The episode begins at the chill zone on Copacabana beach. Since everyone gets to leave in the order they arrived, the ice dancers got to roll out first.
*Interview break* Josee: We've won gold for the second time today. We'll use our lead to widen the gap even more. Jacques: We'll move so fast, they'll lose our camera crew.
The interview break ends with them choosing to slow down and give their fans a chance to watch them perform.
"What fans?" Macarthur asked.
"The rate they're going," Miles started. "There might not be any fans of them left once this is over."
The ice dancers' thrills quickly turn to chills upon finding out the next tip wants everyone to go to Transylvania. Don tries to speak, but only after spitting a spare set of teeth out.
Don: Transylvania: Home of majestic mountains, old Saxon architecture, and the birthplace of the heebie jeebies. Teams must travel here to this castle to receive their next tip.
"I bet Gwen would love to visit that castle," Noah said.
"It was going to be a thrill for me and Ennui," Crimson said.
"Of course it would," Sanders said.
The ice dancers board first, but their joy quickly turns to anger when more teams get on. In order shown, they are the daters, rockers, Dwayne Duo, Surfer dudes, sisters, and goths.
"This race is nothing but radical," Brody said.
"How cool is this?" Emma asked.
"I know," Kitty answered. "I just had to take a selfie."
Crimson: What is this strange feeling?
Ennui: I fear it may be happiness. *Interview break* Transylvania? I can't believe it.
Crimson: Awesome *End interview break*
"I'm just now realizing this," Dwayne Junior said.
"Realizing what?" Macarthur asked.
"Crimson and Ennui," Dwayne Junior answered. "For some reason, they remind me of Lucy Loud."
"Oh yeah," Kitty said. "I love The Loud House."
"I realized it too," Carrie said. "How come Lucy's family can see Lucy's excitement, but not everyone else, including us?"
"That's how I feel about Crimson and Ennui," Dwayne Junior said.
"Trust us," Crimson said. "We were pumped."
The ice dancers get disappointed to the point where Josee throws a tantrum off screen. Jacques says it might put her to sleep, and it does.
"He's right," Carrie said.
"One can predict she's dreaming about winning the whole race," Ellody said.
"We'll see," Macarthur said. "I still have my eye on that fool."
"What did she do now?" Geoff asked.
"Nothing," Macarthur answered. "Yet."
During another interview break, Tom shows off a hat he got during the previous episode.
Jen: Tom ordered 4000 of them to be shipped home.
Tom: I am gonna make fezzes happen.
"Have fun trying," Mary said.
Turns out, all the teams were there, racing to get on the first flight. Nobody wanted to be on the second flight, especially Stephanie, who told Ryan to launch to the front.
Macarthur: Take cover!
Everyone ducked in time.
"Nice throw!" Noah said out of sarcasm.
"Thanks," Ryan said.
"Okay," Stephanie said. "Not the best idea."
"Nope," Sanders said.
"And you're starting to feel a little abusive towards Ryan," Macarthur added.
"Was I?" Stephanie asked.
"A little," Ryan answered.
"A little?" Erin asked.
"Shut up!" Stephanie said before realizing why. "Oh. Wow."
Between the daters, a new compromise was made. Everyone wanted to see how long that was gonna hold up. The daters, Dwayne Duo, goths, sisters, cadets, ice dancers and surfer dudes all get on the first flight, leaving everyone else to take the second flight.
"That surely sucked for the time being," Noah said.
"Still," Owen said. "Great job whoever got to be on the first flight."
"Thanks," Kitty said.
"So glorious," Crimson said.
Sanders: We did really well on the first couple of days, but at the last two chill zones, we came 11th and 13th.
Macarthur: But we got ourselves on the first flight today, so we're back in kicking mode.
While the second flight takes off, the first one lands, allowing the first set of teams to head to the castle. The goths were the only ones at the time not to get frightened.
"Man!" Geoff said. "I thought Boney Island was scary, but that place makes one want to wet its own pants."
"I think I almost did," Stephanie said.
She then went to pee. Thankfully for her, she made it in time.
"This would make for a great short horror film," Dwayne Junior said.
"Really?" Dwayne Senior asked.
"You did say you were studying graphic design," Macarthur mentioned.
"Yeah," Dwayne Junior said.
"If you need extra actors, I'd be happy to step in," Carrie said.
"Me too," Kitty added.
"Don't forget us," Ennui said.
"You two?" Dwayne Junior asked. "You'd be perfect for a horror film."
Crimson and Ennui smiled. It was the first time in a while they did that.
Crimson: Wow. Okay, Dracula was the first goth ever. He was our king. To be here is… I just, I can't. I'm so…
Ennui: Hey. That was close. You almost got color in your face.
"Thanks for the warning," Crimson said.
A howl then came rushing through.
"Werewolves?" Emma asked.
"Don was not kidding," Stephanie said. "That's one creepy place for a leg of a race."
"I'm almost beyond certain Gwen can handle it," Noah said.
"Just make sure no one leaves her buried alive again," Owen said. "It's her biggest pet peeve."
*Interview break* Brody: No taxis around, but we looked up the road, and there's the castle.
Geoff: So creepy. I got goosebumps.
Brody: I nearly took a goose dump.
The interview break ends with them laughing and fist bumping.
With no taxis, everyone starts running up to the castle, but Josee pushes Sanders. It sends her tumbling and the Dwayne Duo falling over. Macarthur sees this and decides to give the ice dancers a piece of her mind.
"Thanks," Dwayne Senior said.
"That was totally rude of Josee," Erin said.
"See why I have beef for those ice dancers?" Macarthur asked.
"If we didn't before, we do now," Noah said.
"Crazy bitch," Ryan said.
"I heard that!" Stephanie commented.
"Josee, not you," Ryan stated.
Meanwhile, Carrie wants to know whether Tom or Jen started the blog. Unfortunately, this led to them getting into an argument.
"Thanks, Carrie," Tom and Jen both said together.
"Sorry," Carrie said. "I didn't know it would cause you two to fight."
Back at the castle, the daters arrive to get their next tip.
Stephanie: Yeah! First ones here.
Ryan: Wait a minute. How is that possible? The goths were ahead of us.
"Where did you two go?" Emma asked.
It then cuts to inside the castle, where the goths are looking at one of the paintings.
"You're already inside?" Macarthur asked.
"Castles like this feel like paradise to us," Crimson answered.
"While you and Josee wouldn't quit having beef for one another," Ennui said.
"She started it," Macarthur protested.
Meanwhile, the next tip reveals the challenge will go all-in mode.
"Teamwork is the best!" Stephanie said.
"You got that, right!" Brody said.
"This is gonna be so rocking," Geoff said.
Don: For this all-in challenge, teams must enter Dracula's castle and find an empty coffin. *After popping out of one* Whoever took the tip from the Don box must then drag the coffin to the graveyard with their teammate inside and tip it into an open grave.
Brody: Complete the task to get your next tip from a local gravedigger.
"Yeah," Noah said. "Gwen would love it."
"Except if she was the one who had to stay in the coffin," Geoff said. "No way I'm doing that to her."
To make it more difficult, whoever's in the coffin can't come out to help in any way possible.
"That alone gave me goosebumps," Dwayne Senior said.
It then cuts to Macarthur and Josee, who both want each other to get off.
"Embarrassing or not," Sanders started. "That's one thing Josee gets for sending me tumbling over."
"Heck yeah!" Macarthur said.
Don: As the cadets and ice dancers play in the mud, plane number two arrives, carrying the last 7 teams.
The twins were next in line to get spooked.
*Interview break* Jay: We know vampires aren't real. We're not silly kids, but werewolves are a different story.
Mickey: And if they can smell fear, then I'm in trouble because I am doused in odin-terrified. *End interview break*
"This is going to be tough for those two," Mary said.
"No kidding," Ellody commented.
It then cuts to the surfer dudes and sisters in the castle.
Brody: And then he screamed, 'dude! That moose doesn't need mouth to mouth. It's just a head on the wall'.
Everyone laughed.
"Okay," Emma said. "I'll give you that one."
"Thanks," Brody said. "That castle doesn't look creepy when inside."
Emma just wants to continue on with the race, so she asked the surfer dudes to leave.
Brody: Rad idea. Cover more ground. If we find coffins, we'll call you with our secret signal.
Geoff and Brody's signal was so silly, Kitty just had to take a selfie with them, which frustrates Emma again. Everyone laughed at Geoff and Brody.
"So hilarious," Mary said.
"Meanwhile," Ellody said to Emma. "Why can't you just let loose for once?"
As more teams arrived at the box, the Dwayne Duo ended up being the first team to find a coffin.
"So glorious," Dwayne Junior said.
During an interview break, Dwayne Senior allows Dwayne Junior to break a few rules, but not stay out past curfew or get a tattoo.
"Figures," Dwayne Junior said.
"Especially the tattoo thing," Dwayne Senior said. "Who needs that kind of shit anyway?"
Don then sends the show to a commercial break.
"That drop zone freaked me out," Emma said.
"Still can't believe you and Ennui feel at home there," Macarthur said to Crimson.
'No kidding," Crimson commented.
Stay tuned for part 2.
