And now on to the story.
"...So after that misunderstanding was corrected, I helped them fix the mess I made." Henry said leaning against a wall in the back dock of the museum, a can filled with soda in his hand, "So everything is good between us. I even offered to break in again to check their new security system. They politely decline."
"Seems you weren't bored when we weren't around." Shelby said.
It had been a day or so since the Rangers had returned from New Zeeland, the Purple Energem recovered and they even found the Plesio Zord.
Shelby had told him about Albert Smith, with which the Energem had bonded to first, a rather quirky man who was deadly afraid of monsters. He had decided to no longer be a Ranger and, with Keeper's help, severs the bond with his Energem.
"Must have been after I broke him out of prison." Henry said.
"That girl you mentioned, Zoey." Shelby teased after Henry showed a photo of him and the Battlegrid Rangers, "She looks cute."
"She definitely is!" Henry said with a smile, "She called me tall, dark haired and handsome."
"Oh, really?" Shelby said with an interested smirk.
"What are you? Oh, dear lord." Henry said upon realizing what she meant, "Please don't turn into Ana the second and try to convince me to continue the Morgenstern bloodline."
"Come on Henry." she teased, "You two would have cute kids!"
"Of course I would have cute kids! They would be half me." Henry said, "I'm just not into the blonde and green eyes combination."
"Why not?" she said, "Blonde and green eyes go well together."
"Yes, I do agree with that. And I'll be first to admit that I have a soft spot for that particular combination in a woman..." he said with a knowing nod, "But that's because of my mom. She has blonde hair and green eyes."
"That would be a bit weird..." she admitted, "What is your type though?"
"Shelby, we've gone over this. I don't have a type, because the entire concept of having one favorite type is crass and limiting." Henry said, "Besides, we all know I have a thing for Kendall." he added with a wink.
The two laughed just as Kendall came walking up to them, "What are you two doing hanging around?"
"We are working." Henry said gesturing to the warehouse workers, "We are supervising the people who are unloading all those boxes."
"Yeah, someone got the museum new fossils." Shelby said.
Kendall looked confused, until she looked at the signed delivery form. "From the prince of Zandar?" she said.
"Wonder what's up with that." Henry said, crushing the empty can in his hand before throwing it over his shoulder.
Without looking, the can soared through the air before it landed right into the trash can. Shelby and Kendall looked very impressed with that shot.
"Alright, let's go Shelby." Henry said, hand in his pocket as he gestured with his head.
"Where are you two going?" Kendall said with a frown, "Don't you two have work to do?"
Henry looked at his watch, "We're going shopping." he said, "And nope, our shift ended three seconds ago."
Kendall shook her head, "Whatever." she said annoyed, Just remember, you got to work Saturday."
"Do I have to?" Henry said annoyed.
"Yes." Kendall said as she walked off.
Henry let out a groan of annoyance as a sympathetic Shelby patted him on the back.
The following Saturday, Henry was sitting in the passenger seat of Kendall's purple Audi RS3 Sportback. She had insisted on driving, saying it was because she took so long in the bathroom that morning. Which in Henry's mind was worth it, because Kendall looked rather nice for the occasion. A bit more casual than what she would usually wear. Her hair down up nicely and a hint of make-up.
She almost looked like she was going on a date.
"You look good." Henry said, before looking out the window, "Kendall, you missed the exit to the museum."
"Henry, we never take the same car to work." she said annoyed, "To keep our situation a secret."
"Oh yeah, then why am I here!?" Henry said before realization set in, "Are you going to drive me out to the desert and kill me?"
"Shit. My plan is ruined." Kendall muttered dryly, "Oh well, plan B."
"You know..." Henry said amused, "I'm still surprised you can look over the steering wheel."
"I don't hear you complain when my height when it allows us to do it in weird positions." Kendall said, "Like when I bend forward and you lift me up...
"Very true... That is a nice position." Henry said with a laugh, he looked surprised when one of his favorite songs played. Though the biggest surprise was not that the song was on the radio, but was actually on Kendall's playlist.
"Holy shit." he said.
"What? You don't like Huey Lewis and the News?" Kendall said with a frown, "I mean, I get it. Their early work was a little too New Wave, even for my tastes."
"Oh I know. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically." Henry said much to her surprise, "Yeah, I like Huey Lewis and the News."
Kendall gave him a surprised glance before focusing on the road, "If there where any out of the way parking places, I would be riding you so hard right now." she said with an approving smile.
About a half hour later, Henry was surprised when they arrived outside the movie theater. Kendall parked the car before they got out.
"What are we doing here?" he said confused.
"To look for fossils." Kendall said sarcastically.
"You think there is an Energem here?" Henry whispered.
"Now your just trying to annoy me!" she said much to his amusement.
They entered the theater where Henry followed after Kendall, who had order two tickets online and where on her phone.
"Already seen that one, bad one, so bad its a good one." Henry said as he looked at a display showing movies currently showing, "I will kill everyone in this theater and then myself if we go to that one."
"Please Henry." Kendall said, "Don't insult my taste."
"Enjoy the movie, lovebirds." the movie theater clerk said, after he checked their tickets.
"Oh, no. None of that lovebird stuff." Kendall told him, "Me and him? We're not a couple."
"Yeah, we are just in a situation." Henry said with a nod, "Completely different."
At the snack court, Henry insisted on paying for their drinks and snacks. Kendall didn't let him see which movie they where going, but he did notice that Kendall had reserved pretty good seats.
"This is nice." he said, opening his bottle.
"Yeah..." Kendall said, debating if she should place her hand on his.
But before she could make a decision, something happened neither were counting on. The fact that they would find some familiar faces attending the same showing as they where.
"Hey Henry! And... Kendall!?"
Getting the attention of the two, Henry saw it was Koda, waving at him with a hand which he hold a bottle of soda with. He was with the other Rangers, each carrying snacks and drinks with them. Kendall quickly moved her hand to the side of her face, as if trying to hide that she was here.
"I told you that was Kendall's car in parking lot." Koda said with his charming goofy grin.
"I guess your right." Riley said.
"What are you two doing here?" Shelby said, "I thought you two had to work or something."
"Oh, we managed to finish the work early." Henry said quickly.
"I felt bad for making Henry ruin his Saturday plans, so I offered to take him to a movie." Kendall added to his lie.
It was a pretty good excuse, though Shelby raised an eyebrow at Kendall, who in her opinion looked like she had dressed up for a date. Shelby shrugged her shoulders, as the lights died down as the movie was starting. Sitting next to Henry while Tyler plopped himself down next Shelby.
Henry was surprised when he saw that the movie Kendall had picked for them was none other than 'Arabian Knight 2: The Dark Realm', the movie he was suppose to go to with the other Rangers instead of being locked up with Kendall.
Out of the corner of her eye, despise the darkened room, Shelby could have sworn she saw Kendall's hand sliding over to grasp Henry's.
After the movie, Shelby, Riley, Chase, Ivan and Kendall were waiting outside as Tyler and Koda practically had to drag Henry out of the theater, he was completely excited about the movie.
"That. Was. Awesome!" he declared, doing a fist pump in the air, "I can't believe how awesome it was! I was surprised that The Hollowstrike had an appearance! And I am totally shipping him with Arabian Knight now!" an excited gleam in his eyes.
"I know, it was great right?" Shelby said, "Now I can't wait for 'The Fratziano: The Chaos Warrior'."
"Yeah, me too." Henry said, "So who's up for a few beers at the Penguin Sniper lounge?"
The Rangers where okay with this plan, not wanting to go home just yet, though Kendall tried to respectfully decline. "I have some work to do at the lab." she said, "But have a..."
"Oh, come on, Ms. Morgan." Tyler said, "We never hang out outside of work!"
"Yeah, you should go out more." Chase said, "If you keep this up you'll become a crazy cat lady!"
"I don't even own one cat!" Kendall protested.
"Give it some time." Chase said.
"No, really." Kendall said, holding up her hands, "I'm good..." before yelling out a yelp.
Henry had picked her up and hanging her over his shoulder, "I got her!" he yelled, "Let's go!" despise Kendall's vocal protest, he carried her with him as he and the other Rangers began to make a run for it.
That evening, Henry carried Kendall into her apartment, having driven her back in car. It was a miracle he had managed to get behind a wheel. Not because he had consumed too much alcohol, but because it was nearly impossible to get behind the wheel with how close her seat was to her steering wheel.
It took some time to move the seat back so Henry could get behind the wheel.
"You know, I never have been so happy being kidnapped." Kendall said with a laugh as she sat down on her sofa, "Not that I have been kidnapped before."
"I had fun too." Henry said as he sat down next to her.
He then felt Kendall lean against him, resting her head on his shoulder. One hand made its way to his chest and began tracing circles.
"Thank you for taking me to the movies." Henry said, "I'm surprised you actually did. With wanting to keep our situation a secret, and you not liking superhero movies."
"Well we weren't able to go to that restaurant the other day." she said, "I wanted to do something nice for you. As for why the that movie, it was a bit my fault you couldn't see it. And you know me, I rarely make mistakes but when I do, I correct them. No excuses."
"It was nice, spending time with you outside of work or our apartments for once." Henry said.
Kendall smiled at him and pushed him onto his back. She quickly climbed into her lap, he could feel her weight bearing down on his crotch. "I don't know if it is the wine talking." she said as she began to lean towards him, "But I'm feeling horny right now."
Finding it difficult to fight against his rapidly growing lust, Henry leaned upwards towards Kendall, preparing to return the approaching kiss when suddenly her phone went off.
Gesturing for him to hold on for a second, she got off him as she picked up her phone. Looking at the screen, her expression darkened.
"...Hello." she said after picking up, "Yeah... Get to the point, already. That's not funny! No, it would be a waste of a plane ticket. Whatever, just let me know when it happened. So I can crack open a bottle of wine."
Without a further word, she hung up on the caller. Her good mood had disappeared completely, as a fuming Kendall was glaring at her television.
"Hey, Kendall." Henry said gently, "Is everything alright?"
"I'm fine!" Kendall shouted before standing up, "Let's get to the bedroom! I'm in the mood for some angry sex!"
"I don't think that's a good idea." Henry said, tapping the empty space on the sofa, "Let's talk for a minute."
"You don't want sex? I just can't get a read on you, Henry Morgenstern!" Kendall scoffed, throwing up her hands, "What is it with the men in my life!?"
"...I'm a man in your life?" Henry said amused.
She shook her head but did take a seat, "That was my mother..." she said, "She told me my dad is in the final stages of the big C."
"Cancer?" Henry said and she nodded, "Oh, Kendall. I'm so sorry."
"Why would you? I don't really care if he dies or not." she said, "If you ask me how I feel about my dad, I would say I hate him. He never cared about me, so why should I care about him now?"
"I knew you weren't close with your family, aside from your grandma." Henry said, "But I never realized it was this bad."
"Another thing I'm jealous of. You and your family are so close." Kendall said with a deep sigh, "I'm okay now... Sorry, but the mood is gone. I understand if you want to go home."
But instead of saying anything or standing up to move to the door, she felt Henry wrap and arm around her shoulder before pulling her close, her head resting on his shoulder.
"No." he said softly, "I'm not going anywhere."
The month became October, which resulted in the temperature being lower in Amber Beach than it had been during the Summer months. Though it wasn't that much lower than in some other places. Autumn in Amber Beach just meant the beaches where less crowded.
On Halloween Evening, the Rangers would gather at the Command Lab before heading upstairs where the company Halloween party was being held. Chase and Kendall where in the main area of the Lab, waiting for the others to get dressed up.
Chase was wearing simple white sneakers, white gloves and a simple white sheet with black eyeholes, so he would be a ghost. Kendall meanwhile was wearing a rather attractive Cupid outfit, along with a set of fake wings, her hair lose and her long her resting on her shoulder. She also wasn't wearing her usual glasses, which made her dark eyes really pop out.
"Guys, the party is going to start soon!" Kendall called, "We have to hurry."
"Chase!" Tyler said with a spooky voice as he came around a corner, wearing the exact same costume as Chase, "Great job on my ghost costume!"
With a ghostly wail, Riley came around a corner before he noticed what Tyler was wearing, the remaining Rangers, save for Henry, came to the main area, each where the exact same costume as Chase.
"Either someone has filled the base with mirrors." Ivan said with a laugh, "Or we're all ghosts."
"I like that we look same." Koda said, pulling the sheet down to show his goofy smile, "Like tribe!"
"Even under that fine costume." Chase said with his arms crossed as he looked at the shortest ghost, "I can tell you're unhappy."
"Chase!" Shelby said, pulling up her sheet to reveal her face, "You made us all the same costume!?"
"I looked so good in the first one. I figured I'd make six." Chase said lookin in a nearby mirror, "Even under this sheet I look awesome!"
"Hey, where is Henry?" Koda said.
"Oh, he texted me." Tyler said looking at his red phone, "He told me to press this link in, three... two... one."
Tyler did so, as from the speakers in the Lab, something Kendall didn't even know where hanging there, a deeply menacing orchestral march played. The doors to the elevator opened dramatically, as Henry stepped out, wearing a movie accurate Darth Vader suit including lights and breathing noises.
"Awesome!" Tyler said excited.
"How much did that cost you?" Riley said impressed by the costume's quality.
"A pretty penny, Riley." Henry said with Vader's iconic deep voice, the helmet apparently having a voice changer.
"It's only fitting Henry dresses up as a bad boss." Kendall noted.
"And I see you are dressed up as Cupid." Henry said, "I remember Cupid being rather short in the myths, but not that short."
"It's in honor of me finally fixing a problem and creating the new Dino Cupid Charger." Kendall said proudly, showing off the small battery in her hand.
"Cupid was a dinosaur?" Henry said with a shrug, "Sounds as plausible as a dragon."
"And what noble purpose might that serve, Ms. Morgan?" Ivan said.
"Once struck by a blast of this energy." Kendall said, "The target will fall in love with the first thing it sees."
"So it will quit fighting." Shelby said, "That's genius."
"And start humping the thing it fell in love with." Henry said, "Come on, the beer is getting warm."
The sounds of laughter, music, and loud conversation came from the Dino Café. The ceiling and walls had been draped with orange pumpkins, grey skeletons and black bats decorations The room was crowded in the light cast by jack-o-lanterns dangling from the ceiling.
A haze of smoke from a fog machine hung low over the floor, against the wall was a table with food and drinks. Henry was with Tyler, Shelby and Chase, each having a drink. Though with Henry's costume, he had to drink through a straw.
"Really great costume, Henry." Shelby complimented him, "Though why the big bad boss himself? Your nothing like Vader."
"Lot to unpack there." Henry said, "Well I did it because I overheard the guy from HR compare me to Darth Vader, I don't like him."
"The guy from HR? You mean Toby." Chase said, "You don't like Toby Flenderson?"
"No, I most certainly do not. Toby works for Corporate, and is therefore not a part of our family. He's also divorced, so he's not even part of his own family!" Henry said irritated, "But back to the other thing Shelby said. Vader isn't a bad guy. Can I just point out it was the terrorist rebels that shot first?"
"What?" Tyler said confused.
"Yeah, Vader was obviously only going to ask them to give the plans back politely. Even lighting up the dark room so as to make eye contact and establish trust." Henry explained, "But the terrorist rebels do not negotiate and choose to attack Vader."
"Right." Shelby said, thinking he was joking, "Next thing your telling me, is that when you watch the Karate Kid, you root for the mean blonde kid."
"Who else should I root for? The scrawny nerd from New Jersey who barely even knows karate?" Henry scoffed, "When I watch The Karate Kid, I root for the karate kid. Johnny Lawrence, from the Cobra Kai Dojo. Get your head out of your ass, Shelby." before he walked away.
Mingling with his colleagues, Henry spotted Koda snacking away. "Ease up on the food, buddy."
"Hey, Henry." Koda said with a mouth full of food, which he made go down into his stomach with one big swallow, "Can I ask you something."
"Of course, Koda." Henry said, "Anything for my favorite caveman."
"There is smell in Command Lab. It's..." Koda said thinking of the right words, "It smell like caveman mating ritual."
"Oh..." Henry said, realizing why such scent would be down there but he was surprised it still was, "I'll come by next Saturday to help you air it out."
"Thank you." Koda said with a big smile under his costume, "Ivan can't smell it. Maybe it's my caveman sense."
"Must be it." Henry said.
A little while later, Henry was standing with Kendall, looking at their employees. It had been hard work, but Henry was glad the effort he put in organizing this Halloween party was worth it.
"There are some great costumes this year." Kendall said as she spotted what looked like some sort of vampire monster in a gothic black and blue dress, eyes glowing red.
"Indeed, cool costume." Henry said to the passing by vampire, "She got the third best one here."
"Let me guess." Kendall said, "Your number one."
"Obviously. Though I have to admit, yours is a close second." Henry said confidently, "And that's only because I can't decide if I think your better looking with or without glasses."
"What?" she said, "That's your reason?"
"Yeah, I mean. Without them, your chocolate brown eyes really pop out, though that can be the make-up you used." Henry noted, "But your purple glasses are just so iconic."
"I'll just take that as a compliment." Kendall said, "...You have pretty eyes as well."
"Thank you, I'm very proud of them." he said puffing out his chest, "I got them from my mommy."
"But I didn't... Oh." Kendall said with a smirk, "You mean your birth mother."
"Nice one, Kendall." Henry said with a laugh, "You know Kendall... If we were married, your name would be Kendall Morgenstern."
"Just change the A into an E in my last name and add Stern to the end..." Kendall muttered, her cheeks gaining a red tint when it fully sank in what he had said, "S-So is that a proposal?"
"What. No!" Henry said quickly, "Its just a little bit of fun speculation! I do it with Tyler all the time, right Tyler?" he directed the last part to one of the passing ghosts.
"I'm Shelby." she said before she continued to walk.
"Not sure if I am more disturbed with you 'fun speculating' with Shelby or Tyler..." Kendall muttered.
"Man, Ivan can't dance." Henry said trying to chance the subject as he turned to the dance floor, "Or is it Riley? Whomever it is, they suck at dancing."
"And you can do it better?" Kendall said.
"Oh, please." Henry said annoyed, crossing his arms, "I dance like a god!"
"Sure, Henry." Kendall said, picking up a snack, "You keep telling yourself that."
"Oh, you need me to prove it, Kendall!?" Henry said defensively, "But don't blame me when your undies turn into a moist toilet."
To everyone's surprised, Henry actually did put on a pretty great dance performance on the song 'Beat It', despise wearing a pretty heavy costume and large quantities of clothes.
"Holy shit." Ivan said surprised, his eyes widening in shock, "The witch can dance like a god!"
During the dance, Henry pulled Kendall to the dance floor, despise her protests. He finishes the dance by catching Kendall as she leans over his arm. He smirks under the helmet at her while she gave him a surprised look as they pant and sweat.
"Is it possible to learn these dance moves?" Kendall said, when she felt a buzz coming from her bag.
"Not from a Jedi." Henry said, noticing her look once she looked at her Communicator, "What's wrong?"
"Alien DNA has been detected." Kendall said.
"Here?" Henry said, looking around, "At the party?"
"This alert is from twenty minutes ago." she said, both knowing how bad it is.
Going down to the Command Lab, they went to check the security footage, where from the front entrance it could be seen that Curio along with two aliens had kidnapped one of the Rangers, but with all of them wearing a ghost costume it was hard to tell who.
Calling them all down to the Lab, the remaining ghosts came in. Kendall did a head count but to her surprise they weren't missing one.
"What's wrong?" Tyler said as he and the Rangers removed their costumes.
"A little while ago, one of the Rangers was kidnapped but all of you are here." Kendall said confused before she realized it, "Which means..."
"There is an imposter among us." Henry said dramatically.
It took an hour, which in that time, Kendall had programmed some of the software on the computer, and hooking up a hand scanning device.
"Since one of you is an imposter." Kendall said, taking each of the Energems they collected and put them inside a small box, "Henry is going to hold on to the Energems until we discover who it is."
"My money is on Riley." Henry said, holding the box, "So how do we figure out who's who?"
"I'll ask each of them a few questions only the real Rangers would know the answers." Kendall said as she explained how she had created a lie detector.
"I'll go first." Riley said as he stepped forward, "I'll prove I'm no fake."
"Sounds like something a fake would say." Henry said, pointing with his finger at him.
Riley sat in the chair before waiting for further instructions.
"Hand under the lie detector please." Kendall explained, "I've programmed the machine to find out whether you're the imposter or not. Now Riley."
"If that's your real name." Henry said.
"When did you discover that Tyler, Henry and Shelby had Energems." Kendall said.
"Well my scooter had broken down and I stopped to fix it. Then Tyler, Henry and Shelby picked me up." Riley said, "Then we came here and discovered we're power rangers."
"That should be enough data." Kendall said, turning to the screen, "Computer, is Riley real or the imposter?"
"Riley is... Not the imposter."
"I will be keeping my eye on you." Henry told him.
"Somehow he's less intimidating with that suit." Riley muttered as he went back to the group.
"Koda." Kendall said, pointing to the caveman in blue.
"Oh, my turn?" Koda said, pointing to his face.
"How did you get Peter out of the cave when you both were captured by Slammer?"
"Oh Peter, very smart boy." Koda said, took his seat, hand under the detector, "Because of his GPS and my instinct we escape. Is that right, Ms. Morgan?"
Kendall did a double take on what she heard, "Computer, is Koda real or the imposter?"
"Koda is... Not the imposter."
Koda gave his trademark goofy grin as he joined the others, before the seat was filled by Tyler.
"Okay Tyler, your turn." Kendall said, "How did you meet Chase?"
"Chase, I don't even know if you remember this." Tyler said, looking at him before turning to Kendall, "But I first met him at the museum when I asked about Sampson Caves, the place where I found my Energem. So I guess if it weren't for Chase, I wouldn't have found my Energem."
"Alright." Kendall said, "How did you know to call your T-Rex Zord the first time you met it?"
"That's a trick question. I didn't call him." Tyler said with a smile, "Rexy just showed up... and crushed Henry's motorcycle."
"I'm still in mourning." Henry said, looking down to the ground as he felt a lump in his throat, "Rest in peace."
"You mean rest in pieces." Chase said.
"Dude!" Henry scolded, "Not funny!"
"Thank you for the input." Kendall said looking to the screen, "Is Tyler real or the imposter?"
"Tyler is... Not the imposter."
Tyler smiled relieved before he stood up and went to the others.
"Chase." Kendall called.
"All right Ms. Morgan, here I come." Chase said, walking over before taking a seat. Laying his hand on the scanner before letting out a yell and quickly removing it as if in pain.
The others stood up, ready to throw down but the Black Ranger smiled, "Just kidding."
"He's real." Shelby said annoyed.
"How did Henry got rid of Smokescreen's bomb?" Kendall said.
"I remember that. He had to run all the way across the Pacific Ocean and drop it in the Mariana Trench." Chase said with a big smile, "Then he almost ran through a cruise ship on the way back, had to evade it but he tripped and fell into the ocean. When he got back to us he was all wet and there was a fish on his head."
"The fish was delicious, by the way." Henry said turning to the screen, "So is Chase real or the imposter?"
"Chase is... Not the imposter."
"So..." Ivan said with a glare towards Shelby, "One of us is the imposter, milady."
With it being Shelby's turn, sitting on the chair and hand under the detector, but her body language betrayed how uncomfortable she was.
"Nervous?" Kendall said as she leaned in.
"I-I'd just like to get this over with." Shelby muttered, "Please.."
"Why did you suddenly decide to dress up as the princess of Zandar?" Kendall said with a raised eyebrow.
"B-Because I love princesses." Shelby said shifty.
"Not what I remember." Henry said, "Something about spoiled princess."
"N-no! It's not like that." Shelby protested, "I-I loved the outfit!"
"I don't remember that either, something about your feet being chomped on by alligators." Henry said, "It did made for a good picture. It's on my favorite coffee mug."
"You did not!" Shelby yelled.
"No distractions." Kendall said before turning her attention back to Shelby, "Answer the question."
"I-I wanted to play the princess in order to get the Ptera Charger back." Shelby said.
"I believe we heard enough lies." Kendall said turning to the screen, "Computer is Shelby the imposter?"
"Shelby is... Lying. Imposter detected."
"It's not me!" Shelby said quickly as she stood up, "I swear!"
The other Rangers stood ready to fight as they stared down the girl in pink. "What did you do to the real Shelby!" Tyler said at once.
"I believe you Shelby." Kendall said before a fight could break out.
"What?" Henry said.
"She's not the imposter." Kendall said, "Koda is."
At that moment, from the slide entrance to the Lab, came a tied up Ranger in his Ghost Costume, tumbling down. Henry and Ivan rushed over to help him up, undoing his binds and putting down the sheet to reveal it's Koda, the real one.
"That is not me." Koda said, pointing at the fake, "Because I'm me. Right?"
"Indeed you are you Koda." Ivan assured him before pointing at the second Koda, "And he is the imposter!"
"How did you know?" Shelby said to the woman in the Cupid costume.
"He called me Ms. Morgan." Kendall said matter-of-factly, "Koda is one of three people who always calls me Kendall."
"If you knew it was Koda, why continue with the questions?" Henry said, "Why did you grill on Shelby so hard?"
"It's Halloween right? Trick or treat?" she said, "I was in the mood to to some tricking."
"I'm so proud of you." Henry said, appreciating her prank.
Koda stood across Imposter Koda, each adopting the same fighting stance.
"Only real Koda can stop this." Koda said.
"Try and stop me." Imposter Koda said, "I'm as much Koda, as you are."
Koda struck the first blow, but Imposter Koda dodges the fist strike but gets hit under the chin by Koda's other fist. The hit against his chin causes to quickly lose form as the Imposter rolled over the floor. In purple smoke it was revealed to be the vampire monster Henry and Kendall had spotted named Memorella.
In an angry growl, she emitted purple smoke and transformed herself into a bat before making its escape through the slide entrance.
"Hurry friends!" Ivan said, "She knows the location of our base!"
"No need to hurry." Henry said, handing each one their Energems.
Memorella transformed back into her alien form, before setting it on a run as the Rangers gave chase. She turned a corner only to have a car tire smack her right in the face, the force sending her into the ground.
"See?" Henry said, having been the tire thrower, as the other Rangers caught up, "I didn't have to chase her cause she got Tired."
"That was funny, Henry." Koda said with a smile.
"What was?" Henry said confused.
"Vivix!" Memorella called summoning a group of Vivix, "Attack these lame-brained losers!"
The Rangers morphed as the two sides charged at each other.
Black Ranger dodging one of the alien's attack with a shoulder role, using his blaster to gun a few down. The Green Ranger used his sword to deflect the Vivix attack and roll to the side, readying himself for their next move.
While fighting another group, Blue Ranger grabs two by the throat, lifting them off the ground and slamming them down so hard that they bounced up and left a small crater. The Vivix went flying and hit the pavement from the force. Yellow Ranger notices the Vivix holding up their weapons, ready to fire. The world slowed down around him as he destroyed the group punching them so fast their head's caved in.
"I have an idea!" Gold Ranger called, "Use the Dino Cupid Charger Ms. Morgan created!"
"Good thinking!" Pink Ranger said, putting the Charger in her Blaster, "Dino Morpher, Love Blast!"
Spraying a beam of energy over the remaining Vivix, Memorella used them as a shield, but to her surprise neither she nor the Vivixs where hurt in the attack.
"What on earth was that?" she said.
The Vivix turned around to look at the vampire-like alien, immediately being smitten by her. Without a second to waste, the Vivix dogpiled Memorella, attempting to hug her as they had fallen deeply in love with her.
"Told you, they would start humping." Yellow Ranger pointed out.
The Gold Ranger went on the offence, calling his Ptera Saber before charging the finishing blow.
"Lightning! Final! Strike!" Gold Ranger shouted, unleashing his full power and with his single strike launched a wave of golden lightning forward. It roared through the air, and upon making contact with the Memorella and remaining Vivix, they where caught in a fiery explosion as they where vaporized.
Later that evening, the Rangers plus Kendall where having a little after party at Henry's place. Shelby was in the kitchen getting a beer while she talked with Tyler.
"That was some awesome teamwork." Tyler said, "With you and Ivan using the Dino Cupid Charger."
"Y-Yeah." Shelby said.
"So, not like it's any of my business but... What was the truth." Tyler said curiously, "Why did you decide to be the princess when I was the prince?"
"The truth? Uhm..." Shelby said her cheeks heating up, "Well I couldn't let Henry be your princess? I-I mean you two would have looked ridicules! With how much taller he is than you! And Henry in a princess dress? W-Wouldn't want to outshine you."
"Y-Yeah." Tyler said, a bit disappointed, "But he's much taller than all of us."
Outside of the kitchen, the Rangers where sitting in the living room. Each having a drink in hand, Henry's Vader helmet resting on a nearby table.
"Let me get this straight." Riley said a glass of coke in his hand, "Your honestly going to tell me, when you watch The Karate Kid, you don't root for Daniel-san?"
"Nope." Henry said.
"Then who do you root for in Die Hard?" Chase said, taking a sip from his beer.
"Hans Gruber. Charming, international bandit. At the end he died hard." Henry said as if it was obvious, "He's the title character."
"Okay." Shelby said as she and Tyler joined them, "What about the Potter and Kent Chronicles?"
"Voldemort obviously." Henry said at once, "A genius young wizard on a journey to become immortal, only to have his dreams and horcruxes destroyed by a group of scrawny seventeen year old's."
"Voldemort was a magic fascist who wanted to take over the world for pureblood wizards!" Riley said slightly horrified.
"Yeah." Henry said confused, "So what's your point?"
"Okay, American Psycho." Tyler said, "You must at least have some familiarity with it."
"Patrick Bateman, obviously." Henry said with a raised eyebrow, "He is a young, wealthy, handsome banker who wears great suits and murders really annoying people. Then even after admitting it, he get's away with it. What a hero!"
"I got one." Kendall said, "Terminator."
"What was the title of the movie again?" Henry said, glancing at her before looking around at everyone in the room, "Who among us didn't shed a tear when his little red eyes went out and he didn't get to kill those people?" his voice breaking the longer he went on.
"...I'm never watching a movie with you ever again." Riley muttered.
"They didn't even try to help him!" Henry yelled, sounding as if he was on the verge of tears.
