splinter.

"Ugh, we must be careful. Michelangelo is not well. And I fear that, in this dream world, if we believe we have died, then we will truly die." Splinter explained gravely.

"Well, that's gonna be difficult, because the Shredder just created the Sword of Tengu." Alex replied, leaving everyone shocked, Splinter's eyes wide with horror.

"This is not good." Splinter concluded.

Outside of TCRI, the military were now starting to make progress in trying to get inside the building.

Four soldiers made their way towards the front door with a battering ram.

"Alright, here we go." One of them said as they stood in front of the door and swung the ram back and forth. "One, two, three!"

They banged against the door, which didn't even shatter or have a scratch on it, which left them speechless.

Then metal sliders cover not just the door, but also all of the ground floor windows, followed by every other window in the building.

"What the -?" The general in charge said in disbelief before snarling in frustration. "My orders are to get into that building, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do." He then grabbed a cellphone from the soldier next to him. "All units, open fire!"

Every single soldier started firing their weapons at the building, using their own guns, bazookas, even tank shells, all creating a smokescreen by the front door.

"Cease fire! Cease fire!" The general barked.

Everyone stopped firing and when the smokescreen cleared, they were all stunned to see that there wasn't even the smallest of scratches on the metal sliders.

"I don't believe it. We're gonna need some heavy ordinance." The general then said, dialling a number on the phone and pressed it against his ear. "I want Comanche One airbourne now!"

Back in the Pod Chamber, Mortu and Honeycutt were working on the wires and circuitry from behind the panel that Stockman sabotaged when the holographic image of the council appeared.

"Mortu -" The chubby one started.

" - we are under -" The elderly man continued.

" - attack." The woman finished. "This location -"

" - is no longer -" The chubby man continued.

" - viable." The elderly man finished. "We are -"

" - surrounded." The woman finished. "We have no -"

" - choice." The chubby man finished. "We must -"

" - now use the transmat -" The elderly man continued.

" - and return home." The woman finished.

"Our preliminary defences are holding. We must save Alexander, the Turtles and their master. They are under our care." Mortu insisted.

"Are their lives -" The chubby man started.

" - more important -" The elderly man continued.

" - than the lives of the Utroms?" The woman finished.

"All life is precious, Council." Mortu argued.

"True - " The chubby man started.

" - but remember, Mortu -" All three said in unison.

" - you have a great responsibility -" The chubby man continued.

" - to your fellow Utroms." The elderly man finished.

"The burden is heavy." The woman pointed out.

"But you must bare it." All three said in unison.

"I - I understand, Council." Mortu replied before the hologram deactivated.

"You can't abandon our friends!" Honeycutt begged.

"We won't. We'll save them." Rebecca swore as she approached.

"And ourselves, of course." Mortu muttered.

In the virtual world, Alex, the Turtles and Splinter still camped in the bamboo forest, Splinter still looking after Mikey.

When he touched his head, Mikey started groaning and gaining some consciousness.

"Master Splinter, is it time to eat?" He mumbled with his eyes opening for a moment before closing and fell unconscious again.

"Of course the first thing he thinks of is food." Alex chuckled slightly, seeing that Mikey was getting better.

But then everyone heard swords clashing, along with a woman's scream.

"You guys hear that?" Donnie asked everyone.

"A fight in the forest." Splinter deduced.

"Over the hill, to the north." Leo said.

"Go, investigate, I will stay and look after your brother." Splinter instructed his sons.

They all bowed and ran off to investigate, Raph having gotten two bamboo poles to stand in for his sais.

Eventually, they peeked through some bamboo poles and saw some Foot Ninjas attacking a small family for no reason whatsoever on the road, consisting of an elderly man, a young woman and a boy.

"No, leave us alone!" The elderly man begged.

"Stay back!" The young woman warned, wielding a double bladed weapon.

The boy whimpered as he stood back to back with the elderly man.

A Foot Ninja tried slicing at the woman, who blocked his attack with her weapon and knocked him away before slicing a second in the chest, leaving a deep cut.

"You know I'm really starting to hate these old school Foot Ninjas as much as I hate the modern day versions." Raph snarled.

"Same here, even back then, they lacked any and all honour and respect." Alex agreed with him as he watched on with contempt.

The woman then blocked a ninja's katana with her grip before launching him onto the ground.

"She's good, I like her." Donnie admitted.

"What do you say we lend a hand?" Leo suggested.

Donnie pulled out his pole and Alex pulled out his katana as the four of them ran to help.

But then they stopped when they saw a pair of men jump out from a tree, landing among some of the Foot Ninjas, both slicing one away each.

"What the -?" Alex muttered as his brothers gasped.

One of these men, whose hair was all tied up, leaving his head bald, sliced at another Foot Ninja in the legs knocking them onto the ground.

"All sorts of bozos are coming to this party." Raph noted, scratching his head.

"A few too many, in fact!" Alex pointed out, as he spotted some more Foot Ninjas charging at the family and the two men.

The other one, whose brown hair was tied up, got knocked back by a couple of Foot Ninjas.

The man with the near bald head blocked another ninja's katana before elbowing another away and then blocked a third ninja's katana.

Leo pulled out one of his bamboo poles before he and his brothers charged in to help out.

They all leapt and they kicked some ninjas away, Alex split kicking a couple right in the face, breaking their noses.

The woman then blocked a ninja's katana with the handle of her weapon before pushing them away.

But another Foot Ninja with a kusarigama threw the chain at her from behind as she turned, Leo spotting this.

The woman gasped upon noticing and Leo stuck out one of his poles, making the chain wrap around it. The woman, having closed her eyes, opened them, watching Leo tug on the pole, making the Foot Ninja crash into the ground.

Leo jumped over another that tried slicing at him, pushing his hands on the ground to flip in the air and split kicked a couple of ninjas that approached the woman, making them crash through some bamboo trees.

Alex faced three ninjas all at once, who all charged at him. He flipped over them, knocking their katanas away before he landed behind them, kicking one of them right in the back, knocking them away before he slashed at another's back and then at the other's legs before punching the back of their heads, making them fall face first into the ground.

Donnie spun his pole over his head, whacking away any ninjas that charged at him and then he tripped another by whacking their legs.

Raph pulled out the poles from his belt, but they were sliced by a ninja's katana and again when he jumped over their second slice.

He then kicked them away.

"Looks like I'm doing this the old fashioned way." He muttered as he threw away his sliced poles.

He jumped onto a cart, stomping on one end, making the other hit a ninja under the chin and knock them away.

Raph then leapt in the air and did a series of kicks into another ninja's chest before knocking them away and landing among his brothers.

Seeing they were being defeated easily by the four brothers, the Foot Ninjas all got up and ran away.

Leo and Donnie threw their poles away and Donnie high threed Raph as Alex and Leo high threed/fived.

"Turtles kick serious ninja butt, even in ancient Japan." Donnie grinned as Raph high threed Leo and Alex high threed/fived Donnie.

"Stay away, evil goblins!" The elderly man cried out, pointing at the Turtles. "Ahh! Save us!"

The two men turned to Alex and the Turtles.
"Save us from the green kappa and their slave! Goblins! Goblins!" The elderly man screamed as the boy hugged the woman.

"Seriously, we just helped save your lives and you think we're evil! How does that even work?" Alex groaned as the two men approached him and his brothers.

The elderly man then put the boy on the cart and started pulling it to leave.

"Come, Oni-san, we go!" He barked at the woman, who bowed to Alex and the Turtles, seeing that they were just trying to help, before leaving with her family.

As the two men approached them, the four brothers stepped back.

"Look, we were only trying to help." Leo explained to them.

"We don't want to fight you." Donnie tried to reason with them.

"Although I like fighting." Raph said, punching his fist.

"Don't, Raph. Fighting isn't the answer for everything." Alex told Raph off before turning to the two men. "I know it may be hard to believe, but these three aren't kappa." He then noticed their medallions and realised who they were. "And we happen to know of the Utroms."

This made them step back with shock.

"The Utrom?" The brown haired man questioned.

"How do they know of the Utrom?" The nearly bald man asked him.

"Of course, that's where I've seen that medallion before, on the Guardians!" Leo said, coming to the same realisation as Alex. "Our friends here must be an early incarnation of the Guardians."

"Look, we know of the Utroms because we're on their side, as well." Alex told the two Guardians. "We're stuck here just like them, and we think they can help us. So can you please tell them we need to talk?"

The two Guardians looked at each other, like they were having a silent conversation.

"We will tell them." The brown haired Guardian replied before they turned and put their katanas away.

"Wait! But how will we find you?" Donnie asked them.

"If our masters agree to an audience, they will find you." The nearly bald Guardian answered before he and the other Guardian turned and walked away.

In the TCRI building, mainly the security room, an Utrom stood in an exo-suit.

Nearby, on one of the walls, Stockman opened a vent cover and crawled his way to the floor, where he stopped as the Utrom walked out of the room.

Once he was gone, Stockman crawled towards the controls, where a small tentacle popped out of his front and inserted into the controls via a socket, allowing him to hack into the system.

His head then opened itself out.

"Stockman here, phase two is complete. Security is down, thanks to my genius." He bragged through his comms before he was electrocuted by red lighting.

"OW! SORRY, SORRY!" He cried out and the lightning stopped. "I should know better, Master. I have detected an underground passage that should allow you and your men to enter the building, unseen."

Stockman crawled towards another socket.

"I'll deactivate the security in that sector and commence with phase three." He said as he plugged in, making the tube in the centre of the room change colour from blue to red.

Outside of the TCRI building, the military still surrounded the building with the general on the phone.

"The area's been cleared, Comanche One. Knock on the front door!" He ordered.

He looked up and saw a helicopter approaching.

"Roger that, hold onto your hats and hairpieces." The pilot acknowledged. "It's gonna be big."

He locked onto the front door and fired two missiles at it,

Upon hitting the door, a smokescreen obstructed everyone's view, while also causing the whole building to shake.

Everyone got thrown off their feet in the Pod Chamber and got up as the room stopped shaking.

"Oh, dear! That can't be good." Honeycutt gulped.

"Looks like whoever sabotaged the pods also sabotaged security." Rebecca frowned.

"But who would do this?" Mona asked.

Back outside, once the smoke cleared, everyone saw that the door was finally breached.

"That did it, all units move in!" The general ordered.

"Go, go, go!" A soldier barked as the rest all ran towards the door.

"Let's roll!" Another soldier barked as a squad entered the building.

Back in the Pod Chamber, everyone looked towards the pods, where a holographic screen appeared, showing the Council again.

"Mortu, there has been -" The chubby man started.

" - security breach -" The elderly man continued.

" - and internal security control is not responding." The woman finished.

"We must leave at once." All three insisted in unison.

"I understand, Council." Mortu nodded, and the holographic screen vanished as he turned to a fellow Utrom in an exo-suit by the controls. "Deploy the security robots."

"Yes, sir." The Utrom nodded.

Mortu then ripped off the human disguise, leaving only the exo-suit.

"Instruct the transmat room to prepare for immediate evacuation." Mortu then ordered.

"But you must free our friends!" Honeycutt begged.

"Of course, Professor Honeycutt. We will not abandon them." Mortu reassured him.

"Isn't there supposed to be an internal failsafe in there somewhere they can activate?" Alopex asked Mortu, looking at Alex with concern.

"There is, it's too much to hope for " Mortu replied, sounding unsure.

In the virtual reality, Alex, Leo, Donnie and Raph ran through the bamboo forest to where Splinter was.

And upon reaching their destination, they were shocked to find Mikey up and about, eating sushi while Splinter merely watched.

"Welcome back, bros." Mikey greeted them before eating a sushi roll. "Anyone for sushi?"

The four all greeted him with delight, seeing he was okay as they sat down with their brother and Splinter.

"Aw, Mikey, you bum. I'm glad you're okay." Raph said as he ruffled Mikey's head before sitting down.

"Mikey, uh, you know, not a molecule of that food is real? It's all part of this illusion." Donnie then pointed out.

"Yeah, I know…" Mikey replied, taking another sushi roll. "...but right now, it's real enough for me."

"Mikey, you're a genius!" Alex grinned as he and Splinter looked at each other, both coming to the same conclusion.

"I am?" Mikey asked, surprised.

"Yes, the answer, it is -" Splinter said, but stopped when everyone heard rustling.

They looked and saw the two Guardians appear, making all of them stand up.

Then the Guardians stepped away and an exo-suit appeared in a kimono and hat.

"Greetings." The Utrom said as he opened the kimono to reveal his face. "I am Mortu."

Alex, the Turtles and Splinter all bowed with their hands together.

"Mr. Mortu, you're just the person we need to talk to." Alex told the Utrom, who raised an eye, curious about what they needed to talk to him about.

Within the TCRI building, an Utrom, still in their human disguise, walked past a door in the basement.

He was unaware that Stockman moved along a pipe on the ceiling before crawling down to a control panel next to the door.

He then pressed two buttons repeatedly, which opened up the door.

Stockman crawled down the wall as two of the Elite Guard and a shadowy figure stepped through into the basement.

Stockman opened his head and looked up at them.

"All is ready, Master. They don't suspect a thing." He said confidently.

In the virtual reality, Alex and Leo explained to Mortu everything that has happened to them and their family while the Guardians stood guard.

" - it was at that point that the pod story became real." Leo finished the explanation.

"Therefore, we're trapped in this virtual reality and can't get out." Alex concluded.

"I see. It is an interesting phenomenon." Mortu replied. "You have much knowledge of our ways, but your knowledge of the Shredder is incomplete. You should know, the Shredder is one of -"

He was cut off from sinister laughter, making everyone get up and turn to see several Foot Ninjas appear, along with the Shredder, who was currently wielding the Sword of Tengu.

"How fortuitous that I should find you here, Mortu." Shredder sneered. "Now I can display the true powers of the Sword of Tengu, for your amusement and your demise!"

The sword powered up and slashed the sword into the ground, causing a shockwave along the ground that hit Mortu's exo-suit, making him yell before he jumped out of it and everyone jumped away from it before it exploded.

Mortu crashed onto the ground with his head before flipping onto his tentacles. Then the two Guardians stood by Mortu, ready to protect him.

Shredder cackled before shooting a blast at the Guardians, sending them flying up into the trees.

Shredder then sent a shockwave through the ground at Alex, Leo, Donnie and Splinter, who were charging at him, knocking them back and crash onto the ground, Alex's katana knocked out of his hand,

Shredder sent yet another shockwave through the ground, hitting Splinter, who was thrown back.

Raph roared as he leapt at Shredder, who blasted at him and slammed him into the ground.

Leo jumped and landed by Raph, but before he could do anything, Shredder blasted at him, sending him flying towards Mikey and Donnie, skidding to a stop by their feet.

The three then jumped out of the way of another shockwave through the ground.

Shredder then approached Mortu, who watched in horror, laughing maniacally

Alex, meanwhile, approached Splinter.

"Sensei!" He cried before crouching next to him and gently waking him up. "You alright?"

"Alexander, listen, there is little time. Remember, this virtual reality is an illusion within an illusion. An illusion of the mind." Splinter explained as his sons all turned to him and Alex. "Control your mind and you will control the illusion.

"Got it, Sensei." Alex nodded, knowing what to do, having watched The Matrix.

He got up and turned to the Shredder, who raise the Sword of Tengu over his head, ready to strike down Mortu.

"Goodbye, Mortu!" Shredder sneered.

Alex took a deep breath and concentrated, making the sword vanish out of Shredder's hands.

"WHAT?" He questioned in horror. "WHERE IS THE SWORD OF TENGU?"

His answer came when it appeared in Alex's right hand, making his brothers watch on in amazement, as he glared at the Shredder.

"Right here, you pathetic cheapskate!" Alex snarled, pointing the sword at him.

"Whoa! How'd Alex do that?" Mikey questioned as Donnie scratched his head in confusion.

"Time for you to get a taste of your own medicine!" Alex spat as he powered up the sword and blasted a powerful shockwave, shooting through the ground, which cracked and broke apart, heading right for Shredder and his Foot Ninjas.

"NO!" Shredder screamed as his ninjas ran away before it hit him, sending him flying.

Alex twirled the Sword of Tengu before sending another powerful blast at Shredder, knocking him back again.

Ales then roared before he sent the most powerful blast yet, hitting Shredder and sending him through bamboo trees before falling down a cliff into a river below.

"NO!" He screamed before he hit the water.

Alex took a deep breath, feeling this was satisfactory to let out his anger at Shredder for killing his biological father.

He then snarled as he turned to the Foot Ninjas, holding the sword threateningly, making them gasp in horror before they scattered and ran away in fear.

Seeing that the fighting was now over, he concentrated again, making the Sword of Tengu vanish from his hand, before turning to his family.

"Alex, that was so badass!" Donnie grinned in amazement.

"Way to go, bro!" Mikey grinned as well as he placed a hand on Alex's shoulder.

"I guess it was time you had your moment with the Sword of Tengu." Leo smirked with folded arms.

They all then turned to the Guardians, one of whom held Mortu in his hands.

"Your actions demonstrate the veracity of what you say." Mortu noted as the other Guardian held out a black cube in his hand.

"Take this." He told the family, Leo grabbing it.

"It should help you return safely to where you belong." Mortu told them.

"But if we're in a virtual reality, then how can this affect the real world? Unless this is some kind of failsafe?" Alex questioned.

"Indeed, it is." Mortu said with a grin, seeing that Alex was smart enough to figure it out. "With this world being a virtual projection created by our own technology, we Utroms have encoded an internal failsafe that can be activated by using the virtual reset device you now possess."

"Here we go, I hope." Leo said, preparing to press the reset device.

"Goodbye and thank you." Splinter told Mortu, waving his hand before bowing.

"See you in a few hundred years." Raph said as he gave a thumbs up.

Leo pressed the device, which lit up brightly, consuming all six of them and making the Guardians look away.

"I must ask, is the Shredder the Utrom prisoner that made you crash on this planet?" Alex asked Mortu at the last minute, wondering if his suspicions were true.

"He is!" Mortu replied before everything went to white.

In the Pod Chamber, everyone watched as the devices came off of the family's heads and each pod opened up as they woke up.

"They're alright!" Alopex grinned as she, Tiger Claw, Mona and Rebecca approached to helm them out.

"They've done it!" Mortu gasped in shock, eyes wide. "They activated the internal failsafe, but how?"

"Well, you helped us." Leo replied as Tiger Claw helped him out of the pod.

"The virtual you, of course." Alex elaborated as Alopex ended up hugging him, which made him blush so much his cheeks were red.

"Well, I don't care how you got out." Honeycutt said as he and Rebecca helped Splinter out of his pod. "What matters is you're safe and sound."

"Still, I…." Mortu muttered, stroking his own face and his exo-suit's face. "I can't understand how the Oracle Pods malfunctioned."

"Oh, but I do!" A sinister voice sneered, shocking everyone except Honeycutt and Mona.

They all turned to the door to see the Shredder, accompanied by Hun, the Elite Guard and some regular Foot Ninjas.

"Of course! Why am I not surprised?" Alex growled. "Looks like even decapitation and dismemberment can't keep you down for good!" Of course, the recent confirmation about him being the Utrom prisoner made him realise that those things couldn't wipe him out.

"Maybe, but I will gladly extend to all of you such a courtesy, for none of you are leaving here alive!" Shredder spat.

"You've said such things before, and yet here we are. Looks like you'll be disappointed yet again!" Alex spat back.

"We'll see about that!" Shredder growled before he and his forces approached everyone.

I had to give Alex a moment with the Sword of Tengu.

And now he and his family know who the Shredder is.
