Four years later, lol, let's see how this goes
The Loud House: A Broken Family
Chapter 12: "Exposed"
Lynn Sr ran as fast as his broken body could take him. He didn't even know where he was for that matter, or why he was targeted but he didn't care. He just kept running as much as he tortured body could take him.
The last thing he remembered was being dragged into some home by the lunatic who kidnapped him. That night was a blur. Rough and grainy.
"Need to keep going… must find… Lincoln!" He yelled to himself quietly, the only determination he had. He didn't know how. He didn't know who told him, but his son was alive. He had to keep going, it was the only way he could warn his family from this monster.
Suddenly the sound of growling made him stop in his tracks. He looked to his right slowly and froze, newfound fear overtaking him as the wide body of a grizzly kept its eyes on him. If his night wasn't already bad, it would be worse now.
"You must have faith in your son." The mysterious voice's words resonated in the former loud father's mind. He gripped his numb hands into fists and yelled at the beast, "BRING IT ON YOU BASTARD!?" He yelled with all his might as the grizzly stood on its hind legs, growing from five to now standing at eight feet tall.
Lynn was no small fry, yet his heart dropped, but he did not falter. He let out another yell as the man and mammal ran at each other.
"Focus your mind brother. The machine cannot help you if your mind is not clear. This is why I fear your injuries won't allow us to see whatever it is you think you saw." Lisa said as the screen held nothing but static. Lincoln's mind was too jumbled, his head injury had shot him in the foot and now he couldn't focus.
He slammed his fist against the side of the chair in anger, he pulled off the helmet and sighed as he held his head, "That man. There's something about him that I can just feel it. He's dangerous." Lincoln said as Lisa watched him closely. She then looked at her desk as she pulled out a syringe.
"Hold still" She said as she unwrapped some of Lincoln's cloths, her snow faired brother looked at her curiously as she injected the syringe into his vein, "And what exactly will this do?" He asked raising an eyebrow, Lisa looked to him with a mix of a smirk and respect, "I remember you could not stand the sight of a needle. Now you act as if it has no effect."
Lincoln smiled as Lisa finished her injection and released the needle from his arm, "That's because I've been hit with much worse Lisa." He said as Lisa pointed to the helmet, "Try again. Just focus as much as you can."
"But it didn't work last time so why would now- "Lincoln's voice escaped him as he felt his chest jolt as his eyes rolled into the back of his head, suddenly his memories were on display on screen at a rapid rate. Lisa watched in awe as not only had her injection worked, but she could see memories of her brother from his adolescent years now. The machine was still a prototype, so it could only go as far back as ten years prior, a feat she was still proud of.
"Lisa! What's going on?" Lincoln asked as his voice projected from the speakers connected to the machine, the scientist looked to her brother's body beside her as he was stuck in a trance like state. She ran to the machine as she spoke into a tube, "I've injected with you a serum I am testing. It's connected to the machine via nanotechnology, they're most likely connecting to your cerebral cortex right now."
"What?! Lisa, is this permanent!" Lincoln voice was filled with worry as Lisa kept quiet as she thought to herself, is it? I haven't had time to test it so I wouldn't say it's that dangerous right-
"LISA!" Lincoln yelled as Lisa sighed, "No dear brother it's not dangerous… I think."
Lincoln just sighed, "Alright fine, good enough for now. So, what do I do now?" He asked as Lisa turned some knobs on the dashboard to clear the static, "Now all you need to do is think back on that day you crashed. You said you saw that man, correct? Well, lets see if you're previous statement holds some value."
"Got it." Lincoln responded as the screen held minimal static for another ten seconds before suddenly the screen changed. We now saw Lincoln's memory from his point of view. Back in the woods as Lincoln heard a sound.
"This is it!" He said as his voice held a determined note. Lisa watched as she adjusted her glasses. The scene depicted looked like that straight out of the horror films Lucy watched. Suddenly her breathe hitched as she saw a figure of a man drag something bloody towards a cellar. It held the shape of a body as Lisa listened closely.
"Hey Lynn! I hope you like your new friend!" The man said as he dumped the body into the cellar. Lisa backed away as she breathed deeply. Her chest rose and fell back down quickly as she grabbed a seat to hold herself up.
"Got you bastard." Lincoln's voice spoke as his eyes rolled back into sight as he threw off the helmet with a smile. "We did Lisa, we got… Lisa?" He asked as he quickly approached his sister. She was breathing deeply as she held her chest, "I… I do not understand. I am feeling spikes of anxiety for some… reason." Lisa spoke slowly as Lincoln held his palm in the center of her back.
"Hey, it's okay. Just take it easy, take slow deep breathes, okay?" Lincoln said slowly as Lisa appreciated this. His calm voice reassured her she was alright. She followed his advice as she returned to normal. "T… Thank you Lincoln, that was unprofessional of me." Lisa said embarrassed as she held her back to Lincoln as he shook his head.
"I've dealt with panic attacks a lot in my time during boot camp. It was almost common occurrence over there, it would be weird not to have one." Lincoln said as Lisa shut out Lincoln's words and replayed her brother's memories like a film.
"Your machine can do that? Incredible." He said in awe as she shook her head, "Would it be that this were a great occasion. I'm afraid it's not elder sibling." Lisa said as she froze the memory on the man.
"What exactly do you mean?" Lincoln asked, his loud sibling curiosity now overtook him as he walked closer to the screen. Lisa pointed at the man as she spoke, "This man is Jack Pierce. Former head scientist at my research facility and… and…" Lisa trailed off as her body began to shake once again but Lincoln grabbed her hand, she looked to him surprised as he gave her a smile of support.
"Thank you… And he's a murderer." She finally said as Lincoln's eyes widened as he began to bolt for Lisa's door when she held him back, "Wait! We cannot be rash about this!" She yelled, barely holding him back.
"And why not! Mom is down there with a murderer, and you expect me not to do something!?" He rebutted as Lisa tackled him down into her carpet, "Listen to me brother, there is more you need to learn about him and his past before we do anything!" She yelled as Lincoln simply gave her a disinterested look, yet her expression begged him to stay.
"So, Jack, tell me more about you. What brings you to royal woods?" Rita asks as Jack laughs nervously, "Well if I'm being honest, it was you, Rita." He responded as Rita stiffened, which he noticed immediately, "Not like that! I apologize that came out wrong, I just meant you brought me to town because I sympathize with you."
"Sympathize how exactly?" Rita asked as she held her coffee close to her.
"It began before you left, I joined a research group employed by the U.S. military. They had asked us to create a sort of serum to enhance the abilities of soldiers- "
"Like Captain America?" The nerd in Lincoln asked as Lisa sighed, "Yes, like Captain America. Anyway, when we began to work on the serum, we were given a test subject to see where the serum would work and fail in certain areas… that man was him." Lisa said as Lincoln went quiet, "Wait but… how is he a murderer than?" Lincoln asked confused.
"Well, I had a family as well before… they were taken from me." Jack said as he pulled out a photo of him with a blond woman and a brunette son sitting on the steps of a white house, "We lived in a small town and were new to the community, yet they accepted us like we had lived there the whole time. We were going to have another child before…" Jack went quiet until Rita laid her hand on top of his, he looked up to her surprised as she gave him a sincere expression, "Please continue."
Jack nodded.
"Just after you left, about a year after we were almost done on the final version of the serum… Everything was fine but… he…" Lisa trailed off as Lincoln's heart raced, what had this monster done to shake his sister, normally so nonchalant to her core.
"Lisa we can stop if this is too much, I understand." Lincoln began to say but Lisa shook her head, "No. I… I must. You need to know." She said as Lincoln nodded, "He lost control. It all happened so fast. No one survived, I hid as fast as I could and… maybe if I paid more attention to the doses, I gave him… my associates might still be- "Lincoln hugged Lisa tightly as tears pour out her eyes, staining her face as she held onto her brother tightly.
"Lisa you couldn't have known that would happen; he must be mentally unstable to have had a reaction like that." Lincoln said as Lisa shook her head, "There's more…"
"We lived happy and peaceful for a good year but… when my wife had problems in her labor with our daughter… it proved too much for her and… I buried her and our daughter together; it would be what she would've wanted." Jack said as he held his head down.
Rita held his hand tightly as she wiped a tear from her eyes, "I'm so sorry Jack." Jack shook his head and smiled, "No, its quite alright. I sympathize with you because… after my wife's death me and my son were ostracized from our town. It got so bad to the point where I sent my son to live with his grandparents. They believed I had killed my wife, blamed me and drove us out. So, when I heard about your story I related and… I guess I couldn't control myself and made my way here to Royal Woods."
Rita smiled as she handed him a tissue, "Well I for one am happy you came to Royal Woods. You're always welcomed here Jack." Rita's warm smile made Jack smile bigger.
"When the police and military arrived to take my statement, I overheard a conversation by the general in charge and her commander. She couldn't care less if my comrades died, but she wished we still had him in custody so that they may experiment on him, she called him her greatest weapon like some lunatic Lincoln!" Lisa yelled as more tears rushed out her eyes.
"She… Greatest Weapon… Lisa, what did this General look like?" Lincoln asked as his greatest fear was beginning to overtake him. Lisa went quiet as she tried her hardest to remember, "She was tall. Stylized with many badges and medals and… and…" She trailed off as she tried to think harder.
"…did she have a scar on her face?" Lincoln asked as he looked down, Lisa's eyes went wide as she raised an eyebrow, "Yes… how did you- "
"I think I know who you're talking about. She was the same woman who trained me at my boot camp." Lincoln said as he gripped his fists, Lisa's eyes widening in shock, "There's… the probability of that is..."
"Trust me it's her. I'm just not sure why she would do this when I…" Lincoln said as he pinched the bridge of his nose, "Alright. So, the man downstairs is the same man you were hired to experimented on. So, if he does have the effects of this serum, how would we know for sure?" Lincoln asked as Lisa thought before saying, "There's one way to know for sure."
"I should be heading back Rita but thank you for inviting me over. It was nice to finally talk about this." Jack said as Rita held her hand on his shoulder, "Please, I understand Jack, you're welcome anytime- "
"WATCH OUT MOTHER!" Lisa yelled from above the stairs as several pieces of silverware began to fall down towards them. Jack pushed Rita aside as he caught several pieces of silverware.
If it really is him, he'll have reflexes similar to those of some of the greatest predators today.
Jack caught many pieces of silverware and set them down just as quick as he caught them to everyone's surprise sans Lincoln and Lisa who only acted surprise.
"Everyone alright?" Jack asked as Rita stood up quickly, "That was… amazing Jack, did you work in a circus?" She asked as she laughed, Jack could only nod as he shrugged, "Well, I am very light on my feet." He looked up the stairs and made eye contact with Lincoln. His gaze was dark as was Lincoln's, no light behind either of their eyes.
"You must be Lincoln. Nice to meet you." Jack spoke as Lincoln only watched him, "Likewise." That was all Lincoln said as Jack made his leave. Entering Lisa's room again, Lisa replayed the footage in slower speed, "You recorded it that fast?"
"I have camera's all over the house brother." Lisa said as Lincoln blushed, "Uh, even the bedrooms- "
"No of course not, though the walls are thin so you and Rebecca might want to- "
"Let's not even go there, alright, what did the camera's catch?" Lincoln asked as they watched back the footage. "He caught all one hundred pieces of silverware in under ten seconds. He's definitely our murderer." Lisa said as Lincoln gripped his fists tightly, "So what I saw was real. This bastard has our father and is hiding him in some cellar in the middle of nowhere. I'll… I'll…" Lisa grabbed her brother's fist as he looked to her confused, "You're just as upset as I am brother. I am to blame for this monster, but I promise to right my wrongs and help you find father unit in this event, and hopefully arrest this monster." Lincoln nodded in response, "We need to warn everyone else."
Somehow, he was alive. Lynn Sr had fought the bear and won, yet he wasn't unscathed. He had dragged himself back into town bleeding profusely, holding his side as he tried his hardest to stop the bleeding. His world was starting to spin, he was losing too much blood.
Yet he couldn't stop, he had to keep going. "For them." He thought to himself, picturing his family in front of him as he dragged himself through the street, unbeknownst to him, a car had stopped in front of him, almost hitting him. When Lynn went to apologize his eyes widened, out of fear and anger.
"Well, well well, you've got more heart than I thought Loud." Jack said, as he smiled darkly at Lynn. He went to scream out, but Jack was quick, clasping his hand over his mouth and dragging him towards the car. Lynn glared as he bit deep into Jack's hand, ripping skin as he kicked Jack away.
Jack bit down on his tongue to keep himself from yelling out as Lynn continued to drag himself towards the home. Thinking quickly, Jack looked at the weapons in his car as he smirked.
Lynn was inches away from the door when he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, near his cut as Jack whispered into his ear and shushed him, "You're losing a lot of blood buddy, I'll save you the muscle and knock for you."
Three knocks on the door caught Rita's attention as she made her way to the door, "Who could that- "As she opened the door, she was horrified to see Lynn Sr holding his side as he was bloodied from head to toe, he tried to speak but collapsed in the process. Rita screamed out as she bent down to check her ex-husband's pulse.
Lincoln was downstairs in seconds as he saw the sight, he then glared as he ran outside to see if he was still around, but his car was gone. He turned back towards his mother and screamed out for Lisa to call the police.
"Not good. How did Lynn escape?" He asked himself as the wound on his hand began to heal, "It's no problem, he's lost so much blood he won't remember a th…" He trailed off as he looked to the blond woman a few feet ahead of him.
She wore sunglasses on top of her long blond hair as she wore a silky green dress to adorn her slender figure. Leni Loud exited the mall with a happy smirk on her face. Jack Pierce smirked as he spoke, "I wish I could stop, but my lust cannot be contained."
To Be Continued
I honestly didn't expect to ever continue this but after rereading (painfully) I think it's fair I finish this story off lol
Hope you enjoyed, I don't know when the next chapter will come honestly but look out for it
