The next morning Dhalsim's wife, Sally, was tending to Rashid. She gave him a hot cup of herbal medicine tea and made him breakfast. She was known for her great hospitality, kindness, and generosity to which Dhalsim did not always like, especially those who he thought were unworthy fighters. Outside the hut was Azam, Rashid's bodyguard, he followed him wherever he went and also acted as his butler and trainer. He saw Ryu and Chun Li heading for the hut and immediately he went on the defense. "Halt! Dare not enter this hut as the mighty Rashid is inside!" Azam announced.
"You mean the one who got knocked out cold last night?" Chun Li said with a laugh in her voice. "Don't make Ryu angry or you'll end up on the ground too!" she teased. She could see Azam was very loyal to Rashid.
"Chun Li, cut it out!" Ryu said. "We came because we wanted to check on your friend." Azam stepped toward Ryu ready to punch him, but Rashid stepped out.
"Enough, Azam!" This is the mighty Ryu. He is to be treated with the ultimate respect! It was an honor to get knocked out by you. Please excuse him, he is quite protective of me," Rashid explained. "Allow me to introduce ourselves. I am Rashid, I come from the UAE and this is my bodyguard, trainer, and butler Azam." He reached out his hand to shake Ryu's.
"This is…" Ryu began to introduce Chun Li, but he was cut off by Rashid bouncing over to her side.
"And who is this lovely lady?" he reached out for Chun Li's hand and delicately embraced it. Chun Li didn't know how to react. "Such a magnificent beauty! Such grace! Are you interesting in checking out my hotel later? Azam here can whip up some chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, deep tissue massage, a skinny dip in the pool? Whatever you want, it's yours, my lady!" Rashid's advances toward Chun Li made Ryu a little jealous. He stepped in front of him.
"Her name is Chun Li!" Ryu said with annoyance in his voice. Rashid backed up.
"Chun Li? Thee Chun Li? World famous street fighter and Interpol agent? Forgive me! I did not recognize you without your tournament outfit on and your hair down. Although, your loveliness transcends the beauty society likes to praise." Chun Li was flattered by Rashid's compliments.
"Nice to meet you too. Your offer sounds very generous but I must decline," Chun Li replied. Other than their close friends and confidants, Chun Li and Ryu did not want outsiders to know they were married. They feared enemies would try to use that against them.
"Alas! An arrow through the heart," Rashid held up his hands to my chest.
"Why are you here?" Ryu asked. He wanted to change the subject.
"I'm looking for a friend," he replied.
"So, you think your friend is here in this village?" Ryu said.
"No, but I knew Dhalsim was here and I couldn't pass up a chance to challenge the famous Dhalsim!" Rashid explained.
"Does your friend have a name? Where were they last seen?" the Interpol agent was coming out in Chun Li.
"All I can say is that she is referred to as The Usher. She's a scientist working for a large company. She travels a lot for work," Rashid was hopeful to find his friend in Calcutta.
"That's not very much to go on, but I can make a call to some friends in Interpol and see what they can come up with?" she suggested.
"That won't be necessary. I plan to look for her on my own, but the last I knew, she was seen with a man in a purple get up."
"Wait, a purple get up? Is he tall and gangly? Wears a black hat, round black glasses and…" Chun Li said.
"A purple changpao. You've seen him?" Rashid said excitedly. Chun Li shook her head.
"I knew there was something off about him!" she said. "Are you doing anything this afternoon? Will you go into the main village with me? I have a feeling he knows something about the kidnappings in the village!"
"Yes, of course. I can be your escort for the day," he replied.
"Well, Chun Li if you have your afternoon planned then I will get back to my training," Ryu left and headed for the nearby lake. He didn't understand why he felt jealous about Chun Li being with Rashid. He tried to cast it out of his mind. Chun Li didn't take note of Ryu's cold attitude, she focused on her new task. She made plans with Rashid to investigate the mystery man. After preparing another 20 minutes, they left to the main village.
In New York…
Cammy paced her apartment. She couldn't believe that it was possible she had given birth while under Bison's control. There has got to be someone who can help me remember if I did. Rose, perhaps? Dhalsim? Dhalsim! That's it! I must go see him. He helped me recover memories from before, I'm sure he can do it again. Cammy made a plan to leave for India immediately. She still wanted to help Ken and Guile investigate Dr. Hsu, but she had to take care of her personal business first. She called them both to let them know of her plans.
"Ken, I need a favor. I must get to India! Can you fly me out there?" Cammy said to Ken over the phone. She was packing her bags.
"What about our investigation?" Ken asked. "Are you going to meet Ryu and Chun Li?"
"I'm going to ask Dhalsim if he can help me recover some more memories. If I did give birth, I at least have the right to know what happened to the baby or who the father might be," she explained. Ken understood.
"I have a jet that can fly you there as soon as you're ready," he said.
"Thank you. I need to find this out," Cammy felt very nervous.
"Last I knew, Ryu and Chun Li were still in India with Dhalsim. You have a very good chance at seeing them there. Maybe Chun Li can help you find clues?" he suggested. All Cammy could think about was leaving as soon as she could. It all weighed heavily on her mind. "Please tell Ryu or Chun Li to call me as soon as you see them."
"Will do. And are we all still in agreement not to tell them about Dr. Hsu?" she asked.
"Yes, we need to find out more information on him first," Ken replied. Cammy left her apartment and headed to the airport. Ken had all the preparations done for her by the time she got there. The jet departed immediately.
In Ken's penthouse…
"Is everything alright?" Eliza asked Ken as she walked into his office. The past few nights he had been spending a lot of time there.
"I'm not sure…There's a lot going on right now," he replied.
"Is it the Goldwyn-Masters business agreement?" she asked. Ken nodded his head.
"Part of it. I don't really care much about the merger. Can you finish that deal for me? There is another thing I want to look into," he asked. Eliza grew suspicious of Ken, she knew he wasn't telling her the whole truth.
"I'll only finish it if you tell me what you're up to!" Eliza gave Ken a stare he knew he couldn't get out of.
"Fine…I didn't want to say anything yet until Guile, Cammy, and I did more investigating on this," Ken began. He had Eliza's full attention. "We recently found out that Cammy might have a kid somewhere out there, and we think Chun Li's OB doctor was working for Shadowlaw."
"Whoa! You can't drop a bomb like that and not explain!" Eliza exclaimed. Ken knew he had to tell her everything he found our so far. He filled her in.
In India…
Ryu sat by a tree meditating. He focused his thoughts on the power of nothingness. He wondered how he was going to master it. He took in breaths of air slowly and rhythmically. A memory entered his mind. He remembered leaving Master Gouken's dojo as a teenager, confident that he would see him again one day to show off all the he had learned on his travels. He then remembered the moment he found out about his master's death at the hands of Akuma. It enraged him, it sent him into a furious state of mind. Adding to his anger, Ryu thought about Chun Li with Rashid, and losing a fight to Ken. He became angrier. His rage began to consume him. A glow formed around his body, his breathing became deeper and faster.
Dhalsim was near the forbidden temple. He sensed an evil aura and came to investigate where it was coming from. He saw Ryu entering the dark hadou state. "Ryu!" Dhalsim called out to him. Opening his eyes, he saw the yoga master standing in front of him. The darkness subsided in Ryu. "Careless! Have you learned nothing, Ryu? Look how easily you let yourself become consumed by your emotions!" Ryu didn't realize what he was doing. It took him a bit to realize he was evoking the dark hadou.
"I apologize, Master Dhalsim," Ryu knew the negative emotions got the best of him.
"What is going to happen one day if you let the negativity in your life take hold? Your self-control is your strength! You need to get to a point where your mood doesn't shift based on insignificant actions! You are in control, Ryu! Emotions don't overpower intelligence!" Dhalsim yelled. Ryu knew Dhalsim was right. He knew he had to master control over himself and his emotions. Feeling defeated, Ryu went back to his hut.
In the main village…
Chun Li, Rashid, and Azam went back to the building where she had last seen the mysterious man walk into. They went inside of it and saw it had been ransacked. Everything was gone leaving no clues behind except some papers in the trash can. Chun Li looked them over, she saw names of children with their ages, height, and a few medical notes. As Rashid was walking to one of the rooms, he was met face to face with a group of men readying to fight. "I, uh, think I'm in the wrong place," he laughed nervously. "I'll just be on my way then! Ma'a salama!" Rashid dashed out of the room and ran to warn Chun Li and Azam. He met them by the entrance.
"These guys knew we would be here!" Chun Li said. She readied herself to fight as well as Rashid and Azam. The bad men surrounded them,
"F.A.N.G said some people might come snooping around," The lead member began.
"Is that who your boss is?" Chun Li asked. "The man in the purple changpao?"
"You don't get to ask the questions, I'll do all the talking!" he yelled. From his accent, Chun Li began to talk to him in Chinese. She hoped they give away any clues about their boss and whereabouts of the missing children. Being a lead and top investigator in her days in Interpol, Chun Li knew exactly how to handle the situation and knew what kind of questions to ask. The lead member took her to another room. Still surrounded by the bad men, Rashid and Azam watched Chun Li get lead out with the lead man holding a gun to her back. Once alone, they resumed their conversation in English.
"I am only trying to help my friend get back her son. That's all I want," Chun Li said.
"And what makes you think I'll just give you that information for free. You have to give to get," the lead man said.
"What do you want? I can give you anything. Money?" she asked. The man looked over Chun Li, he stared at her toned physique, and he started to touch her face.
"You can begin by showing me what's underneath those clothes," he licked his lips while clasping his hands in delight. Chun Li knew it was her opportunity for him to become distracted. She began removing her shirt. She walked up to him and began removing his shirt as well. She seized the moment, she grabbed the gun he had sat down and powerfully aimed a kick at his head knocking him back into the wall.
"What the hell? You'll pay for th…" Chun Li easily overpowered the thug. He was no match for her. She threw him to the floor and pressed her shoe to his neck.
"OK, now we do things my way!" Chun Li stared down the man in his scared eyes. "For starters, what's your name?"
"Tao," he managed to get out.
"Tao! How nice to meet you. It looks like you're in quite the predicament here. I need answers and you have them. So, if you don't want me to shoot off your family jewels here, you'll do as I say and answer every question I ask. Is that clear?"
"You crazy bi…" Tao began to say, but quick as lightning Chun Li shot the gun perfectly in between his legs. "Ok, ok! I'll do anything you say!"
"Very good. Now, who is the man you work for?" she asked.
"Fang. His name is Fang," Tao replied nervously.
"Where are the missing children and why are they taking them?" she continued.
"They're taking them somewhere in Calcutta. I don't know everything, I swear! I just make sure none of the kids escape before they pick them up for transport."
"That doesn't answer why they're taking them?" Chun Li shot the gun again. She was getting annoyed.
"I'm just a bottom man, but I heard Fang saying something about training kids to fight. I don't know the specifics but maybe he wants to start a kid's fight club or something. Chun Li had all she needed from Tao. She quickly knocked him out and left him on the floor. She walked back out to the front room and saw a pile of men stacked up on top of each other. Rashid and Azam had subdued all the men surrounding them.
"Impressive," Chun Li smiled.
"It was easier than taking candy from a baby, Rashid replied. "Get any useful information?"
"I've got another lead! We can discuss it but let's get out of here," she replied. They left the building.
Later in the evening, Chun Li arrived back at the hut where she found Ryu doing push-ups. He stopped when he saw her walk in.
"You're back so soon? I thought you'd be gone the whole day," Ryu said. Chun Li began to undress, she wanted to shower, put on fresh clothes and tell Ryu what she found out. He saw the gun as she was changing. "Whoa! Where did that come from?"
"I've got much to tell you. I found out where they're taking the kids from here. I'll tell you more but give me 5 minutes to freshen up," she said. Ryu wanted to talk to her too, he had some things he wanted to tell her as well.
Once Chun Li returned to the hut, she filled Ryu in with her day's events. "Fang, huh? I never heard of him," Ryu said.
"I haven't either, and that's why he needs to be investigated," she replied.
"Do you mind if we change the subject for a bit?" he asked.
"Is there something wrong?" Chun Li asked. She gave him her full attention.
"I almost lost myself today," Ryu began, "I was angry Rashid made advances toward you and I couldn't say anything to defend you…let him know you are mine."
"It was harmless, I'm sure if he'd known about us he would never had made those comments," she said.
"It wasn't harmless to me! I began to channel the dark hadou. I didn't realize other men could make me jealous." Ryu normally didn't discuss his feelings but with Chun Li he felt comfortable to do so. "I let my emotions bring out the worst in me." Chun Li hugged Ryu. She didn't realize how much he was affected.
"Channeling the dark hadou is serious. How did you stop it?" she asked looking up at him.
"Dhalsim stopped me," he replied. "I am sorry if I was cold or distant earlier." Chun Li loved seeing Ryu being so sincere. She loved the way his facial expressions changed while he explained himself. She smiled at him. "Why are you smiling?"
"You look so handsome all worked up," Chun Li said. "All is forgiven." She leaned in for a kiss. Ryu wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back. They made their way to the bed. They laid down face to face and continued to kiss. Ryu wrapped his large strong arms around her. She felt very safe in his embrace, like nothing could harm her. "You're my one and only, Ryu."
