It has been 16 years since the first Makino invasion, and the TS-12 incident. Since then, N-Tek created a defense grid of transmitters across the globe that form a defense shield around the entire planet that prevents the Makino forces from attacking again. The younger son of Molly and Jim McGrath named Maxwell McGrath, has grown up with no knowledge of his father's Tachyon heritage, and his twin brother Silas, who had presumably died in his father's experiment.

And in that time, Miles Dredd's right hand Jason Naught, would not only search to find a suitable energy source to keep his master alive, but also per Dredd's orders, attempt to use the few Ultralink parts they had to try to reconstitute Silas's body. While Naught somewhat understood why Dredd wanted him to fix the lad, but at first he was confused as to why he was ordered to so, until his master explained about the untapped potential he saw in the boy, then it made sense. For years, Naught would do everything he could to complete both his tasks, but it would prove to be more challenging then he initially thought. N-Tek's operations would include the capture of all inert Ultralinks either on the planet, or in the planet's upper atmosphere which would in turn, make the task of finding a new energy source for both his master and his master's surrogate son.

The operation to retrieve an inert Ultralink in the upper atmosphere did not succeed, due to the Dreadnaughts that were sent to do this task were destroyed by N-Tek Sky Team 1 who were sent by their commander Forge Ferrus to retrieve the very same Ultralink.

But before he would give the unfortunate news to Dredd, he had to take care of business, more specifically, THI's new commercial with a few his marketing executives in his private office.

"Technology. It's our heart. It's our soul. Here at Trans Human Industries we're creating the future, today. From the food you eat, to the air you breathe. Together we're transforming the human experience. THI, let us become part of you." After the commercial ended the four marketing executives all expressed their love of it to Naught himself, who wore a smug, confident appearance on his face. He would then proceed to say...

"Order a blanket media buy and-" But before he would finish his sentence, he received an alert on his computer screen, an image of Dredd's mask repeatedly blinking and at that moment he knew it was time for his report. "Alright, get lost. I've got business to attend to." And the employees present would do as they were told and left his office. When the automatic doors closed, Naught pressed a secret button under his desk, which would lower a platform under his chair into a secret room where he would then talk with his master.

Dredd appeared on the main screen, his body clad in a special suit that was made after his Turbo Siphon was embedded into his body, covering everything up to his mouth, which would have a mask over it.

"You have news, Mr. Naught?" Dredd would ask, desperation noticeable in voice.

"Good news sir. Sales are up. 78%-" Naught would proceed. "What of the Ultralink?!" Dredd would then interrupt in a demanding tone. "Well, I'm afraid news on that front isn't quite as...rosy? Our forces were driven off by uh...N-Tek." Naught nervously explained. "N-TEK?!" Dredd exclaimed, before coughing an pounding on his side of the causing Naught to gulp in fear. "If we do not find a suitable energy source to keep me alive, all that I've done, all that I've planned, schemed, stolen, will be for nothing! I must have Turbo Energy!" Dredd exclaimed in rage. "We'll re-double our efforts, sir." Naught said in fear, attempting to calm his boss. "Don't not fail me! If this clock reaches 0, it won't just signal my end, Mr. Naught." Dredd would say threateningly, showing a countdown clock before ending his call. Naught would once again, gulp in fear.
