A few months prior…

A muay Thai fighter overlooked the airfield he was standing on. Bruised and fatigued, he pondered the choices he had made in his life. He had just seen M. Bison defeated by Ryu and Chun Li. If Bison is gone, what purpose will I serve in Shadowlaw? I see no point in serving any longer. He began to walk away.

"Sagat! Where the hell do you think you're going?" Vega asked.

"I'm done with Shadowlaw," he replied.

"If you're not with us then you're against us," Balrog added. Sagat continued to walk away. He knew in his heart he didn't belong in the criminal organization any longer.

A couple weeks later…

Dhalsim sat outside his hut and saw a Sagat walk into the village. Immediately he stood up and prepared himself for what was to come, but the energy coming from Sagat wasn't malicious.

"Master Dhalsim. I mean no harm. I come to you under very different circumstances than our previous encounters and to ask for your help," Sagat placed his palms together with his fingertips touching his nose, he bowed his head.

"I can sense your heart chakra has been blocked for a very long time," Dhalsim said as he put his hand on Sagat's chest. "Let us chat."

After spending a few days with Dhalsim, Sagat was ready to leave to his hometown in Thailand. Before he left, he handed Dhalsim a letter. "Please, give this to Ryu when his path crosses your again."

Present day…

The following morning of Cammy's arrival and Chun Li stopping Fang's kidnappings, Ryu readied himself to leave for Thailand. Chun Li got her things ready too but spent a lot of time with Cammy.

"I still can't believe you might have a child out there somewhere, Cams," Chun Li reached out to her best friend and touched her arm.

"It's a daunting task trying to find this out. Hopefully the yoga master can help. I've no memory of having a child or even being pregnant. Maybe it never even was," Cammy said.

"I wish we were staying longer so we could have more time together, but I know Ryu needs to keep moving," she replied.

"I understand. I don't want to get in your way but I still will enjoy this time we have before you go off again." Cammy smiled at her best friend. "I'm happy you'll get to be my ground when I'm under Dhalsim's hypnosis."

"I'm happy to do it," Chun Li answered. The girls saw Ryu walk up to them.

"Chun Li, do you have a moment?" Ryu asked.

"Sure. What's up?" Chun Li asked.

"I have to show you a letter Dhalsim gave me a while ago," he said. Chun Li's interest was sparked in the letter.

"I'll catch you in a bit, Chun Li. I'm going to see Sally," Cammy waived to her friends and walked off.

"So, this letter?" Chun Li asked.

"Before you judge who it's from, let me read to you what is says, ok?" Ryu began.

The letter read:

Ryu,

For many years I have been consumed by my rage, hatred, and my bruised pride. I have only had one goal and that was to seek revenge for our fight so long ago where you forever scarred my chest. I looked at that scar every day, and it served as a reminder that I must challenge you again.

We were once friends, I recall. I hope to rekindle that friendship one day for the man I have been under Shadowlaw has only been a shell of who I used to be. I would like to formally apologize to you for my behavior in the past. I joined Shadowlaw with the thought that M. Bison would help me get a rematch with you but instead, I ended up his puppet and bodyguard doing things a young me never thought I would do. He was a master manipulator and I gave into him.

I'd like to extend an invitation to my village for a friendly rematch. Please, come see me whenever you get the chance. I believe I have some information that may help you along your journey.

Sagat.

"Sagat?" Chun Li said angrily. "This is why you want to go to Thailand? You want us to go see fucking Sagat? Bison's number one henchman? Are you out of your fucking mind?"

"I had a feeling you'd react this way. Just hear me out, Dhalsim told me he came to see him a few months ago after Bison's death at the airfield. He said something was changed in him. You know out of anyone, Dhalsim can sense someone's true nature and intent." Ryu tried to explain.

"How could we possibly know that's the truth? What if this is some ploy to try and get you? We can't trust him!" Chun Li yelled.

"Chun Li," Ryu pleaded. "Ken and I were once friends with Sagat. He was a good person at one point and I believe him."

"Did you know, he was the one who knocked me out at the Phuket tournament? He and Vega brought me to Bison that day. You saw how he was handling me when I was pregnant."

"You don't have to go. You can stay behind if you want, but I'm going. You know he would be a perfect challenger to fight," Ryu said sternly.

"I can't believe you right now. Still, its always about the fight!" Chun Li threw her hands in the air and began to walk away.

"Wait!" Ryu called to her. "Chun Li, please. I'm sorry." Chun Li stopped, she turned around and faced Ryu. "Remember the reason I fight." He grabbed her hands. "I fight for you, for our future. Akuma is still out there. You know I need to challenge myself. If I can't beat Sagat again, how can I ever hope to beat Akuma?"

Chun Li looked down. She was silent for a moment, processing what Ryu had just said. "As your wife, I will always support you in whatever you do. If you need to go see Sagat, then I guess we'll have to go if it helps you become a stronger fighter. But know, that I don't trust him one bit." Ryu hugged Chun Li. He knew it was hard for her.

"Mates?" Cammy called. She had returned. "I'm sorry to interrupt but Dhalsim and Sally are ready for the hypnosis and I need you, Chun Li."

"Go on ahead. We can finish up at the hut later," Ryu said. He began to walk away. "Good luck, Cammy."

In Dhalsim's hut…

Chun Li and Cammy walked into Dhalsim's hut. Immediately the smell of incense entered their noses, Sally was nearby with her sound bowl, and Dhalsim had a bed ready for Cammy to lay on.

"Are you ready, Ms. White?" Dhalsim asked as he held out his hand for her. Cammy took in a deep breath. She nodded she was ready. She was very nervous. "Chun Li, you'll sit by her side holding her hand." Chun Li quickly sat in the chair by the bed, she was very anxious to find out details about her best friend.

"Don't let go of my hand," Cammy pleaded with Chun Li. She smiled.

"Of course not!" Chun Li squeezed her hand reassuringly.

Dhalsim began with light chanting. He called upon the gods to guide his path to help Cammy reach her enlightenment. Sally struck the sound bowl with a small mallet. Cammy began to evoke meditation and she relaxed her body as she heard the resounding vibrations. Dhalsim rhythmically moved his hands around Cammy's head. Memories began coming into her mind.

"The dolls!" Cammy called out. She remembered the other female assassins she had worked with. Suddenly, Cammy was taken back to her time under Bison's influence. She remembered in depth conversations she had, specific plans of Bison's, people she crossed.

"Cammy, take yourself back to Bison's headquarters, to your room you stayed in. Find anything that will make more memories come back. Look for a trigger," Dhalsim calmly instructed her. She searched her memories again. Chun Li looked on at her best friend. She hoped she would find what she was looking for.

Cammy opened her eyes. "Nothing. I've got nothing." She was disappointed.

"Let's try again?" Chun Li asked.

"Fucking Bison erased so much of my memories!" Cammy got up and rushed out the door angerly.

"Forgive her, Master Dhalsim. Her memories mean very much to her," Chun Li explained.

"We could have gone farther into the hypnosis, but she is very impatient. Perhaps she might find answers elsewhere. There is a certain individual that may be of assistance." Dhalsim said.

Chun Li thought for a moment, and she perked up, "Dhalsim! You're a genius! Cammy can come with Ryu and me to Thailand. We are going to see Sagat."

"Precisely. He was never under Bison's mind control, and as his bodyguard, he would be the person to ask about Shadowlaw affairs," he continued. Chun Li said goodnight to Dhalsim and Sally and left the hut, she looked for Cammy.

Chun Li found her near the river. She was practicing her fighting moves.

"Need a sparring partner?" Chun Li asked as she walked up to her.

"Maybe you can knock some of my memories back," Cammy replied. She stopped what she was doing. Tears were welled in her eyes.

"I want to talk to you about something," Chun Li said.

"Can it wait? I don't feel like doing much talking right now."

"Fine. Just listen then. I haven't told you yet but Ryu and I will visiting a specific person in Thailand," Chun Li began.

"Oh yeah, who? Sagat?" Cammy joked.

"Yes, that is exactly who we are going to see," she replied.

"Wait, what?" Cammy said confused.

"I know it sounds crazy, but once upon a time Ryu and Ken were good friends with Sagat before he fell in with Bison. As much as I don't want to go, I know this could be a great opportunity for Ryu to have a challenging match. He beat him once before, but I'm afraid Sagat's quest for revenge might creep back unto his consciousness." Worry gleamed in Chun Li's eyes.

"I understand. So, you think I should come with you to see Sagat?" Cammy said.

"Yes, he is the one person I think may give you answers. He knew all of Bison's affairs, he must know something." Chun Li was hopeful for her best friend.

As much as she hated to admit it, Cammy knew Chun Li was right. She knew Sagat would be the perfect person to ask about her past. "I'll go. But don't trust everything he says. Sagat was always so hard to read."

"We'll figure this out together!" Chun Li said with a smile. "I've got to find Ryu. I want to tell him you're coming with us. Meet us in the morning. Have all your things packed and we'll leave all together.'

"I will. Thank you, Chun Li. You're the best friend a girl could ask for." Cammy was happy she had the support of Chun Li.
