"Rumpelstiltskin." said Baelfire. "That was my father's name before he... abandoned me."
"It must hurt," said Hazel. "I never met my father before, he left when I was really young."
"Guess we do have that in common."
"How was this... umm, Rumpelstiltskin as a father?"
"He used to be this kind man who always cared for me until darkness and power took control of him."
"That must have been nice."
"What about your father, Hazel?"
"Mother never really talks about him, whenever I do, she gets mad."
"My mother left when I was really young, my father said that she was taken by pirates."
"Pirates?"
"Yeah, I do miss her a lot though."
"Who wouldn't? My mother may be short tempered and at times, it's as if she doesn't love me, but if she went missing, I would miss her a lot and pray that she would one day return home."
"I did the same, prayed every day, it never worked. She never came back. Father kept on reminding me that she would never return and that I was just wasting my time; guess he was right."
"Don't be like that, Baelfire, she may one day return home."
"Well, how could she return to a place that no longer exists? I don't know where 'home' is, I don't know my place in this world."
"Baelfire, you are a nice person and good things always come to the right people."
"You remind me of someone. Someone who treated me like family more than my parents ever did."
"Who?"
"Her name was Wendy."
Hazel laughed, "You seem to keep on saying the names of fairy tale characters at this point. Rumpelstiltskin, Wendy and pirates. You really are funny and creative."
"Yeah, I am." said Baelfire, quietly.
"Are you alright?" asked Hazel. "I'm sorry if I laughed, but when you say names of fairy tale characters rather than their real names, it's just too funny."
"Yeah, I am. I think I better go now."
"Are you sure? Please stay for a bit longer, I don't want to be with my mother for a while, I love her but sometimes... I'm not really me."
"I know how that feels." smiled Baelfire. "Anything interesting going on?"
"I'm going to move soon in a couple of days. Mother randomly said that we're moving to Alaska."
"Oh... I'm gonna miss you Hazel."
"Me too, and Sammy of course. You two are the only people who made my life seem... worth living. I don't know what I'm gonna do."
"Think of it as a new chapter in your life. When I left home, I thought I was going to lose everything but instead I have so much now."
"You do?"
"I may not be rich but I am happy here, and that's all that matters."
"Thanks, Baelfire. I've gotta go now, this was a great chat. My mother expects me to return home soon, she'll start shouting at me otherwise."
"Okay, bye."
"Bye! I'm gonna be meeting you and Sammy soon. I've gotta introduce you two before I leave, I'm sure you're going to be best friends!"
"I'm sure we will be. Bye Hazel." said Baelfire, waving his arm in the air as Hazel ran back to her home.
