As Naruto and Jiraiya made their way toward the Hidden Waterfall Village, the atmosphere shifted. Naruto was lost in thought, contemplating his training, when suddenly he felt a sharp sting on his cheek. A kunai had flown by, barely grazing him, and he instinctively reached up to touch the cut.

"What the—?" Naruto exclaimed, his eyes widening as he turned to Jiraiya, who was already on high alert.

"Stay sharp, Naruto!" Jiraiya warned, scanning their surroundings. The air was tense, filled with an unseen danger.

From the shadows of the trees, two male ninjas emerged, flanking a girl who appeared to be around Naruto's age. She had short black hair that framed her face, and her expression was one of determination mixed with defiance.

"Who are you?" Jiraiya demanded, stepping in front of Naruto to shield him.

One of the male ninjas smirked, his eyes narrowing as he spoke. "We're from the Stone Village"

As the tension hung in the air, the young girls expression twisted with anger. Before anyone could react, she suddenly hurled a kunai straight at Naruto. He barely had time to react, twisting to the side just in time for the blade to slice through the air where he had been standing moments before.

"What's your problem?!" Naruto shouted, brushing himself off as he turned to face her, confusion written all over his face.

"You look just like him!" She spat, her eyes blazing with hatred. "The Fourth Hokage—Minato Namikaze! He's the reason my family was torn apart!"

"Wait, what?" Naruto's brows furrowed in confusion. "You know the fourth hokage?"

"Yes!" The young girl shouted, her voice filled with emotion. "My parents died because of his actions in the war! You're just a constant reminder of what I lost!"

Just as the other male ninja stepped forward, ready to launch an attack, he suddenly paused. His eyes widened in disbelief as he noticed the hidden mist headband around Naruto's arm. "No, this can't be him! He isn't a shinobi from the Leaf!"

Jiraiya took a step forward, his voice steady yet commanding. "Enough! You're not here to start a fight, are you? You should know better than to attack someone without understanding who they are."

Naruto watched as the young girl glared at him one last time, her expression a mix of determination and unresolved anger. "Remember my name: Kurotsuchi. The next time we meet, I'll be the one to kill you!" With that, she turned on her heel and stalked away with her comrades, leaving Naruto and Jiraiya in the dust.

"Great, just great," Naruto muttered, rubbing the back of his head in frustration. "Why does everyone want to fight me?"

Jiraiya chuckled lightly, trying to ease the tension. "You've got a lot on your plate, Naruto. It comes with the territory of being the son of the Fourth Hokage. Just be careful—hatred like hers can lead to dark places."

"Yeah, I know," Naruto sighed, looking at the path the stone ninjas had taken. "But I'm not my dad. I'm going to do my best to show people that there's another way."

"Good attitude," Jiraiya replied, patting him on the back. "But let's not dwell on that now. We have to focus on our training and gathering intel. The Hidden Waterfall Village isn't far from here, and I want to reach the spy network before nightfall."

Naruto nodded, his resolve renewed. "Right! Let's go!"

The three Stone ninja leaped across the rocky terrain, moving swiftly away from Naruto and Jiraiya. One of the male ninjas finally broke the silence, his tone sharp. "Kurotsuchi, what's your problem? You almost started an international incident back there! How could you not tell the difference between a Leaf shinobi and a Mist one? The blonde kid had a Hidden Mist headband, not the Leaf!"

Kurotsuchi clenched her fists, her dark eyes flickering with frustration. "Shut up! I know what I saw!" she snapped, her voice filled with bitterness. "He may wear a Mist headband now, but there's no mistaking it… that blonde kid is connected to the Fourth Hokage. I could feel it!"

The other Stone ninja, visibly more concerned, scoffed. "Feel it? That's a dangerous assumption to make. If we provoke the Hidden Mist over some personal vendetta, it could drag our whole village into unnecessary conflict. The Fourth Hokage is dead, Kurotsuchi. This isn't the time to chase ghosts."

Kurotsuchi stopped suddenly, glaring back at her teammate. "I know he's dead. But that boy… he had the same eyes, the same aura. There's no mistaking it!" Her hand tightened around the kunai she still held. "The Fourth killed so many of our people during the war… I can't just let it go."

The second male ninja placed a hand on her shoulder, his voice softer. "We all have our grudges from the war, Kurotsuchi. But this isn't about you. It's about our village. We can't afford to be reckless. We need to focus on our mission."

Kurotsuchi shrugged off his hand, her expression hardening. "I won't let this go. That boy… Naruto… he's hiding something, and I'm going to find out what it is. Whether he's from the Mist or not, I know deep down he's connected to the Fourth Hokage. And if that's true, I won't rest until I've avenged our people."

Her teammates exchanged uneasy glances, but they knew better than to argue further. Kurotsuchi's determination was unshakable. Though they feared the consequences of her actions, they silently followed her lead, hoping her instincts were wrong this time.

Naruto and Jiraiya stood at the edge of a massive waterfall that roared down into the deep valley below. The mist from the falls filled the air, making the area feel cool and damp. The sight was awe-inspiring, and Naruto couldn't help but be reminded of how much power nature had. Just as they were about to approach the hidden entrance to the Waterfall Village, they were suddenly stopped by several shinobi appearing from the trees.

One of the shinobi stepped forward, a tall, stern-looking man with the Waterfall Village headband on his forehead. His sharp eyes locked onto Jiraiya and Naruto as he spoke in a calm but firm voice. "Halt. State your purpose. The Waterfall Village does not welcome uninvited guests."

Jiraiya raised his hands in a gesture of peace, flashing a friendly grin. "Whoa, whoa, no need to be so aggressive. We're just travelers passing through. I'm Jiraiya, one of the legendary Sannin. We're here for some training, that's all. No harm meant."

The Waterfall shinobi's eyes narrowed at the mention of Jiraiya's name, clearly recognizing the title of "Sannin." However, he remained cautious. "Training, you say? And the boy?"

Naruto stepped forward, his headband glinting under the sunlight as he said, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, from the Hidden Mist." He knew his current status was that of a Mist shinobi, and it was safer to present himself that way. "We're not here to cause trouble, we just need some space to train."

The shinobi's eyes flickered between Jiraiya and Naruto, then back to the entrance of the Waterfall Village. After a moment of silence, he turned to his comrades, giving them a nod. "I see. If that's truly your intention, then I'll take you to meet the village leader. But I warn you, any suspicious behavior will be met with force."

Jiraiya nodded, his grin fading slightly as he gave a respectful bow. "We understand. Lead the way."

The group of Waterfall shinobi escorted Naruto and Jiraiya deeper into the forest until they arrived at a hidden pathway behind the waterfall itself. The sheer power of the water crashing down made it almost impossible to see the narrow entrance unless you knew where to look. Once they were through, they entered the hidden village—an oasis surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery.

At the center of the village stood its leader, Shibuki, a young but well-respected shinobi known for his cautious leadership. His expression was serious as he approached Naruto and Jiraiya.

"Jiraiya of the Sannin," Shibuki began, his tone formal. "It's not often we receive visitors from other lands. What brings you to our village?"

Jiraiya, ever the diplomat, gave a respectful bow. "Lord Shibuki, we're simply passing through on our way to train. We've heard of the natural beauty and serenity of the Waterfall Village, and we thought it would be the perfect place to sharpen our skills."

Shibuki eyed them cautiously but seemed to relax slightly. "If it's only training, I see no harm in letting you stay for a short while. But be warned—our village does not tolerate outsiders meddling in our affairs."

Naruto, sensing the tension, nodded enthusiastically. "Got it! We won't cause any trouble, I promise!"

Shibuki gave a small nod of approval. "Very well. You may train near the waterfall, but stay clear of the village's inner sanctums. Our trust does not come easily."

Jiraiya smiled, knowing they had gained permission. "Thank you, Lord Shibuki. We'll respect your wishes."

With that, Shibuki and the Waterfall shinobi departed, leaving Jiraiya and Naruto alone near the waterfall. The roar of the falls echoed around them, but Jiraiya's demeanor shifted back to his usual laid-back self.

"Well, kid," Jiraiya said, clapping his hand on Naruto's shoulder, "looks like we've got our training spot. Let's get to work."

Naruto grinned, eager to get stronger. "Right! I'm ready, Ero-Sennin!"

Jiraiya stood by the waterfall, pulling out a small slip of paper from his robes. He held it up in front of Naruto and began to explain the nature element affinity test. "This paper, Naruto, is called chakra paper. It reacts to the nature of your chakra and tells you which element you're most aligned with. Every shinobi has a primary element they can master more easily, and knowing it will help you in your training."

Naruto nodded, his curiosity piqued. "Okay, I think I get it. But, Ero-Sennin, I've been feeling like I can use water, kinda, but it takes a lot out of me. I can never keep it going for too long."

Jiraiya raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Interesting… Water is a pretty advanced element. Most people start with something they're naturally attuned to before they try anything else. Let's see what we're working with."

He handed the chakra paper to Naruto. "All you have to do is focus a bit of your chakra into the paper, and it'll react based on your affinity. If it's fire, it'll burn. If it's wind, it'll tear. Water will make it damp, and earth will make it crumble. Lightning causes it to wrinkle."

Naruto held the paper between his fingers and closed his eyes, concentrating on sending his chakra into it. Almost instantly, the paper reacted. One half of the paper split cleanly down the middle, while the other half became wet, as if soaked in water.

Jiraiya's eyes widened as he observed the results. "Well, I'll be damned. You've got dual affinities—wind and water."

Naruto looked down at the paper, confused. "Wind and water? Is that good?"

Jiraiya grinned, clearly impressed. "It's more than good. Most shinobi only have one dominant chakra nature, but you've got two. Wind is one of the rarest and most powerful offensive elements, while water is versatile and can be both defensive and offensive. You've got the potential to be something special."

Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement. "So, I can use both? That's awesome!"

Jiraiya nodded. "Yes, but that doesn't mean it'll be easy. Mastering one element is hard enough, but mastering two will take a lot of time and effort. We'll start with your wind nature, since that seems to be your strongest. Once you've got a handle on that, we'll work on water."

Naruto clenched his fists, determined. "Alright! I'll master both of them! I've gotta get stronger."

Jiraiya smirked, watching Naruto's enthusiasm. "Good attitude, kid. Now, let's get started."

He led Naruto over to a spot near the waterfall where the wind whipped and water splashed constantly. Jiraiya began showing Naruto how to focus his wind chakra, teaching him the basics of manipulating it to sharpen objects or create gusts of wind. Naruto struggled at first, but with Jiraiya's guidance, he began to feel the flow of his wind chakra becoming stronger and more controlled.

"This is going to take a lot of practice," Jiraiya said, observing Naruto's progress. "But you've got a natural knack for wind chakra. Once you've mastered this, you'll be able to create powerful jutsu like the Rasengan or even combine wind with other elements."

Naruto's eyes gleamed. "I'm ready for it! I won't stop until I've mastered both wind and water!"

After a long day of sparring and training by the waterfall, Naruto slumped down on the ground, panting heavily but smiling with satisfaction. Jiraiya watched him, impressed by his progress. "I've gotta say, kid, you've really got a handle on that water chakra. Most people struggle with controlling two elements, but you seem pretty comfortable with it."

Naruto wiped the sweat off his forehead and grinned. "Well, it wasn't easy, believe me! But back in the Hidden Mist, Chojuro, Haku, and Zabuza helped me out. Each of them taught me something different, and I guess it all came together."

Jiraiya raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Really? What kind of jutsu did they teach you?"

Naruto sat up and started explaining, excitement lighting up his eyes. "Chojuro taught me how to manipulate water for offensive techniques. He showed me how to create water from my chakra and form water to redirect attacks. Haku was all about precision, though. She taught me how to use water defensively and combine wind and water to create ice sharp senbon or freeze parts of my opponents but I don't think I can do it since she's mentioned it's part of her Kekkei Genkai. Zabuza's training was more brutal—he taught me how to use water for offense as well like using it for large-scale jutsu to overwhelm an enemy and overwhelmed me with his speed and strength."

Jiraiya chuckled. "So, you've got a well-rounded set of skills. You've already learned from some of the best in the Mist. That explains why you don't need too much help with water chakra."

Naruto puffed up with pride but quickly deflated, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "Yeah, but I still have a long way to go, especially with my wind nature. You saw how hard it was for me to control it."

Jiraiya nodded. "True, but it'll come with time. Wind chakra is tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to combine it with your water techniques to create something even more powerful."

As the sky grew darker and the stars began to twinkle above them, Jiraiya stretched and yawned. "Alright, kid, that's enough for today. You've done good, but you'll need your energy for tomorrow. Rest up, because the real training starts in the morning."

Naruto nodded, feeling the exhaustion finally catching up to him. He stood up and followed Jiraiya back to their campsite near the waterfall. As they settled down, Naruto couldn't help but glance at the bracelet Haku had given him, thinking about how much he wanted to grow stronger, not just for himself, but for the people who believed in him.

Laying down, Naruto stared up at the night sky. "Thanks, Ero-Sennin," he muttered. "I know I still have a lot to learn, but I won't stop until I'm strong enough to protect everyone."

Jiraiya smirked, sitting nearby. "You've got the right attitude, Naruto. Just keep that fire burning, and you'll get there."

With that, Naruto drifted off to sleep, knowing that tomorrow would bring new challenges and even more growth in his journey to becoming stronger.

After an intense day of training, Tsunade observed her students closely. Ino and Sakura were visibly exhausted, breathing heavily and trying to shake off the fatigue. However, to her surprise, Haku still had a calm composure, though Tsunade could see the subtle signs of weariness beneath her poised exterior. She was impressed by Haku's resilience, especially for someone who had recently been through so much.

"Alright, that's enough for today," Tsunade finally said, waving her hand. "You all did well, but pushing too hard won't do any good. Go rest and recover. We'll pick up again tomorrow."

Ino and Sakura both sighed in relief, grateful to be done. They stretched their aching muscles and exchanged glances. "Phew, I'm beat," Ino muttered, wiping her forehead. "Sakura, what do you say we meet up with the others and grab something to eat?"

Sakura nodded, smiling. "Sounds like a plan. We deserve a break after this."

They both turned to Haku, who was still catching her breath but maintaining a serene demeanor. "Haku, want to come with us?" Sakura asked.

Haku shook her head gently, offering a polite smile. "Thank you, but I think I'll head back and rest. You both enjoy yourselves."

Ino and Sakura shrugged, understanding. "Alright, but next time, you're coming with us!" Ino said playfully.

Haku waved them off as they walked away, heading back to her room in the Hokage office. Once she arrived, she let out a quiet sigh, finally allowing herself to feel the full weight of exhaustion. Her muscles ached, but she was proud of herself for keeping up with the training. Tsunade's lessons were challenging, but they were pushing her to become stronger, and that's what she needed.

Haku slipped into the bathroom and took a long, hot shower, letting the water soothe her tired body. As the steam rose around her, she thought back to the training session and the progress she had made. She was learning so much, and she was determined to master the medical ninjutsu Tsunade was teaching her.

After the shower, Haku dressed in comfortable clothes and sat by the window in her room, watching the sun dip below the horizon. The view of the Leaf Village in the evening was peaceful, and for a moment, she allowed herself to relax completely.

As she lay down to rest, her mind wandered back to Naruto. She knew he was out there, training hard just like she was, and the thought gave her strength. "I'll be strong, Naruto," she whispered softly to herself before drifting into a deep, peaceful sleep, ready for whatever challenges the next day would bring.

The next morning, Jiraiya and Naruto awoke early, the cool morning air of the Hidden Waterfall Village brushing against their faces. The sound of the waterfall crashing in the distance served as a reminder of the peaceful yet powerful energy of the village. Jiraiya stretched lazily and then turned to Naruto, who was already sitting up and looking eager to get started with the day's training.

"Not so fast, kid," Jiraiya said, rubbing his neck. "Today, we've got a bit of a detour. We need to head to the Land of Birds. One of my spy networks has some intel I need to check up on."

Naruto, slightly disappointed, frowned. "We're going somewhere else? What about the training?"

Jiraiya chuckled. "Relax, we'll continue your training once we're on the move. The Land of Birds isn't too far, but we need to be careful. I don't want to run into any trouble along the way, especially with those Stone ninja still possibly lurking around."

Naruto's mind flashed back to the encounter they'd had with Kurotsuchi and her team the day before. He recalled her anger, and her strange hatred for someone who looked like him — the Fourth Hokage. "What's their problem, anyway? Why does she hate me so much?" Naruto asked, tightening his headband.

Jiraiya's expression became thoughtful. "It's not you, Naruto. It's who you resemble. Kurotsuchi's reaction… well, she mentioned the Fourth Hokage. I didn't think much of it at first, but after sleeping on it, I think I might know why."

Naruto leaned in, interested. "What do you mean, Pervy Sage?"

Jiraiya rubbed his chin. "It's not just that you look like the Fourth. The Stone Village suffered heavily during the Third Great Ninja War, and the Fourth Hokage had a hand in some key battles, particularly against the Stone. A lot of ninja from their side… well, they don't look too kindly on the Leaf, especially those connected to the Fourth. But there's something else about Kurotsuchi… her name. It's ringing a bell, but I can't quite place it yet. Maybe we'll figure it out along the way."

Naruto frowned. "So, because of something that happened before I was even born, they already hate me? That's ridiculous."

Jiraiya shrugged. "That's the way of the shinobi world sometimes, kid. Old grudges run deep. But don't worry too much about that now. We've got bigger things to deal with. I just want to avoid a run-in with them while we head to the Land of Birds."

Naruto nodded, understanding the situation a bit better now. "Alright. So, what's the plan?"

"We'll take a route that avoids any Stone Village territory. Stick close to me, and don't draw attention to yourself. The sooner we get to the Land of Birds, the sooner we can check in with my contact, and then we can continue with your training."

With that, the two packed up their things and began their journey. As they moved through the forests and valleys, Jiraiya kept a watchful eye on their surroundings. Naruto followed his lead, his senses heightened after their recent encounter.
