The following day...
City of Musutafu - Police Headquarters
Within a Conference Room…
Yuuki, Yuriko, Tsukauchi, Tanuma and a few other detectives were called for an urgent meeting.
As everyone took their seats around the conference room, the lead investigator stands before the assembled police officers.
"Alright. Everyone's here, good. Then let me get straight to the point: The police has been requested by the staff of U.A. High to offer extra security for their upcoming event: The U.A. Sports Festival." The veteran cop reveals, earning gasps and looks of shock, surprise, confusion and disbelief from most of the agents present in the room.
'The U.A. Sports Festival...' Yuuki thinks, merely frowning and narrowing his eyes upon what he just heard.
The U.A. Sports Festival is an annual event held by U.A. High School, where students from all grades and courses have the opportunity to showcase their abilities in different competitions in order to be scouted by Pro Heroes and support agencies.
In the days before Quirks, sports fans would obsess over the Olympic Games. When powers became a part of the equation, the U.A. Sports Festival became the most-watched sporting event. Students from each grade and every course compete amongst each other in their respective age groups. The event begins with preliminary elimination rounds, those who pass moving up to compete in the main event. Each stage has a teacher as a chief referee, with the principal usually overseeing the senior stage.
This event is a great opportunity for students from each of the departments of the U.A. High School. For the students of the Hero Department, the U.A. Sports Festival gives them the opportunity to display their abilities in front of Pro Heroes who might want to hire them after graduation. For the students from the General Department, this event gives them the chance to prove that they are worthy of being transferred to the Hero Departments based on the results of the U.A. Sports Festival. The reverse is also possible if Hero Department students perform subpar.
Students from the Support and Business Departments can also be transferred, but prefer to use the Sports Festival for other purposes. Some students from the Support Department use the U.A. Sports Festival to show off their inventions to support company executives. Meanwhile, Business Department students generally have nothing to gain from the festival itself, so they use it to hone their skills as salespeople and run business simulations by selling snacks and souvenirs to the crowd and calculating the odds of other students.
Once the event concludes, Pro Heroes from any agency can nominate the students that earned their attention, as an expression of interest in their future potential. However, these nominations can be dropped by the time the student reaches graduation, should the Hero lose interest in them.
The Sports Festival is one of the biggest events in Japan.
The competition is held at the Sports Festival Stadium which is located on the school campus. There are several concession stands outside the entrance with signs pointing to each grade's stage.
Most of the detectives suddenly began to talk amongst themselves, either sounding worried or excited at the prospect of being personally present there when the U.A. Sports Festival takes place.
"Hey! Settle down, you lot. Settle down." The lead investigator silenced the other police officers, waving his hands to get their attention.
"Is this serious, sir?" One detective asks their superior.
"But won't the Sports Festival be filled with Pro Heroes? Is our presence there really necessary?" Another detective asks, clearly confused. "Isn't it a bit overkill?"
"It's better if we not take things lightly given all the recent incidents that happened as of lately. The principal of U.A. requested our presence for extra backup." The senior investigator counters. "The League of Villains, the vigilante Kamen Rider and the [Slowdown] Quirk that the whole city of Musutafu experienced..." The man lists off all the major incidents that recently happened in their town.
They should not take any chances given everything that has happened so far...
"And there's also another reason as for why U.A. High requested for the police's cooperation." The veteran detective goes to the conference room's board as a projector turns on, showing a picture for the others to see.
Said picture on the screen shows what appears to be a letter.
"A letter?" Yuriko wonders the meaning behind it.
"Yesterday, Principal Nezu of U.A. High School received a mysterious letter from an unknown sender." The lead investigator starts speaking. "Said letter actually turned out to be a Calling Card from a peculiar criminal..."
'A Calling Card...' Yuki ponders about this.
One of the reasons Yuuki opted to become a police detective was because he liked to try solving complex 'puzzles'. He has a master's degree in Criminology and also posses a hobby in the form of a collection of mystery novels back at his apartment. All the knowledge and experience he acquired so far in his career allows to him quickly understand the possible meaning behind this Calling Card.
In Criminology, a Calling Card is a particular object sometimes left behind by a criminal at a scene of a crime, often as a way of taunting police or claiming responsibility. The name is derived from the cards that people used to show when they went to visit someone's house and the resident was absent.
A Calling Card can also be used as an individual's way of telling someone they are alive after they have run away or disappeared, without revealing themselves or having direct contact with that person.
It is often left at a bedside table while the person is asleep, on the living room floor, and sometimes even at a graveyard if they know the times someone goes to visit their loved ones.
However, some criminals choose not to leave a calling card, as it may be used by authorities or detectives to trace the criminal and eventually arrest them.
"Sir, just who exactly are we supposed to be aware of?" Tsukauchi asks the lead investigator. "What exactly is going to happen at the U.A. Sports Festival?"
Instead of answering him, the veteran cop decides to read the letter, that Nezu received, to the others:
"This is a warning to this society's so-called Heroes and the Police Force. I will come to the U.A. Sports Festival to take away the medals given to their best heroes in training. Don't miss the birth of the greatest thief of this century! I appreciate any attempt at trying to stop me!
Yours truly, Kaitou(Phantom Thief) - Kamen Rider Lupin!"
Phantom Thieves and particularly cocky crooks may even send their Calling Card before committing the crime, warning their target about what's going to happen.
This may be for practical reasons, such as turning the increased security against the target or distracting them by focusing the police's attention elsewhere or simply as a 'Badass Boast':
If the criminal can pull off their crime even when the target is on the highest alert, surely they must be incredibly skilled...
Needless to say, everyone became gobsmacked once the lead detective finished reading the contents of the letter to the others. He then shows the signature emblem of Kamen Rider Lupin to everyone else, confirming Yuuki's suspicions.
"Kamen Rider Lupin!?"
"There is more than one Kamen Rider!?"
"How is this new guy affiliated to the black one!?"
"Are they friends?"
"But the first one is a vigilante and this new one is apparently a Phantom Thief!"
Several detectives began talking amongst themselves once again, coming up with their own theories about Dark Drive and Lupin's connection.
"..." Yuriko turns to look at her partner, becoming concerned with him once she saw him sporting a furious look on his face.
'Kamen Riders are supposed to be the guardians of mankind, using their powers and equipment to protect the people and maintain peace, order and justice. And not this! I won't forgive anyone who uses their abilities to commit acts of burglary!' Yuuki thinks seriously, clenching his fists.
He has also learned from Krim about the tale of Kamen Rider Lupin - Zoroku Tojo.
Zoruku Tojo, also known as the Phantom Thief Ultimate Lupin, was a thief who was active during the mid-20th century.
In the 21st century, when he grew old, Zoruku found and took control of the body of Cyberoid ZZZ, a Roidmude upgraded into a cybernetic life form, created by Krim Steinbelt.
He later gains the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Lupin with the use of Lupin Gunner.
The lead investigator eventually manages to make everyone else quiet down.
"I understand many of you have questions about our 'new friend' in town. But that's why we have to be ready to offer whatever assistance and support we can to U.A. High's staff, even if several Pro Heroes will be already attending the Sports Festival event. There is a likely chance that this is not a prank, people." The veteran investigator tells the rest of the assembled officers.
That's right. After seeing what Kamen Rider Dark Drive was capable of, nobody would be taking any chances agaisnt this new Kamen Rider Lupin fellow. Especially if the new guy could also prove to be equally, if not more, handful than the black vigilante.
Yuriko decides to raise another question upon what was decided:
"But what about canceling the Sports Festival event itself?" She asks as all eyes suddenly land upon her, looking as if she just asked something unbelievable. "Does the public know about this?"
"No, Shijima-kun. The public does not know yet about any of this. And I don't need to remind any of you about how important it is that the press does not get a word about Lupin's Calling Card. And for your other question; the chief did suggest for Principal Nezu and the staff of U.A. about considering calling off the Sports Festival. However, that is not an option for them." The leader of the group of detectives tells her and the others.
"The U.A. Sports Festival is now an important event within the Hero World community. A lot of people wait for it, Pro Heroes and civilians alike. It has already left a huge impact on the Japanese society. I can imagine a lot of people being upset with the notion of such event being suddenly called off without a satisfactory answer." Tsukauchi states while in deep thought, briefly seen fidgeting with a pen in his hand.
"Plus, we can also imagine that the folks of U.A. don't want to show any signs of 'weakness' by canceling their precious Sports Festival. They probably want to show to the rest of the world that they are still strong, despite what happened back with the U.S.J. Incident." Tanuma adds his own input on the matter. "And to show the message that U.A. High won't be easily intimidated by whatever criminal, Villain, Vigilante, Phantom thief or Kamen Rider that shows up before them."
The rest of the detectives soon began to have the same kind of view over the situation, with many still believing that the U.A. Sports will certianly be carried on smoothly and without any sort of major problem.
Because no villain has ever sent a threat or warning to this big national event before, so surely it's nothing that they cannot handle, right?
Not only many of the Pro Heroes will be present and the Police Force will be mobilized there as extra security, but they will even have All Might himself present there as well.
So, no big deal, right?
Everything will be okay!
'They have no idea about what's going to happen...' Yuuki and Yuriko both think, sharing knowing looks with each other.
My Hero Academia Illegals: Vigilante Dark Drive
Drive 05: Duel at the Sports Festival
Some days later...
In front of the Sports Festival Stadium
The long-awaited day of the U.A. Sports Festival finally arrived at last.
All of its main events have already finished...
The Sports Festival Stadium is the stadium where the U.A. Sports Festival takes place. It's located inside the U.A. High School campus.
The U.A. Sports Festival Stadium resembles a scaled-back version of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics main stadium.
Before Quirks, the "Olympics" was popular worldwide. But when the population shrunk, the "Olympics" declined. This led to the rise of the Sports Festival, and the stadium was built to host it.
The stadium is an oval-shaped, open building that features a stand with three floors and several screens for the festival.
The arena of the stadium itself consists of a circular space with a flat square of concrete in the center, surrounded by grass. It also has many gates that lead in and out of the field.
During the fighting tournament, a concrete platform is built by Cementoss in the middle of the field, with torches located in each of the platform's corners and a concrete throne from where Cementoss observes the fights during the festival.
The stadium also features a branch nurse's office, as well as waiting rooms for the participants.
The First Year Stage of the U.A. Sports Festival is a nationally televised competition where first-year students can showcase their abilities in order to get scouted by Pro Heroes.
Following the U.S.J. Incident, U.A. High decided to go along with their annual Sports Festival despite the attack. The festival was deemed too important to cancel, and increased security measures were taken to ensure the safety of the students. First-year classes A-K participated in the First Year Stage of the festival.
Bakugo Katsuki gave the student pledge.
Midnight was the chief referee for the entire festival. She explained the rules to each event and would decide on how to proceed when any unique situation would arise. All of the events are announced by Shota Aizawa and Present Mic. Present Mic did the majority of the commentating, with Shota inserting his opinion from time to time.
Cementoss oversaw the finals. He would repair the stage after each fight and would stop the fights if they endangered student lives.
Preliminary Event: Obstacle Race
During the preliminary round, all eleven first-year classes raced along a four-kilometer-long obstacle course around the festival stadium. Participants were allowed to use their Quirks freely to try and win, as long as they do not leave the race course. The first forty-two competitors that finish advanced to the second event.
The first obstacle of the race was 'Robo Inferno": a blockade of villain robots from the U.A. Entrance Exam. The second obstacle was "The Fall": a canyon that must be trekked across by walking along tightropes. Students who fell were automatically eliminated. The third and final leg of the course was a Mine Field.
Team Event: Cavalry Battle
In the second event, participants formed teams with a maximum of 4 people and then got in a horse configuration. The objective was to earn points by swiping other teams' headbands while protecting their own. The value of a team's headband would be the sum of the points each person on the team received based on their performance in the previous competition. The person who ranked last would be worth 5 points, and each rank above that would be worth 5 more points than the previous one, with the exception of 1st place, which was worth 10 million points.
The one to wear the headband must be the rider, and they were not allowed to wear it below their neck. If the team loses their headband or crumbles as a horse configuration, they would still not be eliminated. Participants were allowed to use their Quirks, but, should they attack with the malicious intention of harming another participant, they will be forced out of the game.
Interlude Event: Recreational Games
After the cavalry battle, there is an interlude period where the students of the different classes and courses participate and compete in different recreational activities, such as a scavenger hunt and a ball race, among others.
These activities have no other purpose than to entertain the public and relax the atmosphere before the tournament. Meanwhile, the students qualified for the finals may choose whether or not to participate and use the opportunity to prepare themselves for the next event.
Final Event: One on One Fighting Tournament
The final event was a tournament where participants competed against one another in one on one battles. The match-ups were decided by lottery.
Despite being part of the team that ranked third in the previous event, Ojiro Mashirao and Shoda Nirengeki resigned, so Shiozaki Ibara and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu took their places.
The conditions for winning a match were: knocking out the opponent, rendering them unable to move or getting them to step out of bounds/surrender.
While still only being there with the role of providing the extra security that the Police Department of Musutafu City decided to provide for U.A. High School, Yuuki and Yuriko managed to watch all of its main events without any major incidents happening at all.
Things were peaceful, too peaceful for Yuuki's liking...
The duo of detectives was now watching things unfold from outside the stadium, waiting inside the disguised NEXTridorn that was resting on the local parking lot.
Belt-san was also present with the pair of ravenettes.
[All that's left now is the award ceremony, where the medals will finally appear at last.] The Drive Driver states as the pair of Quirkless police officers were watching the coming end of the Sports Festival event through a tablet that Yuriko brought along with her.
After the last emergency meeting, Yuuki and Krim told Yuriko everything they knew about Zoroku Tojo and how he became Kamen Rider Lupin with the use of the Lupin Gunner.
"And there's still no sign of the Phantom Thief. When exactly is he going to show up?" The female cop wonders, her eyes still glued on the streaming event being broadcasted on her tablet.
[He did say that he would come to collect the medals, but not exactly about when he would do such thing. I wonder, who is this Lupin? It could be anyone as far as I know. Zoroku Tojo himself, one of the Roidmudes or someone else entirely new.] Belt-san comments, adopting a neutral emoji on the Drive Driver's display.
Yuuki narrows his eyes over this detail.
"Whoever he is, the guy better have a plan if he wants to do something before a large audience. Considering that we will be dealing with a Phantom Thief, this guy will probably try to do something extremely 'flashy'."
Back inside the Sports Festival's stadium...
As the Sports Festival event comes to an end, All Might prepares to deliver the medals to its main participants.
Within the center of the stadium, a podium rose up from the ground, Tokoyami and Todoroki were standing normally on it while Bakugo was chained up.
1st Place - Bakugo Katsuki
2nd Place - Todoroki Shoto
3rd Place - Tokoyami Fumikage
Bakugo Katsuki, also known as Kacchan by his childhood friends, is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.
Katsuki is a young man of average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He has short, spiky, sandy blonde hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color.
At school, he wears the standard U.A. uniform without the customary red tie. Underneath his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top few buttons undone. His pants are worn loosely, causing them to sag at his ankles, despite him wearing a belt with them.
His hero costume is composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a v-neck. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume.
His costume also has a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves reach from within his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee guards, below which he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets.
The mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side.
Quirk: [Explosion]
Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become. If he overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache.
Todoroki Shoto is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where he got in through official recommendations and is training to become a Pro Hero. He is the youngest son of Endeavor, the No. 2 Hero of Japan.
Shoto is a reasonably tall and rather muscular young man who is well-built for his age. He has quite long hair, though it doesn't pass his neck, and wears bangs, parted twice as to not obscure his vision.
His hair is evenly split between two colors: white on his right side and crimson red on his left, this unusual coloring being due to his Quirk.
As another result of this, he also possesses heterochromia iridium, which causes his left eye's iris to appear turquoise, while his right is a brownish dark gray. His eyes, in shape, are quite thin and reserved.
Additionally, he has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, which reaches from his hairline to halfway down his cheek. He usually has a serious expression.
Quirk: [Half-Cold Half-Hot]
Shoto's Quirk gives him the ability to generate ice from the right side of his body, and flames from his left side.
Due to years of rejecting his father, Shoto has developed a habit of favoring ice, even when the fire would be a better option. This grudge also caused him to have difficulty controlling his flames. While he is capable of using both elements simultaneously, he isn't used to doing this and still needs to practice dual-wielding. While training for his ultimate move, he claimed that using both abilities at the same time slows him down.
If he overuses one element without utilizing the other, then his own body temperature will suffer; the ice half will cause frostbite and the fire half will cause heatstroke. Until his bodily limit is reached, however, neither has any visible effect on his body. Shoto can easily negate this weakness by alternating between ice and fire.
Tokoyami Fumikage is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.
Fumikage is a short young man with the head of a black bird, possibly supposed to resemble that of a crow or a raven. He has a tan, yellowish beak which is slightly hooked down at the end, thin, red eyes with a small black pupil, one on each side of his head, and a red choker, which he rarely removes.
Despite the appearance of his head, however, his body looks like one of a normal human, with rather fair skin.
His costume consists of a robe, black, but tinted a dark purple where the light hits it, that covers his entire body, only stopping halfway down his shins, and knee-high black boots. And under this cape, he wears a dark t-shirt, wristbands, a pair of baggy pants, similar to the ones Katsuki Bakugo wears in his hero costume, and a utility belt with a double pin buckle.
Quirk: [Dark Shadow]
Fumikage's Quirk allows him to manifest a sentient shadow monster from his body that he can materialize and contract freely. Dark Shadow's energy is limited and can be drained by bright light. When it runs out of energy, Dark Shadow retracts back into Fumikage's body.
The personality, strength, defense, and control of the shadow monster depend on the lack of light. In bright light, Dark Shadow is weaker and smaller in size, but still has considerable strength and defense and is easier to control. In total darkness, Dark Shadow is much bigger, which grants it far greater strength and defense. It is even powerful enough to rip out and cut down multiple full-grown trees with ease. However, Dark Shadow is more difficult to control in the dark, causing it to rampage based on its own free will.
Closing Ceremony of the Sports Festival...
"He's acting like a feral animal." Tokoyami said to the others with a sweatdrop as he observed a restrained Katsuki from his spot.
Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning. He tends to come off as unheroic, if not downright villainous for those not familiar with him.
This problematic behavior goes all the way back to his early childhood days when he was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Midoriya Izuku. He shows hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status.
However, after being accepted into U.A. and experiencing several personal defeats, one of them even coming from Izuku, Katsuki has gradually changed into a less antagonistic person, albeit still retaining a lot of his unpleasant traits.
While often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive drive have actually granted him an important role among Class 1-A, as a sort of inspirational mood-maker.
Due to the constant praise of his abilities and powerful Quirk, Katsuki has developed a superiority complex, and because of that, he desires to be the first and best at everything. As pointed out by many people, Katsuki loves to win above all else and cannot stand it when he doesn't, leading him to lose his already short temper or, less often, sulk. He is fiercely competitive and will never settle for less than the number one spot.
However, Katsuki also values hard work and fair play, to the point of refusing to acknowledge a winning result if he feels that his victory was not earned by actual merit.
And so, he is currently shown to be very unhappy with the first place he earned at the Sports Festival after defeating Todoroki Shoto at the finale.
Like Izuku, Katsuki sees Shoto as another rival and someone that he needs to defeat to become Number One. On the other hand, Shoto has occasionally has been shown not to be one of the few classmates scared of Katsuki in the slightest, casually making comments that could tick the other off.
During the U.A. Sports Festival, when Shoto and Izuku talked to each other after the Human Cavalry Battle, Katsuki secretly overheard Shoto's backstory, with a seemingly surprised expression on his face.
Despite hearing Shoto's tragic backstory, Katsuki showed no sympathy towards him, although his statement about not caring about Shoto's problems or feelings could also be taken to mean he wanted the two of them to be able to fight without being held back by anything.
In their fight, Katsuki tells him to show his full power and batters him with attacks until he is pleased when Shoto uses his fire but is dismayed that he relents later.
After their battle in the Sports Festival, Katsuki despised Shoto for not giving him a battle worthy enough of being called Number 1.
Katsuki's anger caused him to grab an unconscious Shoto to continue, only to be fully restrained during the closing ceremony of the Sports Festival so he wouldn't release his fury onto Shoto.
"Actually, Tenya Iida shares the 3rd place spot with Tokoyami, but he had to leave for family reasons. Gotta love those familial bonds." Midnight announces to the audience as she struck a pose, making Fumikage now sweatdrop at her.
Within Class 1-A's box of the Stadium
Izuku remembered what Iida told him and Ochako before he left...
Iida Tenya is the class representative of Class 1-A at U.A. High School, and is training there to become a Pro Hero.
Tenya is a relatively tall and muscular young man with a wide frame. He has short dark blue hair, flattened neatly down and parted on the right side of his head, a small patch completely shaved near the base of his head, and rather square eyes which match the notably pointed shape of his jaw.
He usually wears a serious expression, and his eyebrows seem to be permanently pointed inwards, quite thin and long in length, the far ends sharply hooked inwards, and he wears glasses with rectangular lenses.
Because of his Quirk, he possesses calves that are incredibly thick, and shaped like automobile engines, with six silver exhaust pipes protruding from each leg in columns of three.
His hero costume consists of a black one-piece suit with a high collar, over which he wears various pieces of armor, all in a pale silver in color, including a chest plate, a metal collar around his neck and another around his upper arm, and metal vambraces that extend past his elbows pointed at the ends.
He wears a helmet covering his entire face, its sharp bevor full of holes to allow him to speak and breathe easily, and its upper piece rounded over his head with two larger holes on either side, two curved horns just behind and a single spike sticking out of the back of his head.
On his feet, he wears silver knee-high boots with gold accessories, which are specialized for his Quirk, and around his torso, he has three thick metal pipes, attached with a blue band, although these only serve as decoration.
His armor is very lightweight and does not protect him much; its main purpose is to cut down air resistance rather than to protect him.
Quirk: [Engine]
Tenya's Quirk gives him car-like engines in each of his calves, giving him incredible running speed and extreme kicking power. He needs to fuel his engines by drinking orange juice.
Tenya's engines have multiple gears; it is currently unknown how many, but it has been implied that there are more than three. Much like a real engine, his Quirk requires that the exhaust pipes on the backs of his legs remain clear of obstructions in order to function properly.
Uraraka Ochaco is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.
Ochaco is a short girl with a slender yet curvaceous figure. She is fair-skinned with a perpetual blush on her cheeks. Her eyes are large and round, their irises a warm auburn brown, with rather thick upper eyelashes, two longer and more prominent ones protruding outwards on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower eyelashes.
Shoulder-length and about the same color as her eyes, her hair is bobbed and curved inwards at the ends, two longer clumps taking the same shape on either side of her face, and short bangs that reach roughly a quarter of the way down her forehead. On the top inner segment of each of her fingers, she has a small, pinkish pad that's slightly darker than the rest of her skin, somewhat resembling the toe of a cat or a dog's paw, which she uses when activating and deactivating her Quirk.
During school, she wears the regular U.A. uniform, which consists of a gray dress jacket with green stripes: the thin one below the tick one, two pockets and gold buttons, a white dress shirt, a red tie, a black pleated skirt, black tights and brown slip-on shoes instead of the usual knee-high socks worn by her other female classmates.
Her hero costume consists of a skin-tight black full-body suit with a pale pink design down the middle of her torso, two black circles on her chest, and a black rectangle below her waist, running between her legs. There are two more pink patches over her shoulders, both cut off by darker pink armbands that match the thick choker around her neck.
She has circular wrist guards, a dark pink handle on the back of each one, wide knee-high boots with magenta soles and a two-piece belt around her waist a circle embedded into the center where the pieces join up, a helmet with a tinted visor sometimes worn on her head, all of which are the same pale pink color. The accessories are designed to press her acupuncture points, and the skin tightness of her costume is apparently an error due to her not being specific in her design request.
Quirk: [Zero Gravity]
Ochaco's Quirk gives her the power to nullify the effects of gravity on solid targets (living and nonliving) by touching them with the pads on her fingertips, causing them to become weightless and float. She is able to cancel the effect of her Quirk by touching her finger pads together.
Her Quirk is good for restraint, as those affected are unlikely to fight back since they will keep floating upwards until they are released. Ochaco takes advantage of ravaged areas to gather wreckage while also exploiting the consequences of a destructive Quirk. She can easily clean up disaster zones while simultaneously figuring out the timing of her movements so as not to damage others.
The main drawback of Ochaco's Quirk is that if the upper weight limit (around three tons) is exceeded, or if Ochaco floats herself, she will suffer from severe nausea.
"Midoriya-kun, Uraraka-san, I'm sorry, but I have to leave! A villain got my older brother!" Iida said in a small panic, wanting to leave as fast as possible to see his brother.
"Wait, you're saying Ingenium is hurt?" Izuku asked, worried for his friend, and one of his favorite heroes.
Pro Hero
Turbo Hero: Ingenium
Real name: Iida Tensei
Tensei is the older brother of Tenya Ida and a Pro Hero.
Outside of his hero armor, Tensei looks much like his younger brother, Tenya Ida, with square features and short, dark blue, spiked hair. A differing feature is that he possesses arrow-shaped eyebrows and has a slightly longer face. Unlike Tenya, he does not wear glasses.
Similar to his brother, he has engine exhausts protruding from his body as a result of his Quirk, but his comes out of the ends of his elbows instead of his calves.
Quirk: [Engine]
Tensei's Quirk is that he has engines in his arms, allowing him to release propulsion jets from his elbows and shoot himself forward at turbo speed. He needs to fuel his engines by drinking grapefruit juice.
He can hover a foot or so off the ground and relies on the propulsion from his arms to move at super speed. He has been seen using his Quirk to move faster than cars in a chase sequence.
Unlike his younger brother, Tenya, Tensei's Quirk does not seem to have gears and can hit max speeds in an instant; however, he finds it difficult to brake and turn while moving at top speeds and compensates by installing airbags in his hero costume.
"Did they say if he's gonna be ok?" Ochako asked equally worried.
"I don't know, that's why I have to go." Iida said in a smaller voice before leaving.
He could only hope that it wasn't too bad.
'Ingenium, please be ok. You have to, for Iida's sake.' Izuku thought before refocusing his attention on the awards ceremony.
Ochaco is the first person that Izuku interacted with at U.A. High School. He saved her from being attacked by a giant robot and she returned the favor by ensuring he landed safely on the ground after jumping to her rescue. The two met again after becoming classmates and soon became close best friends; they get along very well and their discussions are always bright and friendly.
When they first met, Izuku was unable to hold a conversation with her, due to his timidity towards girls, but as he gets to know her more he is able to speak confidently with her, but still sometimes blushes when she stands too close to him.
A running gag is Izuku blushing and getting flustered whenever Ochaco happens to be too close to him, hinting that he might have a crush on her. Ochaco is the one who turned his once demeaning nickname "Deku" into a positive identity for him, saying it gave her a "never gives up" vibe. They share similar ways of quick thinking, tenacity, perseverance, and high spirit, which contribute to their friendship.
They mutually respect each other. Ochaco is inspired by Izuku, striving for his level of tenacity and perseverance. The two are protective of one another.
He thinks of her as a brave and resourceful person by herself and considers her very capable of devising strategic plans on her own. Midoriya even defends her from Katsuki when he thought she was incapable of fighting on her own and had help from Izuku during the Sports Festival.
In their first meeting, Tenya labeled Izuku's muttering about heroes as a distraction and thought he would be a hindrance to the school which earned Izuku bad attention from his peers. However, in the entrance tests, Izuku surprised Tenya by selflessly going back to save Ochaco and using his Quirk to destroy a giant robot in the process.
When they met again in class, Izuku first thought that Tenya was scary and that they wouldn't get along, but was surprised as the latter apologized for his previous treatment to him and even considered Midoriya better than him in many ways after the entrance course, much to the greenette's shock.
Izuku got to know Tenya better, where he found out that while the latter was serious he was also kind and they ended up becoming friends. The two are now usually friendly with each other.
As for Ochaco and Tenya's relationship, since they are both very close to Izuku, they become close friends with each other as well. Ochaco's amazed to hear Tenya is from a prestigious family of superheroes and that he is, therefore, the brother of Ingenium.
The brunette says that she knew he had some form of a rich background and was impressed by him. Similarly, Tenya is shown to be supportive of Ochaco's reason for becoming a hero, stating that there's nothing wrong with trying to improve one's state of living.
In spite of their differing personalities, the two surprisingly get along very well and often end up in situations together.
Back with the awards ceremony...
"And now without further ado, it's time to hand out the medals! And presenting them is you know who-" Midnight said, when a familiar muscular blur of red and blue flew in the air.
"I AM-"
"- it's the Number One Hero, All Might!" Midnight finished.
"-HERE WITH THE MEDALS!" All Might said.
"Oops, cut you off there, sorry," Midnight apologized, as All Might slightly shook in embarrassment at being interrupted like that.
"Man, the First Years were really something else, huh?" someone in the audience said.
All Might ignored that however as he went over to give Tokoyami his bronze medal.
"Young Tokoyami, you showed great strength out there." All Might walked up to the bird boy.
"I am humbled, sir." Tokoyami bowed his head as All Might gave him his medal.
"But you can't rely on your quirk in every situation. You need to work even harder to be prepared for all types of villains." All Might hugged him before walking towards Todoroki with his silver medal.
"Young Todoroki, congratulations! Although I wonder why you didn't use your left side, even though it cost you the final?" All Might asked, hoping for some clarity.
"Midoriya opened my eyes in our match, but then I started to doubt myself. I'm starting to get why you're so interested in him. I have a lot to think about." Todoroki replied.
While All Might was a little concerned that his interest was that easy to see he didn't pry either.
"I won't ask for details." All Might hugged him and went up to Bakugo. 'This is a bit much. Look at that face!'
All Might thought as the explosive boy showed the word 'angry' repeatedly.
"Well, young Bakugo, you did what you said in the pledge. You're true to your word." All Might said trying to hand him his medal.
"Even if everyone considers me the winner, I refuse to accept it like this!" Bakugo screamed.
"Take it, even if you have to wear it as a scar." All Might held it out to him, trying to appease his pride.
"I don't want that piece of garbage!" Bakugo yelled as All Might put it in his mouth.
"Congratulations! These are our winners of this year's Sports Festival! But remember, any one of you could have ended up here. Keep training hard to get better!" All Might encouraged as the crowd cheered even louder.
"Now we have one final thing to say! You all know what it is! Say it with me! 3..2..1.. THANK YOU FOR THE HARD WORK, EVERYONE!"
"PLUS ULTRA!"
All Might exclaimed as everyone else said Plus Ultra.
Huh...?
"What?! That was the perfect time to say Plus Ultra, All Might!" Everyone yelled as they booed him.
When nobody is least expecting it and everybody lowered their guard by now...
That is when a catastrophe suddenly strikes!
*Flash!* *Blink!*
OST: Kaito Kid's Theme
A powerful Heavy Acceleration effect is suddenly cast over the entire Sports Festival Stadium, trapping everyone in its time distortion.
'Ahh!'
'What the!?'
'My body!?'
'I can't move!'
Everybody began to panic, Pro Heroes and civilians alike, as they all saw how even All Might himself was having trouble moving.
'[Slowdown!]' The blonde No. 1 Hero thinks in a grimace.
Katsuki, Shoto and Fumikage were having similar reactions to him.
*Poof!*
The poof of a white curtain of smoke happens before the podium.
As the smoke disperses, a new figure now stands in the center of the stadium, before the entire Japan to watch.
It was a man with black hair using a white Guy Fawkes/Anonymous mask, covering his face. His attire includes a white trench coat with a high collar over a grey shirt, a fingerless white glove on his right hand, and white pants with boots of the same color. He also has a belt with two purple boxes wrapped around his waist. He also uses a black cape and a white top hat with a blue ribbon band and green jewel on it.
But what surprised everyone else the most about this man is that he is able to perfectly move during the Heavy Acceleration's effects, unlike the rest of them.
'Who is this guy!?' Many around the stadium thought.
"Ladies and gentlemen! IT'S SHOWTIME!" The newcomer announces, spreading his arms as he grins under his mask.
Back with Yuuki's group…
Yuuki and Yuriko were the only ones nearby unaffected by the Heavy Acceleration.
The reason the detectives decided to stay outside, in their current spot, was to allow Yuuki to have an easier time transforming into Kamen Rider Dark Drive without anyone accidentally catching him doing so, where nobody else was present.
[Lupin finally appeared at last! It's our cue, Yuuki!] Belt-san comments as he and the detectives watch what was happening inside the stadium through the tablet's ongoing transmission.
"Tomari-san, please be careful." Yuriko tells her partner, looking at him with a concerned expression, as she prays for his and Krim's victory over the Phantom Thief.
"I will, Yuriko." Is the only reply the black-haired man gives the woman, nodding in assurance.
[Start our mission!]
"Henshin!"
Back inside the stadium…
"Just as I promised to the Pro Heroes and the police, I'm here to take away the Sports Festival's medals." The white Phantom Thief announces cheerfully as he calmly moves to the podium, approaching the trio of young medalists.
In a futile attempt, All Might is shown trying to reach the newcomer with his bulky frame, but 'lagging' while doing so.
This only seems to amuse the thief as he snorts at the Symbol of Peace's inability to move through the Slowdown.
Everybody else could only watch in horror, frustration and indignation as Lupin calmly snatched away the medals from Fumikage, Shoto and Katsuki in that exact order.
To add further salt to the injury, the white-clothed criminal delivers a flick to the forehead on the restrained blonde teen as he and Katsuki briefly exchange stares, with the 1-A student glaring hatefully at the Phantom Thief.
'You freaking bastard!' Bakugo curses while struggling to move.
But to no avail at all…
'Stop!' All Might thinks, still trying to reach the mysterious new figure.
Lupin then gets on the center of the stadium again and bows dramatically to everyone else.
"And now, I shall take my leave! Adieu, everyone!" He gloats to the crowd.
But before he could move any further…
[Drive: Type Next] (Orchestral rock music)~
"That's as far as you go, Lupin!"
Kamen Rider Dark Drive shows up, landing before the Phantom Thief as he makes his presence known to the rest of the world.
'The Kamen Rider!?' Everyone else thought, gasping in surprise, shock and disbelief as the vigilante comes into their view.
But the white thief was not surprised. If anything, he semmed happy with Dark Drive's sudden arrival.
"Oh? So the man of the hour finally shows up as well! I have been itching to meet you, Kamen Rider Dark Drive!" Lupin tells the vigilante as he pulls out the Lupin Gunner.
[Ultimate Lupin!] The Lupin Gunner announces its activation.
[That's… So the Lupin Gunner is really in this man's possession now!?] Belt-san announces as he adopts a surprised emoji on the Drive Driver's display.
"You're not worthy of the title of Kamen Rider!" The black-masked warrior barks to his new opponent. "It's time to teach you a lesson!"
"Go ahead and try if you think can stop me!" Lupin replies in defiance, grinning under his Guy Fawkes mask.
The mysterious thief then prepares to transform before Dark Drive has an opportunity to stop him.
"Henshin!" The Phantom Thief chants.
To transform with the Lupin Gunner, the user firmly holds the device's Hard Gear Grip and slams his hand on its Destruction Muzzle spring-like button, holds it for a few seconds, then lets it go.
*Jazz music~*
The mysterious man aims the Lupin Gunner above his head, this causes projections of jewels to shoot out from the golden device and spread everywhere around the stadium, astonishing everyone else minus the thief and Dark Drive.
'What sort of Quirk is this!?' Izuku thinks in alarm from his spot.
The jewel projections eventually gather around its user and surround him to combine with his body, becoming metal parts of a Rider's suit while the Phantom Thief does some poses with the Lupin Gunner.
The thief is then covered in golden light to create a Kamen Rider's suit for it to merge with his body before materializing his mantle, thus completing his transformation into a new Kamen Rider.
[Lupin! (Jazz music)~]
"Kamen Rider Lupin is reborn!" The newcomer announces to everyone, looking triumphant.
'Kamen Rider!?'
'There's another one!?'
'Lupin!?'
The audience thinks as they are unable to do anything else other than watching him for now.
Not wasting any more time, Dark Drive materializes the Door-Ju in his hand and fires it at the other Kamen Rider.
But Lupin is quick to react in time, summoning a golden energy shield, with the shape of a jewel, in front of him, protecting himself from the black vigilante's shots.
"Ah-ha!" The Phantom Thief taunts his opponent, waving a mocking finger in front of Dark Drive.
The two Kamen Riders then begin to exchange physical blows, charing towards each other.
Meanwhile, panic and confusion rise across the stadium...
Some people in the audience try to run away from this place for their lives while others decide to stay behind and watch the duel between the Kamen Riders that is taking place in the center of the stadium.
As for the Pro Heroes themselves, all the ones present within the stadium's premises try to reach the Vigilante and Phantom Thief duo in hopes of restraining and capturing the two of them.
And other than All Might, there was one particular Hero that now badly wanted to arrest both Dark Drive and Lupin.
The No. 2 Hero of Japan, Todoroki Enji - aka as Endeavor.
Pro Hero
Flame Hero: Endeavor
Real name: Todoroki Enji
He is the Pro Hero with the highest tally of resolved cases in history, husband to Todoroki Rei, and father of Todoroki Toya, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto.
Enji is a tall, sturdily-built man with a very muscular physique. He has short crimson hair which he wears spiked up around his head and sharp turquoise eyes. His beard and mustache appear to be made of fire, but when he voluntarily turns off the flames on his face a small amount of stubble shows around his jaw.
His hero costume is comprised of a tight, navy turquoise bodysuit with lines of flames streaming across his chest, upper torso, arms, and most prominently his shoulders. He uses his flames as a makeshift mask around his eyes, and the tall boots he wears appear to be either made of fire themselves or constantly left alight, as only their soles and laces are visible around the flames. He sports white bracers on his lower arms, styled in a cage pattern, and a blue belt with a pouch attached on either side.
Quirk: [Hellflame]
Enji's Quirk allows him to produce and manipulate large amounts of extremely intense fire at will.
He appears to be immune to other flames, and can easily control the shape and temperature of the blaze as well. Enji's level of control enables him to utilize his flames in unorthodox ways, such as concentrating flames and heat to his feet to achieve limited flight. He has been shown shaping his flames into long-range and melee weapons, such as when he struck a Nomu with a spear made of fire.
Using too much of his power will overheat Endeavor's body, causing a depletion of stamina, and impairment of his physical functions.
He was already in a bad mood due to everything that happened so far with the Sports Festival, including his son Shoto's rebellious attitude towards him.
But now?
Enji was absolutely furious with these Kamen Riders ruining the closing ceremony of the Sports Festival!
'Why can't I move!?' Endeavor roars in the back of his mind, struggling to bypass the Heavy Acceleration's effects. Even his flames were suffering from a delay to manifest themselves.
Back with the Kamen Riders…
As Dark Drive and Lupin kept exchanging blows, the former was surprised with how the latter was managing to keep up with him and the power that the Shift Next Shift Car granted him.
"Seems like someone else also updated their Rider System, huh?" Dark Drive notes before delivering a kick into his opponent's chest.
Lupin stumbles back but quickly recovers his balance.
"Of course." The Phantom Thief casually replies to his black adversary. "How else I'm supposed to keep up with you...?"
He then quickly approaches the vigilante and whispers into his ear.
"Tomari Yuuki."
"!?" Dark Drive widens his eyes in shock before retreating from his opponent, creating some distance between them.
He knows! He somehow freaking knows about his true identity!
The police detective then glares at Lupin as he could somewhat tell that the other man adopted a smug expression under his mask.
"So you know…!" The vigilante hissed at his foe while Belt-san sports a furious look on the Drive Driver's display.
"It's not that hard to connect the dots since I'm someone that knows about the quest of the original Kamen Rider Drive and his companions." Lupin replies to them as he looks at the sentient belt, surprising Krim. "And I also learned about the power behind the Roidmudes and the Core Driviars as well."
'Original Drive? Roidmudes? Core Driviar?' All Might thinks intrigued, being the closest to them as he managed to pick up some of the words that the Phantom Thief used.
However, the Symbol of Peace was unable to grasp what exactly Lupin whispered to Dark Drive.
"And which one are you? Zoroku Tojo? Or a Roidmude?" The black vigilante questions his opponent.
This earns a light chuckle from the second Kamen Rider.
"I'm neither of them." He replies to the black version of Drive.
What?
Then who exactly is this man before them? A new player?
"Heh. You know, I'm feeling nice enough to share some things with you today. I suppose it's only fair I get to tell you this much: I'm a human, like you, born with the same condition. I belong to the same extreme domain as you, Dark Drive. But I have no interest in the Roidmudes or their goals. Whether you will believe my words or not, it's up to you. I could care less about it."
[Gun!]
By pressing and releasing the Destruction Muzzle, Lupin can also activate the Lupin Gunner's Gun Mode.
[Charge!]
*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*
Dark Drive reloads the Door-Ju's bullets as he and his opponent fire at each other, their shots connecting and nullifying one another.
"Tch!" Lupin decides to try something else.
[Break!]
Pressing the Destruction Muzzle once again activates the Lupin Gunner's Break Mode. It also allows him to use the golden device as a knuckle duster, with the small spikes below the Destruction Muzzle, called Revenger Pikes, empowering the blow.
*Smack!*
*Crash!*
"Argh!" The vigilante cries in pain as he takes the full force behind the Break Mode on his chest, being thrown towards the podium as Katsuki, Todoroki and Fumikage are also caught on the shockwave his crash caused.
But then Dark Drive restrains Lupin's arm, the one holding the Lupin Gunner, when the second Rider tries to attack him again. The police officer then delivers a powerful elbow strike on the criminal's face, making the thief grunt, before lifting him and throwing Lupin away from him and the others.
"Come on, Dump!" Dark Drive calls as a new Shift Car comes to his aid.
It was one modeled after a yellow dump truck. This is Shift Rumble Dump.
Based on a dump truck, Shift Rumble Dump is a sentient Type Wild Shift Car which allows Drive to gain the Rumble Dump Shift Tire, equipping him with the Rumble Smasher.
The Rumble Smasher is a Tire Specific Item modeled after a drill that is primarily wielded by Kamen Rider Dark Drive when he uses the Shift Rumble Dump Car to activate the Rumble Dump Tire.
[Tire Koukan!]
A yellow tire with the words Rumble Dump written on it attaches itself around Dark Drive's torso while the Rumble Smasher is equipped into his right arm.
[Rumble Dump!]
The vigilante doesn't take any chances, using the Rumble Smasher's drill thrusting power on Lupin and forcing the Phantom Thief to back away.
And in his free hand, the black warrior decides to wield the Blade Gunner as the weapon materializes in it.
Not wanting to back away from this challenge, Lupin decides to make use of his personal Viral Core, which looks like a golden car with a blade attached to it, changing the Lupin Gunner into its Blade Mode.
The Lupin Gunner has an additional Blade Mode that is accessed via the Lupin Blade Viral Core. In this mode, by pressing and releasing the Destruction Muzzle, Lupin can launch a colorful energy beam to slash his enemy
The Lupin Blade Viral Core is a Viral Core used by Kamen Rider Lupin to convert the Lupin Gunner into its blade mode and perform an associated finisher.
[Tune: Lupin Blade!]
"Argh!" With his own blade in hand, Lupin charges to his opponent as their attacks clash, releasing a powerful shockwave across the stadium.
Kamen Rider Lupin can "Tune" up by using his personal Viral Core or a Shift Car, inserting it into the slot of the Lupin Gunner called the Viral Landing Panel behind the Guard Wingle, a silver spoiler. Pressing the Destruction Muzzle while the Lupin Gunner is in Blade Mode will reactivate its Gun Mode once more, allowing Lupin to snipe his target by pulling the Demolition Trigger
*Clash!*
'What power!' All Might thinks, gritting his teeth, as the others nearby are pushed away by the immense amount of energy released from Dark Drive and Lupin's clash of blades.
"What are you after then, Lupin!? Are you just gonna be some petty thief!?" The vigilante asks his foe, trying to provoke him as he attempts to push the new Rider into a corner.
"What? Can't a guy just enjoy simple things? I'm simply doing stuff for the sake of the thrill behind it!" The Phantom Thief replies, smirking dangerously under his helmet.
"Unfortunately, things will not go the way you wish!" Dark Drive cries back, using the Rumble Smasher to break Lupin's stance before blasting him away with the Blade Gunner's energy slash.
In retaliation, Lupin manages to cut the vigilante's energy slash in two with his Lupin Blade, causing it to create two distant explosions behind him.
*Boom!*
Luckily, nobody else was caught, much to the others' relief. But they noticed how dangerous that stunt just now was.
"This is getting us nowhere!" Dark Drive comments, trying to formulate a quick plan to subdue the Phantom Thief.
[We can't let him escape! But we also cannot fight Lupin here recklessly or we might accidentally hurt someone nearby!] Belt-san speaks to his user as they look at everyone around the stadium.
Many of the Pro Heroes, Endeavor included, were now at the same level as them, having managed to leave the audience's seats. But they were all still struggling to catch up with Dark Drive and Lupin due to the Heavy Acceleration's time distortion.
'Damn this fucking [Slowdown]!' Katsuki thinks, also wanting his fair share of the ones responsible for causing this whole mess at the end of the Sports Festival.
Kamen Rider Lupin suddenly appears before Dark Drive, deciding to resort to using one last technique to get away from the vigilante.
'I'm lucky the Heavy Acceleration's effects haven't been dispelled yet despite all the hits I took from Tomari Yuuki. Geez, the guy really knows how to hit hard!' The thief thinks in slight dismay.
Aiming his hand at the black-masked fighter, Lupin uses one of his special abilities to trap and restrain his enemy into what appears to be energy-made film laters of the size of a regular person.
"Ugh! This is…!"
[This trick is…!]
Belt-san instantly recognizes the ability used while his user is struggling to break free from the film-based prison.
"You know what they say: A magician never reveals all of his tricks. While I would love to stay and chat for a little longer, I must depart now, gentleman. I have other compromises to attend. And so, I bid you adieu!" Lupin tells them, making a dramatic bow to the two of them before turning away.
"Come on, Ride Arsène!" The masked Phantom Thief commands as some sort of futuristic floating hoverboard materialized before the new Kamen Rider.
This Kamen Rider Lupin's personal Rider Machine - Ride Arsène.
The advanced hoverboard is white with black and blue sides, blue fins on the backsides and red stripes all around. It has two yellow gems protruding from the front and blue and white guards with light blue extensions.
Kamen Rider Lupin jumps on the special Rider Machine as the hoverboard takes off to the sky, releasing blue fire from its thruster as he leaves everyone else behind.
Several jaws dropped at the sight as they watched the new Phantom Thief escape in his personal vehicle, brandishing the Sports Festival's medals he stole as some sort of personal trophy as his actions infuriated many in the audience.
Lupin even made a small salute with his hand to Endeavor as the No. 2 now wanted to burn this cocky Phantom Thief into ashes.
But it was useless since he still couldn't move well…
Within the audience, a pink-haired girl was watching Lupin's escape in excitement, unlike the others around her. She did not even seem to mind the Heavy Acceleration's effects now and almost semmed to have forgotten about it as she mainly eyed Kamen Rider Lupin's personal vehicle in wonder.
This is Hatsume Mei.
Hatsume Mei is a student of U.A. High School's Department of Support from Class 1-H.
Mei is a reasonably short girl with quite a mature build. She has salmon pink hair, which is generally shoulder-length, although it does vary, which is styled into thick dreadlocks and side-swept to her right. Her eyes are wide and sloped upwards with some notably long upper eyelashes, their irises green-yellow with a cross in the center, making them look somewhat like scope lenses.
She is currently wearing the regular U.A. gym uniform (a dark blue tracksuit decorated with the letters "U" and "A"), but she also adds some of her own gadgets onto it, including red and gold steampunk goggles, a utility belt to hold the various tools she carries around, oversized speed-assisting boots, and what could possibly be a jet pack strung over her shoulders.
Quirk: [Zoom]
Mei's Quirk allows her to make her vision zoom in on whatever is in her line of sight. If she really focuses, Mei can see things as far as five kilometers.
Mei is a smart, off-setting, and assertive girl, often making those around her uncomfortable. She loves creating gadgets, which she refers to as her 'super cute babies'. Mei has a habit of "going straight to the point" and is very shameless and opportunistic when it comes to advertising her inventions.
While talking to people, she has a habit of getting awkwardly close to them, which usually causes them to back away from her but she still moves up to them. She is also manipulative, as she tricked Tenya Ida into using her support equipment to promote her inventions.
Mei shows no fear when it comes to failing, seeing it as an opportunity to learn and do better next time, which is why she does not mind when her inventions fail. Mei can be seen as self-centered due to putting her love of inventions and gadgets above others, but this selfishness is not a negative as it is out of motivation to improve herself. She does seem to be a little bit absent-minded as she is easily distracted and can sometimes be completely unaware of her surroundings.
Furthermore, she seems inept at reading body language and social cues, apparently being oblivious to Izuku's discomfort with her proximity to him on several occasions during the cavalry event, where she teamed up with him, Ochaco and Fumikage.
'I need to learn how to make babies like his!' Mei wonders, her eyes sparkling in excitement.
Power Loader, her teacher, who also happened to be next to his pink-haired student, couldn't help but look exasperated at his student's antiques.
Ever since she saw Kamen Rider Dark Drive's NEXTridoron, the girl has been trying to replicate the vigilante's technology.
And she almost exploded the entire U.A. High Support Course's Workshop while trying to do so.
'Oh, Hatsume...' Power Loader mentally sighs.
She is actually one of his most promising students and he does have a soft spot for her, but come on! Try to read the situation better next time, girl!
Back with Kamen Rider Dark Drive…
[The same trick won't work on us again!] Belt-san cries, adopting a furious emoji, as he and his user prepare to free themselves from Kamen Rider Lupin's energy-based film layer trap.
"Come, Flare!" The black vigilante calls for the fire Shift Car as it is inserted into his Shift Brace's slot.
[Tire Koukan! Max Flare!]
Max Flare burns through Lupin's film layers before his Shift Tire is equipped into Dark Drive's chest.
The Kamen Rider coats himself on fire as the rest of the Phantom Thief's prison is burnt away, enabling the vigilante to finally free himself at last.
[Good, now let's go after Lupin!] Belt-san tells his user.
Only for something annoying to happen to them as their luck turns to its worst at this exact moment.
*Flash!* *Blink!*
The Heavy Acceleration effect around the Sports Festival is finally turned off.
"Ah, Shit...! Here we go again..." The black Kamen Rider curses under his breath as he quickly notices everyone else looking relieved upon being able to freely move again.
And that is also exactly when all eyes turn upon Dark Drive and Belt-san as All Might, Endeavor and the rest of the Pro Heroes decide to focus on him, ignoring Kamen Rider Lupin's escape for the time being.
The Closing Screen of this chapter shows Shift Next, Rumble Dump, the Lupin Blade Viral Core and Max Flare side by side with the logo of Kamen Rider Dark Drive behind them.

Author Notes:
Thank you for reading!
So yeah, I decided to release two chapters together this time because there wasn't any battle/fight actually happening in the previous chapter four.
Let's see...
The police get to see the letter that(Calling Card) that Nezu received from ?/Kamen Rider Lupin.
Just who is he? His identity will be revealed later eventually, having a special connection with one of the characters of the MHAverse. Can you guess which one?
I decided to mainly skip the whole Sports Festival Arc right to its ending because I honestly saw no point in changing any of it, nor a reason to get Yuuki, Yuriko and Krim to watch the whole event with the stadium's audience until the awards ceremony.
And we finally get to see Kamen Rider Lupin in action, pretty much stealing the spotlight by trolling everyone, sans the Drive Team, with the ability to cause mischief by casting Heavy Acceleration over the whole Sports Festival Stadium.
Some reactions are seen next as everyone could only watch Dark Drive and Lupin beat the hell out of each other in the center of the stadium.
I decided to give Kamen Rider Lupin his own Rider Machine(personal vehicle) since it would be interesting to try expanding his equipment.
The Ride Arsène is based upon the second D-Board used by Fujiki Yusaku/Playmaker from Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains.
I didn't want Lupin to own a bike because they are kind of overused by now in the Kamen Rider shows.
And lastly...
Oh boy, our protagonists now find themselves literally surrounded by an army of Pro Heroes, with All Might himself included. How is Dark Drive going to escape? Find out next time!
Kamen Rider Lupin's role in this story will vary. He will mainly be a freelance/mercenary type of Rider that fights in order to fulfill his personal desires/interests.
Sometimes, he will fight Dark Drive as a rival. But not as a major antagonist. On other occasions, he might come to assist the protagonist in fighting agaisnt the Roidmudes and dangerous Villains.
But in the end, one thing about the Phantom Thief's main role in this story will be of someone that likes to 'play and mess around' with others, getting on the nerves of society. He will probably be a troll/jester/trickster/prankster most of the time.
If you guys have any ideas or suggestions that I could use for this story, you're free/welcome to share!
Question(Please answer this in the Reviews if possible):
[What extra abilities/skills/upgrades would you give Kamen Rider Lupin? Any suggestions about original Shift Cars, Viral Cores and/or Signal Bikes for him to use? Or what about a Driver of his own so he doesn't rely only on the Lupin Gunner?]
So, what do you guys think? Please give me some reviews if possible.
If you are interested, please go check my other stories.
Also, thanks to everybody that followed, favorited the story and gave reviews.
See You Next Time
