The next day…
I-Island Hospital, David's room
In the hospital room, the soft glow of the morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm and comforting ambiance.
David lay on the hospital bed, a few bandages visible on his body, evidence of the battle that had unfolded.
The room was quiet, allowing the sounds of medical equipment and distant voices to create a soothing backdrop.
Melissa stood by her father's bedside, a mixture of concern and determination etched on her face.
The room, though sterile, felt filled with a sense of relief and hope. Various bouquets of flowers adorned the room, brought by well-wishers grateful for the by Toshinori, the Drive Team and the teens from Class 1-A.
Through the window, the silhouette of I-Island's structures could be seen, standing tall against the backdrop of the awakening city as repairs for the damaged buildings already began.
And because of everything that happened, I-Expo was canceled and rescheduled for a later time…
"..."
As Melissa checked on her father, a sense of accomplishment radiated from her. The events of the night had forged a new chapter in her journey as Kamen Rider Halo, and though challenges lay ahead, the bond between father and daughter, strengthened by shared trials, remained unbroken.
"Dad, how are you feeling?" She asks David.
"I've been better, sweetheart. But I'll be alright. Thanks to you and your friends."
The girl looks at her father with a mix of concern and relief. The events of the other night had taken a toll on everyone, and seeing her father injured brought a wave of emotions.
"I'm just glad you're safe. We managed to stop Wolfram and the bomb."
David smiles at his daughter.
"I'm proud of you, Melissa. You've become a remarkable heroine in your own way... Kamen Rider Halo, that is what you decided to call yourself, right?"
Melissa is surprised by her father's tone, not expecting such a positive reaction from him.
The younger Shield hesitated for a moment, then took a seat beside her father's hospital bed. David turned to her with a gentle smile, his eyes reflecting a mix of pride and concern.
"Dad," she began, her voice carrying a trace of uncertainty, "I... I thought you'd be disapproving of me for becoming a Kamen Rider without telling you. I mean, it's dangerous, and I didn't want you to worry."
David's expression softened, and he reached out to gently pat her hand.
"Melissa, my dear, I'll admit, it was a bit of a surprise. But seeing you out there, fighting for what's right, it made me realize something important."
The blonde looked at her father, waiting for him to continue.
"You've grown into a remarkable young woman, and I can't help but be proud of the choices you've made," David said, sincerity in his eyes. "You've found your own path, and if being a Kamen Rider is a part of that, then I'll support you every step of the way."
A mixture of relief and gratitude washed over Melissa.
"I was afraid you'd think it was too dangerous or that I couldn't handle it."
David chuckled softly.
"Melissa, life is full of risks, but it's also about finding what makes you happy and fulfilled. If being Kamen Rider Halo brings you that, then who am I to stand in your way?"
Melissa couldn't help but smile, a weight lifted off her shoulders.
"Thanks, Dad. I just... I didn't want to disappoint you."
"You could never disappoint me, sweetheart," David assured her. "If anything, you've made me even prouder."
Melissa feels happy, a sense of accomplishment and washing over her.
"But I couldn't have done it without Kanade and everyone else's support. And I'm not done yet. We still have work to do." She says. "From now on, I also wish to fight against the Roidmudes alongside them."
David looks at her in understanding. From what his mentor and Toshi told him about the battle for I-Island, it seems Melissa's talents as Kamen Rider Halo will be definitly essential in the war against the evil androids.
"I have to thank everyone later again then. And I have no doubt you'll continue to do even more amazing things alongside them. I'm really proud of you." He tells his daughter.
Melissa nods, determined to carry on with her responsibilities as a Kamen Rider.
"We'll make sure I-Island and everyone else in the world stays safe." She boldly declares.
David looked down for a moment as his smiles vanished, a shadow crossing his face.
"Melissa, I need to be honest with you. When Sam approached me with that plan for the Quirk Amplification Device, I... I was tempted. I almost went along with it, thinking it could somehow help us."
Melissa's eyes widened at his confession, a mix of surprise and concern filling her gaze.
"Dad, you...?"
David nodded, regret etched on his features.
"I was scared, Melissa. Scared for you, for our family, for what would happen to the world once All Might disappeared. But then something clicked. I thought about what you, Toshi, the Professor, Izuku and all the others stand for, about the heroes you've all become, and I couldn't bear the thought of disappointing you."
Melissa reached out, placing a comforting hand on her father's.
"Dad, it's okay. You had a change of heart, and you did the right thing by warning Uncle Might and the others. That's what matters."
A small smile tugged at the corners of David's lips as he looked at his daughter.
"I guess I still have a lot to learn from my own little superheroine here."
Melissa squeezed his hand reassuringly.
"We all make mistakes, Dad. What matters is that we learn from them and strive to do better. And right now, I'm just grateful you're here, and we can face whatever comes next together."
Father and daughter shared a moment of understanding and forgiveness, strengthened by the trials they had faced and the love that bound them.
David's gaze softened as he spoke, a bittersweet smile touching his lips.
"You know, if your mother were still here with us today, she would be incredibly proud of you, Melissa. Seeing you stand up, take on the responsibility of being a Kamen Rider, and facing all these challenges... It would have filled her heart with pride."
He paused, the memory of Melissa's mother, the love of his life, lingering in the air.
"She always believed in you, just like I do. And even though she may not be here physically, I have no doubt that she's watching over us, cheering you on from wherever she is."
Melissa's eyes shimmered with a mixture of emotions, a blend of gratitude and a hint of sadness.
"I wish I could have known her," she admitted.
Her mother Carol shortly passed away after giving birth to baby Melissa…
David reached out, placing a comforting hand on his daughter's shoulder.
"She lives on in you, Melissa. The strength, determination, and kindness you possess—all of that is a reflection of her influence on our lives."
In that moment, father and daughter shared a silent connection, bound by the memory of a loved one who had left an indelible mark on their hearts.
Melissa hesitated for a moment before gently broaching a sensitive topic.
"Dad, how are you feeling about... Sam?"
David's expression grew somber, his gaze distant for a moment.
"Sam's death... It's complicated, Melissa. Despite everything he did, the betrayal, the danger he put us through, there's still a part of me that mourns for the friend I thought I had."
He sighed, the weight of conflicting emotions evident in his voice.
"I never wanted things to end like this for him. I wish he had found another path, a way to redeem himself and atone for what he tried to do. It's a painful reminder of how choices can shape our destinies, for better or worse."
Melissa nodded understandingly, her empathy extending even to those who had caused so much turmoil.
"It's okay to feel that way, Dad. Grief is a complex emotion, especially when it comes to someone you cared about. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."
Just like how Kanade was there for her when she was at her lowest, Melissa would now be there for her father and support him with whatever he needs.
David offered a grateful smile to his daughter, appreciating her compassion in a difficult moment. They shared a quiet understanding, acknowledging the complexities of emotions tied to loss and the choices made by those they once trusted.

Drive 35: I-Island's Aftermath
Later, in another hospital room…
Izuku's room
The hospital room was filled with a subdued atmosphere as everyone gathered around Izuku's bedside. Bandages adorned their bodies, serving as visible reminders of the fierce battles they had recently faced against the Roidmudes.
Ochaco, Tsuyu, Tenya and even the usually energetic ones like Mina, Kaminari, Tooru, Hanta, and Minoru all wore signs of the intense encounters.
All Might, now in his smaller form, stood focused with a look of weariness in his eyes. The man was bandaged around the torso, though his shirt obscured most of them.
He glanced at the unconscious Izuku, a mix of concern and pride etched on his face.
Kanade, now back in her human form, leaned against the wall, her arms crossed as she silently observes the others.
Melissa stood by the foot of Izuku's bed, her eyes flickering with a blend of relief and worry. She reached out, gently placing a hand on the boy's arm as if offering silent support.
Class 1-A, united even in their recovery, surrounded the room with a mix of tired smiles and determined expressions. The camaraderie forged through adversity was palpable, a testament to the growth of their bonds formed in the crucible of battle.
The hospital room became a sanctuary of healing, a space where the young heroes rested, regrouped, and awaited the moment when their comrade would awaken to join them once more.
"Are you sure you should be out of bed, Uncle Might?" Melissa asked her uncle-like figure in concern. "I mean, you fought Another Drive before Wolfram, right?"
"You also fought a lot, Melissa." Kanade pointed out.
"Of course, it'll take more than just a terrorist attack to keep me down!" All Might said, pointing to himself with his thumb, before sighing. "Besides, I want to be here to see Young Midoriya..."
"..."
At the mention of the newest [One For All] user's name, everyone stared at the unconscious steel green-haired teen laying in the hospital bed.
An oxygen mask was over his mouth and nose, and his eyes were closed. He had been comatose the whole day ever since he passed out from staying transformed as the Deku Roidmude.
No longer after he and Shinra separated and the greenette witnessed the victory sunrise with the rest of his companions, the boy suddenly fainted.
Luckily, he had no grave injuries, but it seemed like he was just too physically drained to wake up.
Melissa and Ochaco had been by his side, sitting on chairs next to him.
"Man, he and the Kamen Riders really went hard on the fighting, huh?" Mina said, biting her lip.
"It's so frustrating!" Eijiro bemoaned, his fist balled up. "There he was, out there, doing his best! And we couldn't even beat that Luchador Roidmude on our own!"
"You all are lucky that he was playing around until Melissa and Haibara came," All Might said sternly. "I know we are preparing you all to stand a chance, but that doesn't mean you kids have to go and face off against every evolved Roidmude on your own like that."
"Sorry..." The redhead mumbled.
"Kirishima's right, though," Shoto said, his hands together as he sat against a wall. He recalled how Luchador had managed to beat all of Class 1-A after he unleashed [Super Heavy Acceleration]. "That monster... we had been doing so well against the Plain and Reaper ones so far, so I guess I expected this one to be no different. But he was just taking whatever we threw at him like nothing. He wasn't anything like Terminus, but he was still so strong."
"We're glad that everyone is alright, though," Momo said, smiling at her classmates. "It was really, really scary at the tower..."
"There was never a moment that we could truly rest while the Roidmudes were there," Hanta said, closing his eyes.
"It was imperative that we tried to control damage as swiftly as possible," Tenya added.
"I feel bad that I couldn't do much to help," Koji signed, sighing.
"Don't be, there probably weren't a lot of animals inside the tower to begin with," Kyoka assured him.
"I thought we were going to die multiple times," Minoru said, sweating profusely as he remembered all the close calls they had. "Even when a Kamen Rider came to protect us, I thought we were going to die! Especially with that giant metal monster thing! What was with that!?"
"Krim said something about how dangerous it was for a Neo Viral Core forcefully fusing with the terrorist leader against his will..." Toshinori said, scratching his head. "I bet that when it powered up his already supercharged Quirk, it next manifested as that metal giant."
"Man, that was so scary to see," Toru said.
"Indeed..." All Might said, closing his eyes to think. "I don't think I would have been able to defeat that giant Roidmude alone on my own."
"What's going on with him, anyways?" Bakugo asks Wolfram, finally speaking for the first time. "When you took him away, he seemed to be out of it."
"He's in another hospital room," All Might answered. "When I inquired what his status was, the doctors told me that he's in a vegetative state. Maybe the reason why he is like that now is because his body and mind were unable to handle the unrefined Neo Viral Core's power. Unlike in Tachibana and Saijou's cases, the enemy Roidmudes didn't have the means to safely fuse with people that have Quirks."
"Just where did he even get one in the first place?" Tenya mumbled. "I would highly doubt that he'd just come across one Neo Viral Core..."
"Another Drive might've slipped him one at some point," Toshinori theorized, rubbing his head. "Since he was here and knew about Mr. Abraham's plan, he could've given him one to see what would happen if a human with a powerful Quirk used one..."
"Are you alright?" Tsuyu asked All Might. "Ever since we came here, you've been rubbing and scratching your heads."
"Yea, I have... some sort of headache going on," The man admitted. "After everything that happened last night, my head's been hurting. Not much, but still kind of annoying..."
"Just what is taking Deku-kun so long to wake up?" Ochaco wondered.
"Young Midoriya already had his fair share of scrapes and bruises over his time at U.A., but this is the first time he's ever pushed himself this far. Whatever's going on with him, I hope it isn't serious..." All Might says in concern, wishing for the recovery of his pupil.
? - With Izuku…
"Where am I?"
Izuku asked, looking around the strange place he found himself in.
It was a completely barren land, with black smoky fog surrounding him.
He remembers suddenly passing out shortly after witnessing the sunrise with Melissa and the others. And when he woke up, the boy suddenly found himself within this mysterious place.
"Oh? To think we would get to meet the current user this early."
Izuku turned around, and was stunned to find a man with white hair that vaguely resembled-
"Shigaraki!?" Izuku shouted, as he prepared himself to fight.
The man simply laughed at his reaction, but it wasn't harsh.
Rather, he was amused.
"That is my family name, but I'm not the Shigaraki you're thinking of," the man clarified. "I should introduce myself. I am Shigaraki Yoichi, the First holder of One for All."
"Wait, what!? The First holder-!?" Izuku muttered, looking at the man in disbelief as he soon came to assume the worst. "Am I dead!?"
"No no, I don't think you are. I'd say that we're in a similar space to what could be considered the inside of a person's soul." Yoichi explained, holding his hands up to calm the ninth user down. "Inside your heart, to be more precise."
"We are inside my soul?" The boy questions. "But how is this even possible!?"
And as he looked around again, Izuku couldn't help but chuckle nervously, his mind racing to make sense of the situation.
"I always imagined my inner place would be some kind of hero-themed wonderland, you know? Full of All Might posters and hero memorabilia," he mused, his voice tinged with a mixture of amusement and disbelief.
The irony of finding himself in such a stark and desolate landscape was not lost on him.
"Well, this is more like a mental space specifically created where [One for All]'s spirits can exist," Yoichi said, as more figures formed and stepped out of the fog.
Two figures opted to stay in the back, obscured by the fog, though Izuku could distinctly see them. They were accompanied by a vestige that wasn't fully formed, but it distinctly resembled his mentor Toshinori.
"About damn time we get to speak with you, Ninth!" A bald man with goggles said.
He was muscular, with a square jaw covered in some stubble, and he wore an opened jacket without a shirt and a bandolier.
"Indeed, this is quite unusual," a black-haired man said. He looked rather young, wearing a jacket with a high collar reminiscent of Best Jeanist's. "Though this is no less exciting and important, I suppose."
"Too weird..." a man with two scars running over his left eye said, keeping his distance from the two, though no less intrigued. "The world's only gotten weirder after my time..."
"Hm, you truly are someone interesting." a black-haired woman said, giving Izuku a small sad smile.
She wore her hair in a ponytail(in the same style as his mother Inko), a sleeveless black bodysuit that showed off her biceps, yellow gloves, and a white cape that reminded the green-haired kid of Gran Torino.
"Even this guy's vestige kept talking about how you and the Kamen Riders are going to push each other to become the best. He's been telling us all about the things that've been going on out there. Still can't believe that other dimensions are real. But I guess I don't have any room to say that, since I'm a ghost now." The woman said, gesturing to All Might's vestige with her thumb.
"Amazing," Izuku said, looking at all of them. "So you're all inside my mind... Oh, All Might's going to flip when he finds out that ghosts exist in this world as well. Not just in Mr. Steinbelt's."
"Ghosts, vestiges, spirits, call us whatever you wish, kid." the bald man said, going over and slapping Izuku's back. "After all, we're here to help you out! I'm Banjo Daigoro! I was the Fifth holder of [One for All]!"
"Tayutai En, the Sixth," the high collared man said.
"... Shinomori Hikage, Fourth," the scarred man said.
"Shimura Nana. I was the Seventh and Toshinori's immediate predecessor. I think you know him better as All Might," the woman said.
"What about those two?" Izuku said, pointing to the figures in the fog.
"Oh, the Second and Third? They're... being a little difficult right now," Yoichi said. "For now, let's talk."
"Alright, so first thing to ask," The teen said, taking a deep breath. "How exactly did I get here?"
"Your control over your Quirk finally matured to the point where you could interact with us, Izuku." Yoichi explains. "You also have to thank that Roidmude for fusing with you. Shinra, was it?"
"Yeah, that's his name." Izuku confirms with a nod. "And if I remember it right, Tachibana-san did say something about evolving to the point where he developed the Skill that allowed him to permanently boost people's Quirks. Is that somehow related to it?"
"Yes, indeed." Yoichi assures. "It seems that becoming a Fusion Evolved Roidmuide did make your control over your Quirk grow quicker. You can also feel it, right?"
"Yeah." Izuku answers, looking at his hands, "I felt that the limit I had over [One For All]'s control suddenly increased by 5% after the last battle."
"It's good and all, but we're not fully formed yet, kid," Daigoro said, pointing to his legs.
Or rather, lack of, once Izuku took a good look, and realized that all of the previous holders had no legs.
Instead, they were a part of the fog itself.
"We're not strong enough to fully interact with you yet. It's just pure luck that you managed to drift into here." The Fifth user says.
"Though it still helps that you've been training even more after the reveal of the Roidmudes. And thanks to that, we've been able to manifest faster. In fact, I think we're just a few weeks away from actually full manifestation." Nana said, crossing her arms. "Toshinori really made the right choice in picking you as his apprentice, Izuku."
"Y-Yeah..." Izuku said, still unsure of how to make any sense of all of this. "Okay, I'll buy that. So-"
He turned to Yoichi.
"- if you're the First holder of [One for All], that must mean that All for One is your brother, right?"
"Yes."
"So does that mean that Shigaraki Tomura is-"
"No, he is not my blood relative," Yoichi said. "But whoever he is, my brother most likely found him and groomed him to be his successor by giving him our last name, and to brand him as his own."
Nana gave Izuku a bittersweet smile, full of nostalgia.
"You and All Might are really similar, huh? Two Quirkless people with big hearts. You were really meant to be heroes." She says.
"Yeah... He told me he was once like me." The boy said. "So since I'm here, what else is it that you can tell me? I'm sure there's a lot that you want All Might to know as well."
"Well, I suppose one of the important things we should get out of the way is that my brother is obsessed with taking Quirks," Yoichi answered.
"I think I understand. When you're able to take Quirks and make them your own, you'd want to take everything," Izuku mutters. "I'll admit, if I had a Quirk that lets me take any Quirk I want, I might want them all. Of course, that's speaking as someone who's Quirkless to begin with."
"True, but the Quirk he's most obsessed over is taking [One for All]," En said.
"Really?" Izuku said. "But with the nature of the Quirk's transfer, I'd assume that would prevent him."
"Indeed. [One for All] is the one Quirk that All for One cannot take," Hikage said. "He's tried and tried, but failed to do so."
"So it's a forbidden fruit sort of situation?" Izuku raised an eyebrow. "He's able to take any Quirk he wants, and yet he wants the one that he can't get with? Any reason?"
"Hm, I assume that's because to him, all I am is just an extension of himself, and that he's entitled to what he believes is his," Yoichi said, tapping his chin in thought. "And that includes [One for All]. No doubt because he helped create it by giving me the power accumulation Quirk that fused with my transference Quirk."
"If that's the case, I guess he's going to go and try and force me to hand it over," Izuku grimly deduced.
"Yes, and he'll do anything to break your will," Daigoro added. "The ability to resist being taken by force is proportional to our willpower. Since there's nine of us now, All for One's gonna need to overpower all of us. And he's gonna have a hard time with that!"
"The man's a sociopath through and through," Nana confirmed. "He has no conscience, no empathy, nothing. As much as he wants [One for All], he's unable to muster up the necessary emotions to take it from us. It's one reason why the Quirk's evaded him for so long."
"Even so, you must be prepared for anything that my brother will try, Izuku." Yoichi said. "And I have no doubt he'll try and use whatever they can provide to him to help break him so that he can't resist."
"I see... and I can bet that Tomura's going to be a big player in this... How exactly is the big question," Izuku said, when the previous holders began to lose their form. "Whoa, what's happening?"
"Seems like you're waking up, kid," Daigoro said, looking at his hands. "And we didn't get through a lot of topics, damn."
"And there's a chance that you might not be able to come back in here, or at least for a long while," En pointed out. "Hopefully, you can by the time we've fully manifested."
"Indeed, but we do have enough time to tell you one more thing," Yoichi said, tapping his chin. "Namely that you will eventually gain all of the Quirks of the past holders after me."
"Wait, what!?" A shocked Izuku asked.
"[One for All] is reaching its full potential now that you are its holder. It has been storing our vestiges and our Quirks, incubating them until All Might handed it over. It's why we're here, long after our deaths. And it's where we'll continue to be."
"Yeah, that's why you're gonna get six Quirks now, kid! Get yourself prepared for that instead of being caught off guard!" Daigoro said. "Not bad for someone who didn't have one of their own to start with, huh?"
"And those Quirks are going to be empowered by [One for All] itself, so they're going to be stronger than ours when we had it," Hikage added. "By the way, I'm sorry about any of the future headaches my [Danger Sense] Quirk will give you later."
"And Izuku-" Nana said, her head now only visible. "- Please, tell Toshinori that I'm proud of him. He's gone a long way from the wimpy little kid I saved."
"W-Wait! There's a lot we still need to talk about!" Izuku said, as their faces finally disappeared. "Like what type of Quirks should I expect besides this [Danger Sense]!? Why are the Second and Third being difficult!? Just way too many-"
"Be rest assured, for you, Izuku, and your friends aren't alone in this fight," Yoichi's voice echoed. "We're all here as well, and the guiding light we've thrown to the future will shine ever brighter."
And everything fades to white…
Izuku began to open his eyes, blinking a few times. As he regained consciousness, he became acutely aware of how tired and aching his body was.
'Ugh… Am I awake?'
The greenette wonders, pulling off his mask.
"Izuku/Deku/Midoriya/-kun!" a cacophony of voices said.
He turned his head, and saw Ochaco, Tenya, the rest of their classmates and friends, Melissa, All Might and Kanade in what was unmistakably a hospital room.
"Hey guys-" He said, when Ochaco and Melissa gave him a tight hug.
"You idiot!" Ochaco said, her voice muffled from burying her face into his shoulder. "You promised us you'd be safe!"
"I was, though-"
"Forcing yourself past your limit isn't what I'd call safe!" Melissa retorted.
"I kinda had to, we were in some pretty tough situations." The boy laughs nervously. "And hey, I take it that nothing's broken since I don't have any casts or bandages,"
Izuku tried to say confidently, though he patted their heads.
"But I'm sorry that I made you all worry, everyone... How long have I been out?"
"Just for a day," Kyoka said. "You missed a lot of things, man."
"Really?" Izuku said, raising an eyebrow. "Man, I guess that conversation was a lot longer than I thought..."
"The mercenary leader's a vegetable right now, so we were kind of worried about was happening with you," Tsuyu said.
"Probably thanks to that unrefined Neo Viral Core that Another Drive made him forcefully use." Izuku said. "That was the thing that All Might and Yuuki-san saw him use, right?"
"Yeah, it was..." All Might sighed. "And knowing what was going on last night, he probably got that from 004 sometime before the chaos..."
"So... were you dreaming about anything?" Denki said. "I mean, I'd imagined that you'd be having some pretty wild dreams with how long you were out!"
"Actually, that's the thing," The grenette boy said, rubbing the back of his head. "I think you all might want to sit down for this one. It's a really big one."
Everyone's eyes widened as Izuku recounted what he had seen while unconscious, and they only grew bigger and bigger with each revelation.
"Ghosts are real!?" Mina said, shivering at the thought.
"You're getting six more Quirks!?" Katsuki questioned, his jaw dropped.
"You... you talked to my mentor?" All Might whispered with wide eyes.
"I did." Izuku replied, his expression turning into a warm one as he faced his mentor. "Nana-san wanted you to know that she is proud of you, All Might."
Toshinori teared up at these words.
'Shisou…' The Symbol of Peace thinks with his eyes closed, imagining Nana giving him a proud smile and a thumbs up.
"Heh... thanks for passing the message on, Young Midoriya," All Might said, smiling as he wiped his tears away. "That's certainly a confidence booster!"
Toshinori then stops to think about the moment he became the All Might Roidmude.
'Just like how Young Midoriya managed to get used quicker to his Quirk as a side effect of fusing, I felt like I was back in my prime(before All For One's blows.) when I fused with a Roidmude.'
Having learned from Terimus that All For One is still alive, the Symbol of Peace thinks about the possible countermeasures he will need to take before facing his dreadful nemesis once again. And that includes the option of turning into a Fusion Evolved Roidmude once again when the time comes...
With Yuuki…
Yuuki stood alone on the bridge, his gaze fixed upon the shattered skyline of I-Island. The once bustling city now lay in ruins, a stark reminder of the devastation wrought by the Roidmudes.
"..."
The man's status as a Quirkless individual had shaped his perspective in a way that once allowed him to detach from the tragedies around him, viewing them merely as 'statistics' rather than personal losses.
The bitter memories of his own mistreatment and the discrimination he had faced had hardened his heart, creating a barrier between himself and the suffering of others.
However, as he stood amidst the ruins of I-Island, witnessing the tangible aftermath of the Roidmudes' rampage, something within him began to stir. The once-distant figures, mere numbers on a casualty report, now took on new meaning as he saw the faces of those who had been torn from their loved ones by senseless violence.
His expression was somber, heavy with the weight of responsibility and grief. The loss of life and the destruction of property weighed heavily on his shoulders as he contemplated the events that had unfolded.
The detective's thoughts were consumed by the chaos and tragedy that had befallen the island. Each crumbling building and smoldering ruin served as a testament to the power and ruthlessness of their adversaries.
*Beep!* *Beep!*
As he stood there in silence, the sound of distant sirens and the faint echo of emergency broadcasts filled the air.
And as Yuuki gazed upon the wreckage of I-Island, a subtle shift occurred within him. The apathy that had once defined his demeanor began to wane, replaced by a growing sense of empathy for those who had endured the tragedies wrought by the Roidmudes.
The pain and suffering of the island's inhabitants resonated within him, as if it was stirring a newfound sense of responsibility and purpose within the police detective.
*Tap* *Tap*
Familiar footsteps echoed softly against the concrete as Yuriko approached Yuuki, her expression a mixture of relief and concern. She had been searching for him, knowing that he often retreated into his own thoughts during moments of introspection.
"Tomari-san." she called out gently, her voice breaking through the quiet solitude that surrounded them. "I've been looking for you."
As she drew closer, she noticed the subtle shift in her usually stoic partner's demeanor. There was a vulnerability in his eyes, a hint of emotion that was uncharacteristic of the typically reserved detective.
"Is everything alright?" she asked, her tone soft with genuine concern. "You seem... different."
Yuuki's gaze remained fixed on the horizon, his thoughts a tumultuous whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He wrestled with the newfound empathy that had begun to awaken within him, unsure of how to reconcile it with the hardened exterior he had cultivated over the years.
"I..." he started, his voice trailing off as he struggled to find the words to articulate the internal turmoil that consumed him. "I'm not sure. Something... changed."
Yuriko nodded understandingly, her presence a comforting anchor in the midst of his uncertainty. She had always been there for him, offering silent support and unwavering loyalty even in the darkest of times.
"Well, whatever it is," she said, her voice soft but steadfast, "you don't have to face it alone. We're partners, remember?"
A small, grateful smile tugged at the corners of Yuuki's lips as he turned to meet her gaze. In that moment, he was reminded that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, side by side, as they always had.
And with Yuriko by his side, he could maybe find the strength to confront the changes stirring within him and embrace the path that lay ahead.
"So, what do you want from me, Yuriko?" He asks his kouhai.
"It's about Izuku-kun."
"Izuku?" he echoed, his brow furrowing slightly as he thought about the boy. "He's awake?"
The man guessed.
Despite his earlier apathy towards the casualties of their battles, the news of Izuku's awakening sparked a glimmer of genuine concern within him.
Yuriko nodded, her expression softening with a gentle smile.
"Yeah, he's finally regained consciousness. It seems he's going to be okay."
A sense of relief washed over Yuuki as he absorbed the news.
"Good," he murmured, a faint smile touching his lips. "I'm glad to hear that."
Yuriko reached out, her hand coming to rest reassuringly on Yuuki's shoulder.
BGM: Persona 3 - Living With Determination
A silent gesture of solidarity, she turned to Yuuki with a concerned expression.
"We won the battle. And yet, you don't seem happy." She inquired softly, her voice carrying a note of gentle concern. "Tomari-san, what's wrong? Is something on your mind?"
Yuuki hesitated for a moment, grappling with the weight of his thoughts before finally deciding to open up to his partner.
"Yeah, there is," he admitted, his gaze drifting towards the ruined cityscape before them. "It's just... everything that happened during our last battle. The destruction, the casualties..."
He trailed off, the memories of the chaos and devastation still fresh in his mind. Despite his years of experience as a police officer, the scale of the destruction and death wrought this time by the Roidmudes had shaken him to the core.
"And then there was my conversation with Izuku and Melissa," he continued, his voice tinged with a mix of reflection and concern as he explained to Yuriko about his talk with the two teenagers. "They spoke about their dreams, their aspirations... It made me realize just how much they've been through, how much they've sacrificed to protect others."
Yuriko listened attentively, her expression softening with empathy as she absorbed Yuuki's words. She knew firsthand the toll that their battles had taken on everyone, and she couldn't help but share in his sense of weariness and concern.
'He changed…' The ravenette woman thinks, her expression softening on him. 'But not in a bad way…'
"It's a lot to take in," Yuriko acknowledged gently, her voice quiet but supportive. "But remember, we're not alone in this. You once told me that, right? We have each other, and we'll get through it together."
Yuuki nodded, a flicker of understanding shining in his eyes as he met Yuriko's gaze.
But the man still couldn't shake the weight of his thoughts, his mind lingering on the private conversation he'd had with Chief Tsuragamae.
Sensing his contemplative mood, Yuriko gently broached the topic, her voice quiet but filled with concern.
"Tomari-san, have you ever thought about what comes next after the Roidmudes are defeated? About your own dreams and aspirations?"
Yuuki's brow furrowed slightly, his gaze drifting towards the horizon as he mulled over her question.
"Honestly, I've never really thought about it," he admitted, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "I've been so focused on the mission, on stopping the Roidmudes... I guess I never considered what I would do once it was all over. Like I told Izuku and Melissa, I really have no idea about what kind of dream I wish for myself."
Yuriko nodded understandingly, her expression reflecting the empathy she felt for her partner.
"I understand," she murmured, her tone gentle but reassuring. "But Tomari-san, you have so much to offer, both as a detective and as a person. You've saved countless lives, made a real difference in this world. And you can continue to do so, even after the Roidmudes are defeated."
Yuuki's gaze softened as he listened to her words, a sense of warmth spreading through him at her unwavering support.
"But what if that's not what I want for the future?" he asked quietly, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Yuriko smiled softly, reaching out to squeeze his hand in a gesture of solidarity.
"Then we'll find it together. I will help you." she replied, her voice filled with determination. "You don't have to figure it out on your own, Tomari-san. I'll be there every step of the way, helping you discover what truly brings you joy and purpose."
A sense of relief washed over Yuuki as he looked at his partner, a newfound sense of hope blooming within him. With Yuriko by his side, he knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together, supporting each other every step of the way.
And for the first time in a long time, he allowed himself to believe that maybe, just maybe, there was a dream waiting for him on the horizon.
Yuriko then remembers about something else she needs to discuss with her senpai.
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot. Tomari-san, I wanted to let you know that everyone is planning a victory celebration," she began, her tone filled with excitement as she shared the news. "We're thinking of having a barbecue, and we'd really love for you to join us."
Huh? Wait, what?
Yuuki's brow furrowed slightly, his expression reflecting his uncertainty.
"You serious? I'm not sure I'll fit in at a celebration like that," he admitted, his voice tinged with doubt.
Yuriko's smile remained unwavering, her gaze gentle as she reached out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"You're part of the team," she reminded him, her tone gentle but firm. "And besides, we're all friends here. It's not about fitting in, it's about spending time together, celebrating our victory, and just enjoying each other's company."
Yuuki's gaze softened as he listened to her words, a flicker of uncertainty lingering in his eyes.
"I don't know, Yuriko... I'm just not good at this sort of thing," he admitted, his voice tinged with self-doubt.
But Yuriko shook her head gently, her expression unwaveringly supportive.
"You don't have to be good at it, Tomari-san." she reassured him, her tone gentle but firm. "Just being there, sharing a meal with everyone, that's what matters. And who knows, you might even enjoy yourself."
She paused, her gaze meeting his as she emphasized the importance of his presence.
"Remember our promise." she reminded him, her voice soft but earnest. "You said you'd open up, try new things. Just like how I told you to try getting to know Tsukauchi-san and the others back at the precinct better. So what do you say? Will you join us?"
Yuuki's gaze softened as he looked at his partner, a sense of gratitude swelling within him for her unwavering support.
"Alright, Yuriko," he replied, his voice filled with determination. "I'll come to the celebration. For you, and for our promise."
Yuriko nodded in approval, her smile widening at Yuuki's decision.
"Great! I'm glad to hear it," she said, her voice filled with genuine happiness. "Now, let's go check on Izuku-kun. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to see us."
Yuriko grabbed Yuuki by the wrist as they rushed at their new destination.
With a sense of purpose renewed, the two detectives turned their attention towards the hospital where their friend lay, their steps light with anticipation as they made their way to Izuku's room.
I-Island - Shields Residence, Veranda
It was now nighttime.
The atmosphere was lively as everyone gathered around the barbecue party, basking in the warm glow of victory.
The scent of grilled meat wafted through the air, mingling with the laughter and chatter of the assembled group.
Class 1-A students mingled with Toshinori, Krim, his three Roidmude workers and the Shields(David also received a discharge just in time to participate in the event), forming a colorful tapestry of camaraderie.
Plates piled high with food were passed around, the tantalizing aroma of barbecue enticing even the most reluctant of appetites.
Conversations flowed freely as friends and allies recounted tales of the battle, their voices blending into a harmonious symphony of celebration.
*Tap* *Tap*
Amidst the festivities, however, Yuuki and Yuriko's sudden arrival caused a momentary pause, drawing the attention of the assembled group. Their presence added a new dynamic to the gathering, a reminder of the connections forged in the heat of battle.
Some faces lit up with genuine joy as they welcomed the police detectives into their midst.
"Hey, Yuuki-san! Yuriko-san! Glad you two could make it!" Izuku said.
"Yeah, it's great to see you both here!" Melissa adds.
Izuku's bright smile mirrored the blonde's, both expressing relief and happiness at seeing the two detectives join the celebration.
"Welcome, Yuuki, Yuriko. We're glad you could join us for the celebration." Krim says with a small smile of his own.
"Absolutely! The more, the merrier!" His secretary adds.
Krim and Kanade exchanged warm glances, silently expressing their appreciation for the added company.
"Hey, Yuuki! Yuriko! Grab a seat and dig in! You're just in time for the best part!" Shinra tells them with a grin, eating a Kebab Stick with one hand while holding a can of beer with the other.
"Yeah, come on over! There's plenty of food for everyone!" Shinji says next, showing a wide variety of meat to the pair of cops.
The two male Roidmudes, acting as the cheerful duo, greeted Yuuki and Yuriko with enthusiastic waves and friendly nods, eager to include them in the festivities.
"Oh, uh, thanks. Didn't mean to interrupt..." Yuuki tries to say, feeling a bit awkward being there.
His partner lightly elbows him on the side.
"Sorry for being late, guys. I'm glad to see we didn't miss much." Yuriko comments with a smile.
But Yuuki still felt uncomfortable, as if he shouldn't be there celebrating with the others.
And so, he attempted to slip away from the gathering.
However, Yuriko's hand shot out, clasping his wrist gently but firmly. Her eyes, usually steely and focused, softened as she looked at him.
"Wait, Tomari-san," she implored, her voice carrying a warmth that contrasted with the cool evening air.
Yuuki hesitated, his gaze flickering between Yuriko's earnest expression and the expectant faces of their companions. He felt a surge of discomfort, the weight of their collective attention pressing down on him like an invisible force.
"Yuriko, I really don't think I belong here," he confessed, his tone tinged with uncertainty. "I'm not exactly the most sociable person, you know."
Yuriko shook her head, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips.
"Nonsense. You're part of this team, Tomari-san. You belong here just as much as anyone else."
"But I... I don't know what to say, how to act..." Yuuki trailed off, his voice trailing into a hesitant whisper so that only his partner could hear the last part. "I'll just end up making a fool of myself."
"You don't have to worry about that," Yuriko reassured him, her grip on his wrist tightening ever so slightly. "Just be yourself. Nobody here hates you, Tomari-san."
'Ok, maybe Bakugo does. But I doubt he will try to cause trouble here.' The woman briefly ponders about the explosive blonde.
Yuuki's brows furrowed in contemplation, uncertainty warring with the flicker of hope kindling within him.
"I don't even know what I'm doing here... I'm just... I'm not good with crowds."
Yuriko's expression softened further, her gaze meeting his with unwavering reassurance.
"And that's okay. You don't have to be the life of the party. Just being here is enough."
After a moment's hesitation, Yuuki let out a resigned sigh, his shoulders sagging in reluctant acceptance.
"I... Fine. I guess I'll give it a try then."
A smile tugged at the corners of Yuriko's lips as she nodded, her hand releasing his wrist.
"That's the spirit! Come on, let's go join the others. They're waiting for us."
Together, the cop duo made their way back to the gathering.
"Sorry for barging in like this. I just wanted to check in on everyone." Yuuki says, trying to come with a good reason for his presence there.
Izuku smiles in appreciation.
"No worries! We're all just happy to see you're here, Yuuki-san. It wouldn't be a proper celebration without you and Yuriko-san!"
"Exactly! You're one of us too, you know!" Melissa reminds him.
Krim nods at this.
"Indeed. We're all in this together."
"So come on, grab a plate and enjoy the food!" Kanade suggests with a wink.
"Yeah! We've got some seriously tasty stuff cooking!" Shinra adds.
"And plenty of stories to share!" Shinji says next.
Izuku stepped forward, his eyes reflecting earnest sincerity as he addressed Yuuki.
"Hey, Yuuki-san, I know it might feel a bit awkward being here, but I want you to know that your presence means a lot to us."
Yuuki's gaze flickered with surprise, his brows knitting together in confusion.
"Wha... what do you mean?"
Izuku smiled warmly, his tone gentle yet firm.
"You were the one giving us instructions and analysis during the battle with Wolfram. Your orders were instrumental in helping us come up with a strategy to take him down."
Melissa nodded in agreement, her expression mirroring Izuku's sentiments.
"That's right. Without your help, things might have turned out very differently. I also managed to disable the bomb because you lent Next Builder to me."
Yuuki's eyes widened in realization, a flicker of disbelief crossing his features.
"But... I didn't do much… I was mostly focused on fighting 004 before I joined you guys back then,"
Izuku shook his head, his smile unwavering.
"That's not true. Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, is valuable. And yours was no exception. You also warned of us about the true bomb."
Melissa chimed in, her voice gentle yet resolute.
"We're all grateful for everything you've done, Mr. Tomari. Your presence here tonight is a testament to that."
Yuuki's expression softened, a flicker of warmth seeping into his gaze as he absorbed their words.
"I... I didn't really think much of it..."
Izuku placed a reassuring hand on Yuuki's shoulder, his gaze meeting the older man's with unwavering sincerity.
"Well, now you do. And we're all glad to have you here with us."
Izuku and Melissa exchanged grateful glances with Yuuki before turning to address him once more.
"Thank you, Yuuki-san, for everything you did to help protect I-Island." Izuku said earnestly, his voice filled with genuine appreciation.
Melissa nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with gratitude.
"Yes, thank you for your guidance and support, Mr. Tomari. We couldn't have done it without you."
But their words were soon joined by others as the rest of Class 1-A stepped forward, expressions of gratitude etched upon their faces. One by one(sans Katsuki), they expressed their thanks to Yuuki for his role in safeguarding I-Island.
"And thank you for saving us from Terminus back then at U.A, Tomari-san." Ochaco added, her voice sincere as she recalled the harrowing encounter. "We never got the chance to properly thank you before."
"From what Midoriya and Melissa-san told me, your bravery and quick thinking were incredible." Tenya chimed in, his usual stoic demeanor softened by genuine appreciation. "Once again, we owe you a debt of gratitude for keeping us safe."
As the rest of the class echoed their sentiments, Yuuki stood among them, his heart swelling with a mix of emotions. Aside from his small inner circle of confidants, never before had he felt such a sense of camaraderie and acceptance from the 'normal people' with Quirks, and the cop couldn't help but feel deeply moved by their words.
With a nod of gratitude, Yuuki found himself at a loss for words, his heart overflowing with acceptance for the bonds he had forged with these future young heroes.
"..."
But he wasn't the only one struggling with new feelings.
As Katsuki stood among his classmates, his expression was unreadable as he listened to their words of gratitude towards Yuuki. Though his usual brash demeanor remained intact, there was a flicker of something in his eyes - a begrudging acknowledgment of the role the black Kamen Rider had played in their victory.
As he watched Yuuki being thanked and praised by his peers, the red-eyed blonde couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance. After all, he had always prided himself on his own Quirk's strength and ability to handle any situation. But now, faced with the undeniable truth that Yuuki's contributions had been instrumental in saving them all, Katsuki found himself grappling with conflicting emotions.
For a moment, he was tempted to brush off the significance of the detective's actions, to dismiss them as inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. But deep down, Katsuki knew better. He had seen firsthand the impact of Yuuki's ability and quick thinking, and begrudgingly, he had to admit that they had made all the difference in the end.
With a gruff grunt, Katsuki turned away, his thoughts swirling with a mixture of frustration and reluctant respect.
Though he would never admit it out loud, he couldn't deny the truth - Yuuki had proven himself to be an invaluable ally, and Katsuki couldn't help but begrudgingly acknowledge his role in their victory.
Meanwhile, Toshinori, Krim, and David stood together, their expressions reflecting a shared sense of satisfaction as they watched the heartwarming scene unfold before them. From the sidelines, they observed the genuine gratitude and camaraderie that permeated the gathering, filling the air with a sense of unity and warmth.
'Young Midoriya, Melissa and Tomari… You three are proof that being Quirkless isn't the same as being helpless.'
Toshinori's eyes sparkled with quiet joy, his smile reflecting the deep sense of fulfillment he felt at witnessing the positive impact of their efforts.
Beside him, Krim nodded in agreement, being happy to see Yuuki opening to others besides Yuriko.
'Having each other to rely on, I'm glad to see the impact they have on each other. Maybe Izuku could have turned into a Kamen Rider now if he hadn't accepted [One For All] before. The boy's emotional wounds are finally starting to heal as well.'
And David, too, couldn't suppress the sense of contentment that welled up within him, grateful for Melissa being one of the responsible in helping the older Kamen Rider socialize more.
'As long as she is with them, I won't have to worry about Melissa being a Kamen Rider.'
Yuuki clears his throat as his expression softens.
"Well, in that case... I guess we could stick around for a bit." He says as he looks at everyone in the party. "If you don't mind, that is."
Yuriko smiles at his change.
"Sounds good to me." She replies before looking at the others. "Thanks, everyone!"
Their presence added an extra layer of warmth to the gathering, solidifying the sense of unity and camaraderie that permeated the air. As they settled in among their friends and allies, Yuuki and Yuriko found themselves enveloped in an atmosphere of acceptance and belonging, reminding them that they were not alone in their journey.
*Flash!*
In the dimly lit Throne Room of the Roidmude hideout, Another Drive stood before the imposing figure of the Roidmude Emperor, his presence exuding confidence and assurance. With a deep bow, he presented himself to his master, his voice ringing out in the cavernous chamber.
"Your Majesty," Another Drive began, his tone reverent yet filled with a hint of triumph as he presented a hologram of the Quirk Amplification Device. "I have returned, having fulfilled the mission entrusted to me."
The Roidmude Emperor regarded him from his throne, his gaze inscrutable behind the mask-like visage that concealed his true form. In the shadows, the faint glow of neon lights flickered, casting an eerie glow over the scene as the emperor assessed the success of Another Drive's endeavors.
"Speak," the Emperor commanded, his voice resonating with a chilling authority that sent shivers down the spine of those who dared to stand before him. "Report on the outcome of your mission."
With a steady voice, Another Drive recounted the events that had transpired on I-Island.
He recounted his mission with a sense of calculated pride. He explained that while his primary objective was indeed to acquire data on the Quirk Amplification Device, he had orchestrated a series of diversions and distractions to further the Roidmude's agenda.
While the heroes were engaged in battle against his weaker forces, Another Drive had seized the opportunity to infiltrate the heart of the I-Expo, where numerous groundbreaking projects and technologies were on display. Using his advanced abilities and cunning intellect, he had covertly accessed the data systems of these projects, stealing valuable information that could further the Roidmude's plans for domination.
With each distraction carefully orchestrated, Another Drive had ensured that the heroes remained occupied and unaware of his true intentions until it was too late. By the time they realized the extent of his deception, he had already obtained the data he sought, leaving no trace of his presence behind.
As he spoke, the Emperor listened intently, his expression betraying nothing of his thoughts or emotions. Behind the impassive facade, however, a keen intelligence burned bright, analyzing every detail of Another Drive's report with meticulous precision.
"The fools. It will be all too late by the time they finally realize what exactly we plan to build with all the data I obtained at I-Island." The 004 Executive sneered.
When Another Drive had finished talking, a moment of silence hung heavy in the air, the tension palpable as the Emperor considered his words. Then, with a nod of approval, he spoke, his voice resonating with a sense of satisfaction.
"You have done well, Another Drive," the Emperor declared, his words echoing through the throne room like a decree from on high. "Your actions have brought us one step closer to achieving our ultimate goal. Continue to serve me faithfully, and you shall be rewarded."
With that, the audience was concluded, and Another Drive bowed once more before his master, his heart filled with pride and determination. He then departed the throne room, knowing that his mission was far from over—and that the true battle had only just begun.
And as he prepared for the next phase of their plan, he did so with the knowledge that his cunning and resourcefulness(both copied from Krim) had once again proven invaluable to the Roidmude cause.
The Closing Screen of this chapter shows the Shift Allmobile, Shift Next Special, Shift Speed Wild Technique(Shift Trinity) Shift Cars and the Signal Tracer Signal Bike, side by side, with the logo of Kamen Rider Dark Drive behind them.

Author Notes:
Thank you for reading!
The I-Island is officially over!
Next arc, the fights will take place back in Musutafu City, with Chaser also making his return.
As a result of becoming the Fusion Evolved Deku Roidmude, Izuku manages to talk earlier with the vestiges of [All For One]. As such, he will gain his extra Quirks before canon. Additionally, [Blackwhip] won't be the first power-up that he will earn. Can you guess which one he will obtain first then?
If you guys have any ideas or suggestions that I could use for this story, you're free/welcome to share!
If possible, I would like all guest reviewers to identify themselves since this will make it easier for me to reply and for you all to check what I typed in response for each of you.
And please, stop asking me about updating my other stories in the review section!
Request Corner!
[I plan to maybe create an evil Roidmude version of Izuku/Deku. And I would like them to have a similar relationship to that of Sonic the Hedgehog and Metal Sonic. Do you guys have any cool ideas to suggest about forms, names and unique abilities?]
Review Time!
Guest DCDGojira: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter.
brave kid: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter.
TheRealD3lph0xL0v3r: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter. Yeah, I hope I managed to find someone to make a fanart of their forms someday.
Mufalan: Maybe. I might do something about it eventually.
For'Sleep 03rd: Hope you liked the chapter.
For the reason Izuku and Toshinori were given Fusion Evolved Roidmudes forms, I will go along with the following logic:
1- It's to help Izuku get used faster to fully using 100% of his Quirk.
2- All Might can fight as if he was in his prime, in the same way before All For One fatally wounded him.
These two things were explained in this chapter.
Do you have suggestions of what words I could use to fix the cringe part you mentioned? I can fix it later.
carlosblue14: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter.
It's technically Roidmude 004(The one that has also copied Krim). 005 is the Revenger Roidmude.
Not sure if I will be able to make use of your idea, but I will definitely make use of an evil Quirkless original Kamen Rider by the time I reach the World Heroes' Mission arc.
SynchroRegis: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter.
DawnYugo: Thanks! Glad you liked the chapter. It will take some time before I come up with more forms for Melissa/Halo. Not sure if I will be able to make use of the ideas you suggested to me, though.
Nextinfinite50: I will obviously develop romance moments between Yuuki(Dark Drive) and Yuriko(Tracer) in my story, mainly focusing on them before pondering about other possibilities.
So, what do you guys think? Please give me some reviews if possible.
If you are interested, please go check my other stories.
Also, thanks to everybody that followed, favorited the story and gave reviews.
