A/N: Welcome back after close to a month of procrastinating on my end. Part of the reason is because I have no plan for the remainder of the story. I'm just winging it. If I can reach a good goal, finishing the last two episodes by December 31, that would be great, but alas, setting writing goals isn't always my strong suit. The second part of Kimitation Nation, as promised, has arrived with appearances from Drakken and Shego. In Ron Step-up-pable, Drakken visited his mother's house and told her about his future son. Then, Stoppable used his Mystical Monkey Power to pull a spaceship down to Earth, which caused an earthquake. Drakken's fate remained in the air as the roof above him collapsed. What happened? Well, you'll find out. Let's wrap this up. I have two more episodes. Then, I get to edit everything, plan season 2, and work on the next season. Without further ado, let's go.
Disclaimer: I do not own Kim Possible. I only own the OCs, one of which only appeared in the prologue. Anything you recognize from the show belongs to Disney.
Note: There is a fight scene that shows similarities to the fight in chapter 1: the prologue right before Andrew and Ron disappear.
Drakken did not know hospitals well. Given his reputation as an evil scientist, he knew jail better. He could tell you the number of bricks in a hospital wall, the days the prison mattress sagged whenever someone, usually him, plopped down in frustration, and what constituted breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Sunday through Saturday. Following his college dropout, Drakken spent more time in jail than in hospitals. The hospital never seemed like a secondary home; jail did.
Now, though, the hospital seemed like home. Sure, Drakken could ignore the beeping, the incessant and blatant disregard of privacy from the nurses all hours of the day – Shego did that all that time – and the alarms that blared every time so one so much as coughed, as he was alive. Alive being a relative term after his near-death experience. His lungs still felt like they were playing a tune inside his body.
Drakken ran through images of the good, the bad, the wrong, and the right when the roof came for his head. He had whispered, "I believe," then lived. But what did Drakken believe? World peace? Unlikely. Supernatural protection? Possibly. A fearsome reputation? Again, unlikely. Kim's interference? Under normal circumstances, Drakken might have believed Kim orchestrated the roof collapsing. She interfered with his plans before, but this didn't seem like her doing. No, it was something else.
Drakken's mind returned to the flashes. He was chatting and laughing with his friends. Before his friends laughed him out of the university, Drakken found his friends to be the only family he cared for. The next flash highlighted his earlier fight with Shego before the two went their ways: Drakken to his mother's house and Shego to who knows where. The next flash was his shaving incident. No, not that.
Drakken's head slammed against the pillow as he realized his unexplained utterance: his son, Andrew. He had a son. He was a father. He and Shego were a couple. Still, what did it say that Andrew did not reach out to him and Shego? Shego knew about Andrew, it seemed. She didn't seem surprised when Andrew launched her Go Glow. How could he have forgotten such a pivotal detail? Emotions and questions Drakken wasn't ready to face flooded his mind.
No matter. Drakken recalled Back to the Future, one of his favorite movies as a kid. The masterpiece he witnessed, the scientific laws behind time travel and its consequences, the inventions, Great Scott! Drakken searched for parts to create a DeLorean in college, including the flux capacitors. He used those parts for his Bebe robots instead. Like Marty McFly, Drakken needed to accept that time travel was now a part of his life.
From this moment on, Drakken vowed… wait. A disquieting realization dawned on him – Drakken was a paradox, wasn't he? Even though he never traveled in time, his reliance on events in the future could alter Andrew's existence. Add that to the fact that Drakken didn't know how Andrew's future came to be and that Drakken's actions would create a self-reinforcing cycle with life-altering implications. Well, one didn't get an omelet without breaking a few eggshells. However Andrew arrived back here, he was Drakken and Shego's son. So long as Andrew had a promising future, who was Drakken to complain?
"Drew Lipsky," a voice called.
Drakken looked up at the red hair, the motherly face, her stern yet professional smile, and knew she and Kim Possible were related. Was this Kim's sister? He didn't believe so, as his research would have told him otherwise. "You look familiar," he said.
"Ann Possible," the woman said, not looking up from her chart. "I'm Kim's mom, and I will be in charge of your care today. Any aches, pains, or concerns?"
"Mostly my back," Drakken said. "It hurts more than usual."
Not to Drakken's surprise, Dr. Possible did not react. Doctors were like that. After Anne verified a previous back injury and his scoliosis and checked him once more, Anne told him the good news before leaving. Drakken leaned back, a smile as he saw his mother resting in the seat beside him. Two more days, and then he would see his son again.
This is a nightmare, Andrew thought as he arrived in the school parking lot three days later. He rubbed his eyes and frowned when images of Kim Possible in her mission clothes remained in the parking lot. After mistaking two people for Kim, Andrew felt a rock grow in his stomach. According to Ron, Drakken cloned him, Bonnie, Rufus, and Kim Possible in the past. Could this be what was happening here? Kim Possible clones?
His eyes scanned the school parking lot, searching for anything unusual and tuning into his surroundings. No danger presented itself. Andrew's eyes caught the familiar naked mole rat on a cheerleader's shoulder. The red hair and the naked mole rat told him this was the real Kim. Unless, of course, someone cloned Rufus as well. He approached.
"Man," Kim groused. "Just great. Andrew, thank goodness. You won't believe what happened. Kim-Style apparently became a thing."
"I see," Andrew said. While he never heard the term before, Andrew knew the poofy pink style from a few days ago. Given the style where people dressed in poofy pink dresses like Bonnie, Kim-Style must focus on Kim's clothing, specifically her mission clothes. When Kim saved the Download Music Awards, someone must have filmed her, which allowed Elsa Clique to copy her style. "This means what?"
Kim shrugged. Andrew hummed. They might not know, but the popular people, maybe even Monique, might know. The next morning, Monique and Andrew pulled Kim toward the senior table. Monique thought if Kim dressed in mission clothes, she could sit at the coveted senior table.
"Everybody's wearing it. It's way beyond cheerleader cool," Monique pointed out.
"That doesn't mean anything," Kim said.
"Oh, sure it does! This is save-the-world cool! And how cool is that?!" Andrew cried.
After Andrew backed up Monique, Kim's confidence grew as she believed she could sit at the senior table. She could also rub her style into Bonnie's face. "Hey, Bonnie. Nice outfit."
Bonnie turned and smirked. "Thanks, K. Also, nice try, but you really can't pull this look off."
Andrew clenched his fists, feeling frustrated on Kim's behalf. Kim sulked away as the students laughed. Bonnie's taunting smirk and the laughter of the surrounding students fueled his determination. Kim didn't deserve this ridicule. The least she deserved was a bit of respect from the school. He glanced at Monique, who looked equally displeased. Something needed to be done. If 'Kim-Style' was really a thing, people needed to be sure it wasn't just a fashion statement but a symbol of bravery. If they could get the student body to see the real Kim Possible, Bonnie's words would mean nothing. Perhaps Liz or one of the other cheerleaders would help him and Monique. In the meantime, Andrew needed Shego. If there was going to be an army of Kim clones, he would need his mom's help.
Drakken groaned as he shifted in bed. The darn nurse wouldn't let him leave until tomorrow. The flowers on the nightstand from his mother wilted with his mood, their once vibrant colors no longer visible. He had called Shego asking if she could visit. She laughed, said hospitals weren't her thing, then hung up. The conversation had ended as quickly as it began, leaving Drakken with that familiar sense of loneliness. This reminded Drakken of college after he lost his friends. Perhaps Shego's reluctance to visit signified a premonition of Drakken's social life. If he couldn't get Shego to visit, what chance did he have for his future son or his interests?
Drakken mumbled a thank you after the nurse finished checking his lungs and blood pressure. A while after she left, Drakken heard a tap on his window. Shifting his head, Drakken spotted the trademark catsuit and smiled. Careful not to tangle his wires, Drakken reached the window and pushed it open. Shego cleared the window and stared at Drakken.
"I didn't think you'd come," Drakken said. He stood taller, a smile appearing when he realized if Shego visited him, then his future son could also. "You said you wouldn't."
"And I'm not here to the rest of the world. This is only a courtesy," Shego said. "Now, what's so important that I had to sneak into the hospital?"
Drakken, sensing the fragility of this moment, headed back to bed, his eyes watching the doorway for any appearing nurses. "Andrew. First, it was not cool for you to avoid telling me about my son, our son. We need transparency. No more lies. If we are to have a relationship with our son, we need, no, we must be better. If we continue staying evil, we open the possibility of losing our son. We must stay good. In order to have a relationship with our son, you need to see him, which means we'll need to see Kim Possible, hang out with –"
"Absolutely not!" Shego spat. "I'm all for forming a relationship with my son, but hanging out with that red-haired shrew, not going to happen."
"I don't like Kim either, but for my son, I will tolerate her. In fact, I need stronger relationships with Kim's family. James was my friend once. Maybe he'll forgive me." Seeing Shego about to retort, Drakken said, "You know I'm right."
And Drakken believed he was right. Andrew was their son, not just Shego's son. They shared the responsibility of a kid in the future. His plea, "We must stay good," was not just a moral issue but about a meaningful future with their child. Change hinged on their willingness to see their son and interact with Kim Possible, a notion Shego vehemently rejected.
Shego opened her mouth, but no words came out. Drakken met Shego's eyes, the tension forming a palpable atmosphere. A cell phone buzzed, and Shego pulled it out of her catsuit. "It's Andrew. He wants to meet me."
Drakken found his voice as Shego headed to the window. "Think about what I said."
Shego turned, glanced at Drakken, and then leaped out the window.
"Are you insane?" Shego hissed as she sat across from Andrew. "I'm not planning something for that red-haired shrew." In her mind, Shego recalled saying the same thing to Drakken. Strange how things came full circle.
Andrew turned to Kim, who was sitting at Ron's usual spot in Bueno Nacho. She appeared busy turning her salad over. However, Andrew knew Kim was holding her tongue at seeing Shego again. While Kim and Shego eventually moved on from their 'I-hate-you' phase, he knew the relationship needed work now. Hopefully, this clone nonsense would create a doorway for Kim and Shego's friendship.
"I'd really like it if you would plan something for this, Mom," Andrew said. "I understand you don't like Kim, but she needs the rally. Do you remember your high school and how people tried cheering you up when you became angry?"
"I wouldn't have told you about high school," Shego said. "Who did? Drakken?"
The hairs on Andrew's head raised as he opened his mouth. The flower power that helped him create flowers and remove obstacles warned him of something fishy. Turning his head, he saw Kim Possible in a black mission suit approaching. When did she change shirts? She was wearing a green tee last he saw, something he remembered because Shego pointed it out when she arrived.
A growl escaped clone-Kim's throat. If Andrew didn't know who the real Kim was, he did now. Curious bystanders stood up and talked amongst themselves. Kim, Monique, and Shego saw the lookalike and gaped.
"Is that me?" Kim said.
"She doesn't sound like you," Andrew said as he kept his eyes glued to Kim. He anticipated that this Kim had all the same fighting styles as the old Kim. Without Yono's powers aiding her, Andrew felt reassured in the upcoming fight. As Kim the Clone approached, Andrew thought of everyone and everything.
Drakken. Shego. World Peace. Nacos. Shego. Media recognition.
"Need me to step in?" Shego asked.
"I got this. Just keep your eyes out for more clones." Andrew ignited his hands with the Go Glow.
"More clones? There is going to be more of me?" Kim said, her tone growing hurt as if Shego had attacked her instead of the aspect someone cloned her.
"There were before," Andrew mentioned. "Now, if you excuse me, talk is cheap. It's time to fight."
Andrew circled the Kim-clone while Kim's eyes followed Andrew. For a clone, Kim seemed serious and willing to fight. Upon realizing the clone was not about to attack, Andrew threw the first punch at Kim. She caught the fist in her palm.
Instead of saying anything like Kim the Yono did, Kim just thrust her hand at Andrew's shoulder. Andrew saw the attack coming and managed to turn sideways. He got in close, grabbed the clone, and attempted to bodyslam Kim; Kim escaped his grasp and retreated.
Andrew feinted a punch at Kim's lower body before aiming for Kim's jaw. The Kim clone fell for the faint and growled at Andrew before ducking under his next punch. She cartwheeled back a few feet to create separation.
Summoning two plasma balls, Andrew threw them both at Kim, only for Kim to dodge. "Holy naco," Andrew mumbled. He grimaced. His mother and Kim weren't supposed to hear that. They'd think Andrew was hanging around too much with Ron.
"Holy Naco," Kim said. "Sounds like something Ron would say."
Andrew sighed. "He did. Now, to wrap this fight up." Andrew threw a plasma ball to distract Kim while he vaulted himself into a handspring and aimed a kick at Kim's chest. To his delight, the Kim-clone did not have Kim the Yono's reflexes. He still recalled how Kim the Yono caught Andrew's leg in midair and, with her enhanced strength, twisted it. The Kim clone went flying across the room, her back hitting the manager's table. The clone stood with a grimace and charged.
"Get him, Drew!" Shego cried.
Ignoring Shego, Andrew summoned a plasma ball the size of a small car and hurtled it at Kim. The blast caught Kim-clone in the chest, and she shriveled up. Synthetic goo bubbled on the ground.
"Gross!" Kim said.
"Gytm," Monique said. "Girl, you're telling me."
Andrew withdrew his Go-powers and waited. According to Ron, more clones were supposed to arrive. However, nothing showed after ten minutes. Something was not adding up. If Drakken cloned Kim like he did last time, why were there so few clones? Surely, Drakken knew he needed an army of Kim, Ron, Bonnie, and Rufus clones to beat her.
"Well, I should leave," Shego noted. "I have a couple of crimes to commit."
Kim scoffed while Andrew nodded. "Do I even want to know?" the heroine said.
"Not like you can stop me. Later, Kimmie, Mone," Shego said as she rushed away from Bueno Nacho.
Andrew zoned out the noise of Kim and Monique's conversation as he scanned the surroundings, looking for anything unusual. There was nothing, and that scared him.
Drakken sighed as the lights turned out, leaving him in silence. After hours of interrogation from the nurses, who he believed could give the CIA a run for their money, Drakken closed his eyes and waited for sleep to come. He jumped at hearing a throat clearing, his heart skipping beats.
"Bold move today, Doc," Shego said. Drakken turned, seeing her jump down from the ceiling and land by his bed. "By the way, your clone failed spectacularly."
Drakken propelled himself up on his elbows and turned. "Clone? What clone?"
"The Kim-clone that entered Bueno Nacho this afternoon. I know cloning is your specialty, especially syntho-goo. Honestly, I'm surprised you never tried cloning me, never mind my no cloning clause in the contract," Shego said.
The last time Drakken felt this confused was learning there was only one Possible in Middleton. "What are you talking about?" Drakken hissed. "I've been in the hospital since that earthquake. I haven't had the opportunity to clone anyone!"
Drakken stared at his sidekick, who would one day become more, and she stared back. The monitor beeping provided the only conversation.
"You didn't clone Kim," Shego said.
"No, I haven't cloned anyone. I admit, if not for our son, I would clone Kim in a heartbeat. The fact is, Andrew is here, and I didn't need the cloning notes anymore. I deleted them almost three weeks ago."
Shego pulled her shoulders in and said, "So if you didn't clone Kim, who did?"
Down in a basement, Greg grumbled as he watched the news. While he was pleased his Kim-clone earned recognition, it didn't perform to his liking. Modifications needed to be made. In the meantime, there was still time, as no one had arrested him yet. Another three Kim clones lay in a pod near the far end of the wall. Greg chuckled before full-blown laughing as a timer dinged and the first Kim clone stepped out of its pod.
