Hello and welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed the introductory chapter. Like many other fics that have done the shuffled cast format (idk how to name it exactly), I will respond to every review. Here goes, ahem...
Shiroyama38: Oh, I can promise there will be a number of differences in how the eliminations play out. Having every challenge take place in a different order will play a big factor in this.
Interesting prediction about Rodney. We'll have to wait and see where my writing takes him. Thank you for reading!
Explorer of the Unknown: Thanks! And yeah, I've really wanted to write a fic like this for a while, but also wanted to do something with a bit more originality. I hope this is the right balance of both.
Intriguing predictions and reasoning. May we find out soon if they come to fruition or not. Thank you for reading!
...
I will post a recap of who's still in and the elimination order at the start of each episode. As you may be able to tell by the title, this episode's challenge is from the merge of TDI. Say Uncle!
Who'll be the first to leave in this AU of Total Drama Island? Time to find out...
Killer Bass: Courtney, Noah, Sadie, Dakota, Sam, Scott, Dave, Sugar, Emma, Bowie, Raj
Screaming Gophers: Leshawna, Owen, Trent, Anne Maria, Brick, Ella, Jasmine, Rodney, Axel, Lauren, Zee

Total Drama Island: Recasted and Reordered Episode 2: No Pain, No Game
The scene opened up with varying footage of the previous episode, such as some of the campers arriving on the dock and opening the door to their cabins, as Chris was heard narrating.
"Last time on Total Drama Island… twenty-two campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp, then have to face the judgement of their fellow campers."
Sadie's voice could be heard next.
"What do you think they'll make us do?"
"Probably some childhood game like tag." replied Bowie.
The footage then cut to the show stage as Bowie finished the recap.
"Maaaaaybe that was an understatement."

Intro

The scene opened up to show all twenty-two campers lined up in front of the show stage where Chris stood.
"Woah, uh, they weren't kidding when they told us how hard this would be in the contract." Rodney said as he looked at the stage in shock.
Raj, standing next to him, looked excited. "No kidding, this looks awesome!" He clenched his fists and raised them in the air. "How does it work?"
"I don't think this is something to kid about." Courtney chimed in, arms folded with concern.
"Welcome to your first challenge: The time-honored game of torture." Chris introduced with his arms up. "Say Uncle!"
Dave let out a nervous chuckle. "G-game of what?" he stuttered. Bowie and Trent gave The Host a concerned look as well.
"Come on up, find yourself a seat, and let's get this party started." Chris instructed. "Bass, on the left side," he gestured to his right, "Gophers, on the right." he finished, gesturing to his left.
All of the campers did as they were instructed, most with looks of disturbance, confusion, and curiosity... aside from Lauren, who couldn't stop giggling as she took a seat.
Leshawna took her seat as she looked at the frightening teen in mild disappointment. "Girl, what is so funny?" she asked.
"He said torture." Lauren said nonchalantly. "I like torture."
Leshawna just glared with her eyes wide open.
All of the Gophers were seated as follows from left to right: Ella, Lauren, and Axel in the bottom row; Zee, Leshawna, Anne Maria, and Rodney in the middle row; Trent, Jasmine, Owen, and Brick in the top row.
The next scene focused on the Bass as Dakota voiced her concern. "I don't think this is, like, legal, is it?"
Emma corrected her blankly. "It doesn't matter. We're stuck on a game show fifty miles out from the mainland."
Noah chimed in. "With no access to internet connection, I'd imagine."
"Please don't remind me." Dakota softly pleaded, looking more saddened as she spoke. "You know my fans will be left in the dark about me or what I'm about to go through…"
Emma and Noah shared a look and rolled their eyes.
The Bass were seated as follows from right to left: Sadie, Sam, and Courtney in the bottom row; Dakota, Noah, Emma, and Scott in the middle row; Raj, Bowie, and Dave in the top row.
Chris walked back to the middle of the stage as everyone was seated and facing him.
"You are all about to be put through tests of endurance so insane that some of them sent our interns to the emergency room." The Host informed, earning him even more worried looks from the cast.
The instructions continued anyway. "If you back down from the challenge or do not last the required ten seconds, you will be eliminated. The first team to have all of their members eliminated from the challenge will go to our first campfire ceremony of the season."
"What kinds of torture?" Leshawna asked warily.
"Yeah, it bettah not cost me my looks, whatevah it is!" voiced Anne Maria.
"Why don't you ask my lovely assistant…" The Host gestured to the left as another familiar man came on stage, arms crossed and carrying a kitchen knife. The only difference was that he now wore a white mask covering just about his entire face.
"All right… let's do this!" Chris said enthusiastically. "Starting with the Killer Bass… Dave, you're first up." he announced, as the camper in question gulped nervously.
"Let's spin the wheel of misfortune to select your torture!" The Host announced as he spun a wooden wheel next to him. On it were various hand-drawn symbols on paper that were taped to the wood. A moment later, the arrow at the top landed on a symbol showing a turtle.
"Turtle puck shots!" Chris vaguely clarified.
"Our interns spent weeks collecting the grumpiest, angriest, crustiest, hungriest, old snapping turtles on the island." The Host informed Dave as he was now standing out of his seat next to him, putting a hand on his own arm fearfully.
"While you stand in the goalie net completely unprotected, Chef will fire off turtle snapshots." Dave could only look on nervously as Chef was seen with a hockey stick and more than a handful of snapping turtles in front of him, eyes all closed and actively biting.
The next scene showed Chris pushing Dave in front of a small soccer net as the latter fiddled with his fingers.
"If I were you, dude, I'd protect your coconuts." Chris whispered to the boy before running out, backtracking, and whispering another few words. "This could get ugly." He then ran away once again, leaving Dave alone with the net.
A timer was seen at the upper left corner as Chris spoke. "If you can stay in for ten seconds you'll go onto the second round." A buzzer sound went off.
Dave looked back in front of him, eyes wide open, as Chef began firing the cranky animals with his stick. As the first one came flying toward him, he gasped and bent the upper half of his body forward, successfully dodging the first attacker as it flew into the net. However, a second turtle came almost immediately and bit the boy in the hair. Dave immediately let out a yelp and wailed his arms rapidly. The next second though, he paused as another snapper came and bit his finger. The boy tried to fight back tears before he started wailing and ran off as Chef shot the rest of the turtles into the goal.
"Oooooh, not quite." Chris said. "Dave, congratulations on being the first failure. You can return to your new seat."
Dave's office chair disappeared under the table and in its place, a wooden pillary appeared. The boy went back up to his spot and placed his arms and neck on the pillary in shame as it closed.
"Yep, this is the life." Dave said in a pessimistic tone, looking down.
Bowie looked over to him with an eyebrow raised.
/Confessional: Bowie/
"That boy seems to have quite some issues." Bowie narrated in the confessional. "If he can't get people on his side, that's gonna be a problem." he put a hand to his chin in thought. "Perhaps I can use that to my advantage."
/
"Hey." Bowie turned to Dave. "Don't beat yourself up over this. It's just one challenge."
The boy in the pillary gave him a nervous smile. "Uh… yeah…" he replied awkwardly.
The focus was back on Chris as he spun the wheel and called up another player. "Jasmine, you're up." he commanded.
The Australian girl stood up with a wide look and walked over to Chris. In front of her was a water-filled barrel the same height as her knees stood from the floor, leeches crawling on the outside, and alongside it a three-step wooden stool.
"Um, Chris, I don't think I'm gonna fit in that." Jasmine told him.
The Host moved his eyes away briefly before giving a casual but noticeable look of realisation. "Oh you're right, my apologies. That one was meant for Dave. Y'know, in case he could pass the first round, hehehe." he mocked with a giggle.
The mentioned camper just sighed in defeat.
"Anywho, Chef… can you get us a bigger barrel?" Chris requested.
Conveniently, Chef came walking toward them pushing a barrel notably taller and larger in diameter than the last. The next second, he arrived and put a hand out, gesturing for Jasmine to step into her challenge.
The Australian teen complied, and steadily climbed in, letting the water level reach no higher than her neck as the timer began. The first five seconds, Jasmine could feel nothing and calmly smiled. However, as time moved forth, she began to show signs of pain as she grit her teeth. A few more seconds later, she closed her eyes tight, but couldn't bear it anymore as she leaped out with a scream.
The buzzer went off, and wet with leeches crawling all over her body, the girl looked at Chris with worried aggression.
"Ooooh, close shave, Jasmine." Chris commented as the timer was shown: 9.999999999999999999
"Nine and nine one-hundred thousandths of a millionth… whatever. It's not ten. You're out. You can return to your new seat." he finished.
/Confessional: Jasmine/
"How on Earth does that happen?" complained Jasmine, seated on the toilet as she shrugged and crossed her legs. "I'm not experienced with anything digital, but even I know they don't make timers with that many decimal places, come on now."
/
The comfy office chair that Jasmine used was swiftly swapped out for another pillary as Jasmine took her spot again.
"Next up is Scott." The Host announced as he spun the wheel again. It landed on the symbol of an eel.
The teen in question got up from his seat and joined Chris. "Let's just get this over with." He said blankly, arms crossed.
The scene changed to show Chris standing beside Scott, who had his back leaning against a metal rectangle on a backward angle. "This isn't what I imagined being shocked would look like." the boy said, slightly agitated.
Two electric eels were grabbed out of what appeared to be a fish tank by a pair of white, long gloves. The scene zoomed out to reveal that it was Chef, who brought the two electric fish over to Scott and Chris.
"Clear!" The Host shouted as he stepped behind the rectangle. The next second, Chef brought the two eels to Scott and the Farm Boy let out a pained scream as mass amounts of electric current transferred to his body. His hair shot upward as a sizzling burn came from his skin.
"Un- Dammit!" Scott shouted in agony as he grit his teeth hard. A few more seconds passed before the timer made a ding sound.
"And Scott moves on to round two!" Chris announced.
The scene changed to show the wheel spinning and landing on the symbol of a foot with five toes, before zooming out to show Chris and Axel, the latter with hands on her hips and a serious look.
"Our next challenge will be…" the man paused briefly, "spending ten seconds in a crate with Sasquatchanakwa."
"Easy enough," Axel told him with a confident smile that turned into a frown, "whatever that is."
Axel complied, opening and closing the door on her way in. A second later, the Zombie Enthusiast emitted an aggressive roar as the shriek of a deep-voiced monster soon followed. The box shook frantically as hundreds of purple hair strands poured out of the holes near the crates top. The violent shaking stopped as soon as a ding sound came from the timer.
Axel walked out wearing what appeared to be the upper head of the creature, a mix of purple and periwinkle, on her own head, as well as the monster's legs and feet, which had purple fur and periwinkle toes, as her boots.
"And Axel sticks it out!" Chris announced as said camper boasted a proud grin on her face.
"Dayum, that girl can fight!" Sugar commented from her seat, eyes wide in disbelief.
"Now let's see who showed less courage than Axel and cried Uncle." stated the Host as a montage began to play.
-
Sam was shown in a T-pose with bees entirely covering his upper torso and arms up to the elbows. The Gamer let out a sneeze and one of the bees moved to sting his cheek. The next second, he moved his hand to cover the sting, but the swarm moved with him and started swarming his face. The boy screamed and swatted his face continually as a buzzer sound came out, indicating his failure.
-
Trent was seen hopping from rock to rock with skunks in between them. "Ewww, love the skunk jump." the Host commented as Trent made a successful maneuver, landing on one foot, a skunk let out a fart that caught the boy's face, causing him to cough, lose focus, and fall over as the buzzer went off.
-
Sugar was eating rapidly from an ice cream container, around her were several empty containers. "Oh, and who can forget the old ice cream brain freeze?" Chris asked. About six seconds in, the Farm Girl stopped and put her hands on her head as the freeze got to her. Another buzzer sound went off.
-
Leshawna stood in the same position Scott was in with a serious expression and Chris next to her. "Clear once again." The man notified Chef, disappearing behind her. The bigger of the two men brought two eels to Leshawna's skin and shocked her, making strands of her hair spike up. A ding sound could then be heard.
-
The background changed to show space with a unicorn and several dolphins swimming around. "New age music torture anyone?" Chris asked in a curious tone as Raj was seen with headphones and a fearful look on his face. Eight seconds in, he couldn't take it and pulled off the device. The buzzer went off and Raj was just shaking as Chef gave him a blank stare.
/Confessional: Raj/
Raj sat on the toilet shaking rapidly, his legs huddled against his chest and arms hugging his lower legs. "Not… awe-awe… some…" he stuttered.
/
Zee entered the same crate that Axel had been in with a look of curiosity and holding a soda. After just three seconds, the boy screamed as he burst out of the crate, creating a hole in the wood that matched his silhouette perfectly. "Not the sodaaaaaa!" he yelled as the same can he was holding was now crushed and orange liquid came spilling out as he ran. The buzzer went off again.
-
Chef held an active chainsaw as he moved closer to two small ponytails of black hair. The scene zoomed out to reveal they belonged to Sadie, who looked beyond scared. When the chainsaw was roughly an inch away, the girl ran away swiftly, earning a buzzer sound.
-
Ella was seen in front of the same soccer net Dave stood with, a worried look on her face showing. A snapping turtle came her way and the Princess caught it with ease, putting it between her right hand and right hip. She caught another one and placed it between her left hand and hip. She then ducked under the next turtle before running off stage, giving her the buzzer sound.
/Confessional: Ella/
Ella sat on the toilet with the two snappers she took, both of them standing on her lap and glaring at her. "I just can't bear to think of what these poor babies went through being hurled at the soccer net." she commented while stroking both turtle's shells, slowly but steadily relaxing them. "They deserve a fair chance just like us humans."
/
Chris and Chef were seen looking out at Ella as she disappeared into the woods with the snappers. "Should I go grab her?" Chef asked the Host.
"Nah," responded Chris, "we've both got a challenge to take care of. She can join her new seat if she comes back. Anywho…" he spun the wheel and it landed on a picture showing a marshmallow lit on fire. "Dakota, you're up!"
The girl in question folded her arms. "Um, what is it?" she asked warily.
"Marshmallow waxing," the Host told her, "if you can take the pain for a full ten seconds, you can go to the next level." Chef was seen inserting a package of marshmallows into a boiling pot.
Dakota gave him a disgusted look. "Okay, no way am I doing that."
"Are you suuuuure?" he responded with a question.
"Oh come on, it'll only last a moment. Just do it." Courtney told her sternly.
Dakota's expression changed from disgust to fear as she paused for a second. She then looked down and said, "No, I'm sorry. I just can't do that to my face."
"Shame." Chris said as Dakota fell beneath her table with her chair before reappearing with her neck and arms restrained by a pillary. The Host continued. "Well, since we can't afford to waste the white stuff," he looked over to the wax Chef had just made, "someone else will have to take this one. And next in line is… Anne Maria."
The other beauty-obsessed girl raised her eyebrows before glaring. "No way am I gettin' that either! Look at this tan." she pointed to herself.
"C'mon soldier, you can't at least try right?" Brick asked her in a hopeful tone.
"I'll do it!" came the voice of Lauren as she raised her hand. The Gophers next to her looked in bewilderment.
Chris looked at her in shock for a second. The next moment, his phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and accepted the call.
"It's Chris. Yeah. Yeah, she wants to do it." he told the caller. "Okay." he hung up and turned his attention to Lauren. "Okay, the judges will allow it, but they want to know why."
The Scary Girl grinned deviously. "Anyone's pain and suffering is my joy and peace." she responded, followed by a laugh.
/Confessional: Leshawna/
"Is it just me," Leshawna started in the confessional by putting her hands up, "or is that girl some kinda crazy?" she finished by tapping her head with a finger.
/
"That girl is so, like, scary." commented Sadie with a nervous look.
"Alrighty then." The Host responded hesitantly.
Lauren jumped onto the same rectangle that Scott leaned against for the eel challenge. Chef took a lump of melted marshmallow wax and tossed it onto Lauren's face. The girl clutched her hands tight and shook them rapidly as a muffled scream could be heard. Both audiences looked in shock before a ding sound came.
Chef removed the wax and Lauren was relieved of pain, despite showing her teeth with a smile almost immediately after her face was visible again.
"Ouch, that had to hurt." Trent commented.
Chris spun the wheel once more and watched it land on the bees. "Your turn Courtney!" Chris told her.
Courtney tensed up and looked with wide eyes. "Oh uh, I don't know if I can do this..." she said nervously.
Emma sighed. "Fine, I'll do it." She told the Host.
Courtney looked up in a brief glimpse of shock. She then shook her head and responded. "No, no, I can do it, it's just-"
Emma cut her off. "It's really not that hard, you know. I got this one anyway." Courtney just slumped down in annoyance.
/Confessional: Emma/
Emma put her hands on her hips as she sat down. "Yeah, I wasn't trying to put down Courtney or anything, I just want to get my torture out of the way. I'm here, so I might as well do it." she finished with a sigh.
/
The scene flashed to show a bored Emma with bees covering her upper body as the timer hit ten and a ding sound came out.
"And Emma moves on. The Gophers lead 7-5."
Another flash showed a large, purple snake wrapped around Rodney as he struggled, his eyes shut tight. The Farm boy then roared and lifted his arms out of the snake's grasp with fists in the air, making the creature loosen his grip on him and fall to the ground. The boy then ran away, still roaring with his fists in the air as the buzzer sound was heard.
The next scene showed the spinning wheel land on the barrel again. "Back to the leech barrel." commented Chris. "Noah, you're up."
The boy got up and joined the Host, who was standing next to a barrel with several leeches crawling on the exterior. He got in and started talking after the first two seconds.
"Is this some kind of kindergarten joke? These things can't even-" he was cut off as the leeches started sucking his blood, and made a cringing face that got more visible as time progressed. Eight seconds in, he couldn't take it anymore and leaped out with a yelp.
Noah, arms shaking with the little creatures crawling over his body, angrily glared at the Host. "What joke now?" Chris asked in a mocking tone. "Doesn't matter, you're out."
Noah took his new seat as Chris spun the wheel again. As it continued going around and around, he spoke. "Anne Maria, you're up. For real this time."
Lauren raised her hand upon hearing this. The Host shook his head in disapproval. "And no, no one may take your place this time." He told the Beauty Queen. Lauren pouted and looked down.
"Fine, what is it I'm doin' this time?" Anne Maria asked, clearly irritated.
"Get your nose hair plucked. Just one pluck will do." he responded.
"What, heck no!" the girl refuted. "You know how much pain will damage the skin?" she tried to point out arrogantly.
"Oh quit it with the beauty stuff!" yelled Axel, pointing a finger at her teammate. "Just go and get it over with!"
Zee had a notably more relaxed response. "Yeah, it's just a little harmless piece of hair. All you have to do is simple, ignore the pain."
Anne Maria huffed and crossed her arms. "Well, too bad. This Jersey girl's gotta protect her tan." she said defensively.
"Are you suuuuuuuuure?" The Host asked curiously. "Your team might not be happy…"
"Oh, we'll be anything but happy if she chickens out again." Axel added on.
"Hey!" The Jersey Girl looked down at the Zombie Enthusiast. "How would you feel if you had to risk somethin' so integral to you?" she asked.
Axel shot her a scowl in frustration and started to noticeably shake.
"Alright, that's enough, both of you." Brick said with an annoyed look. "We can't be having petty conflicts like this, we're a team."
"Yeeeeah, a team that's down to five players." added Chris, as Anne Maria's seat changed from a cozy couch to a pillary that closed itself onto her arms and neck.
Another montage segment began, starting with Bowie on the same challenge Trent failed earlier. The Flamboyant young man leaped from rock to rock sticking one leg forward as he ascended from the floor each time. A skunk stunk the air ahead of Bowie, but he simply closed his eyes and held a hand to his nose as he successfully landed on the last rock, earning him a ding sound.
-
Owen was shown performing the ice cream eating challenge Sugar had failed. At around the six second mark, the boy dropped the spoon he was holding, put his hands to his head, and screamed. The buzzer sound rang.
-
Courtney was seen leaning on a metal rectangle as Chef brought a handheld chainsaw to her hair. The girl ran almost as soon as the tool started roaring to life, a buzzer sound subsequently rang.
-
Brick stood in front of the same soccer net from before, confident and ready to take on the turtles. Chef fired the first one, it opened it's mouth and snapped onto the Soldier's arm, making him close his eyes and grit his teeth as he bent over to compose himself. There was no time for Brick to regain focus however, as the next one landed on his nose. He then screamed and ran off the stage, making the buzzer sound go off.
-
Scott relaxed himself in the barrel of leeches with a smile. Five seconds in however, that smile faded into a look of disgust. The teen tried to take in the pain of leeches sucking his blood, but he just couldn't take it and climbed out at eight seconds with a yelp. He fell face first and groaned as the buzzer went off once again.
/Confessional: Scott/
"Argh, what is this show's deal?" asked an angry Scott, sitting with his hands on his upper legs and body covered in several leeches. "I'm not the nicest person to be around, but this Chris guy has hit a new low." he plucked a leech off his arm. "Ow!"
/
The montage ended as Chris announced the next camper. "Lauren, you're up. Again."
The Scary Girl put up a hand briefly before talking. "Ooh, can I dare someone else to do it?" She asked with a devilish grin.
The Host put his hand to his chin before responding. "Hmmm… okay. But, if your victim survives, you will be out instead."
Lauren clapped her hands in joy. "Yay! Let's see…" she looked at the remaining Killer Bass as she stood up, "I choose you, Bowie!" The girl pointed a finger his way. "I'm gonna love watching you get hurt!" she finished with a giggle as Bowie widened his eyes and showed a concerned look.
/COMMERCIAL BREAK/
The scene opened up with the same nervous look that Bowie had before.
"Alright Bowie, times-a-wasted." Chris informed him. "Get your butt down here and put on the headphones."
"Don't look at it that way dude." responded Raj from his pillary, looking over at Bowie with a confident smile. "You are good. Go and show her who's boss, for the Bass!"
Bowie put on a smile and joined Chris, who was holding a pair of headphones next to a blue office chair. The scene flashed ahead to show Lauren's victim wearing the device with a look of dread on his face. The timer was already at six seconds and counting.
Seven… he grit his teeth.
Eight... he closed his eyes.
Nine... he clenched his fists.
Ten. Bowie completed his dare.
The boy threw the headphones on the ground and sighed in relief.
"And Bowie sticks it out, so Lauren is out of the game. Reckless choice there." commented Chris as the girl's chair was swapped out for a pillary.
Only four remained. Bowie and Emma for the Killer Bass, and Axel and Leshawna for the Screaming Gophers.
"We're tied," the Host announced, "two against two. Let's see how these last few rounds play out." Another montage began to play.
Emma stood with her arms spread out, her face near-expressionless as bees swarmed her body. She succeeded as a ding sound was heard.
-
Axel stood in front of the soccer net, her eyes angrily focused on Chef with her teeth showing. A turtle came soaring in her direction, but she jumped and kicked it away with one foot out. The next one went into the net as she ducked. The third one was kicked as well, and just as a fourth snapper was about to land on Axel's face, she managed to grab it with both hands on the shell. In an overhand toss, the Survivalist chucked it back at Chef, making him scream as the turtle landed on his face. A ding sound rang out.
-
Bowie was seen leaning against the rectangle from earlier as Chef brought tweezers to his nostril and plucked a nose hair out. The Flamboyant teen made a soft "ow" sound in response. The ding sound rang once again.
-
Leshawna was seen scooping ice cream out of its container and rapidly eating it. The timer reached ten, and the ding sound came out. She put a hand to her forehead and grit her teeth in pain.
-
"Well dang, after twenty or so rounds of torture, we're down to four steely competitors and the sudden death round." announced Chris. "We would do this with two left, buuuuut we're running out of airtime."
/Confessional: Leshawna/
"I did not make it this far to quit now." stated Leshawna in the confessional, hands on her hips confidently. "Whatever it takes to get the Gophers the win, I'm gonna do."
/Confessional: Emma/
Emma looked down with a hand behind her back. "I can't really say I expected to make it this far. I mean, I'm normally this confident, but…" she crossed her arms and looked up, "I guess it doesn't hurt to try. This is for a hundred grand after all." she gave the camera a soft smile as she finished.
/
"Your final challenge is…" the Host began, "The grizzly bear log roll. Emma, you're up first."
The scene flashed forward to show the lake, where a bear stood on its hind legs on a wooden log. The bear smiled almost deviously as Emma and Chef were seen on the dock next to the log, the former giving a worried look.
"Molotov the Bear," Chris introduced, "performs with the Russian National Circus and has been the European log-rolling champion for the past twelve years." Molotov began running on the log, making it roll in and out of the water. "To win, you must last ten seconds on the log while avoiding certain death in the piranha-infested water." as the Host finished, piranhas jumped in the lake behind where Molotov was standing.
Emma's initial look of fear changed as she responded. "I dare Axel to do it!" she said loudly, turning around and pointing a finger at the girl in question.
/Confessional: Axel/
"I don't get what was going through that girl's head." Axel said in the confessional as she put her elbows on her knees and sighed. "I wouldn't have dared the strongest person if I were in her shoes."
/
The scene changed to show Axel balancing herself on one end of the log as Molotov stood at the other end.
"Annnnnd go!" Chris started the timer. The Circus Bear started running, forcing Axel to follow suit as the log started to roll in the opposite direction. The Survivalist struggled to keep balance as the timer counted closer to ten. Molotov, on the other hand, did not waver and looked comfortable. Two seconds, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine…
Shortly before the timer hit ten, Axel landed one foot just an inch away from the log and into the water, causing her to lose all balance and fall off. A splash sound could be heard shortly after.
"Ooooooooh…" The Host cringed, "So close! Unfortunately, Axel's foot touched the lake just before the ten second mark, so she's out!" he announced.
Axel climbed out, hopped onto the dock, and shook excess water off her face, giving nothing but a scowl as she walked by Chris and Chef. Emma crossed her arms and smiled as her opponent also passed her, Bowie, and Leshawna.
"Good effort, girl." Leshawna said sympathetically. Axel's face did not change at this response as she continued walking away. The former of the two frowned and rolled her eyes.
"Leshawna…" Chris called out, "Your turn."
The girl in question put her hands on her hips and looked down in thought. A second later, she put a finger up before pointing it at the boy next to her. "I'm daring Bowie on this one."
Bowie gave a paranoid look to his left before changing his expression to a soft smile. "Oh well, I guess it's my lucky day." he said as he put his hands together.
"If you can stay on ten seconds with-" Chris began to instruct before he was cut off.
"I know, I know. Then my team wins if I'm not mistaken, yes?" Bowie asked with a bored tone and expression, looking at his nails.
"...Yes." Chris finished, clearly annoyed.
The next scene showed Bowie on the log in the same position Axel was. Chris started the timer and Molotov started running the log in circles, Bowie doing the same. As time went on, the Flamboyant young man's face changed as he narrowed his eyes and started to balance himself better. Six seconds, seven seconds, eight seconds, nine seconds…
Molotov lost his smile for the first time and started to show confusion. Bowie took note of his opponent's faltering confidence and decided to make a final move: He ran toward the bear and leaped off both feet. He brought one foot to Molotov's chest, causing the latter to stumble over and fall into the lake, where the piranhas jumped in and out of the water, presumably taking a bite out of their prey. The log stopped rolling as Bowie landed safely on the edge where his grizzly rival stood, arms in the air and smiling proudly.
"And that'll do it! Bowie completes his dare by Leshawna, knocking her out, and since she was the last Gopher remaining…" The Host paused briefly, "The Killer Bass have won!"
Cheers erupted from just off the ground next to the dock, where the other Killer Bass members stood with their heads and arms locked in a pillary, par Emma.
Leshawna folded her arms and showed anger in disappointment. "Dammit, I knew I should've just taken on that bear." she commented to herself.
"Killer Bass… as a bonus reward, you get to rock an awesome hot tub for the rest of the summer, waiting for you back at the cabins." announced Chris. "BONUS!"
The Bass cheered once again while the Host turned his attention to the Gophers, all of whom were lined up and locked in pillaries except Leshawna and Ella. "Screaming Gophers, what can I say? Stinks to be you right now. I'll see your sorry butts at the bonfire tonight."
The team in question groaned upon hearing this as their rival team continued to cheer. Ella ran up next to her team with a worried look.
"Oh no! Did we lose?" she asked.
"Yep!" Chris responded. "And where were you all this time?"
"Um.." Ella looked confused, "What do you mean, I was just letting those poor wild animals back into the wild."
The Host just looked shocked for a second. "I… whatever. We just borrowed them, we're not monsters or anything."
"Totally believe that." Noah responded from his pillary as he rolled his eyes. "Now, would you be gracious enough as to let us out of our restraints?"Chris rolled his eyes, sighed, and pulled out a small key from his pocket. The screen went to black as he was seen walking toward the campers who were locked in a pillary.
The scene opened up again to show all twenty-two campers in the main hall, seated and eating their dinner, courtesy of Chef… well, some of them, at least. The camera then zoomed in on the Screaming Gophers as one of their members started a conversation.
"Okay team." Axel stood up from her seat with her hands pressed against the table. "We gotta figure out who's the weakest link."
"Uhhhhh, why exactly?" asked Zee in a curious yet confused tone.
"Are you kidding me?" responded the Survivalist angrily, "Because someone has to be voted out, that's why exactly!" she raised a hand up, curled it into a fist, and slammed it on the table, causing the plate in front of her to shake and a bowl to lose a handful of the soup it contained. Brick, who was right beside her, flinched as soup landed on the lower end of his shirt.
"Ow!"
Rodney stood up and put his hands in front of him to gesture Axel to stop. "Woah woah, calm down. We can figure this out uh…" the Farmer stopped mid-sentence and started staring at her. A smile formed on his face as Axel's expression changed from angry to bewildered.
Jasmine also rose from her seat and put her hands on her hips as she put on a frown and spoke up. "Okay, that's enough team. I can't disagree with what she's saying, but we'd be better off not doing this in front of everyone else."
Anne Maria, who was sitting with her legs crossed and looking down as she polished her nails, also joined the talk. "Yeah, says the girl who got out first in the challenge today. There, we just found our weak link." she looked up and gave Jasmine a blank stare.
The Australian Adventurer gave her a glare back.
"Hey, you know that isn't fair. It could've been any of us who went and failed our challenge first." argued Trent, seated beside where Jasmine stood.
"Right, and I remember you chickened out on us when you got the simplest of tasks." commented Axel as she pointed a finger at the Jersey Girl.
"Like I said a bajillion times," Anne Maria retaliated as she put her hands on her hair, "I can't risk these looks for the show. Why don't ya take a step back and be understandin', kay? Kay."
She got up and walked away from Axel. As she was on her way out, she pulled out a spray can from her back pocket and started spraying her hair. The orange fumes that came out from the can covered not only the Jersey Girl's hairdo, but also the faces of Ella, Lauren, Owen, and Rodney, who all coughed in response.
"Hey!" Lauren shouted, raising a clenched fist in anger. "You should be grateful for me! I saved your life, literally, and you acted like it was nothing!" she finished with a growl.
Owen coughed once more. "Um, that's a bit of an exaggeration." he said shyly.
The Scary Girl turned her head away from where Anne Maria had left and faced Owen, and strangely enough, her body stood still in the opposite direction. She gave the boy a wide, creepy grin.
"Ahhh!" Owen panicked, putting his arms over his face.
Axel facepalmed as she mumbled, only within earshot of the person next to her. "I'm on a team of idiots."
Brick heard this and gave her a concerned glance.
/Confessional: Brick/
"I don't know what's going through that zombie girl's head, but it's not beneficial, that's for sure." stated Brick, sitting forward on the outhouse toilet. "She'd better get her emotions in check, or I might have to step up and lead the team." he paused and put a hand to his chin. "Not that anyone made her the leader to begin with." he then bent over, rested his arms on his knees, and sighed.

The next scene showed all eleven members of the Screaming Gophers at the campfire ceremony, where nighttime had risen and each player occupied a seat. In the front row from left to right were Brick, Zee, Anne Maria, Axel, and Ella. In the back row from left to right were Rodney, Trent, Owen, Jasmine, Lauren, and Leshawna.
The team's logo appeared at the top left briefly before Chris, who was standing to the right with a tray consisting of ten marshmallows, started speaking to the group.
"Screaming Gophers... at camp, marshmallows represent a tasty treat that you enjoy roasting by the fire." he gestured to the tray with one hand as some of the Gophers smiled.
"At this camp," The Host continued, "marshmallows represent life."
Owen put his hands to his cheeks and gave a dreamy look, his eyes almost glittering. Trent, who was right beside him, rolled his eyes.
"You've all cast your votes and made your decision. There are only ten marshmallows on this plate. When I call your name, come up and claim your marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately return to the dock of shame to catch the boat of losers." The camera moved over to show a red motorboat next to the dock, before reverting back to Chris as he pointed to the team and clarified the rules sternly. "That means you're out of the contest. And you can't come back. Ever."
"The first marshmallow goes to…
"Trent!"
"Zee!"
"Leshawna!"
"Rodney!"
"Lauren!"
"Owen!"
"Ella!"
"Brick!"
As each camper whose name was called got up and walked over to Chris to receive a marshmallow, fear grew in the remaining three players. A few moments passed before the next campers name was called.
"Jasmine!"
The girl sighed in relief as she stood up and took another soft, tasty treat off the plate. Only Anne Maria and Axel remained, the former looked worried and the latter showed her teeth with a serious expression.
"Campers, this is the final marshmallow of the evening…"
the atmosphere became tense as the two girls looked at the one remaining marshmallow on the plate, then back at Chris. A few moments passed by, and the Host pointed a finger in the air. This prompted Axel and Anne Maria to tense up even more as they lifted their arms slightly. Chris drew his finger toward The Survivalist, then the Jersey Girl, then back, then forth, before resting the finger on his chin. He soon called out one last name...
.
.
.
.
.
"Axel!"
The mentioned camper took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and got up. She did not dare to look at anyone else as she took a branch and stood next to the Host as he placed the symbol of safety through the branch. He then turned his attention to the lone seated camper.
"Can't say I'm shocked. You couldn't even think about losing a single nose hair for your team. Not cool."
He walked over to Anne Maria, who looked down and defeated. "The dock of shame is that way, ma'am." he directed the first eliminated camper toward the dock with one arm.
The Jersey Girl's expression did not change as she stood up and walked away.
The scene flashed to show her walking across the dock of shame with a hint of anger. She stopped moving just before she set foot on the boat and briefly looked back.
"Pff, whatevah, I don't need this stupid show anyway. What worth is there in doin' eight more weeks in this crap hole?"
The footage cut back to Chris standing in front of the ten remaining Gophers. "The rest of you, enjoy your marshmallows. You're all safe… for tonight!" he grinned deviously upon saying the last two words.
Another cut took the scene back to Anne Maria standing on the end of the dock as the boat of losers came and stopped in front of her, ready to take her away from Camp Wawanakwa.
/Confessional: Leshawna/
"Do I think the team made the right call tonight?" Leshawna asked herself as she sat down and crossed her legs. "Sure. But that doesn't mean all's well now. The Gopher's have to step it up, and if I have to raise my voice for us to work together, so be it."

The scene cut to the front of both cabins where in the center, a wooden hot tub sat. Sugar, Bowie, Raj, Noah, and Sam were relaxing in the warm, bubbly water of the tub, while Courtney stood beside it. Raj stood up and raised his glass.
"To the Killer Bass!"
His four teammates repeated his words and cheered as they each raised a hand up, the Gamer holding a gamepad. Sadie stood in front of the tub and began to dance whilst chanting her team's name.
"Kill-er Bass! Kill-er Bass! Kill-er Bass!"
She was soon joined by Courtney and Dakota to her left and right respectively, while the Screaming Gophers, who looked defeated to an extent, strolled past them in a single file line.
Axel, Brick, Rodney, Leshawna, Owen… the sixth camper however, stopped in her tracks and walked in the opposite direction of the cabins. This was Jasmine. Trent also stopped among the line of Gophers and turned to notice his teammate straying from the path. The next second, he also abandoned the line and followed her. Zee, Ella, and Lauren seemingly stayed on the path behind him before the confessional was shown once more.
/Confessional: Trent/
"I remembered Jasmine telling me she sleeps in the woods at night," Trent told the confessional camera as he threw his arms up, slight worry on his face, "And I don't mean to pester her for an explanation, but how could anyone sleep like that?"
/
The camera was now on Trent, who lost sight of his teammate, walking through the woods. He put his hands together and turned his head back and forth nervously. An owl hooted in the distance.
"Um, Jasmine? Are you there?" hollered Trent.
Another owl hoot rang out, but besides that, nothing.
The next second, a tall, thin shadow popped out from behind him. Trent slowly but warily turned around and let out a yelp, before a look of realisation hit him and he sighed in relief.
"Sup, brah?" the shadow disappeared and it was revealed to be Zee, who was oblivious to the fact that they had both walked away from the cabins.
"Zee?" The Musician responded in confusion, "What are you doing out here?"
"I could ask you the same th-"
The boy was cut off by a raccoon jumping onto the top of his head, seemingly out of nowhere. He looked up and put a hand above his head to feel what had just touched him. As soon as it saw one of Zee's fingers, it showed its teeth and bit him.
"AHHHHHHH GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!!"
Zee frantically ran circles around his teammate as he tried to shake the raccoon off. The following second, a snapping turtle hopped out from the woods and bit Trent's leg, causing him to yelp.
Another camera cut showed an army of about ten more snapping turtles slowly but surely charging toward the two boys while they kept screaming.
"HEEEEEeeeeeeeeeelp…"
Their voices faded out as the screen went black, leaving the outcome of their apparent ambush on a cliffhanger.

Author's note
What happens to them? You'll have to find out next time… hopefully soon enough.
So yeah, I will be honest: I struggled a lot and went back and edited a lot of parts here, mainly because there's so much I wanted to realistically replicate from the original episode, while still adding new segments that wouldn't normally fit into an episode like this (Such as the cliffhanger and Ella running off). Guess there's a lot of pacing that I need to work on in the future, heh...
But at the end of the day, I'm glad I managed to get this done.
As far as the elimination goes… it was pretty obvious. Anne Maria just wasn't cut out for the competition and had first boot written all over her considering the nature of the challenge. Sorry to all Anne Maria fans.
With all that said, I hope you're excited to see what chapter 3 has to offer and until next time… peace!
