Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 44
Naruto vs Neji
Naruto held both of his small fans as he looked at Neji who was in his taijutsu stance and had his Byakugan activated; Naruto was gauging what Neji was going to do based on his movements.
Naruto observed everything about Neji, from his cloths to his stance; Naruto could only really see one thing of interest, the metal rings on his fingers.
'Ok then; I'll take the lead' Naruto thought; Naruto brought back both of fans and swung them forwards "Wind Sickle Jutsu". Naruto fired two wind blades at Neji and Neji focused his chakra in his right hand.
"Eight Trigrams Vaccum Palm" Neji shouted and he stepped and thrusted his hand out like a juken strike; Neji unleashed a wind jutsu from his hand and both his and Naruto's jutsu canceled each other out. "Hmph… seems like our wind jutsu is on equal grounds" Neji said with a smirk "what you going to do now failure".
Naruto narrowed his eyes and spoke "oh, you know… the usual" Naruto said as he put up his fans and made a hand sign "Shadow clone Jutsu". Naruto created 20 shadow clones that all opened their small fans and began to surround Neji "Lets see you take all of us on" he shouted.
A Naruto clone to Neji's left fired 2 wind sickles towards Neji but Neji with the use of his Byakugan saw the chakra in the air and dodged the wind blades. Neji retaliated by firing a Vacuum palm towards the clone and the clone was hit and dispelled; from his right 3 more clones all launched several wind sickles and Neji began to spin around.
'Eight Trigram Palm Rotation' Neji began to spin around making a chakra dome around him protecting him from the wind jutsu; upon slowing down Neji took out several shuriken and threw them towards the clones hitting and dispelling them.
2 cloned came from both of Neji's sides with kunai in their hands and Neji in a swift movement reached out and grabbed both of their arms; Neji spun around dragging the clones together and making them stab each other.
Both clones dispelled and Neji was about to turn around when with his Byakugan he saw the original Naruto grab his larger fan.
Naruto opened his fan and brought it back "Wind Scythe Jutsu" Naruto shouted as he launched a wind jutsu towards Neji; Neji jumped up and began to spin doing another Eight trigrams Palm Rotation in mid air. Neji's rotation was hit by the wind jutsu and he was pushed towards the wall.
Neji's rotation died down along with the wind jutsu and Neji used the walk on walls technique to stand on the concrete wall looking down on Naruto.
"How pitiful" Neji said "you wind jutsu is as useless against me as Hinata is to the Hyuga clan; what are you going to do now clown"; Naruto growled as he put up his fan, cracked his neck and knuckles.
"Guess I'm gonna have to give you an old fashion ass whoopin'" Naruto said repeating a phrase he heard from Sango "lets go bitch".
Neji scowled as he looked down at Naruto for insulting him "I'm going to enjoy wiping that smirk off your face peasant" Neji said as he jumped down to fight Naruto and his remaining clones.
With Obito
Obito was surrounded by Neji's 10 Hyuga guards as they all were in taijutsu stances and had their Byakugan activated; Obito stood in the middle of them with his single sharingan glowing as he scanned them.
Obito took out a kunai and looked around "ok then; anyone wants to throw the first punch, feel free" he said.
As soon as he said that a single enemy charged at him his hands blazing with chakra; the Hyuga launched an attack at Obito sending a juken strike to his chest. Obito used his Kamui to phase the attack through and let the Hyuga slip through him; when the Hyuga was on the other side Obito spun around and attempted to stab the Hyuga in the back of the neck.
The Hyuga seeing this with his Byakugan ducked under the blade and sent a kick towards Obito; the kick hit Obito in the gut knocking him back surprising him. 2 more Hyuga rushed in from behind Obito and attacked him; Obito spun around and used his Kamui to phase through the first strike.
The first Hyuga sent a juken strike towards Obito and it phased through him as Obito took a step back; a few seconds later the second Hyuga sent a Juken strike at Obito and he had to use his arm to block the strike.
Obito slashed at the second Hyuga with his kunai and the Hyuga ducked back in time to avoid the kunai; the first Hyuga came back at tried to attack Obito from behind. The Hyuga sent a juken strike aimed towards Obito's kidney and was about to hit until Obito did something he did not expect.
Obito used his Kamui and threw his kunai towards himself; the kunai phased through him and hit the Hyuga in the eye socket piercing his brain and killing him. The second Hyuga was caught off guard by this as Obito threw a punch towards the Hyuga; the Hyuga raised his hand in defense but Obito's fist phased through his arm.
Obito canceled his Kamui and punched the Hyuga in the face stunning him; using the same hand Obito grabbed the Hyuga by the chin and spun around him before pulling his arm. Obito pulled the Hyuga's chin with enough force to snap his neck killing him.
Obit got back into a defensive stance as the 8 other Hyuga looked at him; Obito realized what they were doing as he readied himself. 'They were probing me; they wanted to see what my Kamui could do' Obito thought 'now they know my Kamui only lasts for a few seconds'.
"Just as Commander Uchiha said; his phasing ability lasts only a few seconds" one of the Hyuga said "attack him in sequence; don't give him any room to breath". As soon as he said that the Hyuga charged Obito and Obito got into a stance.
'Itachi is responsible for training these guys as well; why am i not surprised' Obito thought as the Hyuga charged in.
Temari vs Shikamaru
Shikamaru using his shadow to control the bodies of Temari's four dead teammates; Shikamaru sent two of them towards Temari and Temari brought back her fan.
"Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari swung her fan and unleashed a wind jutsu towards the 2 oncoming corpses; the wind jutsu blew them away and continued as it headed towards Shikamaru.
Shikamaru went through hand signs and slammed his hands on the ground "Earth Style: Mud Wall"; Shikamaru created a mud wall in front of him and it protected him from the wind jutsu. Temari cursed as she looked at the 2 broken bodies of her dead comrades on the ground.
Temari then saw Shikamaru's shadow creep towards the corpses and wrap themselves around them; Shikamaru appeared from behind the mud wall and launched both corpses at Temari at great speed.
Temari not having time to launch another wind jutsu closed her fan and swung it like a bat towards the first corpse; Temari knocked the corpse away but the second corpse hit her arms knocking the fan from her hands.
'I got her away from her main weapon' Shikamaru thought as he charged towards Temari with the 2 other corpses 'now she's at a disadvantage.
Temari seeing Shikamaru coming towards her ran off to the side while reaching into her weapons pouch; Temari pulled out a kunai with an explosive tag and threw it at one of the corpses.
The Kunai hit and Shikamaru had to jump out of the way as the tag exploded and showered him in blood and gore; Shikamaru got back up wiping off some of the guts from his face only to see Temari in front of him.
"Take this bastard" Temari shouted as she punched Shikamaru across the face making him lose focus as dropping the other corpse; Temari followed up with a second punch to the face making him spit up blood. Temari then spun around and sent a round house kick to his ribs sending him skidding across the ground.
Shikamaru was dazed for a few seconds and this gave Temari enough time to go and retrieve her fan and open it; Shikamaru now recovered went wide eyed as Temari swung her fan.
"Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari shouted as she swung her fan and launched a wind jutsu; Shikamaru was hit by the wind jutsu and sent flying into a tree. Shikamaru hit the tree hard and immediately went behind it as the winds continued to blow.
'Well that didn't go as planned' Shikamaru thought as he closed his eyes got into his thinking pose 'what else can I do'; Shikamaru thought for a few seconds until he opened his eyes. 'Ok that might work' Shikamaru thought as he stood up as the wind jutsu died down 'if not I'll have to make a tactical retreat'.
Near the Armory: With Katsu
Katsu with a large group of spring ninja were fighting both in and around the armory; Katsu was heading to the west side of the armory because that was the part where the stiffest resistance was.
As Katsu rounded the corner she saw why; there was a Konoha ninja in the air spinning around with 2 scrolls open and spiraling around her. Katsu went through hand signs until she stopped 'Ice Style: Ice Sparrows'.
Tenten was in the air and using her 'Twin Rising Dragons' technique as she bombarded the enemy down below with volley after volley of kunai and shuriken. As Tenten took five more kunai and just as she turned around she saw several ice sparrows coming towards her; Tenten threw the kunai at the ice sparrows destroying them.
Tenten fell back to the ground and looked at Katsu 'she's looks like the commander of these ninja' Tenten thought as she observed Katsu's armor which was slightly more advanced than the average snow ninja.
Tenten rolled up both of her scrolls and pulled out another one and opened it; upon opening it a puff of smoke appeared and a naginata spear appeared in her hands. "Are you the commander of these ninja" Tenten asked and Katsu nodded.
"Yeah, and I see you killed a lot of them" Katsu said with a scowl as she formed ice claws on her hands "for that you're gonna pay". Katsu charged towards Tenten closing the distance quickly and Tenten waited for her to get in range.
Tenten sent a stab towards Katsu with the spear and Katsu ducked to the right appearing on Tenten's left side; Tenten side stepped to her right bring her naginata around in a slash. Katsu raised up her ice claw and blocked the blade which made it bounce off with a loud clang; Katsu sent a slash with her claw and Tenten put the spear in front of her to protect herself.
Katsu's claw sliced through Tenten's spear and cut her across the chest ripping open her flak jacket but not drawing any blood; Tenten jumped back and opened her scroll once more and a puff of smoke appeared.
Tenten summoned out a Kusarigama (a Kama and chain with a weighted ball at the end) and looked at Katsu; Tenten began to spin the weighted ball above her head as she looked at Katsu.
"Fuck me" Katsu said as she was now more annoyed than concerned as she got ready to fight the weapons user again.
With Obito
Obito was fighting the eight remaining Hyuga and was holding his own; a Hyuga came at Obito from the front and sent a flurry of juken strikes towards Obito. Obito began to dodge the strikes until he found an opening; Obito parried a strike and delivered a powerful kick to the mans chest sending him flying into another Hyuga.
Obito seeing the 2 men collide quickly went through hand signs 'Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu'; Obito launched a fire ball at the 2 men which hit setting both of them on fire as they began to spin and dance around trying to put out the flames.
Obito heard foot steps behind him and turned around and saw a Hyuga throwing another juken strike; Obito began to back up and used his Kamui to phase through the first few strikes but when it wore off he was hit by a strike.
Obito felt the pain of the strike as he was hit on his lower left side and immediately felt a burning sensation; Obito swatted the hand away before retaliating with a punch to the face to the Hyuga.
Obito followed up by throwing another punch to the Hyuga this time aiming for the throat; Obito punched the Hyuga in the wind pipe breaking it and cutting off his air supply. The Hyuga grabbed his throat as he began to panic before Obito kicked him away from him.
Obito saw another 2 Hyuga in front of him charging towards him and both shouted "Eight Trigrams Vacuum palm"; one of the Hyuga launched a wind jutsu towards Obito who used his Kamui to phase through it.
However the other Hyuga waited a few seconds after to launch his and when Obito's jutsu wore off he was sent flying back into a wall; Obito shook his head as he got back up and ran forward while going through hand signs.
'Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu' Obito jumped into the air and fired a dozen small fire balls towards the 5 remaining Hyuga. 2 of the Hyuga were hit by the fireballs and killed either by the fire or by the impact while the other 3 started spinning using the 'Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation'.
Obito landed and took out a kunai and charged the 3 remaining Hyuga who charged at him as well; the first Hyuga jumped up a sent a flying kick towards Obito and Obito used his Kamui ability to let the Hyuga pass through.
The second Hyuga sent a juken strike towards Obito and Obito parried the attack and sent a stab towards the Hyuga; Obito stabbed the Hyuga in the neck severing his arteries. Obito pulled out the kunai and threw it towards the third Hyuga; the Hyuga dodged the kunai and continued towards Obito.
Obito threw several punches and kicks at the third Hyuga and the Hyuga began to dodge; the Hyuga grabbed onto Obito's arm and sent a Juken strike towards his arm. Obito used Kamui to phase through the attack and get behind the Hyuga; and put him in a choke hold and began to choke him.
The Hyuga began to struggle and elbowed Obito in the gut trying to break free; Obito grit his teeth and used all his might to pull back. Obito broke The Hyuga's neck and threw him to the ground as he looked towards the last Hyuga who was in a strange stance.
"Eight Trigrams… two palms" he shouted as he lunged towards Obito; Obito used his Kamui to phase though the first two strikes "four palms"; Obito was able to phase through the next four strikes but his Kamui was wearing off. "Eight palms, sixteen palms" the Hyuga shouted as he continued to throw strikes and Obito had to dodge; Obito dodged the majority of the strikes but still got hit "thirty two palms".
Obito was hit by several more strikes and felt his chakra points shut down "Eight trigram sixty four palms" the Hyuga shouted as he launched a final attack that hit Obito and sent him flying backwards.
Obito skidded backwards hitting a wall as the Hyuga began to walk forward "you did come damage" he said as he closed the distance "but this is where it ends for you". The Hyuga raised his hand and was about to attack when Obito began to chuckle.
"You dumbass" Obito said spitting up a little blood "a fight isn't over… until it's over" Obito pointed his right hand towards the Hyuga who was a few feet away. Obito's arm shot out and formed into what looked like tree branches making the Hyuga go wide eyed; the branches stabbed into him killing him instantly.
Obito groaned as he broke off his artificial arm and the Hyuga fell to the ground "shit; I haven't done that since…" Obito had a flashback of when he saw Kakashi kill Rin and how he massacred the Kiri anbu who were chasing them "fuck". Obito sat on the ground as his arm reformed while remembering the worst day of his life; Obito pushed it out of his mind as he got back up and began to walk away.
"Lets see how Naruto is doing" Obito said as he walked away.
With Temari
Temari was looking at where Shikamaru was taking cover and readied her fan for another wind jutsu "Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari shouted as she swung her fan towards Shikamaru. The Wind Jutsu cut the tree's and the surrounding foliage as the Shikamaru stayed hidden behind the tree.
As the Wind Jutsu died down Temari held her fan waiting for Shikamaru to appear so she could attack him; after waiting for a few minutes Shikamaru did not appear and she became even more alert.
Suddenly from under her feet Temari felt a rumbling and she looked down to see the earth rising; a kunai shot out of the ground with a hand holding it and went up towards Temari's face.
Temari moved her head back and jumped backwards just as Shikamaru shot out of the ground; Shikamaru stood in front of Temari and looked at her. Shikamaru used the 'Earth Military Movement technique', a academy level Earth Jutsu from Iwa to go under the earth to ambush Temari and close the distance.
Shikamaru got onto one knee and made a hand sign "Shadow Possession Jutsu" he said as she shadow began to elongate and rush towards Temari. Temari seeing how she was so clone began to hop back at a fast pace; when she was at 50 yards she thought she was safe until she jumped over one of the dead bodies and Shikamaru's shadow combined and kept on stretching.
"Shit" Temari shouted as she jumped back even more 'he's using anchors for his shadow'; Temari was in mid air as the shadow was now directly underneath her. Shikamaru smirked as he thought he finally got her.
'Checkmate' Shikamaru thought but Temari opened her fan and charged her chakra.
"Raaah" Temari shouted as she swung her fan blowing herself higher into the air and out of range of Shikamaru's shadow. Temari spun around in mid air and swing her fan "Wind Scythe Jutsu" she shouted as she launched a wind jutsu towards Shikamaru.
Shikamaru was hit by the jutsu and as a cloud of dust kicked up over the area when it cleared Shikamaru looked up and saw Temari coming down on him with her fan closed.
"It's over you dick" Temari shouted as she brought down her fan and the last thing Shikamaru saw was Temari's fan in his face before everything went dark.
With Katsu
Tenten swung the weighted ball at the end of her chain towards Katsu and Katsu raised her ice claw to defend herself; her claw caught the chain but the ball swung around and hit Katsu on the side of the head.
"Ow what the fuck" Katsu shouted as she grabbed the chain and pulled it tight "that hurt you bitch"; Katsu had a large bump on the side of her head as she looked at Tenten. Katsu used her other claw to cut the chain and making Tenten's weapon less effective.
Katsu began to go through hand signs before slamming her hands onto the ground "Ice Style: Ice Spikes"; Ice spikes began to shoot out of the ground and head to Tenten at a fast speed and Tenten rushed to defend herself.
Tenten held the Kama between her teeth as she took out another scroll and opened it facing the ice spikes; a puff of smoke appeared and a giant ball of paper bombs and kunai shot out and towards the ice spikes.
The ball exploded sending kunai and ice shards everywhere and Katsu had to dodge; a single kunai grazed her side drawing blood but not causing serious damage. Tenten grabbed her Kama and took out a Kunai and charged towards Katsu.
Tenten closed the distance as she began to send slashed and stabs towards Katsu who began to dodge and block the attacks; Tenten swung her Kama at Katsu but Katsu reacted first.
Katsu swung her claws and sliced through both the weapon and Tenten's arm; Tenten screamed as her right hand fell to the ground. Katsu spun around and kicked the kunai out of her hand before sweep kicking Tenten sending her to the ground.
Tenten looked up as Katsu stood over her in fear as she fled onto her bleeding limb; Katsu dispelled her ice claws and balled up her fist. With one solid punch Katsu knocked out Tenten before grabbing her arm and putting her hand over where she cut Tenten; Tenten's arm was severed mid forearm and bleeding fast.
Katsu froze where the cut was stopping the bleeding and saving Tenten's life "You're lucky we need as much information as we can get" she said "otherwise I would've killed you". Katsu stood up as 2 spring ninja ran over "Take her into our custody and get her medical attention" she ordered "I'm going to help take the armory".
"Yes mam" the ninja said as they picked up Tenten and ran off; Katsu turned around and ran inside the armory where the remaining enemy ninja were still fighting.
With Naruto
Neji spun around striking a clone twice in the chest dispelling it and effectively destroying the last of Naruto's clones; Naruto seeing this cursed in his mind as he rushed over and attacked Neji.
Naruto threw several punches and kickes towards Neji who dodged the attacks effortlessly; Naruto threw a punch and Neji avoided the attack and countered aiming a attack at his chest.
Naruto jumped back avoiding the attack and landing a few yards away; Neji smirked as he focused the chakra in his hands. Chakra began to form onto his hands and became visible to Naruto; the chakra focused around the rings Neji had and they began to take shape.
The chakra formed into sparrow heads and a few seconds later they began to morph again; the sparrow heads formed into falcon heads and Neji deepened his stance.
'Twin Falcon Fists' Neji rushed forward closing the distance between him and Naruto in a second; Neji sent the first falcon fist into Naruto's gut hitting him hard and raising him into the air. Neji then sent the second fist towards Naruto and hit him again in the gut making him fly off and land on the ground hard; Naruto coughed up blood as he felt like he had internal bleeding.
Neji stood there with an arrogant smirk "Do you see now Naruto" Neji said "your last victory was due to luck and that damn demon sealed in you; your skills are pitiful, your taijutsu is sub par and your jutsu is amateurish at best". "You.Are.A. Failure" Neji said; Naruto coughed up blood as he stood to his feet and looked at Neji.
"Is that so Neji" Naruto said "well you only became the way you are by turning your back on those you used to call friends"; Neji scowled at this and Naruto continued. "I am a failure; I killed Sasuke, deserted my village and hid for over three years" Naruto said "but even with all than… you are lower than me; so if I'm a failure, your a disgrace".
Neji felt his anger rise at this and he formed another 'twin falcon fists' and looked at Naruto "I don't care what Lord Danzo said; you die here and now".
Naruto spat some blood and made a hand sign and created 2 shadow clones "whatever you say"; both of the shadow clones began to make rasengan in both of Naruto's hands until they were completely formed.
Naruto and Neji both charged at each other and launched their jutsu at each other; Naruto's rasengan and Neji's twin falcon fist collided and began to grind against each other for dominance. Chakra began to shoot of in either direction cutting the both of them as they fought for dominance.
After a few seconds Naruto's rasengan won out knocking Neji back and off balance as Naruto came in with his other rasengan "take this; Rasengan"; Naruto shoved the rasengan into Neji's gut scoring a direct hit.
Neji was sent flying across the room and into a concrete pillar cracking it upon impact; Neji fell to the ground as he looked down to his stomach and saw a spiral burn on it. Naruto walked over and stood above Neji looking down on him.
"Neji… wanna hear something that's gonna piss you off" Naruto said and Neji looked at him; Naruto focused his chakra and activated his 'Kurama mode' making Neji go wide eyed. "You lost to me at my weakest form" Naruto said "I didn't use the Kyuubi's chakra, Toad Sage mode or my nine tails chakra mode". Naruto cut off his Kurama mode and continued "your best… couldn't beat my worst" he said; Neji opened his mouth and began to speak but before he could Naruto punched him across the face knocking him out "shut the fuck up".
As soon as Naruto said that Obito walked back in and looked at Naruto; Obito walked over and stood next to Naruto and saw he was bruised and had blood come in from his mouth.
"You ok" Obito asked.
"I think I have internal bleeding and a few cracked ribs" Naruto said with a bloody smile "how about you".
"Some of my chakra points are sealed and I maybe have a concussion" Obito said with a smile.
Naruto and Obito stood there until they heard a shout "Naruto, Pa" both of them turned and saw Kurumi run over covered in blood and with her armor damaged "we did it, we won".
Naruto smiled at this and spoke "we won" he said.
A few minutes later
Naruto, Obito and Kurumi all walked to the middle of the village where they saw Tsunade, Kakashi, Sakura, Katsu and Yugito.
"Naruto; thank god" Sakura shouted as she ran over and gave him a hug.
"Ow, ow Sakura I'm hurt" Naruto said and Sakura let go.
"Sorry, sorry" Sakura said apologizing.
Tsunade walked over and spoke "great to see you brat" Tsunade said before looking at his group "hey where's Temari; she's not with you". Naruto looked confused at this.
"Huh, Temari was at the academy remember" Naruto said.
"No…" Katsu said "after I was done at the armory I went over to the academy and she wasn't there". "I thought she went over to you" Katsu said; suddenly everyone went wide eyed and Naruto began to look around in a panic.
"TEMARI" Naruto shouted at the top of his lungs; Tsunade now alarmed looked to Kakashi.
"Kakashi, form a team and go find Temari" Tsunade said and Kakashi nodded.
"Yes Lady Tsunade" Kakashi said as he ran off.
"Everyone look around for her" Tsunade said and everyone scattered and began to scour the village.
Naruto began to run back towards the academy with Obito and Kurumi in tow 'Temari, Temari, oh god, oh god' Naruto thought in a panic as he rushed to the other side of the village.
With Temari
Temari was laid on the ground unconscious and bound in ninja wire as Shikamaru stood over her; Shikamaru looked down at the unconscious sand Kunoichi and sighed.
'What a drag' Shikamaru thought.
Flashback
Temari slammed her fan into Shikamaru expecting to see his brains be splattered all over the ground; however she was merely greeted by a puff of smoke and she went wide eyed.
' A Shadow clone' Temari thought; Temari began to spin around but was suddenly caught and froze.
"Shadow possession complete" Shikamaru said as she stood by another hole in the ground; Shikamaru used 2 shadow clones. One to fight Temari and one to make her believe he was beaten; meanwhile he waited inside the hole of the second clone until she was distracted enough for him to capture her.
Shikamaru looked at the frightened Temari and spoke "Sorry about this Temari" he said "Shadow Strangulation jutsu"; a shadowy hand began to crawl up Temari and reached her throat.
Temari began to be choked by the shadow hand and she began to speak "Sh-Shikamaru" Temari choked out as she began to black out "s-stop, s-stop, p-ple…" Temari tried to speak but the lack of blood and oxygen to her head began to get to much for her. Temari passed out and Shikamaru was contemplating killing her.
However he decided against it and let her fall to the ground unconscious; Shikamaru walked over while taking out some ninja wire and began to tie her up.
Flashback ends
Shikamaru was so distracted by Temari he barely heard the sound of rustling behind him; he turned around and saw some root ninja "commander Nara, we found you" he said. "Sir, Taki has been taken over; all remains forces are escaping, should we regroup for a counter attack".
Shikamaru shook his head "No, we are out manned and out supplied" he said "we'll retreat to out northern outpost and contact Danzo". The ninja nodded and looked at Temari.
"And what of her" the ninja asked and Shikamaru spoke.
"We take her with us" Shikamaru said "she's going to be very useful to us".
