Chapter 13: Reunited

Author's note: sorry it's short! I just wanted to get something out here to hopefully kick my writers block.

Sky's Point of View

Momma Clearwater settled the 3 travelers around the dining room table and picked up the phone as she headed to the kitchen.

"Hi Sam, you and my children need to get here immediately." She didn't give him an opportunity to say a word before she hung up and started pulling food out of the refrigerator. "Is turkey sandwiches alright for everyone? And some homemade soup?"

Will smiled up at her. "I think I speak for all of us when I say we will take whatever you are willing to part with." Sky was too nervous and fidgety to respond, eyes flicking to the doorway.

Sue nodded and got to work preparing the food. "Will, I would be more than happy to get you a room to stay with one of our tribe members so you can stay and rest for a few days if you would like?"

"Oh, that would be much appreciated, ma'am. It's been a long journey."

Placing the food in front of Will, Nina and Sky, she nudged the plate of food for Sky closer. "Please try to eat, sweet girl. It's your favorite soup." Sky only seemed to blink a couple of times before slowly reaching for the spoon.

Once she took a single bite, her hunger took over and she ate as much as her stomach would allow before she even knew it. Nina took her queue from Sky and followed soon behind her.

Sue tried and failed to start a conversation with Sky, afraid that if she said the wrong thing, the girl in front of her would disappear. Not even sure she truly believed that Sky was actually in front of her. Will, showing himself quickly as a gentleman engaged her with stories from his last minute road trip and she let him know where he could stay for a few days, that Jared had an extra room and wouldn't mind hosting him and that she would have him come over soon to guide Will that way.

Sky could feel it deep in her chest when Seth started approaching the house. Clearing her throat she stood up and made her way to the backyard on instinct alone. Will, Nina and Sue moved onto the patio, far enough to give some semblance of privacy, but none willing to let Sky out of their eyesight.

Loud noises broke through the branches of nearby trees before a quieter rustling took place. Sky closed her eyes, knowing it was Seth, but afraid to see his reaction to her. Knowing she changed more than he could ever realize both inside and out.

There were two gasps followed by two pairs of footsteps approaching her. She couldn't help the way her body tensed up, even knowing that it was her Sethie and Lee Lee.

"Cheshire..." Seth's voice was the same one she had heard over and over in her dreams, the one she never thought she would hear in person again. She would never forget, for as long as she might live, the way his voice broke when he said her name.

Seth's Point of View

Seth sunk to his knees, taking in her broken form in person for the first time since the night she was ripped from him. The way her body tensed, waiting for the pain she had been given time and time again even though she was finally safe. It took everything in him not to run to her and wrap her in his arms so he would never have to let go again. He felt his sister put a hand on his shoulder.

"Baby girl, we are here when you are ready. It's... it's your move. Not until you are ready." Leah's voice was softer than anyone had probably ever heard before. She joined Seth on her knees as they waited. Seth could feel the presence of his Alpha at the edge of the group and of the pack, not there in the backyard, but still there somewhere, giving him and Leah support.

They could hear Sky swallow thanks to their wolfy magic, and she opened her eyes, looking straight at the ground. Tears welled in her eyes as she brought her gaze to them. They traveled up Leah first, assessing, checking to make sure Leah was okay in true Sky fashion. When she got what she needed out of her assessment, she turned and locked eyes with Seth.

From everything Seth had heard of imprinting, he knew what was happening immediately. He had already felt that Sky was the gravity holding him to Earth, but now, he felt everything alter and shift. It wasn't that she was gravity, it was that they were orbiting each other in the center of the universe. He swore he could see lines connecting him to Sky, and them both to Leah. He even saw a fainter line traveling behind Sky, but didn't have the ability to take anything else in outside of the floodgates falling for him and Sky, and her lifting her arms beckoning Leah and Seth in closer for a hug.

There wasn't even a second of hesitation before they ran to her and the two wolves enveloped her in their arms as they sank to the grass. Seth couldn't stop himself from repeating over and over "You're safe, you're safe, you're safe."

It could gave been minutes or hours, but soon they felt their mother join in the hug, tears falling down her face again. "My family, together again at last."

Sky hiccuped and wiped her nose with her sleeve as she looked up at the deck. She motioned to a young girl standing there arms wrapped around herself, to come forward. "This is Nina, we are a package deal if you will have us..."

Leah scoffed with not an ounce of anger. "You are both a part of this tribe and we will protect you until our last breath." Nina, who had been slowly approaching paused, unsure of how she fit in here. Leah held out one hand, inviting her into the hug and the family. Nina's shoulders sagged in relief as she reached out for the older girls hands and let herself be pulled into the middle of the group alongside Sky.

Seth knew he could stay in this moment forever, the only thing that pulled him out of it was the sound of retreating footsteps on the porch.

He wasn't the only one to notice as Leah's voice rang out again. "Hey you! You're the one who got her back to us safely?"

The tall figure turned towards the group, a soft smile on his face as he looked at Sky and Nina. "I didn't mean to intrude on this moment, I just needed to make sure the girls were safe. I couldn't leave her until I knew. I can wait out on the front porch for Jared."

As Will lifted his gaze to meet Leah's as he gestured around the side of the house, Seth felt something click inside of him, like the final piece of the puzzle falling into place. It was then he knew, this was their fourth. This was the one who the spirits brought in when the need and time were right.

Feeling Leah's arm slacken, he looked up and saw her shocked look and starry eyes. He knew, the spirits had made their intentions clear, and he was now looking at her imprint. He grabbed Sky's hand, unwilling to lose contact and stretched a hand toward the man who had no clue what he had just gotten himself wrapped in, "Come by the house again tomorrow so we can thank you properly, yeah?"

Will's smile stretched wide as his eyes slid from Leah to Nina to Sky and then back to Leah, "I'd like that, not for the thanks, but because you seem like the type of people I would love to get to know."

As Will shook Seth's hand, Seth laughed. "Man, you have no idea how right you are."
