One Year Later…
The Morning sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky, making the day nice and warm. Inuyasha rushed past his middle school's entrance through the courtyard, so as not to be late for his classes.
"Miroku, hey man wait up!" Inuyasha called out to a boy in his grade with a short black ponytail, spiky bangs, dark blue eyes, and he wore the same red tie and white colored shirt as the other male students.
The boy turned to him slightly as Inuyasha caught up to him. "Oh, hey Inuyasha" he greeted tiredly.
"Hm… stayed up late studying again?" Inuyasha obsevered in a non asking way.
"Duh," Miroku replied with an amused expression right before letting out a long yawn.
Suddenly Inuyasha froze dead in his tracks, losing his breath for a moment, before a big smile crossed his face.
"Hey Miroku, hold my stuff? Thanks!" Inuyasha said quickly as he ran ahead of his friend who almost dropped the second bag that was forced into his arms.
"What are you- Oh great, here we go again," Miroku groaned in realization when he saw Inuyasha swoop down and pluck a blooming dandelion from the school's lawn and toss it into a nearby girl's hair.
"Direct hit!" Inuyasha said to himself.
The girl flinched as the yellow bloom landed in her long, thick, wavy, raven hair.
"That right there is called; Kagome shooting star attack! Using… a flower 'almost' as cute as her!" Inuyasha sang as the girl turned to him, her large chocolate brown eyes flushed an annoyed sparkle in them, but she immediately took a deep breath and let it fade as she took the dandelion out of her hair.
"Kagome…?" the girl beside the one Inuyasha had targeted asked concerned, as she her long high brown ponytail flowing in the wind.
"Let's go Sango" Kagome said as she dusted off her green, red, and white uniform that all the other girls wore to their school, and walked quietly into the building ahead.
"It was an expression of love!" Inuyasha called after Kagome as he rushed after her with Miroku slowly trailing behind him.
"Hey Kagome, wait for me, wait up-!" Inuyasha called out.
"I can't wait," Kagome interrupted dully without looking back at the boy as she and Sango reached the classroom.
Inuyasha slowed down and stopped at her words.
"Huh, what's up?" Miroku asked, finally catching up.
"What… A BABE! Did you hear what she just said to me?! She said; 'I can't wait', that sounds promising, right?!" The boy asked enthusiastically as his friend just shook his head as they continued to get to class.
"Wow, Kagome is such a lucky girl," one girl in the classroom said to her friends as they watched the scene from the classroom entrance.
"I know right, I've never seen a guy that passionate for me, it would be so cute if they went out," another girl in the group said.
"They're right Kags, his jesters are really sweet, I don't understand why you don't give Inuyasha a chance," Sango said to Kagome as they sat beside each other in their usual seats in class.
Kagome sighed at her best friend's words glancing at the flower in her hand before she turned to see Inuyasha and Miroku sit in their seats in the back of the classroom.
"I got to hear Kagome's beautiful voice, I could die happy right now, you know what I mean?!" Inuyasha asked blissfully as he sat down hugging his bag to his chest.
"Not in the slightest" Miroku replied dully.
Kagome looked back at Sango making sure Inuyasha didn't catch her staring; that was the LAST thing she needed.
"Come on Kagome, he's not a popular stuck up jerk and he could've given those jesters to any girl, but he chose you, why won't you at least 'try' to like him?" Sango questioned.
Kagome clenched her fists along with the dandelion. "I just can't, I have more important things to deal with than dating a clingy guy like Inuyasha!" She stated sternly as she shoved the dandelion into her school bag… carefully in a way that no one would notice…

Later after school ended for the day, Inuyasha and Miroku found themselves relaxing on a park bench in the shade beneath a tall tree, each with a soda in hand to help with the afternoon heat.
"This is really sad, you know," Miroku said suddenly.
"Huh?" Inuyasha questioned taking another gulp of his blue raspberry soda.
"That 'dream girl' of yours, she's clearly not interested and yet you won't give up, it's really just depressing at this point" Miroku said sincerely.
Inuyasha shrugged at his words. "Yeah maybe… but no other guy is as close to her as I am, that's I'm special right?"
Miroku sighed at his best friend's ridiculous reply. "You really are starting to become a real stalker aren't you, even more than me when we first started middle school. Thank God I redeemed myself after I fell in love with Sango"
Inuyasha snickered at his words.
"Oh shut up, anyway tell me something Inuyasha; why Kagome anyway? Any other girl would've been your girlfriend in an instant with those jesters you give her, but instead you chose the most stubborn girl in school, known to turn down every guy who so much as glances at her, so, why Kagome?"
Inuyasha gave Miroku a sly look. "You're curious?" He asked mocking disbelief.
"Yes, but only because you used to act like a zombie until about a year ago, when you first started being obsessed with Kagome" Miroku replied.
"Well… do you remeber the rainy summer festival?" Inuyasha asked leaning his head back.
Miroku paused. "The one I couldn't attend because of my grandfather's memorial service?"
"Yeah," Inuyasha replied. "Well there we were just the two of us under a large tree as the rain fell, huddled together, you couldn't even tell the festival was right around the corner. It was like the rest of the world disappeared, and all that remained was me and Kagome…
Flashback-
Inuyasha sighed happily as Kagome laid her head on his shoulder with her eyes closed blissfully.
"Everything is so nice and quiet," Kagome stated dreamingly.
"Yeah you're right," Inuyasha replied.
"The world has so many things about it that I hate, but I'm okay just sitting here with a cutie like you…" Kagome trailed off "You're a really great listener, that's what many people need in this world but don't have, but I'm lucky that I have you…" Kagome trailed off. Inuyasha blushed as he carefully leaned down to kiss Kagome's cheek.
"Oh, you're so sweet!"she gushed with a giggle…
End of Flashback
"Her laugh was so adorable… I was so sick of this world, but now I know it isn't so bad, because I met Kagome after all…" Inuyasha sighed happily in a dreamy voice.
"DUDE!" Miroku exclaimed, making Inuyasha jump. "Do you not see what's happening?! You're getting your manly fantasies confused with reality!"
"But-" Inuyasha started only to have Miroku cut him off by flicking him in the eyebrows.
"Come back to real life, earth to Inuyasha!" Miroku said in a mystical voice while knocking on Inuyasha's head.
Inuyasha stood up abruptly, crushing his empty soda bottle in his first. "Come on dude it really happened, why don't you believe-" he paused as a white snake with striking blue eyes slithered across his path, making eye contact with him before continuing on its way, slinking into the nearby bushes.
"I didn't know you hated snakes," Miroku observed.
"It depends on the time, the place and the snake" Inuyasha stated dully, never taking his eyes off of where the snake disappeared.

I'll see you later Inu!" Miroku called as Inuyasha walked into his two story house while waving goodbye to his best friend.
"See ya Miroku, don't forget to be my friend tomorrow!"
"You really are such a weirdo. See ya" Miroku chuckled as he walked off.
Inuyasha took off his shoes, leaving them by the door as he then headed into the kitchen to see Rin sitting at the table with a little fox kit in her lap.
"Oh welcome home Inuyasha, how was school?" The woman asked as the little fox stared at Inuyasha as he passed the table to get to the pantry.
"Oh you know, same old, same old" The teen replied not even glancing at her.
"Oh okay, do you want some ice cream? I bought some on my way home from the wild rescue" Rin said kindly.
"No thanks, I had a soda on my way home, you should help yourself Rin, you and Shippo" Inuyasha replied, glancing at the little fox in Rin's lap as he grabbed a small bag of potato chips and rushed out of the kitchen before Rin could reply back.
Once upstairs in his fairly messy room, the long black haired boy sighed. "I know she's just trying to be nice, but she should really just get off my back, I mean I have my own plans. Now where is it?" Inuyasha thought to himself as he looked through his closet until his hand brushed upon the object he was seeking and he smiled.
"Like I said, 'I have my own plans'..."
