At last, the twins arrived at the Don Box.
"Finally, we're here!" Jay cheered.
Mickey stood weakly as his brother got the tip. "Either-Or; Dune Buggy or Magic."
"Magic?"
The elder twin nodded. "Magic."
Jay took Mickey's hand and they started running.
Back at the stage, the Sisters were about to perform the magic trick, the curtain lifted down.
"Alright…" Emma whispered, before shouting, "Abracadabra!"
She turned the lever far to the right, the curtain was lifted, but neither the divider nor the lion disappeared.
They were quickly given a thumbs down.
"Aw man!"
"At least I'm not hurt." Kitty spoke to herself.
The lion roared, scaring her and causing her to stumble back into the glass.
A montage was shown of teams attempting the challenges.
Back at the track, Junior, MacArthur and Brody were shown piloting their buggies with Dwayne, Sanders and Geoff respectively racing around.
Down below, Sanders grabbed a flag and cheered. "Yes."
As Dwayne grabbed a flag, he exclaimed, "Alright!"
The Goths attempted the challenge; the divider was gone, the lion wasn't. But Crimson was unfazed as the lion growled. The lion was baffled by her lack of fear as she simply turned to face the judge.
Ennui and Loki looked at the judge, the bunny looking angry.
They were given the thumbs down of disapproval, only for them to look at the judge, who suddenly became nervous.
Dwayne grabbed another flag, cheering all the while.
The montage ended as Junior smiled, pushing the buttons and steering the control stick. Dwayne was shown with three flags in his hands.
"What's our time?"
"Fifty five seconds, pal!" Dwayne answered.
Junior pumped his fist in victory. "Haha! Let's go!"
Seconds later, Sanders hit a rough bump too quickly and was sent flying. A brief crunch was heard as she fell. "Darn it, not again!"
MacArthur growled. "How am I being beaten by a thirteen year old kid?!"
Junior smiled as he shrugged. "Maybe you could let it go and just try again?"
"Let it go? Let it go?!"
Junior put down the controller and started climbing down the tower. He was about to run to his dad, only for Sander's empty buggy to crash into Dwayne's.
"MacArthur, calm down!" Sanders yelled as she tried to make her way back.
Brody winced before saying, "Maybe I should go…"
Interview; Cadets
"I never let anything go." MacArthur clarified. "When I was six my babysitter forgot to give me dessert- which she promised."
Sanders sighed. "What did you do to her?"
"Nothing… yet." She stood up. "I know where you live, Jennifer Masterson!"
New Interview; Father and Son
The scene showed Father and Son not too far from the race track.
"I don't know what was with her," Junior told the audience. "I was just trying to help."
Dwayne tried to shrug it off. "Maybe she was just having a bad day."
Junior looked at his dad, then at the camera, unsure.
End Interviews
Don began narrating, with Sanders getting back into her buggy. "While the Cadets and Ice Dancers struggle to complete the challenge, and I do mean struggle. Wow."
Jacques was shown kneeling on the ground, the lion sitting on top of him. The poor man screamed again.
They were given another thumbs down.
"The Goths take another crack at making magic happen." Don finished off-screen.
At that moment, Loki hopped into the cage and into the lion's mouth. The Goths were again, unfazed, the judge was horrified and Josee simply laughed. Jacques, hair still standing up in frozen terror from facing the lion earlier, said nothing.
"Oh, I mean, so sorry for your loss."
The Goths went back to the stage, only for Ennui to retrieve their uneaten bunny from the lion's mouth.
The judge, amazed, didn't hesitate to give them a thumbs up.
Josee growled, holding up her stake. "That is it!"
Interview; Goths
"Judge said it was the greatest trick he'd ever seen." Ennui explained.
Crimson told them, "He offered us eight shows a week; we said no."
"Just wearing our happy faces for these cameras is exhausting."
End Interview
The Twins had just arrived at the stage.
Jay looked on. "Okay, the magic trick can't be that hard, right?"
Mickey, tired and delusional, rambled on, "It's okay Cupid, you'll find an arrow…"
The Sisters were attempting the challenge again, with Kitty climbing back in the cage.
"Emma you're training to be a lawyer, riddle me this- How did this get cleared by the legal team?"
Her older sister did not respond as the curtain went down.
As they attempted the challenge, the camera switched back to the twins and a scream was heard. At this, Mickey regained his bearings and instantly became terrified.
"We have to do THAT?!" Mickey asked in a panic. "I don't know, maybe we should try buggies."
"There's no time. I'll be the assistant. You turn the lever."
"But you could be eaten!" Mickey reminded him.
Kitty was shown, one of her ribbons being destroyed, and ponytails undone as she stepped out of the cage to avoid the lion. With the divider gone and the lion still remaining, the Sisters were given a thumbs down.
Jay slumped. "I messed up a lot today. Not to mention that old man is still stranded and probably hates us… If anyone deserves to be lion chow, it's me."
"No, Jay." Mickey took his brother's hand before he walked away. "Please… don't say that. Maybe we can do the buggies."
"How do we know that dune buggies wouldn't be anymore dangerous?"
The younger brother had no answer as Jay walked off-camera and into the dressing room.
Mickey looked at the ground worryingly before walking backstage.
At the race track, the Cadets were still trying the challenge.
"This is the sixth time, MacArthur! Get it together!" Sanders ordered.
"What do you mean? I'm totally together!" MacArthur defended.
"Maybe we should switch roles!"
At that time, Brody was shown hopping into the buggy as Geoff was shown climbing up the tower.
"You ready to rock, bro?!" Geoff asked.
"You know it, bro!" Brody answered.
The camera went black.
Back at the stage, Josee pulled the lever again, declaring, "This time, we nail it!"
Only Jacques was shown with his shoe in the lion's mouth, trying to muffle his agonized screams.
Upon failing the challenge for the umpteenth time, Josee's temper began to flare up again. "What's with you, are you hiding hamburgers in your dress?"
"Oh, it's not my fault I'm irresistible. It must be my natural manly musk."
He smelled his armpit in delight.
Josee rolled her eyes, "Yeah that's it, alright, we'll try this again."
"Ahem." Jay nervously squeaked out.
The Ice Dancers turned their attention to Mickey and Jay, now dressed up and ready to perform the magic trick.
"Oh right. Well go on ahead. Not like your luck will be any better."
Moments later, the twins were shown on the stage, with one in the cage. The lion growled as Jay tensed up.
"Well, here goes…" Mickey mumbled, before chanting the magic words. "Abracadabra!"
He moved the lever a little to the left. He looked and saw the divider was gone.
"Jay, oh no!"
The lion growled. Without hesitation, Jay ran out of the cage at an almost cartoonishly fast pace, only for him to trip half way through. He rolled and slid his feet out of there just moments before they would have been eaten off.
They were given a thumbs down, and they sadly groaned.
"Well, maybe the buggies challenge is harder." Jay suggested, trying to be optimistic.
Back at the track, Brody was now the one riding around as Geoff controlled the buggy. And Sanders was now piloting the buggy.
"Back at the buggy track, MacArthur and Sanders are mixing things up by trading positions. Also mixing things up are the Surfers, who have completed their challenge- several times over- but have now traded places as well." Don narrated.
"Yeah, baby!" Brody cheered as his buggy went around the course. "You've got this, princess!"
MacArthur looked at their time; 1:03.
"Dang it, three seconds over!" MacArthur exclaimed. "Are you sure about this?"
Sanders sighed. "We'll try this again."
Backstage, Jay looked on in concern. Emma was shown tapping her foot against the stage repeatedly. Kitty, now with her hair loose and even longer than her sister's, held the remaining ribbon in her hand as she looked around, breathing to steady herself.
"Well, it looks like the Ice Dancers are up again." Jay said.
"This might be it for us." Mickey said. "If I can't do the trick or you get eaten…"
Kitty came up to him. "Mickey… Please. Don't give up. You've come so far. Farther than I would have ever imagined." She took his hands and held them. "You're optimistic, you're kind despite everything and everyone against you. And… I like that."
He blinked in near breathlessness. "You really think so?"
"Hurry up, Kitty!" Emma called to her off-screen. "We're up next!"
She withdrew her hand and whispered, "Good luck."
Before running off, dropping the ribbon in the process.
"As the twins and sisters try to manifest magic skills, our two frontrunner teams have already completed the task and are in a footrace to the Chill Zone."
The Goths and Father and Son were shown racing to the carpet, the former team slightly ahead as Dwayne became more determined.
The Goths, who were running, just walked up to the carpet as Don drank a glass of water, spitting it out as they arrived.
"How is anyone that quiet?" The host cleared his throat. "Congrats on coming in first again."
The Goths walked off-camera without acknowledging his words. "Can we hang some bells around their necks or something?"
Soon the other team arrived. "Father and Son, you're in second place."
"Wahoo!" they cheered in unison.
Interview
"I will admit, sometimes I've feared Junior's video game habits might be bad, or worse yet addictive, but it came in real handy today."
"Thanks. And…" He looked a little annoyed with his dad. "Hey! I'm not that addicted!"
End Interview
Back at the sand track, the Cadets were finishing another lap as MacArthur grabbed the last flag.
"Forty nine seconds!" MacArthur reported from down below.
"Yes! We did it!" Sanders cheered.
"Let's roll!"
"Everyone's jetting, we should go." Geoff said.
"But we haven't done the 360 tsunami. Let's do that again!" Brody told him.
Geoff was irritated. "Dude!"
Brody mistook it for enthusiasm. "Dude!"
"Dude…"
The driver looked a little disappointed. "Ah, good point."
A black screen showed the Cadets on one half of the screen.
"Cadets, you're third."
Before showing the Surfer Dudes on the right half, as the screen showed solely them as Don spoke.
"Surfers, first to finish the challenge, fourth to arrive."
"Yes!"
"Best day ever!" Brody cheered.
"Only three teams left, who will make it to the Chill Zone? The pressure is on!"
The Ice Dancers were shown again, this time with Jacques, still wearing the dress but now wearing the bow tie and hat, was by the lever. Josee, in her assistant costume, was now in the box.
"Hopefully this works." Jacques prayed as the curtain went down. "Abracadabra!"
He turned the lever a little to the right, and, lo and behold, the divider was gone. And so was the lion.
Josee lifted her arms out, smiling and cheering,
They were given the thumbs up by the judge as the Ice Dancers cheered.
"Finally! To the Chill Zone!" Josee declared.
As Kitty got into the cage again, Mickey breathed in. He looked at the ribbon Kitty had dropped earlier. He faintly smiled as he pocketed it.
Interview; Mickey
"I know I should return it, but maybe it'll give us luck? I hope so…"
End Interview
Soon, the Ice Dancers arrived at the chill zone.
"Ice Dancers, you're in fifth place."
Josee and Jacques breathed a sigh of relief before the former growled.
Interview; Ice Dancers
"I can't believe the Goths came in first again!" Josee held the stake. "I knew I should have used this."
"They're not vampires!" He sighed. "At least we didn't finish last and," Jacques held up the dress. "I got to keep the outfit."
End Interview
"Two teams remain! Who's going to disappear into thin air?"
The Sisters were shown getting a thumbs up, and soon Mickey and Jay were back on stage.
"Please work…" Mickey prayed.
He turned the lever, and clinched his eyes shut as the curtain was lifted. He opened his left eye and sighed in relief; the lion was gone, and so was the divider.
The judge gave them a thumbs up.
"We did it, Jay!"
"Let's go!"
The twins were shown running, lagging a few paces behind the sisters.
"The two last teams are on their way to the Chill Zone, but I'll only get to call one of them a loser. Which team will it be?" Don narrated.
"Hurry!" Jay cried out.
Tense music swelled as the two teams raced. Emma glared her eyes as she narrowed on the carpet, and Mickey looked bleary-eyed.
They got closer…
And closer.
And closer..
And closer still..
Until at last…
The twins arrived at the carpet.
"Adversity Twins, you're in sixth!"
"Yes…" Jay faintly said.
"We did it, Santa Claus. I was a good boy…" Mickey said.
At that moment, exhaustion took him as he fell to the ground; his eyes closed and his body limp.
A horrified Kitty saw him fall. "Mickey!"
Running even faster than her older sister, she dashed up and knelt by his side, quickly examining him. "He's still breathing. Is he dehydrated? Get him some water when he wakes up!"
One of the interns immediately set a water bottle by her side. She gently shook him, trying to get him to respond. "Mickey… Mickey."
There was no response as Emma reached the carpet. Don looked on nervously, his attention divided. "Sisters, you're in seventh."
Emma moaned in dismay. "Oh…"
"Please… wake up!" Kitty pleaded.
Mickey moaned, before briefly coughing.
Kitty gasped as he slowly opened his eyes and blinked, the camera focusing on his blurred vision. "Kitty?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
"Oh, I'm so glad you're okay."
Don looked on in amusement as Mickey sat up and drank the water. The camera turned to show some of the other teams present, each with differing emotions on their faces.
"You seem to be awfully concerned for someone who isn't your own teammate." MacArthur commented.
"Um, have you seen the interactions between them?" Junior asked.
The camera then revealed some never-before seen footage; Kitty and Mickey shown giving each other friendly smiles in the hallway of a hotel, the ponytailed girl catching Mickey's glass of orange juice before it could hit the ground and returning it to him in a breakfast lounge, Mickey giving her a blueberry muffin, and the two of them sipping Fruit Punch while Emma, still in her Hawaiian bride attire, danced the hula, with Kitty smiling at Noah's blank stare.
Soon the camera turned back to the present.
"What's wrong with that?" She turned back to Mickey. "Even if we're not in an alliance, we're still friends, right?" Kitty questioned.
Mickey smiled. "Of course."
"Too bad we're done for." She began to falter. "Mickey, there's something you should know..."
Don soon interrupted, "Do you know that this is a non-elimination round?"
Emma breathed a sigh of relief while Kitty cheered. Don reentered the camera's view.
"So all seven teams survived… Sort of." he began. "But only one can win the million. Who will it be? I guess you'll just have to tune back in to see more of… the Ridonculous Race!"
He flashed a smile for the camera, ending the episode.
