Piper's POV:
I groaned as I slammed my hand onto my ringing alarm that had been positioned onto my bedside table.I opened my eyes groggily to look at the time on the clock.
6:50.
I rolled onto the opposite side in my bed, not wanting to approach my alarm clock, as if it was a monster that was ready to kill me. Or maybe it already had: how could people wake up so early?
"Pipes, wake. Up." Annabeth's voice called from my door.
"No." I complained, dragging the pillow over my face.
I heard Annabeth sigh. She sounded like my dad.
"You can call Jason when you're done, if we have time before school." she said exasperatedly throwing her hands in the air.
I smiled while gasping.
"For real?!" I asked, my voice going up a few octaves. "Isn't it a little dangerous as you would call it, for a Demi-God?"
Annabeth shook her head.
"Sophie can make you connect telepathically, but hurry up if you really want to." she explained before shutting the door.
I rolled my eyes. My dad completely.
Muttering that Annabeth was annoying, I slipped into my clothes. I decided on an orange crop-top and white shorts, seeing as it was so hot.
Once I had checked I hadn't accidently changed into my other pajamas instead of my clothes, I brushed my long brown hair and walked out of my room to get breakfast in the kitchen.
"And there is the sleepy Beauty Queen, as Leo would like to call you." Percy said from the counter.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"I'm not a morning person, so shut up." I snapped.
Percy put his hands in the air, looking as if he was signaling he was innocent.
"Pipes, just take you breakfast." Sophie said with a smile, handing me a piece of something that looked like a cake. It was white, gooey and looked like it would spread everywhere in a second.
I looked up at Sophie, familiar with the nickname she gave me. Everyone had become friends in a few weeks, though Biana and I had become really good partners in preppiness, she had shared a lot of things and I had done the same.
"What's that?" I asked, examining the piece of gooey stuff in Sophie's hands.
"It's called Mallowmelt, a treat from the Lost Cities. Edaline makes them better than I do, but I still tried!" she said, handing me the plate.
I accepted it and studied it, perplex.
"Don't worry Piper, it's the best thing you'll ever taste in your life." Percy said. "Oh, and if you don't want that, do you think you could give it to me? I finished mine in two seconds."
I smirked. Annoying Percy was enough for me to take a bite, to watch him suffer even more.
My eyes widened.
"I need this recipe right now, or else I'm going to blow." I exclaimed through a mouthful of gooey stuff, taking another bite.
The thing was delicious. It was a perfect mix between chocolate chip cookies and ice-cream, which I never thought would go together, but apparently it did perfectly.
"Nope, I'm keeping it to myself just to torture you." Sophie said, putting a slice on a plate.
"Noo!" I cried in agony.
Annabeth chuckled.
"Well I guess we have to wake Piper up with Mallowmelt now. You better make some everyday Soph'." she told Sophie.
"Nah, not happening, I'm not the type to do the chores." Sophie said waving her hand.
I approached her and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Please, if you cook Mallow-something every morning, you won't have any chores. You won't have to do the dish-washer, the Laundry-" I started.
"And I'm guessing you're going to do all that?" Sophie asked, raising an eyebrow.
I took my hand from her shoulder.
"You got it girl!" I told her, skipping off to finish my plate of Mallow-something before Percy could steal it from me.
"Pipes, you have to get ready if you want to call that Jason of yours." Sophie said, smirking at me.
"Yeah, yeah." I groaned, walking away to my room.
I locked myself in the bathroom, getting ready. I brushed my teeth, applied a bit of make-up and I smiled at the mirror. I was all ready.
I skipped off to the living-room, where everyone was ready to go, seated on the couches chatting.
"Sophie, can you do your telepathic connection thingy so that I can contact Jason please?" I asked the blond girl who was talking with Annabeth. I made sure to flash my best puppy eyes.
Sophie stood up, excusing herself from Annabeth to come up to me with a wide smile.
"Sure! Oh, and no cheesy things, I'll be hearing everything and I don't really want to gag before going to school." she warned, her eyes sparkling.
I felt my cheeks burn up while I tried to cover them with my hands.
Sophie just laughed.
"I'm going to have to open my mind to yours, do I have the permission to enter your mind?" Sophie asked, regaining her seriousness.
I nodded before closing my eyes.
I felt a strong force entering my brain. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but it wasn't bothering neither.
"It's funny, because Percy and you are exactly like Annabeth. When I don't open my thoughts to yours, I only hear a few words coming from your mind. And when I do, they're not as loud as Human's." Sophie muttered. I could almost hear her smiling.
My eyebrows furrowed.
"Maybe it's to do with being half God?" I asked, mostly to myself.
I felt Sophie shrug, as if she wasn't sure if that was right.
"So, like I said, no cheesy stuff. No Lovey-Dovey flirting. And definitely no fluff. If he sounds like Keefe and jokes around about how cute you are, I'm cutting the connection. Got it?" Sophie asked out loud.
"I HEARD THAT!" Keefe's voice called from the kitchen. "You're cute when you're trying to be all authority-y Foster." he added more softly.
I opened my eyes to giggle at Sophie, who was glaring in the direction of Keefe's voice.
"What was that? I thought we weren't supposed to vomit right before we go to school." I asked with a silly grin on my face.
Sophie pinched the bridge of her nose while looking down.
"You sound and look like Edaline with that smile on your face. STOP IT!" she exclaimed while smiling. "Okay, let's just get on with it."
I nodded and closed my eyes.
"So, he's at Camp Half-Blood, and he's blond. He wears glasses most of the time and he's got blue eyes." she murmured to herself.
"How do you know that?" I asked.
"Because I'm looking through your thoughts dummy!" Sophie exclaimed, laughing.
I suddenly felt a little scared. Sophie was looking through my thoughts. Which meant she could see things that weren't supposed to be seen...
"Don't worry about that, I'm just looking for the important stuff, I haven't seen anything bad. Plus, I've finished." she reassured me.
I shrugged.
I heard Sophie call for Jason in a loud voice, making me want to cover my ears.
Jason!
JASON!
"Do you think you can call with me?" Sophie asked me. "It's kind of hard to contact someone I don't know, or that I've never seen."
I joined into her calls.
JASON!, I screamed in my head.
Piper?, I heard Jason's voice answer.
Hey blond super-man, I greeted.
I felt Sophie roll her eyes.
"That's seriously how you call him?" she asked me. "And here I was thinking being called 'Foster' was silly." Sophie laughed.
I rolled my eyes playfully at her.
"Yeah, yeah, keep laughing. 'Fos-Boss' is cool too. Biana told me a lot of things." I replied.
I opened my eyes to see Sophie blushing.
Um, who's that?, Jason asked.
Oh, that's just Sophie. She's helping me contact you with her elf-y powers.
Hey! Elf-y powers are called 'Abilities'! And FYI, they're really cool!
Jason seemed to laugh.
Yeah, so how are you doing Pipes? Is the mission too hard?
I told him all the things we had gone through in school. The friends we had made. The enemies. How stupid some teachers were and other things.
A few minutes later, i glanced down at my watch.
Oops, gotta go to school. Bye!
Goodbye Blond Super-Man!, Sophie said before severing the connection.
I looked at her after opening my eyes.
"Thanks Sophie!" I said, wrapping my arms around her.
"No problem!" she answered.
She hugged me back.
"Guys, we got to go if we don't want to be late." Keefe shouted from the living-room, sounding like he was doing his bag.
"Coming!" Sophie shouted back.
We stood up, and took our schoolbags, ready to go for another day of school.
