The next morning, Chun Li sat with Ryu eating breakfast. "This is nice, just you and me," Chun Li commented.
"Yes, it is," Ryu replied as he slurped down his food. "I forget sometimes to enjoy being in the moment."
"I know. It's a good thing I'm here to remind you," Chun Li teased. "You got some pretty good bruises there." She looked at his abdomen. Ryu shook his head in agreement.
"I think this one is from where you kicked me yesterday," he chuckled. Chun Li scrunched her face as to say sorry. "So, what are you plans today?"
"I think I want to go back to the police station. I want to check on those officers and see if there's anything new they gathered about the missing children."
"You're really concerned about that?" Ryu questioned. Chun Li shook her head yes.
"Something I saw in the temple yesterday…I feel like they might need my help. I can't explain it, I just feel this push to help." She explained.
Ryu smiled, he knew once she had something set in her mind, nothing could stop her. "Well, I'm sure Dhalsim will understand."
"I'll head over once I'm done with breakfast. Well, actually, there's something I want to do before I leave," Chun Li said.
"Oh, and what's that?" Ryu asked. Chun Li stood up from the table and undressed herself. She stood there nude in front of him. She grabbed his hand and led him to the bed. Ryu began to bulge with excitement. Chun Li pushed him down and got on top of him. The two lovers began to make love.
Later, Chun Li went to see Dhalsim in his hut. She had unanswered questions from her experience in the forbidden temple.
"Chun Li, what can I help you with?" Dhalsim asked.
"I had a question I wanted to ask you about…about my encounter in the temple," Chun Li began. "I don't fully understand everything I saw."
"What did you see?" he was interested in hearing what she had to say.
"I saw children, a lot of children. I think they may be the ones that are missing," she nervously explained.
"Hmm, interesting, indeed. The temple is supposed to give you clarity. Help you see without opening your eyes. If you made it out of the temple, you have gained the ability to see without having to reference your past, without looking at what has occurred," Dhalsim explained.
"Yes, I believe I was able to do that. But, the children and an older woman I have seen in my dreams were sights in the temple too. Surely that wasn't clarity," Chun Li pressed on.
"Perhaps not. Have you heard of a spiritual awakening?" he asked.
"You think that's what it is?" she asked wide eyed.
"The spirit world is something many people have contact with, but the signs and messages sent through are not always perceived as that. Tell me, Chun Li. Have you had contact with your father after his death?"
"Yes, I have," she answered. "Ever since I was little, I felt some kind of connection to the spirit world. I believe that connection might have gotten stronger years ago when I was on an investigation with Interpol. I received an electric attack from Blanka and it stopped my heart."
"I see. Then, perhaps, you should pay very close attention to these dreams and visions you have. Meditate on it, clear your mind. Trust in yourself and your abilities. They may be trying to tell you something important."
Chun Li had a lot to think about. She thanked Dhalsim and left his hut. She headed for the main village.
In New York…
Cammy was in her apartment. She was on her day off about to run out and get some things from the grocery store. As she was getting her purse, she heard her cell phone ring, she saw it was Guile. "Hiya, brush head!" she teased.
"You're chipper this morning," Guile replied.
"Only because I know this phone call is going to be something serious or you wouldn't have called me on my day off," Cammy replied.
"I think we should meet somewhere to talk," he suggested.
"Hmm, well, fancy a cuppa?" she asked. 30 minutes later, Cammy and Guile met outside a coffee shop in downtown. "I had to get me some coffee before I listened to the shite you have to say."
"This is serious, Cammy. There are two things I want to discuss. One of them is Chun Li." Guile said sternly.
"Chun Li? Is she in some sort of trouble?" Cammy asked impatiently. Guile held up a picture of a man from his files of the Ashura Crime Syndicate. "Chun Li's OB doctor? What about him?"
"I got this picture from archive files on Shadowlaw," Guile explained. A familiar voice came from behind the two fighters. They turned around and saw Ken.
"That bastard worked for Shadowlaw the whole time and we didn't even notice. I feel responsible for this, I was the one who hired him," Ken said walking up to them.
"I called Ken here too," Guile said. "We're going to need his help on this."
"Right, "Cammy nodded her head in agreement. "So, what does this mean? Dr. Hsu was his name, if I remember correctly."
"Yes. I have already launched a full investigation on him," Ken said.
"Shouldn't we call Chun Li and Ryu? They should know about this!" Cammy cried.
"I don't think we should let them know just yet. Let's wait and see what else comes back on this Dr. Hsu. I don't want to jump the gun on this," Guile said.
"Plus, there is no way to talk to them if they don't turn on their satellite phone. The last time I spoke with them was two weeks ago," Ken lowered his head. "I can't even begin to imagine if that doctor had something to do with their baby's death. I would never forgive myself if Bison had a spy right in our midst."
"Don't beat yourself up about it, luv," Cammy put her hand on Ken's shoulder. "Bison was able to do unimaginable, horrible things no one could ever dream of." The three fighters stood there for a minute thinking about their next course of action. "Guile, you said there were two things you wanted to talk about?"
"Yes, this one can get really personal. You want money bags to hear this conversation?" Guile asked. Cammy nodded her head, she didn't mind Ken hearing what Guile had to say. "Alright, your physical came back with some interesting results. Your x-rays showed some marks or indentations on your pelvis."
"I've been in numerous fights, could just be battle scars," Cammy said.
"The doctor said the marks were called parturition scars. They are an indication that a woman has given birth." Guile watched Cammy's reaction. Her face turned into confusion.
"What did you say?" Cammy asked. Ken had a bewildered look on his face. He immediately took out his phone and began researching parturition scars on female skeletons. "That cannot be possible, mate"
"Can't it? You said yourself you don't remember everything that happened while under Bison's psycho power. How do you know he didn't do experiments on you?" Guile pressed Cammy. He was not being sensitive to the nature of their conversation.
"I think I would remember if I bore a child! It's complete rubbish!" Cammy yelled. Ken weighed in on the conversation.
"Cammy, remember Bison wanted Chun Li and Ryu's son? He wanted to raise him as a super soldier or assassin. It may be possible he may have impregnated you to take the baby," Ken explained. The weight of the conversation was beginning to take a toll on Cammy, her eyes welled up with tears. Her breathing became faster and shallow.
"I might have a babe out there?" Her chest tightened. She knew Bison was capable of doing manipulative and exploited things on his experiments.
"Or you might not. We have no clue what Bison could have done with your body," Guile added.
"It's definitely worth looking into," Ken said. "We have two things on our hands now, Chun Li's OB doctor and a possible birth from Cammy. There has to be a connection between the two." The three fighters made a plan about their next moves.
Back in India…
Chun Li had been investigating the missing children in the main part of the village. She asked many of families questions regarding the last known locations they had seen their kids. She went to popular hang outs where children gathered, asked the locals if they had any information, and just when she thought she wasn't getting anywhere, she saw someone from her vision in the temple. A tall and thin man wearing a purple Chinese changpao. Chun Li grew extremely suspicious of him and decided to follow where he went. She observed him going around the village and near the train station. There was a boxcar he was particularly interested in. Still, there was nothing too unusual about what he was doing, but Chun Li knew in her gut that the man has something to do with the children's disappearance.
After following the man for another 20 minutes, he disappeared behind a building. Chun Li went to follow and as she was about to turn the corner she felt a large hand on her shoulder. It startled her and immediately she turned around and did a whirlwind kick. It was Ryu, he blocked her kick.
"Ryu! What the hell are you doing sneaking up on me like that?" Chun Li demanded to know. Her hands were placed upon her hips.
"I'm sorry. I called to you, but you mustn't have heard me. Why are you so jumpy anyway?" Ryu asked.
"I'm following a lead!" she replied.
"You've been gone for hours, I was beginning to wonder where you were so I looked all over for you," he explained. Chun Li let out a breath of air.
"I think I may have found a clue to the children's disappearance. I was following a suspect until you surprised me, and now thanks to you I lost him!" Chun Li was annoyed but knew it wasn't Ryu's fault.
"And I'm sure you'll find him again," Ryu added. He knew Chun Li can be persistent in her investigations. "Are you coming back anytime soon? It's getting late." She turned around to see if the tall and skinny man had reemerged from the building.
"I suppose I should. Like you said, it's getting late. I can start fresh in the morning," she said. Ryu and Chun Li headed back to their hut in the village.
The man Chun Li was following peeped out from a window. He watched as the two lovers walked away. He squinted his eyes in mistrust.
As Ryu and Chun Li arrived back in the village, they heard clamor coming from an area near Dhalsim's hut. It sounded like fighting. They scurried to see what the commotion was about.
"I am Rashid of the turbulent wind! Remember that name well!" Rashid was an average height man, he wore a long white sleeveless trench coat with black straps tucked into a sash, military style pants, open boots, a head covering and his eye was covered by a yellow green eyepiece. He had arrived to challenge Dhalsim.
"Rashid? I've never heard of him," Chun Li commented to Ryu.
"Neither have I. Looks like he's challenging Dhalsim to a fight," he said and watched on. Ryu was interested in the possibility of a new challenger.
Dhalsim was not amused by Rashid's playful nature. "I will not fight you. You are an unworthy opponent," he said. Rashid kept trying to encourage him to fight.
"I assure you I am worth your time!" Rashid exclaimed. He got closer to Dhalsim but he still wouldn't fight. From the crowd Ryu emerged.
"I will fight you," Ryu walked toward the impatient fighter. Rashid's eyes glowed with excitement.
"Is that the world-famous Ryu? Best friend and rival of Ken Masters?" he said loudly. "I accept your challenge!" Rashid turned around and got into his fighting stance, ready to take on the challenge from Ryu. "Imagine me! Fighting the mighty Ryu. What a story I could tell back home if I defeated him." Rashid was overly confident. He made the first move. Within seconds of beginning the match, Ryu had performed one lightning fast move and suddenly, Rashid was knocked out cold on the ground.
"Pathetic!" Ryu said as he stood over his body. A big burly man rushed to Rashid's side.
"Rashid!" The man picked him up with ease and began to care for him.
"You may take him to my hut," Dhalsim said lead the large man holding Rashid to his dwelling. Chun Li walked up to Ryu.
"Not much of a fighter, is he?" she commented. Ryu shook his head in disappointment. "Let's go back to our hut, we can check on him later, find out what his deal is."
The crowd around the fighters dispersed and everyone went about their business.
