Hello everyone I'm back once again to bring you a special chapter of my story; if you are enjoying it please keep on supporting me and my other stories. This is going to be a short story so you can expect a longer chapter later; now with nothing else to say lets begin.
Sabaku no Kitsune (Omake): Shino's story
Root prison at night : With Shino and the other inmates
Shino was in his cell with his 5 cellmates huddling together and conversing about current events.
"I heard that it was a combined force of Kiri and Suna that took out Oto, Taki and Konoha" a prisoner named Haru said "they said that they lost all of their ninja; dead, wounded and captured".
"Maybe so but Danzo can just make more" said and prisoner named Kaoru "they took my boy away from our shop and locked me up; I hear that they been using those Yamanaka's to implant them with ninja training".
"Bull shit" another named Aoi said.
"It's true, they implanted the training and get them fit enough to send out to battle" Kaoru said "they give them the basics and send them off to be battle fodder".
"That does not surprise me" Shino said speaking up "the academy was no different; non-clan children were trained far below average of what us clan members were". "Us from shinobi clans had extra training repairing us for real battle" Shino said "and they wonder why genin had such high casualty rates".
"It wasn't the same as when I was in the shinobi corps" a older inmate named Tomoki said; Tomoki was from the Sarutobi clan and was sent there after helping several people from his clan escape during the coup "when I was a genin I was sent off to the second shinobi war with all kinds of skills; when I saw my friends kids graduate and saw their skills I was appalled". "How the hell is knowing three basic Jutsu, basic taijutsu and weaponry skills going to help in war" Tomoki asked.
"That's what i wondered" Shino said "Aoi, did you get more shivs"; Aoi nodded as he turned around and reached under his bed. Aoi lifted a loose board and pulled out two shivs.
"One for me and one for Haru" Aoi said "along with yours and Tomoki's we have five; I just need to get one for Kaoru, I have a order from Sutomo in the work shop".
"Thanks man I appreciate it" Kaoru said with a smile; just then a door opened up and everyone turned "guard, get in your bunks".
Shino and the others all ran to their bare wood bunks and lied down as a guard passed by 'just have to wait until he leaves; then we can get back to talking' he thought.
2 days later; at night: With Kaoru
Kaoru with his shiv was walking through the halls of the prison trying to not wake any of the prisoners; Kaoru was making his way to the wardens office in order to tell him about Shino and the others.
As he rounded a corner there was someone up ahead leaning on the wall "Evening Kaoru… going somewhere" he asked and Kaoru nodded.
"Yeah… going to the nurse; I have a bad infection in my tooth" Kaoru said and Shino sighed as he adjusted his sun glasses.
"You're going to the warden to snitch" Shino said coolly and Kaoru gulped "I knew about the last group you got killed; don't even lie".
"Fuck you; I'm doing this for my boy" Kaoru said as he pulled out his shiv "I won't let you stop me".
Shino pulled out his shiv and got into his stance "I understand your reasoning; but I cannot let you go".
Shino charged at Kaoru and Kaoru slashed at Shino; Shino ducked under the blade of the untrained Kaoru and buried his shiv into his friends chest. Kaoru coughed up blood and fell to the ground "d-damn" Kaoru said as he looked at the blade in his chest.
"I'm sorry" Shino said as he kneeled down "any last words".
"T-tell Nogi… I'm sorry" Kaoru said before falling dead; Shino sighed as he pulled out his shiv and grabbed Kaoru's and began to sneak back to his cell. Shino snuck around for a few minutes until he got to his cell; Shino lifted a loose floor board and pulled it out. Shino squeezed through the gap and put the board back.
Shino saw that Tomoki, Haru and Aoi were awake with sad looks on their faces "he's dead" Shino said simply as he pulled out the shivs.
Tomoki jumped down and grabbed the shivs "Haru, get the shit bucket and the bleach" he said and Haru nodded. Haru jumped down and grabbed the items and Tomoki began to clean the weapons "good job son" he said and Shino nodded.
"It was painful… but i got it done" Shino said as he walked over to his bunk and lied down 'I'm sorry Kaoru; I'll find your son and tell him'. 'I don't go back on my word… that's Naruto's ninja way' Shino thought as he remembered his deceased comrade 'Naruto, I'm glad you're not alive to see this'. Shino turned to his side and tried to get some sleep as his cellmates bleached and cleaned the weapons.
